I want to comment on the art style known as “Alegria.” Even if you aren’t familiar with the name, I’m sure you’ve seen it before. It’s America’s version of Communist art, and as such, it tends to show up in cabal propaganda. For example:
Note how nobody in this picture has a face. This is common in Alegria/Communist art. Just like how they’re obsessed with everyone covering their real life faces with masks, the cabal doesn’t even want faces depicted in their crappy art. I’m half-tempted to call it a weird manifestation of Sharia law (Sunni Muslims are forbidden from depicting all humans, not just Muhammad, in art), but no, I believe the real goal is dehumanization and demoralization. This art is intentionally ugly, low-quality, and meant to depict humans as deformed and faceless. There can’t be any beauty in the Great Reset because that might actually inspire people.

Another one is that almost all couples in media now are depicted interracial black and white. Usually a black man with white woman, but very occasionally, a white man with black woman. They claim this is for “diversity,” but genuine diversity would feature interracial couples of all races. When was the last time you saw an advertisement with a black man and an Asian woman? Or a Hispanic man with a Muslim woman? They not only go out of their way to avoid depicting couples of the same race, but they specifically prefer a black/white combination even though true “diversity” would demand more variety.
The latest being the film Fatman, in which Mrs. Claus is a British black woman. Lovely individual but I’m tired of having our history rewritten every decade into whichever ‘ism’ is in vogue.

We don’t have a microwave in this house. I am the only one who does not miss one, but it’s amazing how you can live without one.
It’s amazing what you can learn to live without. Our hunters discover that every time they hit hunting camp w/ outhouses, wood burning stove heating, & hand pump for water. They Never want to come home once they adjust to shack style conditions!
I did an opera program in Italy almost 20 years ago. We had a two burner propane hot plate and no hot water for cooking. You get used to it.
Came home…two ovens and a natural gas range…luxuries….
I came back from just 3 weeks in Liberia & was so used to seeing men relieve themselves on the side of the road that in the terminal at JFK in NYC I saw a man in a suit from behind, he was standing below a departure/arrival sign w/ his hands in front of him, & I was outraged that someone was taking a pee right there in the terminal–he wasn’t just my “norms” had already shifted!
Oh & going back into American grocery stores was a major culture shock. What passed for chicken in Liberia we probably wouldn’t have purchased to feed a dog, it was literally skin & bones!

yesterday I finally had a chance to chat with my hairdresser–her son was sent home from school last month complaining about a sore throat. (Every year that I have known her, this son gets strep throat at the beginning of flu season.)
She took him to the doc and of course the kid got a covid test–it was positive. The whole family quarantined for 2 weeks and the son never had any other symptoms–no fever, headache, cough, nothing –just the usual sore throat.
However because of the positive test result, she had to provide a list of his classmates, and anyone he might have had unmasked contact with. My hairdresser provided the list, then called each person on that list and explained that someone would be calling and why.
As of yesterday, not a singe person received a phone call from anyone other than my hairdresser…
My hairdresser was never a mask person…till now. she had to have 2 negative tests before she could reopen the shop and now she swears that her wearing a mask to tend to her sick son (who didn’t require meds–not even a tylenol for pain) kept her from getting covid.
Ironically, she and her youngest child DID get a stomach flu during this time (which befuddles her because they had absolutely no contact with anyone for 2 weeks).

According to News 12, public health officials will have the power to determine if state residents are developing sufficient immunity, and it not, they would mandate vaccinations….which is an extreme over reach and a violation of our personal freedoms.
The bill was proposed on December 4 by Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal. It’s being evaluated by the Committee on Health and may amend the public health law.
The bill states that once a coronavirus vaccine is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and the New York State Clinical Advisory Task Force for safety and effectiveness, the distribution would be required.
If public health officials decide, they can make these vaccinations mandatory unless someone has proof of a medical exemption.
A representative from the Informed Consent Action Network, a nonprofit that is critical of vaccines, says the idea of mandatory vaccinations would be troubling for many.
The bill still needs to pass the New York State Senate and Assembly before it is delivered to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office to sign or veto.
If states start trying to mandate vaccines, I think they will fight a massive pushback. People have a right to choose what they do and do not put into their bodies. ESPECIALLY when it comes to an RNA vaccine, which literally alters DNA.

Such a principle would punish those jurisdictions which deviate from a scrupulous standard of voting and counting the votes. It would recognize that election fraud is extremely difficult to prove and easy to accomplish without strict adherence to a process of voting and counting which itself is not subject to reasonable questions of fairness.
The perception of fairness is just as important as fairness itself. This is a Constitutional requirement already in some areas of law. And the beautiful part is that the question can be decided as a strict question of law.

The end around case has been put together by TX AG Ken Paxton suing GA, MI, WI, and PA at SCOTUS. Bringing this case across multiple jurisdictions gives it a straight lane to the SCOTUS.

Texas approached the Supreme Court directly because Article III provides that it is the court of first impression on subjects where it has original jurisdiction, such as disputes between two or more states, this is hard tactics
The Great State of Texas argues that these states violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions, but not through the state legislatures.
These non-legislative changes to the Defendant States’ election laws facilitated the casting and counting of ballots in violation of state law, which, in turn, violated the Electors Clause of Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution.
Additionally, Texas argues that there were differences in voting rules and procedures in different counties within the states, violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. Bush v. Gore 2000
Finally, Texas argues that there were “voting irregularities” in these states as a result of these changes.
Texas is asking the Supreme Court to order the states to allow their legislatures to appoint their electors. If this is successful it opens the door for the next step.
The genius behind this is they don’t have to prove fraud, there’s no doubt there are “election irregularities” all that has to be proven is that they changed election laws by executive order and not by legislation as required by the US Constitution. Article II, Section 1 Clause 2
All these Governors and Sec of States making these changes out in the open make the case pretty clear.

There is a reduction from average flu likely due to social distancing, shutdowns, etc. However, it is only reduced by ~1/4 (haven’t crunched the #s) from the previous year, same time frame. They track confirmed via lab tested flu cases.
Interesting that with all of the mitigations + personal choices made by many to be more cautious + personal choices to be more faithful with supplements and health in general (almost everyone I know and with whom I have spoken about this is taking Vit C, many are taking zinc and Vit D – some who I know are not overly health minded so this info has penetrated to those who are listening) we still have as much flu as we do.
Also of note is that there are still “normal” colds and viruses floating around. Even in areas with high levels of wuflu, the percentage of negatives is still the overwhelming majority of tests. Some are being tested who have no systems but have had a known exposure and many are being tested who have symptoms of illness that turn out to not be wuflu but turn out to be any other of many “normal” viruses and infections.d

One thing that is not clear from the tracking is positive/negative tests v. cases.
Example of what I mean: Many patients are tested multiple times. Is a negative of a previously positive patient included in the results? Are all positives, even if mulitple tests of positives, counted as a “case”/positive? If someone tests positive and the next day tests negative (ie a false positive) are they removed as a “case”? IDK …
This is the page I check most frequently (as well as my own county stats). Remember that originally one of the big concerns was the virus spreading so fast that the medical systems would become full/overrun and patients would die from lack of care v the virus itself. We have yet to have that problem in the US. (this was the original and needed reasons for the shutdowns and to flatten the curve which then morphed into the pie in the sky fantasy of somehow containing the virus – it was too far spread to contain)
What is most interesting to me is the availability of ventilators. It is has stayed steady and even increased despite the dramatic increase of hospitializations. This tells me either the supply has increased or better treatment methods have been found or both.

It’s funny. The pastor at the parish I attend is assumed to be gay. Just about everyone thinks that. But, he went rogue early on, and when we were all supposed to be watching online, he left the doors of the church building open and if people wandered in while he was saying Mass, he didn’t tell them to leave. We have had Adoration since the beginning, only skipping on national holidays. The petitions have been known to include prayers for “truth from the media.”
I’m not the greatest fan of this guy, but I give him all the credit in the world for that given the number of “woke” people and Karens in this part of the world.

I was walking out of Mass this morning with an old friend from HS, and because of a flu bug that’s been labeled “COVID” a number of parishes around us are closed until it passes. There’s still plenty of places to attend Mass, but that flu is MASSIVELY contagious and it really is better to close one parish temporarily rather than infect so many with it.
At any rate, my friend M and I were talking about it, and that at least we have the Sacraments. So many other dioceses and nations don’t. And there’s really no reason for it.

Actually I take that back, Iodine 131 is an isotope w/ eight day half life. Iodine 129 has a half-life of 15 million years. It is still an important marker nuclear activity.

I’m not sure that it makes your point, though, about it being the cause of the radioactivity detected in the waters around the Philipines.
I read the article.
It says that Japan has been stockpiling the radioactive wastewater from Fukushima since the earthquake/tsunami disaster in 2011.
The article also shows a graph of how the radiation levels in seafood from Japan’s waters has gradually gone down to near zero now.
I don’t know how accurate that graph is…but Japan has international monitors looking over their shoulder, so it may very well be the truth.
Japan has not been releasing any radioactive wastewater into the ocean.
They’ve been storing it.
But they are in talks now, in 2020, with the UN’s IAEA about what to do with it.
Fukushima is a far more reasonable and and logical explanation than “lurking Chinese nuclear subs”.
This is so because it is far more believable that the Japanese gov’t continues to dump contaminated water into the ocean as a causation of the radiation in the corals than “lurking Chinese subs”.
Just because an article claims the Japanese gov’t isn’t dumping that water doesn’t make it true, nor do the “presence of international monitors” (ie. the corrupt UN).
And then there is the fact that China’s sub fleet is predominately diesel powered, not nuclear powered. In fact, China has just 6 nuclear powered subs. Six.
So the question is…..what is more likely to have caused that radiation in the corals? A well known, well documented nuclear disaster that sits directly upon the coast of Japan, or 6 lurking Chinese nuclear submarines?
One doesn’t need a degree in mathematics to deduce the probabilities.
Bioaccumulation from Chinese waste dumped into the South China / West Philippine Sea would ALSO be a strong suspect on my list.
There are other problems with the Fukushima explanation, even if we are conservative and assume that there is leakage, or WAS leakage, etc.
The “West Philippines Sea” is actually the SOUTH CHINA SEA – the west side of it – as asserted by the Philippine government and people. The researchers are noting that the radiation is higher on that side of the islands than in other parts of Philippine waters. Since Fukushima is the most likely suspect (IMO), then there are expected patterns of radiation uptake that would be a complex function of currents, temperatures, species, and more – but some of it should be obvious, and there should be an “expected gradient” of radiation values if it IS in fact Fukushima, with at least some northern component, and maybe an eastern component, but let’s be conservative and assume sneaky currents at play.
These researchers would be aware of this, of course. Just off the bat, one would expect – if not HIGHER values in northern Philippine waters – then at least COMPARABLE values. But if the positive gradient is strongly toward the WEST, or even worse has little or no northern component, then Fukushima becomes a very poor explanation.
That said, politicized intelligence could be at play here, denying the true pattern, and finagling a politicized interpretation of scientific results, to play games between China and Japan. So I remain wary.

Pasta, rice, canned (no vit C) veggies and fruit, canned chicken or pork (little beef because it is expensive)… in other words filling but ZERO real nutrition. Hubby’s father went downhill very rapidly and died after entering a nursing home. Before that he was running his newspaper and living with his various sons and getting GOOD FOOD. It was amazing how fast he faded.
Yeah, I think these nursing home closures are allowing a lot of FAILURE to happen unnoticed, as the COMMIE STATE GOVERNMENTS take away money and send it to CHINA.

Having looked after one person in a nursing home, the bigger problem is: everyone is wheeled to the dining area, plates are delivered to the table.
The person I knew was blind and had no idea what was on the plate (she was 90). Most times she wouldn’t eat at all.
When I questioned the staff they told me if you are not paying to have the person hand fed, if they don’t eat it is not their problem. I went every day after that for the main meal to make sure this lady got at least one good meal per day.
A group text was just sent to the choir that an elderly former member is “in the hospital with COVID”. This woman is in her late 80s and has not been well for a while…and the bug that’s prominent here in STL that’s being called COVID is the same flu bug I had in March.
This is going to be blamed on a lack of a vaccine, but when the vaccine takers start getting sick….
I am not worried about her having the virus, 99%+ she’ll survive just fine. However, the timing SUCKS!! We need ALL our Warriors on the Battlefield NOW!!! In 1349, as the Black Death ravaged Europe, a new pandemic-control strategy was adopted in cities across the continent. The protocol was precisely regulated by the experts. Three times a day, for a total of exactly eight hours, hundreds of men known as Flagellants would march in single file through town, wearing caps with a red cross and carrying scourges of knotted ropes studded with nails. “Using these whips,” one witness reported, “they beat and whipped their bare skin until their bodies were bruised and swollen and blood rained down, spattering the walls nearby.”
This specific strategy is no longer in favor among public health officials, but the spirit of the Flagellants lives on. Instead of beatdowns, today’s regulators favor lockdowns, which are less bloody but inflict more social pain. For all the talk about following science, the authorities—and much of the citizenry—can’t resist the primal intuition that a pandemic can be quelled only through public penance. Consider two strategies for dealing with the Covid-19 virus: urge the public to spend time outside in the sun to build up their vitamin D, and to take supplements of the vitamin, repeatedly demonstrated to protect against viral infection; or shut down most businesses, deprive children of classroom education, and order everyone to stay home, a strategy never previously tested and yet to prove effective.
Which strategy would you try first? If you chose the vitamin D, you have no future in the public-health establishment. While a few researchers are touting the vitamin’s potential and advocating government programs to distribute the supplements during the pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control can’t bring itself even to suggest that people take the pills on their own. In its Covid-19 guidelines, the CDC declares that “there are insufficient data to recommend either for or against the use of vitamin D.”
Somehow, though, the “insufficient data” problem disappeared when it came to lockdowns and mask mandates. Before the pandemic, the official expert consensus was against those measures, but the consensus was promptly discarded in the hope that these sacrifices might help. The evidence since then could easily be called insufficient, given the lack of randomized studies and the inconvenient data showing that places with lockdowns didn’t fare any better than the places without strict measures. And given what has emerged about the minuscule rate of transmission in outdoor settings, you could certainly say there’s insufficient evidence to order people to stay inside their homes or to mandate masks outdoors.
But whatever these lockdowns and mandates do or don’t accomplish in stopping viral spread, they definitely enable officials and citizens to demonstrate that they’re taking bold actions against Covid—and the more painful the measures, the more virtuous and heroic they feel. Whenever evidence emerges that the lockdowns are ineffective, the proponents have a ready answer: not enough people are following the rules. Stop sinning! Do your penance!

I spoke to my doctor kid from Indiana he told me ” as a health professional he is very satisfied what schools are doing keeping kids safe.”
His kids teenagers have been in school and not one kid got covid in their school. Also he kids engage in sports like soccer and swim team.
The oldest of his kids goes to Purdue and they have had virtual learning but the kids were in dorms. My son told me “the biggest problem with teenagers and young adults in college is the parties that is where the covid spreads.”
I assume the kids hang out with girls and boys drink specially in college and older high school kids.

My understanding is springs may weaken from being compressed and compression removed, continuously. Guessing thousands of times. Not simply being compressed and kept that way, due to loaded magazines. Personally have never had a sprind weaken to the point of nor feed ammo on demand.
ALWAYS maintain my magazines fully loaded.

Even when kept fully compressed, a magazine spring will retain its energy long past the operational life of the ammunition.
I have been trying to get a definitive answer as to the recommended time limit that a magazine could or should be kept loaded. I have contacted Smith & Wesson and Magpul, whose magazines I have, as to get their take on the question and their recommended best practices. I got two entirely different replies, which makes me wonder if there is a standard for this or just someone’s opinion. I have also viewed several YouTube videos on the subject, which provided opinions but no clear answers. What is your opinion?

This is one of those subjects that is much discussed with lots of opinions, a little experience and very little hard evidence. I’ll touch on each of these and you can weigh each on its own merits.
I thought it fitting to contact some of my friends in the industry, both from an engineering and customer-service perspective. As I suspected, the answers I received were as varied as the number of people to whom I talked.

I called four different people in four different departments at one of the major manufacturers with whom I have a close relationship and received four different answers. They ranged from the magazine could remain loaded indefinitely and still function fine when and if the time came to use them, to a long, complicated regimen of exercising the spring by partially downloading the magazine periodically to different levels so the spring wouldn’t take a set to a specific position because of the number of rounds loaded in the magazine.
Although personal experience isn’t particularly comprehensive or all-encompassing, I’ll cite a few relevant to the question.
A colleague of mine bought an estate collection of firearms, which included a pristine (and loaded) 1911 that appeared unfired. The magazine was determined original to the gun and the ammunition had a 1917 military headstamp. All seven rounds in the magazine fired and the magazine worked flawlessly in another 1911. It is likely the magazine had been loaded for over a century before it was put to the test. I personally have fired magazines that have been loaded for more than three decades without issue.
Years ago, an article was published in one of the gun magazines by an aerospace engineer, whose name escapes me. He tested Glock, SIG and perhaps some other brands as well, for magazine-spring quality and longevity of compression. In the article, he went into detail as to the material aspects of the springs and how their ability to do work degraded minimally under compression and over time—with the end result being that with all the variables factored in—it would be hard to find a definitive answer. He did intimate that modern magazines of quality manufacture could be left loaded for the expected life of the ammunition that they contained.

That’s fine if your equipment is relatively new and you trust it. I guess my advice is then if you don’t know your equipment and or if its old, well used or picked up in the field which is common. It’s not uncommon to have mags that have fired over thousand rounds and that have seen extensive field use. Then you also have chance of foreign debri getting into your mags during prolonged field time. Common practice has always been to leave a couple rounds out so you can press down and check that your spring compression is still good and nothing is obstructing it. Mags can circulate around for years and see extensive firing and become ratty so unless you tear the plastic off the mag yourself my experience has been you don’t trust it unless you can test it. If your mag is second hand I’d also not trust it. If your stuff is new or unused and kept in some what pristine conditions as seems the case from your examples I guess you should be good to go minus field conditions. Personally I have no experience with store bought equipment. It has been just what Uncle Sam had for me over my 26 years as an infantry paratrooper. Much of the equipment has been good, some not so good and then there’s the abuse we give it.

If I had magazines from a surplus store or used government magazines, they’d rate “stink eye” and be stored with “last resort” stuff. Assuming I didn’t toss them due to suspect reliability.
Civilian world again, I can easily control my equipment. Where it been, how its been used, stored, maintained…
When it comes to my weapons and associated equipment, IF it is NOT 100% reliable, I don’t use it. I don’t keep it.
Absolutely reliable AR magazines can be had $12-$15. Many superb magazine manufactures out there. Absolutely reliable.
I have at least six, thirty round mags I assume are government issue, pristine condition. Have never used them. Maybe someday I’ll give them a go.

From what I have seen…. It is NOT the case….. Mags are Made to stay fully loaded for many years….

For sustainment purposes, suggest purchase a few more magazines. And keep them loaded. 🙂

Personally NOT smart in a strategic way, but loading Marines on Navy ships is about the dumbest place to put them if they are going to be needed, on demand, RIGHT NOW.

Funny, I’m having the opposite experience. Here I can’t see who has liked things & only sometimes get notified of “likes” on something I say. I get nothing when hovering over the number. Today, as I read about the Texas lawsuit, I dropped in to Twitter to see the reactions. I saw a Tweet that the rumor was other states were going to join the suit. Eureka! Something I could DO!
I immediately called my state Attorney General. This is the convo:
Me: “I need to speak to the Assistant Attorney General, or the Attorney General, or somebody with the power to do something!
Lady on the phone: “Is this about the election fraud?”
Me: “Yes!”
Lady: “And the Texas lawsuit?”
Me: YES!
Lady: “Well, it has been non-stop phone calls, so we are only taking a count right now, not messages. I can add you to the list.”
Me: “HALLELUJAH!!! Add me to the list! We need to get in on that lawsuit!”
Lady: “Yes, we do!”
Me: “Awesome!”
My next step was to call and email and text everyone I know, and ask them to call, too.

Yes – there are two kinds of comments coming off the bubble, and the ones that repeat are the second kind.
The first ones, which we saw earlier, with some orange in them, are actual NEW COMMENTS which can be replied to.

An interesting aside that’s not important, but if I like something under the bell, the thumbs up is separate from that like. I was noticing that before the id’s were added to the thumbs up and it’s still the same. I’m NOT advocating for them to be the same, just noting the difference.
Yes – the bell likes are an entirely separate system, and I personally cannot join them – at least not without hacking somebody else’s code.
The people at Gvectors could likely tap into JetPack likes in a read-only way, and merge them into their own system, but probably not a good idea long-term. So I think keeping them separate is fine. I tend to use both. I like stuff from the notifier, and I “like” stuff from the pages, too, and now they’re two systems.

Yes, it does! JetPack has a nice and robust notification system, but it’s kinda primitive in its commenting interface. wpDiscuz has more frills, but when it replaces the commenting interface on the page, it integrates comments and replies but NOT likes, because it offers more variety in comments.
IMO, if it were my code, I would love to explore the problem of integrating likes under all formats of “liking” that wpDiscuz offers – I think it’s doable, but challenging.
Yeah, the like is definitely inconsistent. Liking under the bell does NOT stick under the page. My ILikes through the Reader don’t always stick either. It’s schitzo.
That might explain why wpDiscuz didn’t try to implement integration of likes, if JetPack likes are already flaky.

I just noticed that we now have comment links. If you mouse over the top right hand corner of a comment, you’ll get 2 interlocking circles. If you click it, it puts the comment link on your clipboard.
I noticed that, but I have no idea where my clipboard is!! LOL!
The clipboard hides in your computer… it refers to the place where things that you cut or copy ends up, and lie ready to be pasted somewhere else.
So what happens here, is that the link to the comment is copied to the clipboard, and then you can paste it into some text-box elsewhere.
Maybe into a Gab-post, e-mail, offline note in text file, Twitter, Facebook (if those last ones still hasn’t kicked you out). Similar to what is done the other way here when people put in links to Gabs or Tweets or whatever.
I know how to work it, I just don’t know where it is on my computer, as I’ve rarely used it on my desktop. I use the clipboard on my tablet, but I mostly use the tablet for looking at stuff as I hate to type on it. I searched for it, but I’ll get my daughter to show me where it is.
So is the right click the same as picking clipboard on my tablet? Windows vs Android?

Someone’s idea of a prank.
Perhaps some kind of new-age religious thing, something to do in the run-up to the winter solstice.
Someone in Hollywood or Bollywood doing advance advertisements for a new movie?
Someone decided to try and attract aliens (and not ordinary legal or illegal varieties).
Perhaps the first one was the real thing, and the rest are are copycats.
Or some kind of geolocation markers for something.
Steampunk? Cosplaying? No Burning Man Festival this year, maybe the creative powers went into making monoliths instead?
Or maybe the Cabal has decided some kind of statement is to be made.

Grrr….I’ve been using Brasero to burn ISOs to discs, but somewhere in some upgrade I lost it — which is unfortunate, because it is falling-off-a-log easy. So I reinstalled it. But the process of trying to work around its absence then do a reinstall that got hung-up and I had to reboot has scrambled my brain somewhat.

I think you have to know the personality of the dog before you name it. Some dogs/breeds just don’t work with some names — e.g. “Wolf” for a Great Dane, Labrador, or Basset Hound.
Certain dog names are generally appropriate — Fido comes from Fidelis, “Loyal”, and most dogs will live up to that. Rascal (or, in German, Luempe [I had a dog named Luempe]) frequently works, as well as Scamp.
Pitbulls have the physique to carry names like “Spike” or “Killer”, but well-adjusted ones behave as if their names should be “Snuggles” or “Glue”. Or, perhaps, “Chairhog”.
Terriers really deserve names like “Killer”, “Torpedo”, “Decimator” or “Scrapper”. Most other breeds tend to tone down the killer instinct so they can herd, pull sleds, point and flush game, or track. Terriers wear it on their shoulders. I vaguely recall that the breed standard for a Norfolk Terrier allows for scars, “honorably gained and nobly borne.”
Good & fascinating points. I think we’ve used a combo of the dog’s characteristics (color, personality, or breed) & our creativity to give the dogs a name.
Our current dog, Jules, technically short for Juliette, I really wanted to get a name that had an Alaskan flavor, for she’s half husky. I probably presented as long of a naming list to the family as shared above but my suggestions got voted down. She’s probably the smartest, most energetic, & best dog we’ve ever owned, but she’s a pain in the Northwoods where she really likes to roam free & has caused several hours of searches & frustration for our hunters when she’s gotten out. Apparently she’s a very good tracker, unexpectedly…
I just saw that I can see who likes stuff now within the thread so I clicked the bell notifications to see if comment likes show up for me but there was no change (that I could tell). So I tried to click the thumb’s up on one of my comments & got the red naughty box informing me that I can’t boost my own comments! LOL I just wanted to see if a like at the thread would show in the bell area 😉
I’ve been finding that if I enable the bell-symbol next to the [Post Comment] button, (a gray bell with a slash through it, click on it and it turns green) only then will I get notifications of others liking the post.
I can still see who is giving the thumbs up, by hovering over the number next to the «thumbs-up» under the post. But unless I turn the bell green when making the post, I won’t get other notifications.

Looks like it has to be turned on before posting. And for each comment. It starts out in the off position And it only seems to apply to the Likes or thumbs-up. I get notices of replies through the black-bar Bell consistently.
OK, thanks for the tip! There’s always a bit of a learning curve for a new system/site & then there’s my brain like a sieve so holding onto info can be iffy 🙂

When I went to the post-partum checkup I asked the doctor how many stitches he’d used to sew me up, but he hadn’t counted. He stretched out his arms as wide as possible & said “I used three sutures this long”–yikes!
