Buy Bitcoin.
In six months, that $100 could easily be worth $200, maybe more.
Early Monday, Bitcoin was $66,309.
At 8:20pm it was at $71,428.
That’s a 7.7% increase in one day.
Or Cleanspark stock, the premier Bitcoin mining company, which had a low of $15.70 and finished the day in after hours trading at $18.90
That’s a 20% increase in one day. The best miners generally go up (or down) nearly 3x what Bitcoin does.
That doesn’t mean buy it and forget about it, you have to pay attention to the market. Bitcoin goes in 4-year cycles, with high volatility in previous cycles. In the past, Bitcoin has seen 80% sell offs. If you get underwater (Bitcoin or Bitcoin stock proxy is worth less than you paid for it), you can take the loss if it isn’t too much, or worst case, you just hold for the next two years, when it starts going back up again.
Or dollar cost average during the bear market to lower your cost basis, and get back in profit sooner, long before the next bull market cycle begins.
It’s a roller coaster, with sometimes multi-month sideways chop, punctuated by sudden upswings in price, before consolidating for the next push upward.
It was much riskier (and so far, more volatile) the last three cycles, before the ETFs were launched and the big institutional investors started buying. So far, that has caused pullbacks to be much less than previous bull markets, because there are so many big investors with deep pockets looking to buy the dip.
So instead of a 30% to 40% correction during the bull market, it has been more like a 10% to 15% correction, before resuming upward pressure.
It seems the hardest part to grasp for people who are new to Bitcoin is that the amount of Bitcoin is finite. There is only so much of it, and only so much that can be produced each day (450 Bitcoin per day, currently).
As more and more people are interested in buying it, there is less and less available for purchase.
It’s basic supply and demand, but for (as far as I know) the first time ever in human history, in the case of Bitcoin, the supply is fixed at 450 per day (will drop to 225 per day in 2028).
The U.S. ETFs alone are buying up to 4,000 per day (sometimes more), and that doesn’t include everyone else in the world. There are only 450 new Bitcoin being mined every day, so the rest has to come from what is available on the exchanges, and that supply is dwindling.
Everyone is waiting for the supply crunch, when one of the ETFs goes to make their 1,000+ daily purchase (Blackrock and Fidelity do the majority of the U.S. ETF daily volume) and it’s all gone.
At the current rate, that should happen before the end of this year.
If investors have bought shares in the ETF, the ETF is required to buy Bitcoin for the fund.
If there isn’t any available except for on the exchanges, then they have to bid higher. If no one offers to sell, they have to bid higher. If still no one is willing to sell, they have to bid higher, and they have to keep on bidding higher until someone is willing to part with their Bitcoin.
The ETF doesn’t have the option of saying “That’s it, I’m not going to pay any more than that, that’s my final offer!“. If someone has bought shares of the ETF, the ETF has to buy Bitcoin to back those shares, so the ETF has to keep raising the bid until someone sells.
This has never happened before, because there has never been any other asset or commodity that has a finite supply.
With stocks, a company can always issue more stock, or do a stock split, to increase the number of shares available. With copper, silver, gold, platinum, etc., they can always explore, locate and produce more to meet demand (it will take some time obviously, but if price rises enough, mining companies are incentivized to find and produce more).
But there is no way to make more Bitcoin, not more than 450 per day.
There have been about 19 million Bitcoin mined since 2009, and there are about 2 million more to go before reaching the 21 million production cap, when Bitcoin mining ends permanently (which will be about 130 years from now, IIRC).
Of the currently existing 19 million Bitcoin, it is estimated that around 5 million have been ‘lost’ (i.e., the password is lost, so it can’t be accessed, so it’s effectively gone).
That leaves around 14 million Bitcoin that is available to be bought or sold, plus the 450 new Bitcoin mined each day.
There are over 8 billion people in the world. 14 million Bitcoin.
The institutions have arrived and they are buying, since the ETFs were launched on January 11th of this year. It was just announced the other day that the state of Wisconsin’s pension fund has started buying the Bitcoin ETFs. They bought $100 million dollars worth. More than half of the world’s largest hedge funds are already allocating to Bitcoin ETFs.
It’s going to be interesting.
FWIW, for a time Badlands was advertising these guys saying you could get into bitcoin for as little as a dollar. However they are no longer advertised. You would have to ask G-Money (or Patriots in Progress) why they advertise GoldCo instead now.

I don’t know enough about the technical Internet aspects to provide a good answer, you would need a techie for that (or at least someone with more technical understanding than I have).
If the gov’t could just block access, I don’t know why anyone would use Bitcoin, because it would defeat the whole purpose.
edit: if one is just looking for price exposure, I would use the ETFs, or a proxy like Microstrategy (ticker: MSTR) or a miner like Cleanspark (ticker: CLSK), or a combination.
If one is looking to take personal custody of Bitcoin, I would recommend one of the multi-signature services, where they create a 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 signature situation, in order to access your Bitcoin.
If it is 2 out of 3, you have one ‘key’ (code), you keep a second key in a secure location (e.g., Safe Deposit box, or buried, or in a different jurisdiction, etc.), and the multi-signature company holds the third ‘key’.
If anything happens to your primary ‘key’ (e.g., lost in a fire, flood, or simply misplaced, etc.), you still have your backup key and the multi-sig company has the ‘second of three’ necessary to access the Bitcoin. In the unlikely event that something happens to the multi-sig company, you still have access to your own two ‘keys’ which should be stored in different locations.
There are at least 3 or 4 companies who have been providing this service for years now, and they would be able to answer technical questions far better than I would 👍
I am seeing things that look like vending machines, but claim to sell bitcoin, in convenience stores.
Even if legit I am sure the fees are sky high.
OR they are selling tokens they call ‘bit coins’ to the gullible.
Apparently they are very popular in Canadia (and other places). I haven’t seen one yet, but they should be legitimate. No idea what the fees might be, but I would guess those vending machines are for relatively small amounts.
Where does that btc go though? How is it stored? Or more precisely, what do you need to bring to the machine to store it?
I know it’s possible to store BTC “offline” so I imagine it’s something like that.
Bitcoin always remains on the blockchain, what you actually have custody of is the ‘key’ or password or seed phrase to your ‘wallet’.
There are ‘hot wallets’ which are online, these are only recommended for small amounts, because anything online can be hacked.
I think what you mean regarding ‘offline’ is transferring the Bitcoin to a ‘cold wallet’. A ‘cold wallet’ is sort of like a thumb drive (but specialized for Bitcoin), which is only connected to the Internet when completing a transaction. Some ‘cold wallets’ are never directly connected to the Internet for maximum safety, they are always ‘air gapped’ for security.
If your cold wallet is lost or destroyed, if I understand correctly, so long as you have your seed phrase, you can buy a new cold wallet, and use your seed phrase to reconstitute your account access, using the new cold wallet.
It’s the kind of cryptographic stuff people like you and Coothie would love.
You have a public key (a long string of letters and numerals) and a private key.
The public key only allows Bitcoin to be transferred TO your account, so there is no possible harm from it being public. If someone wants to send you Bitcoin, you send them your public key. Lots of people on youtube or on websites have their public key posted in order to accept donations.
The private key is the one you don’t share with anybody. That key gives you access to spend your Bitcoin or transfer it from one wallet to another (or to an exchange to sell it, etc.).
I’m not sure how a Bitcoin vending machine would work. If I had to guess, you would put cash into the machine, or transfer U.S. dollars from a debit card or Visa / Mastercard, and the vending machine might generate a unique QR-code for the amount you purchased in Bitcoin.
Either a printout to scan later, or an image on the screen that you capture with your cell phone at the moment of purchase.
What you do with it from there I don’t know, I’m not a cell phone person 😁

I’m not sure I explained it properly, it’s not that it is overly complicated, but I don’t have a deep source of personal experience to draw from, so it is harder to explain the more technical aspects.
I understand the concepts and the arguments (in support or against) much better than the technical details.
This is (in large part) why the ETFs were such a big deal. It removes all of the need for technical understanding and know-how, and makes it as easy as buying or selling a stock on an online brokerage account.
There are certainly trade-offs regarding ETFs that hardcore Bitcoiners would never accept.
Their favorite expression is “Not your keys, not your coins”, and it’s a valid point from a purest perspective.
When you buy shares in an ETF, you don’t have any ‘keys’, the ETF has the keys.
So for people who are involved with Bitcoin from an ideological standpoint, or from a personal freedom standpoint, wanting to be outside of the Matrix, direct custody is the only way to go.

On the other hand, if you own even 1/10th of a Bitcoin ($7,000), then $160 to secure your Bitcoin is a small price to pay.

I think the multi-signature companies charge a 1% fee, so if you have (for example) $250K in Bitcoin, the fee to set up your multi-sig security would be $2,500.
Certainly worth it to anyone who has enough Bitcoin to make it worth their while to secure it.

Yes, anonymity is a huge bonus with the vending machines, since there is no ‘KYC’ (know your customer) nonsense involved, if I understand correctly.
I think I read that the Bitcoin vending machines in Canadia have (somehow) a daily or weekly limit of $3k.
I don’t know how the machine would know whether the same person was withdrawing $3K multiple times, if the machine accepts cash and there is no means of personal identification (e.g., KYC).
Now I just have to remember where I saw the thing.

It looks like the Trezor Model 1 is $59 direct from the Trezor website.
Trezor has a good reputation, I have never heard or read about any problems with Trezor.
It is always best to purchase direct from the manufacturer, because buying from any 3rd party could result in a cold wallet that has been tampered with, to provide some kind of back-door access.
So that rules out buying any cold wallet on eBay, for example.
Amazon is probably okay, so long as the seller is the manufacturer (I think several manufacturers have Amazon stores in addition to their own company websites), but I would probably rather not chance it, and just buy direct from the manufacturer.

yes, banned from the gospels because it’s not divinely inspired, thus not the word of God as like all the gnostic stuff. Gnosis means its routed in Sophia (knowledge). Doesn’t make it wrong and may be a good tool for the tool box, but it is exclusionary which was the big fear, and could easily be run to an extreme if in the wrong hands. IMO not wrong to ban it from the Gospel, but it was also eradicated as a line of thought and those holding the thoughts were purged as well.

A few years back Wolf and I disagreed on using the word “enormity” to mean something really enormous, when its etymology (enormitas, deviation from the normal or legal – – nothing to do with size or volume), and the long history solely of its original meaning, logically excluded the completely different modern usage. What rubbed me the wrong way was the mindlessness of the modern usage which was based on something sounding like something else entirely different, like the guy who was fired for correctly using the word “niggardly.”
Wolf’s reasonable and probably more realistic pov (IIRC) was that language always changes over time, sometimes illogically, and that current usage makes a meaning valid through sheer acceptance. We did not discuss the malign (and distorted) use of the suffix “phobia” which would be acceptable under Wolf’s principle.
I can count on one hand the number of Catholics I have met who understand the meaning of Immaculate Conception, as opposed to the hundreds (thousands?) of Catholics who have no idea what it means, convinced as they are by what the phrase sounds like. I have met zero non-Catholics who understand the meaning of the phrase, and who (like the overwhelming number of Catholics) do not even know whose conception it describes.
Theological phrases are not the same as words in common use, but why not just substitute the common understanding for the meaning? Are some meanings worth defending regardless of popular usage?
The word “marriage” has a more recent usage, but it solely reflected a theological concept of millennia. The government changed that meaning not to enhance the lives of a single human being, all of whom always had the power of commitment to another human being regardless of the word used. The government was destroying the theological meaning of the word to advance its destructive goals.

Great points, and a great example. The “immaculate conception” does indeed serve as an excellent example which takes a “quantum leap” in changed meaning from intended to unintended, when applied to the common distortion.
Similarly to “beg the question” being “fixable” as “beg the original question”, one could qualify both meanings, and talk of “Mary’s immaculate conception” (vs. that of Christ, even though the latter is something else, really) as a way to recover from the error, but I’m not sure that would actually work, as many (including many “barely” Catholics) would surely say WTF at the idea of Mary needing any prep for her role, if they got that far in any new understanding.

I never learned the catechism when i was young. only later, when i chose to on my own…and it’s been a while. please correct me if i’m wrong. All of us are born with Original Sin. Mary was immaculately conceived so that she did not have Original Sin and so neither did her child-Jesus.

I believe that that would be contrary to Scripture, in my understanding. Everyone after The Fall was born in Original Sin EXCEPT Jesus. He was w/out Original Sin Because of Who His FATHER is, Not his Mother. Mary was blessed to be the Mother of Our Lord, but she was “conceived in sin” like Every Other Human since Adam & Eve except for her son, The Son of God & Son of Man.
Interesting as I just read the above to my husband, to get his feedback & it sparked a Very Wide Ranging discussion about Who Christ Is & where the line between His “fully God” & “fully man” aspects of His Being might lie. Hubby took the view that Christ “crucified the flesh” in that He overcame His Own fleshly nature. I took the perspective that Christ’s crucifixion was the Perfect Blood Sacrifice, “the Lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world”. This being that God, having established an impossible standard for humans to meet, offered Himself as the full payment for All sin for All time.
I don’t know that if you break it down whether Michael ultimately believes that Jesus was “fully man” which included at least the possibility of a “sin nature” in “the flesh” & that I look at it slightly differently. We discussed Jesus’ battles with Satan in the wilderness where He was tested. We agreed that He wasn’t actually Tempted because in Scripture it says that God cannot be Tempted. However clearly Christ battled Satan & provides a model for us in crucifying the flesh.
I honestly believe it is an error to attribute Christ’s sinless nature to His maternity. His sinless nature comes from God the Father. Jesus is the God Man, a deep mystery through the ages. Mary was NOT sinless & her conception and birth was a natural occurrence, though clearly overseen by God, as are All conceptions. She is the Mother of Our Lord, so worthy of honor. She Was Not Sinless so she is NOT the co-redeemer (redemptrix) with Christ. These views are extra-Biblical & I believe in error.
No offence is meant here, for I am expressing my understanding & am open to Correction that is solidly Scripturally based on any of these points.

Interesting argument presented. I have only one comment to offer with regards to if Jesus was tempted or could be. Matthew chapter 4 definitely states that Jesus was tempted by the devil. Scripture also says in Hebrews 4:15 that Jesus was tempted in ways familiar to all humanity. However, James 1:13 says that God cannot be tempted by evil. It leaves the reader with something of an interpretive problem. If Jesus was tempted does that mean he is not God? Does the dual nature of Jesus, his divine/human aspect impact how we should resolve the dilemma? I don’t propose how you should adjudicate the question. It seems that your husband and you are well equipped to work through the problem.
I believe the answer to this is yes.

So an insight I had in contemplating this situation is that it is clear that The Devil, or Satan was functioning as a Tempter to Jesus, attempting to trip Him up. However Jesus was not “tempted” in the meaning that James states, “each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed”. He was present for the torments inflicted by the Enemy but He was in no way enticed, even in His weakened physical state of 40 days of fasting. That this wilderness experience appears to immediately precede His earthly ministry is telling.
The truth of this passage also stands out: Heb 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” The Enemy attempted to entice Jesus with all kinds of earthly sins but Jesus never succumbed, for He is God so possesses no “evil desire” so cannot be “enticed”.
To my way of thinking it is a distinction with a difference so that the James passage is not actually in conflict with all the renderings of Jesus undergoing the Enemy’s attempts to tempt Him to sin…

So an insight I had in contemplating this situation is that it is clear that The Devil, or Satan was functioning as a Tempter to Jesus, attempting to trip Him up. However Jesus was not “tempted” in the meaning that James states, “each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed”. He was present for the torments inflicted by the Enemy but He was in no way enticed, even in His weakened physical state of 40 days of fasting. That this wilderness experience appears to immediately precede His earthly ministry is telling.
The truth of this passage also stands out: Heb 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” The Enemy attempted to entice Jesus with all kinds of earthly sins but Jesus never succumbed, for He is God so possesses no “evil desire” so cannot be “enticed”.
To my way of thinking it is a distinction with a difference so that the James passage is not actually in conflict with all the renderings of Jesus undergoing the Enemy’s attempts to tempt Him to sin…

In other words marriage has a bunch of theological meanings…and legal meanings. And we haven’t been able to separate the two; so those people with the power of commitment (but it’s not a marriage) don’t get the legal benefits. There is in some places something called a civil union, and that could work but then the law considers it different from a marriage anyway. If instead, it were set up so that all marriages (solely a church thing) were also civil unions, but not all civil unions were marriages, the law could concern itself with civil unions, the church could concern itself with marriages, and gays would likely be happy with civil unions most of the time. (There’s always be some dickweed who insists other people conform their ideology or theology to his wishes, but that’s not a gay thing, that’s a dickweed thing.)

With all that accountability, how did our government reach a point where:
An agency founded to promote clean air and water (EPA) is addressing bovine flatulence?
An organization created to stamp out malaria by spraying mosquitoes (CDC) has dictated an eviction moratorium and is promoting gun control?
A law enforcement bureau (FBI) is instigating crimes to solve them?

Those things and more are happening because our government has managed to break our systems of accountability, allowing radicals and miscreants to run wild. Whistleblowers are no longer protected by the DoJ. Criminal referrals from IGs are not prosecuted by the DoJ (e.g., Lois Lerner and Andrew McCabe). Congressional oversight is powerless without DoJ enforcement. (When Congress referred Eric Holder for prosecution, Attorney General Eric Holder declined to prosecute Eric Holder.) Political oversight of the bureaucracy fails when the swamp has more power than the elected leadership — as Chuck Schumer warned that it does. Voter oversight is undercut by DoJ collaboration with the media to promote propaganda and filing lawsuits against states to prevent fraud-proofing our election processes.
When Eric Holder declared himself Barack Obama’s “wingman,” he effectively redirected the DoJ from “equal justice under law,” to “guarding the six” of its political benefactors. The resulting corruption at the DoJ has undermined the systems of accountability throughout our government. Problems can be detected, but they are rarely corrected. Nobody serving the bureaucracy suffers the consequences of breaking the law.
Countless essays have examined the forces working to corrupt our government:
The communist march through our institutions,
Ill-advised social justice pursuits,
Mission creep in response to emerging global conditions, and

But those corrupting influences were only effective because the systems of accountability no longer keep our ship on state on its intended heading. The federal government cannot be trusted to correct itself. Its solution to every issue is more government — rarely disciplinary action. When our national security apparatus failed us in the days before 9/11, nobody was fired for missing the clues. The federal government addressed the problem by creating the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and massively expanding the power of government. Yet now, we’re funding and equipping terrorist organizations and military-aged males on the terrorist watchlist are crossing our border daily — with permission.
The DHS didn’t improve our national security because it, like other departments, isn’t held accountable for serving us rather than the bureaucracy. Violations of the public trust — and even the law — are easily detected, but the guilty rarely face consequences. Federal accountability is broken. An intervention is desperately needed.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

The White House is once again walking back statements and actually changing the official transcript of the speech FJB gave at the NAACP dinner. This is after his horrific commencement speech at Morehouse College in which he told black graduates that “Democracy” has been terrible for Black Americans. Quite frankly, his speech at Moorehouse was spot on. “Their Democracy” has been terrible for ALL Americans. It’s time to get away from “their democracy” and back to our Constitutional Republic.

World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab steps back from executive post
World Economic Forum founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab will be stepping back from his role running the global gathering since he founded it in 1971.
Schwab announced his intentions in an email to staff on Tuesday that was shared with Semafor by a person connected to the organization.
He will be stepping down as executive chairman and transitioning to a role as non-executive chairman, he said, adding the change in his role is pending approval by the Swiss government.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Forum said that the organization is “transforming from a convening platform to the leading global institution for public-private cooperation.” The Forum’s governance structure is set to change as a result of that evolution, the spokesperson said, and Schwab “will transition from Executive Chairman to Chairman of the Board of Trustees” by January 2025.
Schwab has not named his successor, but said that over the last year, the group’s executive board, “under the leadership of President Børge Brende, has taken full executive responsibility.”
Brende is a former Norwegian conservative leader.

Tones? WTF? He’s throwing out a lot of phrases that have meanings…when they’re properly used (like “angle of incidence”) but they just don’t mean anything here.
He talks about repeatedly dividing light by two…and get to sound…which at least half-assedly might mean something but he’s very sloppy in his terminology. He was just talking about wavelength and you certainly don’t want to keep dividing THAT by 2; you then end up with higher and higher frequencies and you want to go lower and lower. Of course maybe he knows this and just can’t explain it well. Take your frequencies and divide over and over again, the 500 THz (trillions of cycles per second) of yellow light (usually given as 600 nm) will eventually get down to something in our audible range of 20-20,000 Hz. But then…it will still be electromagnetic radiation (very low frequency radio) and not sound (which is pressure waves in air).
So making allowances for not knowing the words to go with the concepts, he’s making *some* sense here. Or, he doesn’t know what he’s trying to say at all, and just coincidence. I don’t know; I’d have to talk with him and get him to slow down and figure out what he thinks the words mean.
It’s like hearing someone talking about the thingamabobs in his car, and valves, and you finally start to suspect he’s talking about tires, but for some reason isn’t using the word “tire”. He might be saying something reasonably intelligent just not in a way you understand. Or…he might not actually be talking about tires, you’re just framing it that way trying to make some sense of what he’s saying.
What I can’t see is how any of that connects to the periodic table, unless he’s thinking of spectral emission lines, but they don’t relate to each other like he’s saying.
As to periodic tables, there are many many ways you can lay things out, everything from just a simple list (boring) to something like he shows. We use the one we usually see because it has the most utility for showing relationships between elements (something his semicircles really don’t do; they show adjacent elements but don’t really give you the vertical relationships, which are largely what led to the table in the first place.

Even our “square” table can sometimes be extended by pulling those bottom two footnote rows back into the main table, which is where they truly belong. That makes it much wider and the usual format fits nicely on a sheet of paper. It’s sort of like the way Alaska and Hawaii are put down in the corner. You know that’s not where they really are (and hopefully remember they’re not to the same scale) but if you showed them properly you’d have a map with a lot of ocean and Canada on it too.
Some of the periodic table info Might be connected to material that this video discusses. Within the video the presenter discusses a new way of looking at protons & neutrons & how they are each made up of 1000+ (he gives Exact numbers, one digit apart for P’s & N’s) particles & he is focusing more on light & it’s properties as a particle vs a wave & the fact that it accelerates & decelerates.
I would love to get your thoughts on this info for it’s above my paygrade, but quite intriguing. A number of the commenters at youtube refer to the guys in the above video, iirc, so there is likely some type of correlation/connection of this material.

Too long…I did start on it yesterday .
But current theory says protons and neutrons each have three quarks in them (not thousands), the difference is in the mix of quarks. A proton will have two up quarks and a down quark, a neutron will have one up quark and two down quarks. Downs are slightly more massive than ups.
An up quark has a +2/3 electric charge, a down quark has -1/3. If you do the arithmetic it turns out a proton has +1 charge total and the neutron has 0 charge total.
This is something physicists are fairly confident of; their data is consistent with it being true.
His explanation is fascinating & he uses multiple illustrations from various sources, including Fermi-Lab, & one of those colliders, CERN, I think, to explain some of it.
I usually don’t watch such long videos either, fwiw. I can’t do justice to his theories for I only partially understood but the part w/ 2 dark/black & 2 light/white “particles” where they appeared like squares but were 4 balls in a 2X2 2-D square (I wonder if they might Really be a 2X2X2 3-D cube actually?) was interesting & these images showed in the pictures he was discussing (all on his computer screen in the video). I think his views are unconventional but apparently Might be supported by some of the existing evidence, fwiw…
It sounds like Some of his theories are explaining observable phenomena that has thus far eluded comprehensive explanation.
Well he’s showing that picture…but never adequately explains what it’s a picture OF, at least not as of 6:22. I literally have no idea what he’s trying to say here, because he has set no context.

He kept talking about venturis which are an aerodynamic concept.
Ok, that might be the term, but what he kept referencing was how images of light in motion acted & it seemed that the “venturis” was a pinch point for the light. But because he was also referencing particles the aerodynamic part could actually be correct. I think he was trying to say that there is actually substance to light & aspects of its behavior can be observed & certain theories, like what he promotes, explain some of this observed phenomena in a way that more typical scientific theories do not.
He could be some type of crank or he could actually have stumbled onto something that “captured” science doesn’t want to acknowledge or address. I’m too ignorant to evaluate, plus I enjoy a tin foil hat on occasion, about the only kind of hat I’ll choose to wear 😉 😉

I just did, and parts of this are just fricking ridiculous. Other parts are confusing, though that could just be bad writing. He seems to use the term nucleus interchangably with proton or neutron…but I can’t be sure that I’m just not understanding it yet.
But this is rather bad:
First he is talking about muon neutrinos. Then he talks about muons. Very different animals. NEITHER particle participates in the strong nuclear force. (Also, a muon has a mass far too big for there to be hundreds of them inside a proton…and it’s unstable.)
And there’s no way that muons are dark matter, and there’s no way that whatever dark matter is, it’s inside protons. We think there is dark matter because all of the visible matter in the universe (protons and neutrons, mostly by mass, these make up “ordinary” matter) isn’t enough to account for a lot of gravitation effects we see “out there”, and yet he’s trying to say the dark matter is part of ordinary matter. If dark matter were actually a part of a proton, the proton would have to be six or seven times heavier than it actually is, and there’d never have been any mystery over dark matter at all.

I had to keep scrolling down the page to look at the images of the different particles. It would help if he would “equate” his terminology w/ the traditional terms.
I Think he is saying that the muons are positively charged particles at the core & possibly in alternating layers in levels of the “eggshell” (he has 2 versions of the proton construction) that are surrounded by an “electron” shell.
If the core is a “neutron” then the “muons” & “electrons” have the same number, but if it’s a “proton” then there is one more “muon” than there are “electrons”.
Now I might (probably am) misunderstanding it but I think this “dense ball of particles” (my description) is confusing unless the typical atomic model also describes “electrons” at the core/nucleus of an atom.
Chemistry is a Long Time ago for me but I thought that the core/nucleus of the atom was made up only of protons & neutrons with electrons orbiting in various “shell” patterns, with Hydrogen w/ the most basic spherical shell.
If my understanding is correct then by him using the term “electron” for the negatively charged “micro-particles” (my term again) in his model at/surrounding the core of a proton or neutron this adds to significant confusion.
I believe he said that the “electron” has almost no mass & the mass is mostly in the “muon”. If so then he could actually be proposing that protons & neutrons are made up of electrons & muons bound together in rough spheres w/ the “typically described electrons” of standard chemistry/physics (as in Not his Dipole Theory) orbiting around these positively & negatively charged particle clusters.
I guess that Part of the Bottom Line of his theory is that Protons & Neutrons are not the smallest parts of the atom but are each made of much smaller parts, “All Protons are odd-numbered dipoles of approximately 1823 dipoles and Neutrons are even numbers of dipoles of about 1824.”
Perhaps the “dipole” is just a term of art for these much smaller muon/electron combo components, as in 2 (magnetic?) poles, a positive & a negative charge joined together so that the charges cancel each other out.
The problem is:
the muon is a negatively charged particle; he says its positively charged. The negative charge was known pretty much the instant muons were discovered; it would have been one of the characteristics of the cloud chamber track.
It’s unstable; it breaks down in two millionths of a second, via the weak interaction. It would really suck if protons and neutrons blew up in less than second because their constituents did.
The muon doesn’t participate in the strong interaction; it’s a lepton.
Neutrions don’t participate in the strong interaction either; if they did they wouldn’t be so ballbustingly hard to detect. He once talks about muon neutrinos, the rest of the time he talks about muons.
The muon’s mass is about two hundred of these units he seems to think protons and neutrons are made out of (they are approximately the mass of an electron; his counts are very close to the proton/electron mass ratio). So there can’t be huge numbers of them inside a proton.
This is all pretty well established.
Yet I am supposed to believe it’s responsible for the strong force, is the explanation for dark matter, and is part of a proton?
Either he’s making something else up and calling it a muon (in which case he should say so) or he’s simply throwing out impressive-sounding words he doesn’t understand the definition to.
Do you have a layperson caliber source that explains leptons & the strong & weak forces? I’m butting up against my ignorance here obviously.

Depending on how far back you want to go, historically, 9 (discovery of the electron), 13, 17, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 28. Some of the other ones have titles concerning quantum stuff and wouldn’t hurt either. Others have to do with astronomy.

Actually a dipole is a standard term. But you need a positive and a negative end on an electric dipole and muons and electrons are both negative. But I’m not sure he’s using it right; he’s saying a proton is one less diple than a neutron, but subtracting a dipole doesn’t change the charge because the total charge of a dipole is zero (what makes it a dipole is there’s some distance between the positive and negative parts).
[Every magnet is a dipole, a magnetic one; there’s a north and south pole separated from each other by some distance.]
If there are 1823 muon-electron pairs inside a proton, somehow…well, a muon is about 200 times the mass of an electron. So the proton would come in at 1824×201 or 364,800 times the mass of the electron. Unfortunately the correct number is 1836.
Really this is making no dang sense to me.
So his theories, & terms he’s using, appear to be Way Outside the “norms” which adds to the confusion.

All of the masses I mention, as well as the proton/electron mass *ratio*, are pretty solid. Some of that stuff goes back to at least 1920.

Wow…every one of those is totally off kilter. He has electrons being light (no) and heat (which I figure he means infrared, and no), and being stuck to muons. His muons have no resemblance to muons. Neutrinos definitely aren’t light in motion, that would make them electromagnetic in nature and…well, they don’t have anything to do with the electromagnetic force either.

I think the fundamental problem is that physics took a turn towards describing things using terms that already had meaning in English — like quarks being “up, down, or strange” or having “spin”, and this was taken as a reason to describe random things in random ways, as if language had no meaning at all.

TY Cthulhu. You may be right, it could be a big rabbit hole to nowhere. It could also be (or aspects of it) dissident “science” that has Some merit but is presented, at least in that video, in a rather confusing manner. I found the info at the website & his “white paper” relatively easy to understand, but then I don’t have the well-established “facts” of this arena in my head like Steve & you might, so it’s harder for me to see how much “noise” it actually could represent.
The positive/negative “muon”/”electron” dipole thing, at least as far as protons & neutrons went, made some sense to me. Because of the way like repels like the idea of a closely packed nucleus of just positively charged & neutral/no charge particles was hard to believe. I’ve heard it said that Jesus provides the force that stops atoms from blowing apart as the positive charges at the nucleus would otherwise repel each other. His theory appears to suggest a mechanism, functional in the natural world, that would allow this to happen…
His “explanation”/postulate that protons & neutrons are both made of positively & negatively charged subcomponents provides a semi-comprehensible framework for how such larger components (P & N) might stay in close proximity. If I understand it, he’s saying that the strong positive “muon” force is coated with a weaker negative electron force (his 2 structures of protons at the website). That at least would mean that a bunch of protons aren’t automatically repelling each other since their positive & negative sub-components are creating some level of “magnetic” force allowing them to be more closely associated in the nucleus.
Here’s the thing — there are soft spots on the current model where you can push your thumb in and leave a dent. And, certainly, there is room for a Great Leap Forward in human understanding.
But this guy keeps using established terms in weird ways. It’s like he was saying that you add shortening to your recipe in order to make the biscuits rise, and that a cup of biscuit flour can contain two cups of white flour and one cup of black flour.
Not everyone is as comfortable with dipoles and muons as a cook might be with biscuit components, but there comes a certain point where the words merely sow confusion — and great leaps forward seldom start by increasing confusion.

There’s a fairly “meaty” Youtube channel where the claim is made that the actual mistake is that we essentially measure round-trip time for light, but assume it traveled at the same speed in both directions…apparently if you drop that assumption you can have absolute space again.
I actually stumbled on his site trying to find out more of the mathematics behind general relativity. So if this guy is a crank, he’s a high quality one.

Yeah there’s stuff where he’s half right, talking about lithium and flourine. He calls them “mates”; a chemist would say they have opposite valiences and will form molecules with one of each atom. He then claims that if you react lithium with anything else then introduce flourine it will grab the lithium, which is true. What he doesn’t say is flourine will do that to ANYTHING, not just lithium.
Oh well I might as well finish it, only 21 seconds to go. Beryllium and oxygen? Yeah they form BeO, but oxygen sure as heck won’t shove fluorine aside because beryllium is somehow its mate.
Oh, if you want to break up water, throw in some beryllium.

It’s plainly obvious to all that they’re not going to live as well as their parents. It’s no longer just an illusion (leaving an established household of people who have been in the workforce for 20 years and can therefore afford things that aren’t craptastic, then having to live on entry level pay); they’re unable to make ends meet.

I knew someone back in ’16 who REALLY hated the slogan “Make America Great Again.”
She was adamant that America was still great. And she had immigrated from a shithole so she had one basis for comparison. US vastly better than Shithole.
The problem is that she wasn’t accounting for the people who were comparing America, 2016, to America, 1990 (or whenever). They (we) saw a decline in progress. Still the greatest country on earth, but not as great as it once was.
That makes me think of the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile, iirc. People were so thrilled to have their Temple restored but the elders remembered the former glories to which the newly constructed replacement Temple couldn’t compare, & so they wept in sorrow for what had been lost, never to be retrieved again…
Being grateful in all circumstances is a gift.
