Once I was working on a group project in a college class and one of the people was late with his input…and then it turned out to be thirteen pages in all caps. Now, sometimes this is done as a “font effect” and the letters are actually in normal case…but not this time. Since we were already late (thanks to him) and didn’t want him dragging his feet more, I had to retype the whole damned thing myself, in normal case.

Joking aside, my CPAP mask exploded two nights ago and I’m limping along with one I hate. I’m hoping for replacement pieces to show up before I become totally useless.
Since a CPAP is a life-saving device for apnea patients, I’d head for the nearest ER and tell them it’s a crisis. They’ll give you a new one and bill your insurance company. Best part is they can’t turn you away.
I have all the requisite pieces, it’s just that I’m using a mask that (a) I cobbled-together in the middle of the night, and (b) isn’t as comfortable (or quiet, or leak-less) as the one I had been using.

As an example, being a CPA, it’s easy for me to have business accounts for things — so I have a business cellphone account for the thing I never carry or use. This means that compromising my device does not compromise my data (just think if I had a “Smith Plumbing” account and gave my employees Jake, Sue, Tony, and Archibald phones — someone SIM swapping Jake’s phone won’t do anything to Sue, Tony, Archibald, or Smith Plumbing).
It really does undermine the use of phones as 2-factor authentication devices.

Yeah, this is bullshit.
The bank assures me the chip is secure, that no one can read it from a distance.
Even if true, that doesn’t make it secure; if someone steals your card they can use it.
At least chip and PIN is two factor (though we never implemented that except on debit cards).
The biggest problem is STILL “card not present” fraud, where someone steals your info and orders stuff online or over the phone. The only fix is to require the use of a card reader (you can buy them for computers), but that will never happen.

I’ve been pondering why the current Bud Light boycott has been SO successful. Why it has “stuck,” when other times, we have all said “boycott!”, but nothing really happened. The boycott of Bed, Bath, and Beyond worked out, too. And Faux Snooze is really feeling the heat right now.
I have come to the conclusion that it is because it was an attack not on individual people, but on ALL of us at once. Like “The Deplorables” became such a rallying cry. It was not an attack against President Trump, it was an attack on all of his supporters. When they attacked Tucker, they attacked our one lone loud voice. When they put a tranny on a Bud Light can, they labelled us ALL if we picked up a can of their piss-water beer.
So the key is, when the other side attacks us, we have to somehow make it about the whole of America, not an individual person. It can’t be about how “unfair” the attack is to the guy they are attacking, but how that one guy is US. If we can somehow “re-brand” every slur, assault, and smear as an attack on every single conservative American, we win every time. How do we do that?

The Bud Light situation hit at just the right time, IMO, because the public was already sick of the tranny and drag queen influences on society and children, so I think more people were ready to say enough is enough. Also, the target audience of the beer commercials was the very one that would be the most offended by the ads (colossal marketing mistake).
I hope this kind of public saturation, exhaustion, and disgust will carry over to any other boycotts that are needed. When InBev bought AB they made a tactical mistake. They laid off the majority of their brew maestros without non-competes signed. Guess what: quite a number of them DID start microbreweries. They’re everywhere. Even Phyllis Schlafly’s nephews own one.

And I also don’t think the company is going to go bankrupt. It’s international. They may have to drop one brand, but the truth is those breweries are the regional manufacturing centers for a lot of beer brands they don’t own. Yours Truly: Mr. Berenson, who, IMO, has done some great reporting on the COVID-19 disaster (especially the ‘vaccines”), has some to a personal conclusion that he is finished with the “vaccinated” whom he knows who cannot / will not, admit that they were wrong about the “vaccines.”
IMO, this type of decision will be a personal one that other people will make (or, perhaps, have already made.) “Burning certain types of bridges” can be a painful thing to do. In many cases, there’s no “future option to build another bridge.”
And it gets more complicated when there are close family members among those who cannot / will not, admit that they were wrong about the “vaccines” — and even more complicated when these family members are medical professionals themselves (and therefore “fully vaccinated and boosted.”)
IMO, it may be something to consider building relationships with / finding ** others ** (even if they’re “vaccinated and boosted” but do admit that they were wrong about the “vaccines”) who can “take up the slack” if bridges are burned to what Mr. Berenson calls “the self-righteous cowards.” In other words, creating a different and new type of “family and friends circle.”
On the other hand — Yours Truly can posit that there ** may be ** another type of option: Of perhaps waiting it out (being “neutral” and not trying to convince them of anything) regarding those “vaccinated and boosted” friends and family who, for the moment, are the “self-righteous cowards.” When (very likely not “if”) the predictions of Ed Dowd come to pass about the Medical Tsunami of injuries, disabilities, and deaths caused by the COVID-19 “vaccines” (something that is just starting to show up in real numbers) — the current “self-righteous cowards” may well be compelled to ask for help from the “un-vaccinated” in dealing with the truth.
