An Interesting Point
This video by Lauren Southern is titled, “Conservative Sensitivity Training.” A bit longwinded at first; if you want, skip to 30 minutes in if you like.
Now before you tell me that’s oxymoronic (or just moronic), I have watched this, and it makes some good points.
Many people are struggling with the Brandon Economy. Yes they take to Twitter, YouTube, et. endless al. to complain and maybe even cry about it.
And we dump on them.
Instead of pointing out to them in reasonable tones WHY it is that they are having such a hard time of it. It’s the same reason we are.
Our corrupt government.
Lauren draws a parallel (starting about halfway in) between a “cry” video and Oliver Anthony (who just happens to be posted below, scroll down for a reminder/refresher if you want one). We dump on the upset 20-something woman and lionize Oliver Anthony.
The parallel is not perfect, because Oliver Anthony is identifying the cause and the 20-something may very well have voted for it.
But then that 20-something might not have made the connection. Especially if she lives in the YSM/pop culture bubble. So yes, it’s necessary to connect the dots for her. But she won’t listen to people who treat her like Cat Turd did. Her pain is real, it is caused by the same things our pain is caused by…so we should try to win her over, not (figuratively) stomp her guts out.
My close-in generation, graduating high school in the early 80s, was, and is, conservative. We lived with the Carter Malaise. Now the Carter Malaise isn’t nearly as bad as the Brandon Shitstorm, but Brandon has a distinct advantage over Carter: There are millions of people who are so wrapped up in a bubble as they suffer, that except for some true independent thinkers amongst them, the herd will follow Brandon right off the cliff. Under Carter there were plenty of conservative voices, and they could be heard even via the YSM if you looked hard enough. Now the YSM is as consistent (with itself) as the Soviet media was.
So here’s my thinking: If someone is in such a state, and it’s caused by the same symptoms as your struggles under Brandon, engage them in a positive manner, not an insulting one or even an “I’m going to win this discussion even if it pisses you off” manner. Help them see the cause if they don’t already see it.
[On the other hand, if they’re upset because of something Trump did…proceed as you would have before reading this.]

The RINO’s Dilemma
The RINOs who who have burrowed in and taken over most GOP organizations, from the state down to local organizations, have quite a dilemma on their hands, and most of them have their heads too far up their asses to realize it.
OK, I’m not talking about the liberal in a Republican area, who knows they’re in the wrong party, but is there because it’s the only game in their town; they hope to capture a nomination someday, at which point they’re guaranteed to be elected…otherwise, they never will be. These people are a hazard in any heavily conservative area.
No, I’m talking about the guys who are a little bit conservative and want to do some good by going into politics, and they’re in a closely matched area, closely enough that they can join the party they are most aligned with and still have a chance. They think the Democrats…particularly the ones who end up running for office…are nuts.
They don’t think much better of the Deplorable types, either. A bunch of bumpkins whose hearts are in the right place, mostly…OK a bit extreme. But they think Deplorables can’t understand that first you have to get elected, then work within the system to change things…a slow process. They genuinely want many of the things Deplorables want…just not as much. The government is spending too much. Or they need to spend money on highways instead of welfare for illegal immigrants. But they want to work within the system to get these things done.
Or maybe they think things are pretty close to ideal right now, and they want to nail it in place.
The problem is, that means they don’t stand for anything in particular. And it shows. They’re about as unappetizing to the electorate as a puddle of dog vomit. The folks in the middle, who they think they are appealing to because they themselves are not extreme, would honestly prefer a clear-spoken radical to someone who qualifies everything they say to the point where they sound like they don’t believe anything at all.
The problem these “Mild RINOs” have, is they just can’t see that. And the reason they just can’t see that, is their entire sense of self-worth is tied up in not seeing that. In their minds, they’ve worked tirelessly for their party, to keep those crazy Democrats out…only to have to constantly fight with a small number of crazy Republicans–who are only liabilities if they end up as candidates. They’ve fought the good fight, and if they can just find the right candidate, someone with some charisma, they might stop the crazies…without being too beholden to the OTHER crazies. In the meantime it’s not working. What’s a responsible guy in politics to do?
They simply cannot understand that the Republicans can’t succeed as the party of nothing in particular. Not really in the past, and certainly not today when people are starting to realize that no matter what they do in the voting booth, the country is still about to fly off a precipice. If they did see it, they’d suddenly have two choices: Go away and let the GOP succeed, or stay and fight. But “go away” isn’t really an option, because what’s the point of having a party now owned by the crazies, win?
Well, they have a dilemma…and WE, therefore have a problem. And we would have that problem even IF they realized that they had a problem…that they were the problem.
No one ever thinks they are the bad guy. Even Epstein probably thought he was the good guy. Right up to the moment where he didn’t kill himself.
So if you ever wonder why these unappetizing dufuses cling on even when their fingernails are being left behind…that’s why. They don’t understand no one wants them, and can’t imagine that no one should want them. And oftentimes their greatest pride is in all the hard work they’ve done for the party. They’re not going to give that up; it’d be psychological suicide.
If you’ve worked with these people, there’s a good chance you like them and consider some of them your friends. But even if so…we’re going to have to give them a good, hard shove. Because America is more important than those milquetoasts’ egos.
Justice Must Be Done
The prior election must be acknowledged as fraudulent, and steps must be taken to prosecute the fraudsters and restore integrity to the system.
Nothing else matters at this point. Talking about trying again in 2022 or 2024 is hopeless otherwise. Which is not to say one must never talk about this, but rather that one must account for this in ones planning; if fixing the fraud is not part of the plan, you have no plan.

I agree. I think one factor influencing some people is that in their experience so many on the Left just won’t listen. We see so much of this on social media and regular media and in politics that it might be hard to connect with each individual in the place that they’re coming from. The people who literally hate those who didn’t get vaxed, and so many other slights, too many to name, can make us sensitive and trigger-happy. But that isn’t a way to win people over.
And as I type that, I’m thinking I have yet to see someone won over by having a thoughtful discussion. That said, though, I believe it could happen, and I think we should try. Dan Bongino has said that it’s the third party who reads the online discussion who might be influenced–something we might never become aware of.
Agreed. There are people who so completely live in a bubble that they don’t really understand how people outside their circle think. I’m thinking of Naomi Wolf, a New York liberal, who got outside her bubble and seems to be having her whole belief system shaken up. That may have been as a result of COVID and the clot shots, or some other trigger. But she was very prominent in liberal circles for a long time.
Naomi is pretty easy to understand. As you note, she was a NYC lib. As such, her ‘bubble’ was very large. From her point of view, we were/are fringe.
It wasn’t until Covid touched her with lies she couldn’t square inside her bubble that she began to look for answers that could square for her. Instead of finding it, she came further out of her bubble. This went on until her path crossed with a few fringers. A tipping point was reached and she realized she couldn’t, as the saying says, go home any more. She wasn’t in Manhattan but the horrible fringe people weren’t … shock … horrible at all.
Downright decent, they were. And she was vaccinated but not against covid.
She was vaccinated against leftists and their defective ideas.
And if it was just her, it would be good. But she spoke to lots of others. As Steve Bannon would say, Naomi is a force multiplier.
But even Naomi is still in the dark in many ways. I read her columns, and she still can’t see a whole lot of things.

Which is understandable. I feel the same about “moderates”. When presented with the truth and they still ride the fence playing both sides I eliminate them from consideration about anything. They cannot be taken seriously.

This may be too simplistic but the Golden Rule seems to apply, or should, to our interactions, whether online or in person. If we treat others as we would desire to be treated & even find a way to “turn the other cheek” if they start lashing out then it’s possible that the conversation might go more smoothly.
The Bible admonishes us to “speak the truth in love” & that small phrase contains profound wisdom. We, on the right, tend to be truth-speakers, but not necessarily in love. People on the left may think they are speaking in love but they often are not speaking truth. To find the way to speak truthfully AND lovingly is something that seems to require us to be surrendered to the Lord in so many ways.
Striking this balance is quite challenging & perhaps stands more as an idealized goal rather than a realized conversational approach. At least that’s how it often is for me 🙂

I agree. I have a dear sister-in-the-Lord acquaintance & we’ve been exchanging emails on & off for months. I sent her PAVACA’s post on the open letter to doctors about Covid because she has a nurse daughter who has bought into the party line whole-heartedly & convinced her mom of her views. I’ve sent factual things her way a number of times. In a recent email she admitted she was sick of people trying to prove bad things about Covid or the shots so she mostly won’t look at it.
Since I’d sent her some links, or copied some Q-Tree stuff, she went off on “Q-Anon” & “conspiracy theories” & I think she basically thinks I’m a loon who needs to pray more so that I can get truth from God & stop being deceived…it’s so frustrating & results in deciding to agree to disagree. The fact that her husband is fighting cancer makes me so sad that she’d not open to info we uncover here that could be of benefit to her & her family…
When did her husband discover the cancer? There may be some internal conflict on her part.
I’m pretty sure that his cancer adventures began well before Covid & the shots. I’m pretty sure that her whole family has taken at least some of the Covid shots, though, so that certainly wouldn’t be helping her husband’s cancer outcomes 🙁

The hard part for me is when I have a close relationship with the person. After I have discussed my position and theirs, it is hard to just let things be. Rarely has any good come from continuing on the same path.
I had to do this with our previous pastor. Good man, knows the Lord, we love him. I posted about him taking the jabs without a second thought. I warned him to rethink it not to take any more after the first one and why. He did anyway. Then he had the heart attack a few weeks back and subsequent bypasses. Was slowly recovering at home and began having more heart attack symptoms last night. Back in ICU with tests scheduled today. He’s 60 years old and done even if he survives.
It’s hard. But then I think how God must feel about all of us thick skulled creations.
So sad. Thank God He does forgive us.

It’s just my sis and I, and I am the eldest. I’m actually the eldest among the cousins on both my mother’s and father’s side as well, and my mom and dad are the eldest among their sibs.
That’s precious. I’m the eldest of all the kids, basically stair-step of 5 families that have come to be called The New Year’s Gang, at least the parents of the 16 kids involved. Most of the dads were connected via scouting as youths & they all were part of the same Detroit church in their young lives, even into early parenting years, before moving outside of the city & some beyond the suburbs.
This gang of friends used to spend 2 weekends of the year on the one family’s farm in Western Michigan. In the Summer we’d be there to bring in the hay & in the fall we’d be there to do wood duty for they heated with wood.
The former farmers gathered the bulk of us all to celebrate their 50th anniversary a few years back & reprised the “farm olympics” that had coincided with one of our 1970’s era summer visits. Our “olympic medals” both times consisted of milk filters hung on bailing twine w/ sharpie written standings 🙃
Being the eldest of all the city-slicker kids meant that there were a couple Summers where I got to spend an additional week on the farm helping out w/ various chores & getting some real world experiences. The next youngest kid, Susan, was with me there at least one Summer & we had a blast together.
My dad is the youngest of a whole pack of first cousins on his dad’s side & now he & his sister are the only living cousins on that side of the family, both in their mid-upper 80’s. His sister hopes to outlive their dad’s dad who lived into his 90’s & worked in lumber nearly 80 of those years. He died just before my parents married.

On a completely different note, the Fiancee is gearing up to visit Rome later this year. As I recall my own time in Rome, lo these 40-some years ago, I’m prompting her with things to do and places to visit.
One such place is the Villa d’Este [
], bedecked with fountains. It is situated in Tivoli, which is near Rome — but cooler and more restful. The Emperor Hadrian also constructed a villa there, 1500 years earlier, which was originally to be a summer getaway…..he eventually stayed there year-round and dealt with Rome via courier.
This reminded me of another famous summer getaway — Sintra, which is the cooler and calmer adjunct to Portugal’s capital, Lisbon. As might be imagined, it has a mind-boggling beautiful castle —
The Villa d’Este has hundreds of sprays and jets and waterfalls…..but not a single pump. The water is captured from a river above the villa and released on the plains below. It’s all done by gravity.

Judge Tosses Challenge, Upholds Law Allowing ‘Noncitizens’ To Vote In DC

Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an appointee of President Barack Obama, found that a group of seven citizen plaintiffs lacked standing to challenge the legislation.
They argued that “noncitizens” do not have a fundamental right to vote in the United States and that allowing them to cast ballots and hold office in the District of Columbia dilutes the votes of U.S. citizens.

However, in an opinion issued Thursday, Judge Jackson determined that the seven plaintiffs failed to demonstrate “that they have personally been subjected to any sort of disadvantage as individual voters by virtue of the fact that noncitizens are permitted to vote, too.”

Just The News: “Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, argued that the 101 House Republicans who voted in favor of the massive $1.2 trillion spending bill that passed on Friday supported legislation that contradicts their own policy positions on issues like illegal immigration.
The final vote was 286-134 with 185 Democrats and 101 Republicans voting in favor of the measure in the House.
“DHS funding contingent on signing H.R. 2 into law, that’s what we did last year to make sure our border would be secure; that is punted, so you own it,” Roy said Friday on the House floor.
“Defunding Alejandro Mayorkas, we did that in our bill, this punts that, it’s no longer there, you own it. Prohibiting the mass parole and release of illegal aliens via the CBP one app. We did that in our bill last year. This bill gets rid of it, you own it. You own the continued mass parole of illegal aliens into our country. You own that. That’s the truth,” he added.
Roy referred to college student Laken Riley’s murder to support his position. “It was masked parole that led to a Venezuelan gang member coming into the United States and killing Laken Riley,” he said. “My Republican colleagues cannot go campaign against mass parole and use the name of Laken Riley because you passed a bill in her name when you fund the very policies that led to her death.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said the increased amount of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) beds in detention centers was a win for Republicans, but Roy described the situation differently because the U.S. Border Patrol will continue to process more migrants and release them into U.S. communities under the Biden administration’s border policies.
“The increased number of beds for ICE will not be used because there’s memos in place by Alejandro Mayorkas, whom we impeached and whom this bill will fund, those ICE beds will not be filled. They won’t be used and we know it,” he said. “We set out to prohibit DHS from fast tracking asylum. This bill doesn’t do that.”
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, also said the extra beds would likely be empty. “Those beds are going to go empty. Why? Because you’re going to ship these people out as soon as they get here. That’s what’s happening within 24 hours,” he said on the House floor. So the crimes, the fentanyl deaths, the terrorist initiatives that are coming our way. You vote for this. You’re funding it. You own it.”
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., called for Democrats to support passage of the legislation to “defend the gorgeous mosaic of the American people.” In response, Roy questioned what Jeffries was referring to with his “mosaic” comment.
“I assume, by the mosaic, that anyone who votes for this bill today will be supporting that we’re talking about $156,000 for the Hartford gay and lesbian health collective, an organization self-described as champions of LGBTQIA equity and provides training and cultural competency and access to health care for LGBTQ youth,” he said.
“Or $2 million for an Oregon clinic that provides hormone therapy for kids; or the $850,000 for gay senior housing in Massachusetts, or $400,000 for the Briarpatch Youth Services in Wisconsin that has a gender affirming clothing program for kids 13 to 18, or $400,000 to the Garden State of Quality Education Fund, which helps minors transition genders, promote biological boys playing girls sports, and using the same restrooms. I could go on and on.”
Roy continued, saying, “How about the million dollars for the Inner City Muslim Network, which calls for the destruction of Israel? That’s what we’re funding. That’s precisely what we’re funding in this legislation.”
Roy lamented the $200 million in the bill for the new FBI headquarters, despite Republican criticism of the agency’s handling of issues like the Russia collision probe, the Christopher Steele dossier against former President Trump and the raid of Mar-a-Lago. “The FBI is getting a brand new shiny headquarters, despite running roughshod over the American people, spying on them,” he said. “And by the way, we extended FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] to continue spying on the American people.”
Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., described the bill as “insanity” due to wasteful spending inside the text. “Are you agreeing to $500 million for Jordan, including $150 million for border security in Jordan? Are you agreeing to $125 million to help Egyptians attend college in Egypt? Is this where you want your money?” Norman said in a speech on the House floor on Friday.
Norman wanted the House to vote the bill down and shut the lights off in the chamber despite the Friday expiration of government funding. “Vote this bill down, take that mace down which has to be in place, i’s been in place for 182 years to have session in the House of Representatives,” he said. “Cut the lights off and until the Senate accepts a total shutdown of the border, until they accept a total H.R. 2, we don’t come back. Why fund the government that’s working against us? It is total insanity.”

As my mind was wandering about nothing specific, I had a random thought cause a curiosity response in my brain. Given that there has been lots of commentary about the increased frequency of turbo-cancers and other significant health-destroying diseases, I was reminded that the most common explanation has been the covid vaccines as the obvious causation factor. That is an assumption that may not be correct. I remember 10 years ago when the latest plague upon the human race was going to be 5G cooking everyone’s cellular structure. Finally to make the trifecta complete the wide consumption of GMO foods may be a causative factor. I am sure more could be added but for the purposes of this discussion let those three be the primary variables.
The question: How would you design a study to demonstrate the assumed hypothesis that the vaccines are responsible? There is a natural population of vaccinated and unvaccinated. There is a natural population of 5G subjects, urban and rural. The GMO variable would be harder to find a control group although there is a population of organic food enthusiasts but many of them live in cities and would suffer from 5G exposure.
What questions would you be trying to answer?
What other questions do you think that such a study should answer?
The danger in even conducting such a study is that nefarious characters would invade the process and corrupt it or worse yet, the study might be inconclusive.
Then we would get the ‘see … SEE’ narrative. The bubble wall might well be impenetrable from that point forward.
While that thought has occurred to me as well, it leads to the death of science. If political or cultural concerns determine what will or will not be studied then every argument will rest on theoretical preferences of the debate. The purpose of science is to investigate the material universe with data-based conclusions that will lead to a better understanding of what we think is true. It remains the responsibility of the interested reader to assess the possible flaws in the experiment.

First of all, speaking for myself, I would not spend my own time on the studies, because I’m fairly convinced at this point that 5G and food from GMOs don’t have highly plausible and likely mechanisms of action in causing cancer, while mRNA vaccines do, and thus I do not personally wish to promote what I regard as red herrings being advanced by all the usual villains.
That said, I think the fastest way to do this deconvolution of cause would be to conduct “total lifestyle analysis” of all turbo-cancer patients. Thus, any patient with a rapidly advancing cancer would be asked to submit to a deep study of past, present and future 5G exposure, as well as retrospective and prospectively recorded diet. There would be correlations, but IMO they would not correlate mechanistically to either 5G or GMO, but rather to overall healthy and unhealthy lifestyle, and BOTH of those would correlate substantially less, by orders of magnitude, relative to VAXXED vs. UNVAXXED with mRNA vaccines.
I think the study would put the question of relative risk of the 3 items to rest, but would not finish off the possibility that 5G and GMOs have some small effect.
Your last paragraph I think is the best answer for such a study. If such studies did demonstrate that the vaccines were the best explanation for the turbo-cancer phenomenon it would give proponents of the debate added confidence that their explanation is closest to the likely conclusion.
Maybe in order to drill down easier the study could be on young turbo cancer patients. They would have less lifetime bad habits or lifestyle causes to muddy the statistics?

It came to mind because of the young man I’ve mentioned recently.
He went to Dr. around March 5th with an annoying itch. Doc notices a lymph node. A week later..a biopsy. A week after that..positive lymphatic cancer. Last Fri diagnosed stage4.
The guy is only early 20’s, very clean lifestyle. Solid upper middle class childhood. No exposure to Round Up. No family history of cancers. However he has had multiple vax shots/boosters. One person doesn’t make a study but it’s an example.

The fast-food chain announced that it is shifting from No Antibiotics Ever (NAE) to No Antibiotics Important to Human Medicine (NAIHM) regarding its chicken this spring.
According to Chick-fil-A, NAE means no antibiotics were used to raise the animal while NAIHM restricts the use of antibiotics that are important to human medicine and commonly used to treat people. It also allows the use of animal antibiotics only if the animal and those around it become sick.

A quick reporton the El Paso County Colorado GOP assembly. (El Paso county is the one Colorado Springs is in and is the most populous county in the state.)
Most of my districts span multiple counties (congressional district 4 and state house district 56) so nothing to do there meetibgs will be held for them in a couple of weeks. those districts go clear to Kansas and nebraska.
But Coubty commissioner district 2 is of course entirely within the county. The incumbent is a RINO who petitioned onto the primary ballot (didn’t want to face the party base). Two challengers, Guido and Johnson.
Both seemed like strong candidates but scuttlebutt was that Guido was the more conservative. OK so i was predisposed to favor him for that reason.
Johnson’s brochre bragged about a master’s in political science and a doctorate of education. That sealed the deal i voted for Guido.
Guido got 86 percent of the vote. Johnson needed 30 percent to make the primary ballot so he got crushed out of existence.
Guido goes on to face the incumbent (who petitioned on) in the primary. I have known the incumbent to win under such circunstances so I warned him.
Lauren Boebert (who moved from cd 3 to cd4) was there. I am an alternate for that convention in two weeks so I expect I will be hearing from her. I did get my picture taken with her and I told her how I sprnt the last two years wishing i were in her district and now I am!

There was another candidate in another race, who when asked to introduce himself to the entire county assembly before things broke up by state house and senate districts, sounded so much like Inigo Montoya I actually leaned to the almost-stranger (we had exchanged some pleasantries and anti-RINO snark) next to me and whispered, “…you killed my father.
