Happy Friday! Are we ready for a weekend? We could use a break, true. Settle into our Treehouse and let’s catch up on the news. Let’s see what our buddies are doing.

In putting together the Friday thread, I was trying to come up with something clever. Dep and TrumpIsMine are bringing their “A” game, Wheatie and Triple T are out of my league, but I was at a loss. Stuck, and not feeling it. So, I started thinking…..

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 2 weeks, you probably know all about Hurricane Dorian. If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 3 years, you probably know all about Operation Crossfire Hurricane, undertaken by the counter-intel division of the FBI/State Dept/CIA.

I was wandering around this afternoon, feeling contempt for inept bureaucracies, Allies who won’t stand up for The Bahamas, a miserable press corps, and bad actors who lack empathy for the citizenry, when everything smooshed together in the blender of my mind. I simply can’t take any more destruction photos from the Bahamas but still concerned about friends, like CrossThread, in the Carolinas. I was mad but sad, too. Therefore……… I started singing… and figured it out….

I have the Crossfire Hurricane BLUES.

That was it! When you get the blues, you have to let it pour from your soul, deep, down to your toenails, rattle your spine, and shake the timbers. Don’t stifle it…… let it out. Sing loudly. While I was singing and pretending to be John Lee Hooker, I could put together Friday’s post fairly easily, youtube videos about storm songs, post Wheatie’s Rules, and schedule the post…….. but something funny popped up along the way.

Jumpin’ Jack Flash was the song which starts with the lyric about a crossfire hurricane…. BUT…… the documentary Crossfire Hurricane was done by Brian Jones, which came out in 2012, and made the Stones more popular to a slightly younger generation (Strzok/Page/McCabe). Gee, how did we miss that one?

Curiouser and curiouser…..

Please take a look at this movie trailer for Crossfire Hurricane about the 30 second mark. “The beat was about the White Hat…… what’s left was the Black Hat”……. Froze in my tracks because I’ve been hanging around with you guys for too long. And then, “You have a hero, and an anti-hero…. It’s good to have an actor who can play the part.”

Made me wonder if there was something else there (I’m learning, Wolfie.). Makes sense, right? Found it on youtube. Subtitles are in German, but not necessary. One of the first things they talk about is the 1969 tour and the stop in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where they recorded “Brown Sugar”, “Wild Horses”, and “You Gotta Move”. The later is pure Mississippi Delta Blues……sung by successful English white boys. Why does everyone in DC keep talking about sweet lil’ Alabama? Odd.

Well, there’s nothing in the whole hour long video as far as clues specific to us, but I might be missing something (leave to you all to decide). It was more of a general …. what’s the right word….. more like a general “sneer” to society. One could watch the documentary and see, easily, how it would appeal to people like McCabe/Strzok/Page et als. The way the Rolling Stones were, riding the wave of fame/women/booze/drugs, disregard for law or rules of society, and loathed – then adored by the masses, idolized…. like…. rock stars, would be strangely seductive to A-type power hungry men and women who were the political appointees and their protogees at the FBI/DOJ…. who secretly longed to be cool and sexy.

“Crossfire Hurricane” is the magical point, in the center of a hurricane, where the winds shift 180 degrees. Very few people have actually experienced it, but people TALK like they know all about it. Kind of like “playing” the blues as opposed to really “feeling” The Blues. Yet, as is the case with singing The Blues, pretty soon though, you get tired of all the howling, crying, and terrific bass guitar. Sooner or later, the rain of misery stops, the sun comes out again, and the world starts anew.

It’s a law of nature, the happiness is bound to return.

And sure enough……. we have hurricane babies.

Meet Baby Dorian, 12 days early, 4lbs 8 ounces, born to mom and dad who returned to a dry home, with electricity intact, and a functioning fridge.

Can you stand it?????? They’re so cute. It’s babies!!!!!

While we mourn those lost in the storm, and we may whine about the cleanup……. the world spins, life begins anew….. We get another chance.

Then, a wave of happiness broke out. The happiness was everywhere if you get out and take time to look. Come and dance with me! Who could resist this sweet fellow?

Therefore, while we’re all feeling good, smiling, and headed into a weekend, we’ll take this chance to discuss the rules one more time. Per Wheatie’s Rules:

3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.
