An irony…a Roman soldier would probably have been mortally offended being compared to a gladiator; the gladiators were usually slaves AND entertainers–two very low prestige things.

History is filled with irony! Although I think your point really is part of the basis of the story here – that a Roman soldier (a general no less) is debased by being thrown in with the gladiators, but proves his worth even there.

It was an excellent movie, set right at the height of the Roman Empire. The real Marcus Aurelius was the last of a remarkable run of five good emperors, called, unimaginatively, the FIve Good Emperors: Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antininus Pius and Marcus Aurelius. They are also called the Adoptive Emperors, other than Nerva, each had been adopted by their predecessor for various reasons. (There was an emperor Lucius Verus as well who shared the throne with Marcus Aurelius for a few years–the kid by that name in the movie, I believe, was an invention.) They were all excellent emperors, and I personally think it did have to do with being adopted. Unfortunately, Marcus Aurelius did NOT adopt his successor, and his son Commodus was truly as bad as portrayed.
Commodus (ruled 177-192 CE) liked to play gladiator, and even issued a coin depicting Hercules’ club; this was all appalling to the Romans; it’d be like the president becoming a gigolo or something like that…oh, wait.
Commodus in fact reigned for three years with his father, who did in fact die in 180CE, but in reality it was in Vienna of natural causes. Commodus was assassinated, but (as far as I know) by a gladiator.
The death of Commodus plunged the Roman empire into a year of chaos with 5 emperors, and then the tumultuous third century of nearly constant civil wars followed on that. We don’t have good records of that time; the period before the death of Marcus Aurelius is far, far better attested.
So Hollywood, perhaps accidentally, happened to pick the beginning of the decline of Rome as the setting for the movie.
I seriously doubt there’s any truth to it but I like to think that commodes were named after Commodus, just as King Richard in Robin Hood Men In Tights decreed that toilets should henceforth be named “johns.”

I always loved ancient history, that’s probably why I liked Latin in HS. Wanted to take it in college at the Purdue branch I attended, but it wasn’t offered there.
I’ve long had an interest in that general period of history, Greeks and Romans both. I would have been a horrible historian, but I really enjoyed, one time in the past year when I chanced to encounter two historians (all three of us knew each other by name) and I just sat and listened to them talk about it, with only an occasional question from me.

One of my friends years ago was into British history. That didn’t interest me much. I loved the hysterical Blackadder series with Hugh Laurie and Rowan Atkinson. Not really histor, but history based.
I have too many interests and not enough large blocks of time to pursue them.
When you wrote that you know a lot about a few thing and a little about a lot of things, I could relate.
My *formal* exposure to history is scant, but I’ve done a lot of side reading.

Someone recently leaked the President’s scheduled “executive time,” which is when he works alone within the private residence of the White House instead of the Oval Office. The leak was designed to embarrass him, suggesting he spends all morning in his bathrobe watching tv and doing nothing (that was Obama, not Trump! Plus, we know our Very Stable Genius sleeps only four – five hours a night, working overtime for us!) Mr. Trump is expected to promote Army Gen. Stephen Townsend to U.S. Africa Command, officials said.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Air Force Gen. Tod Wolters is expected to be nominated head of U.S. European Command and supreme allied commander for Europe; Lt. Gen. Frank McKenzie Jr. to head U.S. Central Command, which oversees forces in the Middle East; and Lt. Gen. Richard Clarke as head of the U.S. Special Operations Command.
The promotions of the No. 2 leaders of the Army and Navy have been expected. Adm. Moran has served as vice chief since 2016, and is a regular voice of Navy interests both on Capitol Hill and within the fleet. He has said he recognizes the Navy’s readiness and retention shortcomings, and wants to address them.
Army Gen. McConville, trained as an aviator, served in both Iraq and Afghanistan and has been Army vice chief since 2017. He also has spoken frequently about improving readiness as well as modernization and improving recruiting by the Army, which last year missed its recruiting goal for the first time since 2005.

I’m going to hazard a guess. A “hold” is when they pause the countdown for some reason; sometimes they’re even automatically part of the sequence. It could be an allusion to that, OR I could be totally off base. (Complicated business, folks!)
That’s what the NASA page says about pausing the countdown. I’m wondering if this connects to what Q said about Mueller being done in under 30 days – that we’re on a countdown and there could be pauses in the countdown, depending on what is going on.

That’s exactly what’s going on. We’re either approaching a hold or we are in one waiting for things to calm down or for certain other markers to pass. The Democrats CYA narratives are part of it. One theory I saw on VOAT this morning, is that the stealth bomber may well be Mueller. The deal cut for him to be SC would have had something to do with his involvement in Uranium One, and saving himself, which is what Q said he was doing. The theory goes on to talk about removal of House Democrats. It’s all speculation at this point, but there’s so much panic out there, the narrative doesn’t support the usual explanations.

My $.02 on the NASA post concurs with SteveInCO, that when Q offers us countdowns they are approximate and depending on hidden “countdown holds”, waypoints or checkmarks needing to be reached that might not be shared publicly.
For instance he seems to claim in post #2676 that the Mueller report and consequent dissolving of the special council investigation will occur within 30 days, but there might be some events that need to occur in a timely manner for that to happen. Like AG Barr being confirmed in a timely manner as an example may need to occur (or may not, just an example of a possible “countdown hold”).
Any exact timing laid out months or weeks in advance is foolhardy; the unexpected can and will happen and bugger up timing.
I remember those sites that claimed to have POTUS departure and arrival times down to the second in advance. I frankly find them ridiculous. Even a pilot on short final, two minutes from landing, can’t tell you to the second when he’s going to touch down–let alone before he takes off.

Well that’s an interesting alternate take; most people interpret the “blockade” as being Mueller.
I suspect that at least half of the interpretations out there are deliberately wrong. In other words, Q plants them knowing that’s not what he’s actually talking about, but someone will spot them. It would aid his plausible deniability AND give more fodder to people who complain about failed predictions.
In this case, to make an example out of it; it will turn out to be Mueller OR RBG, but not both, and Q was expecting us to find both meanings.
Could it be that mueller is the blockade but there may be a legal battle to take him down and a replacement of RGB would make for a more favorable outcome.

The entire thing was ironic. I was poking fun at Steve for running away from the Christians, and then returning to the Christians so quickly. So I pretended to be one of those Christians which made him run away, although I personally never saw what he saw, so I had to make that part up.
All I ever saw were Christians who not only treated him with respect, but with a sort of exalted status. Good for Steve! He deserved such treatment.
But it was funny to me that he should blame these people for his running away when all he ever got was deep respect.
If the issue were principles and beliefs, then how could he possibly return? I was over on 8 chan and an Anon mentioned that this was the 17th time President Trump has told us to watch the video that got him elected and to listen carefully. Then another pointed out that at the 2:17 mark there is a view of the earth from space. The music playing in the background is from a video that shows the same picture and is named “Instrumental Core – Hybridization of Humanity”. They have talked a lot about transhumanism. Interesting. I started to download the video and it just kept on which was odd for a 5 minute video. I stopped it.
I turned the music off and started reading the comments. They were very interesting. Many referenced Venezuela 4 years ago. They were having a resistance movement. Many were saying that you cannot buy this music. One of the comments said , “This is not on iTunes because it’s the background music of Anti Establishment speech of Donald Trump. If you know what I mean.”
I know this is strange to many of you. When my daughter died in 1992 after a very long illness, I found I could not listen to music anymore. Music had always been a very important part of my life. I would just have to turn it off or leave if it was not in my control to turn it off. That went on for 2 years.
I had always been a singer and from the time my daughter died in Dec of 1992, I could not sing. I took care of her for a year before she died. During that period my neck got a growth on the front of it the size of my fist. It may have been from thyroid or adrenal failure. I don’t go to doctors so I did not get any tests. I could not raise my voice much above a whisper. That continued until 1999, when I finally got my voice back. Music had always had a huge emotional effect on me. After the 2 years, it no longer had the same effect. I can listen to music, enjoy it very much, but it no longer holds power of me.
When President Trump talks about giving our country back to “We the People”, is he referencing removing the control of the hybrids (transhumans) over us? I have read that they also clone people and the Matrix movies and the MK Ultra documents show them having a lot of control over people.

The fact that Mueller indicted Natalia Veselnitskaya for Magnitsky-sideshow-related PROCESS CHARGES which pale in comparison to the conspiracy against Trump SERVES A PURPOSE.
Here is an interesting fact of disinformation which again comes back to the entire PRINCIPLE of chaff – that chaff FEEDS the Occam’s razor of military machinery (the brains of the missile), by touching logic OUTSIDE ITS PROGRAMMING (the coolness of Occam intersecting with Turing in the region of Eckert’s Law is NOT TO BE DENIED, folks…)
ANY CHAFF SCENARIO PRESENTED TO A TRUSTING AUDIENCE WILL HAVE MORE APPARENT REALITY THAN A DISTRUSTFUL SCENARIO WHICH MORE CLOSELY ALIGNS WITH FACTS WITHHELD FROM THAT AUDIENCE.

They succeeded, far more than most appreciate, largely because what the agents of influence actually did was rarely illegal.

People in the Soviet Union knew Pravda was lying to them and took some countermeasures (for instance it was often useful to start on the back page, read stories and make inferences, then work forward; for instance there was an airliner crash that never got reported but people figured it out from the huge number of obituaries of party officials that day–they were on that plane returning from a party congress) but they didn’t realize how deep the lying was. They didn’t realize US agression and the eficacy of socialism was a complete lie.
Boy were they pissed when the Soviet Union fell and they found out that not just Pravda, but their schools and entertainment were steeped in lies.

Just reading through Praying Medic’s lengthy thread on the current Q drops and found this interesting:
I just added the five drops from today.
The first of the five, 2682, is a classic, laying out the whole scheme they have been using to push big lies (including that Trump is a racist).
And he said that prosecutions are necessary to restore things. Couldn’t agree more. People must see the system work; it’s not enough to simply remove the miscreants from where they can do damage.
