Now take a look at the letter that parents in California are sending their schools to make them pay attention to their concerns about sex ed in their schools. There are many parents conducting a sit-out absence day to protest the sex ed curriculum.
When students, in mass, do not attend school, the school directly loses out on funding. Every student in a seat is a check from the government. When many students are absent, there is no way for the school to compel them all to attend. This is a powerful way to force the district’s hand if they refuse to cooperate with parents.

The mace tradition is very old for assemblies and goes back to the English court, and a time when the Sergeant at Arms was actually an armed soldier ready to defend the King if attacked or threatened, as well as maintain order. Sergeant was derived from Latin for “servant” but took on the meaning of military and police authority appointed by the King.
Over time the mace became ceremonial but could still be brought forward to remind the unruly that they had the authority to bonk someone over the head 😉
IOW, the Sergeant at Arms was the original bouncer, and he carried a big stick!
If this posts correctly, you can listen to the best discussion on abortion I’ve heard. Hannity’s radio show earlier this week (can’t recall what day but I heard it as I was driving) had a segment at the end where you can hear Melissa Ohden, an abortion attempt survivor who was adopted and found out that she survived an abortion when she was a teen, and has gone on to have daughters of her own, and sadly miscarried one son, and she speaks out loudly for the voiceless and the right to life.
Also, you can hear Dr. Levatino, who started doing abortions in 1977 in New York State during his OB residency. He graduated in 1980 and went into private practice, first in Florida and later in New York. In five years, he performed 1,200 abortions, including 100 second-trimester saline abortions and later, D&E abortions up to 24 weeks. His position on abortion changed after the death of a child killed in an auto accident. His professional description of the details of the abortion procedure is educational especially for those of us with no medical training.
Both Melissa and Dr. Levatino provide much information worth serious thought and consideration. Seems the longer we live and the more information that comes before us, we are able to review what we actually think with no outside pressures to think one way or the other. We need to be able to own our beliefs and be willing to modify them if new information influences us to change IMHO.

One touching statement Melissa made and these aren’t exact words but that “we fought our battle in the womb so please don’t make us fight again. We are human beings…..”

Judy, that Melissa may have been one of the three panelists because she made a similar statement.
It was frankly chilling because they were all three bright, articulate, attractive people. You couldn’t help but look at them at be horrified to think of all the others who didn’t make it and the loss to humanity.

It’s time for churches to get out of 501c3, Period.
Trump has a goal of repealing the Johnson amendment.
I tend to agree for various reasons. They’d be free to speak their mind. I also think it’s open to abuse; someone can create a phony church to try to get around it, and if the IRS says no, they’re now in the business of approving or disapproving of religions, which is okay because they’d never abuse that power. (Sarcasm, of course!)
I’ve never been a huge fan of 501c3 registration of churches. But most will never give it up – b/c it really is about the money. Given the choice most will follow the money.

No, you’re not. I see a vast difference in churches from when I was growing up to how they are now. Back then, ministers talked about social issues and what was going on in the world. Nowadays, nothing, or very watered down so as not to rock the boat. This is probably why.

Becoming aware can be very painful when the people in charge of finances in your mother’s church show they are more interested in $ they will receive from a Trust Fund when she dies than the quality of her care as long as she lives that could drain, even heaven forbid, exhaust the Fund.
They appeared in the courtroom when I took them to court to loosen their attempted control and not one of them ever visited her during her stay in a long term care facility. We have the opportunity to sort out a lot of what we think people are about when we see more clearly what they demonstrate they are about.

Thanks, Pat but the blessing was that she never knew any of the controversy and I was given an opportunity just before going to court to see beyond the shadow of a doubt people I grew up respecting in a whole new light when I took a recording device to another meeting to clarify their obvious “double-speak” and they were horrified so refused to allow a recording. Thankfully the judge forced them to loosen their grip on the possibility of receiving $ and I was free to use the $ to provide quality care for her as long as she lived and a nice sum of $ went to them when she died.

Many, many Christians have expressed similar sentiments; I knew someone who went to a church that rented time in a Korean Baptist church, and even though the church was large enough (several hundred congregants) to afford a building–they feared it would become a distraction. I can certainly see that point of view!
501c3 is like having a HOA. You add one more layer of rules that can be thrown at you when someone wants you to submit to their ideas.
Funny you should say that. I just watched a show with an actress I did not know called Leah Remini who used to be a Scientologist. She is not any longer and is attempting to expose Scientology.
Scientology was granted 503c status during Clinton’s first Administration after years of the IRS saying no. But Scientology is quite wealthy, and they had private investigators and lawyers hammering at the IRS and IRS employees night and day for over a decade. Challenges. Threats. More.
Finally, despite NOT meeting the IRS standards for tax exempt status (and nothing changed in that regard) BOOM one day they just…won.
It turns out that you can call yourself a church, you can call yourself a religion, but to meet the IRS’s tax exempt status requires you follow certain rules and guidelines.

A while back, Praying Medic had information about why 501C3 is not acceptable, but 508C1A allows a church all the advantages of 501C3 without the negatives.
He said the reason everyone uses 501C3 is because most churches use an accountant to set up their organization, and accountants are taught that a church uses 501C3, so that’s what everybody does.
Like a marriage license. Why do people get marriage licenses?
Because that’s what everybody does… that’s what my parents did… that’s what my grandparents did… nobody ever asks WHY or whether it still makes any sense to do it, if it ever made any sense at all.

Great post! Our son is going through this at bible school, so many sjw types and those too afraid to stand against what have become so called cultural norms.
He joyfully goes completely against the grain with them on social and political issues. Most don’t know how to take him but can’t help loving and admiring him, though he’s been worried about getting kicked out a couple of times.
He seems to have been prepared for this time in his life but it’s not always easy. I see the discouragement he has to overcome and increasing spiritual attacks but he loves God and standing for truth. Not just at school but whenever he’s out and about as well.
It’s fun watching him overcome and encouraging him, he can reach a lot of his peers. His grandfather did a great job of training him up in “the ways of the Lord” and he gives me the credit for coming in his life at a time when he was just starting to think about politics. We’ve been MAGA bros since the escalator!
Large numbers of Americans embrace various beliefs that are anathema to the Judeo/Christian moral precepts that form the foundation of our republic; the Communists/Socialists/Progressives want to eliminate all religion because it competes with their hegemony over society; and the Muslims adhere to a religion that the demands the extermination of ethical, legal, social and economic practices that conflict with their rules.
For these reasons, we are going to be forced to engage in a debate over the proper role of religion and how it manifests itself in our society. And we are going to need to think much more clearly about whether the moral views that formed the foundation of our republic and that still undergird our laws will be jettisoned.

I long ago noticed the similarity between the EU circle of stars and the stars of the Betsy Ross flag. (So similar, yet standing for something so different!) There are three key differences in appearance:
1) Betsy Ross has 13 stars, the EU has twelve.
2) Betsy Ross stars are white, EU stars are gold.
3) The Betsy Ross stars are oriented so one of the star points points away from the center of the circle. The EU stars have one point on the star pointing up (presumably one can tell that the EU flag is flying upside down–if one gave a rat’s ass).

No, they aren’t.
Most lizards can’t be held long before they start getting skittish and jump off and run away. Bearded dragons used to being held, however, are often very unflappable. I’ve heard stories of people “wearing” them on their shirts when they go grocery shopping (adults can be pretty bulky though, the head might be near your shoulder and the tail below your waist). Any other lizard would probably jump off of you in the car on the way to the store and end up under the seats and be a pain in the butt to get back out.
Boas and pythons tend to be very placid when being held, not moving quickly, but they will eventually decide they want to hide somewhere and SLOWLY move under the car seats on your way to the grocery store (or deep inside the recliner or couch).
However, bringing a large snake with you into public is liable to cause panic because there are a lot of people with snake-phobia (ophidiophobia).
They’re also escape artists when in their cages. And during the day, when in their cage, they spend their time hiding, mostly. Beardies are usually out.
Because they have almost the placidity of those snakes AND don’t hide all the time, I find them probably the best lizard or snake out there, but it’s largely a matter of personal taste. I won’t be taking mine to the grocery store, not even in summer, because he does get antsy sometimes.

There’s a video out there of a beardie meeting a chihuahua for the first time. The chihuahua is being quite agressive but also acts scared of the dragon, the dragon is able to get it to run off just by turning around. But the chihuahua by the end is just playing…still acting scared though.

Hmm, you can change settings to alleviate that irritation. Here’s a link if you use a windows OS and I’m sure you can search for other operating systems if you use another OS and the browsers have different settings there

That said, I believe the NDAA of 2012 under Obama would allow detention of US citizens by the military for those suspected of terrorist acts or supporting terrorists. Section 1021–“…and anyone who commits a ‘belligerent act’ against the United States or its coalition allies…”. Clearly, the wording is open to interpretation, and some have argued this Section would overrule the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 prohibiting the use of the American military against the citizens of the US.
Linda, I remember reading something about this online at the time but I can’t remember where. Whilst commenters argued that the language was ambiguous, their spidey senses did go off.

The Hill article there is written by John Solomon. It looks like they are laying the groundwork for a narrative shift against the Clintons re Russia and Uranium 1. Yes, those of us who have followed the story have the information in the article, but the normies don’t have it, and from this it looks like Solomon is the chosen MSM voice to break the news and get the ball rolling.
Everything has to be out in the open before prosecutions can happen. My guess is that there is a fear of popular uprising by those who would see any such prosecution as political payback, so they’re going to destroy the cabal faces’ public images.

This morning the Houston Chronicle published an article investigating sexual abuse happening within Southern Baptist churches.
This is alarming and a matter that should be of concern for all Christians, not only those affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
However, there is more to this story that people should be aware of.
The fact is that certain elements within the Southern Baptist Convention have active ties with leftists, Soros, and others.
The LEFT is targeting the SBC with the intent to subvert or corrupt it.
A former Democratic operative, Russell Moore has ingratiated himself with the SBC and became head of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC). The organization has been carefully steered LEFT with the goal of influencing the SBC toward leftist causes and Democratic politics.
The ERLC is now fully weaponized against any and all conservative elements within SBC.
This is public information and verifiable. There are others who have done much more research on this and can provide many more details on their activities.
Leftists infiltrating the SBC have pushed for a “Sexual Abuse Presidential Study Group” and were finally able in June 2018 to get this approved by the Convention.
The goal is to weaponize and attack pastors with allegations of sexual impropriety. They are moving the Overton windows to build credibility. Their goal – which has been publicly stated – is to create a “#MeToo” moment with the churches.
Any pastors and leaders who do not capitulate to the ERLC’s and the Left’s agenda will be targeted with weaponized allegations. In the end it won’t matter whether the allegations are true or false – destroying political enemies and their influence is all that matters.
They’ve already successfully targeted Paige Patterson in May 2018. They used the Washington Post to publish articles against him.
Now they’re coming after anyone else who is a threat. They’ve used the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and their friends at the Houston Chronicle are all too happy to oblige. They have deep connections throughout the newspaper industry to weaponize their FAKE NEWS.

The interview of Mick Mulvaney by Chris Wallace was posted previously, but near the end, they discussed posting the President’s schedule online.
Mulvaney said (paraphrased) it was not good. He said it wasn’t about the content, but that someone within the WH ‘spent three months collecting this information’, which, he said, is ‘really hard’ to do. He also pointed out, ‘Many people that work for us were not hired by us.’
Not sure whether this had any bearing on a certain Twitter account that was recently suspended (it’s about two minutes or so before the end):

IF — IF — what Mulvaney is saying has to do with that account in the first place is unclear. Not yelling here, just emphasising. It’s important not to start rumours.
The account purported to be official. Some here and at CTH said it was a calendar from a fan.
Others of us thought it came from the WH. It seemed quite MAGA.
Considering Mulvaney’s comments, perhaps it did come from the WH, but by someone who was not meant to be tweeting PDJT’s whereabouts on a daily basis.
That is all we can infer from that interview.
Conclusion: Mulvaney made no mention of the specific account. However, the account was suspended a few days ago.
There might or might NOT be a connection.

Mulvaney, talking about whoever revealed the president’s schedule, says once their internal investigation is complete and they know who did it, we will all see how it is nearly impossible to fire a federal worker.
It’s literally insane, which must be why they never explain it.
It’s very simple to remove a federal worker. There are even multiple ways to do it, and all of them are great fun.
#1) “You’re fired”.
Escort them off the premises, throw them out in the street.
Take away their ID badges and any security clearance. There’s no ‘process’ involved, just DO IT.
PHYSICAL FORCE is the remedy for bureaucratic process.
If the fired federal worker wants to sue, then let them.
Let them bankrupt themselves fighting the United States government in court for the next 10 years. And anyone who tries to pay their legal bills becomes the subject of an FBI and DOJ and IRS investigation, with tax audits.
We know how to do all of these things because the Left does them to us just for looking at them the wrong way.
This is a war.
If you can’t even FIRE the enemy working at the desk next to you, then you’re not for real.

#2) “You’re under arrest.”
If you’re too afraid to FIRE them, then have them arrested. Whoever collected that information and leaked it to the press must have committed multiple violations of law, statute, code and every other Ellsworth Tooheyian bureaucratic construct known to man.
Arrest, prosecute, bankrupt during the prosecution phase, and when convicted, imprison them and strip them of their pension and any other benefits.
Make an example, so that the next person leaves willingly in exchange for not being prosecuted.

#3) “You’ve been reassigned to the South Pole”.
This is one of my personal favorites.
You don’t even need a reason.
You could reassign 300,000 (okay, make it an even million) federal workers to the South Pole. Maybe send some to the North Pole, especially those who have spouses in the federal government — husband goes to North Pole, wife goes to South Pole. Or vice-versa.
The resignations would flow like wine.
So when I hear some of the most competent, successful men and women in our country (i.e., DJT and his cabinet) claim that they can’t figure out how to FIRE somebody, I know they’re not even trying.
Maybe he said that just to ‘play nice’ in public? I do not know.
Apparently, from others here and/or at CTH, it is very difficult to fire most federal employees.
Now, if this person is a contractor, that might be different. I haven’t a clue.
Why does DC have such a bloated payroll? Because people who can’t be fired bring on others who cannot be fired? It’s a possibility.

I saw the video of the helicopters landing in the middle of the street, and groups of soldiers leaving the building to board each helicopter (at least 4 helicopters landed to pick up men and whatever some of them were carrying).
Completely bizarre.
Subtle as a hand grenade.
How was the street completely empty, so empty that not even a single car attempted to drive through the area during the 5+ minutes during which the extraction took place?
They’re not behind enemy lines, so there’s no reason to use helicopters to evacuate, and draw such extraordinary attention, landing 4+ helicopters in a row in the middle of a city street in Los Angeles.
They could have left in vans and if they had, nobody would have noticed (and certainly wouldn’t have caught it on video).
So either they wanted to announce their presence to the whole world, or it was the Clouseau Corps.
I dud see viseo posted by local news vudeographers that the streets were closed to traffic with different agencies blocking the street. This kind of thing though, they announce. When the milutary has drills at the baes they announce bc the booms are dang loud miles away. Esp in l.a. people want to know dt film crews, traffic, etc.
