Religion News Roundup – LifeSiteNews banned by Apple, Zack Exley and the "Justice Democrats" try to take over Evangelicalism, Josh Harris from Purity Culture to Gay Pride Parade, Will United Methodism divide? Abortion Extremists in New South Wales Australia, and more…

I’m trying my hand at posting an article on Wolf’s great site. Hopefully all goes well! I’m sure Wolf will help edit as needed. (Hint, hint.)
As we constantly see the political battles and the palace intrigues of our day, it is easy to miss the other news. The MCM doesn’t want us to see the full picture of what’s happening, but only the bits and pieces that they approve of. Narrative engineering is the order of the day.
Felice does an amazing job of covering the stories of amazing Economic news, international trade and diplomacy, Energy news, Polling, ground level election data, and so much more!
There is however a ton of religious news that most people easily miss. Unfortunately, the Left is on the march against anyone who opposes them, and that includes the Christian churches…
Before we begin I want to reiterate: As much as possible I’m trying to relay useful and relevant information here. Just because I cite a link or a site does not imply that I am giving it a full endorsement.
With that said, let’s dive in…
Apple decides that pro-life opinions are “intolerant” and gives LifeSitenews the boot!
LifeSiteNews Says Apple News Gave Them The Boot. The Reason Why Is Absurd.
And the censorship continues…

Pro-life Catholic news website, LifeSiteNews, might be the next victim of Big Tech censorship if their allegations against Apple News are true.
According to the site, they’ve been banned from Apple News because according to the tech giant, their platform promotes “intolerance.”
So it’s apparently intolerant to want to save babies from being slaughtered in the womb now. Better mark that down in your political correctness pocket dictionaries.

LifeSiteNews Alleges Apple News Banned Their Channel For Showing ‘Intolerance’
“We don’t yet know the reason for Apple’s decision to delete our channel”
https://www.dailywire.com/news/50159/lifesitenews-alleges-apple-news-banned-their-paul-bois

“A little over one week ago, Apple approved LifeSiteNews’ application to publish our news on their Apple News platform,” the site claimed on Thursday. “Today, without warning, Apple News abruptly reversed course, telling LifeSite that they had deleted our channel and all of our content from their platform. “Apple claimed that LifeSite’s channel ‘didn’t comply with our Apple News guidelines.’ Specifically, they stated that LifeSite’s ‘[c]hannel content shows intolerance towards a specific group.’”
The Apple News app allows people to follow their favorite news sites and receive updates on their Apple devices. LifeSiteNews also alleged that the email from Apple cited no specific article or the “specific group” they allegedly targeted. The site claims it will soon be appealing the decision. Supporters of LifeSiteNews can sign a petition demanding that Apple reverse course.
“We don’t yet know the reason for Apple’s decision to delete our channel,” said LifeSiteNews Editor-in-Chief John-Henry Westen. “However, at a time when there is growing evidence that tech juggernauts are engaging in concerted censorship against even mainstream conservative viewpoints, Apple’s decision – made unilaterally, and without opportunity to appeal – is frightening.”

NOTE: LifeSiteNews for many years has been one of the most trusted names in news for the Pro-Life movement, earning a reputation for reporting on pro-life issues that has been unmatched anywhere else. When such a highly respected news source is arbitrarily given the boot by one of the Big Tech giants, we know that Big Tech is running scared!
Shame on you Apple for your cowardly actions!
LifeSiteNews.com has posted an online petition. More details can be found at the following link:

JD Hall and Pulpit and Pen released a BOMBSHELL report about the “Justice Democrats!”
Remember in July that Daughn posted a huge deep dive on Zack Exley and all the major players in the Justice Democrats.
{DEEP DIVE : Justice Democrats}
Surprise, surprise, surprise! Pulpit and Pen finds the site where the radical left shows their intent to undermine and infiltrate churches using – guess what? – “Social Justice” propaganda, of course!
Guess who shows up? None other than Zack Exley himself…

The man behind Bernie Sander’s 2016 primary campaign, the one behind the election of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and the one who is behind the Green New Deal, is the one who is behind the ‘woke’ Social Justice movement in Evangelicalism.
We have uncovered archives of his now-deleted website from 2006-2010, in which he lined out how through big donors he could get evangelicals to adopt “Social Justice” and turn them into Democrats.
His name is Zack Exley, and he now works for George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and is funneling cash to groups like the ERLC and other ‘woke’ institutions. The evidence is all right here in this post.

BOMBSHELL: “Justice Democrats” Founder is THE Organizer of Evangelical Social Justice Movement
BY NEWS DIVISION · PUBLISHED JULY 29, 2019 · UPDATED JULY 30, 2019

Exley had a blog—now removed from the Internet altogether—called Revolution in Jesus Land. It has been scrubbed from the Internet, but we’ve managed to find a fix to the problem and pull up some old screenshots.

The Democratic operative and major political thinker spent time opining on the best way to get a powerful Republican voting block—ostensibly one that is impervious to Democrat infiltration—to change the way they vote. Exley wanted Republicans to either vote Democrat or stay home. And in doing so, Exley laid out the gameplan that was taken up by evangelical institutions (whose hands were greased by Riady, Soros, and Kern Family Foundation cash) to turn us leftward. The plan was focused on infiltrating conservative seminaries and parachurch organizations with Social Justice ideologies, in order to change their voting patterns, as you yourself can see in archives of Exley’s blog on the WayBack Machine.
You can see a screenshot below.

Revolution in Jesus Land stated its goals on its website. The following is a lengthy excerpt, but please read the whole thing.

This blog is a plea to the progressive movement, to take another look and get to know the diverse and complex world of evangelical Christianity in its own terms. Here you’ll find interviews, commentary, analysis and other dispatches from all over “Jesusland.” This tour will explore everything from the workings of the local church, to the evangelicals’ vibrant, decentralized national leadership training infrastructure to theological questions such as, “How in the world DO they read the Bible literally?” and “Do they really think I’m going to hell?”
There are two really big reasons to come along on this tour:
First, progressives will never achieve their goals as long as they are hostile toward and ignorant about the faith of 100 million of their own people who are born again Christians.
Second (and we know how difficult this is to believe) there is an incredibly large and beautiful social movement exploding among evangelicals right now that stands for nearly all of the same causes and goals that secular progressives do. Those goals include: eliminating poverty, saving the environment, promoting justice and equality along racial, gender and class lines and for immigrants—and even separation of church and state.
By learning to work together with “progressive” evangelicals, secular progressives will stand a better chance of achieving their goals and also learn an enormous amount from these remarkable people and their organizations that will help secular progressives strengthen their own movement.
This evangelical “revolution,” as one Christian pollster has labeled it, is unquestionably the fastest growing and most surprising of American social movements today. Whichever way you measure, it probably dwarfs the secular left. From mega churches to tiny country churches, evangelical Christians are rediscovering the “gospel of the God of the oppressed.” Perhaps the most surprising among these are the suburban, white evangelicals who are stepping outside of their comfort zones to “get into relationship” with the poor, the oppressed, the homeless, prisoners—the people of whom Jesus said,
Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me….Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. —Matthew 25
They are building houses for and teaching job skills to homeless people, they are creating tutoring programs for kids in failing schools, they’re paying health care bills and sending off rent checks for people living on poverty wages—and there’s even a movement afoot among these people to move their young families out of wealthy suburbs and into forsaken inner city neighborhoods, putting their kids into broken and often violent public schools. And in their Sunday services and Bible studies they are questioning the very foundations of modern American capitalist ideology.
On this blog we will attempt over time to provide evidence, and to explain the inner logic of this culture’s narratives, theologies and passions, and to flesh out the larger context of this movement that is shaking up nearly every American community and producing so many exceptional leaders.
So—welcome to Jesusland. We hope you enjoy the tour.

…Exley, a major Democratic thinker and progressive organizer, saw the handwriting on the wall and discerned the times… Exley wanted to capitalize on this movement and give evangelical institutions the cash it needed to move forward with their progressive slant.
Even though he spent several years trying to figure out how get evangelicals to focus on Social Justice, Exley only did so for the purpose of getting them to vote Democrat (or, at least, not vote at all). See the video below.

There’s more on this topic. Daughn was right to keep attention focused on the Justice Democrats – this group is a deep rabbit hole of corrupt Soros money!
I’m still working on tracking fallout from the announcements by Josh Harris in the last couple of weeks. Last week I posted a couple of articles about Josh Harris, with different but complementary takes on the matter.
My Thoughts on Josh Harris as a “Fallen Christian”

Another Megachurch Pastor Renounces His Faith As He Caves to LGBTQ Mafia
https://reformationcharlotte.org/2019/07/26/another-megachurch-pastor-renounces-his-faith-as-he-caves-to-lgbtq-mafia/
For those of you who aren’t in the loop, let me rewind a bit.
As a young man in 1997, Joshua Harris released a book that became an instant best-seller in Christian circles: “I Kissed Dating Goodbye”. It promoted the notion that the dating culture was worldly and fundamentally broken, and promoted a set of ideas that became very influential with late Gen-X and early Millennials.
The popularity of the book launched Harris into a highly visible position in Evangelical culture. He married, became a pastor, wrote many more books. But the controversy around “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” never quite abated, and later he rescinded many of his earlier positions.
Like the song that never ends, the controversy simply would not die.
This July, Josh Harris announced publicly that he and his wife were going through a separation, calling into question much of Harris’ teaching and published books.
Now he has posted on Instagram confirming that he is actually going through a divorce and not just a separation.
He also has announced that he has abandoned his faith.
But he wasn’t done yet. Further, he has specifically gone out of his way to make a public apology to the “LGBTQ+ community”: “I regret standing against marriage equality, for not affirming you and your place in the church, and for any ways that my writing and speaking contributed to a culture of exclusion and bigotry.”
Why would someone who is having a marriage and faith struggle go out of his way to apologize to the LGBT? Just from the surface it doesn’t make any sense!
Unless, of course, there’s more going on under the surface, courtesy of the Fabian left.
This week we learn that apologizing was not good enough:

Purity Culture Pastor Who Renounced His Faith is Marching in Gay Pride Parade

[I]mages are floating around on social media that have captured Josh Harris marching alongside other homosexuals and sexual deviants in a gay pride parade in Canada and munching on a rainbow doughnut.
…Josh Harris poses with his wife to announce a divorce. Several days later, he announces on Instagram that he has renounced his faith with a “heartfelt” apology to the LGBTQ community. Now, he’s seen marching in a gay pride parade wearing rainbow gear and eating rainbow food. Is there another announcement he will be making soon?

Meanwhile, in United Methodism, Mark Tooley asks whether the denomination has reached its Yalta moment.
Is division in United Methodism inevitable?
Methodism’s Yalta?
July 30, 2019
https://juicyecumenism.com/2019/07/30/methodisms-yalta/
https://2b2gdzjtaey3o01p41qinbri-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/img_7284-1-700×475.jpg

Recently I participated in a gathering hosted by three United Methodist bishops for dialogue among conservatives, liberals and self-identified centrists. Our topic was the impending division of the United Methodist Church. The day-long conversation was off record, but you can read the United Methodist News Service report, which includes my quote:

Tooley said he has opposed division and for 30 years has worked for a “vision of denominational revival.”
“I now admit division is inevitable,” he said. “It will happen of itself, chaotically. Or it will happen through negotiation and some leadership. The latter seems preferable.”

After the meeting, which was in Chicago July 19, a clergyman tweeted: “United Methodism held it’s own Yalta Conference in Chicago this week. I just hope we don’t get too bogged down in attempting to label the various attendants Chamberlain, Roosevelt, or Stalin. #umc”
Initially I laughed out loud in response to this wonderful absurdity. (Of course Churchill, not Chamberlain, attended Yalta.) But this tweet maybe was more insightful than I initially realized. United Methodism will tragically divide, as Europe was divided by the Iron Curtain after WWII. This division results from tragic necessity and shouldn’t be celebrated. But God is sovereign and His Gospel will prevail even in adversity.

Thank you Dora for bringing this to our attention:

Thomas More Law Center Files Federal Lawsuit On Behalf of Marine Dad Banned from School Property After He Objected to Islamic Indoctrination of Daughter
https://www.thomasmore.org/press-releases/thomas-more-law-center-files-federal-lawsuit-on-behalf-of-marine-dad-banned-from-school-property-after-he-objected-to-islamic-indoctrination-of-daughter/

The Woods’ daughter was forced to profess and to write out the Shahada in worksheets and quizzes. The Shahada is the Islamic Creed, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” For non-Muslims, reciting the statement is sufficient to convert one to Islam. Moreover, the second part of the statement, “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah,” signifies the person has accepted Muhammad as their spiritual leader. The teenager was also required to memorize and recite the Five Pillars of Islam. …

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented: “Defendants forced Wood’s daughter to disparage her Christian faith by reciting the Shahada, and acknowledging Mohammed as her spiritual leader. Her World History class spent one day on Christianity and two weeks immersed in Islam. Such discriminatory treatment of Christianity is an unconstitutional promotion of one religion over another.”
Thompson added, “The course also taught false statements such as “Allah is the same God worshipped by Christians, and Islam as a “religion of peace. Parents must be ever vigilant to the Islamic indoctrination of their children under the guise of teaching history and multiculturalism. This is happening in public schools across the country. And they must take action to stop it.”
The Woods’ lawsuit seeks a court declaration that Defendants violated their constitutional and statutory rights, a temporary and permanent injunction barring Defendants from endorsing Islam or favoring Islam over Christianity and other religions, and from enforcing the no trespassing order issued against John Kevin Wood.

Look out Australia, the extreme abortionists have New South Wales in their crosshairs!
Lawmakers Seek to Legalize Abortion Up to Birth in New South Wales
Jonathan Abbamonte
AUGUST 5, 2019
https://www.pop.org/lawmakers-seek-to-legalize-abortion-up-to-birth-in-new-south-wales/

An attempt by pro-abortion lawmakers last week in New South Wales, Australia, to ram through a radical abortion bill has been delayed by strong pro-life and Catholic opposition led by the Archbishop of Sydney, Archbishop Anthony Fisher.
The bill, which was introduced into the lower house of the New South Wales (NSW) parliament on Thursday, would legalize abortion up to the point of birth with virtually no restrictions. The bill closely mirrors similar bills passed on the state level in the United States earlier this year legalizing abortion up until birth in states like New York, Illinois, Vermont, and Rhode Island.
Despite having only three-days notice that the bill was set to be introduced, hundreds of pro-life supporters gathered in front of the parliament building on Thursday morning to protest the bill.
Members of Parliament have attempted to fast track the bill in the lower house. Supporters of the bill had originally planned to introduce the bill on Thursday and open debate on the bill the same week. The bill had only been announced on July 28. Prior to Friday, the text of the bill had not even been made available to the public, giving NSW citizens little to no opportunity to contact their Members of Parliament to express their concerns about the bill.
However, following an outcry from conservatives and religious leaders, lawmakers have postponed opening debate on the bill until Tuesday.

And finally, an update from Dr. Dan Wallace!
From the Library: Decorated Letters in Greek New Testament Manuscripts

Two of my colleagues at CSNTM, Leigh Ann Thompson and Andy Patton, have co-authored a brief essay on decorated letters in New Testament manuscripts. This is in the series “From the Library” that Andy Patton and Andrew Bobo started some time ago for CSNTM’s newsletter. I’ve included a link to this latest offering here.

Excellent post, MichaelH. Especially did not know about Exley–very fascinating. Kept wondering why all these churches were suddenly moving that direction.

Linda

Thank you, Michael. I seldom see this kind of news unless you post it or I go out specifically looking for it. But it’s very important. The left has moved through and totally changed almost every other institution in our society, so it’s no surprise that they’ve targeted evangelical churches. But I don’t think this is all just a recent change. I started going to church again a couple years ago after a decades long absence. And I have to tell you that I was really shocked. No matter which church you walk into, you quickly find that the church is a shadow of what it was 40-50 years ago. We’re living in the Laodicean age.

SingularZoe

Linda, you are so right about how the churches have changed. Good solid ones usually the almost invisible tiny tiny ones. All I can say is–stay in the Word and try to come together with a few like-minded believers. They’re out there if you can find them.

Linda

Yeah, the one I finally settled on is pretty small. But I prefer small. No way I want to join a mega church.

Cuppa Covfefe

Yes. The Laodiceans probably hear the “gospel of the God of the oppressed.” (from Exley)
This is the same “liberation theology” practiced by Francis the talking fool, and part of the dilution and leftward movement of the Evangelical Church in America in the 1930s (no) thanks to Emerson C. Fosdick and the Rockefellers (and the NCC, later the World Council of Churches).
It also is reminiscent of the “Downgrade ” spoken of and fought against by Charles Spurgeon.
The Devil always tries to slip in and change GOD’S Word. And he’s been doing it since the Garden of Eden; indeed, before then, in his rebellion.
It appears that George Soros, his progeny, and the Satanic left are conspiring to attack ALL of our institutions.
But GOD is stronger. And we must put on the Armour of GOD, as written
in Ephesians 6:10-18. Just as with the DEMONcRATs and Antifa, etc. we MUST fight. But first put on the Armour of GOD.
The rats are cornered now, and their time is short. That’s why they’re so fierce. So we must redouble our efforts, and, most of all, our Prayers. That’s something that has been missing, it seems, since the months before and after the election in 2016. We need that prayerfulness again.

GA/FL

^^^^^THIS!!!!!^^^^^

GA/FL

We are seeing this:
No reverence or fear of GOD
No respect or value for human life.
No rules or constraints for behavior.
This is the leftist culture.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God….” – I Tim 3:1-4

GA/FL

The ‘United’ Methodist Church is splitting over the same unbiblical LBGT garbage that split the Episcopal church and Anglican communion. Leftists have been fomenting unbiblical garbage in the UMC for decades – starting with not believing the Bible, not believing in the Resurrection, etc. – then they went to objections by man-haters against calling GOD, the Father, and Jesus the Son, etc. They have been leaning toward socialism as well.
The Presbyterian church split during the 1970s over the Bible unbelief and later over the gay garbage.
The year the Presbyterians voted to have ‘gay’ ministers, lightning struck the steeple and felled the cross at the convention site!
The church has broken my heart and God’s heart many many times.

SingularZoe

FL/GA, from my broken heart to yours, it’s become the false church. The Lord siad this would happen. Hard to take, though. I grew up in the Methodist Church–left it 50 years ago when I saw the writing on the wall. It’s sad.

I was a member of the UMC for nearly 38 years and have served in many roles in the local churches and districts. As an evangelical it was time to go. It has been time for a denominational split for over 30 years as the division has been growing wider every year. There is no reconciliation possible between groups who cannot agree on the interpretation and inerrancy of the Word.

Alison

Well done, Michael 👏👏 we cannot possibly stay abreast of all the ways we are under attack, and I appreciate you taking your time to supplement the topics already covered by our awesome publishers here in Wolfie’s Den.
I am interested to hear what you, Flep, and others think about Flep’s data a few days ago showing Gen Zers as attending Church in greater percentages than prior generations – do you think those attendees are Social Justice groupees trying to turn churches leftwing, or are they the Conservative Gen Zers?
Churches may come and go; parishioners and believers may feel disconnected from places of worship as some of them turn to false gods (ideology) or succumb to the almighty dollar.
But Our Lord & Saviour is forever, and his Holy Spirit dwells in each of us. Storms rage, but we have Peace within.

I really think Gen Z is going to surprise a lot of people.
Keep in mind that every generation has a spiritual hunger. IMO the 1960s/1970s that hunger was weaponized by inflicting the U.S. with a confusing myriad array of bizarre cults.
One of the most infamous was the Peoples Temple. What do you think “Peoples” meant? It meant the same thing it meant to the Communists – it was a straight up leftist political religion:
Jim Jones & Harvey Milk: The Secret History
By ROD DREHER • October 15, 2018, 3:27 PM
https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/jim-jones-harvey-milk-cult-city-secret-history/
More recently though the push has been to restrict religious expression, in the same way that Political Correctness has been foisted on America’s schoolchildren. They aren’t buying all the global warming B.S.!
It’s not a foregone conclusion that Gen Z will fill the churches in droves. But the generation has been spiritually stifled by LEFTISM the same way an earlier generation may have felt stifled by Fundamentalism… If you will pardon my pun which to be fair is in very bad taste, I seriously doubt Gen Z will drink the LEFTIST Kool-aid. The Leftists believed that “education reform” (Ayers, et al) would allow them to turn schools into leftist temples I mean indoctrination centers… it might not work out the way they hoped…
But we must stay vigilant and redouble our efforts. Constant prayer and intercession is necessary.

michaelh

Also, on the social justice warrior front… IMO, all SJW is the KISS OF DEATH for churches. If you embrace it, your church dies the slow death. This works out fine if you already have all of your friends there, but the church will gray and then white.
Almost no one joins a “progressive” church because they were drawn by the power of the preaching, the call of the gospel, or the evangelism of the lost. They only “grow” by converting believers into their corrupt teaching. That is as unsustainable as the Shakers.
The modernist era of Christianity has left the old mainline denominations only a shell of what they used to be. Almost no one follows the modernist strands anymore, even though Bishop Spong has tried valiantly to revive it. Even the “progressive” churches have long since moved on.
Here’s a thought exercise. If you were a Millennial or Gen Z Social Justice Warrior, what reason would you have to join a “progressive” church? Honestly, I can’t think of any reason they would want to. You don’t need a “progressive” church as a SJW to be committed to changing the world. It adds nothing except a religious distraction from the fight against political power and oppression. If they want religion, heck, why wouldn’t they just become Buddhist? What value to the America-hating SJW is the iconic old line Protestantism of America that once dominated the American political scene at the cost of every oppressed person group?
But the “progressive” crew likes to think of their religious system as inevitable, even irresistible. The reason they believe it to have those qualities is because its fundamental weakness is that it is nothing but a white sheet being blown in the winds of the zeitgeist. Seeing the sheet move in the wind they confuse it for strength and permanency.
A more accurate description is that it is a contagion, a heresy that spreads within Christianity. It starts out weak like a sniffle or a cold, but left untreated it infects every limb of the host.

Great job, Michael!!!
A thriving blog is like a potluck — no matter how much of a master chef the owner may be, it can be improved if people bring their best for all to partake.

thetinfoilhatsociety

I have two thoughts on this: first, because I am a folkish heathen (which means that I believe it is an indigenous ethnic spirituality the same as Shinto or one of the various Native American religions) our religious freedom is being suppressed as well. We are shouted down and reported as “racist/white supremacist/NAZI/fascist” because we believe that it’s an indigenous faith, and that not everyone is called to it (though many of us believe as I do, that the Gods are real and have agency, and call whom They will). We also believe that (generally, not speaking for all my co-religionists here) that transgenderism as it is currently fashionable is a mental illness and outright abuse when perpetrated on vulnerable minor children.
Two, LOL welcome to the club. A great deal of what is considered Western Christian ethos nowadays is actually Pre-Christian ethos syncretized and incorporated into Christianity. Atheism is a militant proselytizing religion and is merely doing what Christianity did. It learned. As has Islam. Each is our mutual enemy and ant ethical to the founding precepts of this country. Whatever you may think of me, my spirituality/religion, and my Gods, we are in this fight together.

thetinfoilhatsociety

Boy I do hate autocorrect. ANTETHICAL. Not ant ethical.

Excellent idea Michealh.
….
thetinfoilhatsociety,
Agreed
I am of the opinion that there are many GOOD religions because God realized we are all different. That does NOT mean there is no EVIL such as the Satanists or whatever the heck our Elite call themselves.
Christians (and Jews and others) need to beware of the Elite using their religion to try and control them.
DO NOT FORGET Maurice Strong and his Baca Ranch and Crestone Spiritual Center (He was a mover in the Aspen Institute also)

Hanne, Strong’s wife, likes to tell the story of how in 1978, a mystic informed the Strong that “the Baca [ranch] would become the center for a new planetary order which would evolve from the economic collapse and environmental catastrophes that would sweep the globe in the years to come.” *http://waterwatchalliance.googlepages.com/backgroundonlexam%27sdrillplay

Baca is sitting on not one but three of the best Aquifers in the area, oil and San Luis Valley in southern Colorado, known as one of the most productive agricultural areas in the West. *http://www.aspenranchrealestate.com/listings/0011-organic-cattle-ranch/agricultural-investment.html

(Strong was going to SELL the water but got shouted down by the ecofreaks.)
As Elaine Dewar wrote in Toronto’s Saturday Night magazine:

It is instructive to read Strong’s 1972 Stockholm speech and compare it with the issues of Earth Summit 1992. Strong warned urgently about global warming, the devastation of forests, the loss of biodiversity, polluted oceans, the population time bomb. Then as now, he invited to the conference the brand-new environmental NGOs [non-governmental organizations]: he gave them money to come; they were invited to raise hell at home. After Stockholm, environment issues became part of the administrative framework in Canada, the U.S., Britain, and Europe.
http://www.mail-archive.com/ctrl@listserv.aol.com/msg106963.html

“…On the ranch, Strong’s Denmark-born wife, Hanne, created a multi-faith spiritual center. To this day, it has two Buddhist stupas amid the pinyon and juniper, along with houses of worships for other religions, plus scores of houses. The ranch is also a real estate development, but the houses tend toward the unusual, many emphasizing environmental-friendly features….” — *http://mountaintownnews.net/2015/12/13/maurice-strongs-big-ideas/

Good news, you’re in good company. Freedom of conscience is a fundamental human right. Just because some people refuse to acknowledge it doesn’t make it disappear. Freedom of religion is a right that we all share and that benefits all – atheists as well. The left may try to bury it or ban it, but the right of men to believe cannot be taken away.
I also believe that all people know and understand ethics – though some suppress that knowledge – it was built into mankind. The morality that exists within every single person was put there by the Creator. It necessarily pre-dates the Jewish race and religion as it does Christianity. Where humanity always gets sideways is when we ignore that which we all know and instead do evil.
Resisting the great evil of Leftism, Globalism, Communism, Clintons, Soros, Socialism, etc etc makes for odd bed-fellows 😉 Working with friends of mine on the LGBT problem in my denomination, one of my biggest supporters was a Jewish man from Massachusetts! You sometimes get help from unexpected quarters. Even David, next in line for the Kingdom, when being chased by Saul, found his enemies the Philistines helped him. God grants favor in very unexpected places.
It reminds me of Wolf’s post about Trump Gravity. I believe that it is nothing less than Divine Providence, divine intervention that placed our VSGPOTUSDJT where he is. It is an epic battle that is being waged of good and evil, and it’s for all the marbles. Because VSGPOTUSDJT is fighting for good, the amount of power that has been placed on his shoulders is allowing him to bend the time-space continuum to his sway. People who we thought were on the side of good have been sling-shot out into distant space, while people we thought would NEVER come around or would never be party with are suddenly in parallel orbits, and are comrades at arms. All for one, one for all. Or rather, WWG1WGA.
It is very strange talking with die-hard lesbian feminists and making common cause on the issues surrounding international surrogacy and transgenderism. This would have been unthinkable only a decade ago during the height of the same sex marriage culture war, and yet here we are…
When Wolf talks about Trump Gravity holding things together, this is what I think of – the great Trump Gravity that moved us all from where we were into a radically different orbit is the same Trump Gravity that we keep us held together when they try to wedge us apart. There are a LOT of very odd and different people here. We have all been brought together not because we have anything in common, or because decided to hang out on the same blog, but because there was an ENORMOUS FORCE much Bigger and Greater than ourselves that aligned us all and brought us into a common orbit. And that’s what Wolf is counting on, that a HOT AUGUST SQUALL can’t overcome the Trump Gravity.

Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Wooohooooo! Go, Michael.
One of our favorite subjects too.
We need a file for Exley and the Justice Dems.

michaelh

LOL I’m sure you’re already on it!

Great post michael!!!!! 🙂

Thank you, Michael!
Great job on your first Religion News Roundup!
😃😊👏👏👍
I’ve enjoyed reading the Religion News posts that you’ve done in the daily Open Threads.
But this is a great idea…because more people will see it this way.
The Good Lord gave us the gift of Free Will…and the commies and cabalists are intent on taking it away from us and enslaving us in their wickedness.
I pray that God will help us find the strength we will need for the fight we are facing.
😌🙏

Thank You Michaelh, great thread. Please keep it coming as you and Wolfie see fit.

Tweeted and shared with my hubby, who is UMC. His Sunday School class had a discussion regarding the Conference’s decision regarding homosexuality and becoming ministers. Several in his class were “distraught” over the “against” outcome. He can see the split eventually coming.
We’ve talked several times about “if and when” his church decides to do what the Anglican and some other Protestant churches have done, he’ll leave the UMC. He was born and raised in UMC.
We both feel what’s causing mainstream churches to die out is their social justice adherence… instead of actually preaching the gospel. Nothing in the Old Testament or New Testament supports a homosexual lifestyle, abortion, etc. – but the preachers don’t preach against it in pulpit. When was the last time a mainstream sermon discussed the evil of abortion? Murder of millions of innocent lives – but my husband’s Sunday School class has/had devout Obama/Dem fans. Go figure.
As a layperson with simple understanding of theology and faith, it simply means either we are Christians believing and adhering to the Bible – or we’ve simply made up a nuanced edition of the Bible and call ourselves Christian – but we’re not.

Unfortunately, social justice is now taking over evangelical churches as well as main-line ones, and we have a new one here that is wildly popular, growing incredibly. It’s all works-based.

The LifeSite News news was a bit of a shock at first, but we should not be surprised.
One of the best sermons I’ve heard on the Scandal and its roots was posted on the Sensus Fidelium channel on Youtube. Of course, I can’t find it at the moment and I have plans today. But the bottom line is that the seeding of the seminaries started back in the 1920s. Weakening of the faith was the goal. And it wasn’t just that the men who were seeded were homosexuals. They destroyed everything sacred about worship, prayer, the Sanctuary, all of it. Watering down the beliefs came pretty easily when the people were not surrounded by what inspired to be like God. The music went to crap, the beautiful marble and millwork was removed or covered…it was a self fulfilling prophecy.

Oh, and the other thing, all of the mortifications like head covering while in church and modesty in dress never were recinded. There’s a lot of people, women in particular, not knowing that they are in error in appearance mainly because it is not taught at all.

Hey DP, have you read Aa-1025: The Memoirs of a Communist’s infiltration in to the Church? Quite fascinating. Our family through the grace of God joined a Latin Mass traditional Church that opened up quite miraculously in our diocese with full approval from the Bishop. It has been such a blessing!–The priests are not afraid to speak clear-eyed truths and are very happy with our great President! The sacredness of the Mass in Latin is so beautiful! And my girls have no issue wearing veils or hats 🙂

No doubt these events added steam, but the effects of full blown modernism were already well underway by the late 1890s. The church was severely weakened within by the 1920s and it would have been very easy to find ministers, priests, and clergy who were sympathetic to communism. The reports coming from the Soviet Union during that time were scant and limited, and there was plenty of propaganda to cover up the reality.

Thank you for the great post and hope you do more.
The part about the Thomas More Law Center lawsuit is incredibly important!
Once a non-Muslim writes, speaks, or posts the Shahada and especially the affirmation of Mohammad — that’s complete subjection to ISLAM and if the person later on tries to backtrack — and “being a child” when the Shahada was done doesn’t count in Islam — the person is deemed by Islamic Law to be an apostate and punishable under Sharia Law all the way up to death.
PLEASE be extremely vigilant about what your child/children are being given ay school for “in-class assignments”, homework, study hall, etc. It’s through these areas that Islam is being forced on non-Muslim children.
I’d even include after-school care if it’s done in the school, “college-level” classes taken off the school grounds, maybe even activities in Boys & Girls clubs, Boy Scouts / Girl Scouts, etc. — to be on the lookout for Islam getting a foothold.

Regarding Yalta, this was the conference that settled the position of the line that would eventually become the Iron Curtain.
Iirc, it took place at a time when Soviet armies, with really enormous, unprecedented levels of economic and logistical support from the United States via the so-called “Lend-Lease” program (for which the Sovs never returned, paid back, paid rent, or leased us anything,) had not yet managed to push Axis armies beyond the previous borders of the Soviet Union. And the Sovs took the lead in deciding what the future borders would be!
And in the American delegation under Roosevelt, it appears that virtually every diplomat and staff member was either a closet Communist, an actual paid agent of the Soviet army or secret police, or, at best, very new at his job. Roosevelt’s right-hand man, Harry Hopkins, who lived in the White House, and who has been described as a “Valery Jarrett of the 1940s,” didn’t even travel back to the US with the rest of the delegation, but left to travel through Crimea on his own, where it is thought he met Stalin privately.
Yalta is also particularly ominous as a metaphor for a Christian conference, as it was on the way back from Yalta that Roosevelt on his yacht in Egypt met for the first time with the King of Saudi Arabia. And it was during this meeting that Roosevelt decided upon a pro-Arab, anti-Semitic course for American Mideast policy as it related to Zionism.
Potentially even worse, FDR also apparently signed then a secret deal with the king to permit Arab Muslim students and others to enter the United States in significant numbers for the first time, paving the way surreptitiously for the massive infiltration we have seen under 28 years of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Soebarkah, and which President Trump has not yet managed to curtail.
For much more information on this heinous conference in Yalta, please see Diana West’s groundbreaking history book, _American Betrayal_.

Oh, sorry. I meant the above to be an independent comment, not a reply to yours.

FDR was serious bad news. We’re so distant from that history that very few have any first hand knowledge. He was a 100% total KOM. The scary part, with the Depression and all … it almost worked. The only thing that kept the U.S. from crashing back into recession after the war was the Republicans getting enough power to push out the New Deal economic policies.

Congratulations, Michael! You are the news now!
Hope you will have time to write a regular column on religious news: much needed.

Thanks! It won’t be as regular as Felice’s updates for sure, but hoping to have some regular updates 🙂

I think I accidentally rm’d Valerie’s comment:
I attended the UMC through 5th grade & still remember the verses you shared here sung by the choir (my mom must have practiced it A Lot at home) from some concert they did there…I hoped to find an audio or video version of this song, which has stuck in my head since the ’70s but haven’t found one yet…

Valerie Curren

funny that! I spoke with my mom & she thinks this song was from a John W. Peterson “Jesus is Coming” musical, called “In the Last Days”. This is the song I was referencing…hope it posts…Blessings!

Valerie Curren

Referencing my “removed” comment above, my mom thinks that this musical was something she & my dad sang with their church choir on their Bicentennial Tour of England in 1975, but it was an independent Spirit-filled church, not the United Methodist church we’d previously attended…

michaelh

Wow 🙂 I’m having flashback attacks!

Valerie Curren

Yes. I just listened to a couple of songs I remembered from that concert & thought I’d stumbled on a religious version of the Lawrence Welk show! Talk about a time warp, & this from a wife who’s husband has been a Christian rocker for more than a decade now–yikes!
