Care to share a warning or two for those of us who don’t have medical scientist friends, and may perhaps have been advised by our doctors take things we should not be taking?
Flu shot was one of his buggaboos. But the other thing was some sort of receptor that not all humans have, and he felt was instrumental in who developed full blown AIDS and who didn’t. There were other things having to do with diet. He confirmed for me the avoiding grains arguments. Other things…personally, I’m a go the natural way person. There’s nothing wrong with that if conditions can be controlled with eating whole food and getting decent exercise, sleep, and spending some time at leisure.
One thing we can ALL do for ourselves is to grow some of our own food/medicine. The quality of our food supply is declining rapidly. It’s just not very healthy anymore, even if it is labeled organic.
Even if you live in a city, there are ways. If you have a balcony, grow a tomato in a pot. If you have a sunny window, grow some tulsi for the flu season. Even the smallest yard can handle some echinacea, and it’s beautiful! There are small countertop setups where you can grow lettuce or herbs. They come with a grow light, seeds, the works, ready to grow.
A friend of mine pointed out to me that we are only two generations out of a society where a larger percentage of people than not were some sort of subsistence farmer. I thought about this, and realized he was spot on. My own grandparents were. And they supported THREE families with their garden, theirs, mine, and my Aunt’s. I didn’t eat a vegetable that wasn’t home-grown unless I was at school. And even there, most of the food was cooked from scratch. The meat my grands didn’t raise, they traded for.
I am a Master Gardener in the state of Montana. If anybody wants info/help on how to get proactive growing some food/medicine, I am happy to help.

Just search Aerogarden. They make a few different ones. Small up to big. And, while they usually come with seeds for herbs, you can also get “blank” kits and plant whatever seeds you want, like lettuce or dwarf cherry tomatoes.

My Aerogarden (old one, 7 pods) came from a thrift store (Habitat for Humanity Store, actually). $25 and It included several seed kits but they were all too old to germinate. I saved the sponges and plastic holders, ordered new fertilizer liquid and have used my own organic seeds. I have recently replaced the pump and grow lights (my model won’t take LED lights, unfortunately). My latest crops of coriander, arugula, asian greens and wild mustard greens are just about finished, so I will be cleaning it out and planting new crops of greens. I eat a plateful each morning, so this saves on my Trader Joe’s bill (I don’t know how costly running the thing is. I know the water use doesn’t affect my water bill, in that I don’t go over the base charge when I am running the garden.)
Bonus: the grow lights provide great counter light in my old farmhouse kitchen and I rarely need to use the under cabinet lights I installed.
Downside: my latest garden became infested with aphids and I learned from Aerogarden that they can come in on cut flowers. I always have cut flowers on the table from the reduced bucket at a local grocery store, but this is the first aphid infestation.
Whew. For someone who rarely posts, this was long. But then, this is practical information, not commentary! I am reminded once again of the old Daily Paul site, where there was a gardening thread, a chicken thread, a survival thread, an off-grid thread, etc., where people freely shared their experience and expertise.
PS I have seen newer Aerogardens in thrifts…5 pods, and a really new one with LED lights, that had I think, 3 pods. Sorely tempted by that one but passed. I tend to only buy in thrifts when the tag color of the item is half price!

If you get aphids, mix a little liquid dish soap with some water in a spray bottle and spray to plants. It won’t hurt you or the plants, but it will take care of the aphids.

OK. The Clinton Foundation (CF) has a very strong interest in HIV/AIDS treatment WORLDWIDE. In a large part, this appeared to be a way to move money around. They made almost unbelievable claims in how much they were able to reduce drug prices to enable treatment in the third world – down to pennies – this was their “boardroom schtick” that opened doors to them. They repeated the same lines over and over. Now – during this time, the CF was involved in several scandals involving Indian generic drug manufacturers – plenty of reporting on these items. This is reminiscent of the medical scandals in Arkansas when Beelzebubba was governor there.
All this stuff is tied to Downer in Australia, and of course the Australian donation to the CF – a BIG donation.
Anyway, now let me tie in THIS gal – an HIV/malaria/vaccine specialist who worked for the CF, and her boyfriend, an Australian architect who worked on treatment centers. They were both KILLED by those Al Shabaab terrorists in the shopping mall in Kenya – who asked for ID as they were sorting out non-Muslims to kill. I heard that and BOOM – no way would this be a coincidence. Payoff for a suicide mission is my guess. Knowing the Clintons…it is likely that CF encompasses money laundering, selling state secrets, blackmail and also selling data mined from NSA, to people who could use it to blackmail others.
The criminality level of the Clinton Foundation also makes it like a big octopus with tentacles reaching out in all directions…worldwide.
Money laundering, graft and plain old cronyism is par for the course with Democrats.

“Selling data mined from the NSA” — The full extent of NSA data abuse has not come out. I think NSA data was used as a source of the info in the Steele dossier. My theory is that Brennan, Clapper, et. al., were scouring NSA data for dirt on DJT, while also listening in on his campaign (before Crossfire Hurricane was initiated). The dirt was shared with FVEV recipients (UK – Dearlove?; Aus – Downing). FVEV recipients then facilitated collection by Steele. The Hildabeast’s infrastructure then deployed this data as best it could. Luckily for us (and for him) DJT was pretty clean.
Recall that Adm Rogers discovered NSA database searches of US persons in March, 2016, and in April instituted an audit and shut down contractor access. (The Ohrs became concerned about her ability to communicate secretly during this timeframe, so Nellie obtained a ham radio operators license.) Before the audit was completed, Clapper, et. al, recommended that Rogers be fired. In October, before they could fire Rogers, the audit found significant abuses, which Rogers reported to Judge Contreras (yes, the same Judge Contreras who accepted Flynn’s guilty plea and then recused himself from Flynn’s case). Rogers also shut down all 702 queries on US persons. Two weeks later and immediately after the election, Rogers visited Trump towers, causing the relocation of the entire transition team to a PDJT golf resort. He was then fired.
This whole saga is important because I think it impelled the FISAs. The FISAs on Carter Page was a work around to Rogers’ order precluding Since 702 queries. (Carter Page was of no interest; indeed it is my view that he was planted in the campaign because of his ability to bring the FISAs along with him.) Another key point about the FISAs: they also served to retroactively make the extraction of information from the NSA databases legal.
Yes, the Dem operatives were doing whatever they wanted to, breaking laws and abusing their powers, in pursuit of the mission to ‘take down Trump’.

Yet, we also have John Solomon’s report, speculating that PDJT does not want to release the FISA lest he be accused of interfering in an ongoing investigation. No sure that’s a real reason. I mean, if the FISA doc is as bad as we think, it would exonerate PDJT, thus Mueller would be moot. Right?
You’re assuming that the investigation of PDJT for Russian “Collusion” (or however the heck they are packaging it this week) is the investigation in question.

I did a post on this in another thread (which I cannot now locate): if you parse the paragraph in Flynn’s sentencing memo describing his assistance to the government, it appears that Flynn has assisted in three investigations. The first one is identified as a criminal investigation of some sort (which I believe is the CF investigation), the second is the SC investigation and the third is completely redacted. I believe this third investigation includes FISA abuse, but is more broadly crafted to look at all the spying on Americans that was conducted under the Hussein Administration.
Uh, no, it was some Turkish thing. Yeaah, that’s the ticket, let’s make it the narrative.

I admit I have been somewhat skeptical of the notion of Whitaker as The Mooch 2.0.
However. I was busy this evening and could only listen to Lou Dobbs with half my brain while I was doing other stuff, but he had a discussion with someone about how no one in the Senate has stood up for PDJT and talked about how the Mueller investigation is illegitimate, ineffectual, and must end. None of the Senate has been out there supporting him. Thus, it is likely EVEN after the new Senators are seated in January that at least one of them, maybe even a RINO, will yap away about Mueller during the AG confirmation hearings and demand a pledge that Mueller will be protected.
That made me stop and think for a moment. Of course they will. Of course. Dumb azz Mitt Romney has already tweeted about Mueller and his righteous cause. Blech.
So then I got to thinking about the “Whitaker as The Mooch” theory and thought wow, wouldn’t that be cool if he went in there and got rid of Mueller and maybe a whole bunch of other horrible swamp creatures; that way, the decks would be cleared for the new AG and they wouldn’t have to worry about Mueller because he’d be gone.
And, all the better, Sylvia, that Whitaker arrived by way of Sessions.

I still believe he was working hard for Trump, dealing with many problems/crimes/injustices in the DOJ and USA and completely in synch with Trump’s priorities. Anyone who would hire Stephen Miller and give him to Trump is a true conservative and truth warrior. I believe Trump + Sessions are cunning, focused and capable of the biggest sting against evil-doers this country has ever known.
Yes, optics. You know why I’ve always believed he’s a white hat working for President Trump and not controlled by the DS? Because of the 2,200+ human trafficking/drug/cartel arrests that he made while AG. Media blackout on that.

Sessions’s recusal was a “nothing to see here move”, Mueller a shiny object to hold attention, while Mil Intel and Huber got on safely out of sight, with the enemy convinced that PDJT was mere days away from being finished off.

Yes there are many things I think he could have also dipped his toes into but these that he did accomplish were no small things. Especially not the pedophilia/sex trafficker stuff.

What I don’t understand about the ‘Mooch Maneuver’ is why Mooch has to leave after he served his purpose.
Suppose Whitaker fires everyone he can see, for as far as his eye CAN see.
Good, perfect.
But why leave then?
Why does the deck need to be cleared for someone else? Whey can’t he clear the deck for himself, and then start rebuilding?
Who’s going to stop him?
Nobody.
He has something like 210 days before he needs to be confirmed by the Senate or someone else is put up for confirmation.
If he’s doing a good job after the first 200 days, nominate someone who can’t possibly be confirmed, and Whitaker gets another 210 days.
By that time we may have a super-majority of MAGA supporters in the Senate. If not, then nominate another candidate who can’t possibly be confirmed, and Whitaker gets another 210 days.
I’d do it just to drive the haters crazy, because there’s nobody who deserves it more than they do.

Alas, there is an answer for this. Whitaker is not well known. Given the scale of what is coming, PDJT needs a person with a big name and a sterling reputation in the job. Whitaker may be there in a couple of decades, but he is not there yet.

Fox has deteriorated rapidly since Mudoch’s son’s took a more active role. Fox and some sporting events were the only things holding me to my cable subscription. Time to cut the cord.
On the one hand, I wouldn’t mind cutting the cord. On the other, I would be left with only ONE source of info (if my internet goes out, I would still have the TV, minimal radio reception) and I really have no social life so……TV and books are my escape from my internet obsession. My TV pretty much stays on OANN these days and I record my Huskers, NASCAR, and Triple Crown (covering the sports angle) and a lot of NatGeo, History Channel, AnimalPlanet, HGTV, Science Channel, INSP (watch my Waltons and Little House every day), movies for my granddaughter, REELZ, etc. Now that Tucker is off the list, that leaves only Trish and Levin from Fox, sometimes Dobbs.
as far out in the boonies as we are, our options for cable tv are nonexistent–so we purchased an antenna—$20 at Walmart. We get the 3 major stations and as others begin broadcasting in High Definition, we get those too—we watch very little tv as a rule–mostly morning news for weather. We watch dvds a lot–our favorite series, our favorite moves ( Cary Grant –yum!).
But it amazes me, when we do try to catch a regular show–Last Man Standing was a favorite–I couldn’t stand the commercials–lol–I prefer my dvds…
Oh, yeah – commercials! One of my biggest pet peeves! Which is why I DVR pretty much everything via DirecTV/AT&T! Cable is available in my small town but super pricey and tied to having a landline.
we are just about on the NY border–so close I can spit into NY and I frequently do–and by some “grant” NY has been able to bring fiber optic cable to the boonies out here–they were stringing the lines all summer—now there’s signs posted everywhere about high speed cable being available out here.
which I guess is all fine and well—but the houses are not close like city block close and a good deal of the “homes” around here are hunting camps–so all this grant money did was enable the hunters to download porn quicker in the evenings…yee haw…
