No, requiring people to pay $50 and undergo a background check before they can get a 4-year PERMIT to buy ammo is NOT “a more reasonable constitutional approach.” I’m glad the judge ruled correctly in this case, but that is an outrageously inaccurate statement.
It’s called dicta, defined as anything a judge says or writes in a ruling that is not necessary to the resolution of the matter. IOW unneeded judicial rambling.
This comment prevents him from sitting over a future case involving a similar issue.
Do judges do that on purpose so they can’t sit on future cases that are similar?
I doubt it but an alert legal aide might remember that he did it and tell the attorney if the subject of bias came up.

It’s a psychological issue, part of a Big Lie?
Human beliefs appear to be almost completely narrative driven, and the narrative doesn’t create itself, it is conceived and driven by vested interests. Sure, there may be 10% to 15%, possibly even 20% who notice that 1 + 1 doesn’t equal 743, but not nearly enough to ever reach a tipping point that would counter the prevailing narrative.
Rule of Law, as popularly envisioned (i.e., laws apply equally to everyone), hasn’t actually existed for decades. It’s just a narrative, like part of the Matrix.
But because people are programmed and conditioned to believe the narrative is real, they are unable to process obvious contradictions to the programming.
Since there is no way for most people to resolve or reconcile the contradictions and related cognitive dissonance, the best they can do is dismiss or overlook the contradiction as an anomaly, in order to maintain their paradigm that ‘rule of law’ is actually a real thing.
They pretty much have to, because if they allowed themselves to see the truth about one thing, all of the related things are immediately drawn into question, and if those dominoes start falling, their entire worldview will collapse.
And apparently the majority of people are not intellectually honest enough with themselves to choose truth over their worldview, when the two are in conflict.
What seems to be happening now is the number of obvious contradictions needing to be dismissed as anomalies are piling up faster than the national debt.
Which puts most people in a position of having to pretend real hard that they don’t know certain things. Lots of things, with new ones being added almost daily.
At least that’s how it seems to me.
I didn’t really begin to understand it in a way that I could describe it until covid. Before covid, I sort of assumed that everyone was more or less on the same page, or at least within a couple standard deviations. It’s not very pleasant to consider that one’s perception of the world may be radically different than most of the people around us, including close friends and family.
But the lunacy surrounding covid ripped the bandage off and exposed the nightmare reality in a way that couldn’t be ignored. The covid insanity was like a litmus test, practically as good as wearing the sunglasses in They Live (1988).
Nearly everyone I encountered IRL was a slave to the covid narrative, even to the point of doing actual harm to themselves (vaxx), despite explicit warnings against it.
What other narratives are large percentages of the population in bondage to?
1) Orange man bad
2) Globull Warming is real
3) Covid vaxx is safe (and prevents covid)
4) the 2020 election was legitimate
5) Women good, men bad (DJT being an archetype of ‘men bad’)
6) Pedo and trans and LGBTQLMNOP+^9 is normal (girls will be boys and boys will be girls, it’s a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, except for Lola)
7) islam is a religion of peace
The above are examples of affirmative narratives.
Then there are the denial narratives:
1) there is no such thing as ‘deep state’ or cabal
2) there is no such thing as conspiracies
3) there is no invasion taking place at the southern border, and even if there is, it’s nothing to be concerned about
4) islam is not a threat to anyone
Then there are the projection narratives, where politicians and celebrities and MSM and actual prosecutors very specifically accuse and prosecute Trump, and associates, and regular Americans (J6) for crimes that they themselves are actually committing.
There are LOTS of these narratives and variations. We could probably come up with dozens of ‘main’ narratives, and multiples of lesser supporting narratives, all of which weave together to form what might be called the general public’s perception of reality.
Almost none of it based on facts or ‘science’ or actual research, it’s just narratives. Lies. Told over and over (and over) again.
It’s like the general public are a school of fish, and whoever controls the narratives (the interconnected system of Big Lies and lesser or supporting lies) controls where the school of fish goes, even if they are being driven right into the mouths of predators.

Yes. It is only as lawful and honest as the people running it. We have what is on paper — the Constitution and other laws — but if those laws and precepts are not enforced fairly and properly and in accordance with our founding principles, then things break down. We do get good rulings sometimes, but it’s not consistent.
IMO, the key is our founding principles. There are too many people in America who want to change her or who even hate America as founded. If we want to keep the republic, they have to go.

This is why I’m no longer listed as an organ donor on my driver’s license. I didn’t know anything specific mentioned in that amazing recording.
But:
1) I have zero trust in the medical field
2) I know the field of medicine is all about the money — and only money, to the exclusion of anything else
3) I had no reason to think the hospital wouldn’t murder me for my organs if I was unconscious, and I decided I didn’t want to “die suddenly” as a result of a murder-for-profit scheme by a hospital
So when the BMV asked me if I wanted to be an organ donor, I smiled and said “nope”.
Then I saw this video.

i always thought when you “donated” your organs, a needy recipient got the organ “free”…meaning they had to pay a fee for removal from my body, but the organ itself was free. nope, the hospital GETS IT FREE and SELLS IT to a donor.

All part of the verbal sleight of hand, to take value from you and sell it to another, to make merchandise of your body parts.
When they ask if you would like to be an organ donor, the clear moral and emotional impetus is that you will be giving your organ(s) to another person in need, that you can save another person’s life.
They don’t say “Would you like to donate your organ(s) to the Hospital, to line the pockets of administrators and doctors and insurance companies, who will then sell your organ(s) to someone who can afford it”, because that would be a much tougher sell.
Everything is corrupt.

I don’t know how the organ process works generally, but I know what happened with my son’s liver transplant. The transplant list was based on the medical needs of the waiting transplantees. The ordering of waiting patients was based on their medical fragility. In my son’s case he kept needing “exception points” to bump up higher on the transplant list. His liver was filled w/ masses/tumors that had been initially deemed “normal liver tissue” but then protocols changed & an existing biopsy collection was re-evaluated under the new protocols & we were told that some of these masses/nodules were “pre-cancerous” & at that point he became a candidate for transplant. His Blood Work NEVER indicated the level of liver dysfunction that would have moved him up on the waiting list.
At one point he was “second in line” for an available liver that was “perfect for him” & we had to have him NPO (nothing passed orally) pending the initial recipient dying on the surgical table & the organ still being viable for my son. I was like Heck No & we had a massive prayer session geared up to pray for the initial recipient, who apparently pulled through & was still alive when my son left pediatric liver services for adult transplant care several years later. It was bad enough that he needed a whole organ & that One person had to die for him to get an organ; I couldn’t bear the idea that Two people would die so my son might live.
I have written quite a bit about the Transplant journey with my son (it was what got me into the blogging universe at the beginning once he was put on the transplant list) at multiple blogs. YW I’m trying to be “just the facts ma’am” about it all because I have personal knowledge given what we lived through. I don’t want to make pronouncements beyond what I “know” however… 🙂
I don’t know the process exactly, but when my son was a transplant recipient it was through an organization called “Gift of Life” & the organ(s) were available within the region that the transplant hospital was located in. Supposedly the organs go to the most needy in line w/ the most appropriate/best match being the deciding factor. Our son had 3 insurances at transplant time, through my husband’s work (Blue Cross MI at the time I think), Medicaid, & Children’s Special Health Care Services (this was a specialty insurance for kids w/ very complex medical needs, about 40,000 kids in MI were on it then, & just a couple diagnoses carried this insurance into adulthood, like CF, formerly known as “Crippled Children’s Fund”) & they would be billed in that order. WE never had to pay a fee for the organ, to my knowledge, but my son being a Medicaid recipient my understanding was that it was illegal to bill us for any charges that weren’t covered by insurance(s).

When my son was first put on the transplant list the team/surgeon said his ideal donor would be “a 12 year old gun shot victim”. We had No Words for this horror. My son Josiah thought he would literally be murdering someone in order to get their liver 🙁
Unfortunately, a lot of people in a similar situation would be going, “ok — what’s his name?” while loading a weapon.
Yikes! I hope not. That whole waiting for someone to die was excruciating to me. I kept praying for the (would be) donor & their family that the Lord would give them many special memories & meaningful times & that everyone on that side of the donation would be Believers & find comfort from the Lord after the tragic loss of their loved one. It would have been so much easier if we/I could have donated a lobe of my liver to my son instead of waiting for someone’s death…sigh…

Our attorney from 30 years ago told us to not be a donor, gave similar reasons and provided a living will that represented that and other personal choices. We have left that in place and it is presented to all medical providers who request one.

Anyway, Tilak gives many proofs as to an Arctic home for the Vedas and approximates a time being between 6000 – 10,000 years ago. There are other Vedic scholars that approximate an even much longer span of time all the way out to 21,000 yrs ago.
Wikipedia has his theory marked as pseudohistorical however the only thing in his theory they seem to attack is the lack of archeological and anthropological proofs as his other proofs appear to be unassailable. These arguments against however are no longer holding up with newer information such as the one in the tweet. That one is not stand alone, there are many others as well.

This was the Biden’s administration’s way of placating people, “on paper” at least, that can’t afford an EV in the first place. This administration is great at giving lip service and spending money on projects that have no chance of working, but of course always affords them the fall-back built-in excuse of “they were doing it for the environment.”
“This tax credit provides up to 30% off the cost of the charger to individuals and businesses in low-income communities and non-urban areas, making it more affordable to install EV charging infrastructure and increasing access to EV charging in underserved communities,” the White House stated on Jan. 19.
However, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation, their analysis of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) interactive eligibility map, that explanation doesn’t hold up. Areas such as Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket in Massachusetts, Montauk and Fishers Island in New York, areas known as wealthy established locations, are classified as “low income” which means they are eligible for the subsidies.
In order to meet the definition of “low income” a Census tract must have a poverty rate of 20% or more. However, an area can qualify if the median family income is below 80% of the median family income in the wider metropolitan area or in its state if a given Census tract is not part of any particular metropolitan area, according to section 45D(e) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Large pockets of Cape Cod are also eligible for “low income” EV subsidies: In reality, the latter definition definitely skews the concept of “low income.” According to the DOE’s interactive map, over half of the landmass of Nantucket Island qualifies as low income, which one could argue is a deliberate loophole that allows the wealthy to benefit from the discounts.
The Vineyard Haven area of Martha’s Vineyard, which is another destination frequented by New England’s wealthiest citizens, is also unbelievably eligible as a “low-income” area. Many of the homes in the covered area are worth well over $1 million, with several properties valued between about $2 million and $5 million. Barack Obama owns a massive $11.7 million estate on the island, yet it is somehow a “low income area.”
