The SR-71 Blackbird looks like a product of the early 1960s. It’s beautiful. Like so many 1960s cars, they are works of art. Now look at the styling of the SR-72 just below the SR-71 above. It’s ugly by comparison. Like so many modern cars today.
It doesn’t need to be ugly, just like so many cars today don’t need to be ugly. But they have no character, no soul, because they are designed by computers and by committees, instead of by artisans.
The SR-71 Blackbird was conceived of and designed by men.

Hubby and I bought a Harley in 2003 have enjoyed many, many trips with it, but with his back aging and me not being able to drive it, we’re looking into getting a classic car to tool around in when we travel. So we discuss cars he loved and had growing up–and you’re so right! The older cars had personality and style…these days I cannot distinguish between many sedans and lately all SUV’s and similarly all trucks look alike. Like blobs on the road…how boring they’ve become.
btw hubby’s thinking corvette, I’m thinking thunder bird, but a classic mustang would be awesome too!
Corvettes are gorgeous, but depending on hubby’s back they can be problematic. You sit very flat, very low. Can be difficult to get in and out of the car and riding for any distance can be hideously uncomfortable. I’m sure a lot depends on what year you are looking at as far as what kind of seats they have, but it is just something I have noticed.
Corvettes from certain time periods were beautiful cars. Some still are.
When it comes to SUVs, etc., yes, they all now resemble tanks after a fashion, but there are differences in the grills. The Dodge ones are easier to tell apart from the others.
yes, the lowness is one of the things preventing us from purchasing one–the other is we either have to find a garage to store it or build a small bridge…lol. our driveway runs through a small creek (that’s pronounced crik here in PA)

About an hour from us every January is a Bald Eagle Festival. You can drive along the river and see trees full of eagles like that. It is such a thrilling sight.

I live in northern PA but drive into NY to grocery shop–I have recently seen 2 bald eagles in NY–along stream banks–they are so beautiful to watch while they are soaring!
They give me a thrill every time I see them! Magnificent birds.
Bald Eagles are also seen roosting on St. George Island on the FL Panhandle, where they find plenty of fish in the Appalachicola bay.

A lefty civil rights lawyer named Harvey Silverglate wrote a good book about this called “Three Felonies A Day.” His thesis is that there are so many laws, many of which are vague and/or contradictory, so that a while collar professional commits three felonies every day going about his normal activities. This about this, any white collar professional could conduct his life so as to sail through the pearly gates, and yet be charged with multiple felonies at any time by the feds.
We need to return to the concept of scienter in our legal system. Before life, liberty or property could be taken by the government, they would have to prove someone knowingly violated the law. AND, in order to prove that, the government would need to prove the laws were understood by the person charged. Imagine how our world would change if only laws we were able to comprehend could be enforced.
Ack. Think about this; not This about this.
If you pick up a beautiful blue robin’s egg from your front yard to admire its divine origins, you have committed a felony.
And do not tell the government you “didn’t know.”

After the dogs went out at 2 am, someone over here couldn’t sleep, but had a tangent thought to the tunnels/Arlington theory of the funeral messages.
The people who got them were W, Karen Pence, Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton. Correct? They were the only ones so far as we know.
What do these people have in common? They have all lived in either the White House or the Naval Observatory. We don’t know all that much about the living quarters there or any kind of messages left behind, etc. It might have been that personal.
Just a shot in the dark here, but that did occur to me as well as the Naval Observatory being renovated after Gore vacated it, I think.
There were other thoughts related to who in the Nixon/Ford years worked under GHWB and NOT Reagan, but those I haven’t fleshed out yet. Rumsfeld is the big name followed by James Baker. Cheney was in the House. Interesting given that the Cheneys apparently did not get a note.

Nothing is out of Mueller’s scope, per RR’s revised letter to him. Here is my question: the claim apparently is that Flynn accepted $$$ from Turkey, whether directly or indirectly, AFTER he was appointed as the National Security Adviser. Now, if that IS the case, I have to say that was a VERY stupid thing to do and, indeed, quite illegal. And IF PDJT was unaware of it? Having said that, I have not seen that to be a proven fact at this point so…..hmmmm….sure wish OANN would provide better coverage. I have to go to the lesser-evil Fox to keep up on this.

I would ask that everyone take a CLOSE look at this Sullivan quotation.
First, the word “[a]rguably”. It doesn’t mean a d*** thing! Is this “undermining” what Sullivan thinks? He didn’t say so. Is it what anyone else, specifically, thinks / believes? Again, no – with the use of the caveat “arguably”, Sullivan uses parsel-tongue lawyer-speak, and puts the idea out there without ANY attribution whatsoever.
Snowflakes can “arguably” blame a statue for their acts of vandalism. This applies to both of Sullivan’s exclamations.
Second, I would wager that the “flag” that Sullivan refers to has that tell-tale gold fringe. This makes the physical symbol a “pennant”, NOT a “flag”, and I believe that Sullivan knows this all too well – as do almost ALL Federal judges. So – Judge Sullivan LIED. (Provisionally, of course, since I haven’t SEEN the courtroom, and the flag he cited; and, since I cannot “prove” his knowledge of flag-lore.)
I’ve brought up before, here, the difference between a “pennant” and a “flag”. The former means CAPTURED; the latter means FREE.
In this light, I’m HAPPY that Patriot Extraordinaire Lt. Gen. Flynn has done what he’s done … and that Sullivan’s SPECIOUS accusation against him was worded as it was.
Lastly, Judge Sullivan ISN’T privy to classified intel, especially that intel which has the highest classification. So, he must rule ONLY on what the facts of the case present.
The over-the-top grandstanding, by Judge Sullivan, was superfluous, and entirely unnecessary. He’s DEMOTED accordingly, in MY Book-of-Respect.

ALBANY — President Trump’s family foundation will soon be dissolved under an agreement with the New York state Attorney General.
The AG’s office had sued the Trump Foundation, claiming the President and his family had used it as a vehicle for his presidential campaign.
AG Barbara Underwood also charged in the suit that the Trump family had used the fund has their personal piggybank.
“Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation – including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more,” Underwood said. “This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests,” Underwood said in a statement.
A source close to the situation say that the Trumps were already prepared to shut down the foundation, but wanted to do it without judicial or attorney general oversight.
The agreement announced Tuesday will require such oversight.
“Today’s stipulation accomplishes a key piece of the relief sought in our lawsuit earlier this year,” Underwood said. “Under the terms, the Trump Foundation can only dissolve under judicial supervision – and it can only distribute its remaining charitable assets to reputable organizations approved by my office.”
The foundation in its 2017 tax filing reported having $1.75 million left in its coffers.
The agreement comes less than two weeks before Underwood is set to leave office. She will be succeeded by current New York City Public Advocate Letitia James.
Unless there is a surprise resolution before the end of the year, the rest of the lawsuit should carry into James’ term.
The state is still seeking restitution for the $2.8 million in misspent money along with additional penalties, including a 10-year ban on Trump running a not-for-profit organization.
The lawsuit also seeks to prohibit Trump’s oldest kids — Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric, who were all foundation board members — from similar involvement with any charity for one year.
The suit, filed in June by Underwood in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleged the Donald J. Trump Foundation funneled its cash into Trump’s personal dealings rather than assisting those less fortunate as part of its “pattern of illegal conduct” that was “in persistent violation” of federal and state laws for more than a decade.
The misdeeds included $2.8 million spent to promote Trump’s presidential campaign, along with supposed charitable funds used instead to “pay off the legal obligations of entities (Trump) controlled, to promote Trump hotels, (and) to purchase personal items,” the lawsuit charged.
The court filing specifically accused Trump, along with daughter Ivanka and sons Donald Jr. and Eric, of “improper and extensive political activity, repeated and willful self-dealing transactions, and failure to follow basic fiduciary obligations.”
The suit stemming from a probe begun under former AG Eric Schneiderman just months before the presidential election in June 2016.
Underwood had also notified the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Election Commission about possible federal law-breaking by the Trumps that falls into their bailiwick.
The stipulation to shutdown the foundation with legal oversight comes weeks after a court decision allowed the case to move forward.

Wheatie, lol, glad you looked that up. I knew the third definition but not the first two. It takes me back to English comp class in high school where we had word lists every week with words like that. Some I still remember, some I don’t. I looked at this post about the ruling and knew it was good about the spigot, but I decided I need more coffee before I try to really comprehend the whole thing. You kind of helped.

Zoe, I’m not sure what you are asking about, the milky way photo itself or the process to post it here.
This is the process I am using: (1) each night I select a “pairing” of a photo and a scripture that relate in some way to current events or the liturgical calendar, (2) I download the photo to my hard drive (usually from pexels.com) and resize it a little smaller, (3) I then upload the photo into a new Gab.com post containing the selected scripture, (4) finally, I create a new post here at the Q Tree with the scripture and a link to the photo which is now online at Gab.com which means there is a backup if/when this site gets scrubbed.
I’ve chosen Pexels.com as the source for most of my photos because of their open licensing policy and ease of use. I haven’t found them to be very helpful for descriptions of when/where/what on the photos, but they truly are stunning.
I find the creative process quite satisfying. 🙂
