My first year at the University of Casual Sun Bathing, I lived in a dorm across the street from the Psychology building….which was quite interesting, architecturally — three stories high and no windows on three sides, the fourth side being over an enclosed courtyard.
Anyway, one of the requirements for passing an undergraduate Psych class was subjecting yourself as a subject to a certain number of psychological experiments. As these classes were presented as efficient ways to meet certain undergraduate degree requirements, a significant percentage of students had been through this.
Rumor had it that a certain coed was not happy at this invasion of her privacy, but recognized the practical limitations of making her distaste known. So she signed up for a study. Before the actual operation, she was briefed on all the legal BS and given documentation on all required disclosures. Then the professor in charge asked if she had any questions.
She asked, “being that you’re a Psych professor, is there a problem that I’m inordinately fond of pancakes?” The professor chuckled, and replied, “No, no — I’m quite fond of them, myself.”
Visibly relieved, she gushed, “I’m so glad to hear that. I secretly keep one drawer in my dresser full of them and I take them out and cuddle them at night.”
Oddly enough, she was abruptly excused from that and all future psych studies.

Reminds me of the story of the soldier that walked around everywhere picking up rocks and branches and looking beneath “saying nope, this isn’t it”. No one could figure out why and he didn’t say so eventually they sent him the shrink for eval.

The key to selecting the winner they’ve been saying is to only vote your 1st choice, don’t pick 2nd or 3rd (deprives them of votes). Hoping many Alaskans got that message.
So Alaskan’s vote for a first choice, AND a second choice, AND third choice…
If so, that is, Participation Trophy, stoopid.
They take losing candidate’s votes and split them between the choices, then recalc. Takes weeks. Then they rinse and repeat until Murkowski is declared the winner.😒
It’s supposed to work like this: You rank your choices.
If your first choice comes in LAST, that guy is eliminated and your vote then goes to your second choice.
I have no idea what Alaska is doing, but to me what I described seems like a decent idea. You can vote for a third party candidate and then the RINO as a backup, instead of having to debate whether to take a chance the Dem will beat the RINO out by one vote–the one you gave to the third party candidate.
It eliminates the “wasted vote” argument the RINOs use to keep us in line.

Had a consult with the insurance-designated surgeon Wednesday. PURPOSE:
Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as virus interference. The virus interference phenomenon goes against the basic assumption of the test-negative vaccine effectiveness study that vaccination does not change the risk of infection with other respiratory illness, thus potentially biasing vaccine effectiveness results in the positive direction. This study aimed to investigate virus interference by comparing respiratory virus status among Department of Defense personnel based on their influenza vaccination status. Furthermore, individual respiratory viruses and their association with influenza vaccination were examined.
RESULTS:
We compared vaccination status of 2880 people with non-influenza respiratory viruses to 3240 people with pan-negative results. Comparing vaccinated to non-vaccinated patients, the adjusted odds ratio for non-flu viruses was 0.97 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.86, 1.09; p = 0.60). Additionally, the vaccination status of 3349 cases of influenza were compared to three different control groups: all controls (N = 6120), non-influenza positive controls (N = 2880), and pan-negative controls (N = 3240). The adjusted ORs for the comparisons among the three control groups did not vary much (range: 0.46-0.51).
CONCLUSIONS:
Influenza vaccination and respiratory virus interference among Department of Defense personnel during the 2017-2018 influenza season.
Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections.”

Even just “liking the humor” is a kind of very real set-up for trouble. I also hate having to “explain misinterpretations of my posts”. DHS is now going after people in Ohio who show up at school board meetings. Even extremely innocent people. It’s just off the wall NUTS. A guy pointed a finger at the school board recently, and addressed them as “you”, and that was enough to have a bunch of armed LEOs including DHS show up at his door, stupidly, idiotically, comically, showing video screen captures of him at the board meeting, pointing, and questioning him about social media posts.

I mean, even the Pfizer-BioNTech study of BNT162b1, BNT162b2, and BNT162b3 on the Wistar lab rats had the dosage amounts listed (30mcg) for each injection that was given to each female rat. And there was a placebo control female rat group in this study, for Heaven’s sake.
Also, what’s up with the very small (675 participants in total) study group for NCT05585632? If there are 5 “vaccine candidates” being tested, one comes up with 135 participants per “vaccine candidate.” How can it be justified to test, say, mRNA-1230 on 135 study participants, then take the “study data” to the FDA and apply for an EUA for this “combo-vaccine” that would then be used on millions of people? Not only that, but this clinical trial has 25 study locations in the U.S., England, and Australia. So the 675 study participants would be spread out among 25 locations in three completely different areas of the planet.

Pueblo is in her district. It’s south of Colorado Springs, an old labor-union town, and habitually votes Dem. I think Coloradoans differ as to whether Pueblo is “Front Range” or not (I tend to classify it as such). But for certain NOTHING in the Front Range from Colorado Springs north is in her district.
Colorado Springs has grown so much that during the recent redistricting, CD 5 (Doug Lamborn) went from being El Paso County plus neighboring counties, to not even covering all of El Paso County–the eastern part is now part of CD 4 (Ken Buck; this is the district that from my college days I think of as “Fort Collins plus the east”–Fort Collins is the north end of the Front Range in Colorado; most people extend the term “front Range” though Cheyenne, WY). Of course having to wedge a new district into the state pushed that along, but the new district was added because of growth

It looks like she traded some mountain communities (tend to be liberal) with SE Colorado (very conservative).

Now I think I understand why there are pages of “Historical Control Data from Wistar Rat (CRL Lyon)” on Pages 1084ff (studies from 2013 – 2019 that include abnormalities) — Pfizer-BioNTech apparently wants to simply “explain away” the pages and pages of abnormalities listed on pages 1123 – 1145 of the above-referenced document.
Since there was no COVID-19 “vaccine” in existence in 2013 – 2019, at least as far as I can determine, how can the company dismiss as “within normal range [of historical control data]” or “incidental” the abnormalities found in the offspring rats from COVID-19 “vaccinated” mothers?
There are two types of examination findings results on Pages 1123 – 1145: One set of “Full Studies”, meaning that all offspring rats were examined including the saline placebo control group offspring: and the other set, of “Dose-Range Studies”, meaning the offspring of the “vaccinated” mother rats on Gestation Day 21 (Caesarian Section or littered). Yours Truly was focused on the “Dose-Range Studies.”
On Page 1133, for example, under “Dose-Range Studies Soft Tissue Abnormalities”:

I am sure my mother knew, somewhere in the recesses of her dark mind, that my father was my molester.
I say that because my mother clearly was my rival in her mind, and not my mother. Her M.O. was to run me down in any possible way. At 120 pounds, I was “too fat.” I was never dressed right, had the right makeup on, or the right hairstyle. Nothing was good enough.
When I developed breasts bigger than hers when I was 13, she went out and had breast augmentation. She actually asked me what I thought about it first. My reaction of “yuck, why would you want these things?” was just more ammunition for her to use against me.
All in all, the relationship between my parents was a sick, toxic stew. And I was in the middle of it.
Lots of therapy, including some with CREDO, a program run by Navy chaplains, turned my life around in my late 20s. If you don’t know about that program, it is excellent. I credit it with literally saving my life, as I had become suicidal. A “random” person in the grocery store spotted me, and told me about it. I believe that person was an angel sent to me from God. Literally.

Hopefully it will only last a few months at most. We will just have to see if RDS is going to run or not. Trump is at least sending him plenty of hints. If RDS has any hope for a run down the road, he best sit this one out.
I don’t think RDS will run. I don’t think he ever intended to run. But my opinion months ago still stands (and I think this is what Trump was saying, too): RDS needs to get behind Trump’s candidacy with full-fledged support. He needs to say things like, “No, I wouldn’t dream of running in 2024 if Trump runs. We need to unify around Trump and MAGA.” After Trump formally anounces, RDS will have the opportunity to do that.
But things have escalated now, in part because RDS has been wishy-washy about it, and it might be a blow to his pride to support the man who said the things Trump just did. I’m not blaming Trump. If he doesn’t come out swinging from the get-go, the jackals will take him down. And no one knows better than Trump the tenacity of the RINO establishment.

You know, I think it is kind of rich to condemn Trump for attacking another Republican when there is a whole branch of Republicans who have done nothing but attack him — to the point that there is a even a name for them. Where was this vaunted “thou shall not speak ill of another Republican” rule then? Oh, that’s right, it is all gaslighting bullshit.
I think the sin here is that Trump did not attack one of those NeverTrumpers (who richly deserve it) and attacked someone more from his branch who will pose a challenge to him in the primary (which is not exactly unheard of).
But let’s not forget that Mitch and other Republicans in the Senate knew the Russian collusion stuff was a hoax and let it go on anyway while sitting on evidence that would have ended it all. No one owes the party any loyalty because the party has never shown any loyalty. Everyone was done with the Republicans before Trump came along. And this sort of thing where there is a double standard for the base vs. the establishment guys is a chief reason why.
Mitch starved several winnable races because those candidates were loyal to the base instead of him, and then has the audacity to create an op to blame it all on Trump and the base when he is the one doing the gatekeeping. The arrogance of these sons of bitches is truly astounding! People are tired of being manipulated in such obvious ways, and they are tired of their priorities not being serviced. You will notice DeSantis is not calling out Mitch. And that, to me, makes him the go along to get along candidate instead of the reformer.
