Dear KAG: 20200722 Not Tired Of Winning Open Thread

As is so often the case with Pres. Trump, he could be luring the Dems into a trap. If “masks protect” and we can shop and work with them, then we can vote with them. He cannot tell people not to wear them and still be able to save this country by winning the election. The political fallout would betoo great. There are too many people who are not as aware as we are, who are looking to him for leadership. They would turn on him if he took away their security blanket, so to speak, before they were ready. And the Left would crucify him. No need to give them ammo. IMO, we need to trust him — not about masks, because he leaves that a little open, but about what he is doing. There is always more going on than we can see.

Personally don’t feel alienated by President Trump’s masks statements. None. President Trump is doing what he needs to do to stay above much of the fray.
– Staying in the Feds lane.
– States and cities execute, not the Feds.

Visited Walmart, Home Depot and a Smith’s Kroger’s today.
– Walmart. Loud mouth SS Fool at Walmart. Loudly to me. “Masks are mandatory. Do you have a mask?” Me. “I canNOT safely wear a mask.” Loudly asks, “Do you have a medical?” Me. firm and curt, “yes.” I kept walking. NOTHING they can do.
– Home Depot. Crickets.
– Smith’s. Young gal politely informs me, “masks are required. Do I have one?” Me. I reply “I canNOT safely wear a mask.” Young gal politely nods. I continue walking.
Can’t speak for other states, but here in NV, there is nothing they can do to ENFORCE masks, beyond bluster.
They can “trespass me” and tell me to leave. Must do so. But then they’ll never get my money.
IT IS ALL PR BS…Walmart, CVS, Home Depot, Kroger’s making masks mandatory. PR BS to keep the jackals at bay. Fact is these businesses want to make money, not piss off customers.
Conceptually, above, not much different than President Trump saying it is OK or good to wear a mask. BUT, President Trump will NOT mandate masks.

I think Trump wants people back at Work!! if folks wear masks, at east until challenged if they remove them…Go to Work. If folks are all in a dither ab the mask thingy, Wear a Mask…GO TO WORK…Go to school…when kids start dropping like flies in their mask-mandated classrooms, I think parents may have a thing or two to say. When Joe Doax passes out at his drill-press, it’ll make a stink.
(I already today saw a report of an accident…The driver passed out…had been wearing an N-95 mask all day, poor bastard.)
Trump knows, just like him, we will wear masks according to our personal assessment, or, as he says, when appropriate.
and, he takes the wind out of the sails of these fire-breathing vermin who are so warped and disturbed.
I don’t think his comments will have the lightest effect on most of his supporters. Don’t think his message was for us – at all.
Even here in commie WA, where masks are “mandated”, I went into 2 stores today with my nose uncovered, You know, so I could breathe. No one said a word.
The “rule” pertains to Public Buildings…not the out-of-doors.
Easier to be a spy, also…also allowed me to exchange my attitudes w/ another ab the stupidity of masks in general….the unmasked are thought to be those Trump fascists, Karen-prey.

I really think These Truths is onto something there—dems are desperately trying to get mail in voting–but if we can shop with masks, we can vote with them. as long as they insist on mail in voting, I expect POTUS to at least appear to accept the masks…if they can ramp up enough hype and hysteria with inflated numbers and false positive tests, they will insist voting in person is dangerous.
