Shampeachment Prayer Thread.

Prayers for our President, family, and administration members, and prayers for our own patience while dealing with heathens from the left. Bottom line, our President needs your prayers. He needs us now, more than ever before.

Lift him up!

Prayers Up !

phoenixrising37

Father,
We lift up our President Donald J. Trump, as many voices rise up against this one You have set into office; we lift up our voices, with one heart and mind, to stand in agreement with heaven’s purposes concerning our nation. (Ps 133). Father, we ask that you continue to guide and protect President Trump, keep him safe Lord, along with his family, as well as those who protect him, those who work with him to restore our Republic.
Father, we pray for strength, for faith that President Donald J. Trump will withstand this latest assault on him and our Republic, as our enemies attempt to convict our President of false Articles of Impeachment. Be with us Lord as we deal with our fears, our conflicted thoughts, false and even fake news. In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen

Deplorable Patriot

It’s definitely not a great American virtue as it is part of this culture to be go-getters, but I like to pray for patience as well.
(And if y’all could put one in for a family member who is meeting with an oncology specialist today to get the full scoop of what’s being faced, pre or stage one, that would be helpful.)comment image

As an *actual* practicing heathen I can assure you the vast majority of us are not leftists.

“I’ll never forget moving back home and a nice lady, Southern Baptist, invited me to church. I told her my family belonged to the local Pres church four generations, and I was baptized there. She said, “oh, they’re the heathens”. Been a heathen ever since.”
_______________
That probably wasn’t the best way for her to say it.
When I was a child, my grandmother was a deacon in the Presbyterian church. I don’t know how that could have happened, because according to God’s Word, no woman qualifies to be a deacon, and it’s not vague or ambiguous.
It’s certainly ‘progressive’ (and my Grandma was conservative!), but it’s certainly not according to God’s Word.
Many years later, when I began searching for the truth, and eventually found a congregation of a church that follows and practices God’s Word, the subject came up about family members who came before me, who might have been in error, and what their standing with God might be.
The way I remember it being explained to me is that only God knows a man’s (or woman’s) heart, and it is God Who will judge, and He is both merciful and righteous. God will decide, and it is out of our hands.
But either way, knowing the truth of their error now, would they want us to follow their error for the sake of ‘family tradition’? Or would they want us to follow the Lord in spirit and in truth?
If the position was reversed, what would we want for our children and grandchildren — to follow error, or truth?
We have a very good and applicable passage in God’s Word on this very subject.
What did the rich man say?
…………………………..
“[19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
[23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: [28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” (Luke 16:19-31, KJV, boldface emphasis mine)
…………………………..
The rich man first asked for relief from his immediate torment. The very next thought on his mind was concern for his loved ones who were still alive, who still had time and opportunity to be saved.
He implored Abraham to send Lazarus, to prove the afterlife to his family, so they would turn to the truth.
What did Abraham say?
Abraham said they have God’s Word, that is all they need, let them read it.
The rich man said his family would not hear Moses or the prophets, i.e., they would not read or believe God’s Word. But if someone like Lazarus, who was dead, went back to show them, they would believe and repent.
Abraham understood, but observed that if they will not believe God’s Word, they will not be persuaded, even if one rose from the dead.
Today we have both.
We have God’s Word, AND Jesus rose from the dead.
I hope, though admittedly without good Scriptural cause, that my Grandma is in a better place. All things are possible with God, and He is loving and merciful.
If she is in a better place, I am 100% certain she would tell me not to follow her error, but to follow the truth of God’s Word.
And if she is not, I am also 100% certain that like the rich man, she desperately hopes that I will not follow her error, but follow the truth.
So either way, those who loved us and who have gone on before us — knowing what they know now — would want us to follow the Lord in truth, and not the practices or traditions of men, which our loved ones may have done in error.

Scott465, this is so very wise in the Lord. Thank you, brother. Very well said. It gives me great comfort for reasons I won’t go into here, but thank you. Blessings.

Secondly, if you are familiar with your Bible, and you are a member of a faithful church, this scenario is a perfect opportunity to inquire about her beliefs and practices, and compare them to what God’s Word actually says, to see (and show) whether those things are so, according to the example given in Scripture (cf. Acts 17:11).
If you are a member of a faithful church (of Christ – Romans 16:16, of God – 1 Cor 1:2, of the Firstborn – Heb 12:23], that is an opportunity to invite her to the Lord’s church.
As Philip said to Nathanael, ‘Come and see‘. (cf. John 1:46)
I would love for you to come to church with me, Daughn.
I would love for everyone, every soul here, to come to church with me 🙂

singularzoe

I’d love to find your faithful congregation, Scott. They are getting to be rare, in my opinion.

scott467

I am on my way to dinner, let me think about a way to send that information safely, and I’ll post back here later this evening.
I’ll u-nlick the ‘like’ button, and then re-click it, so you get an email alert after I reply 👍

scott467

Hi Zoe,
This turned out to be an interesting thing. I’m sorry about the delay. I started the reply, and before I knew it, it was several pages long.
So I cut most of it, and spared you 😁
My thought was to post the website address of the Bible study website which originally put me in contact with a faithful congregation near my home (it turned out there were 4 or 5 congregations within reasonable driving distance).
It is a non-denominational church (there are no denominations in the Bible), and it is organized according to Scripture, so each congregation is autonomous, but in fellowship with other faithful congregations — just as the congregations in the New Testament.
If you wanted to know the specific congregation where I am a member, I am happy to tell you, but it would be best to do so privately, maybe through a direct messaging thing on Gab, if that is up and running now. I’m glad to tell anyone I recognize as a regular participant here, but it would be best to find a way to do so privately.
I did want to find some way to show people that there are, in fact, LOTS of faithful congregations all across America, and in many parts of the world. Probably a lot more than most people would think.
So I checked another Bible study website I am familiar with, which is run by a member of a congregation in Canada. He has a very interesting search engine, and it’s global: http://www.bible.ca/directory/seek.php?type=church
In addition to entering a zip code or country in the search box, you can also click on a section of the map of the world, and see how many (or if any) congregations of the Lord’s church are in that part of the world.
If you click on England (for example), you might set the search distance (upper right hand corner) to 1,000 miles, to see churches in other nearby countries. Or check Saudi Arabia, where of course there are none. Or parts of Africa, some parts have several congregations, while other places unfortunately have none.
If you are in the United States, it’s probably easiest to just enter your zip code in the search box, but it’s also interesting to click on “USA”, and then click on your state on the pop-up map, and then zoom in or out, change the distance, etc., to get a better sense of how many congregations are in your area.
This is the same website Wolfmoon once referenced with regard to some aspect of Christian church history, and this particular website is very useful in that regard. It covers a lot of subject areas. I pointed out at the time how surprised I was that of all the websites in the world, Wolf stumbled onto and referenced a website that is run by a member of Christ’s worldwide church.

singularzoe

Scott, thank you. Agree about nondenominational congregations. I really don’t even like the word “church” very much. In his original translation of scripture from the original languages, Tyndale didn’t use it. Wonder if you are familiar withthe church in London where Charles Spurgeon preached, the Metropolitan Tabernacle.

rayzorbak

Not to brag…..
but I am indeed a direct descendant of Charles Spurgeon

rayzorbak

Charles Spurgeon…..
The “Prince” of Preachers 🙂

scott467

Hi Zoe, sorry about the delay in my reply.
I did not know that about the Tyndale translation, that’s very interesting. The underlying original Greek word is usually ekklēsia.
……………………….
Strong’s Definitions
ἐκκλησία ekklēsía, ek-klay-see’-ah; from a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564;
a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both):—assembly, church.
………………………..
I am aware that Charles Spurgeon was a very well known preacher from the 1800s and associated with the Baptist church.
My original reason for knowing about him came from learning about the leaders or founders of all of the ‘main’ denominations, which was taught (including a workbook / study book I still have) to our congregation. It was almost like a ‘comparative religion’ class (except focusing exclusively on denominations that self identify as Christian).
It was very interesting to learn about the major doctrinal differences between Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, Lutherans, Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, etc., and the the people and events which influenced each.
I am also familiar with Charles Spurgeon because of his strong Biblical and historical stance against instrumental music in worship, along with the founders and/or influential leaders of nearly every denomination, including:
Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Eusebius, Augustine, Chrysostom, Thomas Aquinas, Luther, Erasmus, Calvin, Beza, Spurgeon, Wesley and Clarke, et al.
Musical instruments were authorized for worship in Judaism, but had no part in Christian worship until they were introduced by the authority of men, centuries after the New Testament was written. I also have many supporting quotes from various secular sources (Music Encyclopedias) as well as a Catholic Encyclopedia.
Here are Spurgeon’s comments on the subject:
………………….
CHARLES H. SPURGEON, 1834-1892AD, Baptist:
“Praise the Lord with the harp. Israel was at school, and used childish things to help her to learn; but in these days when Jesus gives us spiritual food, one can make melody without strings and pipes. We do not need them. They would hinder rather than help our praise. Sing unto him. This is the sweetest and best music. No instrument like the human voice.” (Psalms 42:4 commentary)
SPURGEON: “David appears to have had a peculiarly tender remembrance of the singing of the pilgrims, and assuredly it is the most delightful part of worship and that which comes nearest to the adoration of heaven. What a degradation to supplant the intelligent song of the whole congregation by the theatrical prettiness of a quartet, bellows, and pipes! We might as well pray by machinery as praise by it.”
Charles Spurgeon preached to 20,000 people every Sunday for 20 years in the Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. Never were mechanical instruments of music used. When asked why, he quoted 1st Corinthians 14:15. “I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” He then declared: “I would as soon pray to God with machinery as to sing to God with machinery.”
.
ALBERT H. NEWMAN: “In 1699 the Baptists received an invitation from Thomas Clayton, rector of Christ Church, to unite with the Church of England. They replied in a dignified manner, declining to do so unless he could prove, “that the Church of Christ under the New Testament may consist or . . . a mixed multitude and their seed, even all the members of a nation, . . . whether they are godly or ungodly,” that “lords, archbishops, etc., . . . are of divine institution and appointment,” and that their vestments, liturgical services, use of mechanical instruments, infant baptism, sprinkling, “signing with the cross in baptism,” etc., are warranted by Scripture.” … ” (boldface emphasis mine)
NEWMAN: “It may be interesting to note that this church (First Baptist Church of Newport, organized in 1644) was one of the first to introduce instrumental music. The instrument was a bass viol and caused considerable commotion. This occurred early in the nineteenth century.” (A History of the Baptist Churches in the United States, American Baptist Publication Society 1915, p. 207, 255)
…………………
This has happened with nearly all of them. Their founders/leaders were all adamantly opposed to musical instruments in worship, on Scriptural and historical grounds, and yet nearly every one of them today has instrumental music in worship.
Ignoring history, ignoring their own founders, ignoring God’s Word.
Musical instruments in worship is only one of many errors that are pervasive today, but it is a great example for study, because the activity (musical instruments in worship) is undeniable, i.e., a congregation either HAS musical instruments in worship, or it does NOT.
There’s no middle ground, there’s no fudging, no hemming or hawing.
It’s black and white.
It may not seem like it should be a ‘big issue’, but it’s the principle at stake that matters. If one corruption is allowed, then how will the next corruption be prevented or stopped, without the charge of hypocrisy, i.e., ‘you allowed such and such activity based on no Scriptural Authority before, so how can you refuse this next new thing?”
Churches have split over the subject of musical instruments in worship — not because people don’t like music or instruments — but because it is an addition to Christian worship for which their is no authority in Scripture.
This is almost always the source of division and/or subversion of the Lord’s church.
It is those who want to add to Christian practice or belief without Authority in God’s Word to do so, and those who want to subtract, i.e., stop doing something which the Authority of God’s Word says we should be doing.
Those who want to ‘add’ or ‘subtract’ are continually at war with those who adhere to the Authority of God’s Word, no different than secular ‘progressives’ are always the provocateurs and agents of ‘change’, constantly at war with traditionalists and conservatives.
Musical instruments in worship is only one progressive subversion/corruption among many. It has become so commonplace that I suspect most people are no longer even aware that it was ever a source of controversy.

A nun did relief duty in a classroom of elementary kids when their teacher was sick. She had no lesson plan so thought she’d ask them what they wanted to do when they grow up. This went well with sally wanting to be a doctor and bill a policeman. Finally they got to Alice who said she wanted to be a prostitute. The nun fainted on the spot. All the kids gathered round and when she regained consciousness she asked Alice in a quavering voice what she had said. Alice repeated that she wanted to be a prostitute at which the nun breathed a sigh of relief and said oh thank god I thought you said Protestant

scott, wonderful summation.
My great grandfather was a minister for five churches, but never learned to drive. So my great grandmother did learn. They were able to put money together to purchase four wheels so he could preach every Sunday at five places of worship…Dutch Reformed.
My family background has afforded me to be baptized as a Methodist, schooled as a Congregationalist, confirmed as a Methodist, and current member of the 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church across from Trump Tower. And I currently attend services at yet another Dutch Reformed church and the non-denominational Christian services at the Cadet Chapel on the base of West Point.
Oh, and my father was a soloist for a reformed synagogue in CT years ago. I used to attend once in awhile after work. The rabbi there was wonderful!!!
As far as I am concerned…it can be all hands on deck with Our Lord and Jesus Christ! Old Testament and New! And it doesn’t matter who!

You are too sweet, daughn! Only inspired by your thread.
I bounce around a lot at my favorite sites now, and comment less these days, thankfully due to more work…however sometimes, I hit the preciuos cylinders of Wolf, you and the rest of this flock!!!!
Thank you for the Presidential prayer thread tonight!

WSB, love that story about your grandfather. My great-great-grandfather was a circuit-riding methodist minister.

WSB

Well, there Ya be! I could not quite fathom this running from church to church as a child; however, I found this to be pretty regular near farming areas, as in Pennsylvania.
Your great-great grandfather may have had a similar terrain! God bless!

WSB,
And I thought I was bad!
We moved… A LOT! So I was confirmed Anglican Catholic, went to the Presbyterian church as a teen, the Catholic church in college (They had a very inspiring priest) and married a Methodist in a Lutheran Church.
In each town we went to each church in the town, listened to the preaching, and chose the church that had the best preacher. The one who ‘spoke to us’

And like everyone else here I am praying hard for my President and country.

WSB

Wow, Gail! That is some winding road!
My mother had a similar experience in the Catholic Church as a child when her little sister was in a bad accident. She lived with a Catholic family for about 6 months and went every week to mass!
But I love the marriage to your Methodist in the Lutheran Church!!! Winner!!!
And, yes, our parents, too, church shopped regularly when we moved ( every two to three years). They just wanted the best well-rounded church message they could find.
And now you and I both will pray just as hard for our President!
Oh, BTW, I remember my parents having a copy of ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’ on their nightstand growing up! 😉

scott467

WSB, it’s great to see you!
I see your posts OT in the comments section sometimes, but I can’t reply to or ‘like’ your posts OT anymore 😁

So nice to see you scott.
I realized that there are settings in WP I never knew I could change, so I just found I could remain active if I fiddled around on my WP settings. I know it is odd, but there it is. I found that if I allowed more cookies and directed that to my chosen sites, it seems to work. I just need to keep grazing the data, if you know what I mean.
And, no…I have not been banned yet from any site I visit. I make sure not to dance on the bartop.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for President Trump. You have provided us with a champion and we are so grateful.
I pray that you reveal to the nation and to the world the heart of flesh you have given this man, and that you defend him and deliver him and us from evil.
May the President and his family be revealed to all in their goodness, their courage, the sacrifices they have made for the country they love, their innocence of wrong doing, their honor, and the strength they have in You. May the people see the truth and may those who need to fall on their faces and repent.
We love you God. Please continue to grant President Trump wisdom and courage, steadfastness and strength, and may Your Annointing on him increase and confound and defeat his enemies.
I pray that the wickedness of the plots against him and the depth of evil his enemies have engaged in be revealed to all and that true justice be done—quickly and openly that the country might be restored.
Vindicate our president I pray, as You have promised in Your Wors May the snares that have been laid for President Trump entrap his enemies.
May the people once again know and value the truth and turn away from lies and deception. May they honor You and may our land, our people, and our families be healed.
May our country turn from perversity and from calling evil good and good evil.
Forgive us for being lukewarm, for not fully valuing all that You have given us, for not fully engaging in our callings, and for every way and in every area in which we have fallen short and failed You.
Please heal our land and restore us to righteousness and to the goodness and preservation of the freedoms which have been established in our country as a beacon that glorifies You in the world.
May You be honored and glorified and may your protection and favor rest on the President, his family, and on all of us who love and support him and on our families.
Please give us strength and wisdom to know Your will and do it. May a standard of righteousness be established, through Godly repentance of those who believed and trusted the liars, that will glorify You in our country once again.
Thank you for Your Hand on this President and your care and compassion for us. We pray blessings and victory and joy be the outcome of this impeachment for the President and for patriots.
We pray that victory and deliverance of the President be accomplished quickly and may the exposure and prosecution of his enemies also be done quickly and with the full measure of justice and rule of law administered.
We pray also for special blessing, protection, and victory for General Flynn.
In Jesus Name.

PRAYER FOR OUR PRESIDENT, HIS FAMILY, AND OUR NATION
Father God
We come to You before the Throne of Grace with a heavy heart and pleadings for our President, his Family, and our Nation
We came to You so many years ago and asked You to send us a Leader among men to heal our Nation
We humbly prayed this prayer in our homes, churches, and prayer groups – we petitioned You for help
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
You heard our prayer and sent us a Leader who would guide us from darkness to light – and for him – we are most grateful
We trust in Your promises much the same as we trusted in him to keep his promises to a hurting nation
We believe You sanctified him and blessed him with the understanding and knowledge that led to the wisdom to lead
We believe You guided him every step of the way, and we have seen how much you have blessed us through him
Father – he continues to need Your mighty hand and powerful assistance because the evil ones attack him daily
We come to You now to ask You strengthen the hedge of protection You laid upon him, his family, and our nation
We humbly ask You to continue to guide him in his daily endeavors – surround him with Angels to protect him and his family from the snares of the evil ones who taunt him and plot against him
Help us, Father, to forgive them – for they know not what they do
He puts his trust in You – leans not on his own understanding – he acknowledges You in all of his ways – and he believes You will make his path straight – and so do we
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer – we trust You will always do what is best for us, our President, and our Nation
We ask it all in the name of Your Precious and Holy Son, Jesus!
Amen
