Crater Lake is a fascinating and beautiful place. It’s quite freaky that there were humans around during its creation.

For those unfamiliar, Crater Lake sits inside the former Mount Mazama — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Mazama — a 12,000 foot volcanic peak. Around 7,700 years ago, Mazama had a huge and sustained eruption that blew ash over 350,000 square miles of the Pacific Northwest. So much ash was blown out of the mountain during this eruption that it left the mountain essentially hollow, and the top of the mountain caved-in to the resulting void — forming the basin that is now Crater Lake.
If you were on the wrong side of this mountain, you were obliterated by the eruption, buried under hot ash, or killed by seismic activity. On the other hand, if you were “lucky” enough to be in exactly the right place, you could witness a catastrophic spectacle beyond “Wrath of the Titans” and live to tell the tale.
It’s now on my bucket list.
The last time I was there I spoke to a woman who said to me “what if I die before I see this again?”
Life goes on. Oh. Wait. 
For just one example, everyone who has seen the videotape of Republicans being kicked out of the vote-counting room, and then dims dragging out multiple boxes of ballots from under the tables, knows there was massive, systemic election fraud.
Then there is all the ballot box stuffing caught on videotape.
And all the people who didn’t vote at all, but were then informed (by Project Veritas or OMG, IIRC) that their ballots were cast for Brandon.
And all the evidence Mike Lindell made public. And the rigged Dominion voting machines.
It’s ludicrous to pretend the election wasn’t stolen, when the evidence is screaming in your face so loudly you can feel the spittle.
And knowing this, it takes all the drama and suspense out of the MSM pretend narrative that the election wasn’t stolen.

The other day I tried to open an Instagram account, so I could see the blog (or whatever they call it there) of one of the market analysts I watch on yootoob.
I don’t like giving out personal information, so when it asked for my date of birth, I put in a fake one.
When I clicked enter, it spazzed on me.
Said something along the lines of “Your account has been declined and frozen for fraudulent activity. If you feel (always with the feelz…) this decision has been reached in error, you may appeal.”
Like I was trying to break into Fort Knox… 😂
It’s none of their *&^% business when my birthday is, but then I realized that Instagram is owned by soy-Meta, the beta-male division of Facecrook.
So apparently Facecrook has by DOB, and cross-referenced it, and when it didn’t match, it locked me out of Instagram like I was a MAGA election observer at a 2020 Arizona polling place.
I have been banned by tweeter several times over the years (every time I have opened an account I get banned), but somehow I got one of my old accounts to work (maybe it was only suspended long ago) that I had been using recently, an account that was opened before they required a cell phone number.
If I understand correctly, any new account would require a cell phone number. I don’t have one to give, and even if I did, I wouldn’t. It would be like giving my land-line number to Robo-Spam Calls ‘Я Us, Inc.
Like signing up for the “Please DO Call” list.
I could use a friend or family member’s cell phone number (if they haven’t already used it to sign up with tweeter themselves), but the hassle is more than it’s worth.
And besides, I’ll just get banned again, like always.
They can’t handle normal human communication, or posts that aren’t politically correct, and I can’t be politically correct.
The time before last, I was suspended for using the word “tranny”. Apparently I offended one of the faggot mods.

I have no idea what I was banned for most recently. I never received any contact from Tweeter about the ban, and I never received a reply to my appeal. Nothing.

Note to PAVACA: I am starting the appendixes of John Forbes’ Memoirs now. I’m on page 451. It has been a fascinating and educational book and I thank you for sharing it with us. There is so much to see and know that I never would have experienced without John’s words and photos highlighting them, and all your work to bring his words to us. I found myself copying place names and looking them up online so I could see images of each place. That way, I could better understand the architectual terms that were often new to me. It is interesting how people he knew in his early life crossed his path later.
I plan to read the book again after I finish and browse for all the places that are mentioned. It was tempting to make my own PDF copy saving more images showing all these beautiful places around the world. The book would probably grow to thousands of pages if it were a picture book. I enjoyed the section of photos your book already provides.
All this does not begin to mention his civilized, understated way with words, and the art of handling negative experiences with people or events. Understatement can be so effective and funny too. How many of us know the word “inamorata” or “inamorato” which means one we love, or a paramour? I sure didn’t. I certainly would not want to get into a disagreement with someone so capable of expressing themselves with language as Johnny. Yikes, duck!! It would be so sad. hehe
He was indeed a “renniasance man.” From learning so much about the history of architecture to rebuilding Rolls Royces (one with grass growing in the floorboards) to flying kites and dousing. He takes dousing beyond the meaning I have known and I asked myself: “Finding water remotely from just a sketch?! How did he do that?” The ad he placed to find you is so funny. It reminds me when my dear Aunt Dorothy called me to ask my advice about getting remarried years after her first husband (who we all adored) had passed away. I asked if he made her laugh. She said yes. I said Uncle Bob would want you to laugh and be happy. I look forward to reading the Appendixes this week. It has been time so well spent.
When I read your Afterword, you brought tears to my eyes for such a magnificant journey though life you’ve lived in 38 years with your Johnny. Having helped my dad just a little in his hospice days, I comprehend what it must have been like for you to help him stay home until he passed away, even though you had help and were much younger. It is a huge gift of love to another.
I just know Johnny would be proud that his Memoirs turned out so successfully and appreciate all you have done for him. I’m also going to try and find his other books including the fiction to read those too. He still has a lot to teach people like me who are curious about the world.

I used to call my parents every day and had some funny phone messages but was not clever enough at the time to move them to my computer so can’t play them anymore. My Dad was especially fun in his phone messages.
Once in awhile, I would come home from work after my parents had both passed and tell my Westies “Hey honeys, I’m home” and the way I said it sounded like my own mom. Realizing that made me happy.
Yes, either a movie or a musical would be great.
I am also glad you made it available in e-book format. I can make the text larger and more easily look up things to see in a separate browser window. I do have a large monitor so can see the windows side by side.
Plus, having not worked since mid-February, I have to be careful. In Obama’s terms, I would buy stuff locally to use some of my “city paycheck” money to support the locals in Shenandoah County. So many local businesses went out of business in those years. I’m just one person but helped a little.
I suppose I could sell the cookie jars as ammo containers. I had a lot of things I planned to sell on Ebay but it feels like few things I have are of interest in these uncertain times. Once I get busy on a new contract, then I want to get a hardback copy too.

Trump talks about stuff like “real generals” you don’t see on TV because the behind-the-scenes guys do all the work. Not because the ones on TV aren’t “real.” He talks about Biden’s “plastic nose” to point out bad plastic surgery. He points out chairs that are “light as paper” to point out Biden’s weakness when he can’t lift one. Believing this means the Biden admin is fake is pure fantasy.
I fear such logic as this falls on deaf ears. Or blind eyes, as the case may be.
It obviously does because these ideas keep being promoted. But the truth matters, and I wish more people would speak up.

When I went to school in the late 1950s/early 1960s, our family of four (two parents, two children) was considered small. Most of my classmates had at least two siblings, and their was a family with three sets of twins (which would have been four, had the mom not miscarried 🙁 ).
Other families I knew through scouting and church had even more; one with seven boys (kept trying for a girl 🙂 ), another with 12 (all musicians, I think they were trying to start an orchestra… good Irish Catholics 🙂 ) and they still have their own band; one of the daughters is a very gifted Christian singer… funny stories abound on getting all those kids around…
Anymore, the norm is zero or one child. Looking at what “only children” have to deal with, I think that almost amounts to cruelty… One or more siblings at home makes for a happier home, and well-grounded kids… OK, and sometimes often-“grounded” kids 😀
A Department Secretary at one company I worked for (Mainly Catholics) had a grandmother with over 100 grandkids!
I am born and bred Catholic. Two of my great-grandmothers came from families of 13. And those were the ones that lived to adulthood. The Acadians on my dad’s side had 8-9 on average. The original 30 families now have well over 6 million descendants.

We have two GOP reps we know in east TN. Our own, Diana Harshbarger, has supported and voted for Mike in committee when others were floated.Major supporter of Mike. In addition, Tim Burchett is from about 15 minutes from our home. He is tough as nails and a sharp, conservative businessman/politician aligned with Gaetz. He said getting Mike in was a win. When both Harshbarger and Burchett whole heartedly support somebody, I’m happy. I know we have our best option for MAGA at least at the start. We will see if the scum buckets get to him or not over time.

Senator Vance Passes Senate Amendment To Ban Federal Mask Mandates
In a 59-38 vote on Wednesday, senators, which included multiple Democrats voting in favor of the amendment, was introduced by Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio.).
The amendment restricts any federal funds from being used to enforce mask mandates on passenger flights, transit buses, trains, and other publicly funded transportation through the next fiscal year.
