Unlike Epstein, I have met Liz Cheney (and her parents) and have a actual basis on which to question her ethics and political motivations.
After I sat next to her at a luncheon about a year into Obama’s first term, she invited me to an intimate and private dinner with two of George W. Bush’s former national security advisers. The four of us spent several hours discussing Iran, Iraq, al-Qaeda, and Israel, and it was clear that Cheney was preparing to launch her political career, for which she had high aspirations. She asked me to write a white paper on why Israel is a strategic asset to the United States and offered to pay me $2,000 for my product. I spent one month thoroughly researching the 6,000-word paper, which was edited by a highly respected former NSA official, foreign policy expert, journalist, and conservative thinker.
After receiving the final paper from both of us in separate emails, Cheney never responded. She went completely MIA. To this day, I have no idea if she ever used the paper in her campaign or work in Congress. She never thanked me, never paid me, and never reached out to me again. I would call that rude, unprofessional, and certainly unethical. It showed a lack of character and morals, but it also showed hubris — the kind we often see from politicians like Obama and Hillary, who not only believe themselves above the law, but believe they are entitled to their power and the rest of us are here to serve them.
ENEMIES OF THE REGIME
In reality Dugin’s proximity to Putin and the scale of his influence over him remains persistently exaggerated for reasons more to do with Dugin’s influence in the West than in Moscow, and the Western elite’s increasingly narcissistic and totalitarian character. Dugin is both the best-known contemporary Russian philosopher and among the most influential philosophers associated with the global reactionary Right. In connecting his positions to Putin the suggestion is floated that this whole school of thought, and ultimately all political dissidence, is directed from Moscow as a subversion strategy, without any real substance, or legitimate grievance, and therefore may be suppressed, as opposed to acknowledged and reckoned with….
Ubiquitous accusations of fascism belong to the same register albeit in more metaphysical, if equally delusional terms. Russia at least is a concrete geopolitical actor. Fascism and its various cognates (the far-right, white supremacism, etc.) is a supernatural contagion, somehow perpetually “rising” inversely to progressive political victories. Dugin himself has already registered the main thrust of this logic:
“First of all, they view all their enemies as fascists. After that, they begin to kill them because they are fascists. Nobody investigates anything. That’s just Bolshevism, just like in the Bolshevik Revolution or in the French Revolution. Everybody who is declared an enemy of the revolution should be exterminated.”
Fascism in this sense represents little more than the term of choice to dehumanise enemies of a paranoid political regime in order to persecute them. Nothing about this is new. In sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe the terms gazari and vaudois, after the destroyed Cathar and Waldensian heresies, were used the same way to propagate the orgy of murder today known as the witch trials.

Today, we call it atomization. We believe it is especially driven by technology. But it’s not simply the machines that are creating human automatons. We have allowed the machines to create and shape our metaphysics. Part of the problem is that we have lost the threads between different spheres of life. There is no longer a difference between the public and the private self. Such notions are absent from the intellectual discussion.
People do engage with one another, but just like the endless stream of tweets, the discourse is shallow, uninformed, and narcissistic. Do we really expect to create a culture that thrives on creativity in an environment that is this toxic? Are we really that blind to the reality of a constant feedback loop that is clearly shaping an insane society that cannot sustain itself any longer?
Politics is one of the essential spheres of life. Even if we don’t consider ourselves overly political, as citizens, we engage in politics in one form or another. What happens when this particular sphere is overtaken by irrationality and corruption? A citizen will either acquiesce or fight. But what kind of life is one of submission or perpetual reaction? Either way, creation loses, and destruction wins.

While I rarely disagree with Victor Davis Hanson, I have to take exception to what he said on Mark Levin’s Fox show, August 14: “We’re no longer a republic anymore. We’re in a transition to a radical democracy.”
No blinkers here. Yes, the republic is imperiled, but is it finished? Unintentional, no doubt, but saying that America is cooked is tantamount to waving a big, white flag. Where’s the righteous indignation and warrior spirit so necessary to winning this fight?
Do we want to send messages of defeat to tens of millions of patriots? Mission accomplished for Democrats and their allies? Bye, bye, rule of law? Good luck maneuvering through all the antiliberty landmines?

Yes that is a mess even when birds fly into the window and break their neck. We put something on the front windows that is helping for birds to see that they cannot fly through.

ONE window in particular, birds commonly flew into it. Bird hits, LOUD BANG. Scare the hell out of us. Never got used to it.
Guess the birds were fine. No dead ones or injured that we saw. Nor broken windows.

Silicone Spray!!! WD-40 will gum things up. I have a mechanical Eng. friend who every time he had to make a call in a factory, the first thing he would do is confiscate ALL the WD-40.
He told me it is NOT really a lubricant so much as something used to repel water.
I had the darn stuff repeatedly gum up the throttle on my VW and on his recommendation switched to silicone spray. Never had a problem after that.
We do not have any in the house.

The day my father passed away onJune 21st in a hospital there was a therapy dog down the hallway. I so wanted to ask the handler if she could come into my father’s room but somehow, when I went down to look for her she had gone.
She could easily have been an angel, sent to minister to a patient. Hospital is a fertile ground for seeing angels.
Pretty much proves that the communists are setting OTHER PEOPLE’S HOUSES on fire – that THAT is their goal.

In the same week, I found out someone filed for 2021 NYS unemployment benefits in my name and a medical billing company was hacked, exposing my personal information.

If the government were serious about doing right by its citizens, neither of these things would’ve happened.
NYS sent me a bill for taxes due on the benefits.
Typical. They hand out benefits willy-nilly with insufficient controls, then make it your problem to fix their mistakes.
They hate us and they tried to kill us.

I got hit with the unemployment thing. Used my SSN. Thankfully, they mailed a confirmation letter to my real address.
I didn’t know anything about it until I got a bill from NYS Dept. of Taxation that said I neglected to include the unemployment benefits income on my taxes and I needed to pay up.

Several years back around Christmas time I was leaving Academy with my small niece. I had unlocked car and thrown purse and packages in driver’s seat. A woman approached talking about needing x amount of dollars and change for a car part. I could see her car on the next row down w/the hood up. I immediately shoved little niece in back, told her to lock door, whle keeping a side eye on the left side of my car in case someone was approaching from that direction. The woman who was pleading, I told her no and to go away several times, got in my car and locked door. She was mad but went back to her car. I sat there for a while and watched as she moved her car several rows over AND another car at the end of the row followed her. They were re-positioning to try the scam on others. Never talk to anyone who approaches you in the parking lot!!!

Yours Truly has decided that it’s time to alert / warn the members of my family about the dangers of the COVID-19 “vaccines” that they have in their bodies. Other than Yours Truly as the only “holdout”, the rest of them, from my siblings, my son and his household, all the way down to my great-nieces and great-nephews, are “fully vaccinated” and/or “boosted.”
Several family members have already had “breakthrough cases” of COVID-19; others have had adverse events, like heart issues, after “vaccination.” Several of them are healthcare professionals — one RN and two MD’s.
Yours Truly plans to use emails to send the alert / warning. The language will be couched in “Look, I love you but I’m concerned about you. I’m not telling you how to run your life, please read my message below.”
The LAST thing I want to do is sound “preachy”, make the email too long, or make it sound as if I’m blaming them for the decisions they made.
Yours Truly realizes that there’s a possibility that the alert / warning will be dismissed and/or rile people up. However, these are risks that Yours Truly feels must be taken.

I can vouch for magnesium as being extremely helpful for disease damage.
I had those excruciating foot cramps during the night. OMG, the agony and fright. The thought goes through your head every time that this time the cramp might last longer than a minute or two (never did).
Started taking magnesium according to advice here. No cramps for a couple years now. Turns out that magnesium deficiency IS a cause of nighttime foot cramps.
BTW, I had occasion to become familiar with arsenic poisoning. I learned that sickness/death from arsenic poisoning was particularly gruesome because of the hideous cramping it causes. When I got foot cramps, I would think of the people who suffered from arsenic poisoning and realized how almost everything can be worse than it is.
Potassium (K) will also give you muscle cramps. I get them all the time.
I take Mg as well as K.
Flashing light migraines in me are caused by low K. A Dr Atkins shake (High K & Mg) or just a K pill ends it in about 10 minutes.

My sister had the capacity to be a saint, and in many ways she WAS saintly. But she was infected with hatred she did not recognize as such, hatred which was a product of her environment and God knows what else. Resentment, and a profound sense of victimhood, which was also profoundly false.
I have been reading Tolstoy’s novel, Resurrection. Tolstoy had a direct insight into humanity. I woke up this morning thinking about the book, and a thought occurred to me.
God is always offering a way to Jesus for those who might have the slightest of open minds. And one way He does that is through extreme polarization, where you have to choose to have an open mind or not.
Many choose to keep their minds shut, even understanding at some level how wrong that choice is. A closed mind is more than a comfortable buffer. A closed mind is essential to holding on to the addiction of hatred.

I ALWAYS would go to the Brooklyn Academy of Music to watch foreign films, and was almost always one of a very few people watching in their wonderful theatre. How they could afford to do that I don’t know, but it was great for me.
I ALWAYS spent an afternoon in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens – – just beautiful. I loved seeing the Grand Army Plaza when walking there and back.
i ALWAYS ate at a breakfast place at 5th Ave and 9th St (IIRC). The breakfast was good, but it was just a wonderful place to eat and watch people.
There was a bar (I forget where, or the name) which was a Buffalo Bills bar. Once I went to watch a Bills game, and the place was packed mostly with former Buffalonians. And it was just interesting to go to a bar in Brooklyn with Buffalo memorabilia on the walls. Talk about a hick’s pride!
I want to say something I have said before. In my experience New Yorkers, and Park Slope residents in particular, were some of the nicest, most interesting, thoughtful, even charming people you could ever want to meet. Certainly my sister was.
But they were also super-parochial and close minded. That part is very easy to ignore if you maneuver around their epistemic closure and simply enjoy their wonderful spirit.

Yours Truly completely understands what you’re saying. Yep, it’s one of those “I won’t be able to live with my conscience if something happens to them and I hadn’t said anything” scenarios.
When my late mother was getting sicker and sicker, I tried to warn my siblings that things were going very wrong and they needed to help me in helping our father. Basically, each chose to do very little or nothing. Sister showed up when Mother went into the coma that eventually ended her life. Brother showed up at Mother’s funeral.
Ten years later, when our father began to decline rapidly, they both did step up to the plate — Yours Truly feels that they had “missed the boat” regarding Mother and weren’t going to let that happen with Daddy.
At the same time, Yours Truly knows that she needs to take care of herself.
IMO, it’s a tough situation. Perhaps similar ones are being lived by many other UN-“vaccinated” people regarding their “vaccinated and boosted” loved ones.
They are adults and make their choices. All you can do is offer information.

I tried really, really hard to follow Webb a few years back, and could never make head or tail of what he was getting at. People LOVED him, and I would ask them what was he saying, and never got a good explanation. It was over my head.
Without speculating about who is behind Webb, I will say this. The man is a relentless “early digger” – a bit like a digging mammal unleashed in a garden. He is a “plot uncoverer” – not always complete – not always the best perspective – but he exposes so much.

Supposedly Tesla batteries are now good for half a million miles (though still only warranteed for 100K), but the excessive charging times, limited stations, with many of them chronically out of order, makes them no damn good for road trips…and that’s aside from battery fires, costs, etc. I’m taking them “as advertised” and still…no good.
What might actually work for me–assuming the fires, etc. are solved–would be a plug in hybrid. It’d have a battery, but it would ALSO have a generator with a 5-10 gallon gas tank. The generator would charge the battery (so you don’t have two separate drive trains), and you could fill up its gas tank quickly. 90 percent of the time, you’d just plug it in, but for the other ten percent of the time, you’d have the ability to burn gasoline. It wouldn’t be terribly efficient as a gas burner, but you only have that for when you really need it.
Actually, there’s something to be said for hybrids. You’re trading a generator/motor thing for a transmission — and for long hauls, it’s extremely efficient (witness the fact that most modern railroad locomotives are diesel-electric). You generally can’t get a jackrabbit start on one, however, no matter how hard you try and how badly you need it.
Really? Why would they limit a hybrid in that way? It should be every bit as capable of low speed torque as any electric car. (And Teslas excel here, as does the (hybrid, but primarily gas) Acura NSX.)
I’m talking about a car that would preferentially use the batteries by default, not the generator (obviously, you’d want to be able to override it on road trips). In fact if I had such a car, I’d probably never put gas in it except on longer trips, at least so long as electricity is cheaper than gasoline.
And I do tend to do jackrabbit starts.
Nothing is more consistently frustrating to me than the 99 percent of humanity that takes their own sweet time pulling out of a traffic light…only to just barely miss the next light. If I’m actually in front, I regularly blow people away, because they come off the mark like snails. This includes people who COULD blow the doors off me…they just don’t.
And I’m not even pushing the car hard.
I was on a six lane road (three each side) next to a Tesla Y (or X?) and that sucker would jackrabbit like nothing else. That driver understood what the vertical pedal (can’t call it the ‘gas pedal’) was for. One block, there were two cars waiting for the light, the Tesla took the right hand lane. I knew which of the three I wanted to be behind; that Tesla was no constraint on me. Then I realized they had a bumper sticker that was a rendition of the Tesla Plaid “launch” on-screen pattern (you can see it on youtube videos).
We’re keeping our son’s 2013 Chevy Volt while he’s deployed for 2 years in Bahrain. It’ a nice little car with 40 miles of Electric range and +/- 283 miles on its gasoline engine. Not bad. A nice riding car, etc. We use it now for going to/from work and we always use the electric side. No problems.
I would NEVER buy an electric/Hybrid car. Very expensive. My son told me when he needs to replace the battery it’s something like $14K. Don’t know for sure, but, what the hey … I’m a Boomer …
That’s a primarily gas car with an electric helper; I’m talking about a primarily electric car with a gas helper.
I wouldn’t even think of it under today’s circumstances (crappy batteries, astronomical up front cost, astronomical battery replacement cost).
For anyone interested, here is an interview of Gregg Phillips by Steve Shultz. I do not know who Shultz is, but I appreciate that he let Phillips talk. It is a little over an hour long and can be listened to while doing other things. I find Phillips to be an interesting speaker, and he gives info on his background, his bout with cancer, how he came to work with Catherine, The Pit, Fusion Centers, and the work that is ongoing.
Phillips says protectamerica.vote has the greatest opportunity for success. It is the site that connects citizens with sheriffs. The site says, “This is a nonpartisan effort to ensure all legal votes are counted accurately and appropriately.”
There are 3100 sheriffs in the country. They are the most powerful law enforcement entities in America and are the chief law enforcement officers in their counties. They can investigate and arrest people. Gregg’s team will provide them with geospatial data, videos, and bundles of information. About 800 sheriffs are on board at this time. Phillips: “It’s going to be interesting in 2022. It’s going to be game-changing in 2024.”
The Fusion Center will be bundling technology and giving grants to sheriffs who don’t have the budget for advanced technology.
At the end he emphasizes that everyone must vote according to the rules in their area. He said *they* can’t overcome even early voting numbers if everyone will just vote. He also said his group has contingency plans for every state.

I do have some sympathy for those who took out those loans in the belief that their college degree would be worth enough in the job market to pay them back. They’ve been defrauded, by the education system.
That doesn’t mean WE should have to pay, but rather the colleges. I like the idea bandied about, where one could surrender one’s degree in exchange for the educational institution having to pay the loan off.
I like that. Shrink those bloated endowments!!!
I hesitate to call a degree ‘useless’ just because it doesn’t help in the job market. As long as it represents real knowledge it’s not useless.
So, say, a history degree isn’t ‘useless’ even if the only thing you can do with it is teach history…but that’s fine, because we should all know history!
Unfortunately today many degrees don’t represent real knowledge…women’s studies, underwater basketweaving, etc.
Education degrees are an odd case. They’re certainly useful in the job market, but the education part of the curriculum is likely knowledge-free…of course they’re supposed to take a ‘real’ subject (the one they will be teaching) as well, but often that’s dumbed down so they can take the hours of education courses.
One of the most accidentally-insulting moments of my life was when someone saw I had an M.E. degree and guessed aloud that it was “Master of Education” rather than “Master of Engineering.” It was, fortunately, over the phone so they couldn’t see my reaction, and I calmly corrected them. I’m sure my face was a riot.
You should have seen my face when I got my ‘Bachelor of ARTS in Chemistry instead of my Bachelor of SCIENCE because I had taken EDUMUCATION COURSES….
Lucky for them I was still in the ‘very polite’ phase of my life.
The course load is entirely different. While THEY took ONE semester of algebra I took two years of calculus. If you include my high school calc, it was three. All my science courses were with the Chem. Engineers not the watered down pap they served up teachers and nursing majors.

In engineering school there was of course a continued rivalry among the various majors as to which one was hardest.
I considered it very close between electrical engineers and chemical engineers, but of course gave the edge to the EEs.
There was (and likely still is) a substantial aerospace engineering program there, and they weren’t too happy with that argument.
…. CHEM ENGINEERING IS HARDER! A least where I went to school. I was SUPPOSED to be a chem engineering major but they swapped me into straight chemistry WITHOUT TELLING ME OR MY PARENTS. It is one of the reasons I was flaming made to start with.We did not find out until towards the end of my junior year since I was in classes with the Chem engineers.
(Girls weren’t ALLOWED to be engineers back then.)
…and, I didn’t realize it was that badly watered down for the edumucation majors. They probably got the same watered down chemistry I got, or maybe even more so. But they were supposedly chem majors, and I was not.
As far as that rivalry I mentioned previously is concerned, it was, of course, taken as a given that the hardest engineering major was going to be harder than anything in any of the other nine schools on that campus (excluding, most likely the graduate school).
I know a little what goes on in Universities through my husband.
I/3 of students are good hardworking young adults and will do well when they graduate. Many have a job while going to school. 1/3 of students struggle with math still do well in teaching programs work but have not been prepared for college by the High School. Most are C- C+ student . They would have done well in two year college
Then come the jerk offs. They pay no attention think they are on a gravy train. They party do pot and drink to much play with their phones in class think the professor is a joke and cheat. That is the group who feels they do not need algebra and barely can do 8th grade math. Some cannot write or speak but play lots of video games and think they are computer wizards. They often take a class two times just to up it to a D so it looks they passed on their transcript. They go on Spring break all on financial aid. Some parents pay their way but kids are not motivated. They never should be in University. Many come out with lots of loans cannot get a job and if they do they get let go. The way they skip class and come late not do their work that is what they bring into the workplace. The problem is many Universities have open admission.
Some of those students go into military and come out as changed people. My husband had many of those who did seek him out and told him that they were jerks. They turned into his top performers in class. Discipline seems the key.

Reminds me of an observation I made today. At the check out stand and realized I don’t think the tabloid press, like the Enquirer and others run any stories on vax injuries or the like.
