I’m very fond of the Russian people and their outlook, but I found the Russian language to be a hot mess — despite so many English words and Russian words being the same once you get past the Cyrillic. [“Restaurant”, for instance, is “PECTOPAH”; “tractor” is “TPAKTOP”.]
Even with so many hints, however, things that are very simple in English (“Help me, I’m bleeding”) come across as several paragraphs from Homer’s Catalogue of Ships in Russian; whereas some very complicated constructs in English (“Surely, it is acceptable to expand an anti-Russian military alliance well into the heartland of the Russian Federation….”) translate into short monosyllables (“Nyet.”).
When the Fiancee and I went to Russia, we decided to run down the street yelling “Tiger, tiger” or “Drakon, drakon” in the event we needed help rapidly. We’d likely get help more quickly, and could discuss having lost our minds at some leisure afterward.

Maybe not strictly related, but the relentless anthropomorphism all over the place always make me wonder if there is some underlying psychological thing going on, especially because the “awww that’s so cute” factor has such strong emotional similarities to virtue signaling.
The internet has opened up our psyches in ways unimaginable. I do not want to be specific, because I do not want to sound like a cold hearted bastard. But our psyches have been freed in ways which would just not be done in person or close proximity.

I grew up right after WWII. I never heard anyone speak nice about Hitler. They all said the harm he had done and the harm out ways the good.
On the other hand , after East Germany fell and I visited Germany I heard lots of East Germans speak of the good old times under communism.
One can come to the conclusion that after WWII no one wanted to admit how they truly felt or they were so worn from the War II and aftermath that Hitler was the last person they would speak nice about. I did hear however some people say that Hitler had been crazy and evil.
The East Germans had a hard time assimilating into West Germany for various reasons. That might have contributed to the sentiment of good ol days because there was strong family ties and everyone relied on others. I do not think they wanted communism back just the simple life and the connection they had in hard times with family and friends.
I remember hearing and reading similar after the fall of the Soviet Union.
It wasn’t easy going at first, with the change and upheaval, and apparently many longed for the relative comfort of the way it had been before.
Same as the Jews in Exodus. Wandering in the desert gets old after a while, 40 years is a long time, and living under the tyranny of the Egyptians started to seem less bad.

How can that be measured or quantified, beyond anecdotal feel-goodism reports?
It’s as if half of us (patriots) are living in some fantasy bubble where reality never encroaches, we just float around on a cloud of narrative and hopium, based on zero evidence, based purely on NARRATIVE that comes from ANONYMOUS people.
Under any other circumstance, that would be insane, and the people caught in that spell would say it was insane too.
But they’re caught in it, they’re eating the Lotus Flowers now, so they don’t see it.
Worse, they keep imploring those of us who are NOT eating the Lotus Flowers to just try one, you’ll like it. Stop worrying about facts and evidence and logic and reason and history and human nature, chew on a Lotus Flower, tune out, eat some popcorn, and enjoy the movie.
It’s like our own side has been infiltrated and half of us are now pod-people.

How can we ever know “when” people are “FULLY” awakened?
How do you test for that?
How do you ever stop moving the goal posts, to get just one more person fully awakened?

And even if there were ‘enough’ of them, WHAT would happen next as a result?

Yes, we can always straddle the gap, thereby recognizing at least some segment of reality, by commenting on how “it” (whatever ‘it’ is) isn’t happening fast enough.

All right, I was thinking about this while I was trying to do something else, and an analogy occurred to me.
If you have ever seen David Mamet’s House of Games (1987), or similar films, it may help.

It’s basically about a con, or what might be called the ‘long con’, the kind that requires a lot of groundwork to be laid, but the payoff is presumed to be worth the effort.
I’ll use a short(er) con for an example or analogy. Something similar is taking place in recent news stories.
Suppose a friendly stranger named Tony makes your acquaintance. Tony has a sob story, he owes some money to some loan shark. He was desperate for the money, so he played the lottery, and he won.
$1 million bucks. He shows you the lottery ticket, and it looks real.
But he can’t collect for at least a week, because the lottery commission has to verify the ticket, paperwork has to be filled out, etc., and Tony needs $10K before the end of the day, or Johnny Two-Knives is going to cut him up and leave him for dead.
If you will give him $10K cash, Tony will give you the lotto ticket, and you get the million dollars. It’s a good deal for Tony, because a million dollars is worth nothing to him if he’s dead, and it’s a good deal for you, because you get a million bucks tomorrow in exchange for $10K today.
It’s a beautiful narrative. What could go wrong?
That’s the problem. It could be true. Tony’s whole narrative could be on the up and up. It’s possible.
And we really want to believe it’s true. Really, really want to believe it. That’s the hook.
HOWEVER, it is equally possible that Tony is just a con-man, the lottery ticket and the whole narrative is bogus, and this is just a scheme to trick you out of $10K.
TWO possibilities. One possibility fits the narrative we want to believe, and the other possibility fits the one we don’t want to believe.
There’s no easy way to verify which is true.
So in any such scenario, where something could be true, but in the absence of any evidence to the contrary, it could also just as easily be a scam, which is the more likely possibility?
Is it more likely to be true, or is it more likely to be a scam, all other things being equal?
If we can’t tell for sure either way, then we have to default to “scam”, unless you want to be the guy on the local news who gave some stranger $10K cash in exchange for a laundry ticket.
Okay, that’s one example.
Here’s another.
Your country is slipping away. Things are rotten from the inside out. The situation is seemingly and practically hopeless.
Then some anonymous person on the Interwebs drops a MOAN on 4Chan, the Mother of All Narratives.
The narrative appeals to every instinct of intellectually curious and frustrated (and desperate) people. It hits all the right notes, uses the right lingo, appeals to the right preconceived notions (fair play, patriotism, injustice, righting wrongs, Big Pharma, Federal Reserve, Vatican, Rothschilds, etc.).
Every conspiracy we’ve ever heard, all mixed together in a narrative that has us searching to connect dots where no dots can actually be proven to exist.
It’s a beautiful narrative. An entire industry springs up around this narrative, people who are ‘interpreters’ and ‘analyzers’ and many regular everyday Americans become youtube stars.
It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s a cause for hope, it’s interesting, it’s something for people of many backgrounds to rally around, it’s wholesome, and it plays to all of our strengths and weaknesses.
Critically, none of it is falsifiable. None of it can be proven false (or true).
It could also be an enemy psy-op, designed to placate the people who are wide awake, and give them a plausible excuse to sit back and do nothing while the enemy takes over the country by stealth and infiltration.
So that’s TWO possibilities. One possibility fits the narrative we want to believe, and the other possibility fits the one we don’t want to believe.
There’s no easy way to verify which is true.

In your con man scenario, real money is at stake and it is clear who does what, when they do it, and why. In the “plan” scenario, there is no evidence that anyone is following some con and doing nothing.
A scam requires a mark, a person being conned, a person who is damaged by the scam. I don’t see that person.

If lots of talk is the objective, if that is the end game, then whatever ‘it’ is, it’s a smashing success. At least among our kind.
But if the end game is to save the Republic, someday, at some point in the distant future that is never even hinted at, lest the day should come and go without anything happening, and the goal posts need moving again — then from the perspective of a prospective enemy, the smashing success is theirs, not ours.

Too much to write in respose. I understand the point(s) you’re making and agree with much of what you say. I don’t think it’s healthy to wait on someone else’s plan and do nothing. I also don’t see people doing nothing. Yes, we talk here. Two things about that: 1) We don’t know what people do outside of this forum, and 2) Talk is not nothing. The effects of our words can be, and have been, far reaching. We learn from one another as well, and spread our knowledge beyond what is written here. So I do not agree with any concept that says people are doing nothing and just waiting. However, that could be said of some people in positions of power, like those who won’t do anything about election fraud and the stolen election, members of Congress, and, as you have stated many times, the military (though I am not expert enough to judge their actions).
Since you lament the lack of action, maybe you could state some actions you think people here could be taking that would show they’re not just trusting a plan.

As for biases, I try to mitigate them with caveats like “it doesn’t matter what I think about it, but it does matter what we can prove or not prove“, or “I don’t want anyone to take my word for it, try it yourself and see“, and similar expressions that I employ regularly.
It’s not about me or my biases, I don’t ask anyone to take my word for anything — and why would I? What point would there be in that?
One of the great things about a written forum is that we don’t have to take anyone’s word for anything. We can post evidence to support our positions (photos, quotes, links, etc.), and / or present a rational argument that someone else can either counter and defeat, or they can’t.

Yesterday I stumbled across some very sobering discussions on Reddit of all places about the UK energy crisis. In short, many businesses can’t afford their electric bills, their customers have no discretionary income to keep visiting them, and there are rumors going around about government schools cutting down to 2-3 day a week in order to stay open. They’re facing peak COVID-levels of disruption if this goes on long enough. Many are demanding that the government step in. I’m sure the government has a solution to the problems the government itself created, and one that involves a massive power grab.
It feels like we have window of “normalcy” (or whatever passes for it these days) to get things taken care of before the world goes crazy again. I’m getting my affairs in order like it’s summer 2019 and suggest you all do the same.

One reason I hear for not being able to homeschool is that both parents must work.

So they can afford the house payment for the house in the good neighborhood with the good school.
And of course there ARE no good government schools any more.

But the Greenland icecap (and Antarctic Icecap) are not floating. They’re higher than they would be if they were floating. So if they melt, runoff goes into the ocean and raises the sea level.
Only if the icecap were below the level it would be at if it were freely allowed to float, would the sea level go down…that’s analogous to the case of ice in a closed water bottle (the ice is held below its float level in the bottle).

The neocon movement emerged in the 1970s around a group of public intellectuals, several of whom were influenced by University of Chicago political scientist Leo Strauss and Yale University classicist Donald Kagan. Neocon leaders included Norman Podhoretz, Irving Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz, Robert Kagan (son of Donald), Frederick Kagan (son of Donald), Victoria Nuland (wife of Robert), Elliott Cohen, Elliott Abrams and Kimberley Allen Kagan (wife of Frederick).
The main message of the neocons is that the U.S. must predominate in military power in every region of the world and must confront rising regional powers that could someday challenge U.S. global or regional dominance, most important Russia and China. For this purpose, U.S. military force should be pre-positioned in hundreds of military bases around the world and the U.S. should be prepared to lead wars of choice as necessary. The United Nations is to be used by the U.S. only when useful for U.S. purposes.
Wolfowitz Spelled It Out
This approach was spelled out first by Paul Wolfowitz in his draft Defense Policy Guidance (DPG) written for the Department of Defense in 2002. The draft called for extending the U.S.-led security network to Central and Eastern Europe despite the explicit promise by German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher in 1990 that German unification would not be followed by NATO’s eastward enlargement.

Wolfowitz also made the case for American wars of choice, defending America’s right to act independently, even alone, in response to crises of concern to the U.S. According to General Wesley Clark, Wolfowitz already made clear to Clark in May 1991 that the U.S. would lead regime-change operations in Iraq, Syria and other former Soviet allies.
The neocons championed NATO enlargement to Ukraine even before that became official U.S. policy under President George W. Bush, Jr. in 2008. They viewed Ukraine’s NATO membership as key to U.S. regional and global dominance. Robert Kagan spelled out the neocon case for NATO enlargement in April 2006:
Kagan acknowledged the dire implication of NATO enlargement. He quotes one expert as saying, “the Kremlin is getting ready for the ‘battle for Ukraine’ in all seriousness.”
The neocons sought this battle. After the fall of the Soviet Union, both the U.S. and Russia should have sought a neutral Ukraine, as a prudent buffer and safety valve. Instead, the neocons wanted U.S. “hegemony” while the Russians took up the battle partly in defense and partly out of their own imperial pretensions as well. Shades of the Crimean War (1853-6), when Britain and France sought to weaken Russia in the Black Sea following Russian pressures on the Ottoman empire.
Kagan penned the article as a private citizen while his wife Victoria Nuland was the U.S. ambassador to NATO under George W. Bush, Jr.
Nuland has been the neocon operative par excellence. In addition to serving as Bush’s ambassador to NATO, Nuland was President Barack Obama’s assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs during 2013-17, when she participated in the overthrow of Ukraine’s pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych and now serves as Biden’s undersecretary of state guiding U.S. policy vis-à-vis the war in Ukraine.
The neocon outlook is based on an overriding false premise: that the U.S. military, financial, technological, and economic superiority enables it to dictate terms in all regions of the world. It is a position of both remarkable hubris and remarkable disdain of evidence.
Since the 1950s, the U.S. has been stymied or defeated in nearly every regional conflict in which it has participated. Yet in the “battle for Ukraine,” the neocons were ready to provoke a military confrontation with Russia by expanding NATO over Russia’s vehement objections because they fervently believe that Russia will be defeated by U.S. financial sanctions and NATO weaponry.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a neocon think-tank led by Kimberley Allen Kagan (and backed by a who’s who of defense contractors such as General Dynamics and Raytheon), continues to promise a Ukrainian victory.
The facts on the ground, however, suggest otherwise. The West’s economic sanctions have had little adverse impact on Russia, while their “boomerang” effect on the rest of the world has been large.
oreover, the U.S. capacity to resupply Ukraine with ammunition and weaponry is seriously hamstrung by America’s limited production capacity and broken supply chains. Russia’s industrial capacity of course dwarfs that of Ukraine’s. Russia’s GDP was roughly 10X that of Ukraine before the war and Ukraine has now lost much of its industrial capacity in the war.
The most likely outcome of the current fighting is that Russia will conquer a large swath of Ukraine, perhaps leaving Ukraine landlocked or nearly so. Frustration will rise in Europe and the U.S. with the military losses and the stagflationary consequences of war and sanctions.
The knock-on effects could be devastating, if a right-wing demagogue in the U.S. rises to power (or in the case of Trump, returns to power) promising to restore America’s faded military glory through dangerous escalation.
Instead of risking this disaster, the real solution is to end the neocon fantasies of the past 30 years and for Ukraine and Russia to return to the negotiating table, with NATO committing to end its commitment to the eastward enlargement to Ukraine and Georgia in return for a viable peace that respects and protects Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This is another great interview of Gregg Phillips (GP), this time by “Man in America.” It’s a little over an hour long. The first part covers the research Gregg and Catherine were doing, how they worked with the FIB, and how the FIB turned on them. I can’t adequately describe the details and the gravity of what they found regarding our election information being run on Chinese servers and being owned by the Chinese government. It’s not just in China, either. There are connections in many US cities.
They also mentioned all the trips to China by politicians including mayors, state secretaries of state, on up, and how they get blackmailed. Example: a morally upright man resists all the temptations they put before him, but his drink gets spiked and he wakes up with a woman in his bed and of course cameras in the room. Or worse, a child, or (horribly) a dead child. The politicians are going there to talk to the Chinese about our elections or how we run our small towns. There is no reason for this to be happening.
People who have heard all of this might want to skip this part, but IMO it is worth the listen. It is also a travesty that the media is not covering this.
The rest of it is very revealing. At 49:00 GP says Republicans could have stopped a lot of the election problems, but didn’t. Some voted against good election laws. Then he talks about his and Catherine’s strategy moving forward.
One thing they’ve learned is that much of the fraud is process based. You can watch the cheaters manipulate the processes that they believe can help them. He is sure there are problems with voting machines, p-caps (sp?) etc., too, but he doesn’t believe the bulk of the fraud is that sophisticated. “If it is that sophisticated, then we do have a problem, but here’s what we know and have tested…” in AZ and other elections during the primaries. The cheat is built into the process and the software that runs the machines. That cheat has to be done well in advance. That’s why they fight so hard to keep the processes in place that will enable them to cheat (early voting, drop boxes, etc.).
It’s not just one election system, especially in a midterm, non-presidential election. Each state has its own system, and cheaters would have to break into the various states, counties, and precincts to cheat enough with machines. The cheat happens long before election day through the processes they have put in place.
GP would make it mandatory to clean the voter rolls, eliminate mail-in voting except for the infirm, get rid of drop boxes and have mandatory prison sentences for mules. Drop boxes also provide disparate treatment if they are only in areas where poor people live. The states could have taken care of all these things, but didn’t.

At about 55:00 GP talks about what his team is doing and why he thinks we have a chance to overwhelm the cheating. The first thing the cheaters do is change the expectations among the populace. We’ve all seen this with fake polls. In the Kari Lake primary race in AZ, GP believes the cheaters were building their projections based on numbers that they were injecting into the situation. It takes a while for them to get this done; it can’t be done in a day or overnight. Once he realized what they were doing he was able to come up with plans to counter it.
GP, Kari Lake’s people, lawyers, etc., made an entire contingency plan. “If this happens, we’ll do this. If this happens, we’ll do that,” etc. They also stopped the idea prevalent in AZ at the time that everyone needs to vote on election day. If our side is the only one voting on election day, that’s how the cheaters know how much they need to cheat. They can project how many votes will be cast on election day and will have their figures down to a few thousand votes. That’s why we so often see a close race, 51-49, and then it flips. Simple for the cheaters.
GP and team flipped the script and overwhelmed them in early voting so it screwed their projections and they had no way to deal with the overwhelming vote also happening on election day.
On election night, Kari was behind by ~40,000 votes. Everything that happened on election night was the early vote with signature verification. The next day, Wednesday, there were about 25,000 “straggler” votes where it had taken time to verify signatures, etc. By Thursday, they were counting the verified signatures from Tuesday. So there were three separate counts. If everyone had only voted on election day, the cheaters might have been able to overcome it by Thursday when they actually counted election day ballots. GP and team took that option away by overwhelming them with early votes. By the time the early vote had been counted, the count was nearly even. On Wednesday Kari gained a few more votes. By Thursday she was ahead, and there was nothing the cheaters could do because voters had also overwhelmingly voted on election day as well as in early voting.
GP and team had multiple contingency plans, including in the scenario in Pinal County where they sent out a bunch of bad ballots, and then they sent out 63,000 more ballots. GP and team went to Sheriff Lamb, who said they were on it. GP told him what the cheaters would do next, which was that on election day, they acted like they ran out of ballots. GP had planned in advance to get more ballots into the precincts that ran out. Sheriff Lamb ended up firing the guy who was responsible.
GP’s preference is to have people vote only on election day, but it has to be everyone, not just Republicans. But this isn’t where we are because the Repub leadership failed to make changes. We still have the machines, software, and algorithms, and the same cheating people in place. So we have to build contingency plans and a method to overwhelm their expectations. On election day they can’t make the changes fast enough, and if they do try things like sending more ballots out and other things, we are there watching and preventing the fraud.
GP: “There are prosecutors right now, that will be completely unexpected, that come forward and nail some of these people for the cheating.” As we approach September and October the Left will be operating out of fear. Some will be charged with perjury, some with fraud. This plan is not perfect; there will still be problems. But having eyes on drop boxes and having sheriffs that can be handed evidence and having prosecutors who are interested in justice and fair elections will make a difference.
GP likes the term “tsunami” in that we can completely overwhelm their algorithms. He says even if they started today they couldn’t fix what’s going to happen. There will be places where we lose, like probably NY where they have other software problems. But more patriots are engaged now.
Bottom line: VOTE! Help your neighbors vote. Help people get registered. “The government is trying to kill you. The RNC doesn’t care. They don’t want you to win.” We have to overwhelm this by voting, working, and supporting the patriot movement. People should not think that, since 2020 was not fixed, they’re not going to vote because the system is still fouled up. We have to keep working. GP is working on 2020. They will be in 7 states in the next 7 days talking to prosecutors about various matters.
GP thinks we will definitely have elections in November. JB can’t issue an executive order to stop these state elections.

Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful holiday weekend. Much of my family is heading to Northern Michigan again. Quite a few of us are planning to walk the Mackinac Bridge in honor of my aunt’s 85th birthday. When we walked it for my dad’s 80th in 2019 my aunt kicked All of our butts. She’s been very active all her life, formerly a mountaineer, a naturalist, botanist, & innovative scrappy teacher & freelancer.
Having the home computer out has made writing much a real pain on a tablet…though the emojis are easy to access 🙂 Hopefully by the time I get back home the new part will have arrived & the computer will be fixed…God willing & if hubby has the inclination & the energy! With regard to the clot shot:
Is there ANY job or person worth giving up one’s life, or risking permanent and/or disfiguring illness for a supposed disease with a 99%+ chance of survival?
Forgive me, but I think a cold dose of reality is needed here. There are many, MANY careers out there which don’t require the clot shot. There are also ways of dealing with remote/distance relationships that don’t require it either (i.e. love will/should find a way).
One expects a relationship that leads to marriage will also lead to a family. But what if the clot shot leads to sterility (or death) which it often does?
Stepping back and looking at the situation with a somewhat dispassionate, realistic point of view (sort of a risks analysis) is probably needed, even though it’s painful.
The likely (and documented) results of the clotshot(s) are MORE than painful. And permanent.
Sorry to be so blunt, but the risks and downsides outweigh ANY benefits by at least 1000 to one. It’s just not worth it.

Let’s see why that happened.
If you look at the table the typical American CEO is actually paid five times MORE in “buying power” compared to 1976 while the rest of us are now paid a third of what we were paid in 1976. The price of gold indicates the steady devaluation of the US dollar as its purchasing power is diluted by the ever increasing supply of fiat money.
At the same time our wages were devalued, the price of goods was inflated thanks to taxes and the increased money supply. Therefore we can no longer SAVE to buy things. All the excess “fat” from the economy has been siphoned off and placed in the bankers’ pockets. We are now in a vicious cycle of more and more debt.
That is what I’m talking about. We’ve been there, done that. The person in charge of this program should be fired.

VDH is a professor of “The Classics” — Greek and Roman civilization. Since around the 1950s, public school education has turned away from the Classics and they are no longer taught.
There are many situations in today’s world where knowledge of the Classical era can be illuminating, and VDH has stepped-up to provide such knowledge. OTOH, this could well have been provided by random 10th-grade students from 1950, when such was considered the basis of a classical education. Born in the 1960’s, I got a smidgeon of a classical education from my own reading.
He is of great value in bringing forward what was eliminated from our education — so long as he keeps it clean and uncontaminated from the mis-education that has happened since.
