And I’m back with 22.04.4 was up half the night as my DVD is for 20.04.2 it took forever.
You need to set up a thumbdrive with Ventoy.
I don’t even know what that means 🙄 it was after midnight when I got focal fossa working and I should have left off there but was on a roll and once it started upgrading I couldn’t leave it.
Normally you get a DVD of a distro and boot from it, and it will allow you to load that distro onto a computer.
Used to be, you could either get the DVD from a magazine (more difficult now that only one magazine still includes DVDs), or you can download an ISO file and burn it to DVD.
Ventoy allows you to prep a thumbdrive (preferably a fast 32G) and copy multiple ISO files onto it. Then you boot off the thumbdrive and choose which one to run as if it were a separate DVD. It would almost certainly have taken less time to have jammy on your Ventoy drive than boot focal off DVD and upgrade. Further info at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventoy

If memory serves, once you pick one, most distros offer you the choice of running it off the thumb drive or installing it. If you run off the thumb drive, it’s “read only” and anything you create goes “poof” when you shut it down.
Of course you could mount the other (no longer bootable) drive and write to it, and that will be saved, but that’s a next-level complication.
Once you boot a distro with Ventoy, it’s just like it had been booted off a DVD with a burned version of the ISO — so, yes, it’s read-only.
If you’re seriously deranged, you can get a larger thumbdrive and partition it, then make one partition Ventoy and load it with an ISO, then boot into it and use the Ventoy partition to load the distro into the other partition, then boot off of that and run it as your normal operating system.
Alternatively, you can load one of the rescue Linux distros from Ventoy, then use the tools therein to fix your original drive.

This was me, not WolfMoon. However I second all the praise you heap upon him (and hope he sees this).
This is why sodium is never found pure in nature. If exposed to dry air, it will form a white crust of sodium oxide (Na2O) within seconds; if exposed to water (or humid air), both sodium and sodium oxide will be burned by the water to form sodium hydroxid (NaOH), in a quite violent reaction if it’s water (rather than water vapor)–as seen in the video.
Note the guy was wearing a glove while holding the disk of sodium (which was white, because coated with sodium oxide). That’s because the pure sodium and sodium oxide would have burned his hand badly, reacting with the water we are mostly made of.
