The brilliantly sanctimonious (or maybe not) DeSantis video is truly a gift to both DeSantis and Trump, although that may be hard for some to see. The TRUTH of the message cannot be missed, and if anything, the message is understated, as all of us thank God for Ron DeSantis. Honestly, I get choked up watching that video. EVERY single time.
I’ll say it right here. Thank GOD for Ron DeSantis.
But is it too much? Well, the TRUTH of the message exceeds the message – so no real misstep there. When you “get chills” watching that video, it’s for a reason. And yet, the more you watch it, the more you realize that we should not be afraid to invoke the name of God. Not in truth. And every word of that video is true.
It’s BOLD is what it is.
When it’s not hypocritical – when it’s bold and true – then it cannot be sanctimonious.
AND YET…..
I’m sure the video does appear to be sanctimonious to some. It did to me, at first. I think that’s part of the genius of it. We are drawn into the truth of it.
Interestingly, I think the video also serves as a statement of principle to “The Club”.
“This is who I am. I’m a fighter. And THIS is what I fight for.”
LET THAT SINK IN, CLUB.
That sure looks like a very Trumpian wish-list to me. Indeed, I think that video is going to change some scheming Club minds in a way that is very positive for both DeSantis and Trump. Those who want to create division between the two are going to have a much harder time, because there sure doesn’t seem to be much space.

Touching animal rehab stories!
The turtle would appear to be a red-eared slider — a common freshwater turtle. It’s odd that it would have been hanging around in brackish/salt water long enough to get such a heavy encrustation of barnacles. That said, the guy made short work of them. And, despite my concerns, he didn’t nick the turtle once.
Yeah, that knife jumping around – yikes – that was scary. Those barnacles were on HARD. Poor critter!
California has had its share of animal rescues gone bad. Things like rehabilitating a seal pup for six months, releasing back into the wild with 30 people and a news crew watching, and having an orca eat the pup 100 yards offshore…..
After the only barnacles left were near the turtle’s head, I was half expecting it to stretch its neck out and try to look at what was going on.
Maybe it’s at the mouth of a river where the water isn’t so brackish…?
I though he might be going into the soup bucket after his scraping. Guess that turtle is lucky.

In the Paestum area, south of Salerno, there are many buffalo dairy farms where the best mozzarella is made. The one we always stopped at is Tenuta Vannulo, where you have to get there early or everything is gone but the gelato.
They are known for pampering their animals, with backscratchers, showers and classical music playing in the barn.

It’s in line with typical Trump strategy, IMO. Past endorsements of Rubio, Cruz, Graham and others.
Trump’s praise of Rubio was hugely repetitive, AND IMO, NOT earned by Rubio.

I found the title a little misleading. The “great friend” comment was about Rubio, not DeSantis.

I’m detecting some real complexity here. Sundance is playing a role, keeping the GOPe in check, IMO. I don’t think Sundance despises DeSantis as irrationally as it would seem, but he is absolutely committed to not letting the GOPe regain control of the party, and with THAT, I’m in full agreement.
I think Sundance is fully committed to playing “bad cop” here, while I’m playing “good cop”, but we want the same thing. MAGA stays MAGA, RINOs and GOPe walk the plank with communism.

Gateway Pundit has the text of part of Gregg and Catherine’s appeal here. It shows that the judge didn’t understand some of what the case was about and refused to allow them to explain. Apparently he did not allow cross-examination of the plaintiff (Konnech) either.
Gregg Phillips has posted a lot of information on “a public domain,” OpenInk, but none of that is the data from the China servers. He was never in possession of that data, but the judge would not allow him to explain that. IMO, this judge should be censured in a major way for what he did in this case.
It is often infuriating when judges refuse to be educated in the substance of a case before issuing rulings.
Judiciary malpractice. People’s freedom and reputations are at stake.
The idiot judge threw them into a jail full of such dangerous people that they had to be kept in solitary, and the jail’s rules forbade them from their usual daily medications (e.g. hypertension and diabetes).
The unusual move of putting Gregg and Catherine in PHYSICAL jail for contempt in a civil proceeding might have cost them serious injury or death.
Impeachment and disbarment sound about right.
Can a jail actually legally ban vital medications from its inmates?
Everywhere else this would be criminal negligence or similar grounds for a lawsuit.
This whole scenario stinks to high heaven. I really think the judge should be impeached and disbarred.
It’s cruel and unusual punishment for people who haven’t even been convicted of anything.
It’s typical of our law enforcement and judicial tyranny.
Process is used as a weapon of punishment and intimidation, while guilt or innocence is irrelevant. In fact, from the tyrants’ point of view, it’s better if you’re innocent, because that sends a message to every other law abiding American.

I had never heard of this before. I would think it qualifies under “cruel and unusual punishment.” I’ve heard of people being given organic food when requested, or certain foods because of their religion. Withholding medication could lead to severe illness or death, especially if a diabetic needs insulin.

So I was noticing the upward trend (quoted post) that began just slightly in 2006, and never fully went back down, which made me think—I’ll bet the Fall of 2006 is when they really started pushing the flu vaccine for pregnant women. (It has about a 7x higher miscarriage rate, documented.)
I did a little digging and found the first randomized clinical trial looking at the flu vaccine in pregnancy was completed in 2005 (though it was not a placebo study, they compared two different vaccines and noted their apparent benefits) so… Bingo. Evidence in hand, they started pushing and touting the benefits the following “Flu season.”

I have not watched the video, but one of my irritations about the way the Fourier transform is taught is that they invariably use a triangular function (slope up, then slope down) as the example. Since the visualization is of reversing that function then sliding the reverse function over itself and plotting the intersecting area as a function of how far you’ve slid the reversed function…well, you can’t see that it’s flipped because it’s symmetric.

Farmers are the salt of the earth. My grandfather was a subsistence farmer for three families, his own and his two children’s. He was the hardest working man I have ever known. He worked at a tire factory, and came home every day from that to work a field until dark to feed people. He wore dirty overalls, a perpetual sunburn, and could never get his hands completely clean.

I mean whether the Earl of Oxford wrote the Shakespeare plays and sonnets. The authorship question has been one of my hobbies throughout the years. A pointless hobby, but fascinating.
I do not know if Oxford wrote Shakespeare, but I totally believe Shakspere did not write Shakespeare. And Sobran (and many others) may very well be right, Oxford may be the author. I think it very probable.
Admittedly uncertain aspects (in the sense of being factual) of Oxford’s life suggest he had homosexual inclinations (“he liked to bugger boys”). Which may or may not be evidence, but it cannot be discounted. I read Shakespeare by Another Name years ago, and what I retained is that it was could be true.
Sobran actually said there are “strong hints” of a homosexual subtext, and maybe that is a better way to put things. The question has been much discussed, often in a scholarly ways which seem to go beyond those afflicted with distorted responses.
About the other pairs you mention, I have no idea.

There was. He was Jesuit educated and fluent in Latin and Greek. There is a newish branch of Shakespeare study that is developing the idea that his plays were coded messages to the masses regarding what was going on. State of GA Hope Scholarships guarantee every student a chance at a college education – not necessarily the most competitive colleges like UGA Athens, but at least Valdosta State. It’s up to the student to pass or flunk out.
Sounds desirable. I’ve read elsewhere of programs that guarantee like the top 10% of even failing schools a shot at college, but at some point they have to achieve growth. Having remedial programs to help transition students out of educational poverty who have the chance to excel due to their determination, drive, & demonstrated capabilities is so hopeful!
Of course we know that trade schools produce better paying jobs most of the time. Plumbers and electricians are never laid off or lack for work!

IMO it’s a very shrewd move by a guy who is trapped between money guys who want to shower him with cash for “early presidential ambitions”, and a smarter path that keeps him in Florida in 2024, in preparation for a 2028 run after Trump.

DeSantis isn’t stupid. He knew this ad was going to peg him as a state-level pol, but the money-bags would “push too hard” and try to capture the Trump thing badly. AND YET, the add pulls him into Trump’s tail-wind as “next Trump”. Pompeo can’t touch this with the base.

These are very dangerous places. The equipment used are under high pressures and temperatures. Failures happen and surprisingly less then you would expect. Sort of why I have a job.
At the turn of the 1900’s, thousands of people were dying annually from boilers blowing up until we got a handle on safety. But they still happen. Just not as frequently as before. Not everything is the cabal causing trouble. But do not live near, or down wind of chemical plants, refineries, and cold storage facilities. Just to name a few.
One of the first industrial uses for platinum was to make boilers for sulfuric acid (which had to be concentrated by boiling off excess water). It was at the time cheaper than gold, but it couldn’t be melted, only sintered.
Glass, gold and platinum were the only possible choices. Gold was too dang expensive, and glass had the disconcerting habit of shattering under pressure, sending sulfuric acid and glass shards everywhere.
So they’d roll out a big sheet of sintered (sponge) platinum, make a cylinder out of it, then solder the seam with gold solder (likewise for the top and bottom). The gold solder was unavoidable before they could build a furnace hot enough to smelt platinum.
I cant imagine after announcing infrastructure investments that this happens. I wonder if maintenance was already so bad they had no choice.

Here is the irony. As pgroup pointed out recently (I believe it was pgroup) there are two kinds of contempt: summary and criminal. Criminal requires indictment and due process. Summary is something which happens right in front of the judge, like the refusal to disclose, and does not require a charging document.
What the lower court has done (or not done) is not in front of the appellate judges, so he cannot be held in summary contempt, although he appears to be much more deserving. The appropriate relief (I am guessing) is an official notice to the judicial commission in charge of the lower court judge.
BUT, this is all a little odd. If the appellate release order was on a habeas corpus petition (which I assume is the right procedure), the order should be addressed to those who have custody – – the jailers. The lower judge would have no say.
But maybe this was done another, less direct way, where the appeals court directs the lower court to rescind the incarceration aspect of the lower court’s order.
ThanQ for the attribution. I also stated (in a separate comment) that the judge was providing a basis for a habeas writ application. Such a writ would be granted and would direct the person having legal and physical custody of the petitioner to release that person from custody. You have correctly stated that the judge would have no say in the matter. This fact I probably should have included in my prior commenting.
If the attorneys asked for emergency interlocutory review/relief (which it sure looks like they did), then the judge is still involved and more importantly, still has jurisdictional authority. Which means he can ignore the appellate court (risky to his status as a judge – there are disciplinary authorities) or he could modify/amend the original order (which was reviewed) and thus it is a new order and nothing has really changed except the order from the app court is now moot. This is also risky because the appellate court could recall the matter and rule that the trial judge is biased so must be removed from the case. Gregg’s attorneys could make a motion to recall the order and slather inflammatory language all over the pleading.
A writ of habeas corpus is the only sure way to free Gregg. As a closing thought, the trial judge has clearly demonstrated what I said in another comment – this is a case of contempt of judge, not contempt of court.
The outcome is that Gregg will be free. The only question is how long that will take (refer to the J6 prisoners for comparison).

I think pgroup answered this before, but I forget. Why wouldn’t the J6 prisoners attorneys already have filed for habeas corpus relief based on violation of the Federal guarantee to a speedy trial?

The public defenders are agreeing to continuances. In the DC courts, the public defenders never win and frankly are there only because the constitution compels representation.
DC public defenders are equivalent to abused spouses that never leave the marriage.
They probably have no concept of habeas corpus let alone the simple elements of federal speedy trial. Public defenders are very good on the repetitive, usual stuff, not so good on issues which require appellate type knowledge.
IOW, what should have happened is group funding from MAGA patriots to hire competent attorneys to go pro hac vice. Very, very expensive, but the results would be far different.

It would seem that wrongful incarceration on a summary contempt charge would be exactly what habeas corpus was intended to rectify. It’s not like incarceration took place after trial and sentencing, where an appeal would be required.
Some attorneys view habeas as a last resort when all else has failed. Sort of like how we view nuclear weapons. Such a view fails IMO to assign sufficient value to the effects of incarceration upon a human. Nonetheless, it is how lots of civil defense attorneys do it.
Assuming he has the funds, he should have immediately hired a criminal defense attorney. Those guys have vast experience in getting guys out of jail whether guilty or innocent. Chances are they have many tricks up their sleeves that are not well known.

Comments on the article makes it appear that Gov DeSantis only approved a change to the law banning Vaccine Passports.
The possibility for forced vaccinations in Florida has been the law for a long time. DeSantis or the legislature didn’t change anything with regards to that section of law.

Wally world had everything out for Christmas, even the middle aisle pallets but a cashier said everyone is using credit to buy everything, and decline are very common. Costco was aisle full too. I got a membership again, even just fir pizza and chicken. Eggs are good price. But, they had whiskey for 11k there. Just ridiculous in this economy.
Back in the 1980s there was an ad for a charity (St. Anthony’s dining room?) which showed a homeless person eating from what appeared to be a can of beans (or dogfood, or whatever). The heading was “some people are so poor, they have to eat their holiday dinner out of a can”.
Beside that was a chart that showed how many people could be fed Thanksgiving dinner for $5,$10, $20, $50, $100, etc.
Directly next to it was an ad for Jenny Craig Weight Loss, with their monthly rates, which sort of aligned with those prices (to lose x pounds over y weeks, etc.).
The “traffic manager” at the SJ Mercury News (or whoever did it) was an utter genius for having made that (horribly sad) juxtaposition.

I did the Chron for about three years, grew it to 50 customers… boy, I HATED the Sunday edition (except to read it back then in the good old days). Had two sets of carry bags on my bike, almost disappeared between them…
Years later, my nephew showed me the “Paperboy” video game. Boy, did that bring back memories. I had one customer who had a cinderblock wall going left-to-right in the MIDDLE of his front yard. Behind that, almost hidden from sight, was a little pond. I could either try to throw the paper over the wall and pond to the porch (but not the window next to it), or take five minutes to hop off my bike, and “walk” the paper to the doorstep.
I did the latter. Fortunately he thanked me and tipped me for that. Maybe it was a paperboy obstacle course 🙂 Good thing he didn’t have alligators or something in the pond…then again, it was California…

Why would so much “historical data” about the Wistar lab rat be included in the Pfizer-BioNTech study performed in 2020? There was no COVID-19 “vaccine” extant in the years 2013 – 2019 to my knowledge, except perhaps in pre-development stages. Was the inclusion of all this “historical data” about skeletal / external / soft tissue, etc., abnormalities in these rats done to somehow “smooth over” any abnormalities that might occur in the rats used for COVID-19 “vaccine” experiments? Was this done to “justify” the dismissal in the report referenced above of findings of abnormalities in any of the “vaccinated” mother rats and/or in their removed fetuses / littered pups as “incidental” or “within normal range”, which language is in the report?
Pages 1115 – 1145 are the reports of abnormalities in the euthanized “vaccinated” mother rats and also in their removed fetuses / euthanized littered pups. There are two types of reports: one set of “Full Studies”, which Yours Truly assumes includes not only the “vaccinated” mother rats and their offspring, plus those of the saline Control Group. The numbers of animals observed appears to confirm that the findings are combined results. The other set, of “Dose-Range Finding Studies” are the ones that focus on the “vaccinated” mother rats and their offspring. Yours Truly is working on these. And finding listings of abnormalities of all types in the offspring.

All these states announced at the same time. Does mean someone activated them and it was not individual state actions or the announcements would of come with some separation. It should also not be assumed that these 13 State National Guard Cyber Units are working just for the 13 states but likely share their state capabilities with other states as well since not all states are going to have these capabilities/type units so yes assume a centralized control here and we should know we don’t have centralized control of anything, but the Bidenese do. So yeah, this smells and it seems that Q has written this with some wait and watch mistrust in mind.
It also appears that we got snookered by the Penn Supreme Court. Good news the other day, appeared to show that they blocked a flood of potentially fraudulent ballots. Now it seems they are amending their ruling to allow for a large swath of the wrong or undated ballots to be allowed. Not sure why we trusted them anyway as the Penn Supreme Court was ultimately who Mastriano was having to contend against in the 2020 election when it was argued that only the State legislature could create rules for the state’s election and that the courts and govt officials had no roll in setting such rules as per the Penn and US Constitution if I remember correctly and that only got up to the US Supreme Court because the Penn Court ruled against state legislature’s position.
