I’m actually somewhat sympathetic. It has to be weird to have front-end development, and I know it was strange for me, as well, to be changing the places and types of hair I had. But it has to be really difficult when boys start getting all stupid around you — and there are serious levels of stupid. Peeling out in parking lots; not being able to discuss everyday life without getting tongue-tied; getting Biden-like levels of pawing, sniffing, and groping from kids you grew-up-with thinking they were “safe”…..it has to be extremely weird.

I just did a library run and got mythology, monsters, sharks, insects, and dinosaurs in my stack. (2) but, as with most wordplay, you can also flip it on its head and say, what words are there for characteristics of animals that do not come from Latin in the usual way? My favorite is vespertilian, because it reminds me of my eyesight.

The literal translation from Spanish is “Avenue of the Fleas”.

I don’t see why customers have to pay if the store switches to paper bags. you wanna buy a cloth/reusable one, then yes, you have to pay for that…but the store used to buy the plastic bags which they gave you for free. so now they switch BACK to paper bags–which they have to buy and now I HAVE to pay for them? what a rip off…AND in another article about this, there were comments about the effects of allowing consumers to bring their own bags–insinuating that all sorts of bugs and pests will be brought in those bags from home…

We also get double bag paper bags free on request from our Publix grocery store!
I reuse the paper bags for insulated bags to take frozen foods to my daughter.
AND I also have over a dozen non-woven reusable Publix bags for groceries. I love them because they don’t roll around in the car as much as plastic bags….although I keep a bunch of laundry baskets in the back of my mini-van for that reason.
that’s the thing…Walmart has a big recycling bin just inside the entrance to recycle the plastic bags! so their claim that they’re single use is bizarre…
I re-use plastic store bags a lot – line trash cans, pull weeds, pick up trash along neighborhood sidewalks, etc.

Publix recycles them.
We have a few Publix bags and they are bigger than the ones one of our local chains sell, so they are the “mother” if you will when going to the store. I prefer the reusable ones, actually. They stand up in the car. We use them for all sorts of stuff, too. In the summer, I actually have a cooler I put in the car as well as insulated bags.
And, yes, we take the plastic ones to the grocery stores, Walmart, and one other place for recycling.

I wish I had an answer to that question, but my guess would be the empty promises they are falling for. That’s part of not following faith, and living for the self. There could also be hormonal disruptions given all the soy in the diets. Hormone swings at that age are no fun. After a while, you realize that it will pass, but while going through it, it seems like the world is going to end.
Agree – and – the Public Fool System has failed them – with their liberal agenda – the Education System in America needs and overhaul and reform – hoping and praying this indoctrination stops!!!
We’re private school people. I don’t know that it really makes all that much of a difference when it comes to this other than we see our parents making a lot of sacrifices to be able to afford the school situation.
I really do think it’s lack of being taught self-deprivation.
Private Schools do not teach gender identity – Islam – and Public Schools do not reach Real History – Civics – Government – Constitution – and many other subjects – such as Evolution and Fake Science – you were blessed because your leaders did not have to deal with this – or even Common Core -why is there a shortage of STEM students – I could go on and on – the difference between ‘learning’ and ‘indoctrination’ – it’s a big deal!

No, that is not what I’m saying. I am saying that there is no authority in the constitution or in statutory law that holds that a challenge to a person’s right to hold office (quo warranto) can be made AFTER a person is sworn in. That’s what the idiots in the House tried to do with impeachment – it was an effort to RECALL the president. Since there is no authority in the constitution to use impeachment for that purpose, it was a false impeachment and should never have been submitted to the Senate for trial. McConnell should never have put it on the calendar and instead should have told the House to go to court if they didn’t like it.
As far as my opinion in my previous comment, what is critical is the authority of the president to appoint a person to preform the duties pending the formal approval procedure via the Senate. He has the authority to ‘take care’ and ‘execute’ the functions of the fed govt within the Executive Branch.
A short way to say it – the procedure does not provide authority to perform. The authority already exists and the procedure is there to make a record of the steps taken.
Side note: the president cannot violate procedure since the procedure flows from him, not to him. Arguably, the president cannot violate a law unless impeached and removed first. Then he can be charged with violating a law.

Yes. And I had to go to walmart today. Our regular dm cough syrup plus more was gone. I used the last of it. A lot of the shelves were empty. All the saniwipes were gone and almost the bleach. Ive explained how the clorix wipes are worthless for sanitizing. You have to leave the soaking wet wipe to dry on the area to sanitize. At least my spray lysol was there. People are really panicky unreasonably so.
Yes, it seems they breathlessly report on every single new death. They are trying to tank the economy before the election as many of us predicted they would. While the virus is real, the panic seems to be manufactured and purposeful.

Hey guys thanks for the nice thoughts. Let’s just say I won’t be able to do this anytime soon 😆,
My husband used to work in the oil & gas industry in Northern Michigan & would sometimes install those pit liners etc. Don’t know if they ever had quite such an adventure as the video you posted. He did get a ride out of a large pit in the bucket of a monster machine after attempting to patch a hole in the liner that caught the liner on fire & the pit filled with toxic smoke. I think they were trying to get the “glue” to flow in sub-zero temps using some type of heat source.
He’s had many crazy stories from that era (wish he’d write a book with them)…I bet you could entertain the Q-Tree for hours around the campfire if you chose to share details on some of your adventures in the industry too! Blessings!

You’re reminding me that all 3 of my sons have or have had metal in their bodies:
Josiah: special needs son, has “sternal wires”, like twist ties in his breast bone, after 2 open heart surgeries (age 2 months & 4 1/2 years)
Brandon: J’s twin, several plates &/or pins in his collar bone he broke snowboarding last year
Nathaniel: our oldest who had a brutal displaced (bones out of alignment) forearm break. He got an ambulance ride from one ER to another to get someone to torque on his arm to try to get the bones properly aligned, which was only partially successful (he had to be under Ketamine during this brutal procedure so he neither felt nor remembered it–think the movie Armageddon)…
He needed surgery but had to wait a week or 2 for swelling to go down. The 1st surgery the Dr. decided to just plate one bone. Later a classmate grabbed a book out of his hand & caused the other bone to get out of alignment so he had another surgery to plate that bone too.
A year later with a follow-up appointment after surgery the Dr. decided that the plates were too close to his tendons so needed to be surgically removed to avoid potential injury. This left forearm scars that made people that didn’t know him think he was a “cutter”–yikes!
He said of the whole process that he felt like he’d broken his arm 3 different times!!! Apparently I didn’t press him on his PT sufficiently so he now cannot turn that wrist over so wears his watch facing in so he can see it…& he’s just in his mid 20’s.
I’m guessing with your own version of “terminator” implants you’ve got some interesting stories to tell too!
Ow, tough kids! Yeah, having T-800 parts installed sounds cool but a couple of the stories are more embarrassing than interesting. Two of them involve ice now that I think about it. The plates in my other (lower) leg from hitting a wall while ice skating. Tried to get around for a few days before I figured out I should have it looked at 🙄. The rest of them were a result of a horrible traffic accident, lucky to survive that one. By lucky I mean lucky to have some ppl praying.

Prayer is a huge key. When Josiah was having his transplant we had prayers from across the nation & to a much lesser extent from around the world…but often these “adventures” are very solitary sorrows…

Wonderful! I’ve never had surgery myself but between my 3 sons I’ve been there for like 25 surgeries over the last 2+ decades. With my special needs son who had open-heart surgery before he ever even came home from the hospital, surgeries, therapies, & specialists became a way of life. We pretty much usually took things in stride with medical upheaval for him.
In some ways it was even harder to have our “regular/normal” kids need surgical intervention. It was generally so out of step with their lives & most surgeries were because of injuries suffered doing things versus various medical needs that just arose in our special needs son. It ended up being rather scary for the other guys to need surgery…
It was Way Easier to be with my regular guys in-patient, almost “fun”, in comparison to tending to their brother’s needs in-patient &/or post-op. Their brother is on the autism spectrum w/ severe ADHD so it was a constant stream of attending to his needs & quite exhausting on most fronts, though relatively familiar (unfortunately)…
I remember the look on some parents’ faces who were only at the hospital because of accidental injury vs long-term, congenital medical issues. Many times those parents were fearful & overwhelmed whereas I was often more in some type of “comfort zone” of the familiar chaos of special needs…

I had a chat yesterday with a friend whose husband is big in the state Republican Party. I wanted to know what they thought of down ticket candidates, and this is part of the reason why. It’s not president I’m worried about, or senator since neither seat is up this year. Our congress critter…it’s a family seat, and will be until the district lines are redrawn again. It’s the people like Secretary of State which is currently held by an Ashcroft. And governor, etc. If someone with name recognition runs for any of those positions, it could be a problem.

So — about the unfortunate souls who died of the Wuhan/SARS2 Coronavirus in the nursing home in Washington State:
RIP to them. They did not deserve to die of this infection. Begs several questions:
Who was in contact with them from the staff — any contact tracing going on?
What family members were in contact with them — any contact tracing there?
What cleaning / sanitation protocols are used in the facility — hard questions being asked?
What did the medical staff notice and when — daily charts being requested for investigation?
My late husband was discharged to a skilled nursing facility / nursing home on two separate occasions. He was over 95 years old each time. And each time, I insisted to the hospital case manager that the facility had to be a “top-level” one. I also made it my business to become his “roommate” at each facility, so I could watch over his care. In order to do this, I had to raid our savings to pay for the other half of his room for each of these facilities. He was in each one for a 30-day time period. So each private stay cost about $9,000 for the month I had the other side of his room. Neither facility took Medicaid recipients.
Here’s a sampling of what I quickly learned I had to do at each facility:
Hound the CNA’s to clean his bedside toilet and clean him as soon as possible after he soiled himself in his bed.
Woke up several times during the overnights to make sure the LPN in charge gave him his meds per schedule.
Cut his food up for him as the food staff would ‘dump off” his meals and the CNA’s weren’t around. I also helped him to eat.
Hound the housekeeping staff daily about the urine on the carpeting in the hall and common areas from patients who had “accidents”.
Wound up buying extras of disposable incontinent pants / towels (I ran home, washed and dried them, ran back).
Hound anybody who entered his room about clean hands.
Then there was the night I saved his life — literally — when the overnight LPN gave him a drug and didn’t have him drop his head to swallow: he began to choke: I jumped on him to pound his back then perform the Heimlich Maneuver. The LPN just stood and watched (she was fired).
Moral of the story:
These things happened in “high-level”, expensive facilities.
I cannot imagine what goes on in a “cheaper” facility, or one that takes Medicaid recipients.
If you have loved ones in a skilled nursing facility / nursing home — you cannot assume ANYTHING.

I know this is a story of a tough time for you, of sadness, of stress, of intense stress, seeing your much loved husband going through these last days of his life.
However, as I read it, I am seeing a beautiful love story, a wonderful, devoted wife, faithful and giving heartfelt love and care. Just a lovely picture of devotion…in sickness you did not leave him but loved him through those days.

You’re reminding me a bit of the opposite end of the spectrum when my then 17 year old son was post liver transplant & recouping in the hospital. I stayed in his room bedside & every 3rd night went to a medicaid covered hotel to get a few hours of sleep after interfacing with medical staff at morning rounds. I was supposed to have a family member “spell me” on those day shifts but unfortunately that never materialized.
When he was still in the surgical ICU following transplant they tried to call me at the hotel but some weird “privacy” rules prevented them being able to reach me. He went through a horrible trauma being catheterized because of birth defects & complexities uro-genetically & behaviorally/emotionally. They had to bring in urology specialists to assist, but since they weren’t familiar with his autism/behavioral needs he had major emotional upheaval even though they finally resolved the physical issues…
Another time I went to get my 1 in 3 nights worth of “sleep” (usually just a few hours, shower, & then back to bedside management). I returned to find him in a blood sugar slump, he has unofficial “hypoglycemia” (exact same symptoms as his dad who is officially hypoglycemic). Before I’d leave him to sleep each time I’d remind him of the nurse call button & encourage him to call for assistance at any time.
Well someone had dropped a tray into his room, didn’t set him up to eat it, & he didn’t have the wherewithal to call for help nor to set himself up to eat. I was so upset since this was a pediatric ward & we had made the staff very aware of his needs. I also would “check out” with staffing when I needed to get sleep so that they would be reminded to give him a bit more assistance.
If at all possible it is so important to stay with your loved one as much as possible & have someone “cover” for you when you can’t be there. Without constant vigilance things can go downhill so quickly & sometimes it could devolve into a life or death scenario like you & your precious husband experienced.

No no no. Petty theft in CA was reclassified under prop 47 to essentially make repeat offenses misdemeanors. Petty theft is anything under $950. Since the law was changed no one is being prosecuted. The law was changed in 2014, which is another big draw for drug addicts to come here.
Everything is behind glass in walmart. Theres so much theft they took all the beauty products and made a store in the store with its own cashier. You have to buy it there then shop the rest ofvthe store. Another walmart is putting in a turnstile system that lets you into the store but not back out unless you pass a cashier.

Yea, I like Lou. But that interview was hostile for no good reason.
Not only a hostile interview but Lou’s insistence on using “pandemic” came across as panicky, which is counterproductive to the efforts of the administration to get useful information to the public.
