RINOs an Endangered Species?
If Only!
According to Wikipoo, et. al., the Northern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) is a critically endangered species. Apparently two females live on a wildlife preserve in Sudan, and no males are known to be alive. So basically, this species is dead as soon as the females die of old age. Presently they are watched over by armed guards 24/7.
Biologists have been trying to cross them with the other subspecies, Southern White Rhinoceroses (Rhinoceri?) without success; and some genetic analyses suggest that perhaps they aren’t two subspecies at all, but two distinct species, which would make the whole project a lot more difficult.
I should hope if the American RINO (Parasitus rectum pseudoconservativum) is ever this endangered, there will be heroic efforts not to save the species, but rather to push the remainder off a cliff. Onto punji sticks. With feces smeared on them. Failing that a good bath in red fuming nitric acid will do.
But I’m not done ranting about RINOs.
The RINOs (if they are capable of any introspection whatsoever) probably wonder why they constantly have to deal with “populist” eruptions like the Trump-led MAGA movement. That would be because the so-called populists stand for absolutely nothing except for going along to get along. That allows the Left to drive the culture and politics.
Given the results of our most recent elections, the Left will now push harder, and the RINOs will now turn even squishier than they were before.
I well remember 1989-1990 in my state when the RINO establishment started preaching the message that a conservative simply couldn’t win in Colorado. Never mind the fact that Reagan had won the state TWICE (in 1984 bringing in a veto-proof state house and senate with him) and GHWB had won after (falsely!) assuring everyone that a vote for him was a vote for Reagan’s third term.
This is how the RINOs function. They push, push, push the line that only a “moderate” can get elected. Stomp them when they pull that shit. Tell everyone in ear shot that that’s exactly what the Left wants you to think, and oh-by-the-way-Mister-RINO if you’re in this party selling the same message as the Left…well, whythefuckexactly are you in this party, you lying piece of rancid weasel shit?

But what is it?

The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system. (This doesn’t necessarily include deposing Joe and Hoe and putting Trump where he belongs, but it would certainly be a lot easier to fix our broken electoral system with the right people in charge.)
Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is pointless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud in the system is not part of the plan, you have no plan.
This will necessarily be piecemeal, state by state, which is why I am encouraged by those states working to change their laws to alleviate the fraud both via computer and via bogus voters. If enough states do that we might end up with a working majority in Congress and that would be something Trump never really had.

Big Bang In Trouble?
Well, I’m still not seeing anything about JWST imperiling the Big Bang theory, other than from the people who say that all the time.
I’ve seen reports that it’s seeing well-formed galaxies from earlier in the universe’s “life” than previously expected…but that does not imperil the Big Bang hypothesis as such. It does mean our current theories of how galaxies form might need some tweaking.
I am expecting the results will be modifications of the details (some of which I tried to explain back when I was doing physics posts) of what’s going on.
The most recent earthquake in cosmology was the discovery that the universe’s rate of expansion is increasing…not decreasing as previously expected. This was around the turn of the century. We still haven’t figured out precisely what this means or what it’s causing it or what the distant future of the universe will look like. In other words, a lot of details need to be fleshed out. So too with the observations from JWST.
Is it possible that by the time we fix the theory of galactic evolution, we’ll have to change other things too for consistency? Sure. But it’s very, very, very unlikely that the basic concept of the Big Bang is going to go away. We might end up changing time scales (e.g., adjust the elapsed time since the Big Bang), for instance or things like that that essentially describe the Big Bang “story,” but junk the whole thing? Pretty unlikely. (I won’t say “never” but geez, I’m tempted to.)
Neil deGrasse Tyson was asked about this on a YouTube channel called Star Talk. Yes, I know he’s a climate change douchebag…but he is an astrophysicist and this is an astrophysics question. So I’m prepared to respect him on this one.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t go into details about the current claims! However this video is worth watching for other reasons; he describes the whole thing with Einsteinian general relativity replacing Newtonian gravitation pretty well, and why it doesn’t actually invalidate Newton.
More to the point, are these two articles.
The first, No, James Webb did not disprove the Big Bang – Big Think, basically says what I just said; it’s likeliest the Big Bang will still be around, albeit with some changes to details.
The other one asks deeper questions, wondering if the failure to find out what dark matter is, is really an indication of deeper problems. Are we in 1904 all over again? (To be sure I’d consider the dividing line to be a bit earlier than 1904.) Is the Big Bang in crisis? | Astronomy.com. I know I have wondered this in the past–it seemed to me like postulating inflation and dark matter and dark energy might be too much patching up of a wrong paradigm. I wonder about it less often now that I better understand some of the lines of argumentation, particularly for dark matter, but I do keep it in the back of my mind. It’d sure be reassuring to figure out what dark matter is. Or interesting (and dramatic) to show there is no such thing.

The Tarantula Nebula is in a neighboring galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud. That’s actually a small galaxy in orbit around our own Milky Way galaxy. It’s relatively close to where Supernova 1987A was. Sadly, it’s well below the southern horizon for most people in the United States.
Here it is in “near” infrared (i.e., the higher frequencies, closest to being visible)
And here, with the Mid Infrared camera (that’s the one that has to be cooled to nearly absolute zero)
And the Orion Nebula. This one is easy, it’s the fuzzy “star” in Orion’s sword. What we are seeing here is very young stars (Orion, like Tarantua, is a stellar “nursery”), and even some protoplanetary disks. Planets are being formed!

Most meds last MUCH longer than their MHD “stale date”. Only antibiotics must be carefully watched (the US DOD does studies on this to stretch the usability window [I REFUSE TO USE THE WORD sustainability] of various meds, including Aspirin and Ibuprofin.
Keep the meds cool, dry, and in the dark, and you should be able to extend the shelf life by a good margin. Garble (Google) or other search engines will show the DOD studies…

I mean, it’s just ridiculous at this point.
I thought Good Omens did pretty well with demonic content — more like The Screwtape Letters than this Disney abomination.
Back in the day, American car companies used to intentionally manufacture cars that were revoltingly butt-ugly for their largest dealers. That way, the dealer could truthfully advertise that they’d have a variety of desirable cars starting at a shockingly low price. If you wanted to see THAT CAR on the lot, you’d be taken out to the back lot where there’d be a single car that was, for example, purple with green upholstery. It’d also be the smallest engine available for that model and might have a manual transmission and no a/c.
After a couple of years of this, it became a cliche among hot-rodders, and they’d intentionally buy these loss-leaders in order to wildly customize them — I mean, it wasn’t going to look worse after you took a blowtorch to it….
Which leads us to recent history. There is a Sprouts market near me where I occasionally purchase comestibles…..and I frequently see a car in the parking lot (enough for me to suppose that it’s an employee and not a fellow customer) that is pepto-bismol pink. For some odd reason, I’m well known to most local markets’ management…..so I mentioned to the Sprouts guy that he should be careful about publicly harboring a Pepto-phile.
I haven’t been forcibly ejected from a store so far, but there is always tomorrow…..
The main reason for Disney to produce the show is to disrespect Christ and Christianity – to oppose GOD’s Will, Word and Commandments.

Only knows enough that Hindu Cosmologists have T shirts that say “been there, done that. Want to know more?”. All these theories are little steps to knowing what is claimed to be known by the ancients. Little by little Western Science seems to be moving in that realization. I wonder how many of them are ready to admit it?
Seems some do based on this vid, having grabbed the first vid off the shelf. A bit inadequate, but it will suffice. Short of 9 mins.
If so there should be some sort of way to test what I’ll call here the “tired light” hypothesis. For instance, measuring the spectra of distant things (but not in other galaxies) we know the distance to by other means (e.g. Cepheid variables) and taking spectral measurements of them as well. In fact this is how the initial “red shift increases with distance” rule was arrived at.
If it truly is a matter of tired light, then any object at 2 million light years distance should show a small red shift. And the Magellanic clouds, at about 100,000 light years, should show something of a red shift, too.
In fact the Andromeda galaxy shows a blue shift, indicating it is moving towards us. Of course, it could be that it’s moving toward us even faster than the blue shift would indicate, with the effect being partially cancelled out by the light getting tired and turning slightly redder.
Other very close (as measured by Cepheids, not by inference from red shift and Hubble’s constant) are also measured to be moving towards us.
If it truly is a matter of tired light, objects in our own galaxy (which should in fact have an average speed with respect to us of zero, otherwise the galaxy itself is either contracting or expanding) should show it too; there should be a bias towards “the further the object is, the more likely it is to be measured as moving away from us.” I have no idea if such an analysis has been done.

Actually, there is a test for the decaying ration and that is the Pioneer anomaly, which was never beforehand been predicted.
The Pioneer anomaly comes from Pioneer spacecraft, which was reporting a different distance travelled, obtained by the spacecraft triangulating to different stars, then what the signal to the spacecraft suggested.
Furthermore, your first sentence is actually incorrect:

It’s late here, so I won’t go into detail, but I find that folks, on the one hand saying CRT (and the concommitant flogging of “colonialism”) is utterly wrong; yet the royal family, and the Queen, on the other hand, are guilty of colonialism. I was just thinking of a similar situation about our border.

Yours Truly will remember things like “that week in Rome” we had during the trip we took while we were engaged to be married (we called this “the pre-wedding honeymoon trip”).
True story: The original hotel we booked in Rome turned out to be a real flop. My fiance then called around and booked us into a room at the then-Cavalieri Hilton hotel (now part of the Waldorf-Astoria group). When we arrived, the desk staff was “impressed” that a much older man was traveling with a much younger fiancee. The hotel manager was contacted. After a conversation in Italian, the desk clerk handed us our room key, and the bellhop took us to one of the top floors.
Our booking had been “upgraded” to one of the VIP Suites of the hotel! It had at least 4 rooms, 2 marble bathrooms, huge windows with a wonderful view of Rome, and the suite itself looked like the inside of Versailles. We told the bellhop that there must be some mistake, but he smiled and said, No, this is your room. My fiance called to the front desk and asked what was going on. He was told that the management was happy for us and wanted us to have a nice time — then added that we would be charged the same room rate as for the original booking. The hotel manager had a basket of wine and fruit, and fresh flowers sent to the suite every day we were there.
Neither of us ever forgot “that week in Rome.”

Yeah, they’re particles, but barely.
IMO, dark matter – if not viewed as some kind of quantum space effect (“rules of taffy-space under the influence of mega-candy”) – is likely even more of a “barely particle” than a quark, meaning less discrete to the point of being viewable in a whole bunch of ways.
The ideas of DM and DE seem useful enough to make us look for the something, but I’ll bet that “something” may even require a new duality to understand, analogous to particle-wave, which is probably only one axis of the new enigma.
All that may, if properly understood (and I doubt I did!) bear some resemblance to what it turns out to be…but let’s face it, everyone is spitballing at this point so it will turn out to be something no one imagined.
The one thing I suspect is that Dark Energy, assuming it’s not just a mistake in measurement, will turn out to be so uniform that the answer on that one will be short…not necessarily easy to understand, but short. It won’t be like, oh, say, writing out all the possible interactions of atoms would be. Ordinary matter, it turns out, is VERY complicated; I suspect DM will be less complicated, and DE even less than that…in inverse proportion to how much of it there is. Why not? We see the same pattern elsewhere. Stars are less complicated than, say, living things, but outmass them in the aggregate by a YUGE factor.
Yes! I have to agree. I think everything points toward DE being “not complex”, and DM not as simple as DE, but still less “intricate” than normal matter.
Beyond that, however, I still think it’s all pretty bleeding edge, and subject to change. Every announcement by the media that the hunt for dark matter is over, just gets instant side-eye from me!

Well then by all means, we should do nothing, just wait for oceans of blood first.
Allow the enemy to strike a defenseless population, killing hundreds of thousands — or millions — first.
Like Pearl Harbor, except times infinity.
And only then, should we do anything about it.
Maybe.
But probably not. Prolly just wait some more after that, to see what they do next.
Sit tight and prepare for another ocean of blood.
And then exercise more restraint.
Do nothing.
If we just repeat this strategy long enough, everybody will be dead, and we won’t have to worry about responding at all.
Which is all anybody really wanted in the first place.
