I just stopped by the TCTH and browsed comments for the latest post. A majority seemed futilitarian. I wonder how long before those people disengage and what a mass shunning of the entire fed gov will look like. How will leftists “govern” if no one gives a rat’s patootie what they think or say or demand? Will it look like blockades until the incompetents are starved out? Will it look like open season? I see the big ugly but don’t know where we are going. All I know is stay straight and steady. Stay within the limits of the law that our own “elites” are ignoring. Leftists have jumped off the cliff.

What vigilantism?
When the government becomes the criminal, does (what would otherwise be called) vigilantism not become the legitimate lawful authority of the People?
Doesn’t it have to?
It’s like a changing of the weights on a balance scale, from one side to the other.
Normally, we give of our sovereign ‘power’ as human beings to the government to maintain order and settle disputes and execute justice against criminals.
When the government is the criminal, by definition the government has repudiated its role — criminals cannot justly enforce law, it is an inherent contradiction.
In such a scenario, the role of law enforcement and justice is returned back to us, back to We the People, like a letter marked “Return to Sender”.
It’s back in our mailbox, whether we want it or not.
The government has forfeited, abdicated it’s lawful role — not only in law enforcement, but in every capacity. All is corrupt.
If there is a single lawful and appropriate role that government is successfully fulfilling today, what would that be?
When the government becomes lawless, when the government fully becomes the criminal, it separates / divorces / excommunicates / repudiates its role in law and law enforcement — so the authority of Law necessarily and automatically reverts to the People from whom it originally came.
In our system of government, We the People vest the government with lawful power and authority.
The government cannot be both law enforcement and lawless.
When the government becomes lawless, that government divests itself of lawful power and authority. That lawful power and authority, that energy, is not destroyed, it is conserved, returning to the People from whence it came.
If lawful authority has been disgorged by the government, violently thrown back at — and onto — the People, then how can those same People, having repossessed their own lawful authority, properly be said to have engaged in vigilantism?
Particularly as it relates to subduing a tyrannical government, and bringing it to heel?

A truly beautiful area, the camera doesn’t really do it justice.
One of the games that the Fiancee and I play with travel is to do subtrips within trips. Technically, we visited Saint Petersburg, Russia as a subtrip to London — because we know London and can easily transition there.
We did Bryce Canyon as a subtrip from Vegas. It was originally supposed to be a Bryce/Zion/Grand Canyon subtrip…..but Bryce Canyon was so impressive, we scrapped the other.
That area is full of drop-dead gorgeous mind-blowing scenery.
One thing that they don’t disclose adequately in most guides is that the rim of Bryce is at about 8,500 feet above sea level (slightly higher than the caldera rim at Crater Lake). Accordingly, walking down trails to the canyon and up again with some water, sweaters, and snacks in a backpack feels like you’ve hauled a 90-pound sack of cement. We do local hikes at near-sea-level that have 600-foot altitude gains (and subsequent losses to get back) and it’s not a huge deal. A 200-foot hike into the canyon should be respected.
Crater lake was no special issue for me (and Bryce wouldn’t be), because I already live at nearly 7000 feet. I was able to hike down from the rim to where the boat goes to Wizard island…but alas was one week too early to take the damn boat!!! (They were testing it.) Going back up was painful because I have some sort of weird issue with my calves knotting up hiking up hill. (I don’t remember what the doctors called it.) But I did make it. (And I think it’s a 750 foot drop.)
But it’s not obvious when you’re there that you’re over 2 klicks about sea level! After all your feet are planted on the ground.
That’s why a lot of athletes train at elevation — it ain’t nothin’ if you’re used to it.
The thing with your calves — (a) do you supplement potassium? (b) have you looked into shoe inserts?
And, yes, the biggest problem is mental — of you’re on the rim of Bryce and go down to the slope, every part of your hike is likely above 8,000 feet — despite starting where things are “flat” and going DOWN.
It’s something called compartment syndrome. Not potassium related.

PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — South Dakota’s governor issued her first veto of the 2021 legislative session Friday. And it was a doozy.
Republican Kristi Noem wants state lawmakers to make big changes in HB 1217 that originally sought to prohibit athletes who were born males from participating in female sports in K-12 and public colleges. She is calling it a “style and form” veto but wants several sections removed and other sections altered.
Her news release explaining the veto is here. She wants legislators to eliminate the restriction that was sought on the state’s public universities and, in the views of some of the bill’s supporters, water down it enough to make it almost meaningless.

(Certainly not all as we are reminded by Biden/Harris and their horrific foreign policy and open borders, climbing gas prices and economy that stalled in job creation upon their entry into the WH.)
here in TN, the Mayors (both county and city) have decided mask mandates and, to some extent, business closings, public events and, along with school boards, public school policies. I would wager that the majority of those in TN are in Memphis and Nashville and those policies are due to the city (and perhaps county) mayors v. the governors. This may be true in other states as well.
We see the power of local politics in our schools and therefore in our voting coworkers and neighbors 10-15 yrs hence. National politics is critical and yet so much power is in taking care of our own backyards of our towns, counties and nearby larger counties and cities + our states.

This has created obvious differences in counties next door to each other. Davidson (Nashville) is the Blue county in a sea of red but Williamson (Brentwood, Franklin, etc) is somewhat pink and has had rules and mandates almost more like Davidson than Maury County (the next county further south from Davidson after Williamson).
On a side note: The Maury County Mayor (not the city mayor) has made a name for himself by refusing to have a county wide mask mandate among many other issues that he has stood on the righ/conservative side. He is also young and energetic, with the energy to “rescue” Mule Day (a big deal in these parts! ha) and create a substitute when Mule Day was canceled (which was be sad & frustrating for those who enjoy it + another big hit to local businesses). Expect to see him run for statewide office. Many had hoped he would run for gov in the GOP primary coming quickly in 2022. Now, I wonder with the release of this very disappointing poll:

When my twin brothers were little, my mom made their food. Whatever we were eating went into a baby food grinder, and that’s what they ate. We still have the egg coddlers someone gave my mother as a shower gift. Those two had a coddled egg for breakfast from the time they could tolerate them.

My mom would always put summer squashes through that. It wasn’t til I was on my own that I discovered that you could cut them up & fry them w/ onions & garlic instead of basically make them into baby food!
We had a “little oscar” food processor. It could maybe hold one cup. We’d put some of our food in & grind it up for our babies too 🙂
One thing about food mills is that they work on a slightly different principle than food processors (or grinders). They work best on things that are slightly “springy” (like potatoes). When you force potatoes through the holes under pressure, they “puff” as the pressure is released. Food processors, like blenders, slice things smaller and smaller until they appear liquid.
You can get nice hand-held potato ricers for small quantities — I’ve got one similar to

Starch potatoes (best for baked potatoes and mashed potatoes) would get soft around the edges in chunks in soup and eventually dissolve into the soup. Russets (2) If you over-work starch anything, including potatoes, it slowly devolves into paste. You want to use your mill or ricer, do a quick mix with flavoring, and serve — it comes out of the ricer at the perfect consistency and doing anything to it afterwards accelerates its transformation into goo. It’s even worth considering running your flavoring — herbs, garlic, whatever — through the ricer with the potatoes and not stirring at all.

I think those feelings are quite ubiquitous, especially since Jan 6 & 20. It’s evil & should have been impossible to steal America from her red-blooded patriots. I really hope there are actually “white hats” dispensing justice behind the scenes but confoundingly it seems unlikely at this point.
It’s like those “learned helplessness” experiments of dispensing electric shocks randomly to dogs who “learned” that there was nothing they could do to escape the pain, even when the shocks could be avoided. They torture train us to expect injustice & deceit–evil.

It is the Orthodox Jews that are written about in the article.
Orthodox Jews in New York City were specifically targeted by De Blasio last year — they refused to “obey” his diktats about no large gatherings, etc. So he closed down their businesses, their Synagogues, their religious schools, banned gatherings for weddings and funerals, etc. But they continued to defy him. So De Blasio sent the NYPD to their homes to “warn” them and arrest them.
Jared Kushner is an Modern Orthodox Jew. Kushner, along with his wife, Ivanka Trump (who converted to Orthodox Judaism to marry him), were at the center of the First Step Act that POTUS 45 Donald Trump signed, which freed many prisoners from their sentences and gave them a second chance.

Sidney is not representing herself and her lawyers do not want to fight it out in court and through investigations. They want it immediately dismissed so I guess she agreed to this line of arguement or her lawyers wouldn’t have gone forward, right?

IIRC, Kristi took numerous beatings early in the Covid hysteria, as Kristi Noem led SD. Noem staunchly stood for Freedom, Personal Responsibility…MORE THAN ANY OTHER STATE. Including FL. And I think DeSantis is superb.

Another people watching report……… went to one of the kid’s birthday dinner out. Here in San Diego we’ve been able to eat outside for months and now inside.
So we were there and there was a large kid soccer team eating there.
The thing I saw was very discouraging. All adults had no masks. The kids had their masks down while eating but almost all voluntarily wore them while playing around.
Even my grandsons pulled their’s back up while we sat talking until I reminded them they didn’t have to wear them.
The peer pressure and societal expectations has taken root. A year of this crap has done so much damage, no wonder they want to keep it up by setting illegals loose
I did inspections in four school districts in central Colorado. 3 of 4 had masks optional essentially. Wear them if you want. One had the standard requirements. Temp checks, questionnaire, masks required etc.
Seeing a change overall, less enforcement, low hanging masks etc. Dam is cracking.
I sure hope so.
They stopped taking daily temperatures (in school) this week here so at least there’s that.
Ive seen it. I put mine down bc i cant breathe and people freak out. There are cute shirts wuth coordinating masks you can buy. Although, went to Wal-Mart and most masks were clearancing out, without new ones coming in.
Kiddo has several art classes coming up and they were mask nazis the last couple times. I dont know if theyll be mellow now.
