Roll up your sleeves. This is an official STATE VISIT. Days of pomp and ceremony and…… it looks like a trade deal is on the schedule.
It will take a LONG time to get to India, and the events are scheduled for February 24-25, thus today is mostly a travel day. Let’s use it to brush up on the background.
The event is being called: “Kem Chho Trump”, or “How Are You Trump”
Let’s get oriented on our map of India.
Where they will go —- The Trumps will visit New Delhi and Ahmedabad, which is in Mr. Modi’s home state of Gujarat and “played such an important role in Mahatma Gandhi’s life and leadership of the Indian independence movement,” said White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham. = https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/feb/10/donald-and-melania-trump-visit-india-feb-24-25/
The President and FLOTUS Melania will travel to New Delhi (Capital of India) and Ahmedabad (Capital of the State of Gujarat and home of Modi). New Delhi is located at the top of India in the middle. You see it? The Yamuna River flows through New Delhi, and if you follow the Yumana south, about 130 miles, we come to the town of Agra, famous for it’s rich red sandstone, ancient and gorgeous, …….. and on the banks of the Yamuna, sits the Taj Mahal.
They’re really in New Delhi to visit the Presidential Palace. and in Gujarat to open the largest cricket stadium in the world. The Stadium holds 110K people. Yet, the buzz is about the trip to the Taj Mahal. The Trumps will get to see the Taj Mahal and the photos of Melania + plus the President……. at the Taj Mahal….. gosh, they will be iconic photos just like Princess Diana (Think I’m joking? The India Press is already talking about the 1992 photo of Diana sitting alone)…. only happier……. Can’t imagine what Secret Service is thinking right now.
The press in India is whipped into a frenzy. I’ve been working on his post for about a week. Putting the finishing touches on it yesterday, there were 40 Trump articles from ONE media outlet in a single day. Everyone is busy in India.
The whole city of Agra is getting spruced up. Huge local controversy about a wall being built to shield a poor section from view. Modi being pilloried in the press for it.
We even have crazy news stories ~~~ worried about Donald Trump being attacked by monkeys at the Taj Mahal. No kidding.
Back to the map from above: From New Delhi, travel WSW and you can see the town of Jodhpur, the shining pink city, because of the sparkles in it’s sandstone. We have some at our house. Keep going SW to the town of Ahmedabad, this is the capitol of the state of Gujarat, and the home of Modi. Yes, Modi wants to bring Trump to his home and it will be like nothing we’ve ever seen in the USA. I recall a wedding Big T and I were invited to in Jodhpur….. there were 14K people there and it lasted for 5 days. No one does a party like the Indians.
Trump’s over-the-top taste for tamasha fits well with that of his host Narendra Modi who is readying a mega show called ‘Kem Chho Trump’ in Ahmedabad, a glitzier and bigger version of the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in which Trump participated.

The billboards are up everywhere….
The Indian and Amerian Flags are lining the streets. The silver is polished. Everyone is ready.

FLOTUS Melania is going to attend a “happiness class” at a public school in South Delhi. Might be a great remedial class for the press.
Indian media reported that Melania pulled 10 women together to assist her during the visit. The FLOTUS is said to meet the group upon her arrival. There are claims that the team was given special training on how to communicate with Melania and was ordered to ditch the customary khaki uniform for blazers and trousers.

From January, when the trip was first announced and a great read:

Okay, the rest of the post is more background. Videos we could find of Modi and Trump together, to see how the two men interacted. I tried to do this in calendar order.
June 26, 2017: At the White House ~ this was “The Hug”
February of 2018: This flew under the radar. President Trump and Modi in a hotline phone call to block China and a rising crisis in the Maldives. Interesting……
June 27th, 2019: G20 In Japan, President Trump aligns with Abe and Modi. Poor Panda Xi was not invited to supper. No ice cream for Xi.
The two leaders also met in August at the G7 summit held in the French town of Biarritz.
The meeting had come just days after the two leaders attended the mega ”Howdy Modi” rally in Houston which was attended by more than 50,000 Indian-Americans in Houston, TX. You HAVE to see this Three Minute Clip.
We have the Leader of India, Modi, of the largest Democracy in the world, and President Trump, the American President and de facto leader of the World…… together, in a stadium with 50K people. WATCH Modi find President Trump in the crowd, grab Trump’s hand……. and never let go. They decide to walk together, Secret Service scrambles (Um, where you going Mr. President, sir?) and photographers start flipping out (This wasn’t on my schedule, MUH SCHEDULE!), trying to capture the iconic moment for history. Watch the crowd reaction. The buzz starts slow and spreads like WILDFIRE. People from the other side of the floor RUN across the middle to catch a glimpse of the two men. Suddenly, there is an ARMY of Black Suit Security around them. What a terrific moment!
Here is the whole thing, expanded version, from FOX. One hour and 23 minutes = whole thing
September of 2019: Trump’s visit follows PM Modi’s tour of the US in September, during which he met with the US President in New York on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
February 12th, 2020. Trump speaks from the Oval about visiting India. “Modi is a great gentlemen.”
And that bring us up to today. It’s going to be a spectacular few days. Get plenty of sleep tomorrow. We’re leaving on a jet plane first thing in the morning. Twitter is on fire about the visit. Take a look at a few postings.
Daughn, Great intro to State visit to India!
Looking forward to trade deal signing. Will be looking for medical related stuff. As well as everything we can do to disengage from China, including updated destinations for our exports. As President trump may invoke again, complicated business folks!
.
.
The NRG video of Modi walking with President Trump, absolutely an unscripted impromptu moment. Anybody for a brisk 1/4 mile walk? Secret Service did not appear to be amused 😉
The way they scrambled so fast made their concern evident
That was pretty interesting to watch the dynamics of it…..did you see the tall Secret Service guy corralling the photographers trying to get by HIM???? Was trying to read his lips but he was like NOPE BUDDY, IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. QUIT THE PUSHING. The guy had to be almost 7 feet tall!
Yes please…new supply chain for pharmaceuticals!
. . . while we build up our own local capacities!
I have a sudden urge to watch Indian movies! Like: bride and prejudice, Monsoon wedding, and viceroys house.
“Padmaavat” stirred up a lot of trouble with the Muzzies and its a great movie. 13th Century married princess drew the attentions of a Muslim Invader. Great scenes, epic fights and sad ending when she and her entire court commit Seti instead of submitting.
Subtitles are okay when it comes to watching Indian Movies. They leave Hollywood in the dust.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padmaavat
Read the last line in the entry.
Please try (and this is a film you shouldn’t judge by its title!) Baby. 2015, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
It’s a Mission Impossible, or something like a Bond-type, of action thriller.
The exciting thing about it is that the villains, instead of being Michael Myers, Bond-villain, imaginary types, wearing white suits, and stroking white cats wearing diamond-studded collars, are based on real people, namely, on the Pakistani terrorists who masterminded the deadly Mumbai attacks of November, 2008.
I’m sure this is my favorite action adventure film of the last decade.
Once you’ve watched the 1st 10 minutes, set in Istanbul, nothing more violent will come in the rest of the film.
Also, please see my next reply, to kea above.
Here is the link to the movie on which the meme Trump retweeted, was based:

For a charming romantic comedy with music, please try Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Something Happens [in the heart]), 1998, directed by Karan Johar. Also known by its initials, KKHH.
This was the first film written by Johar, as well as the first film directed by him, and it went on to be a surprise international superhit.
It’s the story of a nine-year old girl, tasked by her late mother with a secret mission.
Please also see my reply to para59r in this thread.
India has dozens of languages and ethnicities, many of them fairly closely related (branches of the Indo-Iranian branch of Indoeuropean…or branches of the completely distinct Dravidian family of languates). It’s not by any means a monolithic culture. It must be interesting balancing all of that. And made harder by a large Muslim minority.
Another fun fact that the internets seem to have rewoven in favor of the Muslims. An accident practice of rounding up and relocating entire populations was also practiced during the Muslim invasions of India. There were once articles about how the entertainment caste, (acrobats, singers, artists, dancers, musicians etc.. were rounded up and deported in several diaspora’s starting in the 11th century and continuing often through out the centuries in between with some of the last displacements taking place in the 15th century and to shorten the story, in time these peoples became the modern day Roma or gypsies that you’ve heard about today.
Now if you read the internets of today you hear that they either left voluntarily or they were remnants of invading forces that were attacking the Muslims. Nothing about them being taken away as slaves to entertain their Muslim masters. Spit.
Never trust a Brahman. NEVER.
Do they do that bad a job of fitting you?
she didn’t hear ya Steve!
you funny!
Well, she might be along later.
A speaker of Hindi would no doubt find the word confusing. I am 90 percent certain (without knowing a thing about Hindi) that they pronounce that H, or it wouldn’t be there.
I spent some time in Italy as a tourist, and I realized that Italians seem totally oblivious to Hs. When speaking English, they rarely pronounce an H and they didn’t seem to hear them either. But I’m realizing now that WE are almost as oblivious to Hs as Italians are. They are all over asian languages and make a big difference.
Koreans hear a difference between the P in “pot” and the P in “spot,” a difference we never notice (but produce perfectly!). The P in pot is aspirated, and to them that makes it a totally different sound. They hear more difference between P(h) and P than they do between P and B. In fact they equate B and the P in spot, and consider the P in pot to be totally different, so when they want to convey the notion of an unaspirated, pure “P” they will often write or think “B”.
It’s true for Pinyin, too, the Chinese “Romanization” scheme. Beijing is actually pronounced more like Peking than we realize (but don’t, don’t, DON’T aspirate that P or K).
Anyhow…that’s less entertaining than jokes aboutr bras, I know.
Hindi is like you mention Korean is in regard to aspiration, and the opposite of Italian in regard to stand-alone “H”s:
In Hindi, not only is every “H” pronounced, but it is voiced. This means the vocal chords vibrate on every Hindi H, like they do for English consonants like M and B, or like they do normally for the vowels of every language. So the voiced Hindi H has a meatier, more solid quality than the comparatively wimpy, voiceless H of English.
I did not know about the voicing of the H in Hindi. But I guess that makes sense to me in my ignorance, which has the impression is that it tends to follow voiced stops like B and D.
Asian languages in general tend to put aspiration or H in a much more prominent role, such as in Korean where it is actually phonemic (can make the difference between two different words) unlike in English where we unconsciously aspirate our unvoiced stops–and no one would really notice if we were to stop! I could, possibly, force myself to stop aspirating the p in pot, and probably all that would happen is people would think I was talking funny but not be able to put their finger on what it was that was odd. They’d have no confusion, like a Korean would have with people mixing up p and p(h) while trying to speak Korean.
I was speaking of the standalone Hs in Hindi.
The Hs in Roman script that come immediately after Bs, Ds, and so forth (e.g. bhavan “palace”, dharm “duty, discipline”, usually written “dharma” in English, to match the original Sanscrit pronunciation) in Hindi are used as indicators that the preceding consonant is aspirated.
In the native Devanagari script, there is a separate character to represent each aspirated stop and each unaspirated stop.
Here are examples, if your unicode settings are up to viewing Devanagari:
भ=bha (aspirated B, followed by A as in English “about”)
भ्=bh (just the aspirated consonant, viram mark below suppressing the following vowel)
भवन=bhavan
ब=ba (unaspirated)
बन्द or बंद or बनद (Imagine a viram under the न. I don’t know how to type the 3rd form of the word correctly on this keyboard without autocorrect to the 1st case.)
=band “closed, tied”
(English “band” and German “Bund” are cognates. English “cummerbund”, worn in both Indian and, now, Western weddings, is a borrowing from Hindi: कमरबन्द=कमर=kamar “waist” + बन्द “tied”)
The way I typed the 3rd form, without viram, it would be pronounced “banad”, which I’m pretty sure is a non-word.
dental (soft-sounding) consonants, unaspirated forms as in Romance languages:
ध=dha
धर्म=dharm
द=da
दाल=daal “bean, beans”
देवनागरी=devnaagari “Devanagari”
थ=tha
त=ta
retroflex (hard-sounding) consonants:
ढ=Dha
ड=Da
डाल=Daal “branch”
ठ=Tha
ट=Ta
These examples of aspirated vs. unaspirated characters are not comprehensive.
I don’t imagine they are.
Yes, I was conflating two different things.
The Asian language I know the most about (this is a very low bar) is Indonesian. I don’t *think* it makes aspirated/unaspirated distinctions, but it does do standalone Hs at the end of words and those MUST be pronounced. Their phrase for thank you is “terima kasih” (emphases on the ri and the ka), and you pronounce that H, it’s not a way to make the i in machine into the i in bit or something like that. (Indonesian uses the Latin alphabet, so “terima kasih” is the actual phrase, not a transliteration.)
It’s probably like pulling teeth to get the average English speaker to pronounce that damn H.
In your comment below regarding Indonesian, I suspect you are right about aspirates.
In “Bahasa Indonesia” (“Indonesian language”) the “bahasa”, “language” comes from none other than
भाषा=bhaaSHaa,
Sanscrit for “language”, with “aa”=A as in English “father”, and “SH”=retroflex version of “sh”.
Indonesian is loaded with loan words. And “grammar” (i.e., inflectional stuff like most Indoeuropean languages have) has been stripped down to the bone, but there are an awful lot of forms of address depending on who you are addressing, to show respect.
It has been called the language we should probably just use instead of Esperanto, it’s that easy–supposedly.
I can’t wait to see what Melania wears! 🙂
Same here, Kea. I’ll probably be up in the middle of the night so I can watch them arrive and see what Melania is wearing. I’m a sucker for that stuff.
🙂 I mean how else am I suppose to see it. She should be on EVER cover of ever magazine but sadly no. So I need my fix somewhere.
And finally, someone who knows how to dress!!!
Yes!!!! I totally agree! Thank heavens no thigh high glitter boots or black widow spider dresses!
LOL, Kea…you and millions of others! Rather amusing that so many will make an effort to watch to see the First Lady fashion show. Why, although she would never admit it…I bet Michelle will even take a look at Melania’s outfits….to get some fashion tips, of course. 😂
Daughn – Thank you for the excellent preview. I really like that list of people traveling with our President. God Bless them all and safe trip…
I was delighted to see Kash Patel on the trip.
Yes, me too!
We are living in a time that World History will be written like no other time in our lives. What an amazing time it is to be alive.
Night and God bless Daughn, you better get some rest your gonna need it to keep up with President Trump lol we all are gonna need rest to keep up with that Amazing man…
Ffs. Did you see that ss dude behind Potus ? Must be 8 ft tall and built like a brick.
The ss did look stressed.
Potus giving them ulcers
Ozzy— I posted above the same dang thing….reading linearly and posting inline…so now I see your post….We are literally posting the same things two days in a row now….are we twins?? HAHA
I’m living ,rent free, in another head.
My version of prepping.
There is extreme symbolism at play. Modi grasped Trump with his left hand — the one used for hygiene or protection. Trump allowed Modi to lead him around Modi’s space with his right hand controlled — Modi was guaranteeing protection. If Modi goes limp and demands US protection, Trump can rightfully ask, “what the hell were you peacocking around pretending you were powerful?”
Our VSGPOTUSDJT wants India to step up and police the region, and was willing to play second-fiddle to Modi if Modi did so…..it’s now on his shoulders.
A long day of travel today aboard AF1 for President and First Lady!
Official Schedule:
8:40 AM – The President and The First Lady depart the White House en route to Joint Base Andrews
8:50 AM – The President and The First Lady arrive at Joint Base Andrews
Joint Base Andrews
9:00 AM – The President and The First Lady depart Washington, D.C., en route to Ramstein Air Base, Germany,
10:25 PM – The President and The First Lady arrive at Ramstein Air Base, Germany
11:55 PM – The President and The First Lady depart Ramstein Air Base en route to Ahmedabad, India
…and still hours of flying time before they get to India!
When I went to India many years ago (funny how that phrase comes up so often these days!)… early 80’s….the flight was 21 hours. I wonder how long it is today.
I made the mistake of flying Air India, by choice, thinking it would be colorful and unique. That it was! It was a 747 and I was stuck in the middle of one of those long rows of seats…never again.
It was in the days of very liberal carry- on luggage…basically if you could carry something it went on. There were microwaves, TVs and every imaginable appliance you could imagine stuffed in every space.
But, the thing I recall most was the smell of curry and spices…literally oozing from the pores of the overwhelmingly ratio of Indian passengers…and lots of babies.
At one point I just wanted to stand up and scream…”I can’t take it anymore!”…I thought I might die before we landed!
If you travel in India it involves many local flights, none of which were even close to being on schedule…by hours.
India, Nepal and Bhutan was my first major overseas adventure trip and the stories I could tell….
BTW, I don’t remember any monkeys at the Taj Mahal (truly unforgettable!) but they were a terrible nuisance, and sometimes dangerous one, in Nepal. Very aggressive. I do remember the cobra snakes at the Taj.
Ohhh, man, you’ve been to Nepal?
What did you think?
Definitely on my bucket list.
My stay in Nepal was heavy on the adventure side…lots of serous hiking in high altitudes and a VERY adventurous 2-day white water rafting trip on the Trishuli River, with a frightening capsize losing most of our gear. Major highlight was taking a small plane along the Himalayas and being so close to Mt. Everest…on a rare clear day.
Other memory was eating everything in sight after 3 weeks of subsisting on bread and bottled water while traveling in India…food there was basically unsafe, difficult to obtain, incredibly spicy hot and inedible.
At the time, India was very difficult to travel in…each state was basically still it’s own kingdom with it’s own religious rules, and you literally had to bribe your way. We had an expat British military guide but, of course, he couldn’t speak all the languages so had many local guides as well.
We took our only privately charted plane out of Kathmandu in the middle of a rough field to a place in northern India, final destination that night to a place called Tiger Tops. Had armed guards escorting us through some jungle, but with the usual “security stop” that turned out to be the usual 2 hours. The final bribe….a promise to bring a set of false teeth to the Captain on our guide’s next trip.
Tiger Tops, owned and managed by young adults who had been educated in the States or UK, but expected to return for their arranged marriages and live the rest of their days there, We were advised to bring liquor (residents could not buy) and books. No meat was allowed but they caught a range chicken, scrawny and tough, to be shared by about a dozen of us. They had electricity for about 2 hours a day ( often at 3 am)
Daughn, I understand Katmandu has become quite a popular tourist area with direct flights from many places….and, of course, that brings a lot of changes, not always for the better. Not the innocent, unspoiled culture it once was. We saw the child god, just as part of the native life…..but I suspect he is brought out for a daily appearance in the window for $$$ these days.
Sorry, too long…so many memories…
This is a FASCINATING story.
Thank you so much for sharing, Teagan.
“False teeth”, sometimes you never know what it will take…..
Thanks for the schedule…it’s fun to Mentally follow their journey.
However, it appears at some point the times switch from our Eastern Standard to local.
If they leave at 9 am EST, it would not take them until 10:30 pm EST to arrive in Germany….so I’m guessing it switches to local time when they touch down.
Knowing our POTUS, he will be eager to deplane and “press some flesh” with the troops before heading on the next phase of that long flight.
Daughn, thank you. This is the bestest thread, as usual. You provide all the information I could possibly want to know about the trip. And what you don’t, someone else always does. Love my QTreepers.
We love you too, Sylvia 💖💖 G’night Sweetheart !
Night, Alison! Big hug to you!!!
Monkeys are aggressive, vicious and dangerous. (think radical leftist Democrats)
One brilliant scientist at the U of FL was bitten by a monkey in a lab and became so ill, it cost him his PhD. He kept working at UFL Shands Medical Center and eventually came up with an antioxidant therapy for ataxia that has benefitted my daughter and may have slowed the advancement of her disease, kept her at her best levels of health, and saved her life a couple of times when she developed infections.
Monkeys carry many diseases that can infect humans.
Ebola
Marburg hemorrhagic fever
Herpese B virus (Cercopithecine herpesvirus 1),
monkeypox,
yellow fever,
simian immunodeficiency virus,
tuberculosis
hepatitis
a new adenovirus….
and several other new diseases….

Thanks for this wonderful thread post, Daughn!
😀🤗😊👏👍
Nice work! Love all the details.
Thanks for rounding up all those videos, too.
That really sets the stage and gets us ready for this trip!
✈️👳♂️👳♀️🥻🕌🍛🐒🐵🧞
It’s going to be epic!
Wheatie, I found this for your saturday treehouse. Wild, huh?
That’s pretty cool!
Thanks, Daughn!
Now, if I could figure out how to pull that Gif off of the tweet…
way above my head.
we need Steve, or Wolfie.
President and First Lady’s luggage is probably being loaded in AF1 about now. All those gorgeous coats, dresses, gowns and stilletos! All those red ties, Brioni suits and shockingly white shirts for Our Guy.
https://www.quora.com/What-brand-of-suits-does-Donald-Trump-wear?share=1
Press will be assembling on the WH lawn shortly – PDJT and First Lady will board Marine One at 8:40 am this morning.
They will be flying all day arriving Germany around 10:30 pm and leaving around midnight. After Germany hours and hours of flight time to India.
Good thing the President had the AF1 bed enlarged and improved. Bet it’s now an XL King size or a pair of XL Queens. The first couple are both quite tall.
Correction – stilettos!
I remember one foreign trip, can’t remember which one it was…. and a stack of LV luggage came out of the WH. I was thinking, the price of the luggage alone would have paid off a mortgage.
And WHERE I wonder, does PDJT get those impossibly white shirts.
Every time he stands next to another man with a white shirt it’s obvious PDJT’s shirts are superior.
Melania will be spectacular.
We know that.
Can’t wait to see……..
Imagine trying to decide what to wear for a visit to the Taj Mahal, when you KNOW the photo will be circulated for generations. Gotta pick the right outfit.
Honestly, in my perfect world,…… the story behind the Taj Mahal is a rapturous love story. If PDJT took a bent knee, in tribute to his wife, Melania, in front of the Taj Mahal………. as the only person in the world to which he would kneel…………. his approval rating with women would go through the roof. Golden opportunity.
Can’t WAIT for it all to get started.
The Taj Mahal at L’heure Bleu….
The True Story of the Taj Mahal
The story of the Taj Mahal that most of us have known about may not be the real truth. Herein Mr. P. N. Oak presents an interesting set of proofs that show a completely different story. Contrary to what visitors are made to believe the Tajmahal is not a Islamic mausoleum but an ancient Shiva Temple known as Tejo Mahalaya which the 5th generation Moghul emperor Shahjahan commandeered from the then Maharaja of Jaipur. The Taj Mahal, should therefore, be viewed as a temple palace and not as a tomb. That makes a vast difference. You miss the details of its size, grandeur, majesty and beauty when you take it to be a mere tomb. When told that you are visiting a temple palace you wont fail to notice its annexes, ruined defensive walls, hillocks, moats, cascades, fountains, majestic garden, hundreds of rooms archaded verendahs, terraces, multi stored towers, secret sealed chambers, guest rooms, stables, the trident (Trishul) pinnacle on the dome and the sacred, esoteric Hindu letter “OM” carved on the exterior of the wall of the sanctum sanctorum now occupied by the cenotaphs. For detailed proof of this breath taking discovery, you may read the well known historian Shri. P. N. Oak’s celebrated book titled ” Tajmahal : The True Story”

Photographic Evidence – Taj Mahal a Vedic Temple

Right eilert… appears Muslims have tried to take over Hinduism with fabrication of such tales… (but that’s what they do right?)
Most scholars believe Hinduism started somewhere between 2300 B.C. and 1500 B.C. in the Indus Valley, near modern-day Pakistan.
Muhammad was a really ‘Johnny come lately’ – didn’t even start writing verses for the Koran until the year 610 of the Common Era.
India is Hindu Country, with Buddhism much more popular than Islam.
Departure imminent…..
The Marine helicopters and the Beast have already arrived in India…
Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trump’s trip to India will be spectacular. He is much admired there. He has a long To-do list. He will sign off on a Lockheed & Boeing military aircraft deal, insist they remove trade tariffs on our products and meet with their business leaders to sell, sell, sell Made in U.S.A.
Time to get rid of Indian tariffs on American goods.
And it’s really time to bring the call centers home to the USA.
^^ This right here ^^
Presidential video, he is so cute.

Now about those monkeys….will the guys with slingshots be able to differentiate the monkeys from the presstitutes? 😉
Now you’ve put a smile on my face Vol……………………..
Let’s hear it for the Monkeys ……….
I like THOSE Monkees…
Go to 36:36 – to see PDJT and FL Melania leave Marine One to board AF1
India news folks are so excited they are coming! What a refreshing change – positive press!
The people of India are so excited – this President is bigger than a rock or movie star to them!!!
Thanks Georgia, have been looking and unsucessful…
You always come through with the pics of POTUS and FLOTUS…
She looks comfy and yet elegant ! Not many can pull that off …
It’s early yet – but John Binder at Breitbart and several twitter and instagram feeds will have more photos….plus the names of the designers. Maybe Daily Mail will do a fabulous photo spread of the trip.
I checked John… last he has is Valentine’s ! You’re correct about it being early… (just excited to see! been a while, right?)
Even dressed casually for traveling, Melania shines!!
PDJT offers a few words to the press before boarding Marine One….
“Just spending one night in India, stopping in SC for a rally on the way home, then CPAC on Saturday…” – What a schedule – our Guy is a DYNAMO!
Good grief – I’m tired just reading about his week ahead! If we could bottle and sell that DJT energy, we’d fuel the world!!
India, then a Rally in SC Friday, then CPAC Saturday, then another Rally in NC on Monday. The. Man. Is. A. Machine.
Daughn’s informative and delightful thread is perfect for this video.Mad Liberal has made a slightly longer version of one that circulated last year. It’s my favorite meme video of POTUS.

I visited India when I was 7. Great times. 🙂

Religious and secular culture come together in the increasing use of namaste (pronounced \NAH-muh-stay) in English: the term is associated with both Hinduism and yoga. I was taught decades ago when I first started doing yoga postures that the word comes from Sanskrit and represents the idea that all are one. It affirms that beneath the outer trappings that make you appear different from others, you are made of the same stuff. You are more the same than you are different. [Sounds a bit like Q’s WWG1WGA, right?]
One of the most common translations of namasté is “The divine light in me bows to the divine light within you.”
From Indians themselves: “… it actually is the means of paying homage or showing respect to one another. This is the practice today when we greet each other, and has come to mean literally “I bow to you.”
Indian Gold rush?

If my math is right (I’m getting older) 3,000 tons of gold is about $156 Billion. And how many times will we blow through that amount in just one year’s budget?
The amount of money this country goes through in a year is just about incomprehensible.
President and First Lady are arriving in about 90 minutes.
Schedule is packed.
I have a thread coming out for their schedule and to cover tomorrow.
We might be up all night…..
Thank you so much for pulling all this together… you’re the best!
So excited to have them receive the treatment they deserve…………….. People of India are so excited to host them!
It’s WILDDDDDDDDDDDDD n the streets right now.
Check out the live feed.

I played “the walk in the stadium” several times and it looked to me that PTrump glanced down and took Modi’s hand . . . and didn’t let go . . . a very savvy move!
Yeah, I think you’re right about that one, Carl.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOk at the crowd outside Motera Stadium.
OMG.
Thanks, Daughn. Lovely video.
If only his own people (i.e. leftists) appreciated him as much as the Indians do.
Our VSG tweeted this out…I wonder what it says?
It says:
‘We look forward to coming to India. We are on the way, we will meet most in a few hours!’
OMG
Trump tweets in Hindi
Yep…I wonder what it says?!
According to Google translate:
We look forward to coming to India. We are on the way, we will meet everyone in a few hours!
Thanks, Syl!
😊🥰👍
You’re welcome, Wheatie!
I’m looking forward to seeing what FL Melania changed into, to wear upon their arrival.

I wonder, if at some stage of the visit, she’ll change into a truly magnificent sari.
I dunno…I kind of doubt it.
But she may wear an outfit that resembles the traditional sari…with elements of it incorporated into her dress.
She has done this before…like when they were in China.
I agree . . . and disagreed with my “magnificent” descriptor. I’d bet if she wears a sari, or close to it, it will be perfectly tasteful and appropriate for the occasion. I don’t think she’d ever go to someone else’s country and risk upstaging her host by wearing something magnificent.
I’d like to see those shoes up close. I like the pants a lot.
Night night all, God bless y’all and our POTUS and all of his peeps.
If blood work is good, another 4 hour chemo tomorrow. Daughter Dearest drove in today. She zapped my hair down to 1/4 inch. Now it’s hatsville for me.
Lovesya all.
May your discomfort be negligible!
Thank you Bako.
Good night sweet Jane… ya got ‘tude Sweet Lady… I love it. I bet you’re stylin’ and profilin’ with the hats !
(((Jane))) God bless you darlin’
Lol, Daughter Dearest is encouraging it. She chose my leopard print polar fleece for me for warmth for me today, and a sparkly black snood to wear during chemo inside the center. I never had to wear blush before, but now am pale, so she is going to get me some blush. Hope I don’t start liking the old hooker look. Hee, hee, hee!
Your daughter sounds lovely! As do her choices. Will be thinking of you today, praying for you. (((Jane)))
Thank you. I will in turn be praying for all here, for those who have no one to pray for them, and for conversions to the True God.
God bless you Plain Jane. Prayers for you continue.
Thank you Sylvia.
