But I ran into my next door neighbor at my job (convenience store/gas station) and told him I wanted to get him a bottle as a thank you for plowing my driveway for going on 6 years now. He tried to put me off but I told him he was getting one regardless so it might as well be something he liked. He suggested spiced rum, I mentioned Rum Chata and he said oh, yeah, my wife likes that too. So I bought him a bottle. Then I had a bunch of customers raving about it so I bought a one-shot bottle to try it for myself. That original bottle is now mine and I will be picking up another one for Mark! LOL

Reminds me…..when I was managing the local American Legion Club, we put on Sunday afternoon dances (had been going on for 40+ years and, sadly, closed down in 2015), with the youngest attendees being well into their 70’s. I used to drink a modified Mudslide w/o the vodka and I introduced some of the ladies to it with just Baileys, Kahlua and milk. OMG – they couldn’t get enough of it! They were so much fun! Nothing pleased me more than seeing these couples, some in their 90’s, getting out on the dance floor and hoofing it. I was always obligated to dance at least a couple of dances with a couple of the guys. Sure miss them.
Oh yeah, people may call them “sissy drinks”…but you can get snockered on them, and rather quickly too.

These people PREY on humans.

Basically enjoying someone else’s misfortune. Can be a case of celebrating someone getting their comeuppance, or, like it sometimes was studying to be a concert musician, people going to recitals just to hear other performers foul up (I kid you not)… (Locking yourself into a practice room five to eight or more hours a day can do that to you…).

I read a quote from Kelly (I think it was an AP article in the OWH) about his biggest burden was keeping PDJT from making bad military moves, like withdrawing troops from “sensitive” areas. Now, I did not hear the man say it myself so I can’t say it it is accurate but I have never felt, TBH, that he approved of our Lion.

I think a point gets lost in the shuffle.

HP lost millions after purchasing the former Mayfield Mall (in Mountain View, CA). As it was not up to code as far as earthquake and other regulations, they were forced to make MAJOR structural changes to the building. I think it was on the order of $25 Million, back in 1990 or so…
While that is true, when you live in a place where over half the housing is under federal protection, i.e., historic districts, on the national register of historic places, and/or belonging to the national trust, every effort is made to save the dwelling even if vagrants are living in it.

Now that it looks like all the fun is going to start in Washington, I would like to quickly remind those watching this person and that person testify, speak in public, etc., that there are many crimes for which there are statutes of limitations, but the following are NOT among them:
Murder
Treason
Kidnapping
Criminal Arson in almost all states
Bank Fraud and Embezzlement
National Terrorism
As the crimes just about all of us want to see prosecuted are in these categories, rest assured no one is going to “get off” for too much time passed. Lack of evidence is more likely to be a cause if it was destroyed or tampered with or material witnesses were Arkancided.
And don’t expect every count to be pursued in the first round of court proceedings if it gets that far and the guilty don’t take the easy way out. With multiple counts it is not unheard of for prosecutors to go for one conviction at a time so that all of it is not thrown out in one fell swoop. Also don’t forget that murder and arson are largely criminal matters that would be dealt with at the state level.
All of this is going to get REALLY messy. The legal system in the USA is NOT simple and was designed that way. Remember, even if there is no temporal justice, God will take care of the guilty.

I’m a little spec of dust in the biz world, yet, because I own a B&B and import, I happen to live in the biggest house in town. I’ve been sued for BS reasons because people THINK I am rich. They don’t think through their preconceived notion far enough to realize I’m the one cleaning those 13 bathrooms. I fight every single lawsuit and have won all of them. Yet, I had to….. to protect myself and family and establish that I would fight nuisance suits or bogus workman’s comp claims.
Also, women have come after my husband and men have come after me.
It also made my son a target with young girls. Yes, little girls who thought they could charm my son and spend the rest of their lives in my house…, eating bonbons.

This sort of thing, unfortunately, was predicted long ago in science fiction. One author (Larry Niven) even predicted that condemned prisoners would be harvested, and that as a result, the death penalty would start being handed out even for minor crimes.

I’ve done a fair amount of computations involving coordinate conversions and systems like lat/long/altitude are among those in use, and the poles are a nasty discontinuity that causes the formulas to try to divide by zero or something like that (and only Chuck Norris can divide by zero). Which is funny, because as you can see…it’s just another bit of snow-covered glacier there, like any other place. Nothing magic about it.
Of course, right now they’re experiencing continuous daylight, and the sun just goes round and round in the sky, sometimes behind the guy with the camera, hours later behind the building. It’s slowly rising, as it spirals around; it’ll attain its max height above the horizon around December 21, then slowly spiral downwards, finally dropping below the horizon in late March.
