Geronimo Rough Ride Begins NOW

(This post was lost during “Geronimo activities”, but has been reconstructed from email announcements.)

There is no saddle. There is only my trusty Navajo blanket, and my 1873 Winchester with a saddle ring and nothing to tie it to.

I am going to try a variety of things with increasing impact on the site.

Trust that by noon tomorrow, we WILL have a stable site, but it may not look like what we have now.

Just keep posting, keep having fun, and if you can’t post, go to The U Tree or Marica’s.

I will inform as needed.

Geronimo has said “enough of this shit”.

You will recall a lot of strange site changes before midnight last night.

Here is an update about what went on.

After backing up the site – a back-up to which we returned later – I attempted to restore several older backups, to see if I could get rid of various site problems, which appeared to be due to some corruption of the underlying code.

As you saw, this resulted in fast but very effective CHAOS on your end. Not a problem – I needed the information I got.

These attempts ALL failed to correct the problem.

After restoring the site, including Dep Pat’s scheduled post, I investigated more deeply, and discovered that there is a small but significant problem – the underlying site software has a tiny issue that throws WordPress. Thank G_d for the internet – I found exactly what I needed to fix.

This may have happened because during the operations at our host, we were MOVED, or some other similar environmental changes took place. In any case, WORDPRESS was not amused by a small but important change.

I have notified our host, COUGHCOUGH.com, of the problem.

Now – I need this problem fixed quickly, and it’s an easy fix, but it is also one that I cannot do myself. If it is NOT fixed soon, then I am going to take a DIFFERENT “Geronimo action”, so that we can get back to work A.S.A.P.

Stay tuned!

After I got signed in on the lap top I have had no problem posting. I just stay loged in and when I come to the sight I’m logged in. Should I be logging in and out?

Linda

I never log in and out. Firefox keeps me logged in. (Someone will probably tell me that’s bad security-wise. But on the plus side, I never have the problems others have).

It appears that you were born for such a time as this! May God guide, direct, protect, equip, inspire, sustain, bless, & refresh you–Always. In Jesus’ Love

AMEN!
My prayers too for Wolfm00n and the trees and we treepers.

And also that the various bugs and, erm, buggers get swatted and corrected…

Amen Cuppa!

Seems to work fine for me.
Thanks again Wolf.

Loads of luck.

Should we then assume that the glowing multicolored coatimundi climbing out of the walls are merely harmless apparitions?

Looks like I was correct about the vaccines and Antibody-Dependent Enhancement
I posted this way back last spring: Evaluation of Antibody-Dependent Enhancement of SARS-CoV Infection in Rhesus Macaques Immunized with an Inactivated SARS-CoV Vaccine

I know for sure it was WAY BACK. I remember knowing about it a long time ago, because of Gail.

FRIGGIN’ APRIL 2020.

We have known about this for a LONG time. God bless Gail, and all the others here who bring the sauce.

THIS is why the Black Hats hate our little site. Hate and fear it.

I received that email notice for the ‘Geronimo’ thread, but when I clicked on it, it went to a “Oops… this page cannot be found”.

So knowing there were problems with the site, I posted the contents of the email in the Daily Thread to alert anyone who doesn’t get email notifications that you were trying to post.

At some point, that post disappeared though, because I couldn’t find it later.

Thank you Wolf, for all of your efforts, always!

I saw it in the notifier and hit the like, since I was in the jettrap login.

Thanks for everything Wolfe. And especially for having a big heart and a big tent

If the 1873 Winchester isn’t enough firepower to make the rascals high-tail it, maybe consider bringing in “Big Ernie”. Home base is the Da Yoopers Tourist Trap in Michigan’s U.P.

Obviously, you’re not totally locked out if you’re commenting. It sounds like you are locked out of authoring. Are you locked out of administration? Do you have access to a separate computer?

iCloud, AWS, whatever the google cloud is called… seems they’re even juggled around when someone’s twerking with DNS or the root servers or the backbones betwixt…

Hang in there! It seems like your roller coaster from a few years back has grown a bunch of new humps, and higher ones at that…

(We had a traveling amusement outfit that would come to a shopping center near us, and they had an innocuous-looking ride called “The Mouse”. A relative of mine who would try anything, at least once, said, “Sure, it looks wimpy, but I’ll try it”. Five minutes or so later, they came back looking greener than the grass in the dividers… Seems what the ride lacked in length, it made up for in speed and rapid changes in direction and acceleration…)….

cthulhu

The one that seriously got me was Disney World’s MISSION: SPACE.

Beautiful, fun, interesting and entertaining ride. Glass smooth — they must have spent a FORTUNE in bearings. Simulates a bunch of G-Forces through tilt and spin.

Got off the ride, smiling, went through gift shop. Finally decided to leave the area — it’s in the middle of a large lawn criss-crossed with sidewalks. Got about halfway across the lawn and things started turning inside out. Managed to land on a bench where my inner ear recapitulated its criticisms of the entire ride experience in reverse.

After about five minutes, I was finally able to get off the bench and stagger around. Wasn’t truly myself for another half-hour afterward.

Scott just posted about it.

Wolfie, you do a terrific job keeping this site going. Thank you for that.

Does that mean I can take this damned helmet off?

Great job!

This is the best site going – a very tight-knit group of great people, who provide stellar research, information, and WISDOM.

Very rare.

Thanks so much … enjoy your night!

But now it’s all clean.

This has little to do with the issues described here but it IS a connection/site issue.

I apparently can no longer “see” to edit a post when using my Linux laptop (default firefox derived browser). This happened last week too; I just waited and edited at home.

I see some shadowy outlines while the draft loads, but then they go away and I’m left looking at a totally blank (and empty) page.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t an attack because I seem able to do it fine from Brave on my desktop computer.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

My other system is also Linux, and has Brave on it,

Two things for me to try (other than installing brave on this machine): I’m running updates right now, which I haven’t done in about a billion years. I also should check to see if I see the same issue with Firefox on that other system.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

OK. Apt Update UNINSTALLED the bastardized browser. that’s when I remembered they had planned to kill it.

So of course my old session is gone, utterly gone. I’m now on some other clone of Firefox.

I can see and edit, but my notifier doesn’t work. I know there’s a fix for that I just can’t recall it.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

So basically, I have to do both…OK.

I did the local log in, of course so I could write this comment (and work on my post).

cthulhu

I assume you mean apt upgrade.

You can roll back to prior versions of previously installed software (so long as it was installed with dpkg, for which apt is a wrapper). So you should be able to get your previous bastardized browser (and, likely, its info) back.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

In fact just now the apt utility finished downloading and it’s now unpacking and installing.
