I’ve been following this guy for a while. He’s doing something about his weight and posting his daily progress complete with meals cooked, and videos of workouts. The weightlifting community has been nothing but supportive, and all the keto cooks are as well. Recently, Dave proposed to his girl, and they are getting married in November. His is not at all the only story of this sort out there. Why this is being politicized when these people are taking steps to help themselves be healthy is a mystery.

Allow me to posit a possible workaround. The USAF currently has at least 6 F-16s [near the end of their lifespan] that have been fully converted to remote control. In short, they are very big drones used to help train pilots.[they are designated QF-16s – there’s that letter again]

In LA there is (or at least was) a restaurant called “The Pantry”, where people from all (and I mean ALL) walks of life could go in and get breakfast any hour of the day, for a great price.
There was also Ships, on La Cienaga Blvd. (now gone 🙁 ) that had great food, and a googie-style architecture reminiscent of “The Jetsons”, complete with toasters at each table threatening to launch completed slices into outer space 🙂
Ships at 3:30 AM on a weekday was great.

What is so striking is that all of this is what the judge wrote in his ruling; it is not the attorneys’ arguments.
This lists incident after incident of the government pressuring social media to suppress speech, with screenshots from the judge’s ruling. It’s all there in black and white.
From what I saw of Christopher Wray in the hearings, he has an amazing ability to weasel out of responsibility for anything. IMO it’s time to stop questioning him and to impeach him based on what is already known. I think there is plenty of evidence of FIB misconduct on his watch.

Your closing sentence is not accurate. Judges rarely write their own orders; the attorneys submit proposed orders for the judge to use as a base. Most of the contents of a court order or opinion is what the prevailing attorney wrote.

Our Take: “Gay is the new cool? Well, that’s what we’re being led to believe.
We’re told it’s genetic, that people are born gay, bi, trans, etc. Then again, we’re also told that anyone can decide, by fiat, whatever they want, and then it becomes reality.
It’s all very confusing. And that’s the point.
The truth is, sexuality is one part nature and ten parts nurture.
Unlike our animal cousins, we actually build the internal structures of mind and consciousness that determine our sense of identity and resulting behavior. This internal mind and reality mapping, so to speak, occurs within the womb, all the way up to around 5 or 6 years of age.
The fact that humans can, despite our natural inheritance, choose to be gay, bi, trans, or whatever else, proves that human free will is real and that when it aligns with untruth, it creates problems. It also proves that when our culture, the nurture part of the equation, is sick and toxic, it causes distortions as we see in the LGBTQ community.
As proof of this supposition, we know that nearly all LGBTQ+ types have at least one Adverse Childhood Experience, if not many. If this was just a natural feature of humanity, why does it require a disturbed childhood to come online?
Psychologically, it’s not possible to entertain two mutually exclusive propositions at once. You can’t believe the sky is up and down at the same time—without paying a terrible price, that is.
The price?
Your soul. By this, I mean, the part of a person that has integrity, that is coherent, stable, and able to grow with time, without degrading or losing cohesion. Since the truth lasts forever, when we align with truth, in always possible, we create a stable identity, we nurture ourselves with the proper spiritual food God provided us.
But when we feed untruth to our children and develop minds via culture, we manufacture aberrant conditions in the human organism. This, I argue, is what caused the huge spike in LGBTQ+ identities within universities et al—because these young people grew up and were reared in the toxic cultural soup we’re only now becoming aware of, such as social media, porn, distorted sexual practices, gender-bending trends, and many other soul-bending influences.
That being said, we cannot discard those who were adversely affected. I would argue, we need to treat everyone the same way Jesus did, opening the door to all who are willing to walk through it, opening the truth to all in the hopes it will restore sanity.
When choices are made out of alignment with the truth, chaos, suffering, emotional turmoil and intellectual confusion are the result, visited upon the creature in their life experience. This negative feedback acts as a guide to encourage the creature to align back with the truth. If the creature persists in making choices out of alignment with the truth, the creature becomes increasingly detached from reality, leading to what we call insanity and mental illness. Eventually, they can covet anti-values, such as pedophilia, suppression of the rights of others, and the killing of the most innocent.

I’ve read it before but don’t have a link. Actually what I’ve read is that it’s the aborted fetal cell DNA. There’s definitely something going on IMO. I live in a university town, and there is a generational shift in how young men look, I’ll guesstimate young to mid millennials, so around 25 to say 35 year olds. They have hips and behinds like women, literally look like women from waist to knee. It seems to be not very common in the first of the Gen Z. I used to think it was soy in the food stream 🤷♀️

TBH, all creative sorts should be glad to see this. AI is a way to make us all obsolete. Hollywood has gotten stagnate and with AI it will only get worse as there is no original creativity involved, just what has already been done reworked.
I realize that I am in the minority on this, being on the side of the striking parties as they are now considered expendable by management. Management went with the concept of franchises rather than original content, and it’s killing them. It should.

It started off as a radio show, then a TV show, then books (originally a trilogy) were made from that; up to five or six, now usually sold in an omnibus edition.
The scripts are available on the web as “Fit the first”, “Fit the second”, etc. and provide the unvarnished source.
It’s been translated into many languages (including German), and the British English and US English versions are different (I prefer the british one, though I can’t find my full set of either… off to the interwebs I go).
Adams has also written other books, among them “The Meaning of Liff”, which gives new meaning to city names (Skegness, for instance). Also, “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency”, “The Long Dark Teatime Of The Soul”, and “Last Chance To See”, a documentary about animals nearing extinction…
Brilliant, funny mind, but irreverent in many senses of the word… seems to go with the sci-fi territory, sad to say…..

I once read a young adult book that had time travel & parallel universes. In that book the Russian Revolution either hadn’t happened or had failed & the Czar & family had survived. Such a fun way to envision a past or future in a “what might have been” vision. Similarly “The Man in the High Castle” book envisioned America as if we’d lost WWII & Germany & Japan had carved up the US w/ separate regions of control & a small neutral zone buffering those totalitarian national prison camps.
Amazon Prime has done a series based on the Man in the High Castle that has such an interesting vibe. They have America arrested technologically & culturally in the ’40’s though the events are, iirc, happening in the ’60’s. It’s like seeing those old cars in Cuba & not being sure exactly when in history certain images are taken.

I think there are two clips for Scarlett. The first is “Ghost in the Shell” and the second where she is sitting in a chair is “Lucy”. Lucy is quite a good film if you like science fiction.

I find it fascinating how very many people are rekindling their relationship with Jesus in the last couple of years, of course including me.
A couple of days ago, I had a really interesting conversation with a young woman who works with my son. She is Christian, grew up that way, but her family was more nominally Christian than devout. She has greatly deepened her faith in the last two-three years.
The really interesting thing she told me, though, was that she has had five friends with no Christian background at all get baptized in the last year. She said, and I quote, “young people aren’t just converting, they are running to Jesus.” She emphasized it just like that.
And I read a couple of days ago that in the last two weeks, 11,000 people were baptized at Pirate’s Cove in California, the place where they baptized people in the true story the movie Jesus Revolution is based on. 11,000 in two weeks?! Just WOW.
Something HUGE is happening in our world right now. And we get to be part of it and live it. What a time to be alive.
I cannot get over how big Greg Laurie has made Harvest Fellowship. Nondescript building in a kind of dumpy Riverside airport neighborhood. That was well over 20 yrs ago. I have no idea how he k.i.s.s. and grounded.
