Dear MAGA: 20190422 Open Topic

This Easter Monday Open Thread is VERY OPEN – a place for everybody to post whatever they feel they would like to tell the White Hats, and the rest of the MAGA world.

Wait…’Easter Monday’?

Yes, Easter Monday. It’s a thing. It is referred to as “Easter Monday” on the White House site that gives us a history of the annual Easter Egg Roll:

The White House Easter Egg Roll officially dates back to 1878 and the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes, but first-hand accounts suggest that informal festivities began with egg-rolling parties under President Abraham Lincoln. Starting in the 1870s, Easter Monday celebrations on the U.S. Capitol’s west grounds grew so popular that President Ulysses S. Grant signed a bill that banned the rolling of eggs on Capitol grounds, citing landscape concerns. [emphasis mine]

In 1878, a group of bold children walked up to the White House gate, hoping to be allowed to play egg-rolling games there. President Hayes told his guards to let the children enter, and soon Easter Monday on the White House grounds became an annual tradition. President Benjamin Harrison added music to the festivities in 1889 with the United States Marine Band.

These are the traditional wooden Easter Eggs that will be given out this year:

AH16038-1800x720
The custom to receive a wooden Easter egg when leaving the event began in 1981 — an idea instituted by First Lady Nancy Reagan — and became a keepsake cherished by guests that donned the signature of the President and First Lady.

Today, the 141st White House Easter Egg Roll will be hosted by First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald J. Trump.

Free Speech is practiced here at the Q Tree. In fact, our host Wolfmoon encourages us to use it…and Enjoy it. “Use it or lose it”, he tells us.
But please keep it civil. Discussion of Q is not only allowed but encouraged. Imagine that! We can talk about Q here and not get banned.
Please also consider the Important Guidelines, outlined here in the January 1st open thread. Let’s not give the odious Internet Censors a reason to shut down this precious haven that Wolf has created for us.

Remember – your greatest gift to President Trump is FIVE WORDS:

Visual Descriptions for our dear Zoe, and for anyone else who may find them helpful:
Top Image: Is President Trump, at last year’s Easter Egg Roll, seated at a table and surrounded by children. He has a fatherly look on his face, is holding a pen and saying something to one of the children. It was chilly for last year’s event, so he is wearing a dark top coat and the children are wearing jackets.
Second Image: Is a black and white photo of the White House grounds, during the Easter Egg Roll in 1923. There is a large crowd of children and adults in period clothing. It is a sunny day but must have been chilly, since they are all wearing sweaters and coats.
Third Image: Is a picture of five brightly painted wooden Easter Eggs, made to commemorate this year’s Easter Egg Roll. The solid colored green, pink, gold, red and blue eggs have a glossy finish. The gold one bears the Presidential Seal and the others have a picture of the White House, each identified with the year and name of the event.
Fourth Image: Is a view of the White House during last year’s event. It is shot through the flowering cherry trees and tulip trees and shows the crowd that has gathered on the grounds. It was overcast that day.
Fifth Image: President Trump is walking away from Marine One helicopter on the White House lawn. He is wearing a long topcoat and looks deep in thought. There is a Marine standing at attention beside the steps of the chopper. Beyond Marine One is a fountain in full spray and in the distance is the Lincoln Memorial.
Sixth Image: Is a moving gif showing a Polar Bear who is so exhausted that his head and shoulders are down on the ice…but his hind end is in the air and he is pushing himself along with his back legs. This appears underneath “Yes, it’s Monday.”
Bottom Image: Is a picture of a tan bag with a clear plastic window showing the delicious-looking coffee beans inside. Beside it is a navy blue coffee mug filled with coffee, with a large ‘Q’ on it. The coffee bag has the word “Quality” above the clear window, with a large smoky ‘Q’ in a different font than the other letters. Below the window is the word “Covfefe”.

Definitely. I’m not a fan of Russia but they can’t be the bogeyman all the time. I think the DS idiots really messed up with continuing this narrative. I keep thinking of Assange.

Gail Combs

China has been a traditional enemy of Russia for centuries.
https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/01/27/27-jan-17-world-view-china-places-missiles-russias-border-gain-respect-attack-america/
I think that Russia/Putin would much prefer warmer relations with the USA since Putin is NOT DUMB. Good relations with the USA would serve as a deterrent to China. I think this is why RUSSIA was chosen as the ‘Boogeyman’ and not China, who is our REAL ENEMY. Typical Elte ‘Let’s You and He Fight’ strategy which has unfortunately worked so far. Notice the complete panic by the DNC/Media when ever Putin and Trump meet.

pgroup

Your last sentence is what is at the end of the stray string you pulled on the deep state sweater. It’s the old but useful saying: Are you taking flak? Then you’re over the target.

Harry Lime

Sad attempt to make it look like Hussein Obama was tough on evil Putin and the those dastardly Russians before the truth comes out. The media might as well say and try anything because at this point nothing will ever bring back what very little credibility they had left.
I hope you had a great Easter, Grandma!

Agree! Thank you, I did. Just watched a couple videos about the Shroud of Turin. Amazing Love our Savior had for us.

Ah, come on… hussein was tough, really tough on Russia.
hussein told them to “knock it off.” Spoken like the wuss, he is. Said so on TV.

And shorty afterward, he said he’d have “more flexibility” after the election. Seems like the second “hot mike” (after the Wookie) snagged him…

His numbers have been growing slowly–but on an upward trend–for quite some time. It wasn’t all that long ago that he got above 59 million–GA/FL made sure we heard about it! I figure he’ll cross 60 mil before the end of June.

I know I followed a person… and all the sudden I wasn’t. It is odd, and I am not going nuts, but it does make me wonder…..

Either you or the person you were following is an enemy of the state (as deemed by the Twit god).
It could be BOTH of you. A two-fer (according to the Twit god).

How do you impeach a Republican President for a crime that was committed by the Democrats?

Silly deplorables, it’s an impeachable offense to not let Democrats get away with things!!

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Yes.
Actually I used this avatar for a very short while when I originally went to having one. Then I switched over to the old $10 gold eagle because George Washington was alive when it was made.

You know it’s bad when you hear a leftist speak the truth and wonder what they are up to. Nothing he says is news to us, except for WHO is saying it.
My hunch is he’s exposing this information to make way for a new face, like Pete B. The newest messiah from the socialists/communists/democrats. (I know…I’m being redundant).

rayzorbak

You mean the mayor of South Bend-Over Indiana?

Katie

Oh that’s a good one. I’ve also heard Butgay.
Truly it makes me sad. My grandparents lived outside of South Bend and when I was a child I used to spend time in the summer with them. I have very fond memories of my grandmother taking me to Woolworths, Ben Franklin, and the mall in the city to pick out a new toy during visits.
Leftists ruin everything.

Wanted to share this video of the James Web Space Telescope. It will succeed the Hubble telescope both by replacing Hubble and in its ambitious reach.
JWST has been pushed back to March 2021. It seems like it’s been delayed a lot, but when you watch the video of the deployment you’ll see why. That is a very complex process.

I just read an article about the James Webb Space Telescope the other day and it’s fascinating stuff. It should answer a lot of questions about the origins of the universe and maybe even provide proof of existing life out there…somewhere…
I may be alone in this view…but I have no interest in finding extraterrestrial life forms…life on this planet is strange enough to deal with. But that’s just me.

JWST is designed to “see” in infrared.
It’s hoped that it will be able to see *extremely* distant galaxies with very high redshifts (where the visible light from the stars in the galaxy has all been shifted down into the infrared.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I personally think they should have named it “Herschel” after the discoverer of infrared…but since he also discovered Uranus (to think, he wanted to name it after King George III–vomit!!!), they are perhaps saving his name for a probe to go into orbit around Uranus.
(Inevitable bad jokes based on the “your anus” pronunciation, but “yer-in-us” is more common nowadays. However, that sounds a bit like “urinous,” so perhaps it really should be “OO ran oos.”)

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

On second thought: If it is “urinous,” then we’ve finally figured out a place to send all the urinalists from the Yellow Stream Media.

THIS is what I have been saying for years!!!! Imagine their surprise when the Islamists refuse to give way when the globalists are ready!!!

Cuppa Covfefe

Same here. Years ago, everyone jokes about the Moslems, there was the “Ahab the Ay-Rab” song, and all that. They also made fools of themselves with their evil, backward “culture” (like in a Petri dish).
Then came the “oil crisis”. That got everyone’s attention (especially in the gas lines). With that bit of control (and probably their first obvious alliance with the globalists), they became greedy for more. They also were busy taking over England, via Pakistani immigration. 9-11 “sealed the deal”, and I think the church fires in France, in particular Notre Dame, are France’s 9-11, which Macaroon and his globalist handlers will use to again punch down the Church. Or attempt to.
I’d say, imagine the surprise of the globlists when the Moslems turn on them with their explosives and scimitars. They’ll get a taste of the religion of pieces.
Would that we could get rid of the lot of them: globalists and terrorists. Both groups are only intent on destruction and evil…

Late nite Easter Monday–
I gotta tell you all my afternoon–Went to a friends farm and “played with guns’! I have a couple of little guys –38 revolver (no bullets so we didn’t bring it–Thelma) and my purple concealed carry (Louise) We had about 20 guns to play with–I honestly got my concealed carry license 5 years ago but haven’t shot MY guns since G baby– put them in the safe..Anyway–today was a Blast!! Hubby and son brought a bunch of guns– and yeah! I kicked some A$$ on the range!!!
We used to shoot behind our house–but Mr. Marica built a HOUSE behind us–so…It’s been about 4 years since I have picked up a gun! My favorite was my son’s HK p30l–I Couldn’t MISS!! No recoil! I was like Annie Oakley!! Ya’ll would have been proud of me!!
Then we went looking for morrell mushrooms! Yep!! Found about a dozen!! I figured I would survive on the island for at least a couple of episodes!! LOL!!
EASTER SUNDAY– Picked up My Parents and went to Mass with my brother and his kids and one of mine–went to my brothers Country Club for brunch; dropped off parents and put on jeans and t shirt– drove to 300 acre farm and shot the crap out of targets!! #feelingdeplorable!!

huskerheart

Sounds like a perfect day!

Northern NV desert was quite breezy yesterday…
ATV ride passed within upwards fifty wild horses. A couple very young colts with their mamas. Four horses quite nervous at ten feet or so, as I idled by trying not to agitate them. No easier path to get past them. Beautiful site.
Continued on about a mile out.
Have not been out plinking since November.
Set up ice filled jugs and the like. Plinked away a few hundred rounds. Milk jugs didn’t have a chance:-)
Forecast warming, with less wind. Looks like a week of afternoon plinking.

Linda

This is interesting:

Marica

It really was Huskerheart!! I had daughter and SIL and grand child brunch on Saturday because they were going to HIS family today–( My other son and Dil live in New Orleans–so….) We did Easter egg hunts and lots food…but I was thinking I would be sad on Easter… Seriously– Shooting GUNS– made me happy!! (is this wrong?) 🤣😂😏

cthulhu

I could imagine how a day at the range could be wrong — some ADHD-drug-addled twit shooting targets chanting, “jew, jew, jew” as he fires comes to mind. But any of us who actually go out to a range know that it can be calming, therapeutic, and rewarding. Focus, concentration, proper body poise, breath discipline, sight lines, and trigger pull all come together with instant feedback. It can be almost a zen thing, or it can be feeling for a sweet spot — or it can be rigorous practice, drill, and continuous improvement. Each approach has its own rewards — and all help you become a better person at the end of the day.

Kalbo

Nah, plinking is fun and a happy time.
Plinking, target practice, is quite therapeutic, calming…for me it is.
Mental planning, the motions and steps through trigger pull…watching the ice filled jugs immediately spod a bit:-) Or I was off a tad, and adjust for the next round.
Good times. Safe gun handling. Hitting target. Increasing readiness.
Reinforces a sense of freedom. Happy stuff:-) IMHO.

Will watch later, BUT want to add my 2 cents to your intro.
Having been an intensely politically aware and passionately involved person, someone who really cared about political outcomes but more importantly about the political/cultural circumstances which affected those outcomes and our culture in general, I have NEVER witnessed the left being defeated and out-fought at the level they are now.
Unlike many who go through the process of changing from “liberal” to “conservative,” I was a “conservative” from the very beginning (starting in my mid-teens in the 60’s) until the word lost all significant meaning about 10-15 years ago.
People think Fake News and communist generated cultural subversion is a recent thing; it is not. It has always been a matter of what they could get away with, without subverting themselves, and as a means to gradually introduce repulsive ideas into the mainstream.
The frustrating aspect throughout the years has been the 95% political and cultural hegemony of the left, really stupid stuff which went without ANY effective challenge. Even their “defeats” were spun into victories and organizing events. And whatever the specific issue which dominated the day, there was ALWAYS the constant blaring of leftist vuvuzelas intended to confuse, demoralize, and unsettle.
Only three instances stood out as “conservative” victories with a potential for genuine rationality: Reagan, 1994, and GWHBush after the Kuwait war. Reagan, God bless his wonderful soul, had very limited but actual success.
Newt threw away the victory of 1994, completely threw it away with his bizarre, egotistic behavior and 4th wave nonsense. Newt thought of himself as a world historical figure and he was not and is not. In retrospect, what he did was so stupid and self-defeating, it is not beyond plausibility that he did it deliberately, although his innate pomposity is a simple enough explanation.
And Bush had 90% approval ratings after the Kuwait war. He was sincerely respected and admired by EVERYONE, including Demokkkrats. The most sensible and productive thing he could do was what NO other modern president has had the opportunity to do: get historic agreement on a BIG issue like a balanced budget, or entitlement reform, something which would have made him considered to be a great president. Instead, he spent his capital on alienating himself from the deplorable Reaganites, and kissing up to leftist regard (which now looks exactly like the deliberate globalist, anti-American subversion it was).
But since June of 2015, the dynamics have changed radically. For the first time in my life, the left is regularly defeated, and the vuvuzelas have been ripped from their hands. Their Narrative Du Jour does not get traction, and often has an Unhappy Ending.
My goodness, people are even beginning to see abortion for what it truly is, something which seemed impossible even three years ago.

JasonD

Conservatives will win when they truly have something worth winning for – something worth conserving. We are living during an epic period – and many people are truly looking at the world with fresh eyes – really motivated to try and figure out what exactly the whole show is all about.
When the penny drops – watch out, it is going to be something else …
What a time to be alive!!!

Tonawanda

Yes, the most significant thing which seems to be going on right now is that “many people are truly looking at the world with fresh eyes – really motivated to try and figure out what exactly the whole show is all about.”

To further this description: “Top Image: Is President Trump, at last year’s Easter Egg Roll, seated at a table and surrounded by children. He has a fatherly look on his face, is holding a pen and saying something to one of the children. It was chilly for last year’s event, so he is wearing a dark top coat and the children are wearing jackets.”
President Trump is engaging with a child in one of the ways that adults are prone to do. He is in a situation that he is well able to deal with, but the child may be confused or uncertain. Were he addressing an adult — subordinate or rival, enemy, ally or peer — there might be rigid forms or protocols to be followed, and there might be nuanced statements to further interests or cloak them. But with children, you often have to pare down the concepts to things within their understanding…..but tell the unvarnished truth, in the gentlest way possible.
And here’s the crucial bit — you have to take the child seriously on the child’s terms. You can’t wave things away or be dismissive. If the child asks you about dragonfire risks to the White House, you should provide an answer that makes sense in a world where such things are possible.
President Trump is not giving prepared remarks, he is not at a press scrum…..he is interacting with one individual child. And he is engaged in doing so.

cthulhu

TY…..I got to riff off of the great picture that you included. I just remembered the times when I had that expression in talking to a kid.

cthulhu

As it happens, a few short years before the French Revolution — during which, the majority of French nobility were sent to the guillotine, there lived a Marquis in a country house.
When his son was about five years old, the Marquis taught him to climb up on the seat of one of the big armchairs in the great hall, to step on an arm to climb onto the back, and to then step onto the mantle over the fireplace. The Marquis would brace himself, and say, “jump”, then the young heir would leap into his father’s arms with great delight and be swung to the ground to repeat the exercise. They did this, over and over, for weeks…..
Until one day, when the child jumped, his father stepped aside and let him crash to the ground. And the Marquis gathered him up and made sure he wasn’t maimed, then imparted some aristocratic wisdom: “never completely trust anyone, not even your own father.”

cthulhu

I wish I knew who liked this…..it has more moving parts than are easily apparent — for instance, did the son survive the Revolution when other similarly situated sons perished? Though likely fictional, it is one of those things that sticks in the mind.

cthulhu

I’m thinking it’s a GoT fan…..

Winston Churchill was treated with brutal disdain and indifference by his father. He was ignored by his mother until he was useful to her, and then became close.
I love the Wooster/Jeeves, Upstairs/Downstairs, Lord Peter Wimsey type of British class literature, but the romanticized version of the British class system DOES cloak an often stunning brutality and inhumanity.

Ah that world that toddlers live in, I have had several opportunities to visit that one, courtesy of a boy of the right age.
Play, where pebbles are chocolates for sale, money are pieces of sticks and leaves with which payment is made. The existence of dragons, Santa Claus, and similar, have not yet been disproved. So a question about the fire hazards presented by visiting dragons is within the range of what could be expected. But as everything is observed, questioned, and explained, sometimes with alternate but plausible facts, I know they will not last forever. Gradually, that alternate world will vanish and be forgotten.
Meanwhile, in the backyard, having never really explained why the anemometer on the roof is spinning, and then one windless day I had a question from a very concerned little boy as to why it had stopped, was it broken now since it stood still? So I explained the simple cause and effect, that it would only spin when the wind was blowing and the more wind the faster it would go. And that is opposite of the fans that we use in the summer, these make wind when we turn them on.

I was walking around with a very young nephew, after a rain shower, when the sun broke through the clouds… He said, let’s look for rainbows, Auntie…. And we did… we looked and looked and didn’t find a rainbow… See I went into his world,, I did not explain about the physics of rainbows, and how the sun has to be at a certain azimuth… We were out at noon, high noon… So I kept my mouth shut and we both looked… Sometimes their world is better.

Investigative reporter James Rosen of Sinclair Broadcasting, reported that according to sources, with Mueller’s report now public, President Trump and key White House aides are said to be taking a fresh look at declassifying documents that will expose the FBI’s and DOJ’s criminal actions of spying taken against Trump’s 2016 campaign.
According to James Rosen, President Trump is planning on declassifying the documents around the same time Inspector General Michael Horowitz releases his report on FISA abuses.

Declas FISAs needs to happen.
Then release the 302s, text messages… Space there release a week or two apart. Work the narrative…spool up MCM and D-Rats…hold them at bay. IG report comes out. Huber reports in with Barr.
Control the narrative…its all offense to punish the bad guys…and bonus shut down impeach BS.
So, here I am yammering as if I have a clue. No doubt President Trump has the way forward planned and is executing.
Great days we are witnessing.

Sylvia Avery

It sounds like (per Matt Gaetz or John Rattcliffe I think) that there may actually be two more IG reports. One on FISA abuse and another on leaking.
But wasn’t the IG also supposed to be looking into how the FBI/DOJ handled the Clinton email investigation? It was so long ago, now, I’ve kind of forgotten.

Kalbo

It may be Huber looking into the Clinton white wash.
Hopefully we’ll get those answers in a a month or two.

Huh. Finally. If you are old enough to remember the 90s, during the Starr investigation into President Horn Dog the media aggressively stalked Ken Starr to question him. Never did I ever once see someone yelling rude questions at Mueller. Or for that matter, any of the Comey/McCabe/Stork/Page, et al Cabal.
Finally, a reporter hunted Mueller down after Easter Sunday services to ask him questions and be a general pain in the rear.

Sadly, it is quite telling. Mueller, his crony D-Rat staff lawyers, Comey, McCabe, Page, Strok….are never pestered by the press seeking…”the truth”.
MCM interviewing politicos (Schitt, Mad Max, Nads…). Politicos spout gross generalities, many nonsensical…yet MCM never ask for specifics.
Talking heads the same.
Never do they get into specifics and apply logic. MCM, politicos and talking heads really need to get called out.

In today’s issue of the Sunday Times, Tim Shipman and Roya Nikkhah report that “Courtiers have drawn up plans to hand the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a major international job that could see them moving abroad after the birth of their child…”

Sylvia Avery

No clue. I read something about that, but I didn’t know if it was true or not.
Frankly, I was so exasperated by Commie Megan’s talk about raising the baby gender neutral that I have found it difficult to focus on any other details.
She does appear pregnant and is wearing maternity clothing and so they are still clearly sticking to the story that she is pregnant.
But now I’m curious, so I’ll have to do a little research.

Sylvia Avery

She is 37 which is getting a little long in the tooth for a first pregnancy, so who knows– it might well be a surrogacy.
Although they are so modern, so progressive, I can’t believe they wouldn’t just come out with the truth instead of hiding behind a phony baby bump.
But whatever. I used to kind of like Harry, he was sort of a rebel, but now he annoys me because he appears to be led around by Megan. And I have zero tolerance for their SJW garbage.
So if they are banished to Africa as is being planned, I think that’s great. The whole bunch annoys me, and I dread the death of the Queen because then that horrible Charles and his nutty Commie ideas will be King and then they will annoy me even more.

Pat Frederick
Sylvia Avery

Goodness, she gets around very well for someone that age, doesn’t she?

Pat Frederick

yes Sylvia she does, but given the “royal” treatment by the press-she could walking around in just her knickers and a tea cup on her head most days and we’d never know…

Sylvia Avery

🙂 🙂 🙂 Oh good one, Pat!!!!

holley100

I have to wonder if they’re being banished or more like deployed to Africa. There’s just something sneaky and globalist and SJW about those two.

Pat Frederick

oh…i bet you’re right…DEPLOYED is a great word!

Sylvia Avery

One of the links is to Page Six which is kind of gossipy, and the other link is to Town and Country which is much more dignified.
From the Page Six article it sounds very much as though they are being banished. In fact, there is an anguished discussion about what to do with them. Send them to Canada! But they were afraid Canada was too close to the US and the pesky US media (they obviously don’t realize all the US media cares about is Orange Man Bad). Then they thought they’d send them to Australia, but they were afraid they’d basically take over Australia and end up being the King and Queen of Australia, plus the world is smaller than it used to be…in other words Australia is just not quite far enough away. So, send them to deepest, darkest Africa and what a shame the UK doesn’t have a base on Mars.
Town and Country represents more of the “official spin” that they are going to be important worker bees for the UK…in Africa.
There is DEFINITELY something “sneaky and globalist and SJW” about them, I agree completely. Troublemakers.

GA/FL

37 is old for a first pregnancy – it would be classified as a high-risk pregnancy by any OB-GYN in the USA.
Also, when Me-Gain was married the first time, she had a pre-nup that made the husband pay for a fitness coach to help her regain her actress figure. She’s very vain about her yoga-flexibility and slender figure.
Flying across the Atlantic to a shower, traveling to Morocco a disease area 3rd world country, and wearing spike stilettos in the 3rd trimester, with no ankle swelling or imbalance, isn’t realistic for someone her age.
Using a surrogate is the latest trend among the rich and famous.

Cuppa Covfefe

Yep. Meghan Marxist. Maybe send the two of them to Venezuela… or New Zealand…

NebraskaFilly

She looked pregnant to me in some recent pics. IIRC, wasn’t that Kardashian?
https://www.iheart.com/content/2019-03-13-who-is-kim-kardashians-surrogate-for-baby-no-4/

Cuppa Covfefe

Maybe she’s using an “empathy pillow” or whatever they’re called… Ms. Marxist is also planning on “home delivery” so the truth could be very easily hidden. (The cynic in me, seeing their connections to Øbozo and the Klintoons, can just see Marxist ‘ordering out for a child’…).
And I have a hard time seeing Ms. Marxist as being more popular than Princess Diana. There’s no comparison; not just from looks, but from elegance, grace, poise, and how she dealt with people, in particular, children, who just flocked to her.
I can only see pigeons flocking to Meghan Marxist and Randy Harry. She puts the “common” in commoner…
Kate, if anyone, is similar to Princess Diana.

NebraskaFilly

Agree 100% – not even on the same planet as Princess Di and Kate! We tried to have our daughter at home – had to end up going to Andrews AFB hospital (only military hospital that had mid-wives) after my all-day labor kept stopping – cord was around her neck, which was cutting off her oxygen during contractions. Her body secreted adrenaline, which signaled my body to stop the contractions.
We even had 15 people coming to witness the birth, including a Jesuit priest. Had a mid-wife and a registered nurse on hand. At one point, my mid-wife suggested that an orgasm might help things along! LOL – riiiiight – like I would be interested in sex during labor???? I drank herbal teas, had an enema, ran up and down the stairs, jogged to the library and back – nothing worked! We were mightily disappointed but were celebrities, of sorts, at the hospital for even trying an at-home birth.

Kalbo

Sort of a slow day yesterday. So I did click on an article talking about the Royals.
Party pooper here.
To me, everything about the Royals is a farce and nonsensical.
Harry and Me-again make things even dumber.
Somewhere I read they may be banished to Canada or Australia. Ostensibly to play “Royals” to their Subjects in Canada or Australia.
Ignorant, it all is.
It’s no wonder the Brits can’t figure out BREXIT, have lost free speech, and enjoy increasing knife attacks. Seems as thoug acid attacks fell out of favor in Britain.
IMHO.

Sylvia Avery

Reading about the Royals is definitely a frivolous waste of energy, but what can I say? Sometimes a nice catty bit of gossip is enjoyable to me.
It sounds like Canada and Australia have been ruled out as not being far enough away. They think they can ignore them more successfully if they are in Africa.

Kalbo

Well, I also clicked yesterday:-)
LOLF…Canada and Australia not far enough away.
Yes, I did see Africa mentioned. New Zealand even further and seems to be progressive heaven of sorts.
On to the egg roll…

Sylvia Avery

Oh man, NEW ZEALAND!!! If they end up in NZ I may faint. Harry just looooves BO with his jug ears. They can commune with the rest of the nasty globalists.

Cuppa Covfefe

Jugs and thugs,,,

Cuppa Covfefe

Hmmm. Meghan MARSist? Meghan Martian? the Marxist Martian?

Gail Combs

I was curious so I checked WIKI
Queen Elizabeth II is the sovereign
Her heir apparent is her eldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales.
Second in line after him is Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, the Prince of Wales’s elder son.
Third in line is Prince George, the eldest child of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge,
Fourth in line is Princess Charlotte
Fifth in line is youngest brother, Prince Louis.
Sixth in line is Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, the younger son of the Prince of Wales.
“Under the Perth Agreement, which came into effect in 2015, only the first six in line of succession require the sovereign’s consent before they marry”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So if Prince Harry and his wife are kicking up dust, they very well could be sent off where they can do less damage and get a bit of reality shoved in their face.
Africa BTW is NOT a safe place to go either, given the Muslims and disease. A friend of Hubby’s came back from an African trip only to die a year or so later from some unknown disease he picked up there.

GA/FL

Well, an American friend died of Mad Cow (Creutzfeldt–Jakob) disease after a trip to the UK.
With all the muslims and migrants, the UK isn’t all that safe for anyone including royals.

Gail Combs

TRUE, I certainly would not go back to visit the UK!

singingsoul

Each time when I visited Britain I stuck with vegetarian food. I did the same when I visited Cape Town SA. I am careful eating meats in some countries.
I also do not buy Mexican vegetables if one cannot drink the water in Mexico why buy the vegetables…?

churchmouse

What is wrong with British meat? It is some of the world’s FINEST. I eat it all the time.

GA/FL

The comments on the Daily Mail are to be weighed, Meghan isn’t all that popular and the rumors of her demanding, imperious behavior at home may be the reasons behind the notion of shipping the couple off for a while.

Sylvia Avery

Maybe Churchmouse will weigh in on what the UK really thinks about this absurd pair!!!

churchmouse

Thank you, Sylvia! Hope you had a blessed and happy Easter!
I have a hard time getting interested in this younger generation of Royals.
Every once in a while, I’ll read a few ‘feud’ articles, and I’m not quite sure what to think.
First, I am positive that Megan really is pregnant and think that she will have at least one more child. I don’t think one can fake going to the Lindo Wing to give birth. I have not read one article about Megan using a surrogate.
The Town & Country article cited the Times’s Tim Shipman as a source. Tim Shipman is a reliable journalist, but we’ll see what happens when this move is expected — in 2020.
Before they got married, a number of articles in the UK press said that the Queen wanted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be Royal ambassadors to the Commonwealth. Therefore, a stint in Africa would not surprise me. I do not think they would live there permanently, however, probably just a year or two.
My concern about Harry’s wife is that she was an actress. When one marries into the Royal Family, one is expected to serve others and to know one’s place. Megan didn’t grow up with the Royals, and continuous protocol is required, even in family situations. I would think any American bride would find that a difficult adjustment to make. That said, I’m not even sure Fergie and Di handled it very well.

Sylvia Avery

Thanks CM, that was really interesting. Appreciate your thoughts.
I think I am still slightly in shock that Harry would marry a twice-divorced (I think) American woman of somewhat erratic family background. From what I have read, Edward chucking the crown and running off with Wallis Simpson was THE trauma of Queen Elizabeth’s life. Of all things for Harry to do! I find it astonishing that he would do that to his grandmother. It strikes me as a quite deliberate rebellion, but maybe I’m reading too much into it.
I hope you had a joyous Easter, too.

churchmouse

Thank you, Sylvia. Easter was a splendid day. Like many here, I wish it had lasted longer. 🙂
Funny you should mention Wallis Simpson. I started thinking of her and the abdication as soon as Megan and Harry got engaged. Fortunately, Harry is unlikely to ever reach the throne.

singingsoul

I never liked Megan Markel but then I do not know much about her. There is something about her that seems so (…) She comes across to me like a spoiled brat but maybe it’s just because.
Harry seems another story. I think most people give him much of slack because people loved Diana.
Maybe I am strange but Royalty of another country does not interest me we did away with them for good reasons.
God Bless America!

churchmouse

The Royals are the glue that holds our nation together.
Then again, they also eat British meat. 😉

kea

I have no issue with her age. I know a # of people who had kids the first time in their 40’s.
I do recall reading that William likes the press to pay attention to him. If I was Kate I would be careful or else Megan will take over (rules be damned).
I mean Harry an O are oh so close.
Keep her away from the USA. and RIP UK?
“With Meghan Markle due to give birth any day, a new report says the British royal family is scrambling to try to contain her popularity amid worries she could become “bigger than [Princess] Diana.”—— Yeah I don’t like so. People loved Diana. Her no so much.

churchmouse

I see a lot more articles about Kate than I do Megan.
Megan makes the London Evening Standard quite a bit, but that is because she spends a lot of time with survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire (2017).

Sylvia Avery

WOW! Frankly I am shocked!!!! Good for these corporations!

Sylvia Avery

Mark Levin’s Sunday night show on FOX was good; it was also a little confusing as usually he doesn’t do two new shows–Saturday is a rerun of the previous week and Sunday is the new show.
This week, Saturday night was his typical interview with Byron York that the President tweeted about. Sunday night was a special show, no interview, about the break down of our systems: the separation of powers, due process, and our justice system, the lack of a free press, and the travesty of the Mueller Report.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N75NrecoM0

NebraskaFilly

I loved the show with Byron. The other one? Nope – couldn’t do it – I cannot sit and listen to him yelling! I expect to see him keel over from a heart-attack one of these days. Good grief, the man needs to learn some moderation, IMO.

Sylvia Avery

I know, NF, I hate it when he yells, too. He calmed down after a few minutes, thankfully. The timbre of his voice when he yells is awful.

Sylvia Avery

Wheatie, loved the history on the WH Easter Egg Roll. I can’t wait to see what Melania will be wearing!
Ainsley Earhart from FOX & Friends will be at the Easter Egg Roll in the morning covering the event. She’ll probably get to speak with Melania.
I’ll be watching!

Sylvia Avery

I know what you mean. We went out for Easter brunch with the extended family and I was telling my brother that I liked to watch F&F because I know PDJT is watching it, too, and I like knowing we are getting that same news coverage. I got a bit of an eye roll. Okay, so maybe that is a little weird. Whatever. Feels right to me.
Regarding the egg roll, I knew they had it and all but I never ever bothered to watch any coverage of it, but because it is our POTUS and FLOTUS I like to watch and see what they are doing and how they do it.
And the media is so hateful that it is hard to get any kind of coverage of the “lighter” side of things at the WH like the Christmas decorations or fluff articles about Melania in the women’s mags in the doctor’s office waiting room or hair salon since they refuse to cover her. Grrrr.

Sylvia Avery

Victor Davis Hanson–Why The Effort to Demonize Barr?
FTA:
“…So, more likely, the effort to delegitimize the professional Barr is the opening, preemptory salvo in the second and quite different round of investigations.
Soon Mr. Barr will be tasked with collating and adjudicating criminal referrals and arguments for indictments coming variously from Inspector General Michael Horowitz, possibly special counsel John Huber, Devin Nunes the ranking Republican and former chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and perhaps later even from Lindsey Graham, Chair of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, along with any conclusions arising from federal attorneys within the Justice Department itself.
In toto, these sources variously may present evidence to Barr on matters of lying to federal investigators, perjury, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and abuse of government surveillance — and the charges could, in ironic fashion, involve top-ranking former administrative state investigators during the Obama administration…
In sum, the progressives’ preventative efforts to destroy Barr’s reputation take on a certain sort of sick partisan logic, especially as he is neither the sort to recuse himself during cycles of journalistic hysteria nor to appoint a special counsel, after the ill-starred odyssey of the Mueller all-stars and dream team. Given his age, past tenures, reputation, and professional demeanor, Barr does not seem to be much worried over transient unpopularity, partisan criticism, political pressure, or making tough decisions that might adversely affect his future career.
So the fear is not that Barr broke or will ever break the law, but rather just the opposite: He seems the sort who will follow the law wherever it leads him and without worry over the consequences — and that reality is now apparently seen by some as quite scary indeed.”
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/progressive-effort-delegitimize-william-barr/

pgroup

So what you’re saying is that Barr is just like me – old, cranky, set-in-his-ways, and beyond any tolerance for bullshit-masquerading-as-dessert.
Sounds like he is somebody impervious to propaganda and left-wing dogma. This is a good thing.

NebraskaFilly

But…..how strongly does he feel about preserving the institutions? THAT is the question, IMO.

NebraskaFilly

Not to mention the appearance that he accepts CrowdStrikes’ analysis, which is bogus through-and-through.

so in the name of “diversity” we all need to welcome all kinds of people including Muslims, but then once they’re here, they want separate everything…now I may need more coffee to understand this concept–but right now seems stupid and hypocritical…if they want to remain separate and undiversified let them stay HOME

“Scantily clad ugly people” – The first apartment I ever rented was on the beach in Florida. When I went to go look at the apartment, I immediately walked out to the balcony to check the view. I could spit into the sand, so close. Beneath me, the lifeguards from Miami Beach were locked in a match against the lifeguards from Ft Lauderdale.
I took the apartment. Couldn’t afford it at the time but I found a way.

HMMMmm come to think of it this may be part of the Progression to ‘Soylent Green’ just as Roe vs Wade was the start towards infanticide up to the age of four and then to anyone the ‘State’ deams a ‘Useless Eater’
It started with PETA
PETA’s actual goal is to remove property rights and to reduce humans to the same status as animals so people will have no problem with the Fabian Socialist goals.
PETA KILLS ANIMALS

KILLING THOSE “UNFIT TO LIVE”
“The moment we face it frankly we are driven to the conclusion that the community has a right to put a price on the right to live in it … If people are fit to live, let them live under decent human conditions. If they are not fit to live, kill them in a decent human way. Is it any wonder that some of us are driven to prescribe the lethal chamber as the solution for the hard cases which are at present made the excuse for dragging all the other cases down to their level, and the only solution that will create a sense of full social responsibility in modern populations?”

“Under Socialism, you would not be allowed to be poor. You would be forcibly fed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you liked it or not. If it were discovered that you had not character and industry enough to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed in a kindly manner; but whilst you were permitted to live, you would have to live well.”

The controversial and unapologetic critic of Israel and Jews Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar raised an impressive $832,000 in just three months in Congress. Politicians must report the names and addresses of donors who give over $200 per election cycle.
Rep. Ilhan Omar is also spending money very quickly. Omar has already burned nearly a quarter million dollars in the first three months. One of the more interesting expenditures is that she spent roughly $20,000 in one day at Hilton in Virginia.

My daughter after she lost her gray tabby went to the Humane Society to look for a new cat. There was this 8 year old male cat about 35 pounds . He was very large also large box structure. She felt sorry for him and took him home. It became obvious that in his last home they kept him most of the time in a crate. With lots of love and running free in the home he reduced his weight to 26 LB.
Her then boy friend now husband gifted her with another gray tabby. Brutus the big male when he became frustrated with the female kitten kept sitting on her. He kept doing this even after the female cat became an adult. I can see Brutus trying to do what the cat on the chair in the video was doing squeezing through a small space.
Cats are so funny. I love my three rescue cats 🙂

All blue checkmark people. Figures. Real people don’t speak that way. Easter worshippers. Can you tell me who, other than Christians, would be worshipping on Easter? That’s like asking who is buried in Grant’s Tomb.

Aubergine

Well, it’s interesting.
Pagans would more appropriately be called “Easter worshippers,” if one were inclined to be literal.
“Most historians, including Biblical scholars, agree that Easter was originally a pagan festival. According to the New Unger’s Bible Dictionary: “The word Easter is of Saxon origin, Eastra, the goddess of spring, in whose honour sacrifices were offered about Passover time each year.”
“According to some scholars, such as Dr. Tony Nugent, teacher of Theology and Religious Studies at Seattle University, and Presbyterian minister, the Easter story comes from the Sumerian legend of Damuzi (Tammuz) and his wife Inanna (Ishtar), an epic myth called “The Descent of Inanna” found inscribed on cuneiform clay tablets dating back to 2100 BC.”
Of course, as Christianity spread and grew, Easter became the time when the Resurrection of Jesus was remembered. As Christians were doing all over the world yesterday. But they are not worshipping Easter.
By labeling martyred Christians as “Easter worshippers,” might these idiots be attempting something more nefarious than political correctness? I don’t know, but I have to wonder.

Gail Combs

Agreed
I mention yesterday that it was a subtle INSULT because they were calling Christians PAGAN worshipers of Eastra or Ostara, a not well known goddess of spring. Her companion is the Easter Hare (or bunny) symbol of fertility.
http://www.northernpaganism.org/shrines/ostara/about.html
It is like Hillary calling us Deplorables or Obama implying we are losers who cling to our bibles and guns.

Aubergine

Well, she is a very well-known goddess within the Pagan community, believe me. These people know what they are saying.

Gail Combs

I was speaking in the historical sense per the article I linked.
And yes, they certainly KNOW EXACTLY what they are saying. Remember the muslims consider PAGANS to be of even lesser stature than christians and Jews aka “People of the Book” … that is if you can get lower than whale poop.

9:29 Make war on those who have received the Scriptures [Jews and Chris-
tians] but do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day. They do not forbid
what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden. The Christians and Jews
do not follow the religion of truth until they submit and pay the poll tax
[jizya] and they are humiliated.

All however are Kafir, enemies of ISLAM.

singingsoul

Aubergine thank you for that good post.
As we slip into a secular society our Christian Holidays are molded to their idea.
Look what happened to Christmas? When I grew up we knew it was the Birth Christ we celebrated not Santa Claus with all the gifts. Now focus is Santa and gifts and all these stupid Santa Claus songs.
Easter worshippers reminds me as if someone would say Christmas Tree worshippers or Santa worshippers. I liked that gift giving was separate from Christmas when I was a child.
We need to fight this remaking of our Holidays by non believers because I see Christians already adopted secular Christmas without realizing it. Each step we loose the purpose of the Holidays.
I have seen how this remaking of Christian Holidays were remade to fit Communist destruction of the Christian faith.

Deplorable Patriot

Deplorable Patriot

So, if we used the REAL name of Easter, in Latin Pascha from the Hebrew Pesach, and call it what it is, the Christian Passover, we could avoid this?
Doubtful. Easter is a name specific to English speaking countries. Everywhere else it is correct. The candle lit at the Vigil is the paschal candle. We throw everything out and start over. This is not a celebration that started among the Angles or the Saxons. They just played with the words.
All of it is a tearing at Christianity from various sides. Even getting the west to split apart along ideological lines.

And the FDA keeps approving more and more poisons that get stronger and stronger all the time! This is why I LOL when I hear people say they won’t accept medical marijuana until the FDA clears it! Good grief!!!!

Gail Combs

ASPIRIN would be OUTLAWED if the FDA was required to clear it and if it had not been grandfathered in!!!
Marijuana would also have been been grandfathered in, except HEMP would have COST the Duponts and William Randolph Hearst $$$$

…Historically, marijuana was both legal and considered to be a useful medicine all the way up through the beginning of the twentieth century. At that point, William Randolph Hearst had invested heavily in pine forests in Mexico, intending to sell them to his own newspapers to make newsprint. The Dupont family were discovering petrochemicals including plastic and oil-derived pharmaceuticals. A machine was invented that was the equivalent of a “cotton gin” for hemp — it mechanically stripped down the hemp plant and turned it into useful fiber, oil, and vegetable waste that could be used as an animal fodder (yes, we can imagine some very happy cows, can’t we?:-). One of many uses for the now inexpensive hemp fiber was to make equally inexpensive newsprint paper that was clearly superior in quality and cost to wood pulp paper. Another was that the oils and fiber could be used to synthesize various chemical products. Both Dupont and Hearst were suddenly hundreds of millions of dollars at risk.
They turned to Harry Anslinger, who happened to be Hearst’s brother in law. Anslinger was a suddenly idle ex-prohibitionist working for the FBI, and he created a propaganda campaign that portrayed hemp as literally maddening those that actually smoked it, leading them to commit acts of rape and robbery and moral turpitude. At the same time, political revolutions in Mexico (funded and fought by a private army belonging to Hearst) and a negative portrayal of blacks and mexicans as common users of hemp for recreation purposes added a useful racist hook. Between these, congress outlawed hemp.
So matters remained until the Viet Nam war and the 1960s and early 70s. As part of the quiet “revolution” against what many perceived as a military-industrial complex with a life of its own that was fighting a series of expensive and pointless wars, pot had become “the” recreational drug of choice among young hippies and freaks as well as the military draftees who fought the war. Its use was so prevalent that Texas dropped the question about cannabis use from its entrance exam to police academy, because “asking a vet of they had ever smoked pot was like asking them if they smoked Camels”. Suddenly a large fraction of an entire generation of U.S. citizens had smoked pot and discovered that no, it does not turn you into a crazed rapist, and usually does not make you insane unless you are most of the way there on your own already. They also discovered that it is neither physically addictive nor dangerous in the sense that it is literally impossible to overdose on marijuana — it is literally one of the safest compounds we know of, with no meaningful fatal dose.
However, Ronald Reagan took office in the 80′s, an immediately declared a “War on Drugs”. Marijuana was reclassified as a schedule 1 narcotic by the federal government, trumping communities that had already begun to experiment with decriminalization or even legalization. This once again gave law enforcement agencies lots of useful work (helpful if you are trying to build a police state), gave cops everywhere the ability to selectively enforce drug laws and thereby control the populace, and caused us to rather suddenly need to build enormous numbers of prisons because it rapidly turned out that by making marijuana trafficking a felony and putting even mere users in jail (just like heroin, cocaine, and actually dangerous drugs) somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of all prison sentences were being handed down for low grade drug offenses. Our expenditure on controlling pot went from next to nothing to tens of billions of dollars a year. Obviously, many profited from this, including (as usual) the money launderers and organized criminals that made fortunes providing marijuana on the black market, and the politicians and bankers that provided well-paid-for top cover.
And now to the interesting bit (although I think all of the above is interesting:-). One of the reasons given for making marijuana a schedule 1 felony class drug was that we didn’t know about the harm it might cause, and there was no known medical benefit. Yes, it had been used as a medicine for centuries, the founding fathers literally “mandated” the growing of hemp on American farms because it was so useful a plant both industrially and medicinally, but we had entered the era of double blind placebo controlled drug trials, and there were now enormous pharmaceutical companies whose billion-dollar products were at risk, dwarfing even the Duponts’ complaint back in the 30′s. Its risks were similarly unstudied.
A period of research then ensued. If you wanted to study pot, you had to both get funded and get the experimental marijuana from a single, small farm in Mississippi that grew “legal” pot for this purpose. The government itself was in complete control, in other words of what research got conducted, because even if you could find outside funding, you couldn’t get legal pot to do the research with without approval.
Gupta initially opposed marijuana legalization because a review of the medical literature showed him that 96% of all published articles found some sort of negative effect of marijuana, and almost no articles showed a benefit, especially compared to existing approved medications. However, a couple of anecdotal cases coming out of the states that had legalized medicinal marijuana in SPITE of the federal governments laws caused him to go back and reexamine the funding model. In retrospect it shouldn’t have been surprising, but he learned that 96% of all funded research was to look for negative effects of marijuana, and that to get funded and permission to get government grown pot was so difficult that there simply weren’t all that many papers in the first place. In well over thirty years of intensive examination, all of the examination was literally preselected to find problems, almost none to find benefits, and one had to walk on water and push much paper to do either one (and relatively few scientists had bothered).
That caused him to examine the body of emerging, still anecdotal, evidence from the states that had legalized medical marijuana. They showed that — again unsurprisingly — marijuana is a rich pharmacopeia with multiple legitimate medical uses that could survived double blind placebo controlled investigation, while at the same time having minimal side effects and no known lethal dose. Perhaps he came to realize that its negative effects might, conceivably, have been a bit exaggerated or might arise from confounding uncontrolled elements. Confirmation bias is, after all, the bete noir of science.
This situation almost perfectly matches the evolution of “climate science”. Nobody cared about it for decades, but suddenly a group of individuals emerged that all benefited from the demonization of carbon. This included environmental groups, that hated civilization itself and the burning of anything (as long, of course, as their own lifestyle was preserved), energy producers that saw in this the opportunity to triple or quadruple their profits by creating artificial scarcity of a plentiful resource, politicians that saw in this the opportunity to raise taxes, get elected on a world-saving “issue”, and perhaps line their own pockets along the way, and a United Nations that saw an opportunity to transform it into a way to tax the rich nations and transfer money to developing nations (while again lining various pockets along the way). The role of Anslinger was admirably met by one James Hansen, a True Believer who never stinted and does not stint today in exaggerating the data and claims of disaster (five meter sea level rise! temperatures like that on Venus!). And suddenly, quite literally all funded research was on how burning carbon was bad for the climate.
Even completely ethical scientists have to eat, and if the only way they can eat is to get funded, and the only way they can get funded is to submit proposals that seek to prove that CO_2 is bad, guess what they will propose to study? And if they want to get funded AGAIN, guess what they will find? Climate science has been effectively corrupted beyond any hope of objectivity.
On the good side of things, scientists are actually usually pretty ethical. Also, in the end data talks, bullshit walks. The hypothesis of CAGW or CACC could, in fact, be true (across a wide spectrum of the meaning of “true”, in fact). However, recent data is not in good correspondence with the theories that have predicted it, and many good scientists are in the process of reassessing their conclusions. As is the almost simultaneous case with regard to marijuana, the confounding evidence is starting to overwhelm to narrowly funded and directed arguments to date. We will see where the future takes us, in both cases.

Most of our local news, print and video, has not covered the dumping. Guess what? Digging around I found that indeed, they are being dumped by the humdreds in CA, and the cities/counties have been paying for everything for them. Clothing, food, medical, housing, “financial aid “…. but the state is kicking in a little and using emergency reserve monies to do so.
Likely all our high gas taxes, sales taxes, bonds etc. And they want to get rid of prop 13……..

CA is ideal for placing illegals. Run them north on 99 or I-5. Give them an AMTRAK ride from San Diego as the Starlight (I think it is) runs north.
Sanctuary states and cities deserve all the illegals that can be sent there way.
Maybe CA or Frisco will instead of fixing there obvious problems, be like Seattle and hire a PR firm to fix their image. Only liberals could believe such nonsense.

Mueller’s 400 page report didn’t even mention Fusion-GPS!
“This convenience permitted Mueller and his “14 angry Democrats” to avoid mention of the ultimate source of funding for the “Dossier” — the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democrat National Committee — as well as the name of the law firm (Perkins Coie) that acted as the cutout.’

For those involved in the Shroud of Turin discussion last night, I found the source for my suggestion that the three universities who did the carbon dating engaged in deliberate fraud.
I have NOT re-read this in several years, and forget the strong points and weak points of the argument. What I do remember is that there is a plausible case that the carbon dating numbers were the result of deliberate fraud. One can ask: would employees of universities in 1988 have a motivation to make sure that the shroud was not dated to circa 33AD? Motivated to get the “right” result? Has science fraud ever been committed by university employees?
https://theshroudofturin.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-case-for-fraud-in-1988-radiocarbon.html

Deplorable Patriot

Sorry I missed it last night, but the computer was put away for the day.
The 1988 carbon dating mistakes have been attributed to the reweaving done by the French nuns who had it for a bit. Once the repair work had been taken off of the back, and a second carbon dating was done, it was dated at 1-70 A.D. Add the pollen, the spices, and the image being a negative, and it’s harder and harder to ignore.
There’s a lot of bending over backwards to not believe the Shroud could well be the real thing.

Tonawanda

Re-weaving is also a highly plausible explanation. Apparently, even the original testers from 1988 have admitted that their results were incomplete.
This is the link to the latest post by Sephen Jones, who has suggested the possibility of fraud by a computer hacker: https://theshroudofturin.blogspot.com/2019/02/
This link is the 14th post related to the original post from THIRTY years ago.
My memory of the original post was foggy, and his theory was more speculative than I recalled, but it matched up with my own long held thought, which is that the evidence that the shroud was authentic was so incredibly overwhelming, that the carbon dating results were incorrect. The results were the equivalent of some scientist telling me I was born in 1852, that’s how overwhelming the evidence is.

LM

I have read that they took the samples to be tested from an area of the Shroud that had been repaired due to damage from a fire.
http://www.factsplusfacts.com/carbon-14-turin-shroud.htm
I have also read that the blood type on the Shroud matched that of the Facecloth which datd back to Christ’s time.

Deplorable Patriot

Yes, the blood type is AB-. It matches those on the Crown of Thorns, also. And, all of the wounds match as well.

Deplorable Patriot

Here’s some info on the French reweaving:
https://www.shroud.com/pdfs/benfordmarino.pdf
IT sounds fantastic, but I am here to tell you that the art form itself is stunning. A great great aunt had a reweaving business. One of her employees rewove a silverfish hole for me in a wool skirt, and you could not tell it had been done.

I have always liked Louie but he failed bigly when he ignored Walid Shoebat’s evidence against the MIC that was provided to him and others in Congress. MAJOR failure on Louie’s part! Michelle Bachmann knows but she is under an NDA – sure wish PDJT would lift that!
“This guy is not a good guy,” added Gohmert, “and I’ve been saying that since the day he was appointed. This was a disastrous mistake. He had been begging Trump to appoint him as FBI director again, one day before he was offered [the special counsel position], and Trump refused, and a day later he gets the chance to not just prosecute Trump but also persecute him, and that is what he’s been doing.
“Both [Robert Mueller] and his joined-at-the-hip buddy Comey … they both have a history of leaking when they want to hurt somebody that they don’t have evidence to prosecute. They’ve done that. In fact, if you go back to James Hatfill, who Mueller accused of being behind the anthrax killings after 9/11, and at one point it was so bad that President Bush called him in and said, ‘There doesn’t appear to be any evidence against this guy. You sure it’s the right guy?’ He said, ‘100 percent.’ Well, there was no evidence.”
Gohmert continued, “[James Comey and Robert Mueller] went after [James Hatfill] like they went after Ted Stevens when the FBI totally manufactured a case under Mueller’s watch, and in that case, they prosecuted an innocent man — not just maybe not guilty but totally innocent — and got him convicted because they had gotten warrants, grabbed all the evidence Ted Stevens needed to prove his innocence, and didn’t give him that. They created [and] manufactured evidence, and they were able to convict a guy just days before the election which he lost by maybe a couple of thousand votes.”
Gohmert concluded, “This is not a good man. He should not have been allowed to get anywhere near a special counsel job, and I don’t care what Lindsey Graham says, he just doesn’t know the man like I do.”

Legendary reporter Bob Woodward said Sunday that the FBI and CIA’s reliance on the Steele dossier “needs to be investigated” now that the Mueller report has undercut many of the salacious document’s claims.
Woodward reiterated in an interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace his past statements that the dossier “has got a lot of garbage in it.”
What I found out recently, which was really quite surprising, the dossier, which really has got a lot of garbage in it and Mueller found that to be the case, early in building the intelligence community assessment on Russian interference, in an early draft, they actually put the dossier on page two in kind of a breakout box.” (RELATED: Mueller Report Undercuts Several Steele Dossier Claims)
“I think it was the CIA pushing this. Real intelligence experts looked at this and said no, this is not intelligence, this is garbage and they took it out,” said Woodward.comment image

The Mueller appointment and witch hunt was itself an obstruction of justice and an abuse of power, since it served to keep the real perpetrators of crimes against our country from justice and was put into place illegaly through collusion with foreign powers by criminal elements embedded in our government.
Coopersting with it when not compelled to do so empowers and validates treason. It is a way of calling evil good and good evil.
As a Christian, though I might forgive these people, I personally believe that it is wrong to cooperate with their desire to escape justice.
To me, it would empower them to continue their reign of deception, tyranny and control, and of of their policy of death and destruction aimed at their enemies (us and innocents around the world…i.e. Arab Spring, Benghazi, and turning loose criminal invaders dedicated to destroying others in Western countries).
In fact, I believe that speaking out against such evil is an act of love and a way of honoring God and speaking truth. True compassion for victims surely requires the enforcement of justice against the perpetrators of crime, no matter what level of the social strata such criminals inhabit.
Ideally, the re-establishment of Constitutional justice would ensure that the Clintons, Obama, Soros, Brennan and the their minions will be unable to continue to hurt others.
This is fundamental to MAGA.

According to records, Whiteside paid $2.75 million for a first installment of which Avenatti was supposed to receive $1 million for his fee.

penny wise, pound foolish
https://www.carsuk.net/electric-cars-produce-more-co2-than-petrol-or-diesel-cars/
FTA:
A report from the Journal of Industrial Ecology has shown that electric cars, on average, start life with the equivalent of 40,000 miles more CO2 ‘on the clock’ than a comparable ICE car thanks to the additional energy used to produce the car – especially the lithium for the batteries – meaning it is very unlikely an electric car will have a life cycle long enough to offer CO2 savings compared to an ICE car. And therein lies another problem.
With an electric car run from ‘mains’ electricity, the CO2 ‘savings’ are about 50 per cent compared to an ICE car. So if an EV is to emit less CO2 than a comparable ICE car it will need to travel at least 80,000 miles in its life before it ‘breaks even’. That in itself is a big ask when it takes so much time to recharge EVs, but there’s another problem.
As the batteries on an EV age, they become less efficient. Nissan has admitted that the 73 mile range the LEAF has when it’s new will drop to just 55 miles after five years, making it even more difficult to rack up enough miles to ever ‘break even’ on CO2 emissions.

They also need to consider the tremendous cost in materials, energy, lives (!), and pollutants (read: toxic waste from rare-earths mining) that electric vehicles, in particular the batteries, require. Also, disposal of said batteries, on the scale of which they’re hoping, is a far from trivial task.
Finally, these batteries, when they catch fire, CANNOT be put out with standard fire equipment. The fire/rescue crews need special training and equipment, and without proper methods and materials, the fire is self-sustaining.
The costs FAR exceed any imagined benefits. Especially when the “problems” meant to be solved are imaginary themselves (CO², NOx, particulates, AlGoreBull Warming, und, und, und)…

“…Having tried the President for treason and [seeing him] found not guilty, they now want to get him for shoplifting and execute him anyway.”
That was Darrell Issa on Maria Bartiromo’s show on Easter Sunday, and he just about nailed it. Of course, a perfect analogy would mention that the President didn’t even ‘shoplift’; he only thought about it (as in, firing Mueller) and, after getting a dose of reality from his lawyers, ultimately decided not to do it. He obstructed nothing. Just the oppostite: Trump ended up being amazingly transparent with investigators, turning over about 1.4 million documents, never invoking executive privilege and even, in effect, waiving attorney-client privilege by allowing his attorney to talk with investigators for over 30 hours.”
THIS part, TBH, bothers me about Barr, as I have stated previously – will he focus too much on “preserving the institutions”?
“When Bartiromo asked Issa if Attorney General Bill Barr would be following the truth –- meaning there would be accountability for opening an investigation into Trump for, as she correctly put it, “no other reason than that they just wanted to stop him and didn’t like him” — Issa said that Barr, being a by-the-book sort, would investigate but in an eminently reasonable, pragmatic, non-political way. In Issa’s words, “There’s a real question of ‘Does he go after that kind of crooked politics, or only after someone who made a false official statement?’ And, again, that’s where this attorney general, unlike Eric Holder, he’s not a wing man to the President; he’s a by-the-book law enforcement person with a flawless history in this job.”

Well, this is interesting. Now the Sri Lanka PM is claiming he was NOT informed by the intelligence agencies…..SMH – more ass-covering on the way, methinks!
“Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe survived an attempt by Sirisena in November to replace him with Mahinda Rajapaksa, a former president many in the country and abroad deride as a “war criminal” for crushing a Tamil minority insurgency to end the nation’s 26-year-old civil war in 2009. Wickremesinghe and Rajapaksa served as dueling prime ministers for nearly a month before the Supreme Court found that Sirisena did not have the constitutional authority to replace Wickremesinghe.
In the aftermath of that dispute, Sirisena has allegedly kept Wickremesinghe and his staff out of major intelligence meetings, leaving them uninformed regarding ongoing threats. The situation may have prevented Sri Lankan authorities from properly dealing with National Thowheeth Jama’ath, the nascent jihadist group police believe responsible for the Easter bombings.”

“We’re” crushing them with debt, eh?
1. 99.999% of them were 18 and older when they took out that debt.
2. 99% of them probably got degrees in things like “feminist studies” or some other useless degree that won’t get said people in #1 above a job.
So, no….
1. “We” aren’t doing anything to these legal adults
2. They did it to themselves
3. “We” aren’t responsible for the choices they made

Deplorable Patriot

I’m upset that Catholic Churches are the ones being targeted and the MSM does not have the decency to identify them with that designation. Yes, we are Christian, but there’s Stations of the Cross in the pictures of the damage.

Gudthots

As well we should be wanting people to know the full details.

Cuppa Covfefe

It’s not just Catholic Churches.
There are Protestant Churches of all denominations, Synagogues, Cemeteries of all faiths (except, of course, Mohammedanism) being defaced and vandalized, ALL OVER EUROPE.
In short, the Moslems are hell-bent on destroying ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that is not Moslem.
Boko Haram spells it out in their name.
The Moslems here are having Hochzeitskorsos (basically a wedding “convoy”) where dozens of cars, sometimes hundreds, go through town, then onto the autobahns, and stop there, blocking all traffic, and ignoring the commands of the police, who have to order reinforcements (and “conflict counselors”) to disperse the crowds and get the autobahns free again. While blocking the freeway, they do “sideshows”, like the gangs do in East Oakland, Emeryville, and Richmond (in Kalifornistan). There often are accidents, as well as injuries, and a few deaths.
They particularly enjoy having their weddings on Sundays, as well as Church holidays (there were two of these Autobahn blockages on Good Friday, for instance). And a few more on Holy Saturday, and, yep, on Easter Sunday (we even had one here in my town, spit). And, being ignorant of the laws of physics, they fire their pistols into the air, the bullets do their Newtonian deeds, and sometimes end up killing bystanders on the ground.
They are leaving a wide swath of damage behind them, and not just Catholic Churches.

Deplorable Patriot

We can have weddings on Sunday, and the Jews do on a regular basis. We don’t bury on Sunday.
Yeah, around here, one of the marathons is always on Palm Sunday and one year they went right around the Cathedral prompting a phone call from the Archbishop.
However, if we do not see the names of the sites destroyed, how are we going to know.

phoenixRising

…”The top networks for primetime viewership last week were led by Fox News, followed by MSNBC, the Home and Garden TV, USA Network and TBS Network to round out the top five.

Put out crap as a product and no one will consume it.

Gil

Hey Pat! Coming to a walmart near….everyone.
Walmarts have been increasing what is locked in a cupboard here in CA. Well they are now going to make us buy any beauty products at the aisle first. So everything is within its own store in the store.
So think on that. We have to ask to get the product out. Then we have to pay for it immediately after standing in line. Then get our other things. Stand in line AGAIN. Then hand both receipts to the person checking to make sure you didn’t steal anything else between the cash register and the door.
Does anyone wonder why they want us to buy online?
What horrible service and then these people might not get their hours to work after this.

phoenixRising

Gil, you are describing another planet…
nothing like that happening in my neighborhood … (east coast)

Gil

So cal…… I told my cashier Im going to show up one morning and the whole store will be locked to customers. I bet theyll want to do some kind of “verified purchaser ” to bypass this bs. Nasty intrusive nanny retailers.

Gail Combs

Sounds like a REALLY GOOD REASON to find locally owned and run stores to shop at instead!

Gil

We have some smaller grocery chain stores, but zero mom and pops. We are inundated with retail from city to city but its all the same stores. Even the tourist areas have similar in feel stores. I know that Targets through socal are remodeling also, DECREASING store offerings and in stock. They are making huge spaces and item zones to trick us into thinking its just a redo. Online or same day delivery is their preference, same with walmart.

Deplorable Patriot

At my local Walmart, that’s an open invitation for them to be ripped off. Although, I wear a brand that’s not available there.

Gil

I understand the small stuff gets stolen but the constant mistrust of customers and checking us nonstop is just obnoxious bad service.

Deplorable Patriot

Umm…in some ‘hoods it’s the difference between staying in business and not.
Here, cosmetics are in a different section with no self check-out, but on open shelving. I don’t usually go in there.

Kalbo

Ummmm. My take is you don’t have to show receipts. I don’t.
– First couple times I asked the greeter person with scanner, are you asking or requiring to see the receipt. Requesting was the answer. Told them have a nice day and walked away. No show n tell with the receipt.
– Now as I depart Walmart, if they ask to see the receipt, I simply say “no, have a nice day”, without breaking stride.
That said, if I bought a TV at Walmart (which I would not ever do), I’d be OK showing the receipt.
So, until that day, nope, no receipt games at Walmart for me.

ForGodandCountry

An important realization from OT….
QUOTE:
“When Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were discussing the “insurance policy” in August 2016, they were not discussing insurance from the perspective of their success, ie. Clinton elected; they were discussing insurance from the position of: if they failed.
If Clinton was elected, great; everything continues as normal. However, if Clinton was not elected THEN THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT NEEDED A COVER STORY (emphasis mine)….a plausible, legitimate reason for why political surveillance/spying using US gov’t resources (aka intel agencies) was taking place. This is the insurance policy need…. This is why they needed the Steele Dossier.”
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/04/22/spygate-and-the-steele-dossier-were-the-cover-story-the-real-issue-is-years-of-obama-era-surveillance-and-political-spy-operations/#more-162824
.
.
.
.
What this means is that the “insurance policy” wasn’t to get Trump as much as it was to cover up the weaponization of important, powerful dept’s of gov’t (IRS, CIA, DOJ, FBI) used against the Obama administration’s political enemies.

phoenixRising

You can’t have one… without the other…
SD is ‘missing’ the point here… They had to INSURE they got Trump in ORDER TO COVER UP the criminal acts……….
Of course if one doesn’t believe there is a plan to UNCOVER these criminal acts… if one doesn’t believe anyone is going to be indicted… then one is apt to miss the point…..
his tweeter TL is filled with other researchers expressing their disappointment with what they call his efforts to “divide” …….
I only go OT to read Patrick’s comments 😉 well, a few others also 😉
but don’t read SD at all anymore …….

Kalbo

Insurance policy was 100% to nail President Trump.
Yes ancillary reasons. But President Trump was, and remains the target.

This paper applies to documents and to witnesses.
CRS Reports & Analysis
Legal Sidebar
The Fifth Amendment in Congressional Investigations
05/26/2017

….As noted in this previous Sidebar, this is neither the first, nor is it likely to be the last time that a witness in a congressional investigation invokes the Fifth Amendment as justification for not complying with a committee subpoena.
As a general matter, witnesses may invoke the Fifth Amendment privilege during a congressional investigation with regard to testimony or documents that are: (1) testimonial (“relate[s] a factual assertion”); (2) self-incriminating (any disclosures that tends to show guilt or that furnishes any “link in the chain of evidence” needed to prosecute); and (3) compelled (not voluntarily given). Oral testimony given pursuant to a subpoena and in response to committee questioning almost always qualifies as testimonial and compelled. Therefore, the central inquiry is typically whether the responsive testimony would be “incriminating.” The Supreme Court has taken a broad view of what constitutes incriminating testimony, holding that the privilege protects any statement “that the witness reasonably believes could be used in a criminal prosecution or could lead to other evidence that might so be used.” Even a witness who denies any
criminal wrongdoing can refuse to answer questions on the basis that he might be “ensnared by ambiguous
circumstances.”
….After the committee has rejected the privilege, if the witness continues to refuse to comply with the subpoena the committee may choose to pursue either criminal contempt of Congress or attempt to enforce the subpoena in civil litigation. As a criminal charge, contempt is designed to be punitive in nature and, even when successful, does not guarantee that the committee will get access to the subpoenaed testimony or documents. To the contrary, a successful suit to enforce the subpoena would result in a court order directing the witness to produce the sought after testimony or documents. In either criminal contempt or civil enforcement, if the court determines that the witness’s assertion of the privilege was proper, the legal action would likely fail.
Instead of rejecting a witness’s Fifth Amendment assertion, a committee could instead seek an immunity order, thereby requiring the witness to testify. Under federal law, a court order can be obtained from a U.S. district court following either a majority vote in the House or Senate or a 2/3 affirmative vote in the committee conducting the investigation. At least 10 days before applying for the order, the committee must notify the Attorney General of its intent. The district court is required to grant an immunity order when petitioned, although the Attorney General can request to delay the order for up to 20 days. Under such an order, a witness is required to testify, however, consistent with the Fifth Amendment’s protections, the compelled testimony, and any evidence derived from that testimony, may not be used against the witness “in any respect” in a subsequent criminal prosecution, except one for perjury, false statement, or contempt relating to the testimony…..

Have you all been following the story about the Mexican military crossing our border and disarming and detaining a couple of our Guardsmen? Eventually they let them go and said they made a mistake and thought our guys were on the Mexico side of the border.
Over the weekend on FOX & Friends they had Brandon Judd the head of the Border Patrol union on and interviewed him about this. Brandon said this situation is one that should worry every US citizen. The story being delivered up to us by the Mexicans via the media is essentially hogwash.
We almost never are caught on the wrong side of the border, but the Mexican military is frequently on our side. A lot of times they are playing a diversionary role for the cartels to smuggle drugs and people across the border. Sometimes it is cartel people wearing Mexican military fatigues.
This morning on F&F Tom Homan was on discussing these situations. He also felt the story we’re being told is unlikely.
I don’t know how many of you have been following this story about the Mexican military coming

From OT:
Donald Trump Files For Temporary Restraining Order Against Chairman Elijah Cummings
“Donald Trump, not President Trump, representing his affiliated private business interests, has filed for a temporary restraining order (full pdf below) against House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings and his committee representatives and officers.
You might remember when Speaker Nancy Pelosi changed the House Rules earlier this year. Part of the rule changes were to modify the responsibilities of the House Government Affairs Oversight Committee. Speaker Pelosi removed all other oversight responsibility and shifted the committee to a singular oversight role focused only on the White House.
Chairman Cummings is demanding the personal financial records of Donald Trump and all of his business interests around the Trump organization. The demand includes all personal and private financial records including tax filings from individuals, officers and corporate entities within the Trump organization. As a private, non-public corporation, this demand for financial records would encompass the entire Trump family.
In essence, Chairman Cummings is weaponizing his government office to target Donald Trump and all members of the Trump family. This is not dissimilar to what President Obama and Elijah Cummings did when they weaponized the IRS to target their political opponents. See: national heroine/patriot Catherine Engelbrecht.
When the IRS scheme was made public in 2011, the Obama plan shifted to use the intelligence operations of the U.S. Government to target their political opposition through the use of electronic surveillance and spy operations. Hence, this is one consistent continuum. Chairman Cummings in 2019 is just a new iteration of the program.
Trump, not President Trump, has filed for a preliminary injunction to stop Chairman Cummings demand. In the interim, while awaiting court arguments, Donald Trump and his business interests have filed for a restraining order.”

A woman whose hair blows INTO place.

Sylvia Avery

Sigh. That never happens to me. It usually just blows into my face and strands stick to my lipstick. But at least I can watch Melania and admire her.

deplorablebcootz

I have the same issue Sylvia, strands of hair in my lipstick and the hair is never the same!!! I love watching Melania she’s so gorgeous!

Sylvia Avery

I know, me too. I’m kind of fascinated by her.

Marica

Hey! Meteor Shower tonight!! I like how Natural Wonders Occur in the sky right before….

Sylvia Avery

Children love her. They just flock to her. And she loves them back.

Marica

Sylvia–I was replying to a comment you made regarding Gen Flynn–and a Red block popped up and said “comment trashed”! I have never seen that before…. What happened??

Marica

Kind of creepy!! and now her comment is back!! 🤯

Sylvia Avery

You know, that happened to me a couple days ago. I had never seen that before, and my comment did not actually get “trashed.”
Weird, huh?????

SingularZoe

Sort of like those comments were being flagged for some reason. Why?

Marica

In case you guys missed this… Pretty powerful!!

Please don’t go POTUS…

“American president Donald Trump to make possible his first state visit to the #UK in the month of June! That will be his first state visit in his first term as #US president to the country.”
________________
Do it without a truly Trumpian, MASSIVE show of military force, to make it obvious that DJT perceives the English political-class, subprime minister, government and queen as an assassination threat, albeit a pathetic one.
Establish combat air patrols, and bring in a whole military division from various American military bases in Europe as his escort, with tanks, armored troop transports, combat helicopters, etc. Make it enough to defeat any potential UK military offensive.
Then act like it was all just normal security measures.
And then use the opportunity to hand out United States military tribunal arrest warrants to everyone in attendance, like whatever was included in programs for certain attendees at Bush Sr.’s funeral.

Deplorable Heidi: “Decent people apologize. Democrats are not decent”
___________________
Apologize?!?
You’re kidding, right?
They don’t GET to ‘apologize’ for what they’ve done.
Saying ‘sorry’ means nothing to these criminals, so it likewise means nothing to anyone who would hear them say it.
They can save their ‘apology’ for someone who cares.
Like their new cell mate.

I know this is one of SD’s favorite expressions, you can find it in some article just about every other day:
……………………………
“The chosen-one would generally come into play immediately after the democrats have set down a larger trumpeted baseline.”
……………………………
As is so often the case, SD knows exactly what he means, the problem is, not everyone has one of those rare and elusive SD-decoder rings.
What does he mean by a ‘larger trumpeted baseline’?
I understand it as a ‘theme’ of some sort, but what is possibly left to the Hellocrats in the kitchen sink that they haven’t thrown at DJT already?
I would ask SD myself, but Jack banned me from Twitter and Sundance banned me from CTH.
Thanks in advance!
Whoops…
P.S. asking for a friend 😁

I haven’t visited the site in quite some time and don’t remember seeing that phrase. I don’t know what it is supposed to mean. Clarity is not a hallmark over there, and people often got yelled at for asking questions.

Plain Jane

Wheatietoo, that is so my kind of music. Love your selection. Thanks.

“They hold up solitary finger, alluding to the tawhid: “There is no god but Allah”
______________
Apparently Tlaib didn’t get the memo, she’s holding up TWO fingers.
And they’re wrong anyway, there are LOTS of gods like allah, there have always been pagan gods who supposedly ‘commanded’ every kind of savagery and barbarism that is common to islam.

Muslim fanatics holding up a solitary finger…comment image

“Muslim fanatics holding up solitary finger are symbolizing “tawhid” or the “Oneness of Allah” or “There is no god but Allah” — aka, Islamic supremacy …”

I’m gonna check out a few big box beer places tomorrow to see if it’s real… Who owns Miller?

scott467

“Who owns Miller?”
________________
My initial thought was that Miller owns Miller, being one of the oldest continually produced brands in America (like Pabst, Anheuser-Busch, Coors and very few others.
But apparently Miller was sold to Anheuser-Busch in 2016:
……………………………………
“The Miller Brewing Company is an American beer brewing company headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company has brewing facilities in Albany, Georgia; Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; Fort Worth, Texas; Irwindale, California; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Trenton, Ohio. On July 1, 2008, SABMiller formed MillerCoors, a joint venture with rival Molson Coors to consolidate the production and distribution of its products in the United States, with each parent company’s corporate operations and international operations to remain separate and independent of the joint venture.
The joint venture ended after the SABMiller operation was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) on October 10, 2016. The new company is called Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (AB InBev).[1] On October 11, 2016, the company sold the Miller brand portfolio outside the US and Puerto Rico to Molson Coors, which also retained “the rights to all of the brands currently in the MillerCoors portfolio for the U.S. and Puerto Rico”.[2]
Molson Coors is the sole owner of Miller Brewing Company and plans to keep the MillerCoors name and the Chicago headquarters and to operate the company in much the same manner as before October 11, 2016.[3] For the consumer, and for employees, the change to 100 percent ownership (from the previous 42 percent) by Molson Coors will not be apparent in the U.S., according to Jon Stern, MillerCoors’ director of media relations. “The good news is that none of this impacts Milwaukee or Wisconsin. It’ll be business as usual. Miller Lite, Coors Light, Miller High Life and Leinenkugel’s – and frankly all the rest of our brands will continue to be brewed by us.”” — Wiki

……………………………………
.
[I am not promoting alcohol, I just collected cans when I was a kid, like millions of other kids in the 1970s 🙂]

scott467

Or it was split and sold off to Molson/Coors, apparently…

Marica

Not a judge!! LOL!!! thanks for the info!!!

scott467

And this one, from 1941, in support of our efforts to win WWII. The background color was silver before America entered the war, changed to white for the patriotic theme:

Marica

Do you collect these cans or are they pics? Either way.. Super cool!!!

scott467

Those are pics I found on the interwebs.
But I might still have a passing interest in some of these old cans… as one grows older, it’s not as easy to ignore things you really enjoyed as a child as you might think it is 😁
I liked old Corvettes when I was a kid too, and I never stopped liking those either… 😉

Marica

true!!! 😅😎 Have you been to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY? Pretty cool!!!

Not yet… hopefully some day!

Jail?
Sounds like county lock-up, like they just need to do a stint at Andy Griffith’s office. Like a sleepover with girlfriends at Suzie’s house.
WTH?
Maximum Security 23-hour a day lock-down facility like the SHU at Pelican Bay, or the Super-Max prison in Colorado for those whose crimes don’t merit the death penalty.
And there won’t be many whose crimes don’t merit the death penalty.
Stop with this ‘jail’ stuff.
What will it take for our side to understand the power of language?
The enemy never makes this mistake, always choosing their words for maximum effectiveness. And besides all that, talking about ‘jail’ minimizes the damage that has been done by these traitors to our Republic.
What they need is Gallows, not ‘jail’.
