Interesting, I searched “running silent” for some ideas for today’s thread since Q has been quiet, and I got references to two movies. One is “Run Silent, Run Deep” from 1958 with Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster that is about submarines, and the other is a 1972 movie titled “Silent Running” with Bruce Dern which is all about earth’s fauna having been destroyed, and the greenhouse is in space and Bruce Dern has been sent back to earth to destroy the rest of it….
Seriously, how long has Hollywood been tipped off about all this stuff.
And, now we’re being told to “trust the science” which, as we all recall is blinding.
The title of the album is “The Golden Age of Wireless.” WHOA!
All this predicting the future decades ago is freaking me out.

IIRC, “Run Silent, Run Deep” is the movie that killed the undershirt. There’s a scene where Clark Gable strips off his sailor’s jersey and isn’t wearing one, and usage has fallen steadily since it came out.
“Silent Running” is a 1972 film about a group of “ark” space ships that were set up to preserve various ecologies inside domes mounted to them. There’s a desert dome, and a temperate forest dome, and a tropical forest dome, etc. This was, of course, before Biosphere 2 [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere_2 ] — 1991 — a big $$$ demonstration project to show that large scale (the largest to date) sealed environments could be practical. Hint: they don’t work yet.
Anyway, bad corporations/bad goverments/bad capitalists decide to zero-budget the process and reclaim the space ships — jettisoning the bio-domes and detonating them. Our Hero agonizes over this and eventually jettisons the bio-domes without blowing them up and rigging them to be self-reliant. Of course, we don’t see a ship docking with one of those domes 1200 years later and finding it full of face-huggers and black goo……
There was also a spoof made, “Bio-Dome” (1996), a Pauly Shore vehicle that actually managed to lose money.
And, then, there is the Montreal Biodome (opened 1992), where visitors can walk through replicas of four ecosystems found in the Americas. Being that visitors are expected to walk through and leave, there is no attempt made to seal them.

It kind of reminds me of my project of going through and culling files and files of recipes accumulated over 45 years of marriage. I suspect that the next move will just see all those files dumped.

The other day I used a broccoli quiche recipe cut from a newspaper that was yellow with age and old style of type…comments about it written in the margins. Looked at the date on the clipping…September, 1989. I still get a kick out of those things! Or handwritten recipes on the backs of old greeting cards from my grandmother (waste not!), on a stained recipe card from my mother….just too dear to scan and toss at this point. Kind of like your grandfather’s tools.
Many of them have the date I made, for whom, a rating and suggestions for improvement…I’ve added personal notes on recipes most of my life. ..a little bit of myself written on them. I’ll tell DH, you really liked this in August, 1992, let’s see if you still do!
Ah, Teagan, your stories of old recipes led me to share this story. I’m not a cook, have few favorite recipes so never needed much in the way of cooking equipment. But one of the old, yellowed recipe cards I pull out every year when the fresh zucchini comes in is a zucchini bread recipe. I adapted it when my kids were small into small bread loaves, and mostly muffins. Now today, grandchild comes to see me to get, “Nana’s muffins.”
Anyway, halfway through my grating of 1st batch of zucchini, my Oscar food processor died – after 35 yrs of faithful use. It’s a small processor, did the zucchini and pecans faithfully all these years. First came out in 1982, and I saw it advertised on TV in 1985 – told hubby that would suit fine. Of course, no longer made. Went on ebay immediately, and bought a rarely used one. They’re hot selling on ebay. They don’t make good stuff like that anymore. BTW, it originally was made in France, then Hong Kong.
When I’m gone my kids will remember me for zucchini muffins, my canned homemade strawberry jam, cottage cheese pancakes, and crockpot stew. That’s about it. 🤣

It probably had more to do with the undershirt/tank top being called a “wife beater shirt”, which came later.
Some attribute it to “A Streetcar Named Desire”…but there have been several films where an abusive husband in an undershirt was featured.

Okay, a funny story on myself about tee shirts….and Italians.
Ours was a East Coast/West Coast marriage 45 years ago …LOTS of cultural differences that took a period of “adjustment.”
One of those being wearing tee shirts. First generation American Italian thought it perfectly okay to wear tee shirt around the house…West coaster was brought up to think tee shirts are underwear and only low life’s would wear them in Public. MUCH discussion about it…and two stubborn parties establishing relationship boundaries.
Moved to a new townhouse in a very small development with all new neighbors. Italian spouse and older bachelor cousin were doing several projects…additional shelving in garage, etc. so had set up a work area in the open garage with lots of people around….wearing the accursed tee shirt!
Not wanting to give the impression of being “low life’s” to new neighbors, a polite request was made to put on a different shirt. Typical Italian spouse pretended not to hear perfectly reasonable, polite request and continued sawing and hammering.
Non-Italian, Miss Proper Wife then made cold drinks to take out on a tray, but she took off her top and served them wearing her bra. Older bachelor cousin didn’t know where to look…Italian husband burst out laughing and said…”Okay, I get the message!” And tee shirts never worn in public again.

Liberty University on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against The New York Times, one of its reporters, and a local Virginia photographer over claims that the parties defamed the conservative Christian institution in a report earlier this year and also committed trespass while covering the story.
The civil suit, filed in a Circuit Court in Lynchburg, asks for $10.35 million in damages over the allegations, which stem from a late-March article published in The Times shortly after the university partially reopened during the coronavirus pandemic.
Liberty argues that the newspaper “intentionally misrepresented” the situation at school by suggested its reopening led to a wave of coronavirus infections on the campus.

But what was most distinctive is that these aliens considered their MOUTHS unclean like their BUTTS, and they were totally disgusted and insulted that the members of the ship ATE in front of them. And being simple, will likely prove to be effective. What he is asking is that we download the materials he is going to give to us, and then we disseminate them to everyone we know. MOREOVER, we write, call, and visit our representatives at the local, state, and federal levels and BURY THEM with these documents PROVING THE COUP EFFORT AGAINST POTUS. Sundance has done the hard part…
He pulled the briefs together with associated documentation (ie. proofs) and has tested them for effectiveness. All we have to do take them and spread them out as far and wide as possible.
It should also go without saying that, obviously, you will get to read the materials yourself before passing them on and dropping them in people’s laps, so you can “vet” them before doing so. It should also go without saying that Sundance will have been very careful in both narrative and documentation of proof because ANY illegitimacy within same would undermine the effectiveness of the strategy. 🤨
What Sundance wants…..indictments against black hats BEFORE the election.
What Sundance fears…..AG Barr and John Durham will wait until after the election. Worse yet, POTUS loses the election, and it all gets swept under the rug.
I personally agree with Sundance’s logic.
If Barr and Durham intend to bring indictments prior to November, then joining Sundance in these efforts can only help them raise awareness within the public sphere and an increased understanding by our political overlords that we know far more than they want or might suspect we do.
On the other hand, if Barr and Durham intend to wait until after the election to bring any indictments, then our actions in support of Sundance’s plan may cause our political leadership to force their (Barr & Durham’s) hands in taking action prior to the election.
If we do nothing, and Barr/Durham do nothing, and POTUS loses the election…..our cause is lost.
If we take action, and Barr/Durham take action (irrespective of whether we forced the issue or not), and this helps POTUS wins re-election…our cause is magnified and greatly strengthened.

Good questions. Exposing the rot is important, yes, but REPLACING it with good wood is more important. Who is choosing the replacements does need to be considered before going all in on a nuclear plan like that.

There is a weird little secret that can unlock many doors in your life. I’m going to tell it to you, but I don’t expect you to believe me — I expect you to go out and try it. And, when you do, I expect that you’ll want to do it again.
The secret is, “the more you know, the more you see.” The easiest example is when driving down a highway, you pass some trees. That’s all you see.
But if you know about different kinds of trees, you might pass a stand of trees and recognize that “those are eucalyptus” — and go by another stand of trees and recognize “those are willows”. Because you know about some types of trees, you saw something different from the person who saw “some trees”.
If you know more about eucalyptus, you’d know that they are not native to California and were brought here from Australia — some smaller varieties for decoration, but larger ones for windbreaks. You might wonder which side of the eucalyptus was the side where the wind blew, and what was supposed to be sheltered. If you know more about willows, you’d know that they generally grow with their toes in water, and are almost always found along lakeshores or creeks. You might wonder where the water is, or where it goes or comes from.
You and a friend could drive down the same freeway and see the same trees, and see entirely different things — because one of you is more knowledgeable than the other and can see in greater detail. The more you know, the more you see.
When I was in my early teens, my dad built houses to earn the money that sent my sister and I to college. He made me help — which I thoroughly hated at the time….I wanted to sleep in on weekends!!!! But, besides the college it financed, it taught me a zillion things that have been more useful — because now I can see things. I can look at the roof of a house and know where the bathrooms are; If I’m inside a house, I can see which walls are likely to be walls that hold up the roof and which are merely decorative; I can tell where to look for a place to hang a heavy mirror. I know more, so I can see more.
Beyond that, I got to interact with some of the tradesmen in construction. Funny thing — if you walk up to one and ask, “that what you’re doing there…..it looks a little weird. Why is that the right way to do it?” — about 98 times out of a hundred they’ll stop and tell you. Even more startling, they’ll answer follow-on questions and will be pleased that you asked. If you thank them and offer to bring them a cold bottle of water while they’re working, they’ll always be happy to see you. And you’ll have more knowledge…..when you see that thing again, you’ll know if it’s right or wrong and know why. You’ll even know it’s that way when it’s buried in a wall.
And, by the way, I stopped in a random company a couple of weeks ago and asked, “just what is it you do?” And I’m fifty years older than you are. Test the above, as many times as you want, learning more will light up your world.
Now, how would I recommend that you know more to see more?
School is important, but ultimately not as important as they’d like to be. If you look at my examples above, you cannot go wrong if you observe and ask people who do things. Never be afraid to ask a “dumb” question — it can be the difference between being blind and fully sighted. Never ever, ever, ever, ever think you’ll get better information from an architect than from a bricklayer — one will know about pretty pictures and the other will know about bricks. The guy who built the freeway won’t know about the trees it passes.
Reading books is great — and libraries are great tools because they can pull-in books you could otherwise never find locally. At one point when I was a few years older than you, I studied castles in some detail, pulling in books from across the country.
Never accept it when people say, “you’re too young to learn.” If you’re learning, you start by not knowing and end by knowing. If you don’t know whatever it is, you’re ready to learn.
And, finally, have fun! Be inquisitive, be curious, be open to the wonder of the world!

There are undoubtedly numerous professionals that are bored out of their minds in your area. See how many might do a weird gig with a 7-year-old, walking through the knowledge of their profession, for a few bucks. Meet a marine biologist at a beach for an hour of talking about what he sees; or a native botanist doing a hike and talking about his perspective on the vegetation; or a machinist demonstrating CNC programming, material acquisition, mounting on pallets, with various operations. Heck, you could have a projectionist show him about how to run multi-reel films (though this is likely over after the current emergency).
He doesn’t have to learn anything to the proficiency where he could do it for a living — he need only learn it to where he can see how things work and what competent work looks like.
Thats exactly what I plan on seeking out. M6bneighbors kid just got a geology degree. Talk about fun.

After the hackers posted screenshots of Twitter’s internal dashboard today showing they shadow ban accounts from the Search and Trending section, CEO Jack Dorsey retweeted another executive from the “Communications” department who admitted they *do* exactly what we’ve suspected them of doing. They shadow ban people from the search and the trending tab.
They say they do it if a user “creates a bad search experience” meaning posts facts that hurt liberals feelings, or expose Left wing extremism, or anti-white racism, basically.

Remember that the MSM and Dem’s interests in pushing tests and reporting “cases” are not really cases – but simply positive tests. We already know there are numerous causes for these positives. IMO, it won’t be long before POTUS has gathered the data which will expose the falsity of some of these reported numbers. To wit, Florida’s false reports of 98% positives, is now known to be 9.8%. A positive is not equal to a case – which means symptoms, illness and possible treatment.

But I can tell you our stats DO NOT support the garbage that’s gone down in this state, and across the country. When all is said and done it will be a shock when people realize that this was truly done for a political hit job – not just to get POTUS, but to bring about Leftist control of the country.
For example, these were Virginia’s stats on July 13th, 2020. Notice that 75% of our deaths were the 70 and 80 year old groups. Adding in the 60+ year old group, gives us 90%.
Over 60% of all Virginia’s deaths were in nursing homes/longterm care facilties. What no one is telling us is how many died with COVID as the only cause, vs being positive w/ COVID. Most of the people in nursing homes have serious comorbid diseases processes – many succumb to flu and pneumonia every year. They’re not publishing those stats…
Another point, the MSM reports capacities of hospitals as if it’s a bad thing, and the naive public is brainwashed into thinking a hospital with patients is a bad. Factually, hospitals have to be almost filled to stay in business. Otherwise they cut back staff. My local big hospital network – they own almost all access to doctors and hospitals in an area of 1/2 million people – are now trying to get people to come in for their elective procedures, or to do outpatient physical therapy, or tests. It’s been very slow to pick up. Most folks want nothing to do with health care right now. I feel that way. Only true necessities.
Here’s Virginia: Population, 8.63 million people. Total “COVID”deaths, 1,966. 50%~(988) were >80yrs. old. 25%~(494) were age>70. Adding in >60yrs. makes up 90% of the deaths. Only 10% (196) were <60 yrs. It's about perspective.

Just an observation about this passage:
If ‘our people’ are among the most vulnerable (a point which I do not dispute), then how could you not have any positive [tests/cases]? Doesn’t the lack of cases imply that the group is quite hardy? Or are you implying that your (and your co-workers) efforts to protect the group are so efficient that the group is effectively immune? And immune despite the non-hygienic reputation of said group and also the complete lack of control of the activities of said group?
A more likely explanation for the lack of cases is that there is a heretofore unidentified practice (among the group) that has a side effect of immunizing said population. Such as smoking (a very common practice among the homeless), which has already been shown to have a strong possibility of prophylactic effect with regard to this pandemic.

You actually confirm something that too many people are overlooking – well not the scientist who wrote the medium . com article a week or so ago. It’s clear that there is obviously some natural immunity already builtin to the population, and that’s why some may test positive but have no symptoms.
Our clinic isn’t testing unless symptomatic. We only had two people with URI symptoms and we got them tested – negative.
Let me frame this another way. I knew when people were not dropping like Ebola folks were that there was something off about this. My further confirmation was when the U.S.S. Comfort was sent to New York to assist, and that ship and the Javitz mobile hospital center sat empty.
I believe POTUS knows what’s going on – but early on, because he isn’t a medical person – had to be careful about his recommendations. We all saw first hand what they did on HCQ.
The reality is that the Left – who control what passes for the Democrat Party today – intentional, and criminally, IMO, want deaths and destabilization of our country. They want our children to deteriorate and fall behind the rest of the world in education.

I neglected to respond to your point about the clinic personnel’s efforts. We’ve been careful, and obviously the activities of the group cannot be controlled – no social distancing when not at our clinic or center. Our clinic is integrated w/ the community facility. From the outset we did social distancing, and masks. Let me tell you the homeless aren’t good w/ mask technique – though not too different than what I’ve seen in the general population.
But the fact that I live in an area of almost 1/2 million people, and our homeless did not get it – says a great deal about the “non-threat” this virus was – or at least not in the way it’s been dealt with after the initial onset.
Everywhere, all states, the stats clearly show the fatalities occurred within the long-term care facilities. These were already seriously compromised folks – medical diseases – vs just age, made them high risk.
The fact that the majority of deaths occurred in nursing homes – takes it out of the pandemic mode. But that’s the big lie they’ve pushed. Hillsdale College has an article out – haven’t read the whole thing, but the title is worth noting. “Four Months of Unprecedented Government Malfeasance” – by Heather Mac Donald.
I like that word malfeasance. I believe that’s what they did. Anthony Fauci is on the cover of In Style, sitting by a pool with sunglasses on…can’t get any more tone deaf than that.

Yes, they reported gi symptoms which created the run on toilet paper. I believe these were entirely two separate disease entities, unless one had some other condition which would be affected by a respiratory aliment. COVID has been primarily – in early stages – a respiratory/pulmonary issue. Not too dissimilar to pneumonia symptoms.
The progression for whatever I had started with a sudden GI emptying followed next day with severe nausea followed later with sinus running followed by month long poor appetite and then later came the intermittent air hunger and pretty constant reflux issues.

On one level she was an enormously successful performer, earning millions in a very short time. But if you read some of the books written about LA music in that period what comes across is what an emotionally sterile place it actually. I have no automatic reflex against it, like I do all the others, and I’m not sure why.
I suspect it is because the only time I have seen a face covering like that is in old Victorian-themed movies, which aren’t very high on my list.
What is different is that:
A) it doesn’t actually hide the face… in fact, it draws more attention to it
B) it has no islamic aggression associated with it
C) it has no State aggression associated with it
So I have no negative reaction to it, while my negative reaction to Nazi surgical masks and islamic face-hiders is a ’20’ on a scale of 1 to 10.

Two months ago I got scolded by a chicom grocery store manager for wearing something like this but the face/veil part was made of real silver mesh. Silver is a well studied anti microbial. It seems a lot of people are confusing hydroxychloroquine and chlorine dioxide, they are different animals completely. In the US, you can buy chlorine dioxide online & elsewhere, whereas HCQ requires a doctor’s prescription & is very hard to get.

About 12 years ago I was on a several days trip on the Norwegian ffords , got severe bronchitis and was able to get , without any problem, some incredibly strong narcotic cough medicine at a pharmacy. Might be different these days.
Yes dispensed, but all Over the Counter meds have to be dispensed by a Pharmacist. The prices of those compared to the US are really high.
I disagree with both statements.
In Germany there are three levels of access to medicines, the lowest, of course being no restrictions, as in Aspirin. Nonetheless, Aspirin and what Americans consider to be OTC medicines (Neosporin, etc.) and cold medicines (similar to Pertussin, NyQuil, etc.), allergy medicines (Allerest, etc.) can ONLY be sold at a Apotheke (Chemists), NOT in any kind of a store. You can buy them there without having any questioning by the Pharmacist, PROVIDED THAT what you are buying is not “Apothekenpflichtig” or “Verschreibungspflichtig”.
Apothekenpflichtig means that dispensing anything labelled as such is at the sole discretion of the Pharmacist (unless, of course, a doctor has prescribed it, in which case you will have a form filled-out by the doctor saying as such).
Verschreibungspflichtig means that the medicine MUST be prescribed by a Physician or Dentist, the appropriate paperwork made out (same form as for other medicines, but with additional fields, and a different color).
Violating these regulations is a crime.
I’ve been prescribed Codeine for tooth and even sinus (!) problems, but I didn’t use them. Usually aspirin does the trick, but it is FAR more expensive over here, even as a generic (think $12.00 for 100 tablets that would be $2.00 or so at WallyWorld).
Go to ALDI, LIDL, Metro, Globus, REAL, Kaufland, Edeka, Marktkauf, Müller, Roßmann (the latter two being like Walgreens without a pharmacy) and you will see NO OTC meds, let alone a real pharmacy section. NONE. Vitamins (in low doses only) and “natural” meds, again in low and regulated doses, may be sold in normals stores. Gail Combs has posted about the EU regulations on that.

I let these “maybe symbolic” things bother me for a while, and if they still bother me again later, I call them out – but it does take a certain amount of “everything is suspect” paranoia, followed by “talking back” to 99% of it, to weed out [most of] the noise.
Bear in mind that just as purple can be an assertive, antagonistic Hillary/Soros/Xi symbol, it can also be the “non-courageous, non-political” choice of others, scared of either blue or red. DeWine’s purple tie instantly tells me more of the latter than the former. “I just want everybody to like me!” “Cream puff purple” is the least galling shade of UniParty colors. 😉

Speaking of ties (can you tell I’m waiting for the appliance repairman to arrive? 😉) … the whole color symbolism thing is a little silly, IMO. Yes, there are associations…green for the Irish, orange for the Clemson Tigers, etc, etc. But, we all have our favorite colors…period… and choose them without regard to what the “message” might be.
What I have noticed recently is many more patterned ties worn by the frequent talk show hosts and guests…seemingly a deliberate move turning aside any hints of “symbolism.” A no-brainer, in my mind unless you are indeed wearing a message tie. The purple tie and and jacket the Clintons wore in the concession speech was a little too obvious!
Exactly! Ties are a perfect “deniable uncertainty communication mechanism”! The actual reasons are anybody’s guess – the only forensics possible are to either ask or use statistics, the latter of which can only prove faint likelihoods. I don’t own enough suits and ties to be color-meaningful – and my nicer clothes choices tend to be as an accessory for my wife, so I don’t really have much message-sending opportunity, even if I wanted to do it.

Well, I did live within an hour of Disney World as it was being built (yes, that long ago!)…and had the opportunity to tour the tunnels. It was actually pretty amazing and such a new concept at that time. Food delivery, trash collection, employees able to get to various venues (like our own Capitol building), emergency vehicles, The power grid, security headquarters, etc etc….all out of the public eye and without fighting crowds.
Of course, we saw what they wanted us to see…no question. And…I personally believe the “mission” of Disney greatly changed from those early years to the Dark Side (not to mention money-hungry management), if stories are to be believed.
well yeah…they could hardly sell tickets if they said what they really wanted to use those tunnels for–so they create the “good” explanation…

The PT person is concerned about some that are COPD, are on oxygen, and was hoping to get guidance for those patients clarified as the notification came in late last night. It’s NUTS.

One time, I got a muscle spasm from overwork washing down the porch while the weather turned cold. The cold air put the muscles into severe spasm. The normal OTC meds did nothing, so I went to a PT who examined me and sent in her PT tech – a young guy who looked exactly like that picture – to do the ultrasound, massage, heat machine on my shoulder. Oh man, was he eye candy – I tried hard not to look stupid or grin. It was even more embarrassing when he undid the back of my bra to apply the machine to my shoulder…. no one but my husband ever did that. I bet the PT was very aware of the impact her technician had on the old ladies.

We had some electrical work done and were off in Europe. One early morning my house sitter in her oldest PJ looked out the window and saw this hansom guy come to the door. She knew he was coming because I told her and and we also had it written down. She freaked out and she was single that did not help.
She however began to have a relationship with the guy who build our patio and and other landscaping work. He was not bad looking either.

That is part of the problem with the annual flu shot – it changes every year and yet gets essentially a pass from testing and from follow up.
He was referring to the shingles vaccine and pneumonia vaccine, specifically at the time because they were new and being heavily pushed . Eventually, he had read enough medical literature that he felt comfortable in recommending them.
However, he also advised against flu shots because it was very much of a hit or miss situation with the strain of flu (usually coming from China). To this day I’ve never had a flu shot.
I worked in a Psychiatric Hospital Pharmacy, and one year our Boss said if we were to be going on the Wards, we MUST have a flu shot.
One of the pharmacists lined us up one day, and we all got the shots.
At the time, I had one roommate, a Nurse, who worked for a GP, and he also said: This year, Flu Bad. So, she got one too.
ALL that Winter we both were mildly to moderately nauseated…Never missed work, but were nauseous for months and months.
No more for me.

Before Prohibition most beer was sold “on draft.” It was common for families to send someone, often a child, to a local saloon with a pitcher or pail to go get beer to go with the family’s dinner. Boys in urban areas could make a little extra money by waiting outside factory gates at lunch time. They would take the small buckets from the men on their lunch break, run to the saloon to have them filled, then run them back to the men to have to drink at lunch or at work. In 1894, The Nebraska State Journal reported that “rushing the growler” was a “national habit.” The Journal reported that a “growler” meant 10 cents worth of beer (approximately $2.44 in 2009 dollars). This was “twice as much beer for ten cents … as you can get for the same money standing in front of a bar.”
The Journal noted that it was common for children or women to “rush the growler” for their families. Women could use the “family entrance” which was at the side of many pre-Prohibition saloons. “Once inside the booth [at the family entrance]” the woman “lays her bucket and ten cents on the window ledge and gets her beer.”
As for children, “it is against the law to sell liquor to them, but the bartender knows it is for home use, and knows the children to whom he sells, hence is is seldom detected.” Children knew they had an opportunity to sample the beer themselves on the way home as well.
Finally, the reporter writes, “On the east side [of New York] and the far west side*, and in all the tenement and small flat districts, the ‘growler’ is rushed all night long, or until the saloon closes.” “Growler season,” he continued, “decreases more than two-thirds during the winter months, when the saloons are compelled to manufacture hot drinks to offset the loss of the ‘growler money.'”

I’m kinda new to new-speak, so I’m trying to figure this out.
I know about passing laws, and then those laws can be challenged if they are unconstitutional.
And I know about dictatorial ‘orders’, which have no force of law, because our system is not a dictatorship, we have different branches of government that do different things. For example, a legislative branch to vote/pass bills, and the governor (executive branch) either vetoes or signs them into law.
Where does “passed an order” fit in, exactly?
Is it between ‘banana’ and ‘republic’? 😂🤣😂
Wonder if they’re picky about how many people per house in “sanctuary” zones or areas with lots of illegals????? Or “halfway houses”, where people (or trafficking victims) are “just passing through”…

There are occupancy laws and I believe each state may have their own take on it. Congress passed a law that states that the rule of thumb is 2 + 1. Two people would occupy each bedroom. When it comes to rentals it is a whole new ball game. Especially children must be separated by male/female and limited to number in each room.
I believe that it is a little more involved that just how many people live in a house, such as utilities mostly because of sewage, at least so they say.
You can google your state and occupancy laws.

This is a four bedroom house, technically (we use one bedroom as a family room) and it is zoned for 12.
One summer, when it was REALLY hot, we had no central AC. We had one window unit in one bedroom. Mom was pregnant with my youngest brother, and we all, including the dog, slept in the same room.
Zoning laws are invasive and get violated on a regular basis. We know families with 7-9 kids, and there would be three to a bedroom.
Back in my pauper days, five of us shared one bedroom. In time we graduated to two bedrooms. Then, three, four and now five.
Have never heard of the sewage thing mentioned above.
Fortunately, I know nothing of occupancy laws. Zero chance many folks I know, can afford what is being described above.
After I wrote that response, I was thinking about the families in my parish growing up. One family, I know, had four girls in one room, another had five girls in a second story open room with the boys in the basement.
We do have occupancy rules around here, but hardly any of them are enforced. And sewage is a flat fee in this metro as far as I know. Storm water runoff is calculated by the foot print of the house, IIRC. Maybe adding in surrounding concrete.
Had not thought of sewage in that light.
Present and past three or four homes, sewage was based on water usage. Sewage being significantly higher than water portion of the bill.
Some places combine the two, I understand, but here they are separate utilities. And storm water DOES NOT go into the sewer system for treatment. It goes to the Mississippi River via a series of storm drains to conduits that are actually natural rivers and were co-opted by the Metropolitan Sewer District. It’s actually considered to be quite the civil engineering feat known as the River Des Peres, as two Jesuit priests explored it about 240 years ago, long before the city grew.
Fortunately I have not paid a storm water fee. I suppose the desert is like that 🙂
Yeah, well, here the systems lie side by side so we don’t have to treat storm water before it gets dumped back into the system.
Of course, that was done back before cars were the primary mode of transportation, like well over 100 years ago.
And, actually, the storm water fee is, on average less than $50, the sewer less than $100/mo. It a small price to pay for being civilized and keeping water born disease at bay, something this city saw A LOT of in the 19th century before the spring fed ponds were drained.
Yea. Storm water is a separate system, everywhere I have lived. I suppose storm drain fee in property taxes. Has never been part of any of my water bills. Makes sense I am paying for it somewhere.
In the desert I’m sure it’s different, but here where we get rain, squall lines, and the occasional hurricane remnants, they can be hell to maintain. Just keeping the grates clear of debris is a full time job after storms like the one last night.
How many kids to a bedroom applies to rental properties not owner occupied. I lived in MD, the girl next door was a single mom with 1 daughter and 3 sons of various ages in a 3 bedroom townhouse. She had to let one of the boys stay with his dad because he was not allowed to stay in the townhouse.
Family from Bangladesh had ~12 children in a three bedroom apartment, they were brought here by our government. The state would not allow them to stay in the apartment so the government (Fed) bought them a townhouse. It made it owner occupied so it was OK. Also a 3 bedroom townhouse.
Also, owner occupied single person living in 3 bedroom townhouse. Rented out (illegally) all the rooms to the house including closets – going rate for closet $100 month. All rented to illegals. We would get her closed down and it started all over again.
The sewage is more about how much sewage flows through the pipes and not about cost.
The single mom was renting the townhouse – not owner occupied. Actually an HOC house.
Occupancy laws for housing are for people living there. I guess Broward county decided they needed to monitor how many people can be in a dwelling at one point in time for which there is most likely no legal reason for.

I went to WalMart and Smith’s today. I didn’t wear a mask and everybody else, bar none, were wearing their covid masks.
Karen wasn’t in Smith’s, but Ken was.
I was waiting near the self check-out area, in the duly designated socially conscious six-feet-apart waiting area, when I saw some guy gesture and heard his voice. I looked at him, and he pointed at his mask and said (I assume) “mask” . . . because I wasn’t wearing one.
I responded, “It’s healthier without a mask, thank you”. Apparently, my response was quite upsetting to him as he displayed his middle digit rather prominently and stalked out of the store . . . without even paying for the groceries he left with. The attendant had to clear the self check-out machine, and we had a little chuckle about that idiot. Me not wearing a mask wasn’t an issue at all with her.

I have a Trump yard sign that I got from the local Trump campaign in 2016 – but in our neighborhood they are not allowed in our yards.
So I casually lean it in a big concrete mixing tray that I use for mixing potting soil mix….and it is somewhat visible when I work in the yard and the garage door is open. I was potting some daylily proliferations so I moved the sign out of the way and stuck it in a bale of pine straw. I was trimming my shrubbery a week or so ago, and a guy came by in his truck and stopped, turned around and came back by, then came by again and stopped in front of the house next door. He made a phone call leaning against the back of his truck. He looked upset, and I thought maybe he was supposed to meet my neighbor and she wasn’t home or something.
Today, I got a note from the HOA that political signs are not allowed. I wrote back and said I did not have a sign of any kind in my yard, but did occasionally put out a flag. I asked if the ‘I support our Health Care Workers and support for Police signs that have cropped up around our neighborhood were allowed.
I’m wondering if that guy was ‘Ken’ reporting my Trump sign to the HOA.
I also have a prominent magnetic Trump sign on my rear tailgate with a couple of US Flags. And my Women For Trump rally sign and Trump-Pence rally signs from 2016 are stapled to the rear wall of my garage. I don’t think they can prevent me from having Trump signs in my garage.

I found out tonight that 7 covid patience on ventilators are in our hospital. We had nothing all this time . No wonder we have now to wear masks when going to the store. We had nothing for so long or maybe not serious until now. We have many nursing homes and some are not the best since we have so many poor people. We are a small city that has shrunk and is still shrinking.
Columbus had covid problems and so had Cincinnati both cities are 2 hours from us.

We slowed the spread of WuFlu and gave healthcare systems, governments and people time to prepare. Now, we have opened up and the inevitable spread of the virus is taking place.
While I will not break hippa laws and we now have info and stats available for every state so everyone can look up what is happening in their own locations, I will share that hospitals are filling up.
Yes, the leftist’s narratives are politically motivated. Yes, #s are exagerated. But, yes, the spikes are real.
Good news is that while we slowed the spreak, healthcare had time to figure out what will work for as many as possible treatment wise. And so did we as individuals.
Hospitals are really filling up and the key stat to watch is not new cases but hospital admissions + hosptial space availability. The pressure is on the hospitals Big Time. And healthcare workers are getting sick so some less hospital availability due to staff shortages. All of these was expected and inevitable.
Just be prepared personally and take care of yourselves. Plus, be ready on social media, comment sections and in your circle of influence as the narrative as hospitals fill and the pandemic continues is natural course will be a place to fight for President Trump and all he has done to mitigate the virus with the proper balance of life-must-go-on.
We have been going in public (huge event just Tues pm) but are taking our supplements, eating our fermented foods, taking zinc, etc., in hopes of fending off the virus and mitigating the severity if we do contract the virus.
But it is not just negative spin that hospitals are filling up. Some cases are due to people being diagnosed with wuflu while in the hospital for other things but there are an increase in cases in the hospital Because of wuflu and ICUs feeling the pressure. Some hospitals again suspending elective surgeries and some turning regular wings into ICU units.
We have been expecting this and watching this build. Haven’t mentioned it here as a) not my focus as I have been working darn hard in our local GOP to the best of my ability and inexeprience & b) I know that many only want to hear the good news on the wuflu front. There is much good news but the increase in cases, although perhaps exagerated, is real and the hospitals in places like TX, FL, LA & even TN are filling. Just be aware for yourselves and to be warriors on real news and all POTUS has done re wuflu and that China is responsible for the lying, denying and not containing.
Many local medical officials, Houston, TX, was on location, have said that the hospitals are filling up with the people who put off elective surgery prior to the insanity. They now are either in an emergency situation, or are finally getting around to it.
My aunt was in such a position. Her hip replacement was postponed, and by the time they got her in to get it done, she was in a wheelchair.
Whatever locations truly have a capacity crunch in hospitals, there is an easy, effective solution.
– Field hospitals or convert convention centers. Sadly, in NV some of the casinos are going bankrupt.
– Governors only have to call President Trump or Vice President Pence. Or the state FEMA rep contact FEMA Head.
There is no reason to panic, NOT you Maga Mom, YSM and D-Rats. Nor shutdown again.

New cases are to be expected and increase in testing gives increase to finding mild to non symptomatic cases. Hospital stats are what I watch for an indication of much increase we are seeing as compared to early months (more testing or less testing – people in the ICU are there regardless of how much testing as they are there based on symptoms and need for care). Also, hospitals being overwhelmed and people dying because they could not be cared for was the big original fear/motivator.

Concerning the Mexican migrant workers. One could assume they caught it here and brought it to Mexico. Now they are returning back here for treatment. Seems fair to me. I think it’s fair to the president as well. Their first time flare up is rather big, but with all the President’s been dealing with, I’m willing to bet he sees this as a minor problem and helping to take some pressure off Mexico to help them deal with this is likely intended to be a courtesy.
Your also going to have to add in other South American countries into this mix when it comes to people with pass ports and money. They have also likely flown in for treatment. Most people coming in for treatment are usually in and out quickly, however your going to have some with cormobidities that need to stay longer, thus filling up bed space and in some cases die while in treatment.
Of those that die here, we get the stories of morgue space running out. Why would morgue space run out? Yep, data for State of TX reports 40% hispanic cases as the highest concentration of cases. Data for Harris County website says they have 13.5K Hispanic cases, which is almost double whites at 7.3K, but still the highest of all with the exception of….23.5K cases of UNKNOWN ethnicity. How can they not know that??? They’re hiding something.

You know they have the gall to have made up a teacher appreciation day(We APPRECIATE teachers 24/7, dont need to be told) and my kiddos school hit us up for gifts for them during the lockdown. No more money, esp when they make hostage demands as lausd union has done.
It won’t surprise me if they cancel school through 2024, suspend all business licenses and declare martial law to shoot anyone seen not wearing a mask.
They are trying to provoke an uprising.
I’m sure they’re shocked that it hasn’t happened already, despite their best efforts.
So they’ll just try harder.

There is reason for encouragement, more people seem to be taking notice (the insanity of it all gets their attention), and that nothing ‘adds up’ — which is the precursor to actually looking into it further.
And they won’t find any answers that lead back to blue-pill land 😂
In some ways it’s harder for those who are already awake and paying attention, because we’re having to wait for everyone else to wake up and realize what’s going on.
But I’d much rather be where we are, then still waking up and trying to get up to speed.
Though it is a fascinating journey of discovery (and still is), and it would be fun, like a great movie, to experience some of the ‘realizations’ again, for the first time.
If the timing is right, the awareness / awakeness will be peaking a week or two before election day, long enough for normies to compare notes and confirm with others that what they think is happening is really happening.

This is at a CDC level! They now define a positive case from anyone the infected comes in contact with. 1 case can mean 20, tested or not. I watched the entire video explaining the new definition. I confirmed it on CDC website! This is not a mistake, this is complete fraud!

Well, they found out in this great experiment, that the thing folk were most fearful of, was the asymptomatic carrier, or super spreader. The unknown person of unknown health, spreading the worse possible disease. So they press the button.

I told husband back in our grad school/dating days that I would go anywhere with him except FL (hurricanes, heat & flat – although I like to visit), CA (earthquakes), LA – esp. NO (knew the flooding dangers even back then) and big cities (because of all of the obvious crime issues). I choose to not accept the risks of CA, FL and other locations. But here in TN, we can have earthquakes and do carry earthquake insurance … unlikely but just in case. Risk management and what level of risk one choose to live with.
Same with Covid 19. We all must choose our level of risk and all must mitigate wisely against it

My son lives in Michigan and all is fine with him. He has a job he is essential so is his wife they get paid if they work or not. I only will hear him whine when he is not being paid or his wife is not like all the other people who are struggling. That is what happens when one moves progressive.

They’ve changed the symptoms to include anything except hangnails. They seem to have forgotten that it can’t survive in summer heat. I personally know many people who are afraid to even go to a doctor for fear that they’ll get caught up in the covid whirlpool.
How can the story that I related the other day that I absolutely know is true..80 young adults, all 80 of them test positive after going to a party but only a couple ever felt slightly sick..how the hell does an example like that make people afraid? The numbers…the numbers of positives..be afraid. Do what we say.
