20200214: Dear KMAG Open Thread

Happy Valentine’s Day, QTreepers! Welcome to Friday and the Daily Open Thread. Special treats for Valentine’s Day! Volume UP! Expanded holiday version!

President Ronald Reagan jumped out of his limousine to stop in a local pharmacy to buy Nancy a Valentine’s Day card. It’s tough to shop for your sweetie when you’re the leader of the free world.

We don’t believe in political correctness at QTree. Free Speech is practiced here. ENJOY IT. Use it or lose it. Important Guidelines are outlined here in the January 1st open thread, with an addendum on 20191110. In other words, please keep it SOMEWHAT civil. We have a new board – actually a new SITE – called The U Tree – where people can take each other to the woodshed without fear of censorship or moderation. This board will remain a REFUGE for those who need civility, either some or all of the time. We’re glad you’re joining us for Valentine’s Day. Come and Get Your Love!

QTree has grown. Have you noticed? We are the news now. It’s a wonderful thing. No, You’ll Never Find……….. another site like Q Tree. We’re the ones who loves you, and there’s no one else!

It’s Valentine’s weekend and time for a special meal, little bit of tenderness, with those you love most. Remember, when we were kids, we had to give Valentines to the WHOLE class. Play nicely. Let Your Love Flow!

Although….. there is not a whole lotta love going on in New Hampshire this week after the primary. We said goodbye to Duval Patrick, Andrew Yang, and the Governor Bennett, as they dropped out of the race. Guess that’s One Less Bell to Answer, or maybe we should just Kiss and Say Goodbye, or maybe we should just Turn Them Loose. Can we add Nervous Nancy and Cryin’ Chuck to the list? :

Of course we do get Hope Hicks back to the White House, announced this week.

Heaven Must be Missing an Angel named Hope Hicks, but When You’re In Love With A Beautiful Woman…… it’s hard. Yet, Hope is easy to be around. She’s happy, competent, with razor wit when it comes to protecting our President and dealing with the media. Hope is sweet, she’s kind, nice, ….. She’s Our Candy Girl. We’re just happy she is home.

Yes, the Trump White House is blessed with beautiful women who are far more than a mere pretty face. None is more spectacular than Melania. What a breath of fresh air she brings to the country.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had such an elegant First Lady, and “We Can’t Take Our Eyes Off of Her”. She’s just too good to be true, pardon the way that we stare.

SPEAK THE FIVE WORDS BOLDLY TO OUR PRESIDENT!, “I AM PRAYING FOR YOU!“ He needs our prayers and help more than ever before! ….. and unlike others, we mean it!! The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I say a little prayer……..

Of course, this Valentine’s Day we’re reminded of how much we love our President. Have you seen the stock market lately, the economy, the new business starts, the employment numbers, the way the country is working more efficiently? “Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People.” Candidate Donald J Trump

He came along and everything started to hum………….. BUT ~~~~ The best is yet to come. Yes, we’re ready for 2020! President Trump did it HIS WAY! He takes those slings and arrows for us. And our Hearts Are on Fire. The love for our country is ALIVE!

Special tribute to all the men of QTree! We love you guys. Glad you are here, rock solid, as our base. You’re still the ones that make us laugh, still the ones which are our better half….. We’re still havin’ fun, and you guys are still the ones!

Don’t you wish we could all vote tomorrow?

Remember Wheatie’s Rules:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone.

See you all on Saturday morning at Wheatie’s Treehouse!

Sweet!!

Rodney Short

Oh yeah, but it should of been a Ford…
Dale Jr ruined NASCAR for me when he got political.
I sure do hope politics dont ruin the only major pastime that hasn’t been tainted. This might be a good year for me to pick a new driver, who knows but I can tell ya this—–> he will be driving a Ford lol.

realsauce

Heh,, already tainted if not ruined for me…
They will be running electric cars approx. 3 years before they go out of business…caused by them going to electric cars… chasing climate justice virtue from a bunch of people who don’t give a shit about the sport (and who would be just as happy with tat result, going out of business).
…..whether that’s 10 or 20 years from now who knows

Rodney Short

Liberals ruin everything they touch, I have not watched any games in over 6 years.
I gave up on NASCAR when Dale Jr opened his yak about immigration, that did it for me because he gets paid to drive not talk politics.

Deplorable Patriot

NASCAR ruined NASCAR with restrictor plates and single file restarts.
Bo-RING.

rayzorbak

Single file re-starts?
Haven’t seen one of those in years 🙂
Restricter plates are only on the superspeedways where speeds are already over 200 mph.
Much faster and they would literally “Fly”.
Daytona crashes are the best.

Deplorable Patriot

IDK, when I still watched, Talladega crashes were my favorite.

rayzorbak

Daytona and Tallagega are BOTH “Superspeedways”….
so, the crashes are comparable.

Rodney Short

So true DP, so true.

Deplorable Patriot

I never really cared for the short tracks, but would plan to stay home for anything at Daytona, Talladega and Atlanta, and then the races just got boring. I liked the idea of the flap package that put the cars back on the ground, but single file restarts???????

Rodney Short

I went to Daytona 5 times always in the infield, the company I worked for would take us guys and rent 4 RV’s for us. I missed the year Dale Earnhardt died because I had to bury my daughter, that is a day I will never forget watching that race the day after we buried Nichole.

Deplorable Patriot

I’m sorry to hear that.
My dad’s sister lives in Ormond Beach. They always tried to be out of town race week. My uncle was a physician, so that didn’t always work out.

Rodney Short

Ormond Beach is awesome.
When my moms mom was still alive my Uncle Roy used to come from England every year for the Daytona 500 he never missed it. Things were never the same after Grandmother died, her brother, uncle Roy turned out to be a real prick towards us all.

rayzorbak

I actually like the car……
Driver?
Near Last Place as usual.
His son will finish better.
I’ll be watching the races both Saturday and Sunday.

Rodney Short

Brother I am so out of touch with NASCAR I really dont know who’s who anymore.
I did like Truex Jr but now I am unsure lol.
I really think the death of Dale Earnhardt changed the racing I once knew.

rayzorbak

Truex is good. A couple of young guns too.
Bill Elliot’s son is one of them. Watch the Toyotas

Rodney Short

Whoda ever imagined Toyota’s in NASCAR lol

rayzorbak

I hear Dodge will be back next year…….

wheatietoo

I just love it that Pres Trump is going to be at this year’s Daytona 500!
How cool is that!
😀😁

🦋🤸‍♀️🦋bflyjesusgrl🦋🤸‍♀️🦋

He’s one of us. He’s REAL people. He’s Regular people.
REAL Regular Americans enjoy the Daytona 500!
And football games, and UFC bouts, and rallies, and fireworks, and parades,
AND HAMBURGERS!!!
We love our POTUS!!!💕💖💕

Sylvia Avery

It’s pretty awesome!!!!!!!

realgaryseven

kalbokalbs: just to be clear, the Trump/Pence car is racing Saturday, not in the Daytona 500 on Sunday, correct? Is there a link to watch the Saturday “Not Tired of Winning” race with this car? Asking because I refuse to pay for state media (cable/broadcast) fake news. It would be awesome if RSBN would cover it.

kalbokalbs

Real Gary,
Believe you are correct. Appreciate the correction.
Trump car will run February 15th, Saturday.
– Daytona 500 Sunday.
It is right in the press release…which I blew through too quickly.

kalbokalbs

Same here, no cable or DirectTv. Hoping it’ll be available via Internet or antenna.

Night and God bless y’all…

rayzorbak

Nice Ballad, But this is more my style 🙂

Rodney Short

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the big hair bands, thanks for the reminder Razor

rayzorbak

No problem…..
Hair Bands are my Forte. 🙂

Rodney Short

They are Kimi’s to, before she met me her bio said she wanted a long haired rocker man, she ended up with a balding swamp jumper lol.
Growing up I was mostly into Bluegrass and old school country if I ever listened to music because I was busy working for my Gramps on his masonry crew,he started working me at the age of 9 on weekend jobs and it went on into a career of masonry and concrete. After work we all did our own lil Bluegrass jam session,I used to play the banjo and mandolin when I was a youngun.

rayzorbak

Increased RESPECT for you friend.
Concrete and Masonry….. I’ve done it
Jammin with the Buds is always fun.
Give me a Les Paul and a Distortion pedal and a Big Amp and off we’d go.
I cut off my long hair about 10-15 years ago so now I would need a wig. 🙂

Rodney Short

Les Paul and a distortion pedal and big amp turned up to 11 your talking Kimis language lol she is obsessed with Zakk Wylde and now Jesse James Dupree.
We seen Black Label Society 8 times and did meet n greet once and just recently Kimi went to PA to see Jackyl, she had VIP pass for Jackyl and got to do shots with Jesse on the tour bus. Her life revolves around music and all types except that rap shit and what they call new country.

rayzorbak

I call that rap shit: C-rap

Rodney Short

Amen brother I cant listen to that crap.

rayzorbak

Poetry (if you can call it that) to a drum beat.
And……
The Lyrics SUCK!

Rodney Short

My baby brother turned me on to this guy he does a lil of everything and hes all bout the 2nd amendment and President Trump.

He does some of what my lil brother calls Hillbilly rap and I have listened to the message this kid sends. liberals better worrie bout us redneck boys from the south, most of us armed to the brim.

Last night, we had a discussion about Tucker Carlson mentioning Hong Kong and the coronavirus being transmitted via pipes. The idea was discussed here but I think seen as unlikely.
Okay. First problem is TV. It never really tells you anything, it just skims the surface. Second problem is we applied our Western ideas of plumbing to the situation.

Here’s a link, with pictures. If your toilet vent pipe is disconnected so that the aerosolized virus laden fecal matter floats around your apartment…………….it is easy to see how the virus could spread that way……..

TheseTruths

This juror in the Roger Stone case lied under oath about knowing who he was. The case should be thrown out, and she should be prosecuted.

TheseTruths

In the portion of the deposition presented, she doesn’t say she doesn’t know who Roger Stone is, but the inference is that she has only heard of him peripherally (“in the background”) and is not aware of anything significant about him. But her tweet indicates that she knows exactly how significant he is. Looks like perjury to me.
I also think that that one paragraph looks deceptive. Whenever people say what they don’t or didn’t do, when asked a direct question, they are trying to weave a narrative. I doubt that, even if she watched CSPAN, she would have learned anything about Roger Stone. So, smokescreen.

rayzorbak

Notice in her tweet:

Found an interesting tidbit in the replies to this tweet by Benny Johnson.

https://twitter.com/cherokeedaksi/status/1228104780045787136?s=20
.
Text from Benny Johnson:
BREAKING
Documents reveal DNC was “intimately involved” in Development of troubled Iowa Caucus App
Text from Undercover Huber:
“According to the source who worked on the caucus, the DNC did have Shadow work with an outside cybersecurity firm [chosen by the DNC]”
— wonder who they are?
Text from My Voice and Vote Matters:
Area 1 Security, Yonder … former CROWDSTRIKE people …
Truly frightening how they’ve infiltrated+control our govt and public discourse. Investigate Jonathan Morgan, CEO of New Knowledge (now called Yonder) based in Austin TX & funded by/connected to shadowy DNC/Soros/Crowdstrike sources was VERY active in 2016; gearing up for 2020.
……………… End text.
Okay, so…former CrowdStrike people are now with similar type outfits, called:
— Yonder
— Area 1 Security
And the DNC is using these ‘cybersecurity firms’ in this year’s elections.
For what?
To count votes?
To create APPs to count votes?
Hmm. 😕😬

Austin, TX.
A leftist mecca deep in the heart of Texas. Many leftists confess that while they can’t stand Texas (meaning: conservative Republicans) they would love to live in Austin. They trademarked the term “Keep Austin Weird” which other cities have ripped off since.
Summers in Austin are 100+F (~40C) – not exactly the best place for disaffected Left Coast elites.
But Austin is a major technology hub. Some describe Austin as Texas’ Silicon Valley. That’s a stretch – Houston, DFW, San Antonio have a history of high tech, in some cases dating back to the oil boom years well before “Silicon Valley” was a thing. Nevertheless Austin is a major tech and investment hub.
Oddly, when Amazon was searching for a place to found HQ2, they ended up passing over Austin for NY. IMO, thinking as an elite leftist, Austin would’ve been a better choice given its central location in the U.S. and exceedingly friendly tax climate (meaning: cronyism would’ve gotten them amazing tax breaks). The other Amazon Prime location I foresaw was D.C. to maximize their DC/NOVA influence. Austin seems a better culture fit for WA-state transplants than NY or DC/NOVA. But the biggest advantage of Austin is the close proximity to the state government (meaning: cronyism and policy favoring). Amazon could have had an outsize influence on Texas politics as a result, which could have been very favorable to them. Of course, I wasn’t hurt that Amazon passed over Texas, because I really didn’t want them here (NIMBY). Texas is a big state, but that’s a little too close for comfort, and Amazon can’t be trusted to do anything except what’s in Amazon’s best interests.
That brings us back to our story, where Austin of course is a startup hub and investment center for a number of cybersecurity firms. I’ve been recruited by some of the Austin firms in the past, FWIW. But I don’t like joining a cybersecurity company not knowing who the people are behind it or what I might be getting into. Not everyone is ethically on the up and up. IMO “Gone to Texas” companies would find Austin a great place to hide.
Plus Austin has major problems due to their excessive leftism in city politics, which is so bad that the state government has had to step in to secure liberty for the captives I mean for the Austin citizens.
As for elections, since 2016 DHS has been pushing out a major election cybersecurity initiative. I posted about it many months ago on one of the daily threads, so I could find it again. My concern then, as it is now, is that giving a cybersecurity firm the keys to your electoral kingdom – “Trust us, we’re professionals, and we’ll keep you safe” – may not be the wisest decision. In fact, it seems to me that a more unscrupulous organization could interfere while covering their tracks about what they were doing. Or, they could be the cybersecurity partner for the technology operation, the partner that has an “understanding” of what their “scope” is. Translated, that means they contractually look the other way for any nefarious cyber-activity that is defined as “out of scope”. They spend their time defending the network from those darned Russians, while the Shadow works freely in cover of darkness.

wheatietoo

Thanks, Michael.
Yeah, I get a “Danger Will Robinson” vibe over the prospect of DNC-affiliated cybersecurity firms being involved in our electoral process.

Deplorable Patriot

Austin is the only place in Texas I have been. I went there for training on a piece of fundraising software. I didn’t see anything “weird” about the place, but then it was fall.
TBH, it was hard to get the vibe as opposed to Chicago, Washington or NYC. Even Seattle had a feel to it that was unique.
And then…I couldn’t find a pin for my “been there” collection that was a bat. I mean, I have the Tower in London, Jameson, Guinness, the Empire State Building, the Peabody Hotel, Mardi Gras World, but I don’t have a bat from Austin.
BTW, there are other technology start up hubs. Boston, STL, and Denver are also known for that.

Gail Combs

Research Triangle Park NC

michaelh

It’s ok if you didn’t “get” Austin’s vibe. I’ve never been that impressed with it and think it’s overrated. Basically you have the UT campus and a lot of bars and entertainment – great if you are a college student or are young and single. Not so awesome if you value a little neighborhood peace and quiet or a family.

Deplorable Patriot

I live not too far from multiple college campuses, so bars don’t bug me.
There’s other things about a city I notice. Character, charm, that sort of thing. Energy.

michaelh

I did want to say, I believe that defending the rights of women is very appropriate this Valentine’s Day! 🙂
Please ladies, keep on being incredible!!!
Quick news addendum to the ERA post . . .
https://wqth.wordpress.com/2020/02/13/the-equal-rights-amendment-era-is-dead-but-democrats-try-to-revive-frankenstein/comment-page-1/#comment-398123
Democrats Pass ERA That Creates Unlimited Right to Kill Babies in Abortions Up to Birth
NATIONAL MICAIAH BILGER FEB 13, 2020 | 12:50PM WASHINGTON, DC
https://www.lifenews.com/2020/02/13/democrats-pass-era-that-creates-unlimited-right-to-kill-babies-in-abortions-up-to-birth/comment image

U.S. House Democrats jammed through a resolution Thursday to revive a constitutional amendment that could end all abortion restrictions and allow unborn babies to be aborted for any reason up to birth.
The Democrat-controlled House passed House Joint Resolution 79 in a 232-183 vote in an attempt to nullify the seven-year deadline for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) that expired in 1979. Five Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the resolution.
The bill now heads to the Senate, which will not likely take it up for consideration.
The constitutional amendment appears to be simple. It states that “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” But both pro-abortion and pro-life leaders say the language could be used to end all abortion restrictions, even common-sense laws such as parental consent for minors and the partial-birth abortion ban. It also could force taxpayers to pay for abortions, something most Americans oppose.
The ERA is “anything but pro-woman,” said U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Missouri, who voted against the resolution.
“… the ERA would not bring women any more rights than they currently have but it would entrench the legality of abortion. We know this from court precedent and by listening to those who have the most to gain from constitutionally protecting abortion on demand,” she said, pointing to statements by several prominent pro-abortion groups.

. . . Continued . . .

michaelh

Thanks Daughn… mainly I didn’t want them to just get away with that little stunt without anyone being aware of what they were up to.
But the video of Phyllis Schlafly deserves more attention…

Before there was the Flynn Army of Digital Soldiers there was the Schlafly army.
“She brought together and mobilized a very formidable army of thousands of women, mostly housewives, from across the country. This was before the Internet or even fax machines existed! And she taught them how to go to their state legislatures and lobby strategically and effectively despite the opposing them. Legislators had never seen anything like it.”
She had to essentially take over the Republican party – much to the annoyance and consternation of the Republican establishment – the GOP Whig Party of do nothing, stand for nothing. And she succeeded in shaping the Republicans for decades to come.
Of course, IMO, the GOPe learned from her, and facing their worst nightmare with the upcoming Tea Party in ~2010, deployed innumerable countermeasures to ensure that the voices of the ppl would not upend the GOPe Whig establishment again…

Alabama Democrat proposes bill mandating all men have vasectomy at age 50 or after third child
https://yellowhammernews.com/alabama-democrat-proposes-bill-mandating-all-men-have-vasectomy-at-age-50-or-after-third-child/

MONTGOMERY — State Rep. Rolanda Hollis (D-Birmingham) on Thursday filed a bill that would mandate every Alabama man to undergo a vasectomy within one month of his 50th birthday or the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first.
Democrats in the Alabama legislature last year brought up the possibility of introducing such a bill during the abortion debate on 2019’s HB 314, known as the Human Life Protection Act.
“Under existing law, there are no restrictions on the reproductive rights of men,” states the introduction to Hollis’ new bill, HB 238.
The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
HB 238 specifically would mandate each vasectomy occur at the respective man’s “own expense.”
During the debate on the Human Life Protection Act in 2019, Hollis read from a poem “If My Vagina was a Gun,” comparing the Second Amendment rights debate to the debate over a woman’s right to an abortion.

If she’s trying to make a statement – other than “Leftists are EVIL” – it’s lost on me.
At best I’m guessing she’s trying to say “Women should have reproductive rights, and if you won’t let them, then we’ll take away a man’s by law.”
She’s clearly tone-deaf, because what the rest of us hear, as loud as a bell:
“We Leftists are going to make sure your children can be aborted and that your men are sterilized.”
Stay classy, Dems.

coosmama

She lost me at “restrictions on rights”, regardless of who, what, why, where, or how.

IMO, Comey is dirty, dirty. Nothing was hid from him, although there may have been power grabs regarding strategies and tactics.

I don’t get it. How can nothing be happening if something IS happening in federal court? Is he trying to imply that a good deed immunizes running a coup?

Issue with Rubini’s #4 where he says,
“4. Besides Judy Shelton, Trump has nominated Christopher Waller,
director of research at the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank.
if both nominees will be confirmed by the Senate,
Trump will have installed SIX of the SEVEN Fed governors. ”
No. Rubini is conflating Republicans with Trump installments.
1. There are 7 spots for Fed governors. Two of those spots are empty and have been empty even before the president’s election in 2016.
2. Of the 5 sitting governors the President had a free hand in nominating two of them (Clardia and Boweman) although Quarles came in under the President I would not count him as being a Trump pick as he was already Senate Confirmed before Trump came into office. Brainard is the one Democrat board member and we know about Powell, a Republican pick but bucking the President and he wont rotate out of the chair position until 2022 and out of the Fed totally until 2028 (Chair is a 4yr term and governor is 14yr term). Meanwhile Quarles’s history looks almost like a clone of Powells.
3. One more pick for governor might only provide a 3 to 3 parity. His three picks vs Powell, Quarles, and Brainard. A second pick would put his three picks over the top however there is something about governors only being seated one every two years and it is unclear how that works with the 2 vacant seats. One for sure, but would the other one have to wait for the two years to pass?

ozzytrumpster

Ok. Point taken.
But Potus has the fed in his laser sights and he usually finds a way. Thinks outside of the square this one does

How do you rig a jury? First, you rig the jury pool w/ your venue selection. Second, the judge gags the defendant from speaking & scares his counsel into muteness. Third, the judge hides juror identity from public, so no one can crowdsource truth about juror bias. #RogerStone

I found an article about Bloomberg written by Nigel Farndale for The Age.
March 22, 1999.

Bloomberg is off his rocker. He’d just opened an office in London.
In case you don’t know, Bloomberg worked at Salomon Brothers until he was laid off in 1981. He was given a $10 million severance package, which he used to start the first online stock-market news company.
You had to buy HIS computer, which was called the Bloomberg.

“When you enter the Bloomberg building in London, you see the man’s name on everything: the furniture, the disposable coffee cups, the computer mats, the bottled water, the magazines.
“There’s a Brave New World feel to it. Something odd about the staff: their frozen smiles, their unblinking eyes, the way they talk into their telephone headsets.
“There are no job titles or permanent desks. The internal telephone directory lists staff by first names.”

“Mike barrels in. He leaves the door open–a company policy.
“‘Data is easy to collect,’ he says. ‘Because we have the ability, we will take advantage of that and start collecting, disclosing things that we never did before. That is where the privacy issue comes in.'”
“The interview has only just started and already I feel exhausted. Bloomberg qualifies everything he says by giving about five examples.”

“He uses repetition in the way a cult leader does: to browbeat and seduce. And there is something of the television evangelist about his brash matey-ness.

“When I transcribe my tape, however, his words become statements of the obvious that evaporate from the page. Their weight is in the delivery.

Stone’s lawyers should dig deep on this juror, his social media files and everything else, to find out if he lied under oath about his biases (hatred) during jury selection.
If he did, not only should he be prosecuted, but Stone should get a re-trial at the very least, if not an outright dismissal.

I must have missed the discussion about AG Barr’s ‘interview’ with ABC. I just started watching it OT, and couldn’t get more than a minute into it before I was searching for a transcript.
I don’t know if Barr is a bumbling incompetent boob, or a traitor, or a white hat playing like he’s Robert Redford in “The Sting”.
But it is maddening to watch people who are supposed to be on OUR side do things like this.
Why would he talk to anyone at ABC-Globalist in the first place?
And if you did, why would you use the opportunity to stab the president in the back?
.
THOMAS: This is the first time we’re hearing from you since the Roger Stone story erupted. At minimum, there appears to be an appearance problem. Trial prosecutors recommended 7 to 9 years on Monday evening. The president tweets at 1:48 AM Tuesday morning calling the recommendations – quote “horrible, unfair and a miscarriage of justice.”
Then word comes out from DOJ headquarters Tuesday morning that the recommendations are too severe and suggests a lesser sentence is more appropriate. Four of the trial attorneys resigned from the case. One of them quitting the Justice Department altogether.
What happened, sir, and what was your role?
BARR: Well, as you know, the Stone case was prosecuted while I was attorney general. And I supported it. I think it was established, he was convicted of obstructing Congress and witness tampering. And I thought that was a righteous prosecution. And I was happy that he was convicted.
My question: Are you likewise “happy” about the selective, over-the-top, LAWLESS investigation and prosecution of Trump associates and/or people who can be used as leverage against the president?
While all of the criminals in the FIB, the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, Pakistani service techs working for Congress, people like James A. Wolfe, etc., along with outright traitors like Hussein and Clinton, along with multiple high officials in YOUR Just-us Dept. remain above the Law?
Are you familiar with the concept “Equal Justice Under Law”, Mr. Barr?
BARR continues: The issue then became the sentencing. A new U.S. attorney had just started in Washington D.C. and the week before the filing, he engaged in conversations with senior staff here who raised some questions about the sentencing because he was concerned that the so called guidelines, the sentencing guideline formula, was indicating a sentence between 7 and 9 years.
Which, he felt and all of us immediately felt was very, very high and excessive in this case. And so he wanted to discuss that and over a number of days it became clear that the prosecution team wanted to recommend to the judge, and by the way, sentencing is a function for the judge and not the Department of Justice, we’re not the decision maker. But they wanted to advocate for a sentence that was, at the top, between 7 and 9 years.
And, in those discussions here at the department, you know, I came to the view as my colleagues did that I wouldn’t support affirmatively advocating what I thought was an excessive sentence.
So, what I wanted to do what to provide dis — defer to the discretion of the judge, let the judge make the determination.
THOMAS: You wanted to do that from the outset?
BARR: Yes. And then point out different features of the case that she should consider if she wanted to go below the 7 to 9 years. And I won’t get into the wires on that, but there were a lot of, I think, very legitimate arguments to be raised, there are points to be raised there. But at the end of the day, we deferred to her. Or, and that was what the approach was, I thought, we were going to take.
My question: You thought?!? And who’s “we”? Who is running the Just-us department, Mr. Barr? Are you in the habit of holding meetings on important issues, where a decision is made, and you rely on mind-reading to have your decisions carried out?
What the *&^% is that about?
.
THOMAS: So the US attorney for the District of Columbia signed off on, his name is on the recommendation that went in there.
BARR: Yeah.
THOMAS: How did that happen?
BARR: On Monday, he came by to briefly chat with me and say that the team very much wanted to recommend the 7-9 year to the judge. And, but he thought that there was a way of satisfying everybody and providing more flexibility.
My question: So you had already had this discussion, and everybody agreed that 7-9 years was ridiculous, and they came back the ‘team’ (all Hussein people and/or Deep State and/or Coup participants, btw) AGAIN said they wanted 7-9 years? So you acknowledge insubordination?
And now this corrupt attorney presents a way of “satisfying everybody”? Who is running this pathetic excuse for a government agency? Is it “everybody”, or is it Howdy Doody Billy Barr?
.
BARR continues: And there was a brief discussion of that. I was under the impression that what was going to happen was very much what I had suggested, which is deferring to the judge and then pointing out the various factors and circumstances. On Monday night, when I first saw the news reports, I said, “Gee, the news is spinning this. This is not what we were going to do.”
My question: Does the DoJ routinely operate on “impressions”?
Is there some reason why you can’t just SPEAK to each other and articulate directives with, you know, WORDS — in order to avoid exactly these kinds of SNAFUS?
Do you even HEAR yourself, Mr. Barr?
.
THOMAS: So you were surprised?
BARR: I was very surprised. And once I confirmed that that’s actually what we filed, I said that night, to my staff, that we had to get ready cause we had to do something in the morning to amend that and clarify what our position was.
My question: Maybe, in a highly charged event like a 3+ year attempt to overthrow the president of the United States, which you have done nothing to stop, it would be wise for the AG to actually take 3 seconds to SIGN OFF on the prosecution’s recommendations to the Judge?
That way, even though you all sit around a table and try to discern each other’s thoughts without speaking, you could READ the intended recommendation to the Judge and CORRECT it before you signed off on it?
I don’t mean to tell you how to run the DoJ, I’m just trying to help with some basic, common-sense solutions to the incomprehensible idiocy and gross incompetence you’re admitting to here in this interview.
.
BARR continues: So the following morning — and by the way, I don’t look at tweets, I don’t read tweets unless they’re brought to my attention.”
My question: Do you think that’s a wise course of action, to intentionally remain ignorant of your boss’ public communications, considering your upcoming statement that these tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job”? How does that make any sense, Mr. Barr?
If the president’s tweets are as disruptive as you claim, wouldn’t you want (if not need) to stay abreast of the President’s public communications, in order to avoid being caught off-guard or out of the loop, risking the embarrassment of the Department, yourself and the President?
Do you have any idea, at all, what you’re doing, Mr. Barr?
Have you ever met Christopher Wray?
He has the same curious inability to reconcile basic realities of cause and effect, and similarly appears to have no clue or understanding of what his department is doing.
.
BARR continues: So early the next morning I was you know, putting that in motion and directing that be done when someone walked in and told me that, about the president’s tweet.
My comment: Makes one wonder why you didn’t “put it in motion” in the first place, to avoid this whole mess before it ever happened… like anyone who didn’t run a department based on pretending to use mental telepathy would do…
I’m curious about your powers of mind-reading.
What do you suppose I am thinking about you right now, Mr. Barr?
.
BARR continues: That sort of illustrates how disruptive these tweets can be for the Department of Justice, because at that point, I had made a decision that I thought was fair and reasonable in this particular case and once the tweet occurred, the question is, Well, now what do I do? And do you go forward with what you think is the right decision or do you pull back because of the tweet? And that just sort of illustrates how disruptive these tweets can be.
My question: Well, maybe you should ask yourself something like this: What would a grown-ass man do?
Would he do the right thing regardless, or would he fall apart like a cheap suit and whine about it to the ABC Propaganda arm of the Democrat Party?
.
THOMAS: So you’re saying you have a problem with the tweets?
BARR: Yes. Well, I have a problem with some of, some of the tweets.
My question: Maybe you’d like to pre-screen and approve or deny the President’s communication with the American Public who elected him? Is that what you’re saying here?
BARR continues: As I said at my confirmation hearing, I think the essential role of the Attorney General is to keep law enforcement, the criminal process sacrosanct…
My comment: You can’t even possibly be serious… do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds, considering there has been on ONGOING COUP AGAINST THE PRESIDENT FOR THREE FREAKIN’ YEARS?!?
Do you really not have any idea what’s going on in the world, Mr. Barr? Or in this country? Or in your Department?
Do me a quick favor, I just want to try a basic cognitive function test. How many fingers am I holding up?
.
BARR continues: to make sure there is no political interference in it. And I have done that and I will continue to do that.
And I’m happy to say that, in fact the president has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case.
BARR continues: Why does that make you happy, Mr. Barr? He’s your boss, isn’t he? Doesn’t he have every right to discuss cases of national importance with you, and make sure you understand that the priorities of the United States may be different than, say, the priorities of the abusive dirtbag attorneys who just tried to railroad Mr. Roger Stone, right under your telepathic nose?
BARR continues: However, to have public statements and tweets made about the department, about our people in the department, our men and women here, about cases pending in the department, and about judges before whom we have cases, make it impossible for me to do my job and to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department that we’re doing our work with integrity.
My comment: Then QUIT. Shut your *&^% mouth, stop talking trash about your boss to the enemy, pick up your *&%# and see yourself out the door. What a baby… you sound like a 3-year old, Mr. Barr.
A back-stabbing 3-year old, at that.
If you had ANY integrity, let alone a freakin’ clue, you would USE the President’s strong statements as LEVERAGE to accomplish the goals of the Department, instead of acting like you’re embarrassed that the President doesn’t use mental telepathy to run the United States government the way you run the DoJ.
.
THOMAS: Mr. Barr, the president does not like to be told what to do.
My comment: Not only that, you jackass, but it’s not the place for any of his subordinates to tell him what to do. Did you already know that, or are we ‘making news’ today?
THOMAS continues: He may not like what you’re saying. Are you prepared for those ramifications?
My comment: Great question, really insightful, Mr. Thomas. Let’s think about it for approximately one second… is Mr. Barr a GROWN-ASS MAN, or a shrinking violet?
.
BARR: Of course. As I, you know, said during my confirmation, I came in to serve as Attorney General. I am responsible for everything that happens in the department, but the thing I have most responsibility for are the issues that are brought to me for decision.
My question: And how often do you communicate your decisions by mental telepathy? Is that routine, or was this a special instance of unspoken mental directives?
.
BARR continues: And I will make those decisions based on what I think is the right thing to do and I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody.
My question: If that’s actually true, then what are you complaining about? You realize this is being recorded, right? Let’s go to the tape. Not more than a few minutes ago, you said: “That sort of illustrates how disruptive these tweets can be for the Department of Justice, because at that point, I had made a decision that I thought was fair and reasonable in this particular case and once the tweet occurred, the question is, Well, now what do I do? And do you go forward with what you think is the right decision or do you pull back because of the tweet? And that just sort of illustrates how disruptive these tweets can be.
First you claim you don’t know what to do, whether to go forward with what you think is right, or to pull back. Then you say that you will make those decisions based on what you think is right and won’t be bullied or influenced by anybody.
In the space of two minutes, your completely contradicted yourself.
So were you lying then, or are you lying now, Mr. Barr?
.
BARR continues: And I said, whether it’s Congress, newspaper editorial boards, or the president. I’m going to do what I think is right.”
My question: Then what’s your problem?
What in the world are you whining and crying about on national TV, if you’re so confident and self-assured that you’re going to do what is right regardless?
What’s your major malfunction, Private Pyle?
.
BARR continues: And, you know, the, I think the — I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.
My question: Will you pick a side and STAY on it?
Either you’re going to do your job no matter what anyone does to influence you (according to your own perception and mind-reading powers), OR you can’t do your job because of people who influence you.
Which is it?!?
Do you even know?
Have you ever been tested for split-personality disorder?
Do you ever find yourself responding to the name ‘Sybil’?
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
.
THOMAS: Why does it make it so difficult for you to do your job and if he keeps doing it, what are you prepared to do?
BARR: Well you know I think—
THOMAS: Commenting specifically on criminal investigations?
BARR: Well again if some examples would be if you tweet something about, someone should be investigated for this or someone should go to jail and it turns out you are investigating them at that point, let’s say, this is a hypothetical, then what do you do?
My reply: Maybe you read it, recognize what the president has said — albeit using words instead of your preferred method of communicating telepathically — and then go about the business of running the Just-us Department and doing your best to fulfill your boss’ wishes?
Where is the rocket-science in that, which seems to cause you such angst?
For someone so accomplished at sending and receiving messages telepathically, getting messages in actual writing would seem like a double-bonus… i.e., surely you can hear the President’s thoughts before he Tweets them, AND you can then confirm your mental reception visually, right?
.
BARR continues: Because people might think that if you proceed with the investigation, it was prompted by the tweet.
My question: Why do you care what people think? Is that a natural consequence of having the ability to read peoples’ minds?
How many other grown-ass men in the Just-us Department are functionally paralyzed by what other people might think?
Do you have any idea how much of a WEENIE you sound like?
Since WHEN is upholding and enforcing THE LAW influenced by what the public might ‘think’?
What the &%$# is wrong with you, Mr. Barr?
There are cliques of high school Valley girls who aren’t as petrified of what others think about them as you are, Mr. Barr…
Does that embarrass you as much as it ought to?
.
BARR continues: It’s the same kind of thing that happened here. So, and there are other examples where if you have a case before a judge to be attacking the judge, you know, it is not helpful or productive at all.
My question: Only if you care more about what the judge thinks than you do about what your BOSS thinks.
A more astute grown-ass man would use his boss’ public words to his ADVANTAGE in the courtroom, both as personal CYA (i.e., don’t blame me, I’m obviously doing what the President told the whole planet he wanted done), and as leverage, a bludgeon to hammer any opposition with, i.e., you’d best stay clear and get out of my way, or the MAGA Freight Train is going to come right through your front door.
Only a freakin’ MO-RON would look at the president’s daily Tweets as a hindrance, instead of a wave you can ride all the way to shore on.
.
BARR continues: And also, you know, I think attacking- for people to attack people here in the department or in the FBI in general terms is unfair and, you know, I think I came back into government because I love the department and I believe strongly in it as an institution and I think we have great people here.”
My comment: It’s just so incredible, the crap coming out of your mouth… I can’t take any more of your bull*&%$, Mr. Barr.
If your Department had ANY idea what upholding the Law was about, if you PERSONALLY had any idea how utterly destroyed your ‘beloved institution’ really is, you would put the DoJ out of it’s misery.
If you really cared about the DoJ, you would shut it down, as a compassionate thing to do, as you might do to a once proud but critically wounded horse.
But instead you pretend to be oblivious to the daily humiliation your Department heaps on the very concept of “Equal Justice Under Law” and the very rule of Law itself.
And you stab the president in the back on national television.
And you whine and cry like a baby.
And contradict yourself.
And then blubber about muh beloved institution.

…and to your point on this (and this may not be liked by many on our site)…..Like a movie, or maybe more like a play.
And I say a play because PDJT is the star, and the greatest ad lib’er of all time (think tweets), but that’s not to say he’s incapable of lets say, “getting ahead of the script” on occasion with this skill.
I think this could be a reasonable explanation of what we see here…..just my take.

realsauce

damn I wish I could competently express a clear though rattling around in my headt….
Meaning, this whole thing is:
A.) Part minor course/script correction for clarity
B. ) Making use of it as Subterfuge/smoke screen, i.e. to paraphrase the opposition, don’t let a controversy or crisis (even if it may be of your own making) go to waste.

ladypenquin

This isn’t Barr’s usual modis operandi – therefore I believe there was a reason for his making public statements.

singingsoul1

Daughn could not agree with you more.

Fairness and fallowing law has been lost in the DOJ and impression has become more important. To give impression that the law applies to everyone equally and is applied equally is a side bar.
We all know the Russian hoax was committed by C A retreads and D O J and other intel actors. They were out to get POTUS and in their net they caught everyone connected to POTUS. They tried to dirty everyone up so they squeal on POTUS and fabricate. Some refused to play the Mueller game and they were punished beyond fairness and justice under US law.
Barr cannot sit there and try to protect a third world style DOJ and worry about his reputation. It is all about preserving the AG and DOJ reputation. Barr needs to be careful by protecting DOJ and FBI reputation that he does not loose his. He needs to prosecute those who perpetrated the coup and those who went after Flynn and Stone and others for revenge. His reputation will only stay intact if he applies the law equally and fairly and that is the American way and nothing else will do.
I now wonder why Congress has always allowed democrats to get their way without fighting? I wonder if they know that the Intel and DOJ will go after them if they fight? Just wondering in context what has happened in three years to POTUS and his associates and family.

2 teenagers had 80 some IEDs and were selling them…they got arrested and BONDED out of jail—they bought thei stuff on the internet and they made bombs and sold them and they just let them out???
FTA
Hutchinson, KS – Two teenagers were arrested when police stopped their truck and found more than 80 improvised explosive devices (IED) inside the vehicle.
Residents of Hutchinson had been calling police for weeks to report that they heard explosions nearby, The Hutchinson News reported.
On Feb. 8, authorities got a tip that someone was driving around town with a truck full of IEDs.
“We did some investigative work on it and found out who owned the vehicle,” South Hutchinson Police Chief Dean Harcrow explained. “We located it around State Street and Poplar Street and a traffic stop was initiated.”
When they stopped the vehicle, police found it was occupied by two 18-year-old men who had more than 80 IEDs with them.
Officers discovered a plastic tote full of bomb-making materials, as well as 82 bombs that had already been assembled, The Hutchinson News reported.

FTA
A prolific Portland shoplifter whose taste for stolen shrimp and televisions helped lead to his most recent arrests was sentenced Wednesday to less than two years in prison.
Barry Trennel Sanders, 58, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of theft stemming from a rash of retail heists in 2019, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
As part of an agreement reached with prosecutors, he admitted to stealing merchandise from Portland stores more than 1,000 times during his storied criminal career, court records show.
“I am a talented and professional thief,” Sanders said in a written statement, adding he’d been arrested over 100 times in Oregon.

Theodore Roosevelt’s wife and mother die
Future President Theodore Roosevelt’s wife and mother die, only hours apart, on February 14, 1884.
Roosevelt was at work in the New York state legislature attempting to get a government reform bill passed when he was summoned home by his family. He returned home to find his mother, Mittie, had succumbed to typhoid fever. On the same day, his wife of four years, Alice Lee, died of Bright’s disease, a severe kidney ailment. Only two days before her death, Alice Lee had given birth to the couple’s daughter, Alice.

That thread by DawsonSField is VERY important because it is the KEY to understanding the Ukraine-Impeachment and the coming Stone/DOJ interference impeachment.
WHAT IS THE DEMONRAT GOAL?
The goal of this series of stories and the witch-hunts & impeachment(s) is to CONVINCE the voting public that President Trump:
1. INFLUENCES DOJ Justice.
2. HAS NO RIGHT to investigate ANYONE in the US government.
In other words that the Deep State Bureaucracy MUST BE HELD above the law for the good of the country and NO President has the RIGHT to question it. no Prosecutor has the Right to indict any members.
No one, not even the President has any right to investigate sedition if it is done by the Deep State Bureaucracy
AND THEREFORE the President is not ALLOWED to try and prove SEDITION or TREASON!
⬆️⬆️⬆️THAT is the goal.

The American people usually have a heart for the underdog, especially one who has been unfairly treated.
That being said, the American people are woefully uninformed about the truth of political goings on. Fake news and the business and distractions of daily life are a factor in this as well as the ugliness of our political system in general.
I think being shown the truth might help.
In Roger Stone’s case that would include clearly stating what he has done and been convicted for vs what others doing the same thing have (not) been convicted for with the two groups dividing under the headings of left and right or Republican and Democrat.
Then, divide the 2 groups that have been convicted into sentences given under the same headings.
I think then it would be fair to ask the American people if they want to support a politically driven justice system or one that can be relied on to fairly prosecute and convict offenders.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

AMEN!!! I think we’re seeing this already. And it’s pretty clear that the CREEPS in DOJ who wanted to “get Stone” orchestrated a nasty beat-down, that they then hoped to use as an obstruction trap.

Cherry picked passages from the article that indicates muh Russia was C_A vs. NSA surfacing:
Durham, who was selected by Attorney General William Barr in 2019 to look into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation and the government’s response to Moscow’s meddling, is investigating whether Brennan’s CIA was attempting to keep other agencies in the dark as he pushed for a specific preconceived analytic assessment about Russia’s true intentions in 2016, the New York Times reported Thursday….
Durham interviewed agents and analysts from all three agencies, and the report said he was scrutinizing whether the clash over intelligence sharing was the typical sort of bureaucratic turf battle over jealously guarded secrets or an effort to cover something up.
Much of this revolves around how the United States government eventually reached its January 2017 intelligence assessment on Russian meddling and whether Brennan was pushing for a biased result.
One major battle was about the identity and credibility of a CIA source allegedly close to the Kremlin. The NSA wanted more details about him, which the CIA resisted before providing them. The NSA then disagreed with the CIA and FBI about how much confidence to place in the source.
At least some intelligence officials were disturbed by a law enforcement officer such as Durham inquiring into the assessments made by intelligence agencies, though Durham played a similar role in his Obama-era investigation into the CIA’s destruction of tapes showing the harsh interrogation of detainees.
The January 2017 intelligence community assessment in question concluded with “high confidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016” and that Russia worked to “undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate former Secretary of State [Hillary] Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency” and “developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.” The NSA diverged on one aspect, expressing only “moderate confidence” that Putin actively tried to help Trump’s election chances and harm those of Clinton by contrasting her unfavorably.
“I wouldn’t call it a discrepancy, I’d call it an honest difference of opinion between three different organizations and, in the end, I made that call,” Rogers told the Senate in May 2017. “It didn’t have the same level of sourcing and the same level of multiple sources.”
It was Brennan’s still-classified “wake-up call” intelligence that prompted the Obama administration to reconsider how it viewed Russia’s hacking of the Democratic National Committee, the Senate Intelligence Committee revealed last week. The specifics of the intelligence which jolted Obama’s national security team into action is detailed in a blacked-out section titled, “[Redacted] Intelligence Was The ‘Wake Up’ Call.”
Within an hour or two of being briefed on the intelligence, then-national security adviser Susan Rice said Obama needed to know.
Rice said “the president’s reaction was of grave concern” which “prompted her to call the first of a series of restricted small-group Principals Committee meetings on the topic.”
DP COMMENT: The article is a must read with Clapper and Yates and Samantha Powers involved.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

YUP! Q is right! Read carefully! Brennan’s role is now exposed! It’s only a question of finding a smoking gun, which will be difficult.
This is how Brennan pulled it off. This is CLASSIC sneaky manipulation of a system to a desired result – which I saw PLENTY OF in “shallow state”, as a way of forcing technology outcomes with the appearance of having fairly and objectively considered undesired options.
And NOTICE that this crap in shallow state happened after we were “Obamatized”, as I liked to call it.
Yup. Brennan very likely did two things:
(1) He pre-arranged with Obama and Obama’s people the list of people who could NOT be “trusted” to NOT interfere with the desired outcome of “getting an investigation of Trump”, and
(2) THEN they went back and re-justified the exclusion of that list of people from the normal process with PLAUSIBLE CONCERNS based on bogus principles related to the intelligence itself.
What this does is VERY SNEAKILY put the cart before the horse, but in a really big way, so it’s very difficult to catch any of the conspirators in the LIE. The lie is too big. If the words that arrange the lie are spoken quietly somewhere, with no phones, in a secret location, then nobody will know. It LOOKS like “errors of judgment”, but it’s not – it’s a conspiracy to obtain an outcome and make the proper justifications to achieve that outcome.
There will be lots of circumstantial evidence that Brennan and his allies and underlings drove the outcome of investigating Trump, but there will be scant proof.
Notice that they kept it out of the PDB, so that people would not know. WICKED!!!
Notice that LIAR Susan Rice was involved from the beginning.
Oh, this is all making sense now!!! Very important to read this!!!

“During the meeting with the President, Director Brennan also advised the President of a plan to brief key individuals, including congressional leadership, but not to disseminate the intelligence via routine reporting channels,” the Senate report stated.
The committee noted “the receipt of the sensitive intelligence prompted the National Security Council to begin a series of restricted Principals Committee meetings to craft the administration’s response” and said the discussions “were atypically restricted” and “excluded” key officials who were normally clued in.
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said that “the extraordinarily restricted nature of the meetings and departure from routine methods of disseminating intelligence were reminiscent” of how they handled preparations for the Osama bin Laden raid. Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates called it “very cloak and dagger.”
The list even initially excluded the secretary of state, the defense secretary, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and the Treasury secretary.
“Several NSC officials who would normally be included in discussions of importance, such as the NSC Senior Director for Russia, the Senior Director for Intelligence Programs, and the White House Cybersecurity Coordinator were neither included in the discussions nor exposed to the sensitive intelligence until after the election,” the report said.
The Brennan-relayed intelligence was likely detailed in a June 2017 Washington Post article, which stated that in early August 2016 the CIA sent an “eyes only” envelope addressed to Obama which contained an “intelligence bombshell … from sourcing deep inside the Russian government” which detailed Putin’s “specific instructions” to help Trump and hurt Clinton in 2016. The material was said to be so sensitive it was kept out of the President’s Daily Brief.

Gail Combs

Ozzy already posted this and I re-posted above:
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1228087231316975616.html
Here is another part:

Now we get to the crux of the matter, Brennan’s secret source in Moscow. The source that fed the information on Putin’s intent to Brennan. A source so compromised, that Brennan removed his reporting from the PDB because it would not be deemed credible.

comment image
“Brennan’s source was so weak, probably a double agent for Russia. The Russians let him emigrate to the US & he lived under his real name in Virginia.”
There is a lot more.
No wonder they do not want any of this crap to go to court.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

This is why Durham will go nowhere. It’s a SCAM.

I’m having trouble with this part:
The Brennan-relayed intelligence was likely detailed in a June 2017 Washington Post article, which stated that in early August 2016 the CIA sent an “eyes only” envelope addressed to Obama which contained an “intelligence bombshell … from sourcing deep inside the Russian government” which detailed Putin’s “specific instructions” to help Trump and hurt Clinton in 2016. The material was said to be so sensitive it was kept out of the President’s Daily Brief.
first, who told it to the WAPO? and claiming that there is an “eyes only” document that WASN’T included in any PDB is absurd. if Obama was going to take any action, he would need supporting intelligence documents–however redacted they needed to be–to back up his claims of Russian interference.
so what happened to the super secret eyes only letter? did Obama eat it? cuz that’s what all the classic spies do in this case…LOL…

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

You see, this is where this sort of crap “special process” bogus excuses always falls apart in a huge way. They will claim it was “so special” that they engage in all these exceptions to the normal checks and balances that – SURPRISE – are designed to keep precisely these ABUSES “in check”.
And of course, they will say things like “I may have spoken to [whoever] prior to [whatever] but I don’t remember.” It’s SO COMEY.
Remember Comey trying to finagle excuses why he didn’t tell certain people about the various steps of the Steele Dossier?
EXCUSES.
These people are amazing liars.

So, that interview was strategic, and I need to listen to it.
Got it.

Dora

She is a beautiful person, inside and out.

LM

This made me grin on several counts.
The first lady: poised, gentle, endearing, engaged and the epitome of grace.
Me (In memories of valentine preparations past): fielding flying paper pieces, mopping up glue, attempting to clean up glitter (from everything..and everyone), fairly redistributing the wealth of colors, sequins, “jewels”, and stickers, giving up on edible decor as it was unfairly devoured by on child or another, intervening in discussions of ownership or the worthiness of one’s offerings before things disintegrated into physical blows, and in the midst of it all trying to instill the principles of love and friendship which (should) underlie it all.
Still…it was fun. 🥰
If I had it do do all over again I might remember a lesson I have gleaned from one of the wise women (Daughn) of the tree…..bring in plates of food and drink as the main event and let the artistic efforts be celebrated and engaged in as an afterthought.

Alison

Real life, LM 😎 I enjoyed your comment!

Cuomo, Trump leave border crossing talks unresolved
ALBANY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo and President Donald Trump did not come to an agreement on restoring expedited border-crossing programs for New Yorkers during a White House meeting on Thursday, but both sides said in statements that they haven’t given up negotiating.

GOOD. Hang TOUGH against those CUOMMUNISTS.

patfrederick

“both sides haven’t given up negotiating”

Concerned Virginian

Per WOR710 12Noon news report:
SO much fun to hear New York’s Governor CUOMO blaming New York City’s Mayor DE BLASIO for the growing homeless problem in New York City!

Concerned Virginian

PLEASE pray for Virginia:
http://www.richmond.com/
About 2500 protesters gathered outside the state legislature in Richmond to protest several pro-abortion bills that are moving QUICKLY through the Virginia legislature.
The bills, if all are passed and (of course would be signed into law the BABY-KILLER NORTHAM) would include:
REMOVING the current 24-hour waiting period before an abortion is performed; the current mandatory ultrasound test to determine fetal viability and fetal age; and the current requirement to provide “certain information” (meaning information about keeping the fetus to term and giving it up for adoption); AND
ADDING a law allowing NON-MEDICAL DOCTORS to perform legal abortions in Virginia, like Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners (an attempt to “broaden access” to abortion services).
EVEN WORSE —
A bill sponsored by Republican Del. NICK FREITAS, which would mandate that physicians provide care for a baby that is born alive after a botched abortion procedure, WAS DEFEATED.

Deplorable Patriot

I can’t believe the feminists are not up in arms over non-physicians being allowed to do this. It’s my understanding that the push for legality and rights in the first place was led by ER physicians and OB/GYNs who were sickened by the damage they saw from illegal abortions.

Gail Combs

“It’s my understanding….”
Your understanding was correct. It was a major discussion between my Mom, grandmothers, aunts… (One neighbor had ended up dead)
Unfortunately what was originally to help women who were desperate was turned into infanticide by the Commies.

patfrederick

AND a profitable way to exploit women

Deplorable Patriot

When my mom’s family lived across the river the neighborhood abortionist was the doctor who lived next door. The relatives all claim he was “safe.” Sure. He was the one that all the East St. Louis politicians took their women to, though.
I don’t remember a time without Roe v Wade, but I do remember my mom wearing a cuff bracelet with an Alpha and Omega that was a Catholic protest.

eilert

Not only infanticide, actually genocide (60 million +) on a scale Stalin and Hitler together didn’t manage and that is only in the US.

Katie

It’s gut wrenching and literally makes me nauseous – and Colorado DEMONCRATS just did the same thing this week.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/colorado-democrats-vote-down-bill-that-would-protect-babies-born-after-failed-abortions

Concerned Virginian

And I may add:
NO disrespect to Physician’s Assistants OR to Nurse Practitioners — BUT —
They DO NOT have the training or experience that a MEDICAL DOCTOR MUST HAVE in order to graduate from medical school, then Residency, then Board Certification.
Now, about something else that may be thrown into not only the Virginia bill, but in pro-abortion bills / laws in other states — watch for MIDWIVES being granted the certification to perform abortion procedures: under the guise of “access to reproductive services”, “expanding access to reproductive services in underserved areas”, etc.

Concerned Virginian

EVERY SINGLE LEGISLATOR in Virginia in favor of the bill MUST BE FORCED to scrub in and WATCH UPCLOSE, AT THE OPERATION TABLE, an abortion procedure, from start to finish.

Deplorable Patriot

Here’s a Kurt Schlichter article that is definitely worth reading on the Roger Stone sentencing bait and switch.
https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2020/02/13/trump-charges-the-liberal-hacks-latest-ambush-n2561187
From the article:
There was a lot of talk about how “troubling” and even “frightening” it was that Donald Trump “interfered” with the “prosecutorial discretion” of these first-line functionaries. There was little talk of how obviously it was a set-up designed to try to trick Trump into violating some newly created norm – that new norm being that a president must leave unaddressed manifest injustices inflicted upon his supporters.
Except Trump does not play that loser’s game. They still think that Trump can somehow be shamed into obedience to the elite by castigating him for violating its arbitrary and unequally enforced unwritten rules.

LM

Well if we’re really going to take a lesson from the left let’s rally around our wounded and embattled fellow freedom fighters and reward them with honors, promotions, and positions of influence.
I have often thought of creating people’s awards to counter the leftist propaganda prizes.
The would be just as (in reality more) valid as any ot theirs.
For instance we could create something like the People’s Award for Integrity, or any of other worthy labels such as Valor, Leadership, Truth in Journalism, even perhaps in Roger Stone’s case one for Resistance of Bribery. (since he turned down a 2million dollar bribe for Russian dirt on Hillary vs the 65 million she paid for Russian dirt on Trump).
Why should we have to go to extremes like these?
Because they do.

patfrederick

wth???
McCabe not getting charged??
FTA
The Department of Justice has dropped its criminal investigation against former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, his lawyers said in a statement Friday.
McCabe was fired by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions in March 2018, a day before his planned retirement. The DOJ said at the time that McCabe was fired because he broke FBI rules by improperly disclosing information to journalists related to an investigation into Hillary Clinton.
The DOJ’s internal watchdog later said that McCabe concluded that “lacked candor, including under oath” when answering questions about the leaks.
McCabe was a frequent target of President Donald Trump, who blamed the former official for what he has called a baseless investigation into whether the Trump campaign conspired with Russians to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
“We learned this morning through a phone call from the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office that was followed by a letter that the Justice Department’s criminal investigation of Andrew McCabe has been closed,” attorneys Michael Bromwich and David Schertler said in the statement.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

It’s not a deal. It’s a PLAN. Just like the Awan let-off was not a deal. It was a PLAN.
Trump and the American people are getting PLAYED.
Trump realized it and sacked that Chinese piece of shit in mid-stream, because the TRAITORS couldn’t STOP HIM. BARR couldn’t stop it. Nobody could stop it. It was all Trump to intercept the bitch when he realized that HE was getting played, and what she had done with McCabe.
Revise everything you’re thinking. FBI – BAD. DOJ – BAD. NSA – BAD.
They’re all ROTTEN. My NSA data didn’t get to the fucking FBI “team entrapment lying shitheads criminal team” because they got data they weren’t supposed to get. They got data they were supposed to get.
They’re all in on it.
Durham ain’t gonna return jack shit. What has leaked so far about what Durham is pursuing is impossible to prove. Brennan gets mild criticism. They can never prove these people conspired without revealing a lot of NSA crap they will never reveal. Everybody WALKS.
This is about keeping the peace. THAT’S IT.
Praying Medic betrayed that in his early posts. Go back and read his earliest posts about Q.
It all makes sense now.

pgroup

Love ya but you couldn’t be more wrong. DJT has said, in different ways, that this (coup effort) can NEVER happen to any president again.
If you believe DJT can deliver that result, and will deliver that result, then firgure out how your hypothesis fits in with it. Parts that don’t fit need to be modified, with such modifications starting from the position that the end will be The End. Because DJT said so.
Of course, if you don’t trust DJT to deliver on his declared premise, then we are all wasting our time and probably helping the bad guys by showing them what we can find out (which means they’ll fix it).
Trust. We will get there. So will the bad guys get where they’re supposed to be.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Teagan

Okay, gang….go to Praying Medic and read his explanation….McCabe has much more serious charges ahead of him.
Remember,….48 hour rule!

patfrederick

all that is fine…but just because he has serious charges against him, doesn’t mean he should get to skate on the lesser ones.
lying by Repubs gets prosecuted.
lying by Dems does not.
2 tiered justice

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

It’s all a fucking outrage. Compare Stone and McCabe. McCabe lied as part of a HOAX against ALL OF AMERICA. Stone was ENTRAPPED and then CHARGED and – as far as I can tell – had contact with a witness and said the wrong thing – but all of it was downstream abuse of the FBI in furtherance of the HOAX that McCabe was part of.
It’s all ROTTEN.
FUCK BARR. FIRE HIS ASS.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

The fucking ChiCom BITCH did this. Let ’em all off.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Nothing is going to happen. Durham is a mirage. I was looking as what little has leaked out about what he’s looking at, and it appears just like certain types of “shaggy dog” scams, where people are led on until all the real stuff is bypassed and they’re left holding a bag of nothing.

Wolf Moon | Threat to Demonocracy

Now do you see the logic of these entrapments? They’re like hostages. “You can’t get our people, because we have some of yours.”
Doesn’t Trump have the power to fire the entire DOJ and create a new department?
Fuck ’em all. BURN IT DOWN.

ladypenquin

Agree. DOJ is dropping the investigation into one issue – the referral from Horowitz on leaking. It doesn’t take away the big picture of what McCabe was involved in. He didn’t get fired for a process crime discovered after the fact.
POTUS said he caught the Swamp, he caught them all. Barr said he’s looking for the predicate and has already made it known that there was spying, and doubtful on predicate. Meaning felonies were committed to carry out their spying.
It’s not a scam. It’s a complex investigation with many moving parts.
When all investigations are closed, and if these critters are still walking free, then I’ll believe that POTUS and his DOJ were powerless – but that’s not today.

pgroup

If you read the 15 or so comments preceding yours, you will come to the conclusion that the two of us are the only ones who haven’t lost their minds over a stupid no-prosecution decision over a process crime.
It’s good to know we two can stand on the top of Mount Trust-DJT and look down at the rest of them running around like headless chickens.

ladypenquin

Pgroup, LOL. Good to see you. I saw the meltdown on twitter among many of favorite conservatives, but I just don’t see it that way. Brian Cates reminded folks about Comey still being under investigation. McCabe didn’t get fired for a process crime… The Swamp is deep and wide, and POTUS has said he can’t let it happen ever again. He’s going to want these scumbags exposed for what they did.

I, too, am having trouble quelling this reaction.
There are many fronts in the battle we are engaged in and I am not sure that appearing weak in the public forum is effective as a general strategy for winning over the hearts and minds of a disengaged and uninformed, indoctrinated public.
I care less about legal minutiae and technicalities than in the public prosecution of wrongdoing. That is why I always wanted Special Prosecutors appointed for the Obama and Clinton crimes. People need to know the truth of what they are supporting and have supported. It gives them a chance to repent.
We have waited and waited for the glorious awakening, the declass, the locking up of herself….and we are still waiting,
Whenever someone on our side engages with the other side and gives in to their political pressure it validates the wrong stuff. Even if we ultimately prevail against it we run the risk of having helped them make their point.
They will criticize no matter what anyone says and if no one says a word they will create them for us. It would be so much more satisfying to let them have it and just do the right thing.
Of course, that is one reason why I will never be President or anything remotely like it
🙂

There has been a lot of appeasement for the Trump supporter since AG Barr took the job. Lot of hope has been invested into Barr and whatever team he is working with.

This is what I suspect. They dropped the cover investigation in favor of something bigger, that’s going to carry a heavier price.
He still COULD HAVE flipped, but he’s at the viper pit known as CNN.
Interesting plot twist in the movie, though.

They’ve only dropped the investigation arising from Horowitz’s 2018 referral.
This has nothing to do with Durham’s investigation which is still ongoing.

Deplorable Patriot

Not before January 20, 2021.
Sorry, I know people are anxious for temporal justice, but I have serious doubts anything of the perp walk sort is going to happen before the presidency is assured for the second term.

gil00

Thats why I expected it last year, then scampeachment was in the way. Theres alwaysxa reason not to advance and THAT is becoming more suspicious.

Deplorable Patriot

Why? I don’t understand. It has to be done when we have both the House and the Senate, the Judiciary, and an Executive Branch with nothing to lose. That won’t be until January 20, 2021 at high noon.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Not quite.
As of January 3rd the new congress is seated.
If PDJT is reelected, it won’t, then, matter that he hasn’t been re-inaugurated yet.

ladypenquin

🙂 Good point.
I do think getting impeachment out of the way was critical. It was an obstacle – not to us, but to the political gamesmanship in DC and keeping POTUS safe.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

I personally do NOT want to wait until after the election.
Leaving these people in place until the election risks them being able to arrange for PDJT to lose that election (i.e., cheaters can get away with more).
Pulling them out and putting them on trial INCREASES his chances of being declared the winner AND could increase his actual margin of victory and the length of his coat tails.
And we need that; we have many other problems to solve (for example our ballooning budget) and can’t do it with sllm majorities, because with the standard percentage of effing RINOS, slim majorities…aren’t majorities

ladypenquin

oh, I agree. I don’t want to wait until after the election either. For now, I see this as things I have no control over, no matter my concern or outrage. So I have to let it play out.
I believe in POTUS. I believe that he has the means to take out the Swamp. Until all the investigations are closed – I don’t give up.

gil00

Because the majority of people arent going to sit and wait and wait and wait for optimal prime supposed conditions. Most believe you have ti seize an opportunity with the best conditions, not perfect, and they need to have concrete visual advancement, not silent war subterfuge and games. On 1/20 we may have optimal conditions but no guarantees. I believe POTUS will win reelection, but most people, or at least men, dont want to feel impotent by the inability to promote and participate in action for “the good guys”. Thats where a huge part of the anger and frustration is.
The bs deep state lies and treason is laid plain and its natural to want justice now.

🦋🤸‍♀️🦋bflyjesusgrl🦋🤸‍♀️🦋

I do. With Flynn and Stone being prosecuted for Lying and now NOT Comey and McCabe for same and worse??? Public is justifiably OUTRAGED at 2 Tiered Justice System. Maybe that’s the plan? People will only calm down IF they believe there is a bigger plan, Durham. We are being asked to wait until Spring. We keep being asked to wait, years of patience is on fumes. But what if nothing comes of that?? That just might burn us down and could cost POTUS re-election – he won’t/can’t enforce rule of law? – CAN’T BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!
I personally think they SHOULD charge ALL the crimes. Stack em up! Drain the crooks of resources and energy fighting these little ones, then throw the big ones at em! Slow roll em, one at a time, keep battering them! Then use them as leverage negotiation, you plead to Treason and we’ll drop lying. , parking tickets. etc.. Bankrupt the hell out of them, just like they did to Flynn. Doubt that will happen, Republicans are too nice and decent. Downside for us would be that approach also ties up DOJ resources on small stuff which could be better focused on more bigger issues.
All i know is DOJ better get it’s $hit together and soon!!!

Deplorable Patriot

So, maybe the idea is to keep the people up in arms.
Huh.
Take a page out of the other side’s book to keep focus. Because, seriously, if they didn’t fart around, interest would be on the wane in one quick hurry.

jamcooker

Absolutely!!!!! It also has the benefit of showing how corrupt the judicial system still is, judges, juries, prosecutors and even some defending attorneys. It demonstrates the need for military tribunals, which I still think will be utilized, but not until after Trump is re-elected, and probably for some names further up the food chain that really haven’t been discussed yet (except by anons).

🦋🤸‍♀️🦋bflyjesusgrl🦋🤸‍♀️🦋

Greg J, Sydney on Hannity radio, a bit disappointed on McCabe, believe more
is coming. Optimistic about Flynn development.

ladypenquin

I’ve seen word on twitter that it’s likely the DC Grand Jury wouldn’t return an indictment… could well be true. But, prosecutors can indict if they feel they have enough evidence, regardless of a GJ. We don’t even know if this went before a grand jury.
If it didn’t then it makes sense that this charge is let go – in order for the Big Picture is dealt with.

rayzorbak

I’m with you and DP on this….
Had to get the JUDGES in place.
Crooks Like Contreras and berman-Jackson and the like have to be SHOWN to be CORRUPT.
When do birds sing?…… in the spring.
I can wait that much longer.
I think the hammer will drop closer to elections.
Before…. not after….
so as to not let POTUS backers get too disappointed.
Phuc the DEMONICrats….. but POTUS needs US….
Or his re-election is in jeopardy.
JMHO

ladypenquin

razor, In life, some things I can do something about, some things I can do nothing about. This is in POTUS and his trusted team’s hands.

rayzorbak

and….. God’s 🙂

ladypenquin

Yes, and that’s where we get our strength. Come to think about, POTUS does too. 🙂

Deplorable Patriot

I will also say this: in my home state, when a person has multiple counts of, say, first degree homicide against them, a lot of times not all charges are tried at once just in case a jury comes back with a not guilty verdict. If that happens, there’s more charges to prosecute.
I get the idea this is where DoJ is headed.

ladypenquin

Yes, and really does anyone believe McCabe thinks he’s home free? I don’t they know what they did, they know what’s being looked at.
Why else would CNN and the other commies start talking about forgive and move on? POTUS? Nope – he is going to make sure it all is revealed, and dealt with. Barr isn’t going to attach his name to a coverup of the biggest political crimes in American history – one that almost took down the government and the country.

ladypenquin

I’m still with Brian.

Mohammed Al-Jadaan, From 1/11/2016 To Date
Turki bin Faisal Al Saud:

He is still in power.

…a Saudi politician and diplomat. A member of the House of Saud, he currently serves as the chairman of King Faisal Foundation’s Center for Research and Islamic Studies.
From 1977 to 2001, Prince Turki was the director general of Al Mukhabarat Al ‘Ammah, Saudi Arabia’s intelligence agency, resigning the position on 1 September 2001, some ten days before the September 11 attacks in which 14 Saudi nationals hijacked commercial American airliners. Prince Turki subsequently served as ambassador to the Court of St. James’s and the United States.[1]….
Prince Turki bin Faisal is a commissioner in the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament.[57][58] He is deputy chairman of Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA).[59] He is also vice president of general authority of civil aviation for international organizations and was elected as first vice president of the regional bureau of Asia-Pacific within airports council international.[59]
He taught at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He is also a co-chair of the C100 Group, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum. C-100 Group encourages interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.[60]
He visited many American universities and has lectured on the history of Saudi Arabia to improve relations between the West and Saudi Arabia. He also visited the University of South Florida, Syracuse University, Rice University, Cornell University, and Harvard University. In November 2010, he spoke at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.[61]
Prince Turki acts as one of the top speakers of the Kingdom. …

Then there is this:

…..Sithambaram: In hindsight, instead of asking (fugitive financier Low Taek Jho) Jho Low to whom the money was sent, would it not be more prudent to check with the donor?
Najib: I did not check because Jho Low was the conduit of the royal family.
Sithambaram: It is a very large sum of money. Wouldn’t it be more prudent to check with the person who wrote you the letter?
Najib: No, because Jho Low was nominated by the royal family because he was dealing with Prince (Faisal) Al Turki at that time.
Sithambaram: How do you know this as a fact? Did the royalty put both of you in a room and told you that Jho Low is their nominee?
Najib: No, I know it as a fact.
The court was also told that the defence team would consider calling former Attorney General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali to testify.
This was mentioned when the prosecution raised the events surrounding the appointment of Apandi as the AG in July 2015.
Najib was referred to a press statement issued by Apandi which cleared him of wrongdoings related to SRC International, a subsidiary of 1MDB…..

of an President then the President is powerless. The Senate allowed a president of impeaching an innocent man and not kicking it back to the House because of fraught.

Deplorable Patriot

True story:
my sister and I were in line for a ride called “Thunder River” at Six Flags StL some years ago now. Ahead of us in line, there was a boy, I’d say 12-14, maybe a little younger, who was acting out, squealing, etc. My sister – who holds a degree in in early childhood development – was getting irritated, and saying, what is his problem. I had been watching this kid, and said, “I think he’s autistic.” And I meant REAL autistic as in couldn’t speak. My sister watched for not even 15 seconds, realized I was right, and said, “Oh, that’s cruel, to make him stand in this line.”
In Jungian and Myers-Briggs terms, that’s the difference between being perceptive and judging. I’m perceptive. My sister is judging…and there’s another story that goes with that.
Out at Six Flags that time, my irritation was with the caregivers who did that to a person who should not have been there, and my sister who was impatient and judged them right out of the box, even if she was right in this instance.
I usually use that story to explain that my sister and I are polar opposites in personality, but it applies here, IMO. The surface is just the beginning. We do not know what we do not know. We are NOT active participants, but are watching a movie, a show where things are happening backstage that would make an audience’s hair curl. And that might be the difference coming from a performance background. I know darn well and good that the audience never sees it all. And, when floating in still water, you have no idea what’s one foot under the surface.
This is just a little bit of where I’m coming from/

patfrederick

I am the type of person who walks out of a movie (when i used to go) if I didn’t like it…
i buy books for my kindle, but if there’s too many errors in grammar or a character changes names or other glaring mistakes, i don’t give the author another shot…

I think your approach of patience is about right. As you’ve said before (as I remember it), “I know what I don’t know”. I also agree on that.

Deplorable Patriot

I don’t know what I don’t know.
Funny, what I am most impatient with is adults who are impatient. Most things…it is what it is. Deal with what is in front of you.
When it comes to all this swampian stuff, I am not in control. All I get to do is watch. Do I like it? Doesn’t matter. I have no control over it.
Now if this were happening with family members…that’s another story.

Ddanna

I’m calm with you DP — waiting to see!

ladypenquin

No, I’ve weighed in. I can’t give up my faith and belief in POTUS being stronger than the weakest link in his cabinet. He knows, and he knows that we know. Barr and Durham aren’t the type to let their legacy be stained by the likes of the commies who tried to overthrow this country – including what the Clintons did.

jamcooker

I fully support the position of patience. There’s a myriad of reasons for things to roll out slow. Remember when we were told that things were worse than we could even imagine? Well, we as anons have learned a whole lot and there’s more that we suspect but others don’t have any inkling of. We really need to remind ourselves, that while our numbers are growing, that for some of the cleansing that needs to be done, there is a need for enough support from voters, otherwise all the careful efforts could all go for naught. More and more people are waking up.
People are not liking the vitriol coming from the left, it’s helping to wake up people. More people are seeing the injustice. It is necessary, but very painful for us who wish for immediate justice. It’s coming.
The news focus is all on the lower hanging fruit right now. Go back and look at the drops concerning the higher hanging fruits. Do you think they’ve been forgotten and ignored? I haven’t forgotten about them and I know our President hasn’t either. He is a man of great patience when seeking justifiable and prosecutable revenge.

One upsetting part for many citizens is that McCabe has admitted to lying under oath. From a NY Post article on January 2:
Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe apologized for lying to agents who spent weeks investigating the source of a leak to the Wall Street Journal that actually came from him, new documents reveal. Shortly before the 2016 election, The Journal reported that an FBI investigation was underway involving then-candidate Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.
McCabe in May 2017 denied that he was the source of the leak — but later fessed up, angering bureau investigators who had been spinning their wheels trying to identify the source of the leak. The documents, which the FBI released in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by the government watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, include transcripts of McCabe’s conversations with investigators, who were frustrated after wasting their time on the probe.

I wish there was an “agree” button instead of a “like” button.
Because I don’t like this at all. But I do agree with your take on it.

Deplorable Patriot

I don’t. Those who scream loudest.
I’m astounded at the level of vitriol and hatred, emotional clouding from otherwise more or less rational people.
There’s more going on here.

phoenixrising37

Of course he would be gloating… he’s been part of HRC’s hit team for over 20 years…
The bureau didn’t become rotten when zero went into the Oval Office… it was rotten when Dubya was there…

What is wrong with you guys?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

One Man can clean this up.
One man has ultimate authority.
Where does the buck stop?
Trump has lost my support as of today.
He can regain it by fixing this shit.

phoenixrising37

Lost your support?
One man can clean this up?
You really have no idea what we are up against, do you?

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

He can fire anyone at DOJ.
Yet these shenanigans keep happening.

phoenixrising37

HE CANNOT FIRE ANYONE AT DoJ… they must be confirmed by Senate. Barr is attempting to cement his profile as his own man, apolitical.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

He can fire them–and an ACTING whatever takes their place.
Eventually he’s got to find someone who will do the effing job.

phoenixrising37

So not you know what he should be doing. The man just slammed the entire DIM Party and a few RHINOS by tossing “impeachment’ in their face, and YOU know what he should do?
Don’t think so.

MAGA Mom

Agree….kind of
100% fed up….100% supportive of President Trump
Such a deep swamp and he is so limited due swamp ready to pounce with all kinds of changes if he makes the wrong move
Be 100% fed up and ready to take political action v. waiting for President Trump to be able to do it all.
Be motivated v. discouraged.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

We have a two tiered justice system in this country.
That isn’t the problem. The problem is that the two tiers work in the opposite way that they should.
A government employee gets immunity, and an ordinary “little guy” does not.
It should be, that the system comes down HARD on the government people, harder than on the little guy. Because we have entrusted these people with power and they chose to abuse it.
They should not be allowed to take the fifth, when it comes to an investigation of their malfeasance. It’s stuff they did for a job they took voluntarily, a position of trust, we trusted them with power over us. We clearly need an additional check on them.

phoenixrising37

Why do you think President Trump said in 2018 that the “Senate is key” ……………….?
Why do you think Mitch is appointing so many judges? Why do you think the Courts are key?
POTUS has a pretty good idea of the really bad US ATTYs in place, but he can’t do anything with the DIM controlled House ready to impeach again and a CIA controlled media slamming him daily.

Deplorable Patriot

Taking the fifth is their right whether we like or or not.

scott467

Not if we change the Law it isn’t.
People who go into the military give up all sorts of rights… it couldn’t work any other way.
We can apply those same laws to civil government.

singularzoe

Well, I always thought so, DP, but when you are asked to testify as an employee, rather than as a private person, I’m not sure what I think about that. Another example is freedom of speech, which an employer can restrict within one’s employment. I’m not reaching conclusions about these things, just thinking them through. When one is employed, one is not supposed to be acting for one’sself in the capacity of your employment.

Deplorable Patriot

For what’s worth, I believe Barr had to wait to make some moves, ie. appointing an outside prosecutor to look at General Flynn’s case, until POTUS’ impeachment issue was done. Even another impeachment won’t tie his hands. The first one had to be gone through.
Notice how Barr has made several moves recently. Our Congress critters are making moves. Expect more to happen.

Birds of a feather auditing each other is not going to uncover misdeeds. Just sayin’

pgroup

As a retired paralegal, I find it stunning that Barr appointed a special prosecutor to review the Flynn case AND released that info to the public. I have never heard of such a thing before. IOW it’s unprecedented.
It also makes most of the complaining comments look really weak.

pgroup

I forgot a key point in my previous comment – that the Flynn case is still active and has motions pending WHILE it is about to be investigated. That’s like a high wire act between finding wrongdoing and improper influencing the case.

ladypenquin

Interesting, and you’re right. Judge Sullivan couldn’t help but be aware of what Barr just did – and that makes Sullivan’s position shaky. If he has any smarts he knows this.
OTOH, if an “outside” prosecutor finds that the charges are bogus, and the current prosecutors are guilty of misconduct, then the government withdraws the case.
Sullivan may have got wind that this was going to happen, outside prosecutor, which is why he took the case off his calendar. Flynn still waiting on sentencing.

HMMMmmmmm
We know the Chinese and Hezbollah use drug gangs to ‘attack’ the USA. Would these drug runners then fall under the definition of ‘agents of foreign powers’? Esp. those associated with the TERRORIST organization Hezbollah?
FISA

….FISA was initially enacted in 1978 and sets out procedures for physical and electronic surveillance and collection of foreign intelligence information. Initially, FISA addressed only electronic surveillance but has been significantly amended to address the use of pen registers and trap and trace devices, physical searches, and business records…..
* For purposes of FISA, agents of foreign powers include agents of foreign political organizations and groups engaged in international terrorism, as well as agents of foreign nations….
Note that “agents of foreign powers” may include U.S. citizens and permanent residents suspected of being engaged in espionage and violating U.S. law on territory under United States control. Section 1801(b).
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, P.L. 108-458, amended the definition of “agent of a foreign power” in FISA (50 U.S.C. § 1801(b)(1)), to add a new category of covered individuals called the “lone wolf” provision. Under the “lone wolf” provision, a non-United States person who engages in international terrorism or activities in preparation for international terrorism is deemed to be an “agent of a foreign power” under FISA…..
Exception to Court Order Requirement: The President may authorize electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year without a FISC court order where the Attorney General certifies that there is “no substantial likelihood that the surveillance will acquire the contents of any communication to which a U.S. person is a party,” provided the surveillance is directed solely at communications among or between foreign powers, or “the acquisition of technical intelligence … from property or premises under the open and exclusive control of a foreign power.”

SteveInCO says at 17:44
“He can fire anyone at DOJ.”
NO THE PRESIDENT CAN NOT! And that is the major problem.
Unfortunately the DOJ lawyers are part of the Union workers who are PROTECTED.
Sorry I can not access that info anymore, but I did the investigation a couple years ago and posted it OT. WORSE you are trying to fire LAWYERS.

In the federal government, firing an employee is the easy part. Keeping them fired is where things get difficult. Federal employees can appeal any serious disciplinary action to two different agencies (the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), enlist the legal expertise of a third agency (the Office of Special Counsel), and, of course, involve their union representative….
Holding federal employees accountable is essentially impossible. They have the highest job security of any sector of the economy. In fact, out of a federal non-military workforce of 2.1 million, only 11,046 persons—or 0.5 percent—were fired in 2017.
One reason for this is the cumbersome process managers must endure to fire a single employee. Multiple appeals involving as many as four separate agencies, as well as union representatives, are not uncommon. This process can last years even in the most cut-and-dry cases.
Faced with such obstacles, federal managers often let misconduct go unaddressed….
Today, even if an employee is clearly guilty of misconduct or chronic poor performance, the Merit Systems Protection Board can overturn a punishment it finds to be too harsh…..
https://www.dailysignal.com/2018/07/19/firing-a-bad-federal-employee-may-get-a-little-easier/

President Trump did try to improve the situation.
https://www.fedsmith.com/2018/06/03/executive-order-firing-policies-leaves-federal-employees-contemplating-job-security/

“NO THE PRESIDENT CAN NOT! And that is the major problem.

_______________
He can fire anybody he wants, a hundred different ways.
Reagan fired the entire Air Traffic Controllers Union, a.k.a. the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization or PATCO
All 11,359 of them.
He could fire 10 times that many corrupt lawyers and not even make a dent.
Even if it was true that he couldn’t fire them (which I don’t believe it is), he can reassign them to the North Pole. And the South Pole. He can make their lives so miserable that they will quit TOMORROW.
The president of the United States is NOT powerless and helpless in the face of the bureaucratic machine.
He can BLOW IT UP whenever he wants.

Deplorable Patriot

I’m afraid the president can fire anyone he wants to get rid of, union “rules” or not. Others have given examples. I will also say the president can order workers back on the job, a la, GHWB telling the rail road people to get back on the job. Without rail, we are dead in the water here in the USA freight, energy and other wise.

scott467

“…In the federal government, firing an employee is the easy part. Keeping them fired is where things get difficult. Those appear to be the intentionally created, 100% subversive bottlenecks, whose sole purpose is the obstruct the will of the People and our Representatives by a lawless permanent bureaucracy of Leftists.
De-fund and De-commission both the EEOC and the MSPB as a matter of national security.
The president can do it tonight, before midnight.
Fire everybody.
For every person who decides to fight back, bring the full weight and force of the federal government against them. Bankrupt them, each and every one. It would be easy, and cost less than the amount of monthly aid we give to Stanstanistan.
The essential ingredient that is always missing is the will to do it, to do whatever it takes to win.
Once you decide to win, figuring out what actions are necessary is easy. They practically present themselves in sequential order.
As for the MSPB, I found this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Merit_Systems_Protection_Board
“The board has gone without a quorum for the entire Trump administration, with the last member to retire at the end of February 2019.”
If the Trump administration has not (or has not allowed) members of the board of the MSPB to be replaced, and last member is scheduled to retire by the end of February 2019… roughly a year ago… then shut it down already.
Take the word “can’t” OUT OF YOUR VOCABULARY.
Then DO IT.
This is why revolutions happen.
Because bad people are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect themselves and feather their nests, and good people are not willing to do anything to stop them.
This leads to random individual acts of vigilantism, followed by more, and more, until the revolution is well underway and nobody quite remembers when it actually began.

Just a suggestion to the people here who are looking at the surface and seeing rapids when it’s really just the wind making ripples on the surface of the river, y’all might check out a stage play made into a movie titled “Noises Off.” The second act is all about what happens back stage that the audience does not see, and is one of the funniest scripts out there on this matter. And, to be honest, it’s pretty accurate. Backstage is always more entertaining than what’s being offered for the audience.
Just a suggestion. We’re watching a movie, according to Q, so whatever we’re seeing on the surface is not what is really happening, and we can’t do a darn thing about it.

Revenge is a dish best served stone cold.

scott467

“Revenge is a dish best served stone cold.”
_____________
Why?
Why do people always say that?
It doesn’t make any sense, in and of itself.
Why would anyone want revenge served cold, anyway?
Hot makes a lot more sense.
‘Cold’ is an absence of action.
Like ‘cold anger’, roughly translated, means ‘stew in your juices and never do anything to change the circumstances, just bear an unjust burden for eternity — i.e., shut up and take it.
Hot anger is an entirely different thing.
Hot anger nearly always involves action.
And action is what is needed — always — in order to change a dynamic, or circumstance, which is contrary to Justice.
I looked up this “Revenge” quote to find out who to blame, and it turns out to be a meaningless quote by nobody.
Which is what I kind of guessed.
Like so much other bull&%$# in this world.

AG Barr.
– Surely “played” along with getting Jessie Liu out of DOJ.
– Surely intervening with Stone. Moar coming as DC prosecutors getting a look from outside folks. Sad part is still DOJ doing the looking.
– Moves are being made big time on sanctuary cities. BOTH on the legal side by suing and SWAT agents moving into sanctuary cities.
AND, above all else, President Trump will NOT let the coup plotters off the hook.
SO, I am OK with things as they are proceeding.
