After reading through whiny Tweets all day, it seems that Tucker’s request is the only one with western media accepted. The others claim they have been asking for years.

A few thoughts on the Carlson-Putin interview:

1. This used to be normal for journalists. Mike Wallace interviewed Noriega and Khomeini, and Barbara Walters interviewed Gadaffi and Castro. They’ve interviewed terrorists, dictators, and serial killers. In the grand scheme of things they make headlines and are sensational, but rarely have lasting impact.

2. Putin has already, repeatedly, said why he invaded Ukraine. What he says here will be interesting only in the context of how he wishes to spin the war and Russia’s current position in it to the West. Which may prove insightful or it may not, we shall see.

3. This is not the uncontrolled environment Carlson insinuates that it is. Putin has no qualms about imprisoning or killing journalists, or anyone else who draws his ire by openly and effectively dissenting from his actions. This interview will have had conditional guardrails put up by Putin before he agreed to it. Some things will not be asked, or will only be asked in certain ways. What is and isn’t asked and how, will be interesting.

4. I’ll be watching it. If you do, keep in mind the points above and then add this to it. Putin is a KGB officer turned revanchist dictator who has initiated a war of conquest that hasn’t gone as he had hoped. Understand the man you’re listening to when he speaks, and filter what he says through the understanding.

Memes & Stuff

We have a bumper crop in these parts this year. Fortunately, a lot of it has already been filled in.

Have a good day y’all.

(I don’t remember who brought this to a daily in the comments, but thanks.)

And, of course, the obligatory George Carlin:

Per the Boss:

Congratulations to John Williams on his record 26th Emmy Award.

Trust me, his work is the real deal musically speaking.

And now for the obligatory message from our sponsors:

Here at the Q tree we believe in the concept of CIVIL open free speech and the discussion that fleshes out ideas. When commenting and participating in the OPEN discussion on this thread all comments MUST NOT CONTAIN personal threats, baiting, name calling, or other anti-social words fomenting hate, violence or destruction. Our host Wolfm00n has strict rules about that.

Fellow tree dweller, the late Wheatie, gave us some good reminders on the basics of civility in political discourse:

  1. No food fights.
  2. No running with scissors.
  3. If you bring snacks, bring enough for everyone

Please, stock up on blanks for celebratory gunfire, be ready to swing from the chandeliers…and no messing with the nuclear weapons.

Please remember to remain locked and loaded and ready for trouble should the insurrectionists try to invade your space.

Those who have things to say that do not fit the generally accepted limits of “civil” discussion, Wolf has provided a venue known as the UTree. You’re welcome to visit over there and say hi to anyone hanging out over there. The “Rescue Thread” is also over there. In the event a rendezvous of the tree is needed, please check it out, as well as the newest rescue venue.

Auntie DePat’s requests:

If you see something has not been posted, do us all a favor, and post it. Please, do not complain that it has not been done yet.

The scroll wheel on your mouse can be your friend. As mature adults, please use it here in the same manner you would in avoiding online porn.

Thank you so much for any and all attention to such details. It is GREATLY appreciated by more than one party here.

One other vital note:

Please, review these rules that our host Wolfm00n outlined toward the beginning of the growth of the tree itself. it won’t take long.

MARK 7:14-23

14And he called the people to him again, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15there is nothing outside a man which by going into him can defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him.” 17And when he had entered the house, and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him, 19since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20And he said, “What comes out of a man is what defiles a man. 21For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery, 22coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man.”

As always, prayers for the fight against that which seeks to enslave us are welcome.

Please include: President Donald Trump, the Q team, our soldiers in the field, special forces, tactical units, first responders and those working behind the scenes…and any and all people with family members in the hospital, COVID or not.

And…members of the QTree who no longer participate for one reason or another.

It is quite clear, as per Wolf’s message from July, that we are under spiritual attack. Building up a robust arsenal of prayer and discipline is a must in fighting the enemy and his minions.

In that spirit, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel from Tuesday’s threads, and the Breastplate of St. Patrick, not to mention the Litany of Humility are favorites recommended by exorcists in spiritual warfare.

And Dims would always indict leaving R-con presidents, if they even waited until he left to indict — which they wouldn’t.

The fact that we have educated people making these kinds of silly logical errors is actually quite scary. It means that the law is INFECTED – deeply infected – with LAWFARE – even at the highest levels of the courts.

But I’m not looking for AMY SQUISHY BARRETT to stand up, here, when she can always figure out some weird technicality to make sure Trump loses.

Aubergine

Well, that’s because they aren’t really educated, are they? Not in the actual law and Constitution.

They are educated in “muh feelings” and “muh social justice.”

Gail Combs

Why hasn’t anyone brought this up?

Amdt14.S3.1 Overview of Disqualification Clause

Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. 👉But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

The right to remove disabilities imposed by this Section was exercised by Congress at different times on behalf of enumerated individuals.1 In 1872, the disabilities were removed, by a blanket act, from all persons “except Senators and Representatives of the Thirty-sixth and Thirty-seventh Congresses, officers in the judicial, military and naval service of the United States, heads of departments, and foreign ministers of the United States.” 2 Twenty-six years later, Congress enacted that “the disability imposed by section 3 . . . incurred heretofore, is hereby removed.” 3

I had to use Yandex to actually find the law referenced!

Gail Combs

“…At this point, the more voices claiming the invasion is happening, the better.”

I agree with you there. However Sharpton is STILL A GRIFTER. So looking at the motives is useful. The hidden message is the DNC is losing their grip on the Blacks AND THAT is something to celebrate.

Yes, and the motives are obvious. He wants us to back Lankford/Schumer which will legalize the continuation of the invasion.

I actually think it is more a fear of irrelevance.

If blacks are no longer the center of the “social justice” fight, people like Sharpton are not only useless, but an irritant to TPTB.

Sharpton can see his grift coming to an abrupt end if the black vote no longer needs to be pandered to. Hispanic and Latino voters will be “all the rage.”

Thanks, DPat. Terrific picks!!

There was a time – can’t remember the specific circumstance, when Tucker was employed by Fox and pissed many of us off with one of his stances to the point I/we stopped watching him ( long after we stopped watching everyone else on Fox).

i remember at that time, we puzzled over whether he was merely muzzled by Fox from his true stance or whether he, like others, was not the authentic journalist we hoped for.

Today, I am in awe of his courage, not least because the WEF & Uniparty mouthpieces will attempt to discredit both his reporting and him personally … possibly to the extent that Andrew Breitbart was taken out of the hunt.

i pray for Tucker’s safety and his continued strength to bring us honest, independent reporting. May he wear the full Armor of God as he moves forward to MAGA. 🇺🇸🩷

TheseTruths

I remember there being negatives about Carlson. This is from March 22, 2023 (emphasis mine).

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/tucker-carlson-backtracks-private-texts-saying-hates-trump-love-trump-rcna76056

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday attempted to walk back his private text messages saying that he was fed up with then-President Donald Trump after the 2020 election, which were revealed in documents this month as part of a $1.6 billion Dominion Voting Systems defamation suit against the network.

During an appearance on WABC radio, Carlson said he was “enraged” that his private texts were revealed.

“And I think this is in the text, and those were all grabbed completely illegitimately, in my opinion, in this court case, which I guess I’m not allowed to talk about, but I’m enraged that my private texts were pulled,” he said.

The Fox News host said those texts were pulled at a moment when he was texting with one of his producers because “some idiot on the Trump campaign had sent us the name of these dead voters who had voted,” referring to his false reporting after the 2020 election that echoed the Trump campaign’s unfounded claims of dead people who were fraudulently counted as voting in Georgia. After Carlson’s segment aired, a local Georgia news outlet debunked his claim, finding that two of the allegedly dead voters were alive and legally registered to vote, with CNN reporting days later that a third of the supposedly dead voters was also still living

“And we went and I repeated them on air, and it turns out some of them were alive,” Carlson said, referring to the campaign’s accusation. “So I was just — I felt humiliated.”

Carlson’s interview came the same day as a key hearing in Dominion’s lawsuit against Fox News, in which a Delaware judge considered whether to rule on any part of the case ahead of a jury trial.

Carlson was among the network’s hosts and executives who decried Trump’s baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen in private text messages and emails revealed in hundreds of pages of court filings made public this month, despite the network’s promotion of the false claims on air.

In private text messages Jan. 4, 2021, Carlson said he was done with Trump and his unfounded claims of a rigged election.

“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait,” he texted an unidentified person.

“I hate him passionately. … I can’t handle much more of this,” he added.

Carlson’s private texts starkly contrasted what he had been telling viewers during his primetime show.

“We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest,” he wrote in another text message, referring to the “last four years.” “But come on. There isn’t really an upside to Trump.”

Those are some very negative opinions, and I don’t believe they stemmed entirely from the one episode of a Trump staffer sending the names of people who actually were alive and registered to vote, while stating they were deceased. Carlson’s opinions were all-encompassing about Trump.

That said, people can learn and change. Tucker appears to have done that, and he is doing great work to wake people up. I hope he is truly on the Trump Train.

pgroup2

He doesn’t have to be on the Trump Train in order to be right about the Ukraine Upchuck. Frankly, if being on the TT is a litmus pass/fail test, we’re in much deeper doodoo than we realize.

I suggest watching The Matrix. See how long it took Neo to get fully onboard. For a real lesson in reality, try Gaslight.

Last edited 9 months ago by pgroup2
TheseTruths

Yes. I wasn’t saying he has to be on the TT to be correct or to be listened to. I just hope Carlson sees the value and truth of MAGA because he is influential. Not a litmus test.

pgroup2

I was targeting a wider audience than just you. I meant no disrespect.

Alison

Tucker’s emails about Trump weren’t the incident I had in mind; it was something else. Frankly I don’t care if Tucker supports President Trump; I care that he is an authentic journalist who is not beholden to folks who have an agenda in what they report.

scott467

No bolts installed?

They should be careful.

You could have a door fly off in mid-flight like that.

Cuppa Covfefe

Funny thing… all of the inventory control/manufacturing systems I’ve seen over the years (and there have been many… some of them doozies) have had functions with names similar to RECINSP or various flavors of “inspection”.

Point being that material coming in was inspected by THE CUSTOMER, not the SUPPLIER… Seems at Boeing that practice has gone out of favor. Back in the day, Boeing had one of the best and brightest IT/DP/MIS/IS/EDP/etc. departments in the industry…

Alas, no more.

Letting a vendor do self-inspection for the customer (not talking final, before shipping) is a recipe for disaster, developed by and for the bean-counters. Just as bad an idea as JIT manufacturing when you are a “captive customer” (no multiple suppliers) or trying to stay in business with zero (or near) stock on hand (JIT splatter)…

Time to put an engineer at the top of Boeing and other tech giants. An HONEST engineer… (cf Dilbert strip, which doesn’t seem to be online anymore)…

[Just tried looking it up: what they did to Scott Adams is a disgrace 😡 😡 😡 😡 ]…..

DON’T get me STARTED!!! I hated ISO 9000 and the rest. Just in time is even worse. Millions of $$$ not to mention lives lost to that idiocy!

I worked for a Boeing Supplier and I can tell you I tried to fire a lab tech who I caught falsifying lab results. I was told to sign the cert anyway so I QUIT and went to the FAA. I was then bllackballed instead of having the FAA look into the problem

The continents question was actually a bad one, because there are multiple correct answers to that one;

7: N & S America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica
6: N& S America, Eurasia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica
5: The Americas, Eurasia, Africa, Australia, Antractica
5: N & S America, Eurafrasia, Australia, Antarctica
4: The Americas, Eurafrasia, Australia, Antarctica
or even:
3: The Americas, Eurafrasia, Antarctica, with Australia being an island.

scott467

I was told there would be no math.

But even so, back in the 1970s, there were 7 continents.

Pretty sure there were still 7 in the 1980s, too.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

The issue is definitions.

And really, by any reasonable definition Europe isn’t a separate continent from Asia. Not when the connection between the two is thousands of miles wide. It’s just a stupid thing that has been carried forward.

Feb 6 (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley suffered an embarrassing defeat in Nevada’s primary on Tuesday, finishing behind ballots marked “none of these candidates” by supporters of Donald Trump, according to Edison Research.

Haley, the last remaining rival to frontrunner Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, was the only major Republican candidate contesting the party’s Nevada primary on Tuesday. Trump was not on the ballot.

Parenting in the 1950s, when a mom dragging a child by the ear ALWAYS brought SMILES to other adults as the instinctive reaction.

It took COMMUNISM to create automatic disrespect for parenting.

An old family story was that my great grandmother would tie her boys to kitchen chairs by the rail road tracks out back. When my great grandfather would be coming back to the depot he would stop the train and spank them and then go on his way.

Cuppa Covfefe

That’s taking Proverbs 22:6 literally!

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

pgroup2

The interesting part is that no actual dragging was done. The child went in the proper direction voluntarily in order to avoid the pain of resistance.

Yet we still call it dragging as if an ear could stay attached if the child was totally passive [dead weight].

Ain’t language grand? 🙃

The Realist Case for UkraineThe Singular Opportunity of the Russo-Ukrainian War

The Russo-Ukrainian War is now in its fifth month and the response from NATO remains strategically incoherent. Russia has blundered in initiating this conflict. Its shambolic military performance has not only given Ukraine a fighting chance at survival, but it also presents NATO a singular opportunity to reshape the security situation in Europe for decades. If NATO collectively, and the United States in particular, has the leadership and political will to act decisively it may reorder the European military situation in ways not seen since 1991.

The realist case for this action depends not on high-minded moral arguments about the sovereignty, safety, or freedoms of the Ukrainian people, however persuasive they might be. Rather the rationale for assisting Ukraine rests on the fact that Russia is a threat to the US and NATO. Moreover, the stronger Russia is when NATO is forced to confront People’s Republic of China (PRC), the more perilous the strategic situation for the collective democracies of the world will be. The potential to neuter the conventional military capacity of Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy and in relative isolation from the PRC, is a unique opportunity NATO cannot afford to overlook….

Looks like he has fallen hook line and sinker for the “Russia BAD” crap. He certainly doesn’t see NATO as a continuation of the NAZIs or Soros/US State Dept and NATO as the CREATORS of the Ukraine mess.

University College London, which operates as UCL,[8][9][10] is a public research university in London, England. It is a member institution of the federal University of London, and is the second-largest university in the United Kingdom by total enrolment[11] and the largest by postgraduate enrolment.

Established in 1826 as London University (though without university degree-awarding powers) by founders inspired by the radical ideas of Jeremy Bentham, UCL was the first university institution to be established in London, and the first in England to be entirely secular and to admit students regardless of their religion….

It has grown through mergers, including with the Institute of Ophthalmology (in 1995), the Institute of Neurology (in 1997), the Royal Free Hospital Medical School (in 1998), the Eastman Dental Institute (in 1999), the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (in 1999), the School of Pharmacy (in 2012) and the Institute of Education (in 2014).

Jeremy Bentham (/ˈbɛnθəm/; 4 February 1747/8 O.S. [15 February 1748 N.S.][2][3][4] – 6 June 1832) was an English philosopher, jurist, and social reformer regarded as the founder of modern utilitarianism.[5][6]

Bentham defined as the “fundamental axiom” of his philosophy the principle that “it is the greatest happiness of the greatest number that is the measure of right and wrong.”[7][8]

He became a leading theorist in Anglo-American philosophy of law, and a political radical whose ideas influenced the development of welfarism. He advocated individual and economic freedoms, the separation of church and state, freedom of expression, equal rights for women, the right to divorce, and (in an unpublished essay) the decriminalising of homosexual acts….

The Bud Light ad was a mistake of epic proportions, and for that a very big price was paid, but Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company, but I can give you plenty that are, am building a list, and might just release it for the World to see. Why not, the Radical Left does it viciously to well run, Conservative companies – and people! Very nasty, but it’s the way they play the game! On the other hand, Anheuser-Busch spends $700 Million a year with our GREAT Farmers, employ 65 thousand Americans, of which 1,500 are Veterans, and is a Founding Corporate Partner of Folds of Honor, which provides Scholarships for families of fallen Servicemen & Women. They’ve raised over $30,000,000 and given 44,000 Scholarships. Anheuser-Busch is a Great American Brand that perhaps deserves a Second Chance? What do you think? Perhaps, instead, we should be going after those companies that are looking to DESTROY AMERICA!

The husband of Judge Florence Pan, who is deciding on Donald Trump’s presidential immunity case, warned about the former president’s “retribution” if he wins the 2024 presidential election.
Several remarks from Pan’s husband, Max Stier, the president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service, calling out the former president resurfaced in recent days, drawing scrutiny from some conservatives.
In a Politico interview published in December 2023, Stier warned about potential “retribution” that could stem from Trump’s plan to reclassify 50,000 civil servants into “Schedule F,” which would allow the president to unilaterally fire them.

Said somebody’s been shot, somebody’s been abused
Somebody blew up a building
Somebody stole a car
Somebody got away
Somebody didn’t get too far, yeah
They didn’t get too far

[Verse 2: Willie Nelson]
Grand pappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done
Take all the rope in Texas, find a tall oak tree
Round up all of them bad boys hang them high in the street
For all the people to see

[Chorus]
That justice is the one thing you should always find
You gotta saddle up your boys
You gotta draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
And we’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singin’ whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

[Verse 3]
We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
We’ve got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets
It’s time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send them all to their maker and he’ll settle them down
You can bet he’ll set them down ’cause

Justice is the one thing you should always find
You gotta saddle up your boys
You gotta draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singin’ whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

Justice is the one thing you should always find
You gotta saddle up your boys
You gotta draw a hard line

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I read about this today:

“Roughly 800 migrants are expected to be kicked out of Denver’s shelters as the sanctuary city struggles to keep up with aiding illegal immigrants.

City officials confirmed that 140 families were removed on Monday from the state capital’s temporary housing, with 660 additional migrants expected to be removed within the next few weeks, the outlet reported.”

https://dailycaller.com/2024/02/07/denver-boots-800-migrants-from-shelter-struggles-crisis/

But nobody seems to be asking the obvious question; removed to WHERE?

Nighttime temps in Denver this week are in the low twenties, according to NOAA, with snow expected Friday and Saturday. So where exactly are the migrants going? Will there be Popsicle people all over Denver’s streets?

Can anybody fix this border nightmare? Seriously, WTF is happening in America?

Aubergine

Gail Combs

Seriously, WTF is happening in America?

Gary Allen told us in the Rockefeller Files (January 1, 1976)

The critical chapter, chapter 10 got removed so :

Excerpted from The Rockefeller File (1976), Chapter 10
 https://rense.com/general74/planners.htm

The People Planners

The Rockefellers learned nearly a century ago that there are two standard ways for one of their companies to absorb another corporation. If the firm to be acquired is much smaller, a “take over” is the simplest procedure: buy em out.

But if the competitor is more your equal, a merger- “must be arranged”.

The same principles hold true among nations. No matter how much this country sends abroad as foreign aid, technical assistance, loans that are never repai4. or other largesse, there is simply no way another country -or even a bloc of countries- can be made powerful enough to take us over.

Recognizing this political fact of life, the master planners devised the strategy of a merger – a Great Merger – among nations.

But before such a merger can be consummated, and the United States becomes just another province in a New World Order, there must at least be the semblance of parity among the senior partners in the deal

How does one make the nations of the world more nearly equal?

The Insiders determined that a two prong approach was needed, use American money and know-how to build up your competitors, while at the same time use every devious strategy you can devise to weaken and impoverish this country. The goal is not to bankrupt the United States, we must emphasize. Rather, it is to reduce our productive might, and therefore our standard of living, to the meager subsistence level of the socialized nations of the world.

Only a fascist-socialist dictatorship would have the power to accomplish such a ” redistribution.”

:wpds_arrow: 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽.

You may be assured, however, that the Rockefellers and their allies are not talking about reducing their own quality of life. It is your standard of living which must be sacrificed on the altar of the New World Order.

The Rockefeller game plan is to use population, energy, food, and financial controls as a method of people control which will lead, steadily and deliberately, into the Great Merger. Much of the spade work for setting up this ploy is being done by Henry Kissinger, who was a personal employee of Nelson Rockefeller for a decade before Rocky placed him in the Nixon Administration. On numerous occasions Herr Kissinger has declared that his goal is to create a “New World Order.”

Nothing like almost getting assassinated to make you think twice about crossing the Cabal.

…Both economic and regulatory factors combined to spur the explosion in large takeovers and, in turn, large LBOs.

The three regulatory factors were the Reagan administration’s relatively laissez-faire policies on antitrust and securities laws, which allowed mergers the government would have challenged in earlier years; the 1982 Supreme Court decision striking down state antitakeover laws (which were resurrected with great effectiveness in the late eighties); and deregulation of many industries, which prompted restructurings and mergers.

The main economic factor was the development of the original-issue high-yield debt instrument. The so-called “junk bond” innovation, pioneered by Michael Milken of Drexel Burnham, provided many hostile bidders and LBO firms with the enormous amounts of capital needed to finance multi-billion-dollar deals…. http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc1/TakeoversandLeveragedBuyouts.html

..In January 1982, [by] former US Secretary of the Treasury William Simon and a group of investors [who] acquired Gibson Greetings, a producer of greeting cards, for $80 million, of which only $1 million was rumored to have been contributed by the investors. By mid-1983, just sixteen months after the original deal, Gibson completed a $290 million IPO and Simon made approximately $66 million. The success of the Gibson Greetings investment attracted the attention of the wider media to the nascent boom in leveraged buyouts.Between 1979 and 1989, it was estimated that there were over 2,000 leveraged buyouts valued in excess of $250 billion…..WIKI

Similar with Wolfgang Schäuble over here. He was really, REALLY conservative, yet in touch with the people, and pretty much at odds with Merde-Kuh and her ilk.

Then the WEFfenSS tried to assassinate him, leaving him paralyzed and wheelchair bound. Prior to that, he was very active physically, so it was doubly bad.

Afterward, he changed, and moved leftwards politically, into what one might call FDP territory…. I have a feeling that the assassins told him, “next time, we won’t miss”… They may have warned Merde-Kuh as well, but there are those who say she’s older than she looks, and is really Hitler’s illegitimate daughter… daughter in spirit, perhaps, because she’s the old DDR personified…

LOS ANGELES – NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced on Tuesday that it is slashing 530 employees, or roughly 8% of its workforce, due to uncertainty about its federal funding.
The Pasadena-based research and development lab said the layoffs impact technical and support staff and approximately 40 contractors.
“These are painful but necessary adjustments that will enable us to adhere to our budget allocation while continuing our important work for NASA and our nation,” JPL said in a statement.
In a memo, JPL Director Laurie Leshin told staffers the lab has not yet received approval for its 2024 fiscal year budget, including the $300 million anticipated for its Mars Sample Return project.

‘Global Moratorium’ for COVID Shots? Mainstream Science Considering Halt

For months while the COVID-19 virus, which came out of a Chinese lab experimenting on making those health threats more dangerous, circled the globe and killed millions, science journals adopted a uniform talking point: Get the shots!

That, according to a new report, now has changed, with the publication in the Springer Nature medical journal Cureus, a sibling of Nature and Scientific American, a peer-reviewed paper by mRNA shot critics…

Longtime COVID shot skeptic Steve Kirsch posted online: “People have said I’m a misinformation spreader because since May 2021, I have been publicly saying the COVID vaccines are not safe. Now the medical peer-reviewed literature shows I was right.”

report in Just the News points out that mainstream science and medical journals for months, even years, suppressed doubts and concerns about the shots, for which manufacturers were paid billions.

In fact, the federal government, led by COVID shot cheerleader Anthony Fauci, worked to suppress valid evidence undermining the promotion of those shots.

The new article, in fact, lends support for the idea of a global moratorium on those shots.

Just the News said, “The feds have struggled to keep interest high in each new formulation of the COVID vaccines, with fewer than 12% of minors, 22% of adults and just 41% of those 65 and up taking the 2023-2024 vaccines, according to the latest weekly National Immunization Survey.”

⬆️ Good news, but more need to wake up.

The Cureus paper notes that while early promotions of Pfizer’s shot trials suggested they “could greatly reduce COVID-19 symptoms,” a further review “identified statistically significant increases” in “serious adverse events.”

“The risk-benefit imbalance substantiated by the evidence to date contraindicates further booster injections and suggests that, at a minimum, the mRNA injections should be removed from the childhood immunization program until proper safety and toxicological studies are conducted,” the paper warns.

And they authors continued, explaining U.S. approval of the shots “on a blanket-coverage population-wide basis had no support from an honest assessment of all relevant registrational data and commensurate consideration of risks versus benefits”…

Ronna McDaniel Denies Reports She’s Agreed to Step Down as RNC Chairwoman in Desperate Email to Members

Ronna McDaniel on Wednesday sent out an email to members denying reports that she has agreed to step down from her post as RNC Chairwoman.

“With a news cycle full of palace intrigue and speculation surrounding all of us, I want to take the time to reassure all of you that I am still hard at work as RNC Chairwoman and building a machine that will elect Republicans up and down the ballot in November,” McDaniel wrote.

She continued, “Myself and my staff are refusing to be distracted by the outside noise and we remain committed to our mission – rumors to the contrary are simply not true. Nothing has changed and there will not be any changes decided on until after south Carolina, when we may have our eventual nominee.”

“An inside source tells me this is the RNC’s attempt to slow things down because they’ve lost control of the process, ie who replaces Ronna, who will be co-chair, etc,” TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk said on X.

Tucker Carlson Explains Why He Is Interviewing Putin: “Most Americans Are Not Informed… We’re Here Because We Love The US”

As the left freaks out about Tucker Carlson’s upcoming interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the former Fox News host (who can now be found at tuckercarlson.com) has published a pre-interview explainer over why he’s interviewing Putin – which boils down to an uncurious Western media, which has resulted in a grossly uninformed public.

“Here’s why we’re doing it. First, because it’s our job. We’re in journalism. Our duty is to inform people. Two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what’s happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away in Ukraine. But they should know, they’re paying for much of it in ways they might not fully yet perceive. The war in Ukraine is a human disaster. It’s left hundreds of thousands of people dead. An entire generation of young Ukrainians. And has depopulated the largest country in Europe. But the long-term effects are even more profound.”

Carlson notes that the Ukraine was has “utterly reshaped the global military and trade alliances” and “upended the world economy.”

He also hits on the dire state of the Post-WWII (Bretton Woods) economic order, noting that it’s “coming apart very fast,” along with “the dominance of the US dollar.”

The failures of corporate media

Carlson notes that Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky has been the beneficiary of softball, curated, Western interviews which he calls “prep sessions.”

“That is not journalism. It is government propaganda,” said Carlson. — ZeroHedge

Our Take: “Tucker’s latest endeavor is genius, and signals a new phase of Con, Inc disclosures.

DeSantis’ bid for the presidency revealed many never-Trumpers in America First clothing, but not all of them. There are many who remained Trump loyalists during the fake primary, but are now clutching their pearls at the thought of Americans hearing from the Russians first hand. A lot of effort and resources have gone into the Russia! narrative, and Tucker interviewing Putin threatens to undermine all of it.

That brings me to Sebastian Gorka, the so-called America First champion, losing his mind over the coming interview.
‘I remember when Americans didn’t do PR for KGB colonels. Well, without being agents of the Kremlin,’ Gorka tweeted upon hearing the news of Tucker’s pursuit.

So, Tucker is ostensibly an agent of the Kremlin? This is from a self-proclaimed conservative who should, by definition, value the First Amendment and the institution of free and independent journalism. Why doesn’t Gorka want Americans to hear the Russian side of things?

I’m sure his answer is some variation of, ‘It’s for your safety.’ That’s what the authoritarians always say.
Pay close attention to your favorite influencers in the coming days, and consider whether they still represent your values.
Awakening, accelerate.” — Ashe in America

MAGA
February 7, 2024 5:51 pm

Sundance, I’m requesting that you review Tucker Carlson’s actions. Does it not remind you of Carter Page? Election year with Dems in control, someone associated with Trump goes to Russia, Dems in the FBI leverage the trip to secure a FISA warrant and they get access to all of Trump’s current and past communications.
Plus Carlson’s past history of harsh criticisms, including these things he wrote after the 2020 election:
I hate him passionately.”
“we are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights” and that “I truly can’t wait.”
Trump’s talent, he said, is to “destroy things. He could easily destroy us if we play it wrong.”
and
Addressing Trump’s four years as president, Carlson said, “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There really isn’t an upside to Trump.”
https://apnews.com/article/tucker-carlson-fox-news-murdoch-capitol-attack-96c305cf4046aaf373130876940fd06e
And these aren’t the only critical things he’s said or written, they’re just texts that were brought into the sunlight through a court case.
Even if Carter Page wasn’t an operative and just did something stupid, the damage was substantial.
We also need to remember all of the snakes who pretended to be Trump allies and then bit him later. Romney, Sessions, DeSantis, Pompeo, Pence, etc. Didn’t we learn to be wary and go where the evidence leads? Remember all of the flak you took in August 2022 criticizing DeSantis? I can see by the comments to your articles that people were very very upset that you were posting unflattering info and they didn’t want to believe it and they criticized you. But you were right.
IMO the Trump camp should now completely disassociate themselves with Carlson even though the damage is likely already done. What’s your opinion?

Toyota Refused To Hop On The Electric Vehicle Bandwagon, And It Paid Off Big Time
The Japanese car giant suggested that its decision to avoid going fully electric within its fleet of vehicles, and instead emphasize hybrid machines, is likely why it’ll end the fiscal year on such a high, according to Axios.

Shares in Toyota rose nearly 50% in the last 12 months, while electric vehicle manufacturers struggle to deal with the fact that no one wants their stupid cars.

They just don’t want to buy shoes made by Legacy Auto, because Legacy Auto doesn’t make good shoes.

They make gas powered cars, which is a completely different product 😂

If you want good shoes, you get them from a shoe company, not a Legacy Auto company.

Do NOT care that Tesla cars are whiz bang popular.

EVs are NOT Green. NOR do I care about Green.

EVs ARE expensive to buy. Prolly expensive to repair. Both repair whatever breaks or goes FUBAR. Yea, all vehicles break down. EVs are obscenely expensive to repair if they are in an accident. Which leads to expensive insurance. EVs are extremely heavy. Road damage. Some parking garages don’t want EVs. EVs catch fire… Charge an EV in crazy cold weather…

Infrastructure can NOT support EVs. Available, functioning charging stations. Electricity.

EVs are a solution, where no problem exists.

From the second link:

Perhaps taking advantage of general media confusion over Tesla’s production and delivery numbers, Elon Musk claimed the Model Y crossover EV was the best-selling single model sold worldwide in the first quarter of this year. That’s not just the best-selling Tesla model; it’s the best-selling anything—more than Toyota Corolla or any other traditional high-volume commodity car or truck.

Problem is, on all the charts we could find from Tesla as well as from fawning electric-vehiclesites reporting on them, the company groups Model Y production and sales with Model 3 production and sales. Tesla delivered 412,180 Models 3/Y globally in the first quarter, and we can’t find the breakout among the two.

We reached out to Toyota for Corolla numbers, and the automaker reports it sold 740,561 Corollas worldwide in the first quarter of this year, counting all versions including the Cross. That’s about 75% more than Tesla, even if you count the Model 3 in with the Model Y. Sorry, Elon, not even close…

Topping the charts in Europe and China enabled the Model Y to lead the field in total world sales, despite it sitting in only fifth place in the United States, behind the RAV4, Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-Series.

Overall, more than 456,000 Model Ys were sold in China, representing a 45% increase on 2022, more than 255,000 Model Ys found homes in Europe, and almost 386,000 hit the road in the U.S.A. As a result the Model Y counted for two-thirds of all Teslas sold globally.”

Toyota Refused To Hop On The Electric Vehicle Bandwagon, And It Paid Off Big Time

______________

Which is like a company that doesn’t know how to make shoes that anyone wants to buy, saying it paid of big, that they didn’t try to make shoes no one wants to buy.

How do you know that Toyota doesn’t know how to make the shoes EVs? They make a highly successful hybrid, the Prius.

Whether or not they had the ability to make a viable EV when it was all the media rage, it’s possible that they might have foreseen the potential problems for now and made a wise decision which paid off.

From a search for “why didn’t Toyota make an EV”:
Toyota Chairman Says Electric Cars Will Fail to Dominate Market

Toyota’s chairman and former CEO, Akio Toyoda, said that fully electric vehicles (EV) will never manage to capture more than a third of the market and that governments shouldn’t push them on a reluctant public.

Mr. Toyoda made the remarks during a Jan. 23 company Q&A session, in which he said that peoples’ individual choices—and not regulations or taxpayer-funded subsidies—should be what drives EV adoption.

“Customers—not regulations or politics—should make that decision,” he said.

He pointed out that there are serious structural barriers that hinder EV adoption, including that around 1 billion people around the world live in areas without electricity.

Toyota supplies vehicles to these regions, he noted, and so battery-powered EVs simply can’t be a transportation solution for everyone.

No matter how much progress is made with battery EVs, Mr. Toyoda predicted that they would never exceed a 30 percent market share. Internal combustion engine vehicles will “definitely remain,” he insisted…

Toyota Chief’s Warning

Mr. Toyoda called for a “multi-pathway approach” to reducing carbon emissions that includes a combination of vehicle types, including gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, hybrids, and hydrogen cars.

He also warned that companies that continue to make fossil fuel-powered vehicles might be starved of financing by banks that have bought into the climate change-panic movement…

“People are finally seeing reality” about EV technology, Mr. Toyoda told reporters at an auto show in Tokyo in October 2023, adding that waning EV demand is a sign that consumers are waking up to the reality that EVs aren’t a silver bullet against the supposed ills of carbon emissions…

And:
https://www.drive.com.au/news/real-reason-toyota-has-been-slow-to-introduce-electric-cars/

“It’s not about being first to market always. It’s about providing different solutions that are needed by different buyers in diverse regions around the world. Australia being one of those unique regions … where the car is used for multiple purposes in a very diverse geographic landscape.

“We are a brand that stays firm to a long term plan (and) we run our own race, constantly developing and redeveloping and refining our plans.

“History indicates that this is the recipe for our success as a brand. Look at the last 22 years in the Australian market, what we achieved with hybrids even though we actually weren’t first with hybrid on the Australian market.”

When asked if it was unreasonable for Toyota to argue the majority of new-car buyers still need vehicles with long driving range, Mr Hanley said:

“When you look at the landscape, look at the mining industry, look at the agriculture industry, look at what we fondly know and respectfully know as our Grey Nomad population – and you look at the lifestyle and leisure that Australians …enjoy – we would say that’s a huge market (customer base).

…The comments from the sales and marketing boss of Toyota Australia echo those of the global boss of Toyota, Koji Sato, who opened his Tokyo Motor Show speech – ahead of the unveiling of its future electric-car plans – by saying:

“There are as many diverse needs and values as there are people in the world. The future is not decided by someone else; the future is something we all create. This is what we believe.”

_______

A hybrid is not an EV, it is a hybrid, a gas-powered car (which is structurally similar as all other gas powered cars) that has a battery assist.

If I remember correctly, it is the hybrids that catch on fire most of the time.

I’d actually be somewhat interested in a hybrid that worked the other way. A gas engine, that drives a generator that powers the wheels and with a 150-200 mile battery, that can be plugged in to charge it. It’d be analogous to a diesel-electric locomotive. And extremely versatile.

TheseTruths

But how do you know that Toyota doesn’t know how to make EVs?

scott467

“But how do you know that Toyota doesn’t know how to make EVs?”

____________

I’m sure any Legacy Auto company can ‘make’ an EV, but that’s entirely different from making an EV that is a quality product at a competitive price.

In order to do anything well, you have to actually do it. It takes practice.

If Toyota doesn’t make EVs, and hasn’t made EVs, then by definition, Toyota doesn’t (yet) know how to make a quality EV product at a competitive price.

They would have to figure out how to do it, like all the other Legacy Auto companies who have tried so far, and (apparently) failed.

My take (and I’m willing to be convinced otherwise) is that Tesla saw an opening, got in and took it. By the time these other companies spooled up to make EVs that weren’t complete jokes, Tesla had already saturated the market for such things.

scott467

I think Tesla’s head start was part of it, but I might only assign about 10% to it.

Suppose you’re Tesla, and I’m Legacy Auto.

You have brand new factories, designed from the ground up, to build EVs.

Because various parts needed for EVs are either unique or hard to come by, you end up designing and producing at least 80% of the car (and components) yourself, so you are insanely vertically integrated, cutting out the large majority of external supplier middle-men (and the cuts they would take out of your profits).

You have no union workers.

[According to someone who visited the Cybertruck assembly line, there are NO humans, it is entirely automated.]

You have eliminated a couple miles worth of internal wiring. You have increased the voltage from 12 to 48.

You have created some of the largest molds/presses in the world, to create the front and back half of the car in two pieces, and you have reduced the overall number of parts that need to be bolted, screwed, snapped, hooked or otherwise connected by orders of magnitude, because you designed everything as simply as possible from the ground up, instead of trying to use a ICE factory to make an EV.

You also design your own batteries, and mine your own lithium, and manufacture your own batteries.

You have built factories all over the world (I think 3 in the U.S., plus Germany and chyna, breaking ground on a new factory in Mexico that should take 12 months before cars are rolling off the line, based on the chyna factory) plus I think 3 more factories are in the planning stage (UK, India and I can’t remember the other one).

You are already profitable on the EVs you produce, with profit margins higher than Legacy Auto cars.

You have accomplished all of this (and much more) and you have over $25 billion in cash, in U.S. Treasuries, earning around 5%.

This is only scratching the surface. You’re in a pretty good spot. You are also developing multiple other sources of revenue, several of which will leave EVs in the dust. In 5 years or less, EVs will probably be your 3rd or 4th highest income producer. Robots and energy storage and AI will bring in much more than EV sales.

You expect to be the largest company in the world within about 3 years, and be at least an $8+ trillion dollar company by 2030 (around 4 times bigger than Apple).

You have a 7 to 10 year lead on your Legacy Auto competition, a huge moat.

You’re a runaway freight train.

Now I’ll be Legacy Auto.

My factories are all 30+ years old. The unions are killing me. Most of our cars aren’t profitable, so we make up for the losses with high ticket items (SUVs and Pickup Trucks).

We’re still using the same basic wiring harnesses and voltage system that they were using in the 1950s.

We never believed in the Climate Change scam, but it was PC to go along with it. We never thought we’d really have to make EVs, we could just pretend like we were all for it, let the government pay for our experimentation, and the fad would eventually pass.

Then this guy Elon came along and we ridiculed the shit out of him, but he just wouldn’t stop.

Now he has brand new factories all over the world.

Even if we could copy what he is doing, and throw $100 billion at upgrading our own factories to brand new, our corporate culture is a dinosaur, and we can’t change it.

We’ve tried, several Legacy Auto companies have tried. They’ve sent teams to meet with Tesla, to see how they do things, and Elon showed them.

They learned what needed to be done, and went back to their own corporate headquarters, and told their bosses everything.

They can’t do it. The bureaucracy is like our federal government. If you are on the assembly line and have a problem, you have to report it to engineering on the other side of the country. They take 4 weeks to get to it, examine the problem, and come up with a solution. Then it’s another 4 weeks to get the solution implemented, if no outside supplier or new parts are required.

At Tesla, the engineers work in the same building as the assembly line. When there’s a problem, the engineers go downstairs and put their hands on the problem, figure out a solution, and implement it, asap. If necessary, they build their own parts in-house.

THERE IS NO WAY THAT I CAN TOUCH THAT IN LEGACY AUTO, no matter how much money I throw at it 😂🤣😂

Elon is heading toward the outer planets, while Legacy Auto doesn’t even have their pants on yet.

You may think I’m exaggerating, but I’m being generous!

“He pointed out that there are serious structural barriers that hinder EV adoption, including that around 1 billion people around the world live in areas without electricity.”

_______________

This is a bogus argument.

There are 8 billion people in the world, but only 18% of the global population (or less) has a car, so whether a billion people live in areas without electricity is essentially irrelevant 😁

.

The Number of Car Owners in the World Is Much Less Than You Might Think
Here’s a look at the total percentage of car owners in the world, which might be a surprising figure to U.S. drivers.

by Mark Putzer
October 16, 2023

An estimated 18% of the world’s population own a car
In 2022, there were around 1.446 billion cars in the world, as detailed by PD Insurance. That’s a massive number of vehicles, right? However, the global population is multiple times larger, surpassing 8 billion in 2022. This means that only a tiny fraction of the world’s population owns a car.

Based on these figures, an estimated 18% of people in the world own a car. This equates to around one out of every six people.

However, the number of people who own a car is likely even lower. For one, some people own two or more vehicles. Also, there are a considerable number of fleet vehicles, such as long-haul semi-trucks and delivery vans.

There are also many rental cars. Accounting for all these things, the percentage of the world’s population owning a vehicle is probably closer to 10% — or around one in 10 people. “

It doesn’t matter whether you agree with his stance or whether you believe him or whether you think what he says has merit.

The question is Toyota’s motive for not making EVs. If he believes it’s not a viable business decision, based on whatever data he has (whether you believe it flawed or not), then that is his reason. His reason is not “we’re not capable of doing it,” as you allege.

OR if we do not warm the planet we need to release enough CO2 that when the colder oceans suck back up the CO2 it does not go below below about 300 ppm.

Seeds will not even start at ~220 ppm CO2 and even if you can get them to grow at the slightly higher levels of CO2 they do not necessarily produce seed.

SteveInCO · Thermonuclear MAGA

Toyota is more enthusiastic about hydrogen in fuel cells (which also generates electricity to turn the wheels). Hydrogen is expensive to produce and ship, but at least you can fill your car up quickly, comparable to gasoline.

Alas in the US only California has some infrastructure to refuel those things.

Shrinkage in Business: Definition, Causes, and Impact

…Shrinkage is a part of every retail company’s reality, and some businesses try to cover the potential decrease in profits by increasing the price of available products to account for the losses in inventory. These increased prices are passed on to the consumer, who is required to bear the burden for theft and inefficiencies that might cause a loss of product. If a consumer is price sensitive, then shrinkage decreases a company’s consumer base, causing them to look elsewhere for similar goods…

I noticed when I lived in Boston the prices at the local stores were much higher than the prices in the suburbs. Part is due to rent and the rest to ‘shrinkage’ and also the increased cost of insurance.
