The electric truck “had a 70 percent charging limit set, it was hooked up to a 240-volt 48-amp home charger, it had Gear Guard turned off, but it stayed connected to the WiFi network,” according to the site. “This excessive drain (also known as ‘vampire drain’) has been reported by Rivian owners for months.”
The truck’s owner said he called Rivian about the level of drain, and the EV company confirmed it was not normal and recommended the truck come in to be serviced.
InsideEVs reported numerous complaints about battery charging capabilities. While some have blamed colder weather as the reason, others have reported difficulties even in moderate temperatures.
Some owners also reportedly blamed the charging struggles on the EV’s inability to access the Rivian app properly or the truck’s key fob as being too sensitive.
Electric vehicles’ batteries have also raised several concerns over fire risk. Norwegian shipping company Havila Kystruten recently banned hybrid and electric vehicles from its ships after a safety assessment deemed the batteries are too great of a risk for explosion and toxic gases.

There’s no cure for anything, and there’s not going to be. Nobody is even looking for cures.
Cure = cessation of payments.

Big picture, YES, IMO, although I think calling it progeria is somewhat misleading.
This is very similar to something I’ve been thinking – that “hidden science” literally KNOWS that coronaviruses are behind much of human aging and death, and THAT IS a big part of WHY they focused on them for depopulation.
This hooks into bats, which have extreme longevity, in part because of adaptation to coronaviruses. Which IMO was part of the rationale for releasing this virus.

And it’s the spike protein of the virus itself, in addition to the “enhanced” spike protein present in the “vaccines.”

What is even stupider, from a human energy (and civilization) standpoint, is using “depleted” uranium for shells. It is the greatest stupidity one can possibly commit on this planet. 1000 years from now, people will look back and LAUGH, or CRY at us for abusing uranium like that.

The depleted uranium is U-238. It cannot sustain a fission reaction. It is very dense [heavy] which makes it usable for armor-piercing ammo. We used it in Iraq.
BTW, ‘depleted’ refers to U-235 [the fuel of a nuke reactor] which has been removed from the uranium ore. Thus, what remains is depleted of U-235.

We’re willing to use U-238 in projectiles only after removing the fissile U-235. U-238 can’t be used for much other than breeding plutonium, and we’ve got more than enough for that.
You are quite correct – except (and this is something taught to me very strongly by a professor who worked on the Manhattan Project, as well as a more modern energy prof) you need to add some understanding of kinetics and thermodynamics – concepts which apply at a very high level to almost everything, including history and the future (long T (time)).
Gasoline and heavier oils of petroleum are almost the same thing, thermodynamically, meaning in terms of the energy they provide, but the easy kinetics of igniting gasoline makes gasoline more immediately usable. Nevertheless, there is enormous utility in fuel oils – the same energy that there is in gasoline.
Uranium 235 is like kindling wood, and uranium 238 is like cord wood. We are lucky that U-235 exists, because thanks to kinetics, it’s easy to start nuclear fires using U-235 with our beginner nuclear understanding. However, there are many times MORE energy available in the cord wood of U-238, because there is much more of it.
Even better, and many times more plentiful than U-238, is thorium-232. That is the natural next step, and we are very fortunate for that abundance, too.
The energy expert who shaped my outlook on things was very clear that we needed to use our 238 for energy. If we didn’t, it would severely constrict humanity’s advance toward fusion energy.
One thing that is VERY important to realize, is the thermodynamic advantage of ALL nuclear fuels, relative to other forms of energy. There is SO MUCH ENERGY trapped in nuclear fuel of ANY kind, including the “green logs” of U-238, that it dwarfs the sunshine and blankets of all other forms of energy. That energy advantage will not go away as we advance in knowledge – it will grow, as it becomes even easier to extract. Time is on our side with energy extraction – just like we have found with tertiary oil recovery. We can rest assured that in the future, it will almost certainly become “kinetically feasible” to extract the energy of U-238 by means we don’t see now, which are currently limited by our present knowledge.
U-238 is an investment. One of the easiest there is.
Planners for the future have a duty to understand fundamentals.

The trick when breeding Pu239 is to pull the rods out before too much of that Pu239 absorbs another neutron and becomes Pu240, which will basically poison the chain reaction. If not then you’re basically screwed unless you want to find a way to separate those isotopes from each other. And since the mass difference is 1 AMU instead of 3 for uranium, I can imagine that would be very difficult, even if we can find a gas with constituents that don’t very in weight (like UF6…Fluorine only has one naturally occuring isotope so any weight difference is due to the uranium. Is there a corresponding compound of plutonium?)
And THAT is where I just get on the express train and sail right on past the delusions of Exit 239 with NO STOPS. SCREW WEAPONS GRADE. I want maximum burnup of ALL fertile species. The advantages of high burnup are (1) antiproliferation – make the plutonium that potentially exits at any stage absolutely unusable for weapons – I mean, what a bonus! 😉 (although, see below), (2) maximum energy, because that’s the whole point, (3) minimum reprocessing, so that the energy ROI is maximum for the people.
The whole idea of weapons grade is an unnecessary burden, left over from the original purpose of the Manhattan Project. Pu-239 is anti-economical. It’s basically charcoal – which has its uses, but ultimately its a waste. IMO, get the highest possible burnup and the lowest possible reprocessing cost for the optimal ROI, and live with whatever results from that approach.

It’s very complicated. Both Russia and China need to drive a wedge between America and Washington, but if China makes a mistake and does a Pearl Harbor, that wedge collapses, which hurts BOTH China and Russia.
Consequently, Russia is always WARY of American false flags, which are historically common.
Also, if Americans who oppose the war feel they’re “excused” from Washington’s errors, a lot of Russian propaganda won’t work properly. Russia wants to scare people as part of their motivation to get them to oppose the warmongers in Washington and Europe, but not so much that they come back to the warmongers out of fear, due to a Russian threat. THAT is a delicate dynamic. Russia and China are allies in some ways, but their interests are not identical.

Yours Truly just got back the results from the battery of tests and x-rays that were performed on Monday. The physical exam, blood tests and basic neurological exam results were all normal. The repeat x-rays of the fractured big toe came back showing that the break is healing — one can take off the post-op shoe and start wearing the “clog-like” large toe box shoes that were bought.
One is to see a neurologist to start investigating why there are still a couple of TBI issues lingering after the concussion.

Justice Department Sues Google for Monopolizing Digital Advertising TechnologiesThrough Serial Acquisitions and Anticompetitive Auction Manipulation, Google Subverted Competition in Internet Advertising TechnologiesToday, the Justice Department, along with the Attorneys General of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Virginia, filed a civil antitrust suit against Google for monopolizing multiple digital advertising technology products in violation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the complaint alleges that Google monopolizes key digital advertising technologies, collectively referred to as the “ad tech stack,” that website publishers depend on to sell ads and that advertisers rely on to buy ads and reach potential customers. Website publishers use ad tech tools to generate advertising revenue that supports the creation and maintenance of a vibrant open web, providing the public with unprecedented access to ideas, artistic expression, information, goods, and services. Through this monopolization lawsuit, the Justice Department and state Attorneys General seek to restore competition in these important markets and obtain equitable and monetary relief on behalf of the American public.
As alleged in the complaint, over the past 15 years, Google has engaged in a course of anticompetitive and exclusionary conduct that consisted of neutralizing or eliminating ad tech competitors through acquisitions; wielding its dominance across digital advertising markets to force more publishers and advertisers to use its products; and thwarting the ability to use competing products. In doing so, Google cemented its dominance in tools relied on by website publishers and online advertisers, as well as the digital advertising exchange that runs ad auctions.
“Today’s complaint alleges that Google has used anticompetitive, exclusionary, and unlawful conduct to eliminate or severely diminish any threat to its dominance over digital advertising technologies,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “No matter the industry and no matter the company, the Justice Department will vigorously enforce our antitrust laws to protect consumers, safeguard competition, and ensure economic fairness and opportunity for all.”
“The complaint filed today alleges a pervasive and systemic pattern of misconduct through which Google sought to consolidate market power and stave off free-market competition,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco. “In pursuit of outsized profits, Google has caused great harm to online publishers and advertisers and American consumers. This lawsuit marks an important milestone in the Department’s efforts to hold big technology companies accountable for violations of the antitrust laws.”
“The Department’s landmark action against Google underscores our commitment to fighting the abuse of market power,” said Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta. “We allege that Google has captured publishers’ revenue for its own profits and punished publishers who sought out alternatives. Those actions have weakened the free and open internet and increased advertising costs for businesses and for the United States government, including for our military.”
“Today’s lawsuit seeks to hold Google to account for its longstanding monopolies in digital advertising technologies that content creators use to sell ads and advertisers use to buy ads on the open internet,” said Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division. “Our complaint sets forth detailed allegations explaining how Google engaged in 15 years of sustained conduct that had — and continues to have — the effect of driving out rivals, diminishing competition, inflating advertising costs, reducing revenues for news publishers and content creators, snuffing out innovation, and harming the exchange of information and ideas in the public sphere.”
Google now controls the digital tool that nearly every major website publisher uses to sell ads on their websites (publisher ad server); it controls the dominant advertiser tool that helps millions of large and small advertisers buy ad inventory (advertiser ad network); and it controls the largest advertising exchange (ad exchange), a technology that runs real-time auctions to match buyers and sellers of online advertising.
Google’s anticompetitive conduct has included:
As a result of its illegal monopoly, and by its own estimates, Google pockets on average more than 30% of the advertising dollars that flow through its digital advertising technology products; for some transactions and for certain publishers and advertisers, it takes far more. Google’s anticompetitive conduct has suppressed alternative technologies, hindering their adoption by publishers, advertisers, and rivals.
The Sherman Act embodies America’s enduring commitment to the competitive process and economic liberty. For over a century, the Department has enforced the antitrust laws against unlawful monopolists to unfetter markets and restore competition. To redress Google’s anticompetitive conduct, the Department seeks both equitable relief on behalf of the American public as well as treble damages for losses sustained by federal government agencies that overpaid for web display advertising. This enforcement action marks the first monopolization case in approximately half a century in which the Department has sought damages for a civil antitrust violation.
In 2020, the Justice Department filed a civil antitrust suit against Google for monopolizing search and search advertising, which are different markets from the digital advertising technology markets at issue in the lawsuit filed today. The Google search litigation is scheduled for trial in September 2023.
Google is a limited liability company organized and existing under the laws of the State of Delaware, with a headquarters in Mountain View, California. Google’s global network business generated approximately $31.7 billion in revenues in 2021. Google is owned by Alphabet Inc., a publicly traded company incorporated and existing under the laws of the State of Delaware and headquartered in Mountain View, California.
