Sing A New Song!
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? (Psalm 43:5a)
We live in a world of pain. Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus (John 11:35). There’s no need to always put on a happy face and pretend that things are okay when they’re not.
There are many biblical examples of men of God struggling with sadness, even to the point of depression. David wrote, “Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll—are they not in your record?” (Psalm 56:8). David, a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), didn’t gloss over his sadness; he expressed it to God. Both Moses (Numbers 11:5) and Elijah (1 Kings 19;3-5), two heroes of the faith, confessed to God that they preferred to die than live in their current reality. Neither was rebuked by God for his feelings; rather, both were met with God’s love and provision. The Bible is not shy about admitting the realities of human emotion. Sadness is part of life, and it is not condemned.
As believers, we’re exhorted to see the greater reality of God’s plan even in the midst of our sadness and depression. Yes, this world is fallen and often painful. It can be depressing. But God is far greater. He is at work, victoriously. Moses and Elijah received God’s provision and experienced His refreshing. Shortly after pouring out his sadness, David praised God. Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
It’s OK for Christians to call trouble for what it is. At the same time, we take heart in God’s care. Taking heart doesn’t mean pasting on a smile or ignoring the feeling of emptiness that depression brings. It doesn’t mean ignoring the relational hurts or the misperceptions that have led to depression (Satan’s lies, if we believe them, will lead us to despair).
What taking heart does mean is bringing all our pain to God. It does mean continuing to trust in Him. It does mean believing that what He says about Himself and about us is true, even when we don’t feel like it is. We acknowledge the depravity of the world, but we also acknowledge the sufficiency of God.
It isn’t wrong to be depressed. But it is wrong—and not especially helpful in overcoming a depressed state—to give up on God when we are depressed. “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 43:5).
Therefore if anyone is joined to Christ by faith in Him as Savior, he’s a new creature altogether, reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit; the old moral and spiritual condition have passed away. Spiritual awakening brings a new life. Behold! The fresh and new have come! 2 Cor 5:17 (amplified)
With the new life in Christ, we have the fresh and new, and are no longer mired in life as the world knows it. The pain and sadness of the world are now replaced by peace and joy of our promised eternal life . . . and our praises to God for his mercy and grace.
“O sing unto the LORD a new song: Sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Sing unto the LORD, praise His name” (Psalm 96:1–2).
Many other psalms echo a similar thought: “Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory” (Psalm 98:1). David intoned, “I will sing a new song to you, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to You” (Psalm 144:9). “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy,” insists Psalm 33:3. Again and again, God’s people are encouraged to “Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise in the assembly of His faithful people” (Psalm 149:1).
In each of these passages, new means “original,” “fresh,” “one of a kind,” and “never seen before,” or, in this case, “never heard before.” Through the prophet Isaiah, God said, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18–19). Right before this, the Lord declared, “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing to the LORD a new song, His praise from the end of the earth” (Isaiah 42:9–10).
When we’re born into the family of God, He makes us new creatures in Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul explained, “The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17; see also Galatians 6:15). To the Corinthians, Paul said, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10).
As God’s people, we express praise and thanks to Him. Singing unto the Lord a new song is the natural reaction of an individual who is newly saved and transformed by the Lord: “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD” (Psalm 40:3)
This new song is a fresh response of praise and thanks—one that matches the freshness of God’s goodness and mercy, which are “new every morning” (Lamentations 3:23). A new song springs forth from the heart of a worshiper who has been struck anew with wonder at the greatness of God and the salvation He has provided. When we see the mighty hand of God working in a way we’ve never observed before, we can’t help but burst forth with a song we’ve never sung before.
A new song has been heard from people of every generation—sung by a choir of born-again believers who have tasted and seen the goodness and salvation of the Lord. From days of old and for all eternity, followers from every tribe, language, people, and nation sing unto the Lord a new song (Revelation 5:9). Throughout the earth and before the throne of God in heaven, we can hear the redeemed singing a new song to the Lord (Revelation 14:3).
We look forward and look up in eager anticipation of the coming Sonrise that will bathe the entire world in God’s Light. Ours is not to grab our old, gray raincoats to trudge out into the drizzle and chill of this present world, being blown about by the sinful winds so prevalent in our besieged world. We trust in God and not ourselves and our own thinking. If we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will guide our paths.
We have won! We are the conquerors! The victory is ours . . . it is fait accompli.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. (Philippians 4:4-5)
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Are we there yet? Are we at least walking along that path that leads to an inexpressible joy in Christ? Are we even looking for that path?

Sadness and misery may be part of mankind’s worldly lot….but we may pray to be supported, walk in God’s Chosen Path, and be comforted. But despair, and turning away from God, can lead to more misery than exists on Earth.

Yesterday, a relative told me that he “wishes he could pick up a rifle and go fight in Ukraine.” This is the same person who, two months ago, canceled our Christmas plans at the last minute out of fear of Omicron. Yes, the same person who was too scared to spend a few extra hours together with his own family because of COVID now wants to rush into a warzone halfway across the world.
And it’s not just my injected relatives. There’s an entire subreddit called /r/VolunteersForUkraine dedicated to helping the brainwashed make plans to literally go to Ukraine and fight in combat. At first I thought the subreddit was merely 4chan trolls trolling pro-Ukraine shills, but now I see that some people genuinely want to go fight some other country’s war despite not having any combat experience, knowing the local language, or having any personal connection there.
What is wrong with these people?
This goes beyond mere Fake News, propaganda, and stupidity. I know “spiritual war” is the answer, and while I acknowledge and don’t dismiss that point at all, I swear there is some additional unknown here at play that is causing people to lose their minds.
Years and years and years of fake news and propaganda take their toll. People have lost the ability to reason for themselves. And after two years of the ludicrous COVID narrative, I think some of them have Stockholm Syndrome.
On a related note, this quote I found recently (with minor edit from me for clarity) is the most succinct explanation of our current day propaganda that I’ve ever read. It was clearly inspired by Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars (.pdf), which should be mandatory reading for any truth seeker, although it’s rather depressing reading material.

The ability to extricate oneself from the global fiat control system is becoming easier and the process is accelerating.
As we are all seeing, no government on earth can be trusted, which means no fiat currency on earth can be trusted, which means no corporate banking system can be trusted, ever again.
If we want freedom, the way to do it is to take back our own personal sovereignty.
And the one thing that hurts the global corporate mafia power structure more than anything else is taking control of our money away from them.
The next is shutting off their listening, recording and tracking devices (mobile phones).
Just those two things would liberate the entire planet, or at the very least, put us on an inevitable path to that conclusion.
In Germany everyone had to have an small passport and carry it with you. One just had to have it on one person. I never thought anything off it because that is how it was. Also someone came to visit for extended time even if it was family had to go to the police to register. Now no longer but this digital passport reminds me of that.
We have been conditioned over the past years in US to show iPad that has a coupon on it or whatever.
I was shocked when my husband used his iPhone for those uses.
Same with shopping at Kroger one gets a discount and they track what one buys. We have been tracked for a while.

I have personally witnessed personality changes in people who got the Clot Shot. And they aren’t abating.
I watched him very interesting and well worth listening to him. What a brilliant man.
A lot of these people lost their minds long before the injections were available, although I agree the injections may very well be accelerating the insanity.

Breaks the God connection? They are monsters.
This is VERY reminiscent of the virtue signaling of American leftists in the Spanish Civil War. Going to Spain to fight for the [Orwellianly named] “Republicans” (basically the Bolsheviks and whoever they could convince to go along with them) was not only a high act of virtue in its time – these people bragged about it for YEARS, even though they got their butts kicked to hell and back.
The commie side in Spain was monstrous. Burning churches, murdering and burning priests, raping and killing nuns – just horrific. When the war was done, with the “nationalists” winning, people were so pissed at the commies, the surviving commie prisoners were considered lucky to be protected from the wrath of the people. Very similar to the Finnish Civil War at about the same time. When the Finnish Civil War was over, there was no sympathy for the Bolsheviks, and the society didn’t have “understanding” portrayals of the commie side in stories or film for DECADES.
By the way, BOTH of these nations are very good study material, for understanding what is needed to destroy a communist revolution.

Not surprising!
Here is my take on why/how this is occurring.
Prior to the “Covid era,” many people had lost all sense of purpose. Many don’t have any religion or faith. Family as a touchstone unit of society has faded. SO many of the millennial generation were just aimlessly drifting through life. But if you talked to them, you could tell they really WANTED to do/be something meaningful.
Then TPTB gave them something “meaningful.” Fighting the “scourge” of the 21st Century, Covid. Suddenly, they were “important.”
Now, that’s gone. Withdrawal has set in. What’s to do?
UKRAINE!
And yes, these idiots, who wore unnecessary masks, bathed in hand sanitizer, and hid inside their houses for two years would literally go overseas, pick up a gun, and die fighting for a corrupt country like Ukraine just to have some MEANING to their aimless lives again.
It’s sad, pitiful, and depressing to me. What they need is a REAL PURPOSE. And there is a path to that. But temporal powers have turned them away from God, where such purpose could be found. Real, true happiness comes from the realization that we are BORN for a reason, there IS an INNATE purpose for us being here, even if WE OURSELVES don’t see it.
It’s like growing up with a good parent or grandparent. You know, because they BELIEVE in you, that you MEAN something to the world. If you know, FOR SURE, that God put you on this Earth for His reasons, then you KNOW there is MEANING for YOUR life. INNATELY.
Once a friend I knew called this “going with the flow”. He did go to church with me once. While I have not seen him in decades, I hope he found the path to God.
And before COVID, the big issue to rally behind was “stopping Trump.”
I think you nailed it.
It’s just sad to me that we have a whole generation of people with no self-worth. Everything that makes them feel important is external.

Yet another personal memory…..
I did a lot of summer school. In one session, the instructor played a bunch of electronic music that I thought was super-neat. So I asked him what it was…..
…..and he said it was “Switched-On Bach” by Walter Carlos. *Spoiler — it wasn’t*
Which launched into this weird and largely futile quest to find which bleeps and bloops had tickled my fancy when I was so young [summer school between 4th and 5th grade?].
This involved things like attending my mom’s college’s audition of a Moog modular synthesizer. I was probably the youngest person there and one of the few not from the Music Department.
I acquired records like “Switched-On Buck” — Buck Owens and “The Bakersfield Sound” with assists from the Moog Synthesizer.
As every Walter/Welter/Welty/Wendy Carlos album came out, I was among the first to buy it.
I acquired a bunch of synthesizer albums, along with Musique Concrete, tape loops, and Fairlight [ https://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/fairlight_cmi.php ]….
After a quest of about 20 years, I finally found that the music that had so entranced me came off of two albums….

During the Russian revolution different groups of Jews helped ethnically cleanse their own that they didnt like. Of course there were some that worked w the nazis too. I have no idea what happened to those people and if their family lineage has come to positions of power. BUT if they adopt an anti-Israeli tone in media and social media, they are quickly labeled not as Jews, and not even as semites, but as antisemites.
In my opinion, the truth is a mixture – Judaism is BOTH ethnic and religious. And that is part of the design.
The bottom line on this question of Ukraine, however, is what ALL of us deserve as INDIVIDUALS under a just system with our rights from GOD – meaning that none of us should be blamed for the actions of the few. It’s strange.
When I was a little, we used to make phasers and communicators, as detailed as we could make them, out of paper. Then by the time I was 1st or 2nd grade, we had plastic Phasers and communicators with lids that popped up, just like the ones on Star Trek.
I looked forward to that kind of technology becoming real some day.
Then mobile phones were invented, and became smaller and more popular. The last thing I needed at the time was another utility bill, and I had already avoided the ‘beeper’ craze because I didn’t want to be on-call 24/7 unless I was getting paid like a surgeon — which I wasn’t.
As time went by, I saw how the mobile phones affected people. It was always negative. And when you see how negative something is before you are immersed in it yourself, there is no allure to it, at all. It’s more like watching people you know and care about get clot-shots.
If you watch old concert videos, or if you’re old enough to remember going to concerts before mobile phones, people used to hold up lighters when the band started playing a great song. It always looks amazing.
Now, everybody holds up their mobile phone, by the tens of thousands, right or left arm outstretched like a Nazi salute. It’s ugly and grotesque.
At family gatherings on holidays, when everyone goes silent, I look around, and everyone in the room is transfixed by their mobile phone screen, each person lost in his own world.
I don’t understand why anyone would want that to become a part of their daily life. It makes me sick to see my younger nephews be given their first ‘cell phone’.

I am right there with you. It is why I ran over the first cell phone Hubby gave me with the Dually and the second with the tractor.

When I first moved to my town, there was this guy who would show up at the farmer’s market and hang around, dancing strangely. Some people said he was nuts, some said he had Tourette’s. I thought he was very weird.
One summer, he showed up with a woman. He danced and she just walked along normally, shopping, all summer long.
The next summer however, she had caught it! They both showed up and danced weirdly all around the market. I saw them a few times in other places, still dancing.
A few years back he died. I haven’t seen her lately to see if it “went away” after his death.

Next week, I hear a group will be joining us that hasn’t assembled in three years due to the lockdowns. Scary thing…I know about half of them. Hard working and drinking Irishmen and women.
Back in the county, again for Mass #2, few were wearing masks since the mandate was lifted. And after two years, I actually remembered that solo. SCORE!

As an avid, lifelong hunter who has done so worldwide, I will share my own personal opinion. Again.
I will only shoot an animal I expect and plan to eat. If it is not going to wind up on my dinner plate, I won’t shoot it. Period. Full stop.
I don’t eat cats, elephants, rhino, bear, wolves, etc. I do not eat predators.
I do eat deer, sheep, antelope, upland game fowl such as pheasant/quail/grouse, and certain ducks. I eat game animals….which is to say….animals that are historically recognized as prey for predators and proper food for humans.
If a species is rare or endangered, it should not be hunted. Regardless if it is a prey animal or not.
I could care less about killing a “record” anything, although that was not always the case. I stopped “trophy hunting” while still a young man. I am a meat hunter. I would rather “take” a doe, for instance, rather than a trophy buck. Truth is I have often shot a young doe standing next to a monster trophy buck that I would have shot in my youth. In fact, I regularly pass up shooting altogether, even when a good kill is present, preferring to watch what is happening rather than upsetting the scene. I have been greatly rewarded by doing this, countless times.
I don’t think the Gov is an “asshole”, per se, for shooting a mountain lion, but I do frown upon the practice as I: A) don’t shoot predators and B) don’t eat them.
IMHO, there are “shooters”, and then there are “hunters”. One clear line in the sand between the two….IMHO….is the “taking” of predators. No one shoots a lion in order to eat it. There are other lines in my sand here.
”Shooters” can give hunters a bad rep. No one ever spends any time talking about the kind of hunter I am, because no one can reasonably disagree with it.
That said, if the animal was taken legally and properly (both categories having a long discussion of what that means), then I don’t have a problem with it.
Lastly…
Snowflakes are going to glom onto any excuse they can find….however trivial….to condemn anyone not in their tribe.

They turned loose a pair of big cats near some wild horses. The cats took out all but one of the foals that year.
Coyotes took all my one friends’ feeder calves. A second friend had all their sheep and goats slaughtered and the guy across the street lost his entire calf crop last year.
On top of that my BIL’s friend had his two year old daughter dragged off by a coyote. They were sitting on a log in the back yard in a town near Boston MA.

We used to drive down from NY just about every weekend to go caving in W.Va.
We had it down pat. My truck was packed on Thursday. Met in the parking lot at work on Friday and off we would go. Three or four slept in the back of the truck, (I had a cap) and a couple others sat in the cab. Once we actually had to open the windows to shut the doors because the shoulder to shoulder to shoulder to shoulder across the cab was larger than the distance between the windows.

In the cases you describe, I can understand why anyone would “take out” predators causing livestock losses such as you describe.
That said and as far as I know, this was not the case with the Gov. in MT. Anyway, I was speaking of purely hunting predators, like cats, merely for the trophy. There is a big, big difference between hunting for meat and hunting for trophies…esp. today vs. times past.

With their vanishingly small knowledge of history, it’s no surprise that they don’t know that we oldsters used to buy fruits and veggies unencumbered by packaging, and sometimes without even the wax that they used to put on apples, peppers, and sometimes tomatoes.
Seems the packaging came about due to the young whippersnappers (today’s greens) fondling and pawing the produce to the point that it was ruined… What goes around comes around….
Bill Hewlett (cofounder of HP) absolutely HATED the fact that hardware pieceware (screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) was only available in packages of 5, 10, or more, even when the usual need for anyone outside of industry was just one or two. I can remember spending (blush) hours at my favorite hardware store when I was a kid, looking at all the different plugs, pipe fittings, lamps, washers, screws, clamps, and other items that now, for the most part, are only available packaged in multiiples.
Seems that was an anti-theft measure, but it turned into theft from normal customers; we’d have to buy many things that we didn’t need… and even packrats have a limit to how much they’ll store away…
When I first dipped my toe in manufacturing, our engineering guys had it beaten into their heads that they should use the least expensive components they could, so our stockroom would have 12 1% eighth-watt resistors, starting at one, then 12 more starting at 10, then 12 more starting at 100….
And, then, we’d have 1%, 2%, and 5% resistors. Sometimes they’d be metal film, and sometimes carbon film — and the metal film resistors could be in two different case sizes. We had an entire floor-to-ceiling shelf unit devoted to resistors, and we kept having to buy small lots of weird resistors….
So I standardized the stockroom on small-case 1% metal film, implemented Economic Order Quantity on our purchase orders, and standardized our vendors on one that could normally deliver within three days, or overnight if expedited.
This made things easier and faster in our stockroom, at our assembly vendors, with our documentation group, in our purchasing, and for our engineering group — and started me on my, “but what do I know? I’m an accountant” thing.
I did similar things with a bunch of other parts, but…..well, I think it was in the middle of March….I put out a memo that said we were going to further simplify our resistor situation. Starting at the beginning of the next month, all of our resistors were only going to be 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 Ohms, and so on — and we should make it a priority that the boards where they were used would combine resistor values in series or parallel to accomplish the desired value.
Which is when I discovered that Swiss Chief Engineers don’t share a cultural awareness of April Fools’ Day and, further, don’t have a conventional sense of humor.

Well, I live where these big cats live. And I think they are beautiful. I respect and love all cats. But mountain lions are dangerous, destructive to livestock, and sometimes have to be killed.
I have close friend who ranches sheep. A few years back, they had a mountain lion preying on the flock. One night, the cat pulled a 200 lb. ram through an eight-inch gab in a fence, and dragged it away.
They finally trapped and killed the cat, which is legal. I saw pictures. It was a monster of a thing, over 200 pounds itself.
Mountain lions will stalk humans. We had an episode a few years back where a group of school children on a hike was stalked down the mountain by two lions, one on either side of the trail. I’ve heard people say this is not possible, that they don’t hunt that way, but it happened.
My son works out in nature, and has been certain a lion was nearby and watching him at night. He carries a weapon, but cats are sly. They hide.
Living with these creatures in close proximity changes your attitude about them pretty fast.

Today, March 6th, is a day of Global Action for Peace
In Toronto, there is a demonstration at 16:00 EST with the following demands:
– Repatriation of Canadian troops, arms and military equipment located in Europe
– That the US, NATO and EU immediately withdraw from the region and the conflict, and honour the agreement to limit
NATO’s eastern European border to Germany
– A negotiated political solution between Russia, Ukraine and the republics in the Donbas

I’m sure most of you know that hose new constitutions being written in advance by the new Convention of States propose move to regional government, which is already here in most places, and it is a trojan horse for the U.N. and Agenda 21-2030 and the WEF. Very evil. I served on my area’s Regional Planning advisory board. When my term ended, they realized I did not like Obama and Obamacare, and they would never have asked me to serve six years had they known.

Just one more thought:
Russia has the wheat exports to avert conflict in many African countries, eg Egypt, with Ukraine out of the picture. If Sisi has to chose between keeping his population under control and giving in to US demands to join sanctions on Russia, what will happen? He will strike a deal with Russia, via Chinese payment clearance, to get wheat for a discount price (=normal pricing) and leave the US be. Russia in return is looking for buyers that pay for her commodities at a discount price.
If you have to chose between feeding your population and US demands, what are you gonna do? The supply of essential commondities is a political tool in itself. And the final outcome of all of this will be: China will be the new arbiter through her payment system CIPS and her currency. What country held this position before? Yes, the US.

I thought up until a few days before Putin went in that he was not going to. Then something changed.

12 Feb, Biden speaks with Putin via phone, no transcript released.
14 Feb, Trudeau declares his emergency, and starts to disband the truckers.
18 Feb. Bill Gates stated at the Munich Security Conference that “We’ll have another pandemic. It will be a different pathogen next time,”
On 24 Feb, Putin goes in.
Now we learn that there are bio-labs all over Ukraine, and evidence was published today that the Ukrainians were working on things like anthrax on Russia’s border. I’ve also read that they were working on “Slavic-specific” types of enhancements of pathogens.
Did Biden threaten Putin somehow? Did Gates’ statement push Putin to preemptive action? I don’t know. But something changed before he attacked.
