So we (my Mom and I) would sit in the waiting room, listening to other children screaming, until it was my turn.
Big fan of going to the dentist, I was. Couldn’t go often enough 😂
He would use his forearm, putting it across my forehead, using the weight of his body to press me into the chair, so I couldn’t squirm or turn my head away, as he drilled and drilled and drilled some more, while I screamed.
No PTSD from that, no sir, I’m perfectly well-adjusted.

I’d venture to say the answer lies in the Christian definition of Salvation. I’m pretty sure God is not too selective as long as people are right thinking and worshiping him and God has provided a number of ways where by that might happen and some of them like those in the Bible, have stood the test of time better than others but all are subject to evil creeping in, to wit the Pope.
I’ve thought a lot about this.
I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone meets Jesus when they die.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13, verse 12:
“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”
In those times, a mirror was just a polished piece of metal, offering a blurred, imperfect image. Much like the veil of sin and error hiding truth from a lot of the world. But after we die, the veil is lifted and we can see clearly. Only then can we “know just as [we] also [are] known.”
And also, something must account for all the people who lived and died before Jesus came to the Earth. Remember, humans exist on a timeline, but God does not. For Him, everything that ever happened or will happen, is happening. This, for me, is the most important concept of my faith, and the hardest one to fathom. God exists OUTSIDE of time.
I’m sure I might get some blowback for this belief 🙂

What does God’s Word say?
We can find the church of God (Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 1:2), the church of the Firstborn (Hebrews 12:23), the church of Christ (Romans 16:16) and so on, sometimes adding a geographic identifier, e.g., the church of God which is at Corinth (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:1).
Does the word ‘Catholic’ appear anywhere in God’s Word? It does not, but we know and are sure that ‘Christian’ does (see Acts 11:26 above, cf. Acts 26:28, 1 Peter 4:16).
If Christ is our King, why not refer to ourselves in the same manner as we are given example in His Word?
How is it that we seem so often to find ourselves fighting against, or in opposition to, or simply not adhering to, or not following, the plain language of God’s Word?
Why would we do that?
Would we do it consciously?
If we would not do it consciously, then what should we do if we become aware of it?
How does it even happen?
Cui bono?
Does God benefit from people being led astray?
Do the people who are led astray benefit?
Someone must be benefiting from all of the false doctrine in the world, or it wouldn’t be happening. Who is it?
What would happen, if everything we have learned since 2016, from Q, from digging, from going down rabbit holes, etc., was applied to seeking the truth about God and His Word?
Why don’t we just do that?
What would we find?
If we discovered that certain things we believe or practice are not according to God and His Word, but rather, doctrines, commandments and traditions of men — about which we are warned against in Scripture (Matthew 15:3, Matthew 15:9, Mark 7:7-9, Mark 7:13, Colossians 2:8) — what would we do about that?
Would we continue following the doctrines of men after we became aware of them, or would we turn away from such traditions and commandments of men, and follow God and His Word?

The questions you asked are good and fair questions, sometimes hard to answer, not because answers don’t exist, but because we learn from experience that whenever such subjects as these are discussed, some will not like the answers. Some will be offended. No one likes to offend, or at least I don’t, and I suspect most others don’t either.
So is it better to discuss such things privately, in order to avoid controversy and not be a stumbling block to someone who might be new in their faith, or is it better to accept the controversy and just speak plainly?
As a general matter, or starting point, is God’s Word available in most, if not all, of the world today? Has it been translated into every known language in the world?
If it is available in most or all of the world, that is good, because those who are looking for God can find Him. There is hope.
We might expect that whatever happens to those who do not have God’s Word (past or present), they will be judged just like everyone else, and God, being righteous and just and merciful, will do what is right to each person.
God knows the circumstances of every individual life, of every person who ever lived.
But for those who do have access to God’s Word, is it not best to read it, and follow it, and do what God’s Word says?
That is something we have control over. There may be people who were never exposed to or never had access to God’s Word, and God knows this, and who those people are.
But for everyone else, we do have access, so not having access will not apply to us.
Do we have any control over what people in Japan, Korea, China, India, France, other people in the U.S., etc. do with God’s Word?
Or do we only have control over what we do with it?
We know about God’s Word, and we have God’s Word, so is it not enough for us to be concerned about keeping it, teaching it to others as opportunity allows, and leave the rest to God, Who giveth the increase (cf. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7)?
Why burden ourselves, about things we cannot ultimately know or have any control over?
Do we not have enough on our own plates to be concerned about and keep us busy? 🙂
I realize that is probably not the answer you were looking for, and I wasn’t trying to be evasive.
The truth is that there are many things we would like to know, but which are not mentioned in God’s Word.
About those things, what can we do, besides speculation and conjecture, and does that lead us any closer to God, or only further away, often driving us toward yet new doctrines of men, in the effort to answer questions about which God has remained silent?
Fortunately, God has seen to it that we are told the things which we need to know, in order to be saved.
And if we are saved, will we not have all of eternity to ask God about the things we wanted to know in this life?

One way for the war to end is for the Russian speaking provinces to issue a Declaration of Independence [patterned after our own] from Ukraine.
After that, solicit recognition [via individual invitation diplomatic letters] of their sovereignty from as many countries as possible.

It immediately allows countries the opportunity to ‘vote’ in favor of the provinces by recognizing their legitimacy. Imagine if Putin could characterize Z-man and his cronies as an invading force and the Russian military as standing on the side of freedom fighters. Sort of a reverse color revolution.

I just read this. I thought the set-up was a bit too long, but the second half is very interesting.

The author did a lot of research, but I don’t see any basis in it for the conclusions he draws.
The part about the meanings of the names reminds me of numerology, only with names.
Yes, it is a coincidence. I think the author is looking at things from an entry-level point of view rather than a professional, leader-who-is-in-charge point of view. How many people know the meanings of the names and would see “triumphant victory over the swamp” when they see “Trump-Vance”? Probably close to zero. If so, then the only way this could have significance is if one believes the names or the numbers have some kind of power (which they don’t).
I don’t beleive Trump was looking at the meaning of the name “Vance” when he chose his running mate. I also don’t think there is any evidence that Trump “knew he was going to pick Vance” long ago. It is pure speculation, trying to make things fit a narrative. In the political world, circumstances can change very quickly. Trump made his choice of the person most qualified to help him win and govern, based on current circumstances as well as past history of the candidate — as occurs with any candidate.
Vance’s mentor, Amy Chua, defended Kavanaugh. Therefore we’re supposed to believe that somehow translates to Vance? Vance very well might have done the same, but he is not the same as his mentor.

And what “plan” is being referred to here? IMO the author is manipulating data to make it fit a “plan” narrative.
To be clear, I absolutely believe there is, and always has been, where Trump is concerned, a plan to restore the country, and that that plan is being implemented. But plans are subject to change all the time as events happen and as the enemy makes its moves. It is people’s interpretations that I often disagree with. I don’t believe there was a plan in place that foresaw the theft of Trump’s 2020 election that would have necessitated his choosing a running mate for 2024. That hearkens back to the “Trump allowed himself to lose in 2020 so the people could see” theory, which makes Trump complicit.
I don’t see any evidence of a longstanding Trump-Vance relationship in this article. And if Trump’s choice of Vance as VP goes back to 2013, why didn’t Trump pick Vance in 2016 instead of Pence? (“Because ‘the plan’” is not a valid answer. 😊)
The more I see of Vance, the more I can see why Trump picked him. Vance is quick on his feet, handles himself well with hostile media, articulates Trump’s policies effectively, has the appropriate demeanor to be on the national stage, and more. I doubt that Vance was this accomplished a decade ago when Trump is alleged by this author to have chosen him. And I also don’t think Vance was chosen and groomed over the years. There is no evidence of that.

I have thought Repubs have a dearth of talent who could attempt to fill Trump’s shoes after he is out of office; i.e., someone who could attract crowds at rallies, whose speech people would want to hear. But seeing and hearing Vance is encouraging. As long as he stays on the MAGA message, I think I would enjoy attending one of his rallies. If he would govern in the same way, then I am hopeful that we might have a good successor to Trump.

Pony had choke from trying to swallow without chewing since he has no teeth. Unfortunately he got some fluid into his lungs and we are going to be aggressively treating a possible infection because of his age… (47 years old)
OH JOY, I get to cram lots of pills down his throat. Thank goodness I have a mortar & pestle and lots of molasses & a big syringe.

I have 6 ponies without grinding teeth and an additional 2 that are OK with grass but can no longer eat hay. So far this year we have had 3 major vet visits.
I do not dare sell these ponies because I doubt anyone else could give them the care they now require. Some I have had for 25 to 30 or more years.
Luckily all of them can still work, even if it is just giving a toddler his first ride or to stand there and be petted. The guy that just came home is a major favorite with youngsters and the oldsters at nursing homes.
He’s home now and in his stall?
Yup and I squirted the antibiotic surrounded by molasses into his mouth so we are all good until tomorrow AM.
Luckily this is the sweetest tempered of my ponies so he is very easy to handle. We let 4 year old’s lead him he is so good.
He looks a lot like this pony only fluffier.
