Wolf, that’s partly why I enjoyed her as a commentator – her rich, deep voice. Plus she was so knowledgable about the players and so enthusiastic about her sport.
A quick health update.
Recently, things were going really well. I had made a small gamble in change of treatment, that paid off hugely. It was, as you might guess, AWAY from Rockefeller medicine. The results were fantastic, and made a huge improvement in my baseline health, which was especially fortunate, being prior to another planned treatment.
THAT planned treatment worked out really well, despite several risks. It was a gamble, and it seems to be paying off. However, there ARE some “speed bumps” in the aftermath. Recovery is needed. Much healing was fast, but complete healing can take several weeks – perhaps a month or more.
Your continued prayers are helpful, and deeply appreciated. You may see me miss a day or two – maybe more. Don’t worry – I’m just putting health first.
There are a lot of things I would like to do here – articles I’d like to write – investigations I’d like to begin – but I have to be honest with myself – I just don’t have the time and the health to do it. I need to use every opportunity to keep myself healthy, so that I can stay functional and keep the site running. That’s the bottom line goal.
So say a prayer for me, every once in a while. And I will pray for you, and for your friends and loved ones.

I’m doing great, Wolf. I really appreciate the prayers and know that they’ve made a difference. I’m pretty much back to normal. I really think the cancer is gone. We’ll see how it looks when I have my next mammogram. My doctors seem to be shocked that I’m 71 and am doing so well and don’t have any comorbidities. Probably because I often go for years without seeing a doctor. I’ve had more appointments this past year than I think I had in the previous 10.
I’ve been spending more time lately taking care of things with my mom. She’s 93 and in a wheelchair now. I’m trying to help out as much as possible so my brother doesn’t have it all on his shoulders. So if I don’t comment as much, it’s not because I’m having health issues. It’s because I have some other issues I need to take care of. But I’m always here in spirit.
You are an inspiration to us all.

What this looks like to little ole not-very-legally-educated me is a case that wasn’t well thought out before being run up to the Supremes. So they slapped it down. But that doesn’t mean what people think. It means the Court wants a better case to rule on.
Sometimes I think the dissents are written to: number one, give us hope; number two, to instruct the lawyers writing the next case.

Your closing paragraph is EXACTLY correct. Those dissents might well agree with a large portion of the opinion but disclosing that would add superfluous info and would encourage gossip.
If you read articles about the legal history of Thomas [for example], you’ll see that his dissents ended up being today’s majority opinions. Since the Court is at the mercy of the lawyers who bring cases up to it, it takes a long time for it to reach proper decisions.

Over the last few days, I’ve been doing a major IT replumbing project. It was necessary — I had daisy-chained power strips and snarls of network cable in inaccessible dusty recesses that couldn’t be traced. And, of course, piles of hardware that I’d expected to use just as soon as I could figure out where to plug it in. Heck, I have co-ax gizmos from when we originally rewired the house when we bought it.
I got a bit of a boost a few days ago when I got some servers going, but today is the first day that I can say things are really coming together.
Some of the kludges date back to my cybersecurity incident in 2015. I had 15 Windows computers on my home network — some with client data — when I had a keylogger dropped on my daily driver. I mothballed all 15 and spent thousands of dollars to bootstrap onto Linux from nothing. I’m looking forward to recovering a lot of data from The Before Time.
One of the inevitable side-effects of writhing around on the ground disentangling power and network cords tucked against the walls is that I stink. Bad. And I’m covered with dust.
The Fiancee tends to change the sheets anyway on Thursdays, so I’m just going to ignore it for the moment and deal with it tomorrow.
Might as well give her good reason for her usual Thursday reset.

Russia Officially Declares USA A Party To The War
There was a flight of ATACMS missiles toward Russian Crimea. Most of them were shot down, but one ended up exploding over a beach filled with non-military people. It had a Cluster Munition warhead, so dropped a bunch of bomblets on the beach. Something like 100 or so were injured, and a few killed, including children.
These missiles are targeted using US Intelligence assets (satellites, drones, etc.) and are provided by the USA, along with some degree of training in how to operate them. (Push red button when told?)
Russia has issued the formal diplomatic language that moves the USA from just an arms supplier to “party to the war” and has said some kind of retaliation will follow. Exact form TBD.
So, OK, as far as Russia is concerned, it is now free to attack the USA and USA Assets. One can only hope that Putin continues to exercise the extraordinary restraint he has so far demonstrated.
While “party to the conflict” falls a little bit short of “declaration of war”, the USA has not officially declared a war in decades, yet has killed a vast number in combat. So we set the precedent…

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.

Sad day today. In the first of three – Visitation, Celebration of Life, and a Funeral Mass – in three successive days, I went to pay my respects to old friends – twins I’ve known FOREVER – as one of their younger sisters did not wake up Sunday morning. She was 49. I assume the shots were involved. Anyway, to compound the tragedy, the day before was one of my friends’ (we did summer camp and high school together) daughter’s bridal shower. That afternoon was to be the deceased’s soon to be daughter-in-law’s bridal shower.
THIS is what they did to us. THIS. It’s not just people dying alone. It’s destroying the joy that should be in life.
Tomorrow evening, we say good-bye to a beloved cousin who dropped dead cutting his grass. Saturday – and this one was expected and due to old age – funeral for the mom of someone else I know.
I’m afraid this is going to turn into the norm in the next year or so.

Three weeks ago a 59 year old reasonably healthy school librarian acquaintance fell severely ill after what she thought was a sinus infection. Rushed into ICU, diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. Went into a coma, heart weakened. Transferred to a nursing facility and three days later died without waking up.
She believed the lies about the jabs like most public school teachers and administrators. We saw her getting sick more often over the last couple of years. Fortunately she believed in Jesus. Jabs claimed another, but it will never appear on a death certificate.

I agree. Trump was firm but polite to both JB and the moderators. I might have missed it, but I didn’t see him “attack” the moderators, and limited his replies to the issues and to correcting JB’s lies.
If this is the case, then they propped JB up enough to accomplish that. I don’t know what their strategy is, but it would have looked really bad for JB to flip out on stage tonight.
