And many people, very many, have been deceived: first by convincing them to grant rights to those who share neither our Faith nor our values, then by making them feel almost guilty for the fact of being Catholic, for their ideas, for their past. Today we have reached the point of being barely tolerated as retrogrades and fanatics, while there are those who would like to make it a crime to do what has constituted the basis of civilized life for millennia and declare every behavior against God, against nature and against our identity not only licit but obligatory.

With President Trump I decided I could trust him when he got to DC and that he was not blackmailable about women because of his known lifestyle.

Trump not only had a lot in 2016 – he GAINED so much in 4 years, there was no way to lose – other than the other side pretending en masse, using their controlled media and rigged elections, that he HAD lost. But in the process, the media, the riggers, and even the Biden administration LOST so much trust, they now run this nation against the will of the People.
It is my belief that we cannot vote our way out of communism – and that includes the current Demmunism. However, we must proceed as if we CAN vote our way out, until that moment when the Chinese puppet government falls.
From my perspective, I think the democrats are the dog that catches the bus. They are terrified of the likely consequences of their own actions. And so they escalate evil, and escalate evil until the point when they must spontaneously combust from the weight of their own lies and treason. The Biden installation is still responsive to the disgust and mocking of the people. They still react when so many point out their foolishness and failures. In this, I maintain hope. I believe they think we can vote our way back to sanity.
In my opinion, they will just panic to one of CIA’s next “off-the-shelf” crises. Probably a stronger and more dangerous plague from China.

Exactly! Inner party people are there because they “passed” the blackmail test. IOW, they freely gave up the goods in order to get in. And they get a free pass unless they need to be sacrificed, but they know that, too.

For those not of a certain age….
There used to be these things called “mimeograph machines”. They fit into a peculiar process. First, you typed an original using a special form — it was like typing two copies with carbon paper, but it used a waxy goo that left a waxy imprint of each letter on the back of the paper.
You then tore off the excess goo paper backing and had an “original”. you’d take it to your mimeograph and clamp it onto a cylinder about six inches across, and load in a stack of paper. When you hand-cranked the machine, the original would be wet with a solvent (that smelled to high heaven) that would soften the waxy goo on your original. As the cylinder came around to the proper place, it would engage a sheet of paper off the stack and press it into contact with the cylinder, transferring an image of the letters onto the new sheet.
When you cranked the lever further, it would wet the original again, seize another sheet, and make another copy — depositing it on the previous copy, which hopefully had dried.
The entire process stank — the goo and the solvent were both annoying, sticky, and stinky. Stuff got smeared. Originals wore out after 60 copies. Much of this cr*p was flammable.
But it was tightly controlled in Soviet Russia. Because people could use it to counter official sources of information. Xerox-type machines were also highly regulated. Secretive use of same was known as “samizdat” — low-volume “publication” of information — often to only 30-50 people — that was NOT APPROVED.
Nowadays, at the moment, it is so easy — an entire movie can be loaded on a micro-SD card the size of a thumbnail and passed around…..but only if you have a copy of the movie that YouTube cannot censor.
I loved the smell of freshly mimeographed pages as a kid.

We had these in school. There were red, blue and green variants, and tests and other handouts could be in any of the colors, no real system to that. The machine itself sat in its own little room off from the main hallway on the first floor. It was hand-cranked, and had a counter showing how many copies were made, that way it was easy to ensure that there were enough copies for the whole class.
The solvent used was ethanol, according to the bottle the stuff came in. With some additions so no-one would want to drink it.
And the print was purple.
Ditto machines is what the slang was. And it smelled like school.

I found a whole slew of Woldesenbets in the U.S., and they all have weird first names. I found one immigration record, from Egypt. And somebody found a doctor with ties to India and Ethiopia with this exact name.

I’m pretty sure I’m being suppressed. I’m getting notices of groups of followers anywhere from 3-10 at a time daily now. Before there would be random one or two people every so often.
Currently I can follow about anyone, they lifted that restriction after that big purge, but my following numbers keep dropping as they unfollow me from people I want to hear from. I had been over 5000 & am now around 4500, so they probably undo like maybe 100 a day.

Russian literature is an acquired taste, I believe, but it is unsurpassed in beauty and understanding, as well as art.
Their cultural perspective is quite enlightening as to the human condition. I can get bogged down in their complex nomenclature in keeping characters straight, who can be called by several different types of names, many of which seem unpronounceable. I had that extreme challenge years back when tackling Crime & Punishment during my 1st pregnancy…
I think I bogged down shortly into volume 2.
I do remember his description of the language used by common criminals; it parallels our society nicely.
Apparently the version I got is an abridged format aimed at American audiences. Can really only process the horrors a few pages at a time. Too many parallels to what is going on now, or where we seem to be heading at breakneck speed…
If I recall correctly the vast majority of the book (which is actually three very long volumes, at least in the version I have) describes what life was like for him in the Gulag system.
We either don’t have one of those (yet!) or we don’t know about it if we do.
1984, on the other hand, largely deals with daily live *outside* of the thought police’s prison/reform system so it seems more to-the-present-point, at least for me, as I see “them” instituting so many of those methods of mind-control. In fact Winston Smith’s *job* was to help them do it.
Good summation. From reading the intro to GA it is comprised of snippets of info from nearly 300 sources & some of it is AS’s personal experience. It’s so horrifying as to seem a fantastic fictional tale. I’m having a failure of imagination as to the depths of depravity people are capable of inflicting on each other.
1984 seems to be coming to life all around us & it’s mind-boggling. Perhaps it’s the frog in the pot scenario, they keep turning up the heat slowly enough that many people won’t wake up to the fact that they are being boiled alive, until it’s almost too late! God help us all around!

The Buffalo area (where I live) has a long tradition of music, and so we have many superb musicians who play for the love of playing. There are a number of venues where you can hear music on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, or even weekday afternoons. That is wonderful for old guys like me, and the places are always packed, by old folks as well as young, even in the afternoon.
What a bitter pill to realize the CCP and its American allies took that simple pleasure away from us.

If someone else wants to check out their “wild claims” in the hopes that one will turn out to be true, good on them, I suppose. Everyone needs a hobby. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has launched efforts to create a vaccine that would protect people from most flu strains, all at once, with a single shot.
Over the years, I’ve written many articles refuting claims that vaccines are safe and effective, but we’ll put all that aside for the moment and follow the bouncing ball.
Massachusetts Senator and big spender, Ed Markey, has introduced a bill that would shovel no less than a billion dollars toward the universal flu-vaccine project.
Here is a sentence from an NIAID press release that mentions one of several research approaches:
“NIAID Vaccine Research Center scientists have initiated Phase 1/2 studies of a universal flu vaccine strategy that includes an investigational DNA-based vaccine (called a DNA ‘prime’)…”
This is quite troubling, if you know what the phrase “DNA vaccine” means. It refers to what the experts are touting as the next generation of immunizations.
Instead of injecting a piece of a virus into a person, in order to stimulate the immune system, synthesized genes would be shot into the body. This isn’t traditional vaccination anymore. It’s gene therapy.
In any such method, where genes are edited, deleted, added, no matter what the pros say, there are always “unintended consequences,” to use their polite phrase. The ripple effects scramble the genetic structure in numerous unknown ways.
This is genetic roulette with a loaded gun. Anyone and everyone on Earth injected with a DNA vaccine will undergo permanent and unknown genetic changes…
Here is the inconvenient truth about DNA vaccines—
They will permanently alter your DNA.
The reference is the New York Times, 3/15/15, “Protection Without a Vaccine.” It describes the frontier of research—the use of synthetic genes to “protect against disease,” while changing the genetic makeup of humans. This is not science fiction:
“By delivering synthetic genes into the muscles of the [experimental] monkeys, the scientists are essentially re-engineering the animals to resist disease.”
“’The sky’s the limit,’ said Michael Farzan, an immunologist at Scripps and lead author of the new study.”
“The first human trial based on this strategy — called immunoprophylaxis by gene transfer, or I.G.T. — is underway, and several new ones are planned.” [That was three years ago.]

Read that again: “the synthetic gene is incorporated into the recipient’s own DNA.”

Not just a “visit.” Permanent residence. And once a person’s DNA is changed, he will live with that change—and all the ripple effects in his genetic makeup—for the rest of his life.
The Times article taps Dr. David Baltimore for an opinion:
“Still, Dr. Baltimore says that he envisions that some people might be leery of a vaccination strategy that means altering their own DNA, even if it prevents a potentially fatal disease.”

If you’re a registered voter, you are expected to vote by mail and no ID need be shown…they’ll supposedly validate your signature. If you’re not registered to vote, you get to vote a provisional ballot.
You CAN go to a polling place (not your precinct–precincts don’t set up) on or before election day and vote in person…at which point, the voter ID law does come into play.
But you don’t need to show a photo ID. ANY form of ID, including ones with no picture, are accepted. In fact, they’ll even accept a utility bill.
One time, back before we went mail-in, I used my pilot’s license to vote. No picture. It took them a while to look and see that it was an acceptable form of ID, at which point they took it. I was doing this to illustrate the absurdity of the rules.

Yeah, I have very mixed feelings about this. My thoughts are probably a bit non-standard, but I am far from “rehabilitating” Judas.
There is an outlier viewpoint that “somebody had to do the dirty job” (the same can be argued for Satan, of course), but I just don’t find that compelling.

Well, I got my good news of the day. My blood work came back from the doc, and all is awesome.
Vitamin D level was 98. “Normal” is between 30 and 100. I’ll take that high end. Cholesterol was fantastic. Blood glucose, too.
The hilarious part is the tone of the doctor’s voice. She just can’t believe I’m 56 and that healthy. She must see a LOT of unhealthy people.
I, of course, thanked God immediately for my blessings.
She’s a doc. Of course she sees a lot of unhealthy people. Just like a car mechanic doesn’t see many cars that run properly.

If I go try on glasses, the pads are so far apart I wonder if anyone has a European axe-blade of a nose any more.
My dad has sort of a roman eagle beak of a nose, while my mom has a broader nose with balls at the tip and corners…..so I ended up with a large, deep, broad nose with balls at the tip and corners.
Having just two pads try to make sense of this is good for holding lenses.

(1) Do allies during joint exercises ever land on our carriers (being that there aren’t many chances for anyone else to do so).
(2) Are they even equipped to make carrier landings (e.g. are tailhooks standard equipment on US jets sold to allies without carriers)?
(3) Is there a way of landing a non-carrier fighter on a carrier that doesn’t involve the jet’s demise?
I know British carriers mainly used Harriers which are VTOL so they could land on a US carrier as they do not need to do arrested landings. Not sure if any NATO type forces have carriers with CATS to launch. French maybe.
It’s just that I saw this thing about doing joint exercises with an ally in the South China Sea and it mentioned our having a carrier group there, and it got me thinking — it’s not like anyone else is going to have a carrier, why not do joint exercises out of one of their airbases? Could an out-of-fuel ally do any sort of arrested landing on a carrier that would end up with an intact plane and pilot? Could the plane be stashed below, or would it have to be scuttled? Would there be a point to do touch-and-go exercises on a carrier deck?
Possible. The only back up they have is the net across the deck for an emergency landing. Plane and pilot could make it. Depends on the weight of the jet.
