God Rejoices
Zephaniah 3:17 includes an interesting description of God rejoicing over people: “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
God’s joy parallels the singing of His people in Jerusalem. “Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion!” (verse 14). This unit of poetry begins with the people of Jerusalem singing praise to God and ends with God’s joy over His people. God rejoices with His people, and He expresses joy when His people praise Him.
The question then is, why is God so joyful? This passage of Zephaniah speaks of a future time when God has ended His judgment upon Israel. All of their enemies have been destroyed, and Israel is entering a time of safety and blessing (verses 8, 15, 19). Zephaniah is speaking of the future millennial kingdom when the Messiah (Jesus) will reign with His people in Jerusalem (Isaiah 9:7; Revelation 20:1–6).
The word picture in Zephaniah 3:17 is full of emotion. God the Father is the One who holds His daughter Jerusalem and rejoices in her presence. Just as a loving parent cradles a child and sings out of love, so God’s joy over His people is born of His great love. After a time of hardship, our loving Lord dries His people’s tears, comforts their hearts, and welcomes them to a new world.
Finally, Jesus also taught in the New Testament that “there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10). It’s clear there is rejoicing in God’s presence when those who are lost repent and are made right with God (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:16).
It’s a glorious Sunday in the Puget Sound area.

Pgroup, We would have been very happy to take some of that rain off your hands. It has been in the high 90s all week and my grass is now crispy critter.
WORSE the FIRE ANTS ran out of food and are showing up in the trucks and every where else! I put down feed in my stalls and went to get a pony, only to find the ants had swarmed the feed bowl. Heck I was carrying a bucket with feed measured out, put it down, went to get a pony out of a paddock. He was eagerly waiting to be haltered and then fed. 5 minutes later the bucket had been swarmed by the ants. I have been bitten head to toe and so have my poor ponies.
The last few days has been place in stalls for worming and foot care and ready the fallow paddocks for the move to new paddocks…
Luckily Walgreens has Aloe Vera Spray with vitamin E so I can treat the bare spots where the poor animals have rubbed the hair off. Food Lion has been out of fresh aloe and I do not want to cut up my house plant.
I have never seen a problem like this before.
Do they react to diatomaceous earth?
Alternatively, how do they like the “3 parts sugar, one part borax, damp until sludgy” recipe?
I use borax around the doors. I tried the “3 parts sugar, one part borax” last year and they avoided it…. DARN IT!
They might be hungrier this year.
I think I will stick to the Dawn soap method since that seems to work very well. And as I said we do have stuff that works around the base of the house.
When we had it built I back filled the foundation with GRAVEL and not soil so we can use a high powered killer around the base. I also had a drain put in that goes to an underground dry well a bit down hill from the house.
I have the diatomaceous earth. I just need a flour sifter to spread it. (On the list for Monday’s shopping) It is going around the garden area.
We also have an ant bait for around the house that works very well.
The other option is Dawn dish soap. It seemed to work very well on the one BIG mound I tried it on.

Current project is to get all the ponies moved to back paddocks. Finish repairs/upgrades on Front paddocks, mow, and drag the paddocks AND THEN treat the ant mounds.
Having BOTH of my riding lawn mowers break down has not helped in getting my projects done.

Actually, I met a guy at the fuel station coming home from a gig yesterday. He had a trailer full of old lawn tractors so I struck up a conversation. He repairs them! so I got his number.
We just do not have the thousands to put into buying new, esp when they are CHINESE SCHIFF!

Yep..ours went kaput too, it was so old couldn’t be fixed. That left 2 push mowers. One was broken so I sent it to repair and will use the bigger one for mini bush grinding ( leaves,limbs, etc) Whew the new ones are so pricey now. No budget for that sadly

It keeps us young. Hubby still does a lot as long as he does not have to stand motionless without something to lean on.
We did break down and purchase a new (small) diesel tractor. And we also have a very old tractor that we hitched a bush hog to. Since the old tractor does not have a bucket, that bush hog is NOT going to get taken off! I am not going thru trying to get that piece of equipment back on it again!
I just want the lawn tractor for mowing around the edges & under the fence wire. Doing it with a push mower, given all the ant mounds is a real trial.
For some reason fire ants LOVE electricity so you find them IN the solar fence chargers….
We are lucky since we have people who do not believe the ‘too old to fix’ idea.

I will be totally honest – the eyes of whoever was there, looked weirdly off and deep-set under taught skin, and there was part of me doubting it was the real Biden. However, I realize that TV cosmetologists slather these guys with makeup, and old men get very hollow and different-looking eyes, so I was able to dismiss those thoughts – barely. Even the amount of eye-liner that they put on J.D. Vance looks damn near ancient Egyptian, and I find it a bit perverse against his otherwise macho appearance.
All that said, the man we saw was very much in a direct linear progression downward as we have been watching Biden for the last 16 years. Biden was already laughably incapable and early senile in 2007 – I remember calling him “Obama’s insurance policy” from the beginning. People asked if Obama was keeping him in 2012 for exactly that reason, as it was even more obvious that Biden was unfit. People doubted his ability to make criminal plans in 2016 – clearly he was still capable of evil – but he seemed out of it through most of Trump’s term, to the point that his entry in 2020 seemed like a joke.
Four years of decline at the same rate. And here we are.

I have found no evidence that Jill knew Biden before 1972. However, Bill claims that Jill and Biden began an affair after their meeting in 1972, and that the affair caused the breakup in 1974 when he learned about it.

I did so much vacuuming on Saturday that I had to empty the Dyson twice. I’m consolidating from my big build days during the last week — I currently have 26T of disk space online and available (if not exactly convenient) in my home network, and can access the data on the hard drives that got pulled when my stuff got compromised in 2015 (one at a time). I have stuff available to add another 18T and another hard disk read station, except I need to find a particular thumbdrive.

I think he is just how he appeared….an older, clever adult with the social skills of a pre-teen. The way he melted-down when challenged was not structured and controlled the way any halfway-competent agency would allow.

Some notes on organization……
When I was a kid (IIRC, 4th grade), I was industriously making sailboats to float in my backyard mud puddle. I would take little pieces of scrap wood and nail them together. My father worked for the City of Los Angeles and would get things from their surplus auctions, so I made some of my sailboats on the top of an executive desk that he had stashed in the garage, leaving some interesting nail holes.
This resulted in a tendency to strictly define the scope of what I was doing. In its current incarnation, I tend to throw all the pieces and tools of a thing into a “project box”. I tend to use the trays that hold six or 12-packs of beverages in cases, because they are constructed properly — project boxes that leak parts are not good.
The Fiancee had a pair of +2 reading glasses come apart (drop a lens) and was looking to superglue them back together because the screw seemed nonstandard. First thing was get a project box. Second was put aluminum foil for a workplace in the project box and outfit it with a tube of superglue and toothpicks. We also decided that a small clamp might work to hold the glasses while the glue set, and she needed to wear gloves. She then went off to attempt the project.
I was informed that the execution resulted in superglue on the lens, so all the dead soldiers were rolled-up in the aluminum foil and discarded, while the box, clamp, extra superglue, and extra toothpicks were returned to stock. Future projects of the sort would involve taping over the lens. That’s the way things should go.
OTOH, a substantial amount of my projects end up missing a crucial piece or tool and can be suspended for an indefinite time. I was fortunate enough to encounter a pizza place having an out-of-business sale and picked up a bunch of pizza holders — the kind that suspend a pie over a table (ask if you’ve never seen one and I’ll dig up a pic). These are GREAT for stacking partially-loaded project boxes without them going wandering, and have been a great productivity aid.

Try bending it and an insulator cover around a post. Once you have it ‘sort of’ bent around the post you either find you forgot to slip the 2 clamps on… Go back to step one… or you twist the end of the wire around the standing part.
We have been putting in a lot of H braces so we can up grade to high tensile. Much of my fencing is now 25 to 30 years old and has to be replaced.

They are a MUST. We tried other options like concrete plus lag screws with an ‘outrigger’ to prevent the post from leaning in the direction of the tension. Nice idea but it doesn’t really work well.

The high tensile electrical is by FAR harder to work with than double strand smooth wire.

I have 8 strand high tensile and they just DIVE thru it. With cows you can go 3 or 4 strand and horses as little as 2. Ponies, the little buggers need 4 strands.
Well I have four strands of smooth wire with stays. That plus one line of 8000V goodness ought to get the message across. And I just had a very productive couple of hours after the rainstorm but before ducking fark out. Basically, I have to wire across two gates, run a line out to the fence protecting a tree and power that…and it’s done.

I see someone else has found a good use for those nice flat trays canned drinks come in. I also save the black/blue what ever polystyrene trays that produce or meat sometimes comes in. Only problem is the tray MELTS in the heat around here!
Given the cost of totes these days ($10 & up) I save containers. I have a lot of pony project stuff that gets placed in containers and stored on book shelves.
Elmer’s glue and four of those cardboard trays they sell one liter bottles in, and I can make up a dandy tote that will hold 12 one liter bottles (without the chance of them falling over and wrecking the tray) or other things.
What does that look like?
It ends up being a box tall enough to hold…all the way up…12 one liter bottles (the generic Walmart ones). There are some gaps in the bottom corners because the “tray” that serves as the bottom isn’t quite a rectangle (it has corners cut off). But it’s good for, e.g., carrying larger items like groceries.
For carrying groceries in the back of the pick-up, I like the veggie bins I pick up for free at the Flea Market (Twice the length of a milk crate) The are built to stack too. 😍
To get from the truck to the front steps I love my Gorilla cart from Tractor Supply. It will carry 800 pounds.

Those stairs are new. Wider, to allow Jill to descend beside him, each step depth is wider too. Guess they bought new ones to show how nimble he still is.

Hubby has trouble with the first step on the side porch because the gravel has settled and it has a 3 inches taller rise compared to the other steps.

There are pavers and pavers and pavers and pavers, as you probably know. We’ve used a bunch of them around our house.
One of the fun ones were roughly 12″ squares, available locally in either tan or grey (at a store now bankrupt and closed). We had pathways that were 2-3 pavers striped across that led into resting places that were checkerboarded. They were generally just set in an inch of sand and held up pretty well — except for one area where a fig tree messed with them.

My Congress Critter here in Texas with the huge albedo effect was essentially spelling out the easiest path for the dems if they want to get Joe off the ticket and put someone else in without any fuss from the fifty states. That was that they had to declare him incompetent.
Not doing so would mean fuss from the fifty states and if what Bill says is true, they are measuring electability and funds which is not measuring Joe’s capacity to serve. The two are very different things.
If they continue this route they are going to have a problem getting Joe’s replacement on the ballot!
I’m sure they know. So expect this to change or States are going to have the right not to let a replacement on the ballot.
Next question… did Jill leave the room knowing Joe has to be declared legally incompetent? If not there could be more trouble ahead. 😁

A foreign or other entity donates to the Tides foundation. Tides donates to a small foundation who then uses the NAMES off the Democrat donor rolls to make more donations.

Yes and last time IIRC there was some issue. Some ballots had a notch or something that threw the count off.
The edges were sliced, invalidating the ballots. It was a brilliant scam that re-elected Macron.
Remember – in the last election, hundreds of thousands of French ballots were invalidated by having their edges sliced with box-cutters after they were boxed. Macron then won “surprisingly”.
This cheating by destroyed ballots was called out, but the news was quickly buried by the mass media, partly using American conservatives, who were fed a line to parrot – “See how the election can be counted in a single day?”
