Jane, not if they handle it like they did when they broke up AT&T back in the 1980’s. I worked for one of the ‘Baby Bells’ back then. Later on, all the baby bells had to relinquish some of their infrastructure to any start -ups that wanted to get into providing telephone service. One of those start-ups was Comcast. Back then they were just CATV.
By infrastructure I’m talking about giving those start-ups space on pole lines, underground conduit runs, caged areas in all switching buildings (they had a designated space), and also use of the copper wire from the pole/street into each house.
It was a fricking nightmare. I had a large group of engineers located throughout Maryland and Washington DC working for me whose sole job responsibility was to work with those startups in establishing routes, re-designing pole and conduit runs, issuing construction plans, and conducting final inspections before allowing them to start using the space.
All the red-tape, restrictions, and much cost were borne by the Baby Bells.
Your closing paragraph is the best reason why they should be ATT’d. Making them foot the infrastructure expenses for startups is what they deserve for running a bait and switch scheme on unsuspecting people.

We don’t want more govt regulation of private businesses. That’s what you are asking for and it’s a mistake. We want to be able to sue them just as with any other private business that engages in discrimination. They need to be afraid of the money loss and the notoriety, not afraid of being regulated. By being regulated we basically guarantee their existence forever. They should be subject to the marketplace of ideas. And startups, like MeWe, VK, and Gab should have access to the same govt subsidies that made FB and T huge in the first place so they can compete on an equal footing.
THAT was a big hit by WP. I wasn’t surprised because Creeping Sharia was directly accurate & irrefutable reporting. Pussy WP hung back until other social media sites have become emboldened the last couple weeks, and then they followed the leaders by nixing Creeping Sharia.

Akin did not explain it well, but the body does have a “shut down” mode when under stress, this has been proven. The whole carbon thing is a beautiful scam, but it’s still a scam.
Whaaaat? A scam you say? Someone needs to tell Al Gore that. But it makes a fabulous way to assess new taxation schemes, so there’s that.
To the contrary, it is a particularly ugly scam — as it asserts a right to tax your opponents’ very breath.
I’d take a serious run at real numbers before I was that dismissive.
How much of a marijuana plant is going to be commercially sold? Last I checked, sinsemilla buds were the preferred result — stems, roots, and leaves, not so much. So you might have to grow that 2 gram cigarette on a 12-pound plant.
Now, out of doors, that still seems a bit extreme — but what does it take to set-up an indoor grow facility? You need a building, lights, pots, media, etc. — which are probably not mined in your backyard, so you have to ship ’em in. If you use LEDs, you’re likely talking rare earths (which, from a chemistry standpoint, are not particularly rare…..but are a severe pain-in-the-ass to separate from each other).
Then, as you note, you need the power to run the lights and possibly regulate the temperature.
Harvesting, packaging, security, and shipment can add their own burdens. All these numbers are knowable — and some may be genuinely surprising (I should note that I am a CPA who has spent significant time in cost accounting). I mean, the one ounce of unobtanium per acre that must be sourced from Pandora can blow your estimates out beyond anything that seems reasonable [and, I should note, such shortages might have been created. Back in the day, I worked for a company that bought out a factory’s entire annual production for a part…..which our competition then designed into a wide range of their products — and couldn’t subsequently deliver].
Incidentally, if you compare the cost to create and run a Tesla v. the cost to create and run a Honda Civic, I’ve seen estimates that the carbon burden for a Tesla on its first battery pack (est. life ~5 years) is about the same as a Civic running 750,000 miles.

It was interesting to think about how the commercial grow operations are all indoors and are heavy users of electrical power, and to contemplate the effect this would have on (for example) California this summer. I’m not sufficiently curious at this point to look into it further.

I can attest to that because my neighbors when they smoke outside the homes around them are enclosed in a cloud of marijuana stink.
They and his friends who live in the house cannot even support themselves because their brains have been made mushy fro alcohol and pot. That is another problem no one wants to address and those who smoke are in denial because they have no clue what normal is any longer.
Some say for meds other say for spiritual quest. I have news for people to have spiritual experiences one does not need pot I know so. To much alcohol is also not good one needs to be careful specially if one is on a spiritual quest.
By the way marijuana catches up with people I have seen it with acquaintances who puffed away since the sixties. The health problems are all the same and their mental stability is the same.

“…Ironically, America is experiencing an epidemic of young men who fail to launch — millennials who resist growing up and becoming men. They are abandoning traditional male behavior in favor of metrosexuality — shoe-shopping, manicures, pedicures, and make-up are becoming the new norm. We are not making men like we used to; in fact, we are not making them at all.
For example, a recent study published in the Journal of Hand Therapy finds that millennial men had significantly weaker grip strength than men 30 years ago. The average millennial male has the hand strength of a 30-year-old woman.
The hormone that makes men masculine is vanishing from the western world too. Testosterone levels have dropped at least 17 percent since 1987 and continue to decline1.2 percent annually. Consistent with other trends in male reproductive health, men’s sperm count and quality are also dwindling. Between 1989 and 2005, average sperm counts fell by 33 percent, meaning that one in five males will have difficulty conceiving. These statistics have significant implications for male fertility and health, but is it affecting the male psyche as well? Is it possible that low testosterone levels are making our men’s character more receptive to feminization?
Millennial men lack the defining grit and initiative of men from prior ages. Not only are men getting weaker and more effeminate, but they are also floundering academically too. Women are presently outperforming men in every level of academia.
Regrettably, it’s easy to lay blame at the feet of these feminized millennial weaklings, but let’s not overlook the cultural forces that shaped them. A major reason boys are failing to grow up is that many do not have fathers…
many millennial males had fathers who were in the house physically but absent mentally. Although they may attend a few of their son’s baseball or football games, they were nowhere to be found for their son’s spiritual and moral development. On Sundays, many boys were taken to church service by Mom while Dad either remained at home or attended begrudgingly…
Public education is encouraging feminine behavior for both genders. Statistically, there are more male geniuses than female geniuses, but the bottom of the academic barrel is filled with boys. Schools across the country are reporting that their boys are withdrawing from school life and the girls are taking over…
when boys act like boys, many are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and drugged with high doses of amphetamines. By the time boys reach high school, one in five will be diagnosed with ADHD because our schools have adopted feminine behavior expectations. Upon entering the age of legal adulthood, they have been brainwashed into believing their brains are defective and that masculine behavior is unacceptable…

I agree with you, churchmouse, cause I understand what you’re saying. IMO, affluence, easy lifestyle, lack of moral restraints, breaking of family, community and society bonds have all contributed to the loss of “strength” in our society today. Boys/Men are not allowed to be men, and women are scorned who want to be feminine – like our FLOTUS.

Neither the British model nor the Austrian designer had any influence on the boys I knew from them until now, who are all in their 60s and 70s: heteros, many with children or grandchildren — much like those at the Q Tree.

It used to be Boy Scouts, but they’ve ruined that.
My oldest boy (27) is an Eagle Scout. My youngest (22) didn’t make it to Eagle, but was a loyal Scout. Our troop was old-school. It was an awesome experience for them both, and they are real “men.” Now, girls are in, gays are in, masculinity is out of Scouting.
But, churches are starting Scout-type programs. I hope they are teaching traditional Scout values, not just the religious ones, but the self-sufficiency, outdoor skills, survival, etc. It’s the best I can hope for.
If you have sons still in their childhood/teen years check for a Royal Rangers &/or a Trail Life group near you. We drive 40 miles 1 way for a Trail Life group.

Learning how to work doing the sorts of things that build hand strength has been replaced with video games. Heck, just playing with play-doh is not encouraged which will build small motor. (Had to do that with a nephew one summer.)

Technology is a boon and a bane. The children are sitting looking at screens instead of going outside and playing. Their minds ARE NOT developing like they should. Screen time in mesmerizing, and damaging to young brains.
You are correct – soy is in Almost EVERY packaged and commercially prepared food. If it isn’t on the label as “soy” or “soy bean oil” look for it in smaller amounts as lecithin, “flavoring” – even it if its “natural”, and many other terms. Learn the entire list, read labels and then be ready to cook from scratch because it is Everywhere!
Also, if it is less than 2% of the ingredients it doesn’t have to be labeled. Ex: I had a reaction to some fresh baked bread at the local bakery. They used a pan spray that contained soy oil. So small of an ingredient that it doesn’t have to be labeled.
Restaurants use vegetable oils that are soy based or contain soy.
Animals are feed lots of soy in their feed. If you eat grain fed or grain finished beef – soy in the feed. Most milk, including organic, soy is in the cow’s feed. I get a “second hand” reaction from dairy commercial dairy. same with eggs from chickens fed soy in their feed, including organic eggs.
Soy in all formulas to some degree and some formulas feature soy – worse time to give soy to children!
I had to supplement with formula and searched high and low for 100% soy free – couldn’t find it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have made my own formula rather than accepting/compromising. New mom and didn’t know what else to do 🙁
Some foods are labeled “soy free” and still have trace amounts of soy because the allergen is in the proteins so if the oil is free of the proteins it is now a non allergen. But it still has the phyto estrogens and the thyroid irritants. Soy oil also used as a vegetable/food based oil in commercially made food machinery.
For ADHD and similar issues, try also removing canola from the diet (&, of course, food dyes & all chemical preservatives, flavorings, etc.). Yes, you will be cooking from scratch. keep it simple and you can do it.
Filter your water as many damaging chemicals in city/treated water.
Lastly, be very limited in plastic use, esp. for food/drinks. And never heat in plastic. We use class containers for food storage. The lids are a hard plastic but don’t directly touch the food, don’t go on the food container until the container is cold and don’t remain on/near the food when heating. Use glass bottles or stainless steel bottles for water when not at home whenever possible.
All contribute to the ill health of our children and adults as they contain thyroid interrupting chemicals and damage reproductive hormones, etc. — along with cultural and educational changes in “norms”.

I have always very careful with plastic , aluminum and additives in foods. I cook all from scratch and reading what is in foods.
I think the way I grew up helped a lot because we had no plastic or aluminum. I use glass dishes never used plastic of anything except children cups. When I grew up kids used regular cups and I realize when I see a three year old with a sippy cup how we not help kids to grow up.

It’s yin yang. The pendulum is swinging back. We may in fact see hyper masculinised men and feminized women. A extreme return to traditional values. I’m just hoping we can retain our tolerance for the eccentrics and genuinely gay and some compassion for the lost souls of the gender confusion wars. Not everybody is going to walk out of that mess whole. A lifetime of programming is hard to shake.
Being feminine as a woman right now can be a lonely place. “Why are you so dressed up” is something I hear a lot when in casual skirts wearing flats and earrings and a touch of street make-up. For me, that ain’t dressed up.
That’s the sort of mentality that needs to be fixed before things change. Our mothers up here encouraged shorts over summer skirts (which are actually cooler) and we always had pants. Not everyone. I mean, I have cousins who learned to do their nails right next to cleaning fish, but being plain as a woman is somewhat celebrated.

I used to wear make up when i was younger but over time, stopped almost entirely. But I admire those who do–they look polished to me–not “unnatural” at all…well, of course there are exceptions. Some women do put more paint on their faces than my house had…
but pants are a constant for me ever since I was first allowed to wear them. My skin is very pale and my veins are very near the surface–so I look like a roadmap if I don’t wear hosiery and really, if I’m going to wear hosiery, I might as well wear pants.

I truly believe the doc did a doubletake when he walked in the room – he was from Nairobi, very kind and nice. He was dressed nicely too, shirt and tie. Some of our docs don’t do that anymore, and a lot of people dress so casually all the time… I think it matters. It makes a difference on how one feels, but more importantly on how one acts. We’ve gotten so casual – even in church. And then we wonder (well, not us) why society is so crass and base, and our children lack respect for elders and institutions. It’s a circle.
Anyway, I do my part. 🙂
I cantored at one of the big churches downtown over the weekend. Put on a good wrap dress, Navajo pearls (silver beads), etc. The woman who more or less runs the place for Monsignor, said, you look very professional.
Well, yeah. I mean, everyone who does that job should.

My wife and me didn’t raise our sons that way, and my Mom didn’t raise 4 boys and one girl that way either. My Dad passed away when the four boys were 13, 10, 6, and 3; my sister was born 2 months after he died. My Mom never coddled us, she let us be boys, encouraged us to be boys, and we’ve all grown to be fine men with 10 fine sons between us all.
We tease and bully each other and our sons all the time into being better men; we would make fun of them if they “threw a baseball like a girl”. We put baseball bats, fishing rods, footballs, hockey sticks, firearms, etc into their hands and taught them how to use them; our wives supported those efforts as well. We let them fall down, help them up, brush them off and tell them to try again; we coached them on how to be better, and cried with them when it was needed (not often).
Most of all, we treat each other and our ‘boys’ as men, and the women in our lives (moms, aunts, sisters, grand-moms, nieces) do as well..and we will never apologize for that.

The logo, of an American flag with a bald eagle perched on the scales of justice, was particularly suspicious since logos usually appear right below the signature line, but this logo was at the very bottom of the email, below an email disclaimer, he said.

What wasn’t right about it….what was “off”….was that the show infused Vietnam era leftist hippy ideals (late 60’s/early 70’s leftist populisms) into a Korean era (50’s) show. The entire show was “anti-establishment”, where the truly patriotic people with a sense of duty were mocked and ridiculed….made to seem like over-reactionary jackasses… while characters like Alan “Smarmy” Alda’s “Hawkeye” were the ones who were made to seem “cool” and “hip”. It was irreverent towards patriotism, dismissive of and generally negative about the military, cast good people as bad and vice versa, and in general was a PR boon for anti-America leftist haters.
In short, this TV series NORMALIZED the left’s view of the US military and what our military has always stood for. MASH made it ok to hate veterans, to ridicule authority, and to portray anyone who wasn’t “in” with Hawkeye and his bunch as “outsiders” with a stick up their bums on the “wrong side of history

Admittedly, I enjoyed the first one or two seasons. When they changed a few cast members and brought in a laugh track, I stopped watching.
The other thing it did was to ridicule the Church. The padre was a pretty useless character, and that was no doubt a deliberate choice.

I have this weird thing in my head, I think, which insulates me from this stuff.
I watched M*A*S*H when I was young, but I never associated it with the actual military. Or an actual priest/father, or anything “actual.” It was fake.
My beliefs/ideas about things have always come from real people and things. I have some kind of disconnect from “entertainment.” I never met a single person who reminded me of the guys in “Cheers,” I never had one neighbor like anyone of those lunatics in “Seinfeld” (never watched the show, but couldn’t avoid seeing clips now and then), and I loathed “The Office,” because it didn’t match any reality I recognized.
Somehow, we have to teach people that entertainment isn’t “real.”

This is why I label it FAKE ENTERTAINMENT. I know there is a temptation to simply call it FAKE HOLLYWOOD, but that doesn’t TARNISH THE PRODUCT enough. What they ARE and what they PRODUCE are both “fake entertainment”. It’s social change that MARKETS ITSELF. It is not PURE ENTERTAINMENT. It is FAR FROM IT.
Fake Entertainment has agenda within (the manipulations by the message itself) and agenda without (the messages are chosen to promote the CHOSEN CHANGE and not other potential ideas, including RESISTANCE to the change).
Entertainment can stay away from controversy, or it can promote it, but if it chooses to promote it, then SELECTIVITY and AGENDA become possible. They know it, they choose it, and they use it.

I had never heard of Isaac Kappy before he (apparently) committed suicide yesterday. I have no idea what any of this means…it’s all very cryptic…somehow Q/Trump related. He was a small bit-part actor who hadn’t done anything recently. In the past he has called out Steven Spielberg and Seth Green as pedophiles and had some kind of altercation with Paris Jackson. He also mentions that JFK Jr. would change the world (present tense). What on earth was this man into? Did he go off the rails?
In his last posted video he claimed to have done something so bad (a betrayal of trust) that he would be receiving a lot of hate. He states how bad and how stupid what he did was over and over. Something money related. He even mentioned that Q might post about it. He claimed that he wasn’t suicidal but he seems to be resigned to his fate and says that he was now in danger. Listening to this, the potential for suicide seems there, but who knows.
I post it here because there is a good chance this will get scrubbed sooner rather than later…and I don’t know the level of importance it may have. It’s long…about 1 hour and twenty minutes (I’m about 3/4 of the way through now).
Does anyone have any information on what it was that he may have done? Or is this the ramblings of someone who has lost touch with reality? I don’t know…I have a bad feeling about it.

I haven’t seen the facial recognition stuff but I’ve seen the side by side photos of each time he’s (they’ve) been spotted and the resemblance is quite striking. I can see why people might be convinced it’s him.

This is very complicated. The guy made me cringe. At first I thought he was actually tasked with discrediting the movement, but eventually I figured out that he was sincere but extremely attention-seeking. Sometimes GETTING ATTENTION is very strategic – other times it’s very stupid. He was just stuck in the ON position – presumably BECAUSE ACTOR.
He knew some things, speculated about other things, and seemed to be good at picking up sketchy stuff around him. HOWEVER, he was very stupid about leaving himself open to operations and technology that he had absolutely no clue about.
I’m pretty sure he was driven over the edge in a very professional way to discredit everything he revealed to the public. I also think he was tricked into revealing not just how much he knew, but who he knew, who he told what, and everything else. I am pretty sure I know how they played him, too. When the people who he had revealed started getting heat, he was faced with CLASSIC “informant regret”. But in my opinion, his suicide was probably chemically assisted with drugs (pro-depressants, anxiogenics) that would be utterly illegal if they were ever made public. The guy made himself a target over and over, and presented the target over and over. He should have LEFT HOLLYWOOD in my situationally aware opinion.
“Mental illness” is a complicated thing, no matter what the origins (always remember AND logic). The guy was “abnormal” in that he was not anywhere near the center of the bell curve. That can be good AND bad. He struck me as very observant (a trait of mentally aberrant people which is extremely useful), but his introspection was uncontrolled and self-destructive in the end. The guy should have done a LOT of things differently.
– get help
– stop drinking / drugs
– get control of information release
– clear out the risks
– change your life
– maintain situational awareness – the more, the better
– begin trying to UNDERSTAND what you are observing
– introspect without blame, but take action to improve the self
– refuse to be guilt-tripped by others who don’t know your realities, but listen
– accept strong tenets of good, like 100% rejection of suicide, murder, violence
He wasn’t doing any of the right things, IMO.
Look at the commonalities of the people who post here. Look at the degree to which they try to understand things. It’s what Sundance taught – seek first to understand, even if you are iteratively WRONG on the way to being RIGHT. THAT is how to do it right.

It is chilling that PG&E knew they had faulty equipment and did nothing. I hope they get criminal charges filed against them. They caused 18 wildfires in 2017, then this one in 2018.

There were so many weird things about those fires…the pinpoint precision of how some structures burned to ash…and others nearby were untouched by flames at all.
Vehicles were flash-burned so fast that people weren’t able to even get out of them.

I lived there for decades. Wild fires do crazy things. They generate their own wind and can move by skipping through tree tops and over roads. Seeing un-burned homes next to burnt out blocks was common. Alot had to do with the type of roof installed and materials.

Wooden shingle rooves were all the rage here for awhile…because they are actually quite beautiful.
But their flammability made them impractical, so they have been gradually replaced.

Seeing how the route of the Fire closely resembled the proposed route of plans for the High Speed Rail…was another thing that made me go…Hmmm.
PG&E was going to turn power off because of high winds and someone told them not to kill the power,if I remember right it was our own Gov Brown.
Those fires were man made to force a red town to move out and we will never know the truth on it because it’s all about population control.
Alot of the people of Paradise were not allowed back in.
Newspaper had the story. While PG&E may have been negligent, they’re also being used as a scapegoat. Millions of acres have burned in California because the state will not allow brush control, controlled burning, or almost any wildfire protections.
It’s easy to blame faulty equipment by a company so no one looks at the decades of negligence by the enviromental whackos running that state. People get fined if they clear brush around their house – then the house burns down…

Your theory does explain “What Happened to Kasich.” Many thought well of him for years until he suddenly appeared to have lost his mind and turned into a raving lunatic when Trump emerged at the top of the heap in the campaign.
His transformation was stunning. And yet, so many have crashed into the Rock of Trump and broken themselves that after awhile I don’t look so closely anymore. It’s just another day in the life of Donald Trump.

Interstate travel PSA: if anyone is coming through here (STL region), please be advised that we have a traffic NIGHTMARE on the east side of the Mississippi River. The commuter bridge farthest south is half closed (westbound span has cracks in the steel found during a routine inspection over the weekend). Given the hmming and hawing from MODOT, I have a feeling that’s the next span to get blown up, and replaced. Two of the big ones over the Missouri have been in the last 10 years.
So, as a result of this, I-255, for now, 270 west bound traffic has been diverted to the next bridge north with carries I-55, 64 and 44, and is currently being repaired after decades of high volume wear and tear. (Believe me, it was needed. Expensive and a pain, but needed.) Using the east bound span for split travel has not been ruled out as a long term traffic solution which most of us are taking to mean the bridge is in really bad shape.
To add insult to injury, one of the commuter bridges into downtown is closed for planned maintenance and repairs.
So, that’s two out of six big bridges over the Mississippi down headed west. My advice is to avoid trying to go around the city if headed west on any Interstate other than 70 which goes north and has a beautiful bridge less than ten years old. Go through the city if needed. I-44 especially is okay to drive. Yes, there’s traffic, but you’ll get there eventually.
This being high travel season on the American roadways and all, just thought I would throw this out there.

Somehow, he got in, long process, 32 page application, 12 essays, science project, worse than ANY college application, etc. Ranked #5 in the country among high schools. Faculty ranked #1. Ranked #3 among Charter Schools. Okay fine.
When they took their PSAT’s, his roommate only had to get a 185 for National Merit Scholar, whereas Gunner, the white male, had to get a 207.
This is REAL scholarship money we’re playing with.
So, should I have divorced my husband (so I would be considered a single mom), and moved to Harlem in his senior year? So he could get a higher ADVERSITY score? This is ridiculous. And who is making up the algorithm for the ADVERSITY score – someone from Facebook? Cuz the kid who’s the son of a welder in Central Valley, California has NO white privilege…… that’s for sure.
If the top 10% are the ones paying the taxes and leading the country, then it’s time to get out of the way. Let them run. We’re killing our pool of talent in the USA.

A recent little noticed U.S. Supreme Court decision illustrates this latter point. This was Franchise Tax Board of California v. Hyatt. In it, the Court ruled 5 to 4 that the Constitution doesn’t permit a state to be sued by a private party without its consent in the court of a different state. So what’s the big deal? The big deal is that the Franchise Board v. Hyatt overturned a 1979 Court decision to the contrary in Nevada v. Hall.
What puts more bite in the Franchise Board v. Hyatt decision is that Chief Justice John Roberts assigned Clarence Thomas to write the majority opinion. Thomas is an originalist more than he is a conservative. A Court conservative, at least how liberals would define one, would honor the principle of stare decisis. This means that once a decision is made, it stays made. Thomas instead approaches cases according to the original intent of the Founding Fathers. He believes if an initial decision was wrong per the original intent of the Constitution, it should be overturned.
This has the four Court liberal dissenters — Stephen Breyer, Ruth Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan — in a tizzy. What has them and their soul mates throughout the liberal establishment in panic mode is not the particulars of the Franchise v. Hyatt case itself, but the fact that it overturned a precedent. As Justice Breyer said: “Today’s decision can only cause one to wonder which cases the court will overrule next.”…

There you have it. Liberals see much of the radical and anti-democratic social structure they forced on the country through the Court’s blatant overreach threatened. This fear is compounded by the fact that the Left knows that President Trump is likely to have the opportunity to make two and perhaps three more appointments to the Supreme Court before he leaves office.

A F16 just crashed here on March ARB. The pilot ejected. Traffic is a nightmare. The area is surrounded by freeways and homes. It isnt a military area much anymore, quite the run down, crime ridden area thanks to Clinton.

F-16 Fighter Crashes Into Building Near March Air Force Base

A pilot ejected before an F-16 fighter jet crashed into a building at the end of a runway near March Air Reserve Base on Thursday, authorities said.

The crash took place about 3:30 p.m. at the air base in Riverside County, U.S. Air Force Maj. Perry Covington said.
The pilot managed to eject from the aircraft and was receiving medical treatment, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The pilot was hospitalized in stable condition and not seriously injured, officials said. No injuries were reported on the ground.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed a large hole in what appeared to be a commercial building. There were no signs of a fire at the building, which sat in the 22200 block of Opportunity Way.
A small blaze touched off by the crash was quickly extinguished, March Air Reserve Base Deputy Fire Chief Tim Holiday said.
The F-16 belonged to the 144th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard out of the Fresno area, but was permanently stationed at March Air Reserve Base, Holiday said.
A parachute and an ejector seat could be seen sitting in a nearby field.
California Highway Patrol officials shut down both directions of the 215 Freeway between Harley Knox Boulevard and Cactus Avenue as first responders continued working at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials asked the public to keep clear of the area. No further details were available.

An 8-year-old living in a homeless shelter has won the New York State chess championship for his age bracket.
“I want to be the youngest grandmaster,” Tanitoluwa Adewumi, a Nigerian refugee who goes by Tani, told The New York Times.
Tanitoluwa placed first in the New York State Scholastic Championships tournament for kindergarten through third grade — a remarkable win for anyone.
“It’s unheard of for any kid, let alone one in a homeless shelter,” Russell Makofsky, who oversees Manhattan’s P.S. 116 chess program, told USA TODAY.
Tanitoluwa hasn’t had an easy life. His family left northern Nigeria in 2017 fearing attacks on Christians, The New York Times reports, and moved to New York City over a year ago where the boy learned how to play chess at school. He and his family live in a homeless shelter.
Tanitoluwa Adewumi recently earned the title of New York’s chess champion for kindergarten through third grade. He’s a homeless Nigerian refugee who just learned the game a little over a year ago.

Seven trophies later, the elementary school boy is one of the top players in the country for his age group.
