However, he seems to have omitted the wines, so I’ll bring some information (mostly cribbed from Wikipoo).
Ohio wines tend to be made with native North American grape varieties, rather than the European winemaking varieties that are more commonly known. Nevertheless, by around 1860, Ohio produced more wine than any other state in the nation. In 1872, the Golden Eagle winery on Middle Bass Island was the largest winery in the US.

Ah, the Raspberry Pi 4.
Amazing how much computer there is in such a small package. The circuit board is the same size as a credit card, that should give everyone seeing this picture an idea of the size of this.
(and if this shows, then the commenting works)
There has been a months-long drought of the little beasties, which has been worrisome.
Those are standard USB-A connectors and a standard RJ-45, so the size of the overall board is pretty evident.
Two of the USB connectors are blue, meaning they’re USB 3. That, and the wired gigabit ethernet connection, make them an obvious way to attach disks to a network. They have HDMI that can drive 4K video — on two ports with a lousy frame rate, or nicely on one. They run bluetooth and wireless, can support a camera input, and run a 1.5G quad-core processor with 1, 2, 4, or 8G of RAM.
The reason they have such great specs so cheaply is that the silicon is made at great volume….because a Raspberry Pi is essentially a previous-generation cellphone without the phone. Since they’re whompin’-out hundreds of millions of the chips for cellphones, they can throw a million-or-so at Eben for his Pi’s quite cheaply.

But we do have to beware of the old problem of tweets slowing down the site even further. If that happens, we may have to improvise.

GREAT news. Things appear to have suddenly reversed. I am not sure if it was something I did tonight – I tried a lot of things – but it may be some assistance from “above”.
Praise God, in any case! I’m getting zippy image responses now.
It may have been something that had to propagate through — perhaps w/r/t the WP update.
It is possible. I was seeing some back end error notifications seemingly unrelated to the issues that turned positive after the update.
This explains why other sites were having the same issues. They seem fine now, too.
Ground report. Yesterday morning early, I had big problems the first time I started my iMac. Could not get some of the following sites to respond but others came up fast like normal. I had plenty of available bandwidth from my WiFi devices. I could not open anything WordPress or Twitter. This site would not load nor any of your alternate sites. I did a cold reboot of iMac and Wifi. Everything worked fine. I figured it was something on my iMac, and had let my virus software clear all the app cache data before rebooting.
I have also been having slow-loading issues…?
cleaned, defragged, scanned, rebooted…no issues…but slow-loading continues.

I think he’s actually channeling part of the reality of compartmentalization.
There are usually SOME people in IC who know what’s going on, but because these agencies DECEIVE THEIR OWN ANALYSTS – and when I say that, I mean that they deceive MOST of their analysts on MOST things MOST of the time – then what he’s saying is quite real.

We periodically go bail out or attack other countries who we claim suck to satisfy the thirst for blood and power. America has been a warrior nation since its inception and the rest of the world knows it. They know who the predators are. It took me 2 days to know. One day doing business on Wall Street and another in DC lobbying HR and Senate members.
So, to Scott’s point that he infers or states from time to time, why do we expect this will all end well without more blood being spilled if history is the best predictor of future events? The only thing that changes the steady beat to more violence and potential disaster is a complete, national conversion to Jesus Christ. Whose police and military?
Herein lies the big question. On whose side will they finally act?
The numbers are fluid. They are fluid because of optics. We are changing the numbers, and the other side is threatened by those changes.
They will keep trying to create false optics, but if we are smart, we can make all their attempts fail.
But at some point, if we cannot weaken the Bidenistas and Bidenazis enough first, they will get violent, and some of them will get violent no matter what.

Since law and justice and duty and honor are not dependent on ‘optics’, but nearly always accomplished in opposition to ‘optics’ (i.e., doing the right thing would be easy if everybody agreed), the fact that ‘they’ have not done their duty already speaks louder than a million stacked Marshall amps.
By their actions, they have already sided with the traitors, for over a year now, and counting.
Siding with law, duty, honor and justice NOW would require a radical momentum shift, a stoppage of the current direction of momentum, then a 180 degree reversal.
Which would necessarily require acknowledging that what has already been done was wrong, which in turn would require consequences and accountability for those who did what was wrong.
So in order for the police and/or military to reverse the already well established course, the police and military responsible for the current course need to condemn their own actions, and hold themselves accountable.
Because who else can do it?
And if that has ever happened in the history of the world, I’m not aware of it.
But even if we were going to have a “first time”, to whom would they turn themselves over to, in order to be held accountable, in order to reverse course?
This is why the discussion always goes nowhere, because the answers are clear.
The problem is that nobody likes the answers.

Speaking of Russian condiments, one of my favorite sauces is called “KGB Sauce.” It comes from The Vodka Cookbook, and is made with roasted hot peppers. I discovered it on a reuben sandwich in a restaurant in Spokane years ago, and tracked down a copy of the cookbook just so I could make it at home. Makes the best reuben ever!

Slice 10-12 ounces of thick-skinned red chili peppers, like hot Anaheim, in half and remove seeds and membranes. Put them on a pan cut side down, throw on three or four cloves of unpeeled garlic, drizzle with some olive oil, and roast at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes, until the skins blacken and blister.
Once they cool, peel off the skins from the peppers and the garlic. Put them in a pan with 1/2 cup of finely chopped onions, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and 2 tsp. of sugar, and stir over medium heat for five minutes. Add a T. of fresh lemon juice, four T. of decent vodka, and salt and pepper to your taste, and cook for another minute. Puree the mixture in a blender or food processor, and store in the fridge. It’ll keep for a few months.
That sounds GOOD! and I can leave out the salt making it myself.
Hubby wants your bacon Jam recipe. I read him that section of yesterday’s blog and he went YUM! And asked if you included the recipe.
Lol! It’s recipe day! I use Pioneer Woman’s:
Pioneer Woman Bacon Jam
Ingredients
1 pound (454 g) thick-cut bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 large yellow onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 shallot, minced
5 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup (180 ml) brewed coffee
½ cup (120 ml) water
⅓ cup (80 ml) cider vinegar
⅓ cup (104 g) maple syrup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon chili powder
Using a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot, cook bacon over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp, about 20 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels.
Then reduce the heat to medium and add the onion, shallot, and garlic to the rendered fat in the pot.
Cook, stirring occasionally until the onions are completely softened, about 10 minutes.
Add the bacon back to the pot, then the coffee, water, vinegar, maple syrup, brown sugar, honey, allspice, and chili powder.
Stir occasionally as you bring it to a simmer (cut down the heat if it’s actually boiling) and cook until the mixture thickens and a rubber spatula or wooden spoon leaves a distinct trail across the bottom of the pot, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Remove the bacon mixture from the heat and allow it to cool for 15 minutes.
Transfer the mixture to the bowl of a food processor using a slotted spoon, make sure to discard any excess fat.
Pulse the bacon mixture until finely chopped, about five pulses, or to your desired consistency.
If you plan to store the jam in the refrigerator, store it in a tight-fitting glass jar.
Serve your Pioneer Woman Bacon Jam at room temperature.

I think, for mail-in voting in general, there is a ballot carrier envelope that goes inside another envelope. So I don’t think those ID numbers can be seen by the public.
But I don’t understand what is so difficult. If you have a driver’s license, that number is on file with the state. And you have it on your DL card. How hard is it to write that number on the envelope? Everyone makes mistakes, and I can see how some people might leave out digits or transpose them, but that many people? I suspect they did not read the instructions.

I watched it on a YouTube video. Interesting – but this is more interesting, because it puts it in context. I believe that Russia suspected the Ukrainian labs were CUT-OUTS just like Wuhan. My suspicion is that they were doing GAIN OF FUNCTION research.

AAA was on Fox this am warning of gas tank thieves in CA. They’re totally bypassing gas caps and drilling holes in gas tanks and draining into containers. Costs $1000 to repair.😭 Told viewers to park near well trafficked foot paths, preferably in front of cameras.

Hrmmm… wouldn’t there be a fire hazard with putting a hot spinning drill through a gas tank’s door and plastic cap? There is some oxygen and all that gas.
Work on gas tanks is generally done when they’re full. You can get sprayed with gasoline and it might be on fire. If you work on tanks when they’re not quite empty, they might hit that magic fuel/air mix where they ‘splode.
And another reason for not letting your gas tank go below a quarter full is that some cars (that have a gas pump actually in the tank) use the gasoline to cool the little motor of the pump. I had a VW Passat Wagon years ago (’95 model, lasted 200K miles) that blew the fuse for the pump, and the ADAC fellow showed me that. Whodathunkit.
And here I was thinking about the strict NEC regulations for wiring gas stations… but that little motor was hermetically-sealed ( IIRC 😮 )…
Said they go underneath car and drill hole directly in tank. So to repair, must buy a whole new tank + labor, $1000K.

My uncle died this morning. My mom had just gotten all the arrangements the way he wanted them to be yesterday. His daughter, my cousin, had been trying to have him put on suicide watch.
My aunt called to let me know, early this afternoon.
I wish I’d known him better.

Oddly, I just remembered a moment. I was about eight. He had a puzzle of four cubes with different colors on their faces. They were arranged so that, when stacked, each long side (4×1) had four different colors. He showed them to me then rolled ’em onto a table.
Then I picked ’em up and handed ’em back — in a stack where no color was repeated on the long sides. He seemed miffed, having previously spent considerable time in working out the puzzle.
I, on the other hand — and my parents knew in seconds — just watched intently how the cubes rolled, and mentally “unrolled” each one. If he’d rolled them into a sack, or had me look the other way, he might have seen how long it would take to compute my way to the solution. But “unrolling the roll” was nearly instantaneous.
I haven’t thought about that in 50 years.
If anyone is praying for “happy memories” of my uncle, this might seem like one. But it also likely flagged me as a threat in his mind….which came roaring back, with interest, about 20 years later. Though it seemed like a fun game at the time to run around the implied challenge, we might have been closer if I hadn’t.

Michael Flynn appears before Jan. 6 panel, invokes Fifth Amendment rights

Former Trump National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. (Ret) Michael Flynn appeared Thursday before the Democrat-controlled House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and exercised his Fifth Amendment rights in response to the panel’s questions, his attorney says.
Flynn was subpoenaed to appear before the committee in November, 2021 and was also asked to produce documents and testimony in reference to a Dec. 18, 2020 meeting in the Oval Office, during which the seizure of voting machines was allegedly discussed.
In the letter sent to Flynn by the committee in December, members wrote that he and others discussed declaring a national emergency as part of a plan to promote the message that the presidential election has been “tainted by widespread fraud.”
He was also allegedly involved in efforts to draft memos to seize voting machines that Trump ultimately did not sign.
