The interview itself covers a broad range of topics that are most interesting and the science people among us might enjoy his discussion on space travel, alternative energy, etc. (It was great background noise for various activities. My mother had the radio, I have internet videos.) Disagreeing is fine, but it is amazing that this guy built two very valuable companies out of nothing.
Another video came up, and while the conversation is difficult to hear, it is a bit of a gut check to see James O’Keefe in a bullet proof vest.
These people are putting their lives on the line for us, just not the way the other side wants us to.

It’s a thing on HGTV that everything has to match and flow.
I wonder, sometimes, what the designers on that network would do with the one of a kind dwellings in these parts with unpainted millwork including built in niches for candlestick telephones.
The only problem with those cute niches is that they generally lack AC power.
I have some little open closets in my sunroom. Fortunately, one backs to a nice cedar closet in another room, so we were able to easily run wiring for a security system. That little closet also has an electric outlet as designed. The previous owners were going to make it into a telephone booth. They had lots of kids and grandkids so the idea of quiet phone conversations seemed appealing to them.

Yeah, that’s always been part of the game when you’re banging-out cookie-cutter subdivisions, but I had been thinking the rest of his home looked a little bit more upscale.
And, BTW, I live in a cookie-cutter home built in 1955. It has amazing solid “bones” to it, and has been internally modified to where it is quite distinct from the rest of the neighborhood (as about 1/3 of the nearby homes have been). It has some peculiarities — e.g. the forced-air heating treated ductwork like it was solid gold [current practice is to put registers near windows, not as close to the furnace as possible].
Near the window? That is odd.
The idea being that that’s the area in your house that gets cold. So you heat near the windows based on the temperature in the center of the house.
Same thing applies for AC. It’s likely that more heat is coming in through windows than through insulated walls.
Ok. Well it makes sense. My old single pane windows are awful 😫.
Blinds and heavy drapes and weatherstripping if you do not plan to replace.
Or you can retrofit another pane of glass in; that’s how my family did “storm windows” when I was a kid. There was a sliding window inside the “main” sliding window.
It meant you couldn’t put bric-a-brac on the window ledges but that was probably a good thing.
Our windows are crappy aluminum frame. We will probably do the upstairs ones in spring.

My house has still the 1920 windows and steam heat. The radiators are under the windows. We have been debating to replace the windows just one problem I love the woodwork and would have to give that up I think?
The windows still have weights that pull the window up and down. The previous owner got rid of the storm windows I believe the cost of having someone take the windows up and and down the second floor was to costly. Unless one was able to install the windows from the insight. Lazy I think .
They took some doors out going from the front hall entrance to the living room and on the other site to the dining room. Having doors I could close them and the house would be even warmer 🙂
In the back hall I have two doors one to go into the living room one kitchen. When I close them it gets warm very fast.
I am not complaining the house is nice warm as is. The woodwork in this house is beautiful. I should think of when I get older 🙂
You’re not talking about “remodeling” or “repair” as much as you’re talking about “restoration”….which tends to be much more expensive.
We did remodeling and restoration about 34 years ago but I did not wanted to get rid of the windows. We did floors and walls and kitchen and two bathrooms. Did not touch the woodwork or crystal doorknobs. We did work on the outside also.
Vinal windows turn me off.
Perhaps you could have their glass replaced?

replaced the furnace 5 years ago. This one looks like a box and is small compared to what was there. Yes steam is very nice.
We have radiant heating in the floors (Fußbodenheizung) and radiators, of course. Makes all the difference in the world on REALLY cold days. Our windows are double-glazed, but could probably do with being triple-glazed or have some sort of gas in them to up their R-Value.
I’ve even heard talk of quad-glazed (probably more green nonsense), but the cost there would be astronomical. Our living room windows are floor-to-ceiling (east and south side) so some *cough* opportunities for energy saving are there (if we were rich enough to afford them

We do have southern windows that make a difference even in winder standing against the wall outside it seems warm. Our house has double walls that helps.
Those went when the thermals were put in.
We used to have an eight foot single-pane sliding glass door that was incredible — it was like having a wall of ice in our living room.
Replacing windows is not too terrible of a project, BTW. (You generally don’t have to spend any time under sinks.)
We have 2 sliders. 1 and the adjacent window were replaced by previous owners w double pane, luckily its the 1 we use daily. The other is original and has a long non opening window right above it, which i hate. The glass in the slider is defective, you can push it out concave a little bit. That replacement will be a lot bc we will get rid of the stupid window above it.
Getting rid of a window should be extremely cheap. After all, it’s already framed so that area can be “air”, so all you have to do is put “wall” in there.
Ironically, for a load bearing wall, a “hole” is heavier than a solid wall, at least while it is being framed. The header over the hole is heavy.

We have an opening in the wall of our kitchen downstairs, which is a load-bearing wall…. boy howdy, the rules, regulations, and calculations that went on with that when our house was being built… talk about terminal bureaucracy… but FAR better safe than sorry, especially considering the load above it…
(Then again, if someone burns dinner, etc., it might have been better to leave it closed up 🙂 )….

Check to see if a glazier can just replace the glass with something double-paned.
If it’s anything but the north side of your house, low-e would probably be good, argon-filled would be nice, and I like the internal-divided look (particularly on things like sliders, as it keeps people/dogs/birds from casually trying to go through them).
Double-paned and the inside pane might be stained glass. I have a small bathroom window and would love to have it changed to stained glass. Instead, I added inexpensive vinyl that sticks to the window in a stained glass pattern. I’ve even gotten compliments on the window.
Thermal windows are worth the money for keeping out drafts, and letting AC escape, but if the seal breaks, you get condensation on the inside and there is no way to clean what is left behind. Three of ours will need to be replaced sooner or later, but thirteen years of no drafts is nice.
That is nice. Even w the blinds you can feel it coming through.

It has! Took the dig out at 130 am, wet outside a little. Slept in til 7 today and it was heavy sprinkle. Been raining light since. We had a leak in the garage wvlast week’s storm. Super super windy then, notsure if that pushed rain under the tiles or what, but it stopped when the rain stopped. Have a roofer coming on Monday to check. Leak is next to garage door. Hopefully nothing major. No broken or moved tiles i see.
The thing that actually keeps water out is the “membrane” (typically tar-paper). The shingles or tiles on the top are merely “bodyguards” for the membrane.
After the storm last night, no leak that we see yet.

So an update to my travels in the Pacific Northwest. Completed a 10 day trip, mostly through central and eastern WA state for work a couple of weeks back. Kind of normal and I would say masks used by those that wanted to. I fasted the whole trip so that was different. Dropped 15 lbs of weight, killed the crud I had, and ended up with a 10 lb weight loss for the trip after the refeed. So a good time.
Back in the Portland area for two days this week. Does it ever not rain here? Did almost 300 miles today and could not see a damn thing for most of that. Supposed to be snow and ice next week. Mask compliance 99%. Lost cause.
Almost 2,300 miles in rental car miles this month. Yikes. Looking forward to a slower start to next year. My daughter is getting married on 1/14 so no out of State travels until that is done. Apparently I have to dress up and do what I am told for a day. Have to get a new suit as my current ones did not pass the wife and daughter inspection standards. Too baggy apparently.
I recommended Vegas to get married as me and the wife did 33 years ago. I wore shorts and and a T shirt. Got vetoed on that also.

True. Takes time to build up to that. Was my first 10 day but I would say it was my easiest fast.
I suspect it’s a lot like breath-hold diving. There are valid safety systems saying that you must continue these processes or you will die…..and you have to convince your body that you have a bit more time than that, and you have a plan to get back toward normal.
Mainly getting your body used to running on ketones (fat) and not glucose (sugar). There is a difference between having ketones and being able to run on ketones with plenty of energy.

My Haiti neighbor shovels our sidewalk and up steps before we get up. He says he has fun doing so. He is a sweetheart and his wife is Hispanic. Good people and Christians. I hear Christian music coming from their home. They seem Evangelical. If a person is old Evangelical always help and refuse pay.
Every year with the first snow there’s a wave of people who go out and shovel snow without having exercised at all in the spring, summer and fall months who keel over while doing it.

I pointed out originally when the trials were going on that they were both underpowered and deliberately did not seek to demonstrate that the jabs actually prevented getting ***** or transmitting it to others. Proving that is indeed possible but it takes more people, far better surveillance with routine tests on a once or twice a week basis across the entire jabbed population and thus you build statistical evidence. For an EUA we did not require it, the FDA did not demand it, neither did Trump or HHS and thus we didn’t get it.
In short there was no reason at all to believe that they worked in that fashion — that is, that any sort of public-health argument for them would ever have merit. At best the EUA process undertaken was one that could potentially demonstrate that for a short time, a few months, one obtained a personal benefit.

This made the entire edifice of using these jabs as a means of “ending the pandemic” an outright fraud. I so-noted at the time, roughly one year ago.
Nobody cared and I was called all manner of crazy.
Well, I was right. Not because I wanted to be right, but because I was; there simply was no evidence demanded or developed that durable and stable immunity, never mind interrupting transmission, was possible with this path. It had never worked before and we did not demand it of the manufacturers for authorization.
Now maybe that’s good enough on a voluntary basis. Or is it?
Well, only if you clearly and fairly disclose the risks.
Which, as with Vioxx, was in the original data. Of course you had to look, and you had to care. You also had to run to the ground that which was developed early; in September 2020, to be exact, there was scientific evidence that the spike protein, absent the rest of the virus, was individually dangerous. This discovery did set off further inquiry and it was subsequently confirmed.
We did none of that further investigation on a formal basis nor did we care or act on that which was developed.
We didn’t do it with Vioxx either, did we? Nope — that took 60,000 dead Americans and five years before we cut the bull****, and that was for a drug that helped with pain from arthritis!
This is a global cash cow and if it makes people sick and thus forces them to take even more drugs and spend more money in the hospital that’s good for all the ghouls bank accounts. That you get ****ed in the process is a call the Whaaambulance event and all of this has occurred because you let it happen.
Pfizer has disclosed in their own data that for young people the shots are as dangerous, as measured in hospitalization, for ***** as they are for caused myocarditis. Since infection is never certain but inoculation, once you take it, is there was never an argument for authorizing these jabs in healthy young people simply on the math. We did it anyway and we’re still advocating it.”

Related ground report on the Transverse Myelitis. It involves one of our four 80+ year old friends who was healthy before the two Pfizer jabs who now sings in the choir of anti-Covid vaxxers. He developed back problems a few months after the shots, could not stand for more than a few minutes without pain. Highly active before including regularly golfing, traveling to national and state parks to visit and hike, a really good woodworker, etc. He showed me the scan of his spine on Friday. Scoliosis at the base similar to the linked report. Never been diagnosed in his entire lifetime on the planet, never had any side effects from it. Played collegiate baseball – athlete. Seems it would have shown up somewhere along life’s path. Orthopedic starts him in therapy a few weeks before I saw his scan and he now does 45 minutes of exercises per day to help the issue. Says he already feels better and about 80-90% of his former self. He is also getting farther removed from the jabs and began taking immunity supplements. Anecdotal – maybe. If and when he has a follow-up scan I will report on here. Just sent him the link.

He promised that would happen immediately, but nah. Took out the penalty for not using it, that’s it. Still being used as a mechanism to push national healthcare and drive up deficits. Got the military budget increased with budget approval. The same military that is melting like an ice cream on a hot day as it is torn apart by the woke and vaccine mandates. Got a sign-off on the reworked NAFTA – after giving Nancy and Chuck some juice. IIRC the rest were all executive actions including killing burdensome fed regulations – with the pen passing to the criminal in the WH. The major legislation that passed benefitted us, but also benefitted the globalists. The Neocon military industrial complex loved the military budget increase. What happened to Keystone and with it exploration and expansion of that sector since the look at me Mr. Energy President passed the pen? Yep, doubled the gas prices at the pump and shut it down. If DJT is acting, then he knows the clot shot is poison, and he is leading sheeple who were on the fence into taking the shot, along with their innocent children, who have no ability to speak for themselves or resist.

I think mandates were used as a cruel psy-op against people who were muddling along with chosen, comfortable stances of all kinds on the vaccines (vax, don’t vax, decide later, don’t care just delay, etc.). Mandates created URGENCY that created psychological pressure.
Part of the ploy was shifting mandate blame to vax blame on the part of the anti-vax people, and the “delayed decision” people, many of whom were in Trump’s base. The media would not state negatives about the vaccines, so we would have to discover and publicize those ourselves, creating an echo chamber that would increase division and irrationality.
Trump is bursting that division.
I don’t KNOW if part of his timing has to do with changes in the current state of knowledge about the disease and the vaccines, or is related to the omicron explosion.
For me, having COVID a second time changes the calculations drastically. All one has to do to be rational here, is to look at the negatives of the death shots, and the negatives of the disease, and the amount of time that either one gives immunity to the next wave.
We had NO IDEA about the true durability of natural immunity until now, but IMO the numbers create much more of a horse race.
When natural immunity was potentially 10-17 years or even greater, it struck me as a really smart option. But I only got 2 years. If the “death shot” is 1/16 as dangerous as the disease, 4 boosters in 2 years is a winner, for somebody with no contraindications or comorbidities.
I *ACTUALLY* follow the science, which is now up for grabs, after getting a second case of COVID at 2 years. I followed the science AWAY from the jabs, and now I’m back CLOSER to the jabs for some people.
I’m not planning on having kids. I’m not planning on living 50 more years. If these jokers at Pfizer could offer strain-only-sterilizing vaccines that Geert Vanden Bossche blessed, AND they could make those strain-specific for the current ones, AND the rate of evolution meant a new vaccine in 6 months, and the side effects were less than say 1/16 the dangers of COVID itself – well – that sounds like a good deal to me.
Now if I had a specific contraindication that made the shots much more dangerous (say, a clotting problem), I would probably stick with a new case of COVID every 2 years.
These are both bad options. But THAT is the result of getting only 2 years of protection by natural immunity. It changes the relative reward of the two approaches.
I’m just making the best choice for me, which at the moment (I’ve got 2 years, maybe) is to not get the shot. But at 1.5 years, a really safe shot would have appeal to me, to extend my immunity.
MY advantage is that I can admit that BOTH the vaccine and the disease are risky. THEY’RE BOTH NASTY.
I think I would rather go with keeping my immune system in tip top shape, therapeutics & **monoclonal antibodies. HOWEVER I am still quite healthy for my age and weathered my tangle(s) with Covid reasonably well. My decision will probably change with time.
As long as there is a CHOICE as there is with the flu shot, I’m good.

The trouble with antibodies is you have to have the right ones READY TO GO. That really great paper on omicron proved that NONE of the commercial antibodies out now work worth crap on it.

Not a single politician in any party running for President in 2024 will have an anti vax position as a part of their platform. None. Us hard core “anti vaxxers” are a minority. A very stubborn minority. While I disagree with Trump on this, he still has the best position out of any other politician who speaks on covid.
