One thing bothers me in the wake of our call. And I put it in an email here rather than spend time on the phone discussing it further.
As you know, I spend a great deal of time following current events…especially politics….“hiking through the tall weeds”, as some refer to it, and studying the granular details of the who, what, when, where, and why.
Millions of people engage in “fantasy sports” attempting to accurately predict the outcomes of a given sport. These people, through daily efforts, know more about their sport of choice than anyone who doesn’t follow and study as much as they do. Well, politics, current events, and economics is my “fantasy football”. And they are all closely linked and interwoven with one another,
Like a fantasy sports enthusiast who knows all the players, I know who people like Marc Elias, Peter Strzok, Susan Rice, and Frank Luntz are, or entities such as Lawfare.org and Perkins Coie, without having to look them up.
For example, I can tell you more than you yourself readily admit you want to know about who Special Counsel John Durham is, what and who he has been/is investigating, why he is investigating it, what his investigation is uncovering, what it all means, and why it is so terribly important to the country.
In contrast, by your own admission you cannot.
Another example….by your own admission you have not closely examined all the detrimental information regarding the COVID vaccines and the harm they are causing. By your own admission you don’t know who Dr. Robert Malone is (fact: he is one of the credited inventors of mRNA technology, the medical tech the mNRA vaccines are based upon, and who holds multiple patents on mRNA tech).. So if you don’t know who he is, then you also don’t know he…one of the credited inventors of the tech….is publicly and firmly against their use. You also don’t know…cannot know….that he is also fully vaccinated and suffered detrimental effects from his own vaccine, which is one reason why he is very publicly against their use. In short, you are completely unaware of just one of the many, very strong and compelling reasons why you should be questioning what you think you know as fact.
Now, not knowing these things isn’t a knock on you, per se. As long as you recognize that is a choice. Because the info is out there and readily available.
However…
…what IS a knock is for someone who doesn’t follow events and issues as closely as someone as I do allowing themselves to believe they have a deeply informed opinion. Worse still, enough of an informed opinion as to label someone like me as a “conspiracy theorist” (which btw is well-understood to be a derisive if not insulting term….and this whether or not it is intended that way).
To repeat….not having an deeply informed opinion is not a knock against you.
But what IS a knock against you is believing your opinion is deeply informed enough to consider or think of me as being a “conspiracy theorist” while….at the same time….NOT being at all interested in learning the information that underlies the concerns that would lead someone such as yourself to consider someone like me a “conspiracy theorist”.
THAT is unfair and it is not right. In fact it is grossly unfair. Worse, it is intellectually dishonest and morally wrong. It is ignorance calling concern, based upon in-depth knowledge unknown by the willfully ignorant, unwarranted and/or of no concern.
These are but two examples (John Durham and Dr. Malone) that demonstrate that, in truth, you really don’t know enough to fairly and reasonably think of someone like me as a “conspiracy theorist”, or that my concerns are out of place.
Simply,put, if you do not share my concerns, that is fine. But it is not ok to consider my fears and concerns unwarranted or overblown while allowing yourself to think you are well informed enough to make such a judgment, especially when that is demonstratively not the case. And this applies to the 2020 election, COVID, the vaccines, the World Economic Forum (WEF), John Durham’s investigation, and a lot of other related and interlinked topics.
Here (below) is a link to a good piece on the phrase “conspiracy theorist”. As has been so often proven throughout history, today’s “conspiracy theory” is tomorrow’s proven fact. And actually, human history is littered with examples of this truth. The pharisees conspired against Jesus. Truth is people conspire in all manner of ways, every day….especially criminals, governments, or their entities. Books and in-depth studies have filled libraries on this factual topic.
Indeed a critically thinking person cannot help but wonder, in light of this fact, how human history might’ve been different had the willfully ignorant…who didn’t follow the granular details, for whatever reason(s)….taken the folks they called “conspiracy theorists” a little more seriously and a little less derisively.

But at least be man enough to admit that. YOU admit you don’t trust these news sources, but you still use them to get the information that “inform” your opinion….yet by your own admission you cannot cite any alternative forms of information sources that are not traditional. THAT is a severe cognitive dissonance.
For all the above rational, logical, easily understood reasons, you have absolutely no business calling anyone like me a “conspiracy theorist”. Put in historical context, you are laughing and mocking people trying to warn you that Hitler is a bad guy and war is coming when, by your own admission, you don’t study the issues….but allow yourself to believe you have an informed opinion….and you get your news from traditional news source…..but you admit you don’t trust them. FG&C, all I can offer is, once a long time ago, I had to send a very difficult letter to family members. I agonized about it for weeks, and had to have a friend walk me to the mailbox to send it when I finally worked up the courage. But in the long run, it was the best thing I ever did. And no, those (very close) relatives never spoke to me again.
Painful for families. Time heals the pain, which ever direction the letter takes your relationship. As I look back on my awful family, I am grateful to not have them in my life. Exhausting, gossipy, cruel and uninformed is the kindest words I can muster.

Systems like uninterrupted power, integrated biosafety cabinets (vs. chemical fume hoods), human life support systems, live toxic waste water treatment, “innovations” like modification of faulty pneumatic doors, reverse engineering of the Siemens air handler controls, knock off of a tested performance lab wall assembly, and an alternative weld solution for the double walled live toxic waste water drain pipe. (They had difficulty finding skilled welders!)
They claim patents on these so-called innovations.
There were goals for 80% local project delivery. Maybe not such a great idea for one of the country’s first BSL-4’s.
One of the prime contractors (HVAC) filed for bankruptcy in 2015, before commissioning and certification.
No wonder the French walked. They didn’t want the liability, and it appears most of the professional liability falls on Chinese entities. China really doesn’t want any origin attributed to this lab, imo.
NIH can only fund research in laboratories that meet accepted US standards. Sounds like the design and construction standards of the WIV lab may not have.

Not only the notes not matching, the rhythm is wrong, too (i.e. when he hits the keys, the notes come at a different time). The tessitura (range of the notes) is much wider than what Vlad is playing, as well.
The trick would be to figure out what he’s playing based on looking at his fingers. Takes a bit of careful watching, but certainly do-able. Same thing with other instruments as well.
Always love to watch movies (OK, youtubes of movies) to see if someone is faking it or not. With string instruments it’s usually immediately obvious, bowings are a dead giveaway…

This is a blessing in disguise. You need to anonymize your pics (which also makes them smaller) by making screenshots of them on your computer (preferably a computer with less personal information than your phone). Then they will upload easily. Check the info of the pics as well. Make sure your name isn’t on them. Some photo programs offer information removal. Do that after the screenshotting process.

As I walked on, I reflected on the police and our Ottawa priests. The police think they are doing the right thing, obeying orders, putting up checkpoints, closing off the down town to citizens who are peaceful. However, these police men are doing so unlawfully, as our Constitution allows for peaceful protests…even the Emergency Act that our prime minister has invoked, cannot supersede it. They should know this, they are trained in law. However, they have decided that obedience to their superiors, even when it is unlawful, is the way to go.
So too, the priests in Ottawa. They think they are doing the right thing, in obedience to our archbishop who seems to have forbidden them to tend to the peaceful sheep who have come to their city. However, these men – and woman – would have loved to see clergy there, praying for and with them. So, when the archbishop listens to the people like Trudeau, and our Mayor, who want to impose tyranny on the people, our priests, like the police, in obedience obey… . I have been praying daily for our archbishop by the way… but he seems to be impervious to prayer. Perhaps, as Jesus said, you cannot serve God and Mammon, and by taking money from the government, the Church seems to have made their choice, as have the legacy media, who only report on what the government wants them to report. Our archbishop and some priests seems to want to cooperate with the government, rather than obey God – by closing the Churches downtown, and our access to them.

After yesterday’s dark Holy Hour, I stopped in at another parish, and noted the interior. This is a Church erected in 1885-86, and the building reflects that. Somewhere along the line, it was wreckovated, removing the Communion Rail, moving the Tabernacle to the side, putting in a Cramner table, etc. Well, the current pastor there, has a table behind the Cramner table for the Tabernacle with a red light – as the Roman Missal says should be. The Monstrance is not the sunburst motif, but one of the newer ones that resembles a reliquary. The hymnal and bound missals are NOT the cheap, crappy ones. The bells were on the steps for a server. It just reeked of “return to tradition.” I happen to know that they sing the Salve Regina and the Regina Coeli in Latin at the conclusion of Mass.
The swing back is happening, but not at the hierarchy level yet. That group is slowly aging out. It sucks, because every day I see posts about men, specifically, just giving up because the hierarchy is so feckless.

I have some amusing things to relate at a future time…as I am a Trad Catholic since the lockdown. When I looked for Masses online during the 2020 lockdown, I came across the Traditional Mass, and it was just like being at Adoration, which I had been doing for a many years, several times a week. However, it’s really funny, as someone actually asked me as we were listening to the speakers on the flatbed truck below the Hill and before the crackdown if I were a Charismatic Catholic…hilarious. Training, equipment (including planes, helicopters, subs, boats, clothing, etc.) and over-all readiness is probably at an all-time low, both in quality and endurance.
Add to that our dependence on Russian gas, since Norway and others with North Sea resources have turned off the taps, and there’s no reasonable alternative.
No nukes is bad news. And losing coal and gas could very well ruin Germany, especially if it gets colder, which is how the quiet sun seems to be headed…
