And, on try #3, got the Fiancee’s computer to complete the update from 18.3 “Sylvia” to 19.1 “Tara”.
Problem is the original scheme had a boot partition with room for only two kernels. Typically, you have the kernel you are running, plus one slightly older spare. But when you do a version update, it often wants to load its own favored kernel…..and there’s not really enough room for three.
If I’d thought about it in advance, I could have used the cool kernel management tool to sort things out….but discovering this halfway through the upgrade wasn’t very nice.
The “uname -a” command will tell you what is running, then you have to run in behind the upgrade program and get rid of all the other kernels in the boot partition. Fortunately, I have plenty of bootable DVDs if I got into too much trouble.
Ran a backup, re-sorted kernels, and it’s now going to 19.3 “Tricia”.
Doing the reboot — hopefully wakes up as “Tricia”.
OK, rebooted as “Tricia”….lost niceties looking scraggly. It’s after midnight, so I’m not going to press on to 20.1 “Ulyssa” tonight.
I’d have to run another backup, reshuffle kernels again, and do some sanity checks before it would be a good idea to press on.

Why Sexual Morality May be Far More Important than You Ever Thought
Actually, I’m not at all sure that he is seeing what he thinks he is seeing. There has long been huge distinction between overt chastity and covert license. I would question whether it is actual sexual morality that leads to success or downfall, or rather the erasure of distinction between overt and covert. Many successful and long-lived empires have had concubines and courtesans.
Imma thinking it was sexual licence for all and breakdown of family units. Male rulers and nobility have always spread their genes about. Perks of power.
Complicated subject as it goes back to the first cities and first major religions. In Mesopotamia from where most of our culture stems, it ends up on Inanna’s door step which means it ends up on Enheduanna ‘s door step since she, as Sargon the Great’s daughter, was the one that elevated Inanna status.
Inanna’s status as a goddess had it’s ups and downs, but did not wane until the coming of Christianity, which means it lasted as long as Christianity has today since she was first mainstreamed circa 2300 BC. First known as Innana’s, then Ishtar, followed by Astarte, and finally as Aphrodite. As gods and goddess’s go, they had different aspects. With Inanna her two major aspects dealt with sexuality through sexual rites and power as in war.
Leaders like Hammurabi in Babylon would point to the ancient cites like Ur and Uruk and condemn the free sexual practices that existed there. Some Assyrian’s kings would down grade her cult and then loose a series of battles at which point the goddess’s cult would become elevated again with the next ruler.
There’s much more to discuss on this subject as Enheduanna was a prolific writer (poetry) for her time and the first known author.

I searched for ‘exorcist’ (none) and then ‘exorcists’, and found one example. It didn’t go well for them:

It appears that the ‘vagabond Jews, exorcists’ were not Christians, but priests of the Jews.
I can find no office of ‘exorcist’ for Christians in the New Testament, nor any qualifications given for anyone to be an ‘exorcist’ in the Lord’s church, or anything about exorcists who speak with the Authority of God on matters of chastity and reproduction.

As the Church grew, certain functions became the purview of the priesthood. That said, regular folks are able to pray prayers of deliverance and protection, but not the official exorcism prayers of the Church, which is reserved for the priesthood.
The wandering jews who attempted to cast out demons were obviously doing so without any spiritual authority, and they were shown the door by the demons.
However, there are instances where Jews cast out demons through calling on the names of the Patriarchs. Whether that continued after the time of Christ, I don’t know.

There were certainly priests in the Jewish religion, and every priest had to be a descendant of the tribe of Levi.
But with Christ, the Old Testament was fulfilled and there was a changing of the Law.

There are no qualifications given to be a member of a separate priestly class in New Testament Christianty (or any special clothing to identify one as a ‘priest’), as all Christians are a royal priesthood:

Qualifications are given for positions in the Lord’s church which are approved by God.
For example, there are deacons and elders (a.k.a. bishops) in New Testament Christianity, and the qualifications given by God in order to be a deacon or bishop (a.k.a. elder) are given in two places.
For bishops (a.k.a. elders): 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:5-16
For deacons: 1 Timothy 3:8-13
For both offices, there are aspects which are matters of judgment, and there are requirements that are matters of fact.
Among the requirements of fact to be a bishop (a.k.a. elder) or deacon, things which are necessarily matters of fact, are these:
1) to be a husband of one wife (and therefore the requirement to be a man, a husband is a man)
2) to be the father of at least one child
God is not obligated to give His reasons for any requirements, but in this case, He does:

“(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)” (1 Timothy 3)

These matters of fact with regard to whether a bishop (a.k.a. elder) or deacon is the husband of one wife and has at least one child disqualifies the overwhelming majority of people who call themselves elders (a.k.a. bishops) today, and quite a few who self-identify as deacons.
Not because I say so of course, but because God’s Word says so.
And it is not easy to make the case that one cares what God thinks and follows His Word, while at the same time being in open defiance of His Word.
The reason I brought up the qualifications for deacons and elders was to show that qualifications to hold a position or office in the Lord’s church are quite specific, and given by God.
There are no such corresponding qualifications for a separate priestly-class in the New Testament for Christians.
There was no separate ‘priestly-class’ with special clothing in the 1st century, or among the Apostles.
Jesus did not teach it, the Apostles did not practice any such thing, and there is nothing in God’s Word about it.
Therefore, this practice arose from men, and not of God, and hearkens back to the religion of the Jews (minus the Jewish requirement to be a descendant of the tribe of Levi), and not New Testament Christianity.
Oh, well then.
I will just leave you with a quote by John Henry Newman:

I don’t care if a person is a Protestant, a Catholic, a Jew, a Hindu, or a Pagan. Religion is personal. If a person is a good kind person to me and others, then they can sort out the rest later with God.

I won’t ever fly on a plane without a human pilot. You’d have to be out of your mind.
Same with cars. I don’t even like to be in a car with someone else driving. I’m certainly not going to be riding in a car with nobody driving.
But there’s apparently nothing most people won’t do, with enough brainwashing.
We should try an experiment, to see how many of the sheep would willingly walk into a giant meat grinder, and do it with much virtue-signalling.

It is known that the CCP”Fauci-Mengele” virus “vaccines”, whether the 2-shot or the 1-shot types, all have the virus spike protein in them. The 2-shot Pfizer-BioNTech and the Moderna use the mRNA delivery envelope; the 1-shot Johnson & Johnson use an adenovirus delivery envelope to the recipient’s DNA. It may be assumed that every other “vaccine” for the virus now being used (Sinovac, Coronavac, etc.) is a variation of the above.
It is also known that the spike protein in the “vaccines” is derived from, or is a lab-created synthetic of, at least one snake venom that has many toxic effects, including neurological effects.
It is also known that each of the “vaccines”, once placed in the recipient’s body via injection, contain elements of the virus itself; elements that are delivered to force a surge in the immune response system of the recipient.
So it would appear that the “vaccines” contain elements of the virus, embedded within either an mRNA or an adenovirus DNA envelope, AND are commingled with elements (from nature or lab-grown) of snake venom. One posits that this combination could appear to produce two, possibly separate, reactions in the recipient’s body: One, a huge, forced immune system response against the virus elements; and, Two, potential interference / damage to nerve signals to the brain and/or synapse compromise within the brain (the people “suddenly having a stroke with no previous issues” after getting the “vaccine.”)
It is now also known that the second shot is the one that in many cases, trigger the severe reactions.
The MD who was smart enough to treat this young woman (and one hopes that she will completely recover with no permanent nerve / motor coordination damage) was right — Don’t get the “vaccine”; and, especially, Don’t get the second shot.
Yup! The spike protein SEQUENCE contains a variety of nasty little twists and turns that mimic various trouble-makers (such as snake venoms), but even more, it just causes all kinds of cellular damage by doing its spike protein thing – and THEN the antibodies coming in for the kill – and THEN the leukocytes coming in for the kill – the whole thing is trouble.
Some of this is to be expected – but as we gained knowledge, we did not engage in PROPER SCIENTIFIC FEEDBACK because of CDC POLITICS AND DISHONESTY – which values NUMBERS OVER PEOPLE.
Contraindications should be on an INDIVIDUAL LEVEL FIRST – then escalated to CDC messaging as needed – and that means DOCTORS and PATIENTS need CHOICE.
But that’s not the purpose of forcing a NEEDLESS COLD VACCINE on humanity.
I believe that very smart people high in the system KNEW those side effects – understood the contraceptive aspect – and weaponized the various stupidities to make this all happen as it did. My daughter is the manager of a fairly large convenience store in a regional chain. She told me yesterday they are having trouble getting weird things, and her shelves are emptying.
She said she heard there is an aluminum shortage and a rubber shortage (WTH?).
I don’t think there are real shortages. I think all of this is manufactured.
Anticipating shortages is going to be hard, because I believe it will be totally RANDOM.
So, what to do? I think the best bet is to sit down and figure out the core items you CAN’T do without. Drink coffee? Buy a lot. Need diet Coke? Get a LOT. It’s the weird “but it’s my favorite” things that will demoralize people and they know it.
This recommendation is, of course, over and above having the basics needed for survival, like food and vitamins.
2022 is not soon enough to get on top of this, but the auditors and states trying for them don’t seem to have my sense of urgency. Just get the fucking things done already! Or America might never be the same. Who would have thought you could destroy a country in two years?

The way you test it for the first use is to put red food coloring in the water. It filters that out, it will filter out anything. And it does! Cleanest tasting water I’ve ever had.

Yes I know filters are expensive but they last what I read. I used to have filters on my waterline but it turnend into a problem having to replace them every time we have a water break in town. We have them often.
The Berkey filters are supposed to last for 3000 gallons each. Mine has two filters, with room for two more. 6000 gallons at 2.5 gallons per day is several years using the same filters.

Then, I needed food – period. And I hadn’t any recording ability.
But I posted the incident here (without naming the company), and that also helps the lawsuit predicate.

All rail traffic to/from the Port of Vancouver is at a standstill due to wildfire activity in the area. Why does this matter? It has become an indispensible safety valve for ocean carriers who are experiencing massive congestion at US West Coast ports.
We have to stop as Country repent on China for our stuff, it will not be easy. Items we used to get easily will not be available until we begin manufacturing it our self.

The aluminum shortage is affecting canned goods, BTW. Especially pet food. If you intend to stock up on canned goods of any kind, then do it while it’s in stock.
Here’s my anecdote on the aluminum shortage. Since March 2020, the brand of canned cat food that I buy off Chewy has had spotty inventory. It’s often out-of-stock for weeks at a time. I looked into what specifically was causing this shortage—lack of aluminum cans to package the food. I’ve adjusted by making large orders whenever there’s inventory.
In related news, the center aisle shelves at the local grocery were picked over last week. It was the worst I had seen it since March 2020.
That would explain some of the sparkling water spottiness also.
We all buy different stuff, it seems.

Because of the Gore-Bull warming scam, and the move to (useless here) solar panels and bird-choppers, electricity is both extremely expensive and ever-increasingly unreliable, both of which are unacceptable for industries such as aluminum processing and refining. So the alumin(i)um industry has moved out of Germany, probably never to come back.
Rubber goods are sourced from RED China (at least here) because of cheap material and labor costs. Unfortunately, said products are dodgy, at best… (some of the tires from RED China are accidents waiting to happen, for instance)…..

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn’t notice that the light had changed. It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn’t honked, I’d never have noticed. I found that lots of people love Jesus!
While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, “For the love of God! Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!”
What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love! There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach.
I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back. My grandson burst out laughing. Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!
A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.
So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection. I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!

Update on my mom who had 2 Moderna injections in the spring.
Since receiving the poison she has been diagnosed with Persistant Atrial Fibrillation, a chronic Lacunar Infarct (strokes in the small arteries that provide blood to the brain’s deep structures), and now Glaucoma in both eyes requiring surgery next month.
Her type of Glaucoma progresses slowly. She had her last eye exam in March. No Glaucoma. We both know what has caused all this, but none of her doctors will even consider it and continue to be very Pro-Vaccine.
I have lost all respect for doctors.

Elsewhere here today I related that I’m seeing people get acknowledgement from doctors outside of corporate and university systems. I don’t know if that’s an option for you.
I did convince her to leave the university system she was in for a non-profit healthcare system. She has many specialists now and getting an ailing 84-year-old to change doctors is no small task.
My parents’ primary retired last year, so they’ve got new docs and very young ones who aren’t likely to buck a system. My SIL , who is REALLY not well, but that’s not the shots, switched to someone private with a lot more experience.
Usually, I would stick to the universities, but not for this. They’re in the tank.
Our limited contacts w/ U of Michigan hospitals in the covidiocy reign of terror makes me agree with you here. I am getting close to pulling my son’s care out entirely to avoid abuse & delusional decision making!

There’s a book called “How Doctors Think,” by Jerome Groopman, M.D. that has an amazing and sometimes maddening look at the medical industry. He is an expert in “incurable and rare diseases” and found himself pretty much victim of the same. We had the same issues with my son, who was multiply misdiagnosed, even to the point that they said “NO WAY” to WPW, until they saw the EKG trace go by in real time.
One chief doctor (head of the Pediatric Cardiologic Unit), three Senior Pediatric Cardiologists, and three specialist Pediatric Cardiologists, all looking at the monitor, when the delta wave went by, indicating WPW, at which one of the junior cardio’s yelled “That’s it”… Then they played it back and forth, just to be sure…
Sure makes you wonder… at least they had the decency and integrity point it out… until they found a syndrome upon which they could blame it… then a trip to some worldwide specialists… who basically said, nope, not this syndrome…
Crazy how they circle their wagons… is it pride, fear of being wrong, or maybe not enough air getting to them in their ivory towers…..

Had a colleague with the social skills of a brick. But one of the most brilliant computer guys I’ve ever met. Had another colleague, networks guy, who talked a mile a minute, but it was a flood of highly technical, and important (to our project and department) information. One fellow said, hey xxxxx, how about stop for a minute, take a Valium, and go back through what you just said. He slowed down (a real good sport, and a nice fellow, to boot), and didn’t need a Valium to do it…
I’ve seen the same in the music world. Enormous talent coupled with almost zero people skills (as if there wasn’t any room left). OTOH, I’ve met with great artists who were also great people, and often unfairly criticized.

We were shocked when our son wanted to be a doctor. He did not show what I think a doctor should be. He failed patient communication skills on one of his practicum tests.

Navigating the medical system is a challenge. You seem to know your way around it. The book sounds good. I put a hold on it at the library.
Drs. seem to operate within a tight framework. I have an autoimmune syndrome that was not presenting like it typically does and not responding to the prescribed treatment.
I asked my neuro about other diagnoses and treatments. He said, “This is what I am trained to do. Maybe something else would work but this is what I can do for you.”
He was open minded enough to admit he didn’t really know what was going on, but he couldn’t treat outside the medical structure.
That book is exactly along those lines. I hope you enjoy it, and that it helps you. And that GOD helps you too…
I can’t tell all the details online, but it sounds a lot like what my SIL is going through. Two BIG NAME medical facilities are treating her, and the bigger name is now calling the shots. The littler name is now all apologetic now that the diagnostics are coming into focus.
It’s interesting to hear about it all, and then to remember half of these people couldn’t navigate a library where the journal stacks were in alphabetical order.

The outright worship of paper knowledge (cf M$ or Cisco certs) versus real, applied knowledge over here is stifling. But it’s just like in the music world; I knew two MFA Choral Conducting candidates, one of which couldn’t conduct their way out of a paper bag, so to speak, the other of which is a world expert in a particular choral and national music… same degree, two VERY different levels of expertise. So much for what the paper says…
Only the two top specialists were open about what was going on, and even then it was sort of indirect confirmation of what we were saying and thinking.
Other doctors were not so forthcoming, and it was obvious that there was political (or research grant) pressure playing a part.
A friend who had osteosarcoma and lost a limb had a similar experience. The specialists were willing to talk and gave it to her straight, including who to go to (three states away) for a second opinion. At the top, they know each other and have no problem tapping into the network for help.

Thank you. Things will slow down for me in a couple weeks. For now, though, Mom’s issues kicked up today, and we are preparing for invasion in the morning. To top it off I finally got Mom to start really cleaning out some cabinets, etc. The coffee mug collection is about to get a lot smaller.

In the meantime, I am happy to report Ying is over her NASTY ear infection, and has lost enough weight the vet is happy. She’s gotten feisty now that the ear infection(s) are cleared up, and the nasty tooth was pulled. This is the Ying she was for years before Yang got so sick a couple years ago.

Yes to funny. One one hand though the training is so rigorous the doctors really have no chance to develop into what we call normal. They have to be on top in High school then college to get into medical school. When in medical school they have no life until they are out of residency.
This thought process brings this passage to mind, from my son’s Liver Transplant post-op phase:
This led to me getting to play dr. Val (I don’t warrant the capitalization here) for the briefest of times. For those that don’t know and/or care during my Undergraduate existence I was a Pre-Med student but with a Major of Biomedical Chemistry by the time my senior year came around I was very tired of tunnel-vision focus on the hard sciences within my degree. I actually only was able to take like two elective courses as a senior (the Pre-Med course at my college was very intensive and structured with minimal opportunity to branch out) and I chose ones in the Psychology field–both of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Anyway, by the time I got my BS Degree I was so sick of straight science and excited by Psychology that I was contemplating doing a fifth year of Collège to get a second degree in Psychology. However, when reading up on the enrollment paperwork from my University I found out they were offering a new degree in the School of Graduate Theology. Ultimately it was a choice of one more year for a BS in Psych or 2 more years for an MA in Christian Counseling. I chose the Counseling route and became the only one in the Seminary there that entered with MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) scored instead of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination).
The tremendous irony here is that by the time I got my BS I was so sick of science that I pretty much didn’t want to have anything to do with Med School, because I wanted to “have a life”, and didn’t relish the nearly decade of education and training required in Medicine. What ended up happening once Josiah came along is that I had a virtual medical degree without the paycheck and without “the life” i so selfishly craved in my relative youth.
So today I got to chime in on the rounds with details of both Josiah’s Open Heart Surgeries, at staff requests, and was part of their discussions in the most minor of ways. It was a treat but didn’t leave any level of regret for my life choices. In fact the lovely young female doctor who was giving the verbal report to the remainder of the team pulled me aside to share how she envied what I had saying that she would be going home to her plant and someday she would be going home to her cat. She seemed wistful for what I have (that she saw then) loving and Godly parents, 2 amazing sons (she could see), and such a wonderful husband that there are no words to do justice to the caliber of man he is. No one looking at her and me with physical eyes only would think the one experiencing envy was her!

The Memory thing is IT! From personal experience. My immune system over-reacted big time to certain substances I was exposed to causing an acute health issue. But there is the memory mechanism in the T-cells, which ensures that the next time the infectant comes along it gets recognized and the necessary antibodies are created as needed. There are many different such lessons learned by the T-cells over a lifetime, and there is no point keeping all the different antibodies around — in fact, the antibodies might become dangerous themselves, just as leftover unexploded ordnance is, to continue the battle analogy.
So all this focus on antibodies is wrong, as these are the result of immunity and not the cause of it. Another cart before the horse.
