There’s some video floating around (gatewaypundit, I think) which purports to show Ted Cruz badmouthing the crap out of DJT. I think it is a deepfake.
Cruz is going to run for re-election to the Senate. If this is a genuine video, he should save himself the effort because the MAGA peeps would make sure he didn’t get more than 40% of the vote.
Don’t forget that our POTUS called him Lying Ted in the primaries.
Well if true this is discouraging. Cruz seems solid on issues or at least as solid as anyone in the upper outhouse of Congress.
He always struck me as someone who knew how to say what everyone wanted to hear, whether he believed it or not. jmho
True words are cheap but his votes on the Senate floor are a somewhat better indicator.
As far as I know his votes have been pretty solid. He might go against POTUS sometimes but generally there’s a good constitutional argument (he’s a lot more strict constructionist than PDJT is) for it.
I’d love to have a Congress where the fighting is between strict constructionists and slightly-less-strict constructionists.
But did he vote to accept the electoral votes? I really can’t remember.
No, he was one of the few who did not vote to certify. So he was moving toward “hero” status, and now we find out that he’s really just another politician. His comment about the evidence not having been heard in court is so disingenuous because no court would hear it. He has to know that.

I don’t know how direct quotes are hearsay, unless someone made them up. Cruz lost my respect during the 2016 campaign. I do respect many things he has done since, but I have not lost my skepticism about him. If he disavows the quotes, I will listen.
If not, then I have to heavily qualify what I just said–he was generally supportive of Trump up until then.
Come to think of it I vaguely remember someone saying he didn’t think it was his job to reject state certifications, and it might have been him. If so he was just flat wrong; the whole reason for this step in the process is to do so where there is doubt the process was legitimately followed. This is one of the checks and balances in the Constitution, deliberate “breaking” of the separation of powers (and levels of government) put in for specific reasons. (Having the VP be the president of the Senate is another.)
On further thought, that may have been Rand Paul.

She took great delight in playing a “game” with them. If she poked ’em in the middle, they’d extend their eyes fully and try to look back and see what was poking them. If she poked ’em on the head, they’d retract their eyes fully to keep them from being attacked.
I’d let her run a few cycles on a particular slug, then explain that we didn’t want it to get tired and we had to find another one.

OK – I scheduled it according to MY time at 12:01 AM, and it appears to have come up that way, allowing others to post. BUT I didn’t see any notification via JetPack until 1:01 AM, which would be 12:01 AM HER TIME. I just immediately assumed (because I was doing responses by the notifier) that it had in fact just posted. But that’s not the case. It appears that it posted by my time, but my notification arrived based on HER time.
Now it could have been that her notification arrived in the notifier earlier, at my 12:01 AM, and I had simply missed it for an hour, but I kinda doubt it, because I was really immediately happy to see that the daily had posted, and I had looked at notifications repeatedly during that hour.

It’s freaky to me (and likely to you too) that there are people who cross state lines on their daily commute!
I can get to four different states in 2-3 hours (WY to give Cheney the finger, NE, KS, NM), and a fifth state (OK) with just a bit more time than that, but I can’t get anywhere not in Colorado in less time than that.
People do it here all the time, hence why a 54 year old bridge is on its fourth traffic deck, and two others have been replaced in the last five years.

BTW, Burma used to be a British colony — part of the India dealio. George Orwell (under his real name) worked as an administrator there for a number of years.

TL/DR version — the Brits controlled everything from modern Pakistan to Myanmar (inclusive). This was widely resented through the region and they sought independence. OTOH, it was generally understood that the Brits pulling out would touch off a civil war between the Muslims and everyone else throughout the territories, so the Muslim areas were designated “Pakistan” (Bangladesh was “East Pakistan” when I was a kid).
Myanmar (AKA Burma) was NOT a designated Muslim refuge, and when Bangladeshis started showing up in large numbers, it was NOT appreciated.
There’s sort of a parallelism between American Indian Reservations and the “Muslim Reservations” the Brits set up on the subcontinent. In both cases, there were large tracts of undesirable lands involved. The highest point in all of Bangladesh is 3491 feet — 10% of the country is within 1 meter of sea level — in an area known for monsoons and typhoons, the nation is a gigantic low-lying swamp.
In the west, you had the opposite problem — a substantial part of Pakistan is vertical or at high altitude.

We are now officially less than two weeks into the Biden administration, and our new president has a list of “accomplishments” as long as your arm of which he can boast.
Bragging points include:
The degrading of women by telling them they no longer have the right to their own dignity, their own identity or even their own sports; The denial of science by appointing a man who doesn’t even believe in the science of anatomy to be our nation’s assistant secretary of health; The execution of our country’s youngest babies by celebrating the left’s genocidal desire to kill these children just minutes before they are born; The escalation of racism by embracing critical race theory’s (CRT’s) racist manipulation of race; The destruction of our nation by destroying its borders (For what nation can exist if it no longer has any borders to define its existence?);
The return to the insanity of making us dependent on our enemies for the fuel needed to heat our homes, move our cars, and run our military; The evisceration of our economy by telling people the way for them to have more money is for the government to print it rather than let them work for it; And the theft of our religious freedom by forcing all of us to bow to the godawful religion of government as God.
And while all of this has been happening, what has the cry been from our nation’s evangelical leaders? Has it been that the prophets of Baal should repent? Has it been that we should stop sacrificing our children to Moloch? Has it been that we should all join Nehemiah, with a trawl in one hand and a sword in the other, as we rebuild the walls of our God-given freedom? Has it been to plead with our nation’s leaders to humble themselves and pray and seek God’s face and turn from their wicked ways?
No. This is not the message we hear from the church’s higher echelons of power.
In fact, it is the opposite. It seems that in the progressive spirit of reversing all narratives to suit your own political fancies, that today’s church leaders think young David, rather than defying the moral monstrosity called Goliath, instead turned and threw stones at his brothers. Consider the following.
Ed Stetzer, head of the Billy Graham Center in Wheaton, Illinois, says, “It’s time for a reckoning” for American evangelical Christians. David French, the senior editor for The Dispatch, calls on evangelicals to publicly apologize to the nation. Jo Anne Lyon, general superintendent emerita and ambassador of the Wesleyan Church, posts on social media that many parishioners within her own denomination might be unwittingly members of a cult and in need of being “reprogrammed.”
And what is the mortal sin for which we must repent and be reprogrammed? Millions of Christians dared to stand against the race to hell led by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris by supporting the one man on the ticket who had proven himself willing to stand in their way.
“But, in supporting the Orange Man, you implicitly endorsed his childish antics and his boorish behavior,” they cry. “You changed your morality.”
There is, however, a problem with this accusation.
Put simply — it’s not true.
I don’t know one biblically grounded Christian who ever endorsed Donald Trump’s sins. I know thousands, however, who rightly considered the sins of Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and all those who voted to empower them, to be much greater.
Failing to see this distinction in sin’s moral magnitude is the problem with the ongoing drumbeat of Never-Trumpism. Putting Mr. Trump’s boorishness on the same moral plane as killing children, denying women’s identity and crushing human freedom simply makes no logical, legal or biblical sense.
Many of us who are faithful followers of Christ believe that if we have a choice between life and death that we should choose life every time. Millions of the faithful understand that if we can vote for religious freedom and against ideological fascism, we should. We recognize that when the choice is between one cad and another, we must stand with the guy who guards life and liberty, no matter how much of a prurient pagan he may be. To put it another way, we simply have our priorities straight. We understand the nuance of moral significance and moral weight.
C.S. Lewis once said, “Put first things first, and we get second things thrown in: put second things first, and we lose both first and second things.” Human life and human freedom are First Things. Intemperate tweets and tirades are not.
For the past four years, millions of Americans had their priorities straight. In fact, we refused to change our morality and voted accordingly. I did so in 2016 and did so in 2020, and for that, I will not apologize.

I’ve never thought of POTUS Trump as boorish. Do these people ever get out of their ivory towers and actually listen to people talk? And did they ever stop and think about the war POTUS was in for his whole presidency? You don’t talk politely to people who want you dead. At any rate, it’s no wonder that so many people can no longer find a church home.

I used to have dozens and dozens of youtube videos saved showing crisis actors…and I mean CLEARLY showing crisis actors…with people clearly being directed by people in charge…fake wounds…critically wounded people getting up and walking away…the same people showing up in multiple locations and on and on…
All of those videos have been scrubbed by youtube and most of the channels have been banned. I still have a bunch on Charlottesville although the really good ones were removed. I still have the one with that airplane crash in Hawaii that had the health official on it who was somehow related to the Obama birth certificate scandal. She was the only person on the plane that died…another passenger filmed what was happening and people claim that they can see scuba divers in the water immediately after the crash and before any help arrived.
And then there’s this one from Fort Lauderdale…the only one from the various airport attacks that has somehow survived…probably because it’s a short video and has only has three hundred or so views and it’s on a neglected channel. One is easy.
He left on Air Force One because the new ex president is entitled to a ride home. The incoming not-yet-president is also entitled to a ride in. (Trump could have taken his own Trump Force One plane to Washington back in 2017, but chose to take the ride, which makes some sense, he got to get to know the crew that would be flying him for his time in office.)
Technically it’s not “Air Force One” if the current POTUS isn’t on board, by the way, but I know we mean the physical airplane used as Air Force One (and there are two of those, by the way).
But in this case, he was on Air Force One because he was still president when he flew out; he left DC before noon and the inauguration of His Fraudulency.
So at this point, since Wictor made this ignorant mistake, I’m disinclined to credit anything else Wictor says; especially since he’s just asking questions and inviting you to draw a conclusion, or making unsupported assertions.
That there is ‘no TFR’ over Mar A Lago is arousing interest.

I appreciate Wictor because he explicitly states he is basing his guesses on research into Trump’s character, abilities and M/O, not on secret information. So I enjoy his hopeful and clever guesses because I want them to be true. With Wictor, there is the cleanness of honesty.

But, having said “that said,” and totally anecdotal, I was talking to the guy who owns my nearby car repair shop. He is one of those very sharp, self-made men, and he loves Trump. His business office is festooned with Trump love.
I asked him how he felt with Biden in office, and he said: “I have not given up hope. I can feel that something is happening. It’s too quiet.”
And then yesterday: a close friend of mine has a son who was until recently #3 in a company whose t-shirts and gear many here probably wear and use. The son is sharp, sharp, sharp. And to my friend, the son said essentially the same thing as a car repair guy, that too much of some stuff was weirdly going on and too little of other stuff was weirdly going on, and that was because there are things happening in Trump’s favor.

Test-negative study designs are often utilized to calculate influenza vaccine effectiveness. The virus interference phenomenon goes against the basic assumption of the test-negative vaccine effectiveness study that vaccination does not change the risk of infection with other respiratory illness, thus potentially biasing vaccine effectiveness results in the positive direction. This study aimed to investigate virus interference by comparing respiratory virus status among Department of Defense personnel based on their influenza vaccination status. Furthermore, individual respiratory viruses and their association with influenza vaccination were examined.
RESULTS:
We compared vaccination status of 2880 people with non-influenza respiratory viruses to 3240 people with pan-negative results. Comparing vaccinated to non-vaccinated patients, the adjusted odds ratio for non-flu viruses was 0.97 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.86, 1.09; p = 0.60). Additionally, the vaccination status of 3349 cases of influenza were compared to three different control groups: all controls (N = 6120), non-influenza positive controls (N = 2880), and pan-negative controls (N = 3240). The adjusted ORs for the comparisons among the three control groups did not vary much (range: 0.46-0.51).
CONCLUSIONS:
Influenza vaccination and respiratory virus interference among Department of Defense personnel during the 2017-2018 influenza season.
Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. IMHO, the WeRise tweet is barking up the wrong tree with this comparison.
Photo 1 is President Trump in the Oval Office before the remodel for security purposes (adding strength and blocks against electronic monitoring, removing any listening devices, etc.) recommended by the Secret Service.
Photo 2 is the Demon Rat usurper puppet of China in the Oval Office with the wall paper President Trump picked out.
WSB and I have studied all the details of the decorative changes, art, accessories, historical museum property selections used by the various Presidents through the years.
Also remember – many trees have been removed from the Rose Garden and over a hundred roses added. The change of seasons, no leaves in winter, makes the driveway outside the window of the Oval Office. The windows behind the President’s desk do not look out to the Rose Garden, but a walkway and the circular drive way around the South Lawn.

Difficult to say, in PDJT’s picture the camera is looking more or less straight at him and yes one can see they are proper sash windows. However in the usurpers picture the camera is a bit higher up and looking more downwards, so the joint were the two sash’s meet may be out of shot.
What I do see is the individual panes of glass are different, those of the usurpers being more oblong, though that again might be done by the angle of the camera.

Hubby thinks that when all of us have had enough the civil war will start. idk but this is exhausting me mentally. Let me give you an example, one which I guess was before your time.
In 1994 there was an election the likes I had never seen before, and I was active in politics since the 60’s. To give you a flavor of that election, Rush Limbaugh was hailed as a hero by the incoming class of Congressmen.
Literally the day after victory, Gingrich started tearing down the victory, completely changing the terms of the victory. And he continued to tear down the victory until he transformed it into a liability.
This is the truth. When I saw and heard Gingrich the day after victory, I immediately understood that he was definitively throwing the victory away. And each day after for many months he continued to do so. I was infuriated.
But I wrote it off to ego. Gingrich saw himself as a world-historical figure, which he was not in any sense of the word. Sharp, clever, brilliant, well informed, glib, yes; world-historical, no. I thought I “knew” that Gingrich was hijacking the victory for his own egotistic and delusional purposes, but I see now I was only assuming as much. The explanation, valid as far as it went, did not go far enough into the dark and corrupt aspect of what he was doing.
He was playing a double game, and was an untrustworthy man. I see now in retrospect that we needed Buchanan, not Gingrich. We got Buchanan in 2016, finally and miraculously.
Trump was Brutus, metaphorically. But like with Brutus, the aftermath of the assassination (of GOPe) was not worked out properly. The proscriptions easily overtook the well-meaning efforts of the Republicans.
I have my own personal experience with many aspects of politics and society which has led up to today, including personal experience with the Republican party. None of that experience makes me believe that futility is not the goal and the intended outcome.
And as much as your exuberance is admirable to me, it does not change my perspective, and from your approach I do wonder if changing perspectives is part of your plan.

I’ve spent a day or two wandering down lists of Single Board Computers, looking up companies, finding their addresses and for some where they send their “Fab” or have their semiconductors ‘fabricated’. All with the goal of identifying what makers are heavily involved with China and what makers are not.
Half of Raspberry Pi’s are assembled in China, and you can’t tell from the outside of the box where it was assembled.
Nevertheless, it should be a fairly secure platform because it’s got people swarming all over its innards all the time. If someone detected a ganked one, the news would be all over the world within days.
It should also be noted that Linux routinely updates processor microcode within the standard package management system.
Be tough if someone subbed in a set of nefarious “spyware” microcode in a device, shipped it out, and had it overwritten by Linux during the first update/upgrade.
Just to flesh out that latter point, my various Pi’s run various Linuxes. One of them permanently runs Kali, a security / forensics / penetration flavor of Linux ( https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=kali ). I use it to try to break into other computers on my network to make sure I didn’t leave any obvious doors open. Or to check what is going on in my wireless neighborhood. Or to prove that things work how I think they do. It’s sort of a Swiss Army Knife of computer security.
I’ve got an older Pi that is running 32-bit Ubuntu MATE. It’s used as a printserver, but one with a twist. It runs as a printserver on two different networks at the same time, using network routing tables to ensure that it reports job status back to the same network that it got the job from. As an aside, it communicates with the printers over USB. Printers are actually little Linux machines, themselves, and guess how often they get security patches?
I’ve got a Pi4 that I’m using to experiment with Ubuntu Studio ( https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntustudio ). So far, I’ve found it to be amazingly capable.
I’ve got a Pi that I ONLY use for talking to my bank and brokerage (both have 2FA fobs, as well) using standard Raspbian.
I’ve got a Pi that I use only to archive scans (scan -> thumbdrive, copy thumbdrive to USB 2.0 spinning rust drive, verify rust matches paper doc, shred doc). Also standard Raspbian.
I’m using the ARM64 Ubuntu MATE Pi image a lot for Pi4’s. It allows me to run Firefox.
When I finally move, I’m going to be setting up several Pi4’s as fileservers — they have 2x USB 3.0 for drives — that can be ext4 journaled Linux (with security) and true Gigabit Ethernet.
And I ask you, where in this mess would you insert Chinese spyware? Certainly not in the Pi’s.

Online trading app Robinhood received tremendous blowback from investors last week after blocking purchases of GameStop (NYSE: GME) stock. While it said traders could sell their shares, Robinhood wouldn’t let anyone buy the stock.
Although it eventually relented, the trading app has announced it is issuing new rules because of the market volatility, and it will let you buy only one share of GameStop’s stock.
In what will surely anger traders further, the limit is an aggregate total, not per-order. That means if you already own one or more shares of GameStop, you cannot buy any more. It also limits traders to owning just five option contracts. It won’t sell any stock or contracts you own in excess of the limit, but it won’t let you buy more.

A bunch of guys and gals who more likely eat Chicken Nuggets than Filet Mignon have done more for the populism movement in a week than a House and Senate full of Republicans did in four years to assist Donald Trump.

I knew an American family whose ancestors were indentured servants. They emigrated from England to New England early on (17th century). Their family reunions are huge: a couple of hundred people.
You’re Welcome CM! That DNA Explained blog has some great material in it. I consider some of her research to provide “parallel” info on some of our family history, like flavor of the era or the experience, that may or may not have been our ancestors experiences.
I’m pretty sure that I’ve narrowed down some of my husband’s ancestry between DNA & records research & it appears that he Might also descend from white slaves, Quakers, who were enslaved in the Caribbean before coming to America.
If some of the insanity in our society ever settles down I look forward to the peace of digging back into actual personal family history for recreation & enjoyment!

I can believe the bit about Quakers being indentured servants. They were loathed in Britain, and the same attitude carried over to the Thirteen Colonies. Philadelphia and Rhode Island were Quaker settlements, if I remember rightly.
I will have a closer look at more entries on that blog. History and genealogy are fascinating.
I don’t know much about Quakers myself. That particular presumed family line has many generations of Quakers, there’s even a small family cemetery in DC I hope to look for if ever we return to the Capitol. Fortunately, from a family history perspective, the Quakers kept some interesting records to flesh out some of their activities, meetings, movements, marriages, etc. fun stuff.

I haven’t had many personal genealogy adventures for a while either. Roberta Estes’ write ups on her DNAexplained blog are done so well that she presents a model of what I Hope to do if ever attempting to write up what info I’ve already accumulated. She refers to a project from several years back called 52 Ancestors, where genealogists were encouraged to feature an ancestor each week in some type of write up. That framework seemed to help motivate her to her amazingly detailed & well researched & reasoned tales. Adding in her genetic genealogy expertise (a relatively new & upcoming field) her material appeals to the historian & scientist within so many of us.
My formal history education was pretty sadly lacking, sorry to say. If William Penn was ever presented it was in the most cursory manner. I recall the that the Puritans were fleeing significant religious persecution in Europe so for them to turn around & persecute those who believed differently than them seems the height of hypocrisy! It is a major pet peeve of mine when people pass on inaccurate and/or misleading information, on purpose, as is being done in the Marshall Report. It’s tantamount to lying, and it can do a great deal of damage when others trust it and continue to pass it on.
I trusted it and posted the pic here, thinking it showed Pres. Trump’s current office and setup, before I realized that it was not true. In another post here, I showed how someone else passed on the same pic and false information in a tweet.
I disagree that the article wasn’t trying to convince us of anything. It shows pics of Pres. Trump in Mar-a-lago and says this:
The present tense is completely misleading. Yes, in the PIC he IS in his office, but we do not know wheter he is there, like that, now. She intentionally gives the wrong impression, and I can only assume she is doing it for clicks. That kind of deception is not harmless.
Of course it’s official; if what michaelh said is correct, it was taken while Pres. Trump was still in office. But the author is insinuating that now, when he’s not in the WH, DJT has an equally “official-looking” office — which we have no way of knowing. This is deceptive. And she gives a nondisclaimer/disclaimer at the end, which only serves to convince people more.
Piling on, making it seem that the pic is showing that Pres. Trump has an elaborate setup, unlike past presidents, which must indicate that he is working hard on projects for us. (And he might be doing that, but we don’t know that. To insinuate it, even in “fun,” is damaging, IMO.)
Here’s the difference between truth and deception. She could have had the same article and pics and said, “These pics show DJT in his Mar-a-lago office before he left office last year. I would love it if this were also his current setup, continuing to work on MAGA.” THAT would be truthful.
So yes, now that I know what that site is about I will definitely ignore it, but other people see pics and assume they are current (as I did), and then pass them on, and the untruth gets perpetuated.

I’m not trying to nitpick; I just want to explain what gives me pause with this kind of blogging. DP posted a Delores Cahill video about COVID below. I went to the Twitter site of the person who had posted the video, and I found a version of that pic there, saying “He’s still working for us.”
But that isn’t what that photo depicts. According to michaelh, Pres. Trump is not *still* working for us in that pic because it’s from before he got kicked out of office. He might be working for us harder than ever, but it is not truthful to say that about that pic, and it gives people false hope and might even cause some to be inactive.
So I can skip it, yes, but because many aren’t aware that it’s not accurate, it gets circulated in conservative circles and people get the wrong idea about what’s really going on. And that can be deadly in a war.
If people get the wrong idea – that is their choice – there are many opinion pieces out there I would not touch with a ten foot pole because they are pure nonsense.
Even Diane says – ‘what do I know’ – which means she does not pretend to know or understand any more than any other person.
There are tons of people who write inaccurate reports of a daily basis – and yet others think they know everything – this is a blog – an OPINION PIECE – you can choose to accept an opinion, learn from it, and/or ignore it – just as I choose to skip anything that comes from the MSM and other motor mouths to whom people frequently flock to as experts.!
For me, The Marshall Report is a respite from the TONS of FAKE NEWS and PURE SPECULATION out there.
I’m very disappointed in the two I’ve read and checked out so far.
So – don’t read them – they are not NEWS articles – they are opinion pieces – there are many opinion pieces out there that are pure garbage – and too many ‘broadcasters’ that are ego maniacs who do not allow their ‘guests’ to speak – all in a day’s panning for something relevant, Georgia.

That is why we see so much backlash against the GOPe speaking and voting against President Trump and the GOPe/RINOs quitting instead of us!

If one has not voted Republican in the past (for open primary states) or is not registered (in closed primary states) then one may not be qualified as a “bona fided” Republican. In TN, we check voting in the primaries (we don’t know for whom you voted but we know if one takes a GOP or a Dem primary ballot – public records) and require GOP voting for 3 of the last 4 state wide primaries. I don’t know the requirements for other states.
Some also require membership for the previous year. Most all will require membership for current year to be a voting member.
Get involved in person. Send no money. Show up and be involved.
(disclaimer: to be involved in person and to vote you will probably have to be a local member of the county party. In TN the county party membership fee stays in the county unless otherwise voted. None automatically goes to the state party or the RNC. I do not know how other states do things. Typical fee in Most TN counties ranges from $10 per year to $30 or even $50. Larger the county, the more expensive, typicially. Just posting this so not suprised if you actually show up to get involved in person)
If you can’t run for office this year, be a member, go to at some if not most of the monthly meetings, meet the speakers, the elected politicians, the activists and those community members who would be good to run. Be an influencer!
And, yes, if I can run for office (and win) *anyone* can! Looking for workers, doers, and somewhat people skilled + somewhat informed who is willing to get the job done.

a) Comorbidities were present but were not necessarily killing people. People can be overweight, have high blood pressure that is under control with diet/exercise &/or pills and high blood sugars that is under control with diet/exercise &/or pills and would not have died this past year without Covid19. Having comorbidities does not mean someone is dying or only has months to live or would have been dead without covid19.
How many reading this have 2 comorbidities? Overweight, high blood pressure or diabetes? Heart issues or chronic asthma? If you have 2 or more you still might have many good years ahead of you. If you have 2 or more would you want people to dismiss your death of Covid19 as “expected” and not hold China accountable?
Just because they had comorbidities doesn’t mean they would not be alive today if not for Covid19.
Some were overcounted and died “with” rather than “because of” Covid19. However, being overweight and having high blood pressure, for example, would not make a covid19 death any less of a covid19 death so backing out all covid19 deaths with comorbidities is inaccurate.
b) if there are even less covid19 deaths among those who died in 2020 then what is killing US citizens? CDC already admits that 1/3 of excess deaths in 2020 were not covid19. Will we find that even fewer excess deaths were the result of covid19? If not covid19 then what? that scandal is only beginning!
Are you saying that the method of death certificate reporting as outlined in the 2003 Coroners’ Handbook on Death Registration and Fetal Death Reporting and Physicians’ Handbook on Medical Certification of Death has been incorrect all this time? Because that’s the standard that should have continued to be used for COVID reporting, yet they altered it.

Your argument about underlying comorbidities does not take this alteration from the established norm into account. In fact, it looks as if you are arguing for special treatment of stats for COVID patients with comorbidities, outside of the established norm.
I should think it should be treated exactly like the flu was in 2019, whatever that was.
And many, many deaths of people with comorbidities was blamed on the flu; in fact many deaths from pneumonia (when it was a complication of the flu) were counted as flu deaths, and rightly so.
Since the article states that the CDC changed the method of reporting on March 24, 2020, it would seem that flu deaths from 2019 would have been reported according to the existing standards from 2003 — unless the CDC published a similar alert document for 2019 that we don’t know about.
Back in the Stone Age, when I learned auditing, an audit opinion stated that comparative financial statements were the result of practices and procedures “consistently applied”. The standard opinion no longer includes such language, which is one reason I’m no longer involved in auditing. Essentially, the whole PCAOB/SarbOx mess changed auditing to “we bow to the howling mob.”
Everything contrary to the COVID narrative gets memory-holed.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Monday announced her office is dismissing more than 1,600 ordinance violations and misdemeanor citations involving violations of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s coronavirus emergency orders that were later determined to violate the Michigan Constitution.
Police throughout Michigan began enforcing various emergency orders that limited social gatherings, commerce and other activity under the authority of emergency orders issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer between April and October, when the state Supreme Court ruled a 1945 law underpinning the orders was unconstitutional.
[HOWEVER]
Shortly after the emergency orders were rescinded, similar rules were reissued by former Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon under emergency state public health laws.
The public health law states that if the health director determines “control of an epidemic is necessary to protect the public health, the director by emergency order may prohibit the gathering of people for any purpose and may establish procedures to be followed during the epidemic to insure continuation of essential public health services and enforcement of health laws.”
That law has been the basis for ongoing coronaviurs restrictions.
