Thy Will Be Done
“Thy will be done” is one of the requests in the Lord’s Prayer. In part, Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9–10). Jesus Himself pleaded for God’s will to be done in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Prior to His crucifixion, Jesus prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will” (Matthew 26:39). Jesus was committed to seeing God’s will accomplished, and the prayer “Thy will be done” was a theme of His life.
Most simply, to pray, “Thy will be done,” is to ask God to do what He desires. Of course, we’re praying to the God who said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3), so we know that
His sovereign decree will be accomplished,
whether or not we pray for it.
But there is another aspect of God’s will, which we call His “revealed” will or “preceptive” will. This is God’s “will” that He has revealed to us but that He does not force upon us. For example, it is God’s will that we speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and that we not commit adultery (1 Corinthians 6:18) or get drunk (Ephesians 5:18). When we pray, “Thy will be done,” we are asking God to increase righteousness in the world, to bring more people to repentance, and to further the cause of the kingdom of His Son.
When we pray, “Thy will be done,” we acknowledge God’s right to rule. We do not pray, “My will be done”; we pray, “Thy will be done.” Asking that God’s will be done is a demonstration of our trust that He knows what is best. It is a statement of submission to God’s ways and His plans. We ask for our will to be conformed to His.
The Lord’s Prayer begins by acknowledging God as Father in heaven. Jesus then models petition, presenting three requests to the Father: 1) That God would cause His name to be hallowed; in other words, as Albert Mohler explains, “that God would act in such a way that he visibly demonstrates his holiness and his glory” (The Prayer That Turns the World Upside Down: The Lord’s Prayer as a Manifesto for Revolution, p. 61). 2) That God would bring His kingdom to earth; that is, that the preaching of the gospel would convert sinners into saints who walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and that God would rid the world of evil and create the new heavens and new earth where God will dwell with His people and there will be no more curse and no more death (see Revelation 21—22). 3) That God’s will would be done “on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). In heaven, the angels perform God’s desire completely, joyfully, and immediately—what a world this would be if humans acted like that!
As a point of clarification, “Thy will be done” is not an impassive prayer of resignation. Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane was not passive or fatalistic in the least; He bared His heart before the Father and revealed His ultimate desire: for God’s will to be accomplished. Praying, “Thy will be done,” acknowledges that God has more knowledge than we do and that we trust His way is best. And it is a commitment to actively work to further the execution of God’s will.
Romans 12:1–2 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Understanding who God is, we submit ourselves to Him and allow Him to transform us. The more we know God, the more readily our prayers will align with His will and we can truly pray, “Thy will be done.” We can approach God in confidence that “if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14–15).
By faith, we know that praying,
“Thy will be done,”
is the best thing we can ask for.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen” (Ephesians 3:20–21).

From his map, it looks as if a lot of Florida counties are yellow and red. We need official audits of every state, and down-ballot races need to be corrected as well.

People can so easily being duped by the promises that sound so good. Young people want to be taken care off because parents did for too long. Communism seems the answer for them without really understanding what it is in real life and what they have to give up to live in the communist paradise.

So, I see this headline from the NY Post with a link — “Lufthansa airline adopts gender-neutral ‘guests’ greeting” — and I casually think, “that’s going to be interesting for an airline whose native language has three genders for EVERYTHING.”
I finally got around to “circling back” to the article — https://nypost.com/2021/07/15/lufthansa-airline-adopts-gender-neutral-guests-greeting/ [looks like H/T Insty] — and it includes this gem: “Not only context but country will also significantly impact how exactly flight crew phrase their greetings, as ‘the issue of gender-neutral language varies from country to country’ a Lufthansa spokesperson said.
While most English nouns do not have a gender, that is not the case for German, French, Spanish and Italian nouns, making for a variety of linguistic variables. Lufthansa said it will adjust greetings depending on ‘whether gender-neutral language is already being used in the various countries and is already made possible by responsible institutions (such as the German Spelling Council).'”
This also strongly suggests that such spectacularly stupid ideas can only arise in English-speaking groups.

So essentially there will have be some sort of semester long collage level training involved in how to extend a greeting. Dependent of course on your passing other prerequisite courses that qualify you to take that course, which will be geared toward you being able to pass your certification test to gain a state approved greeting license.

“Guten Abend” (or “Guten Tag”) are gender neutral, at least insofar as you’re not assigning a gender to the person that you are addressing, which is the big “sin” they’re trying to avoid–they call it “assuming gender” and in looking it up I even found an article scolding people for assuming that there IS a gender because, apparently, some people are “agender.”
Layer on top of this the fact that the correct term to describe this issue is actually “sex” (they avoid it because of association with “sexual intercourse” which invariably gets abbreviated down to “sex”), and the absurdity just goes up exponentially.
Lufthansa is in an alliance (Star Alliance?) with four (or maybe more) other airlines, the largest of which is United Airlines, who I suspect is behind this madness.
People over here are up in arms about “Gendersprache”, which started out with the “Binnen I” (e.g. SchulerInnen, as opposed to Schulerinnen und Schuler) that now has been replaced by either an asterisk (Schuler*nnen) to denote Male, Female, or TooStupidToKnow), and, finally, at witlesses end, the Doppelpunkt (aka colon, which pretty much describes what they are), i.e. Schuler:nnen, so that even more bizarre forms of idiocy are not left out.
We already have three “genders” in our language, and the rules determining which word gets what gender are just as off the wall as the gender-benders trying to make things even more complex or idiotic or both.
I suspect this will eventually boil over, as the airlines are busy trying to recover from a HUGE loss of business, ramp up their personnel, and a thousand other issues which make Gendersprache, erm, pale by comparison…
Fortunately we don’t have as zealous a body as the French do, the Académie Française, which from time to time dooms some words to the dustbin of history (erm, histoire), while creating new ones to replace the borrowed words which it finds offensive. Of course, Le Frogs have gotten used to using them (especially IT lingo), and are loath to replace them…

I took enough German and Russian to have been exposed to both languages’ gender systems.
German’s is particularly obnoxious because you can’t tell from the word, what it is; you’re forced to memorize words with the definite article (der Tisch, die Wurst, das Hund) [How did sausage get to be feminine??? Oh well, the French word for penis is feminine so it could be worse.] At least in Russian you can almost always just look at the word ending (consonant–masculine a-feminine, o-neuter) though there are a handful of “cross dresser” nouns.
And German case endings…that appear on the articles–are almost useless; there’s only one difference between nominative and accusative. der->den. On the other hand Russian masculine accusive looks just like feminine nominatve and is done to proper names; so you can’t tell whether “Gorbacheva” is Mrs. Gorbachev in the nominative or Mr. Gorbachev in the accusative, without context (and if you can get it from context, why the f*ck assume the brain damage of dealing with inconsistent endings?).
I always thought that the folly of referring to available lassies as neuter was probably at the root of much of German angst.
(Frau and Magd — Mrs. and Maid — are both feminine. But the popular terms for young beauties are diminutive forms of these — Fräulein and Mädchen — and diminutives are neuter.)
Yeah, I remember “das Mädhen” and attributed it to being “pre pubescent,” but I didn’t remember it as “das Fräulein.” A rule like “diminutives are neuter” makes that all make sense (once you realize it’s a diminutive; I was taught it was simply the word). A good language teacher knows the language well enough to explain such oddities so that they make some sense (that helps you remember, too, or it does if you’re me).
An “ideal” language, I think, would have the full gender set of pronouns, plus a third person pronoun that means “unspecified” (so you could use it in general cases instead of “he” or (worse in some ways) “they”) and would have NO assignment of gender to inanimate objects.
THAT peculiarity of (most) Indo European tongues, I believe, comes from a likely older system where all nouns were in different “classes” based on who-knows-what criterion; those classes behave like gender does in continental languages. Many non-IE languages have “classes” like that, in one instance there is a class for round objects and another class for long objects and other classes accordingly.
I am thinking in proto indoeuropean some sort of shift happened where all actual male things ended up in one class and all actual female things ended up in a different class, both along with a bunch of inanimate objects. Other classes were purely inanimate objects, and those were “neuter.” Then the classes became “genders” because we assigned importance to the people and critters in those classes, and voila, now sausages are female.
Of course as IE broke up and became a bunch of different languages, it was not surprising that inanimate objects might occasionally jump gender (and words for new things [did Indo-Europeans have tables yet?] could be assigned basically at random to a gender, so two already separate languages will likely do different things).

The CEO Evan Hafer then says he would PAY those bad right-wingers to leave his customer base.
That right there tells me this was never about building a business. It was about building another database of veterans and conservative customers, and keeping tabs on them.

I’m halfway through that video, and it is excellent. Dr. Zelenko explains things clearly, with backing by science, and without hype or claims that strain credulity. He is completely credible. I was struck not only by what you posted about Dr. Z notifying PDJT about HCQ and how that got thwarted, but also that Dr. Z treated Rudy Giuliani, Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, and others.
Near the beginning, he explains in simple terms the importance of zinc and how its absorption needs to be enhanced by zinc ionophores like HCQ and ivermectin. A natural, over-the-counter ionophore is quercetin. Getting more zinc into the cells can inhibit the replication of RNA viruses.
Dr Hatfield worket with Trump also free of charge and Fauci CDC and others did their own thing. He was on Bannon and told the story.

So there are a built in 50-60 fraudulent delegates prepared to vote for Kevin Faulconer once David Reade, Tom Ross, Jeff Randle and the others filching thousands off of the machine get their way with the jam-down. Given that no more than 1200 will vote – this fraud stakes Faulconer to 4-5% of the vote right out of the gate.
What is the Jam-Down? This is sidestepping the CAGOP’s By-Laws once again to amend them in violation of the by-laws in order to facilitate a 50% threshold endorsement. But wait, there’s more – every candidate HAS TO GET 200 DELEGATE SIGNATURES just to be eligible. This is the provision of the feckless Fred Whitaker by-law amendment that is not getting attention. Since a delegate can only sign for one candidate, this effectively limits the universe to 7 candidates maximum for a potential endorsement.
I have some theories why the CAGOP’s leadership are whoring out the CAGOP to Faulconer and they all lead back to money. The CAGOP will get kickbacks from the money the handful of donors Faulconer has will run through the party. These donors will be able to donate 3-4 additional times direct to the party.
Kevin Faulconer can not win without the CAGOP endorsement because he needs the cut rate advertising that is allowed with such an arrangement and it will also allow those donors to pour money in.
There is also what I believe to be a sinister angle. The CAGOP leadership that are whoring out the CAGOP to Faulconer did not support the recall and came kicking and screaming only when it appeared to be eminent to qualify. I believe they want the recall to fail. By flipping off the grassroots and telling them to get lost, then jamming down the CAGOP endorsement they accomplish two goals: money to make up for Patterson’s failure to raise enough money to pay the CAGOP’s basic bills and they get to kill the pesky recall that upset their plans for 2022.”

As a deacon was was visiting the sick often while anointing laying on hands the person was healed after some weeks I found out. People said they healed after I left. I am keenly aware it was not that I healed God used me as a vessel. I cannot do anything without the power of God.

I suspect that at one time it was 100% magic of an impermissible type. And, certainly, a large amount of dowsing practitioners today are flakes, grifters, and calling upon powers not theirs in impermissible ways.
But I also know that we generally observe a small fraction of what our senses report to us — and that our unconscious mind can sometimes correlate such information before our conscious mind can.
There are many possible sources of data regarding water levels — especially 5-20 feet underground. Types of vegetation, health of vegetation, perhaps the smell of the earth (which would be effected by the types and depths of bacteria and fungi working below), where insects congregate (or avoid) — and this is just scratching the surface (as it were).
I suspect that a pair of razors like Hanlon’s and Aubergine’s should be considered here — “never ascribe to supernatural elements what may be explained by commonplace circumstances”; and “it is dangerous to ascribe to science that which may be the result of evil.”
That said, I don’t think all of what is called dowsing today in English is the impermissible sort in the original Biblical text. Otherwise, a whole lot of petroleum geologists are going to have a sadz.
My two cents, which others might disagree with, which is okay.
IMO, too many Christians discount the natural energy of the earth and related phenomena as evil because they don’t understand it or can’t quantify it in concrete terms. (I’m not in the least advocating for ocult practices like whatever they do with crystals, crystal balls, fortune telling, pendulums, and the like.) I’m talking about the earth and science, the natural magnetic forces, and other natural phenomena that geologists and scientists understand better than I — though our human understanding is incomplete.
John MacArthur equates dowsing with divination, lumping it in with many ocult practices, like the example he gives of the “pendulum practitioner” who found the man who had committed suicide. IMO, that is clearly of the occult. My point is that some equate dowsing with divination. How do we know that correctly applies and that there is not a science-based explanation that we don’t yet understand?
I’m not advocating for dowsing, and I agree that we have to be extremely cautious. I’m saying there is a lot we don’t know about science. People have been ruined and killed throughout history for being way ahead of their time in both medicine and science.
I read of a dowser who made some kind of gestures over a map and marked a spot on the map, which led them to water. IMO, this is occult because it was clearly not a connection with the earth itself.
I did a little research and found the same mindset as exists in medicine. If the establishment doesn’t endorse it, it must be discarded. And then within Christianity, one must be warned: this is a stepping stone into the occult, one can be blindly led with good intentions into such an occult practice, the fact that it sometimes works is what reels you in, the devil is deceptive, etc. All true. And if there are studies that show it can work at times, that is seen as evidence of how we can be deceived. And yet, the little rods at my house indicated where the water was flowing out of the pipes, underground. I believe it was simply due to a natural phenomenon that we might not be able to name yet and that it has nothing to do with the occult. I know I don’t.
I’ll stick with mistranslation — otherwise, anyone keeping records at a track and field meet is damned as “an observer of times.”

I completely agree about the Bible’s forbidding divination. Dowsing has been explained to me as not being supernatural, but about the natural energy of the earth. A neighbor once found a water leak in my yard by holding a piece of a clothes hanger straight out in each hand. At one point the metal pieces moved toward each other, and that was where he dug, and it was where the water leak was. There was nothing supernatural about it; it was just an energetic process, which to me is part of God’s creation.
That said, I imagine there are dousers who invoke spirits, and I imagine it is ripe for fraud, just like anything else. I would not hire someone to do the process because I would not know their motivation, but I trusted my neighbor. He was able to do a quick, inexpensive fix that would have cost much more money and headache if someone had had to blindly dig.
That’s what I’ve always been told it was, not that it was voodoo. Maybe the term water witching confuses people ?

I’d said that Jörg Kachelman, a weather forecaster and sometime skeptic had excoriated the German and local goverments for negligence and not heeding the warnings and forecasts given them. Now it seems that more and more information (and a scandal, TPTB making hay from a disaster of their own creation) is coming out.

Random thought about Black Rifle Coffee Company. It was founded by a former CIA contractor (Evan Hafer) and their executive Vice President is also former CIA (Mat Best). First, there’s no such thing as “former CIA”, so it should be considered a spook company. But for what purpose? 5 month old infant DIES while breast feeding from mother. ‘Patient received second dose of pfizer vaccine on march 17, 2020 while at work. march 18, 2020 her 5 month old breastfed infant developed a rash and within 24 hours was inconsolable, refusing to eat, and developed a fever. patient brought baby to local er where assessments were performed, blood analysis revealed elevated liver enzymes. infant was hospitalized but continued to decline and passed away. diagnosis of ttp. no known allergies. no new exposures aside from the mother’s vaccination the previous day.’

We would not be where we are today (with election audits) if Peter Navarro and Rudy Giuliani didn’t stand in the breach immediately after November 3 and push an election investigation forward. Good catch! We have those markers all over the place, underpasses, dams, anywhere there’s a chance of high water. There’s one particularly obnoxious one by the Stuttgart Airport on an underpass going under the A8. When that fills up (which it does from time to time) it’s all but impossible to get to the Airport… what were they thinking? Or were they even thinking….
Pierre Gosselin over at NoTricksZone has a couple of articles on it. The weather folks here (not the talking heads) are FURIOUS; even the DWD (German Weather Service) are saying attributing this to Gore-Bull Warming is false, that this is WEATHER (I’m gobsmacked that they would put it that way; normally they invert that phrase).
Armin Laschet, ministerpräsident of Nordrhein-Westphalen, where this happened, just vomited out the most tortured, indigestible doughball of phraseology I’ve ever had the mistfortune to read, somehow combining global warming, CORONA, and other issues together and then putting the blame on the people of NRW (as opposed to the politicos who sat by while the water built up. It’s almost as if he wants to lose the election, or destroy his party, the CDU…
