Hello to most, but definitely not to all.
The experience of my self-imposed “fast” from posting has been most interesting. I have not been posting, but I have been lurking. Every day. I must say, refraining from posting has been a HUGE challenge, especially at first, but it got progressively easier as I came to a few conclusions. Naturally, I have MUCH to say, but I will try to be brief instead and make only a few observations.
First, it is impossible to fail to note that the number of daily postings are down. WAY down. I wasn’t sure that would happen, but I DID expect it to happen. The problem was I could not say so beforehand because I had to allow the experiment to take place without influence of any kind. And this was, specifically, to the allow doomfagging usual suspects to have free reign without opposition. And they took full advantage in my self-imposed absence.
As I have warned over and over again, despondency is a viral CANCER that will quickly run through an army if it is unchecked and allowed to do so. It’s called “morale”, and morale must be guarded and protected with FIERCE jealousy. In an army, despondency results in desertions and AWOLs, WEAKENING the army. Even fatally. This is, IMHO, exactly what has caused the daily number of posts to go from 1,500 per day when I stopped posting to it’s present, pathetic figure.
And Wolf allowed it to happen.
Not only did he allow this to happen, he is…as this small army’s leader….the most responsible for it happening, because he let the doom-maggots run wild. And in my absence, along with his written approval, boy did they ever.
I warned you. Over and over. And the numbers don’t lie. Congrats. /s
Second, and in stark contrast to the unsurprising result above, I was and have remained STUNNED AND AMAZED at the amount of information that is NOT being picked up and posted here in the almost 2 weeks since I last posted. Then again, the doom-faggots were given a free hand with precious little pushback (much less well deserved REMOVAL…as all such cancers both merit and require for the health and well-being of the flock), so perhaps this aspect shouldn’t be so surprising as well.
That said, I’ll drop just one crumb, of dozens, that everyone here has missed….and it’s a biggie. Frankly, I remain quite surprised that no one here has checked Sec. Pompeo’s private twitter account since he left office. If you had, you would have found this…

Third, I have seen others make much of holding onto, advancing, and never letting go of the FACT that there WAS rampant and widespread vote fraud…and that the molding potato that currently calls himself POTUS is illegitimate. THIS IS EXACTLY CORRECT! He is most assuredly not.
1. The courts didn’t reject the evidence. They REFUSED to hear the evidence.
2. This was intentional….both on the part of the corrupt courts, as well as by PDJT.
3. The people need to SEE.
4. SEE they will.
5. We were warned this (#3 & 4) this would happen.
JUST BECAUSE THINGS HAVE NOT TURNED OUT HOW INDIVIDUAL’S EXPECTATION’S WERE SET DOES NOT MEAN Q WASN’T/ISN’T REAL OR TRUMP HAS BEEN DEFEATED. STRATEGIC RETREATS ARE A PART OF SUCCESSFUL WARFIGHTING STRATEGY.

I was rethinking my efforts as so many want to tell the rest of us what they think we SHOULD do without volunteering themselves. It’s most annoying. BUT, I know that differences aside, we’re stronger together than apart. That was part of splitting Daughn off from the rest of us was about. Somebody out there didn’t want this whole group together for some reason.
Going on without people to help bring back reality even if we/they are ignored…I’m used to it. I guess others aren’t.
But this is getting very lonely fighting against the doomfags and all who cannot see the forest for the trees.

I was always surprised that so few people got back in his face. (before today) He was just a pompous douche that advertised his profession and believed that made him untouchable, opinion-wise.
To get in someone’s face, you have to be prepared for blowback. Some people are not prepared for that, or they don’t want to face it. And the blowback continues, passively, in his post, as he makes sure we know that there are those he approves of here and those he doesn’t. That is dividing. There are people whom I don’t always agree with here. I either present my view and we move on, or I keep silent. But when there is an underlying current of scorekeeping and labeling and judgment, it keeps people on edge and deters from the important topics at hand and issues of the day.
My point was that I believe many folks here were bullied into being deferential. “He’s domineering and has a high-powered career, and I’m a nobody . . . so I’ll just keep my mouth shut” type of thing. Bad news.
I’d bet my house that with tomorrow’s page turn he’ll be here lurking, to see if he’s still being mentioned. 😄

If would be very unfortunate if the comments on this page harmed FG&C’s ability to defend himself because of the situation he is currently in or anything that could come up in the future. Denying someone the ability to make a living because of some comment that someone made while they were angry does not make sense.
I do not believe in stifling free speech but I also don’t believe that it would be fair to leave these comments in place for eternity that could potentially do serious damage to his reputation.
I think the comments got really out of hand and it would be nice if there was a way to “clean” some of this up.

I’m sure there is an explanation, and I’m tending toward it being that your long-term Q skepticism, combined with long-term preparation for situations like the present, mean you’re not building up frustration levels as the Trump era appears to be dissolving. I’ve always been positive on Q’s upside effects, but I never forbade the thought that it could have been exactly and WHOLLY what Wikileaks called it – a pacification psy-op. I kinda get why one of those would be a good thing from the viewpoint of everybody.
I’m not utterly convinced that there will be no rescue, but the reality of my mother’s life taught me how great countries can fall for stupid reasons, when good men will do nothing. If there was a plan that didn’t involve corralling us, then it could have been bottlenecked into failure. Who knows?

Yeah, I’ve noticed the number of comments drop off. Part off that is people having life to attend to. Part of it is lack of participation by various quarters that brought balance. Balance is needed to counter the doom fagging and all that. And that is what makes this place special even if Mike Pompeo’s tweet feed isn’t popping up in all of ours.
Not going to say anything further as it won’t do any good, I’m sure. Wolf is just using freedom of speech to give everyone a voice. Do we all agree with everything said here. Good Lord, no. But, at least it was a place to find more than one version of events because Wolf allowed that to be posted where other hosts don’t.
That’s a compelling reason to stay, IMO. And stomping off in frustration when things don’t go our way…seriously done with that in life.
I think another reason for comments dropping off is people simply needed some space to think about and absorb what has happened. FG&C, you took a sabbatical, so why do you think no one else needed to do the same?
And let’s not forget all the suspensions and deplatforming of conservatives on various social media. As much as I hate the orcs that run Twitter, there were an awful lot of conservative accounts from which I got a lot of news to investigate. I’ve been suspended and a large number of them have been suspended. While I can still poke around on Twitter, my timeline ends on January 8th, the day I was suspended. So it is now very difficult to find the people left and follow what they are tweeting. An awful lot of them are not on Gab or other platforms as of yet. I know a number of people here are in the same position. We are scrambling to find the variety of sources we found on Twitter. I’ve found that a lot of sites I may have once visited for news are compromised or “doom fagging” as well. I’m sure that gives the cabal much joy.
People need time to get their bearings and figure out how to move forward. This site is a great place to do that, whether there are doom faggers or not. I for one tend to think that what has happened is part of the plan, but I’ve always believed Q was for real, whether we totally understood everything or not.

First, I didn’t blame “everyone else”. I was very specific. At the same time, I did not name any names although I very well could have. Then again, there is no need. A child can point them out.
Second, I posted a great deal of supportive and uplifting information. I clearly indicated there is more out there to find while pointing at the Pompeo tweet. And there is….a LOT more.
Third, there have been no beatings of any kind, highlighting the ridiculousness of your post.

I think everybody understands that, the problem is (and remains) that our side won’t fight.

I am one of the people here who has stepped back a bit, not because I’m not “here” reading every day, but because I have complicated feelings that when expressed may not be very helpful. I’m human, this sucks, and I’m feeling it. My Dad always said “hide and watch” when others were doing things you either didn’t understand or couldn’t really help with. And that is where we are right now.
We are certainly going to “see” if what we have believed in for so long now comes to fruition. But I am with you; we did our part. We voted, we persuaded, we commented, we wrote. I personally lost FAMILY to my insistence on Trump as our only choice, my own child who will barely speak to me. And that was ok, because I love my country, and hopefully he will come around eventually. But we DID what it is in our power to do. It is out of our hands. That is hard to accept, but it is TRUE. People yapping about “voting them out” in 2022 haven’t accepted reality.
To be railed against by someone who has the most over-inflated ego here, who took ten days for himself but can’t grant the grace of a reprieve to anyone else who might need a minute, is too much.

2 There are fewer comments in the daily when there are supplementary topical posts…and there have been several great ones.

3 We no longer have Flep writing a news Roundup – but that feature ‘column’ didn’t draw away many comments from the daily thread.

Here’s the thing about free speech, and this is for all of us in all walks of life, it means accepting EVERYONE’s right to say what they want so long as fights don’t break out. Self-censoring is part of that, even to keep the peace. I mean, if I were to express my honest opinion on various music genres, I’d be called a snob. I know that, so I keep my mouth shut.
The issue, for me, is the diversity of backgrounds needed to flesh out all of the activity and messaging. No one of us has all the answers. Sometimes, it takes bouncing ideas around and correcting opinions based on assumptions with facts to get any one issue straightened out.
I think we’re both seeing the value of free speech here very similarly.
I know we do. And I also know why. And I could say a lot more, but it wouldn’t come out right this early in the morning.
I’m done arguing here in this forum. I am choosing not to engage with the doomfags any longer. At the same time, I am not going to subject myself to reading their dreck, either.

FWIW, Daughn focuses most of her attention of a very large Facebook group that recently moved to MeWe. It’s not another WP blog, but it is a needed community in a parallel domain. So the WP blog does not get the same care and feeding.
That said, by many measures she does get a lot of traffic and interaction on her blog. Many blogs would think 10 comments on a post is crazy. We’re just spoiled by having a very talkative group.

FG&C, I would like to pose a question to you. Is the Qtree more like a tavern, where people met during revolutionary times to share ideas, plans, and recruit people rather than a military unit? Wolf is the “tavern owner”, the host, willing to let people speak and have discourse in his tavern. We are not an army unit per se, we are a group of people, bringing in “intelligence” and ideas. It is upon ourselves to do due dililgence to discern what is real or not and what is feasible or not.
There are some people here that needed to learn how to discern so called “doomfaggers”. Wolf let discourse continue and finally told people to pay attention to certain patterns usually followed by shills. Some people here have gone and do go on to the chan boards where there are plenty of different kinds of shills. I haven’t gone for quite a while, but it was interesting. At one point there were a lot of newbies that showed up and complained about the different types of shilling, “Why don’t you kick these ______ people off?” Finally, some one who’d obviously had been on the boards for a long time gave a brief “course” in discerning shills, what their motives and purposes were, and to basically IGNORE them so as to not feed them. Wolf has tried to limit the shills, and the worst ones are not here at all, but he’s not perfect. He’s kept most of them out, however. He’s given the same advice, IGNORE the shills.
To your first point, about post numbers dropping, I knew it would happen. It is natural that more people post more during a time of intense news occurrences, as with the election, hearings regarding it, January 6th, etc. It happened exactly as I knew it would, with no negative implications. It is not an indication of anything except a lull in the news cycle (i.e., our not hearing from Q or PDJT and no explosive occurrences).
The rest of your post, besides the Pompeo tweets, is puzzling, since the info has been covered here, some of it extensively, including the HCQ and vaccine info. You could have just come back and added to our discussions, without casting blame and negativity. But, your choice.
As for Daughn, she is a very valuable warrior and poster, but you either still haven’t seen the whole story, or you’re just not looking at it.
I disagree with your blame placed on Wolf. I can see several reasons, in addition to those he states, why he runs this site the way he does. I think you are correct, though, that if you do not agree with it, it might be best to go elsewhere. We will miss your unique perspectives and insight. I didn’t realize QTree has doomfaggers. Instead I’ve been impressed by the incandescent fire of Wolf; sometimes in casual lightning bolts he tossed aside while walking between topics. Wolf is writing love letters to future historians, where they can read truth. Wolf is here being a better character than he knew before, whatever the story brings him.
Providing poor leadership is not Wolf’s character. He’s giving opportunity for folks to mature into strength. Some people mistake big comments for their own virtue. If I look inside I can find better resources for doing what I need to do in these times.

That plane is, if I am not mistaken, an F-35, probably the Marine version as it was supposed to take the place of the A-V8 which did the same thing. The air thrust out vents or whatever they are, are on the sides and can be maneuvered so the aircraft can hover. My dad worked on the A-V8 for YEARS. When they were stalling like that, they were LOUD.

I do not know that crap from school years. No one played games and everyone was friends with everyone. I never cared if I was alone or not but somehow everyone wanted to be my friend. Never rejected anyone either.
After I came to America it changed you do friendships different except NYC.
Here it seems more a user relationship at least I found that. As long as someone is useful or to someone advantage people are friends. At least I found it that way. Maybe I just run into the wrong people or is just me. I am a square that does not fit in the round hole 🙂

I say this with complete seriousness and sincerity. I don’t understand. I do agree that childish rhetoric, name-calling, and the like are not helpful. But I don’t understand the degree of latitude given to someone who has offended people right and left while being unrepentant and critical and divisive. I don’t understand the reaction when people who have held it in for a while finally push back.
The whole situation is unfortunate, but human nature is what it is. It manifests in the one who started this discussion today, and in the responses. I don’t think it fair to give leeway in one direction and not the other.
I have been one of the few who dared to state my opinions openly. How is it good for a site when one person holds others cowering, either in fear or because they don’t know how to handle the situation?
He brought valuable insight, and that will be missed. At the same time, there were multiple problems, and I would tell him to his face, both in writing (here), and literally in person. Some people felt bullied. If you didn’t agree with him, you were toast.
It would have been reasonable to expect that someone who returned from a sabbatical of prayer and reflection would have some positive insight about the experience, something to share that might enlighten others. Instead, we got a diatribe of criticism. So I don’t understand why that is okay.

Said with respect, to me there was no part of this thread which was eye-opening, except for any open eyes.
I wasn’t sure who he was talking about, and didn’t want to even go there on anybody, leaving the likely recipients an option for an “I’m just ignoring this” response, but I now get to say that in my opinion we were ALL correct, to some extent, about the Flynn prosecution and defense, and that this is just another reason why absolutism has no place in free speech, other than that it be absolutely free as its highest ideal.
I was prepared for this all my life. At its base, physical science is based on quantum mechanics, which nobody REALLY understands. It is FILLED with uncertainty, and yet we are asked to try to make predictions within and from that uncertainty. Eventually, uncertainty becomes not a wife, but a French mistress. Feynman, of course, was perfect for this. One doesn’t need to know everything – one simply accepts the mysteries and contradictions, and enjoys the beautiful moments of clarity for what they are, whenever they can be engineered, or somehow out-waited to appear randomly.
Most other professions require a kind of exactitude that needs to exclude uncertainty in different ways, and more ways. I accept that, and bear no grudge against those who think that way. We are all dumped into the gift of life with no choice that we can see now. How we deal with that is part of the beauty.
Uncertainty is an essential aspect of life, unavoidable, and it freaks out many people, and causes them to over-react.

Just to belabor the Flynn thing. If what Byrne says is true, there apparently was no connection at all between Flynn/Powell and VSG. Powell was flying solo. This removes a possible explanation for what she did (one I never thought probable).
So Flynn could have gotten what he eventually wound up with (a pardon) several years before it happened, while saving himself whatever expense and anxiety it cost him during those three years, and sparing himself the more serious legal jeopardy Powell put him into by blundering.
I recognized her blunder at the time she made it and predicted it had a great likelihood of putting Flynn into much more serious criminal jeopardy, and it did.
Barr used a (jurisdictional) power move to get Powell off the hook. The reasoning behind the move (materiality) was IMO highly suspect, but that is often the nature of power moves (Democrats do this type of stuff all the time). Back to this later.
Meanwhile, Powell was making headlines and attracting a huge public audience for the proposition that Sullivan was a corrupt judge, as the case was pending before Sullivan. She was making headlines, but she was not making valid legal arguments, and the judge knew this. Neither Powell nor her media supporters (Cleveland) made a coherent legal argument, but nit-picked sensational details.
Also meanwhile, lawyers and non-lawyers alike made arguments which only reflected that they did not have the faintest idea what they were talking about, and were unfamiliar with the way things worked.
All of this is NOT to say, as I always said, that people were wrong about what had happened. When you get into the legal system, what really happened can and frequently does get swallowed up by the process. A lawyer’s duty is to get the best result for a client, not to do justice.
And justice is often sacrificed in the best interests of the client. Often perjury is required in the client’s best interests. And often in retrospect a person but NOT the lawyer will resurrect the perjury in the misguided pursuit of justice. This is why you hear people claiming to have been railroaded. Because they were “railroaded.” And everyone who participated knows it, just as they (including most ESPECIALLY the client) knew that the best thing for the client was to be “railroaded.”
Until Powell, was there any lawyer stupid enough to not understand this? From the comments by many lawyers, apparently there were. But they just were unfamiliar with the dynamics, had zero at stake (unlike Powell), and felt that their license made them experts on all aspects of the law.
Why Barr tried to get Powell off the hook is an interesting question to me. I rule out a valid motivation. I regard it as a sheer exercise of power. The supporting reasons make no sense, but are exactly the type of flim-flam obscure excuse which courts have long since accepted in order to let the prosecutor do what the prosecutor wants. And there is usually a good even excellent reason for the prosecutor to do what he wants to do. And in this case, there was a good/excellent reason for doing so, it was just not the reason Barr gave. Phony excuses in a good cause are excuses which courts approve in deference to the prosecutor’s judgment.
But in this case, Barr was facing a judge who was validly angry at being legally jerked around and publicly demeaned by Powell, and Barr used his excuse at the worst possible legal moment, after Flynn said under oath twice that he was guilty. Before the guilty plea was another world entirely.
Nonetheless, Barr could reasonably expect his motion to be granted. He just mis-read the situation, although his mis-reading was IMO an error in judgment. To me, it was obvious that Powell had clumsily angered the judge into an understandable rage.
Anyway, to make my point, finally, and this is speculation. Why did Barr try to get Powell off the hook? My guess is that this was part of Barr’s ongoing deception regarding government and Deep state corruption of interest to Deplorables. Like his beautiful speeches, it was a phony and cost-free way to make it look like he gave a rat’s ass. No big deal, Flynn gets off, no one in government gets hurt in the process, and the Deplorables keep their hopes up and maintain their belief that Barr can be trusted as he temporizes.
A side observation given what we know now. Powell’s incompetence was so breath-takingly inept, I felt that Aubergine’s law must apply, that there had to be an element of grifting, especially given her public appearances, constant book-selling, and persistent dunning. Now I think Hanlon’s law applies. And although Byrne’s description of Powell made me look upon her abilities more kindly, his details raise other questions which no one, including me, will ever address in writing.
Very – no – EXTREMELY helpful. The idea that Barr was throwing a Biden-election-revocable freebie to us MAGAts (as we are called by “them”) with no skin off the coup’s ass, to insure that the electoral coup would work, just makes so much sense now, it almost proves everything else about his role in this.
Indeed, that idea – “getting Trump OUT by the electoral coup, with all truths and duties malleable to this end” – has amazing explanatory power. Even Pence was “bought in” to that goal.
In some ways, we were ALL used brilliantly. Sad.

Since election day, the price of oil appears to have jumped about $16 /barrel. #DoTheMath $16*20 million barrels a day is $320 million more spent daily across US economy. This works out to 2,240 millions/per week or $2.24 Billion or 116,800 millions or $116.8 billion/yearly.
If you divide this by 150 million American workers it works out to $778 more spent per worker per year or $2.13/day. Keep in mind this doesn’t take into account the multiplier effect which magnifies this cost to 3-7 fold depending on industry.
Why am I writing about this today? Because our Domestic Energy Industry (Western States, Alaska, etc) is being attacked from within our own Nation by our own Government for the benefit of Globalism and International Oil Trusts. It’s disgusting. President Trump ended hundreds of billions being siphoned out of the US and #BolshelvikBiden turned the spigot back on to siphon the cash back out of US while destroying 10’s of thousands of jobs and ultimately north of a million jobs because each billion that stays on US soil is worth about 4,000 jobs. 4,000 *116.8 (billions annually) or 467,200 jobs (let’s not forget multiplier effect of at least 3). * 3 or just over 1.4 million jobs. Absolutely disgusting and should be investigated for criminality component (i.e bribes/skim)

Now – here is something you’ll enjoy. A dream (sorry, Phoenix, but it’s how I see surprising things) that I had recently. It helps to understand, I think.
I was in this castle-like building, very old, a bit like a museum, where I literally had a room with sleeping space. It was old – almost went back to the time of knights – but it was an American museum inside. It was old, round, tall – an ancient remnant of a corner tower of a very early castle, made of stone, covered with moss. Something like that.
I was ROUSED from my sleep there, in my fine sleeping office inside this thing, behind the velvet ropes, by a bunch of people barging in with signs and placards. They were protesters. They were “human like me”, but they were short, stout, stubby, angry (yet peaceful), troll-like people, a bit like both the Hobbits and the short, stubby dude in LOTR (I forgot what he is – like the opposite of the elves, but they’re good guys – trolls, moles, dwarves – whatever). They were like little fat English or German ladies made even shorter and stouter, but dressed nicely, with hairdos and necklaces and dresses and nice shoes on their piggish legs. Bee-hive hairdos and cat-eye glasses. Brezhnev eyebrows and hints of facial hair. A herd of miniaturized 1950’s trigglypuffs. It was absolutely comical.
They were angry and obnoxious, but not violent. They jabbered at me in some language that sounded like mine, but I could barely understand it. I felt OFFENDED that they had barged in, and I didn’t understand what they wanted. My feeling was “Just because I don’t own the place, and I’m renting it, I’m rightly here, and it doesn’t mean you can object to my being here.” I knew that I could object to them as being rabble, but I also knew that would be wrong. Deep inside, I knew that this place was THEIRS, not MINE. I was legally there, but THEY were right. I wasn’t supposed to be there, even though the law SAID that I was renting properly.
It’s obvious what this meant. But I saw it from the other side. I saw what we look like to them. I felt what they feel.
It felt like it would have been easy for me to call the police and get them hauled out, but it was not right. I FELT at the end of this, as though I had to put my clothes on and leave. I felt like I could tell myself it was for my safety, but I knew that was a lie, and it was really to avoid their confrontation and righteous protest. Nevertheless, I still didn’t like them.
And then I woke up. I decided not to say anything about this dream until now, when I changed my mind for some reason.

C. Extremists Traits
1. What type of person belongs to an extremist group or follows an extremist ideology? The terms extremism or extremist are almost always applied by others to a group rather than by a group labeling itself. People within an extremist group will deny that they practice or advocate violence; instead they would more likely call themselves political radicals.
2. According to George and Wilcox, there are a number of specific traits or behaviors that tend to represent the extremist style. As a caution, we are all fallible human beings, and some of us may resort to these behaviors from time to time without bad intentions. With extremists, these lapses are not occasional; rather, they are habitual and a strongly established part of an extremist’s character.
a. Character assassination
Extremists often attack the character of an opponent rather than deal with the facts or issues raised. They will question motives, qualifications, past associations, alleged values, personality, looks, and mental health as a diversion from the issues under consideration.
b. Name calling and labeling
Extremists are quick to resort to taunts (e.g., pervert, racist, and crackpot) to label and condemn opponents and to divert others from listening to their arguments.
c. Irresponsive sweeping generalizations
Extremists tend to make sweeping claims or judgments with little to no evidence, often confusing similarity with sameness. That is, they assume that because two or more things are alike in some respects that they are alike in all respects.
d. Inadequate proof behind assertions
Extremists tend to be very fuzzy about what constitutes proof for their assertions and tend to get caught up in logical fallacies where they assume that a prior event explains a subsequent occurrence simply because of their before-and-after relationship. They tend to project wished-for conclusions and exaggerate the significance of information that confirms their prejudices and discredit or ignore information that contradicts them.
e. Tendency to view opponents and critics as essentially evil
Extremists feel that their opponents hold differing views because they are bad, immoral, dishonest, hateful, cruel, prejudiced, etc. and not merely because they simply disagree, see matters differently, or are mistaken.
f. Dualism worldview
Extremists tend to see the world in terms of absolute good and evil, for them or against them, with no middle ground or intermediate position. All issues are ultimately moral issues of right and wrong, good or bad, with the right and good positions coinciding with their interests. Their slogan is often “Those who are not with me are against me.”
g. Tendency to argue by intimidation
Extremists tend to frame their arguments in such a way as to intimidate others into accepting their premises and conclusions. To disagree with them is to ally oneself with the devil or to give aid and comfort to the enemy. They tend to be very judgmental and moralizing, allowing them to define the parameters of the debate by keeping their opponents on the defensive.
h. Use of slogans, buzzwords, and thought-stopping clichés
For many extremists, shortcuts in thinking and in reasoning matters out seem necessary to avoid troublesome facts and compelling counterarguments. Simple slogans substitute for more complex abstractions.
i. Assumption of moral superiority over others
The most obvious assumptions are claims of racial or ethnic superiority—a master race. Less obvious are claims of ennoblement because of alleged victimhood, a special relationship with God, or membership in a special or elite class and a kind of aloof high-minded snobbishness that accrues because of the weightiness of their preoccupations, their altruism, and their willingness to sacrifice themselves (and others) to their cause.
j. Doomsday thinking
Extremists often predict dire or catastrophic consequences from a situation or from a failure to follow a specific course, and they tend to exhibit a kind of crisis- mindedness. It can be a Communist takeover, a Nazi revival, nuclear war, earthquakes, floods, or the wrath of God. Whatever it is, it is just around the corner unless we follow their program and listen to their special insight and wisdom, to which only the truly enlightened have access. For extremists, any setback or defeat is the beginning of the end.
k. Belief that it’s okay to do bad things in the service of a “good” cause
Extremists may deliberately lie or otherwise distort, misquote, slander, defame, or libel their opponents and/or critics; engage in censorship or repression; or undertake violence in special cases. This is done with little or no remorse as long as it is in the service of defeating the Communists, Fascists, or whomever. Defeating an enemy becomes an all-encompassing goal to which other values are subordinate. With extremists, the end justifies the means.
l. Tendency to personalize hostility
Extremists often wish for the personal bad fortune of their enemies and celebrate when it occurs. When a critic or an adversary dies or has a serious illness, a bad accident, or personal legal problems, extremists often rejoice and chortle about how he or she deserved it. For example, right-wing extremists celebrated the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and leftists agonized because George Wallace survived an assassination attempt. In each instance, their hatred was not only directed against ideas, but also against individual human beings.
m. Emphasis on emotional responses, less so on reasoning and logical analysis
Extremists have an unspoken reverence for propaganda, which they may call education or consciousness-raising. Symbolism plays an exaggerated role in their thinking, and they tend to think imprecisely and metaphorically. Effective extremists tend to be effective propagandists. Propaganda differs from education in that the former teaches one what to think, and the latter teaches one how to think clearly.
n. Hypersensitivity and vigilance
Extremists perceive hostile innuendo in even casual and innocuous comments, imagine rejection and antagonism concealed in honest disagreement and dissent, and see latent subversion, anti-Semitism, perversion, racism, disloyalty, and so on in innocent gestures and ambiguous behaviors. Although few extremists are actually clinically paranoid, many of them adopt a paranoid style with its attendant projective mechanisms, hostility, and distrust.
o. Use of supernatural rationales for beliefs and actions
Some extremists, particularly those involved in cults and religious movements, claim some kind of supernatural rationale for their beliefs and actions; their movement or cause, they believe, is ordained or looked upon favorably by God.
p. Advocacy of double standards
Extremists generally tend to judge themselves or their interest group in terms of their intentions, which they tend to view generously, and their critics and opponents by their acts, which they tend to view very critically. They would like you to accept their assertions on faith, but they demand proof for yours.

E. Recruiting Motives
1. Introduction
• The standard hate message has not changed, but it has been packaged differently. Modern extremist groups run the gamut from the politically astute and subtle to the openly violent.
• Nowadays, instead of dressing in sheets or publicly espousing hate messages, many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.
2. Recruiting Motives
a. Military personnel, public officials, and law enforcement officers are actively sought by extremist groups. Extremist leaders seek to recruit members with military experience to exploit their:
• Discipline.
• Knowledge of firearms and explosives.
• Tactical skills.
• Access to weapons and intelligence.
b. In addition, members of extremist groups like the neo-Nazis are joining the military, not to serve their country, but to receive training—specifically with regards to discipline and tactical skills—and to learn how to better defend themselves and their ideals.
c. Young extremists are encouraged by leaders to enlist in the military to gain access to weapons, training, and other military personnel. Some extremist groups even provide advice to their members on how to respond to questions from military recruiters.
d. Military members are trained to be proficient with weapons, combat tactics, and explosives, to train others in their use, and to operate in a highly disciplined culture that is focused on the organized violence of war. This is why military extremists present an elevated threat to public safety. Even the nonviolent activities of military personnel with extremist tendencies (e.g., possessing literature, researching information via computer) can have detrimental consequences for the good order, discipline, readiness, and cohesion of military units.

Former Trump administration cabinet member Wilbur Ross filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to form a $345 million special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
Ross, who served as former President Donald Trump’s secretary of Commerce, filed to form the Ross Acquisition Corp II and is seeking to raise $345 million, the filing revealed.
Former Trump economic advisor Larry Kudlow, who previously worked for CNBC, will join Ross as director of the committee.
A SPAC can raise money from investors to be used for an acquisition of a private company before making it public.
“We are a newly organized blank check company incorporated on January 22, 2021 and formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses, which we refer to throughout this prospectus as our initial business combination,” said the SEC filing.
Ross and his group added that they haven’t yet “identified any business combination target and we have not, nor has anyone on our behalf, initiated any substantive discussions, directly or indirectly, with respect to identifying any business combination target.”
The company furthermore stated that it intends to identify a target business with either all or a substantial portion of its activities in Asia, North America, or Europe.
Ross will serve as the president, chairman, and CEO of the SPAC. Kudlow will serve as the SPAC’s director.
Other top executives include Stephen J. Toy, Nadim Z. Qureshi, Edward A. Snyder, and Lord William Astor—the English businessman and politician who sits as a Conservative hereditary Lord Temporal in the House of Lords and is also a member of the prominent Astor family.

Ben Carson Launches Conservative Think Tank, Calls for ‘Commonsense Solutions’ to America’s Problems

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson announced Wednesday that he has launched a nonprofit think tank named the American Cornerstone Institute.
The institute, according to its website, pursues “commonsense solutions to America’s most pressing issues, while ensuring our country stands firm in support of our founding principles.”
“The American Cornerstone Institute (ACI) is dedicated to promoting and preserving individual and religious liberty, helping our country’s most vulnerable find new hope, and developing methods to decrease the federal government’s role in society and to improve efficiency to best serve ALL our nation’s citizens,” the institute’s mission statement reads, pledging to be “a voice for reason and civility” in a nation that is “increasingly devoid of common sense.”
In a commentary piece on RealClearPolitics, Carson said his think tank will focus on a variety of topics including problems of American urban life, education, religious liberty, and the value of self-efficiency. It will also actively “push and remind” politicians in Washington to allow and encourage local communities to make their own decisions.
“There have been many calls to heal the divide that has polarized our great nation,” the former neurosurgeon and 2016 Republican primary candidate wrote. “Our goal is simple: heal, inspire, and revive America.”
Carson is the latest Trump administration official to start or resume their think tank career. Last month, Washington-based conservative think tank Hudson Institute saw the return of Elaine Chao, who joined the institute in 2016 as a distinguished fellow before she was appointed to lead Trump’s Transportation Department. It also welcomed former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, whom many say is preparing for a potential 2024 presidential bid.

The company’s efforts to reinvent its struggling business model remain laden with uncertainty, but investors have flocked to it in hopes that hedge funds that borrowed and “shorted” large quantities of the stock will be forced to buy the stock back, thus sending its price sky-high.
The GameStop (ticker: GME) price indeed skyrocketed from less than $5 per share in August to $30 in mid-January and then nearly $500 per share at one point last week, before dropping below $90 during trading on Feb. 3.

Well, about an hour ago, I was headed for the grocery store and two large darked-out crew-cab pickups went screaming past. They had police lights going inside the cab and behind the grill. One was white and one was black.
Since then, there has been a lot of helicopter noise.
Incidentally, it would be a fairly direct route from AppleHQ to the airport that wouldn’t be jam-packed with commuters.
The military helicopters have been busy here. Saw two yesterday and one today. I am also hearing a lot more aircraft than normal.
We are on the flight path from Ft Bragg to DC it would seem.
