I am always amazed at how dogs and men have evolved to complement each other over the last 40,000 years or so — to the point that a girl-human-child and a puppy-dog-child can bond so strongly.

There’s several reasons at a technical level. Their obfuscation of how they deliver content, and avoid some of the checks and balances that others adhere to. The video on unusual places to hide things had some good ideas. I would need to have a master list where I had recorded the hiding places, even if it was just one. Some of those were a little vulnerable (a container hidden under leaves, all good until the wind blows). Others were great hiding places unless you forget and wash your sneakers or jeans that contain the hidden cash. But very interesting.

These two are certainly creepy to the core, but a lot of it is the politicization of the issue — how it has to be “in your face” to the normies and their lifestyle must be hailed as superior.
It wasn’t so vicious 40 years ago.
There is a happy medium between people being monstrous and nasty to gays and trannies (like they were when I was young), and the strange folks trying to inflict their psychoses and neuroses on the rest of us (where we are now).
There has been a whole lot of historical revisionism dropped on this subject — sometimes one way, and sometimes another. I didn’t see a whole lot of monstrous and nasty when I was growing up — it was more a generalized disdain. “Smear the Queer” was a game, not a pogrom; and “don’t throw like a girl” was practical advice.
As I grew older, it became obvious that there were folks among us that were…..odd. On my 30-day whirlwind tour of Europe when I was 15, there were three guys — one guy in his 20’s who was a regional manager for Craftsman Tools with Sears, me, and a guy who was a complete flamer. All three of us got solo rooms throughout the trip. OTOH, there were seventeen college-age girls on the same trip, and I wouldn’t have noticed much that the guys were doing anyway.
I gradually became aware that there were gay bars, gay neighborhoods, gay events — but these were discreet (to the normies, anyway) and weren’t any trouble.
At the aforementioned yiddische-kopf firm, the next office over had another accounting firm (we shared a client waiting area), and the staff accountant over there had a couple of her own clients. One of whom would deliver a collection of 3-on-a-page check stubs to her every month — wrapped in a couple of dozen rubber bands. It was an odd quirk.
After she and I started seeing more of each other, she told me about the place and we went there — it was a gay bar with a TS/TV floor show in back. We were treated to the “best seats in the house”. Some of the acts were very, very good — and some were aspirational; some merely lip-synched, others sang themselves; some were camp, some were sexy, some just weren’t. I had a great time, as I was spending time as the “boy-toy” of a real girl. I applauded every performer. They didn’t seem terribly oppressed.
When I moved to the Bay Area, I just happened to get an apartment next door to a M->F TS. We would occasionally do things together — like day trip to SF or Berzerkeley. “She” had a rather complex thing going as the submissive to a woman named Pat whose husband was in a Zen dojo….so “she” had free time.
For a couple of years, I’d attend the Gay Pride parade in SF. To put this in perspective, I was coming from Santa Barbara — which has nearly as many parades as Disneyland — so I was suffering from withdrawal. The first couple of years were essentially R rated, and often comedic and very funny. As AIDS started to bite harder, there’d be more solemnity. But soon such events were overrun by bitterness and bile — “how dare you tell us to stop doing what is killing us!”
The ’90’s were an ugly time to be in a geographic location with non-heteros. Everything was spiteful and mean, and increasingly politicized. We got ACT-UP, and “silence = death”, and marches and demands. Simultaneously, the general populace got really tired of these obnoxious depraved brats and wanted nothing to do with them.
So the media stepped-in. From the American remake of La Cage aux Folles, “Birdcage” in 1996, to the 2003 series “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”, there was a concentrated effort to depict homosexuals as charming helpful neighbors for straight people. Part of this was recasting the history of the ’70’s and ’80’s as being nasty and monstrous to homosexuals to show how much better things were now.
Well, that PR campaign was pretty successful up until about 2015….but, since then, the “in your face, you must submit” perverts and degenerates rapidly squandered any goodwill developed in those years.

We have seen news agencies posting false narratives, post images of Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown when they were years younger, and even edited videos during the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown farces… These are downright dishonest propaganda tactics.
Remember how the press promoted the story that Barron Trump was autistic/retarded when he appeared groggy and not alert at 3am on election night/morning? Our new First Lady to be, Melania IMMEDIATELY sued the culprits and won 2 million dollars – so the media paid for Barron’s prep school, college and grad school!
Of course – most Americans don’t have that luxury or a team of high-powered lawyers to scare the YKW out of the press.

Couple of days ago I had a (rare) phone conversation with a family member. She said both herself and husband had covid, she was coughing as she spoke. Knowing them I was pretty certain they’d took the jab, several if not all. Am not a quick thinker when on the spot and probably blurted out that which should have been put more cautiously. Said yes those who took the jab were more likely to catch the covid, not a good start. Then listed a few of the things I was taking which might help, and she said she check with her Dr. if they would be ok with the meds she was taking for an auto immune condition she had. I said how long have you had that, and as she’s reckoning back I said was it before you took the jab or after and she said after. I jumped in with both feet again and said, it’s the jab that does that. Now am thinking about damage control, and would appreciate some links, original sources from bona fida experts on most recent views on jab harm and remediation meds, that I could pass on the links.

Then, Dr. Hotez goes on to link “anti-vaxxism” (my term) to “…extremism on fhe far right…And so we need political solutions to address this.” (bolding mine)
That last sentence from Dr. Hotez is, IMO, a “heads-up hint.”
The sad irony is that Dr. Hotez, “fully vaccinated and boosted”, is now carrying within his own body, due to those COVID-19 “vaccines”, the potential for immune system damage / blood and heart damage / CNS problems, and so on, that are also negatively affecting the lives of so many of the “vaccinated and boosted” of the world. It is impossible that Dr. Hotez does NOT know of the growing number of reports, papers, and studies which indicate these things. IMO, perhaps Dr. Hotez might like to attend an autopsy performed by Dr. Ryan Cole on the body of a person who died from COVID-19 “vaccine”-engendered blood clots.

I would imagine Eratosthenes actually used a straight stick, and made sure it was plumb.
I’m wondering if Eratosthenes was using the stick measurement as a double-check of a comparison of two wells, with the latter as the initial calculation. A second deep and straight well at home should give a very nice answer, too.
The problem is he needed the angle of the shadow. A well is only going to tell him it is or is not zero at Alexandria; he already knew it wasn’t zero…otherwise the story of the sun reflecting off the bottom of the one at Syene wouldn’t have been commentworthy.
See, I’m thinking that the well has its own shadow trick. If the well is deep enough relative to its diameter, and North enough to accommodate the angle, the southern rim casts a moving shadow to the northern side, maximizing its depth at noon. (Or view it as the light reaching a maximum depth.) Another way to get the angle. That experiment can be simplified to a stick, but the well provides a nice “long” check, and vice versa.
(And I just simplified it to a cardboard tube, too. Works like crazy!)

Cyber Command executed so-called “full spectrum” operations to safeguard the latest U.S. election, Army Gen. Paul Nakasone, who leads both the National Security Agency and CYBERCOM, said earlier this month during a rare briefing for reporters.
He previously defined that to mean defensive and offensive actions, as well as information operations.
“We did conduct operations persistently to make sure that our foreign adversaries couldn’t utilize infrastructure to impact us,” Nakasone said. “We understood how foreign adversaries utilize infrastructure throughout the world, we had that mapped pretty well, and we wanted to make sure that we took it down at key times.”
“There was a campaign plan that we followed and it wasn’t just November 8: it covered before, during, and until the elections were certified,” he added.
The actions, which Nakasone repeatedly declined to elaborate on, marks the third consecutive cycle where CYBERCOM has undertaken steps to defend a national election, or every one since Russia’s multifaceted digital onslaught on the 2016 presidential race.
The command made election security one of its enduring missions after it was given new powers by the White House and Congress.
The Trump administration issued National Security Presidential Memoranda 13, which streamlined Pentagon authorities to conduct time-sensitive military operations in cyberspace. And language in the fiscal 2018 National Defense Authorization Act cleared the way for clandestine digital operations, categorizing them as “traditional military activity.”
The command, armed with intelligence from the NSA, launched the first offensive cyber campaign against Russia to secure the 2018 midterm elections.
It deployed “hunt forward” teams to Eastern Europe, sent direct messages to Russian disinformation operators to inform them that they had been identified, and launched a digital strike that temporarily knocked the notorious Internet Research Agency offline in the days before and after the election.
The command also took action against Iranian hackers backed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election. The hackers posed as a far-right group, sending threatening emails to American voters and posting a video to shake confidence in the U.S. voting process.
Nakasone said the overall degree to which foreign powers targeted last month’s election had dropped compared to years past.

I was talking about this at work with a coworker today, and it reminded me how much Elon is like Steve Jobs and his reality distortion field. He has a long-standing habit of sending a strong message and then sending a radically conflicting message to shake things up. I’m not sure why he does that, except that it generates a lot of attention, gets people talking about him, forces them to think through an issue, and acts as a laser pointer red dot to the media cats. It looks like he plays both sides to assert a thesis, then counters with an antithesis and forces everyone to go through discourse to the synthesis position of common agreement. I wouldn’t want to work at Tesla.

If they were ever serious about ‘thwarting’ government backed platform manipulation, they would publicly CALL OUT every suspected instance, and with full transparency, invite the public to review the suspected government breach and demand accountability.

When this has been done repeatedly to no effect, and everyone can see it, and none can deny it, begin openly calling on the military to honor their oaths, to defend the Republic, to defend the Constitution, and to re-establish the Rule of Law.
And when the military does nothing, proving they are likewise corrupt, just like every other agency of government, then we can finally begin the conversation on what to do about it, when every avenue for redress of grievances is blocked by a tyrannical government.

If the information was allowed to be revealed, it wouldn’t have changed the election result one iota.
It would not have mattered if every last eligible voter in the country voted for Trump, because the election result had nothing to do with how many people voted, or for whom.
And had everything to do with who counted the votes.
You can’t overwhelm the cheat with votes, if the cheaters just use however many votes you get as gauge for how many votes the cheaters have to manufacture and — crucially — the cheaters don’t care if they get caught, because there is no law enforcement mechanism to hold them accountable.
All the cheaters need to know is two things:
1) how many votes you got when voting ends, so they know how many they need to come up with, between the time the polls close and days later, when the ‘results’ are announced
and
2) that they are safe, that there will be no consequences for their crimes and treason, because no one in law enforcement will ever confront them, because law enforcement is as corrupt as the treasonists — and are, in fact, treasonists themselves

Yours Truly just found out that MD DIL (“fully vaccinated and boosted”) has a nasty case of COVID-19. And so does her “fully vaccinated and boosted” son (one’s step-grandson) have it too — second time for him, he got it the first time in July.
DIL will very likely take Paxlovid, thereby screwing up her natural immune system for good.
Yours Truly is terrified that her MD son (“fully vaccinated and boosted” and husband of DIL) will get COVID-19 — this would be his second time. He got a bad “breakthrough case” of it last year, AFTER he got “fully vaccinated.”
This situation of course blows Christmas off the table in terms of my going to visit with them. Thank God I had sent their presents to them via UPS — I had a feeling that something might happen to mess up the holiday.
I tried to warn my son about the dangers of the “vaccines.” I think he dismissed what I wrote to him.

The Committee’s investigation found the mandatory program was dormant, at best, with only one audit opened while the former President was in office, and none have been completed.
Excerpts from Chairman Neal’s opening statement:
“Ways and Means is entrusted with great responsibilities. Today, the weight of our job is heavy. Congress serves as a check on the Executive Branch, and our Committee is entrusted with oversight of our revenue system. We all come to Ways and Means with the goal of creating a fairer tax code. Because at the root of it all, it is our federal tax system that funds the democracy we all cherish and love.
“Our voluntary collection relies on the public confidence that our tax laws are applied evenly and justly, regardless of position or power. For four years, the Committee has been reviewing how the IRS enforces the federal tax laws against, and ensures compliance by, a president.
“A president is no ordinary taxpayer. They hold power and influence unlike any other American. And with great power comes even greater responsibility.
“We are only here today because four years ago, our request to learn more about the program under 6103 was denied. This was the first time that this key oversight function was hampered, and our Committee’s jurisdiction was challenged.
“The Committee expected that these mandatory audits were being conducted promptly and in accordance with IRS policies. However, our review found that under the prior Administration the program was dormant. We know now, the first mandatory audit was opened two years into his presidency. I’ve got a really simple way “to put the program above reproach.”
Repeal the Sixteenth Amendment.
An income tax, by design, involves the Federal government in every activity of its citizens, where excise taxes and customs duties do not. They were illegal up until the Sixteenth Amendment (in 1913…..what other things happened that year?). They should be illegal now.

While we’re waiting for the repeal process to play out, Congress should just revoke the enabling statutes that give life to the IRS. It would be a lot faster than waiting for an amendment to be repealed.
