I Will Fear No Evil
In one of the most consoling passages of the Bible, we discover this confident claim: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). The psalmist, King David, has learned that God’s presence with him overcomes even the very worst things he can face in life.
Psalm 23 introduces us to the Lord as a faithful, loving, and compassionate Shepherd, an image that’s familiar throughout both the Old and New Testaments. As we get to know God as our Shepherd, we begin to see how He guides us, cares for us individually, and protects us. We realize that we lack nothing because our Shepherd is with us, directing our path and looking out for our every need. Even if He leads us into a dark valley we, like David, can say, “I will fear no evil.”
The word translated “evil” in the original Hebrew language means “that which causes harm, misfortune, trouble, danger, destruction, or injury of any kind.” Even in the most challenging times, David says he would not fear any harm. We don’t have to be afraid because the Lord our Shepherd walks with us through the dark valleys of life. He is with us in times of loss, illness, injury, and grief. Even in the blackest seasons of life, we don’t have to fear harm because God is with us.
God has repeatedly given this reassurance to His faithful followers throughout the Bible. To the patriarchs, God said, “Fear not, for I am with you” (Genesis 26:24, ESV; see also Genesis 15:1). To the armies of Israel, the Lord promised, “When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you” (Deuteronomy 20:1).
As Joshua and the people of Israel prepared for battle against enemy nations in the Promised Land, God said through Moses, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6; see also 31:8). Through the prophet Isaiah, God proclaimed, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand (Isaiah 41:10, NLT; see also 41:13; 43:5). The writer of Hebrews reminds us of God’s promise, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
Fearing evil and trusting God don’t mix. When we are confident in God’s goodness, we can say with the psalmist, “The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). If we believe that God is on our side, we acknowledge, “The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Psalm 118:6, NLT). When we start to experience fear, we know it’s time to put our trust in God (Psalm 56:3). As we turn to Him in prayer, He will free us from fear and fill us with His supernatural peace (Psalm 34:4; Philippians 4:6).
In our darkest, most trying times, we must remember that God is near (Psalm 34:18). He is our Shepherd, and we are in His constant care. Throughout our lives and even in death, His goodness and love will never fail us (Psalm 23:6). Only when we are secure in the knowledge that our Good Shepherd is with us can we confidently say, “I will fear no evil.”

Legislation proposing criminal charges for undocumented immigrants entering Louisiana has passed a committee in the House of Representatives.
The bill moving forward Wednesday from the Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice is similar to legislation in neighboring Texas. It passed the panel 7-4 and was opposed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and migrant groups.
Next would be a House floor vote.
The Senate, by 28-11 on April 9, has already passed Senate Bill 388 sponsored by Sen. Valarie Hodges, R-Denham Springs.
If it becomes law, the governor could set up a border compact with Texas.
The penalty for a first offense would be a maximum of six months in prison and any subsequent offenses could draw up to a year in prison.
“This bill addresses the crisis of illegal immigration we are seeing across the nation, but addresses it specifically for Louisiana,” Hodges said. “So all of us in this room know that it is no secret that our country is being overwhelmed with a growing invasion of more than 10 million, people who came here without verification or identity or permission.”
Hodges said her bill was necessary because the federal government was not enforcing border control policies.

On Dec. 22, 2000, a newborn was found abandoned in a common hallway. For Eyster, the case of the “Baby Boy Doe,” swaddled in cardboard and blankets, didn’t end after the child got to the hospital. “I went back with a teddy bear,” Eyster said. “Just a symbol to let everyone that walked past know that he was cared about.”
For more than two decades, Eyster wondered what became of that boy. Unfortunately, records were sealed so there was no way to find out. That was until just a few weeks ago, when Eyster got a phone call from a fellow officer, who asked Eyster if remembered the case of the baby left in the carboard box.
“And he (the officer) said, ‘he’s (the baby) sitting next to me, he’s my rookie,’” Eyster recounted.
The rookie in question was Matthew Hegedus-Stewart, the baby in the box. After his rescue, he was placed for adoption. He always knew he had been left in a box, but only connected the dots to Eyster after joining the department.
Today, Hegedus-Stewart wears the same uniform Eyster did and patrols the same neighborhood. “Full circle moment,” Hegedus-Stewart said. “That hit home. I can only imagine from his point of view.”
He really can’t imagine. Because what to Hegedus-Stewart may feel like a coincidence, to Eyster feels divined. Their reunion and their new friendship came just a few months after Eyster’s only son, Nick, died unexpectedly at the age of 36. “So the timing couldn’t have been any better, it helped to fill a void that I’ve had to deal with,” Eyster said.
Twenty-four years ago, Eyster was called to be there for a child in need. Now, the child is set to return the favor. And whether it’s a coincidence or not, the result is undeniably great police work.”

One hopes her cardiologists explained to Ms. Tarque that myopericarditis is a COMBO heart issue; that myocarditis / pericarditis DAMAGE and/or DESTROY heart tissue; that the heart DOES NOT (except in very rare instances, and even then in a very limited way) regenerate / create new heart tissue to replace damaged / dead heart tissue; that she’ll likely need to be on heart medications for an INDEFINITE amount of time; that she’ll need to be MONITORED by her cardiologists; that she may likely have to GIVE UP her rigorous training schedule and do less-vigorous exercise (possibly for the rest of her life) — AND, that the COVID-19 “vaccines” that she took can potentially cause OTHER TYPES of damage to her.
Second: There’s also the fact that Ms. Tarque is 29 years old — nowhere NEAR the “adolescent and young adult” age range that the CDC / FDA grudgingly admits “there may be rare cases of myocarditis caused by the COVID-19 vaccines” about.

I think that pressing charges is the best way to deal with this kind of thing.
The guy admitted it was a stupid thing to do, now that he had gotten caught and was facing consequences. His wife was not happy, seemed on the verge of tears toward the end, and told her husband “Don’t!” when he started saying, again, how stupid it was. She was distraught about what would happen next.
I wonder if anyone will learn from seeing this, or will think twice before doing criminal mischief.

Maybe they are trying to freak people out, but I just view it as science. There are cycles of the sun, and the next one we’re due for, after the solar maximum, will make the earth’s temperature a little cooler, if I understand correctly. I’m interested in the effects that could have on winter temperatures, but also in how it’s good evidence for anti-global warming arguments.
Note they have gone from Global Warming to Climate Change in order to cover cooler weather when it becomes obvious.
Doubt that satellites will tumble back to earth. More likely they’d turn into low altitude meteors.
I wouldn’t even expect that much, unless a satellite in low earth orbit loses its ability to stationkeep due to fried electronics. Something in geostationary orbit might be bricked but won’t come back down, not in thousands or even millions of years.
In low earth orbit there is some small amount of drag from the very thin atmosphere up there. The ISS has to periodically re-boost itself, for instance. Left alone it would eventually pull a Skylab and come back.

One part of my activities today was weed-whacking the backyard until the weed-whacker performed a rapid unscheduled disassembly about 1/3 of the way through. I zippied out to Home Depot to try to replace the beastie, thinking I’d just carry on…..and the zippidy done doo-dah’d. So I had my shoes off and was having a beer and a sammich when I responded to the pic — clearly my brain had not caught up.
New string-trimmer has been assembled and is ready to go.
Lol. A large part of my day was spent with men doing hard physical labor. My son informed me that when men work hard, their brains turn off. So I was not allowed to pester them with details!
