The comparison is inescapable. In a mind’s eye, Schiff/Nadler/Schumer/ the Senate Dems and impeachment managers are characterized as the baby killers. That comparison, even if it’s unfair, will happen.
The March comes 6 weeks before one of the most significant abortion cases since Roe V Wade will be heard by SCOTUS. Plus, the Louisiana lawmaker who wrote the contentious law will be a featured speaker at the rally. According to CBS:
Representative Katrina Jackson introduced the state’s “Unsafe Abortion Protection Act,” a 2014 law not currently in effect that requires abortion-providing doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. If the Supreme Court allows the law to go into effect, abortion access could be entirely eliminated in Louisiana.

We also learned from the CBS article that Planned Parenthood plans to spend 45 million in the 2020 election cycle AND Susan B. Anthony Group plans (who is pro-life) plans to spend 52 million in 2020. Various blue states have adopted heinous laws to allow abortion up to the moment of birth of baby, and relaxed regulations for the presence of licensed physicians. The abortion issue will be important in the election cycle, …….as if we needed an election cycle to make it important.

Full Text of the President’s Speech at the March for Life, 2020. (hat tip to Dep)
Thank you very much and thank you, Jeanne. It is my profound honor to be the first president in history to attend the March for Life. [applause] We are here for a very simple reason: to defend the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential. [applause]
For 47 years, Americans of all backgrounds have traveled from across the country to stand for life.
And today as President of the United States, I am truly proud to stand with you. [applause]
I want to welcome tens of thousands – this is a tremendous turnout – tens of thousands of high school and college students who took long bus rides to be here in our nation’s capital. And to make you feel even better, there are tens of thousands of people outside that we passed on the way in. If anybody would like to give up their spot, we can work it out.
We have a tremendous group of people outside. Thousands and thousands wanted to get in. This is some great success. [applause]
Young people are the heart of the March for Life. And it’s your generation that is making America the pro-family, pro-life nation. [applause]
The life movement is led by strong women, amazing faith leaders, and brave students who carry on the legacy of pioneers before us who fought to raise the conscience of our nation and uphold the rights of our citizens. You embrace mothers with care and compassion. You are empowered by prayer and motivated by your unselfish love. You are grateful and we are so grateful – these are incredible people – to be joined by Secretary Alex Azar and Kellyanne Conway. [applause]
And thanks also to Senators Mike Lee and James Lankford who are here. Thank you, fellas. And Representatives Steve Scalise, Chris Smith, Ralph Abraham, Warren Davidson, Bob Latta, John Joyce, Lloyd Smucker, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Brad Wenstrup. Thank you all. I have to say – and I look at it, and I see it exactly – we have many more politicians in the audience. But if you don’t mind, I won’t introduce them all.
All of us here understand an eternal truth: Every child is a precious and sacred gift from God. [applause] Together, we must protect, cherish, and defend the dignity and the sanctity of every human life. [applause]
When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God’s creation. [applause] When we hold a newborn in our arms, we know the endless love that each child brings to a family. When we watch a child grow, we see the splendor that radiates from each human soul. One life changes the world – from my family, and I can tell you, I send love, and I send great, great love – and from the first day in office, I have taken historic action to support America’s families and to protect the unborn. [applause]
And during my first week in office, I reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy and we issued a landmark pro-life rule to govern the use of Title X taxpayer funding. I notified Congress that I would veto any legislation that weakens pro-life policy or that encourages the destruction of human life. [applause]
At the United Nations, I made clear that global bureaucrats have no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that protect innocent life. [applause] Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White House. [applause]
As the Bible tells us, each person is wonderfully made. [applause]
We have taken decisive action to protect the religious liberty – so important – religious liberty has been under attack all over the world and frankly, very strongly attacked in our nation. You see it better than anyone. But we are stopping it. And we’re taking care of doctors, nurses, teachers, and groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor. [applause]
We are preserving faith-based adoption and to uphold our founding documents, we have appointed 187 federal judges, who apply the consultation as written, including two phenomenal supreme court justices – Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. [applause]
We are protecting pro-life students’ rights to free speech on college campuses. And if universities want federal taxpayer dollars, then they must uphold your First Amendment right to speak your mind. And if they don’t, they pay a very big financial penalty, which they will not be willing to pay. [applause]
Sadly, the far left is working to erase our God-given rights, shut down faith-based charities, ban religious leaders from the public square, and silence Americans who believe in the sanctity of life. They are coming after me because I am fighting for you and we are fighting for those who have no voice. And we will win because we know how to win. [applause] We all know how to win. We all know how to win. You’ve been winning for a long time. You’ve been winning for a long time.
Together, we are the voice for the voiceless. When it comes to abortion – and you know this, you’ve seen what’s happened – Democrats have embraced the most radical and extreme positions taken and seen in this country for years and decades, and you can even say, for centuries.
Nearly every top Democrat in congress now supports taxpayer-funded abortion all the way up until the moment of birth. Last year, lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb right up until delivery.
Then, we had the case of the Democrat governor in the state of Virginia, the commonwealth of Virginia. And we love the commonwealth of Virginia, but what is going on in Virginia? What is going on? The governor stated that he would execute a baby after birth. You remember that.
Senate Democrats even blocked legislation that would give medical care to babies who survive attempted abortions. And that’s why I’ve called on Congress – two of our great senators here, so many of our congressmen here – I called upon them to defend the dignity of life and to pass legislation prohibiting late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in their mother’s womb. [applause]
This year, the March for Life is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which forever enshrined women’s rights to vote in the United States and given by the United States constitution. Such a big event. Today, millions of extraordinary women across America are using the power of their votes to fight for the right and all of their rights as given in the Declaration of Independence – it’s the right to life. [applause]
To all the women here today, your devotion and your leadership uplifts our entire nation and we thank you for that. The tens of thousands of Americans gathered today not only stand for life – it’s really here that they stand for it so proudly together. And I want to thank everybody for that. You stand for life each and every day. You provide housing, education, jobs, and medical care to the women that you serve. You find loving families for children in need of a forever home. You host baby showers for expecting moms. You make – you just make it your life’s mission to help spread God’s grace.
And to all the moms here today, we celebrate you and we declare that mothers are heroes. [applause] Your strength, devotion, and drive is what powers our nation. Because of you, our country has been blessed with amazing souls who have changed the course of human history.
We cannot know what our citizens yet unborn will achieve. The dreams they will imagine. The masterpieces they will create. The discoveries they will make. But we know this: every life brings love into this world. Every child brings joy to a family. Every person is worth protecting.
And above all, we know that every human soul is divine and every human life, born and unborn, is made in the holy image of Almighty God. [applause]
Together, we will defend this truth all across our magnificent land. We will set free the dreams of our people. And with determined hope, we look forward to all of the blessings that will come from the beauty, talent, purpose, nobility, and grace of every American child.

It is not your choice to birth a viable fetus – 19 weeks is certainly a current realistic cutoff. It is your choice to raise your biological child or give him up for adoprtion.
RINOs see week numbers in the 20s and get weak in the knees, but just think about it – 19 weeks is 4 months and 3 weeks – slightly over half-way. Not unreasonable even by HUMANIST STANDARDS.
As a thought experiment, what if technology were developed that could reliably support a twelve-week preemie? I would then consider the willful destruction of a twelve-week baby to be more than an individual decision.

I’m not an absolutist about the issue — there are so many edge cases and collateral issues involved in a process that has lead to 8 billion of us on the planet, and countless billions more through history. But there are some serious natural boundaries as well.
For instance, in 2014, Courtney Stensrud was only 21 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to a daughter in San Antonio, Texas, who weighed just 410 grams (less than a pound). She begged doctors to save her daughter’s life…..so they did. As of 2017, the daughter was in a normal preschool, keeping up with her peers.
In 1973, when SCOTUS decided they were God, they could have said…..”y’know, let’s take the youngest premature baby in the US who made it to five, take that many weeks of gestation, subtract a week to be sure, and have a ‘Federal Right to Life’ at that point. And, in the spirit of the 10th Amendment, let’s say that any abortion earlier than that many weeks is the business of individual states.” Instead, we got emanations and penumbras and trimesters and Federal intrusion into health at all levels.
The thought that Baby Stensrud is running around with other kids, playing tag, and there are “pro-choice” activists like VA’s Governor Northam who advocate killing other potentially viable and healthy babies more developed than she was, is nauseating.
Some frank talk which has bearing on NANNY a.k.a. MINI MIKE and his attempt to go after our VSGPOTUS on the “women’s health” issue.
First of all, Mini Mike is sensitive on the “NANNY” label, so he’s trying to find the one place he thinks he can turn this around on Trump – a place where regulation is JUSTIFIED BY HIS OPPONENT (PDJT) – and that is here – abortion. But NANNY wants it to be about the Orwellian scaremonger idea of “women’s health”.
First – a look from the standpoint of FEMINISM ITSELF being a MIXED BAG FOR WOMEN.
The dehumanizing and Orwellian errors of Third Wave Feminism, like infanticidal abortions, are precisely what the opponents of Second Wave Feminism were worried about. Abortion horrors are at the top of the list.
Abortion is not really an issue of feminism – it’s an issue of feminist overreach into STALINISM. Stalin and his rapey, Clintonoid buddy Beria, loved them some abortion – basically as contraception.
For better or worse, Roe v. Wade “waded in” with judicial activism and tried to create battle lines inside abortion, largely to protect CONTRACEPTION, which is the “scare nucleus” within the “women’s heath” euphemism.
Always remember – DEMOCRATS use “women’s health” just like they use “white nationalist” – a term of multiple misdirection, that only works thanks to the LYING, SNEAKY, PROPAGANDIZING FAKE NEWS MEDIA.
Conservatives did not get smart on Roe v. Wade for YEARS, when they finally figured out how strong it was on late-term abortions. Likewise abortionists by that time had actually created a horrorshow capable of illustrating WHY “enforcement” of Roe v. Wade was needed on late-term abortion.
Anyway, Nanny and his CHINESE MASTERS are not stupid. They are going to try to get Trump to retreat on LIFE, by trying to finagle things near the “critical point” where the CORE of “women’s health” makes women nervous – which was typified by the three-way battle of Judge Roy Moore, Luther Strange, and Doug Jones. Our VSG sees exactly how to play this tricky ground.
We have LEARNED the hard way to TRUST TRUMP when the fighting gets tough.
For example, on LIFE, our VSG is not retreating – he is EMBRACING. “Nanny” cannot go there. All of Nanny’s protestations, tricks, and mealy-mouthed luring will not drag our VSG onto sinking sand, because our man is STANDING ON PRINCIPLES and even more importantly STANDING FOR PRINCIPLES.
Standing harder in the line of fire seems counter-intuitive, but we don’t call him VSG for nothing. Most politicians running for cover when attacked like this. NOT OUR VSG!!!

Notice how POTUS’ video on Life focuses on the Declaration of Independence’s “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness”? Looks like that’s the route he is going to take. Historically, legal pundits have avoided this argument. Using this route to ending abortion, saying, it wasn’t intended to relate to the question of abortion.
But it is exactly the point abortion can be contested on. LIFE. Life of an adult? A child? An infant? An unborn child? When does Life begin?
The Founders would never have accepted the concept of aborting the unborn – life was too precious, lives lost too easily. Most infants, if they survived birth, they barely made it out of childhood. Infant mortality was high!
Even without deep adherence to organized religion, the deists would have seen abortion as abhorrent and unacceptable. Life and Liberty were dear to the Founders, it’s why slavery almost was abolished in the New Republic. Almost.

Children are frequently further along than people think they are. One of my earliest memories is from a department store with my mom. She was shopping for clothes or something, so I was completely bored…..and wandered off, seeking the secret knowledge. I would crawl under display tables, look through cabinets…..fortunately for the store, this was long before computerization. And, when I discovered something, I went triumphantly back to mom.
One of the two clues in this memory as to how young I was is that I had trouble pronouncing the word, “escalator” — the other is that I had to reach up to tug on her dress and get her attention.
She looked almost straight down at me, and I looked almost straight up at her face, and asked: “do you know what happens when you push the red button on the escalator?” And I remember how the expression on her face changed from a goofy maternal fondness to a “he’s going to tell me” dread — it started on one side, and quickly moved across her face to the other. “It stops!” I continued — knowing that my mother and I were then more closely bonded in a shared knowledge that few in the building also possessed.
…..and, then, we went to find the floor manager. Fortunately, nobody had been on it at the time.
But when I see a mother walking around with a kid that size, I sometimes tell that story. Something she does today might be one of her child’s first memories.
I’ve attended the March for Life twice. It has an energy like no other gathering.
Determination, joy, affirmation of life, a camaraderie with others who embrace the culture of life, not death.
No matter how cold, you feel warm. All the churches are open and the volunteers are so kind and helpful.
Coffee is always hot, the donuts need replenishing a lot!
I remember the first time, when we got to the Supreme Court steps, I looked up and got such a dreadful feeling. It felt as if I was in the presence of a massive stone idol that stared implacably down on us. I’ve never forgotten it.
Roe versus Wade is a terrible stain upon our highest court.
Speaking of SCOTUS – wonder if adoptive parent, Chief Justice Roberts, will or has ever spoken or even attended the Walk for Life?
Roe vs Wade is a foul decision and SCOTUS had no right to make it. Every pregnancy is preventable, except rape, but rape doesn’t invalidate a child’s life. There are tens of thousands loving waiting to adopt a baby. The waiting list is at least 5 years long.

Charles Spurgeon also discomfited more than a few. But he made people think; and they were convicted of and by their deeds, in their minds and in their hearts.

My wife and 3 of my kids will be marching. My 13 year old son and 15 year old daughter were gloating that they get to see President Trump in person before I do. My oldest son in colleges coming separately with his college and plans on meeting them there.

Most people do not know the name Dennis Vacco. He was the Republican Attorney General of New York state from 95 thru 98. Vacco was an excellent lawyer and a man with a VERY bright future, maybe even presidential.
But when running for re-election, he was persuaded to reject support from the Right to Life Party. The RTL party had endorsed him the first time, when he won. Who knows exactly why he rejected RTL, but he had a couple of very suspect advisors and the talk was that they persuaded him he needed to attract “suburban women,” who supposedly loved abortion.
The TRL party was small, but had over 50, 000 enrolled voters. Vacco lost the election by 19, 000.
I am not sure what lesson to draw from that, but I will say I am ECSTATIC that VSG is remaining loyal to pro-life people.
No offense intended toward suburban women, (I’m one) but that term really is cover for white, liberal, more affluent women who want to have sex without consequence.
The fact that these same elitist liberals can use it to enact their eugenics agenda without the poor/minorities realizing it, is a plus for the social engineering folks.

The bill to provide protection to those born alive after a botched abortion. He thinks in reality there are 300 votes to pass it out of the House, but Pelosi won’t bring it up for a vote.
I believe that would also affect those born, and then no abortion done after birth.
You can’t write a law on that one LP. If a mother gives birth “willingly” then the child born alive is immediately subject to all rights and privileges of any citizen – including “life”. (isn’t that a crazy thing that I have to even say that!). The ethical gibberish that an attempted abortion resulting in a living human is “different” somehow is an abomination. But, you cannot have an “abortion” when the child is born in the normal course – it’s murder then – as it is in the case of an abortion also but . . . .
It’s murder to take a life after being born alive. The Left is trying to pretend it isn’t… but this is something the Supreme Court will have to address.

In Big Evangelical circles he’s known for writing a short book “Radical” which talked about how Christians should stop pursuing the American dream. The cover graphic was a house flipped upside down. The promise of the book was to pursue deeper holiness and service to God through devotion. IMO it ended up being a rehash of Pietism with a side of guilt and/or self-reward for one’s superior devotion.
Platt went on to become interested in the international missions movement, continuing the theme that Christians should suffer and not pursue worldly possessions, particularly when other parts of the world are suffering for the gospel. That of course drew him enough attention to become the youngest person to serve as head of the International Mission Board.
IMO IMB is a tire fire ATM. They have many problems, not all are public, including a major data breech(!). Platt IIRC was asked to resign.
Recently Platt was criticized for allowing VSGPOTUS to come to his church and for praying for the President. Platt ended up apologizing for praying for the POTUS, b/c OBVIOUSLY it was inappropriate for him to mix politics with the Christian practice, or be seen praying for a SINNER like POTUS….
Platt’s devoted practice of NeoMarxism masquerading as Evangelical practice is a template for how Big Evangelicalism is being moved toward the political left. I have no doubt of his sincerity of belief – but sincerity itself is not sufficient. His speaking at the March for Life may be genuine, and/or it may be perception management to show he is true to core Evangelical beliefs, but meanwhile be aware of any subtle NeoMarxist themes when he speaks.
