The True Light
The apostle John opens his Gospel with a systematic, 18-verse introduction to the Lord Jesus Christ. A key aspect of Christ’s nature that John highlights is that He is the bearer of light. Jesus brings the revelation of God’s life and light into a dark world (verses 4–5). In John 1:6–9, the apostle explains that John the Baptist was merely a witness to the light, but Jesus is the true light: “There was a man sent from God whose name was John [the Baptist]. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.”
John the Baptist’s message was illuminating, but he was not the true light. Jesus is the true light, the real thing, the genuine article—God in the flesh. He alone reveals God’s glory in the world because He is God incarnate who “became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14; see also 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 1:1–2; 4:2).
By stating that Jesus is the true light coming into the world, John directly connects Him to Israel’s Messiah as the prophets foretold: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned” (Isaiah 9:2; see also Isaiah 49:6; 60:1–2; Malachi 4:2).
Jesus is “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being” (Hebrews 1:3). He beams forth the light, truth, and life of God to the world and into the hearts of men and women. Jesus Himself declared, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12; see also John 9:5). At Christ’s transfiguration, Peter, James, and John caught a glimpse of the true light as Jesus’ “face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light” (Matthew 17:2). In the book of Revelation, John describes Jesus’ face “like the sun shining in all its brilliance” (Revelation 1:16). He is the “bright Morning Star” (Revelation 22:16).
Jesus is the true light of God for those who partake of His salvation. When we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He makes God’s “light shine in our hearts” so we can “know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). Those who trust in Jesus and “believe in the light” become “children of light” (John 12:35–36, 46). As children of the light, we are called to bring His “salvation to the ends of the earth” (Acts 13:47). Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Several elements are necessary to sustain human life: light, air, water, and food are among the most critical. Jesus is the true light means He is our essential source of life. Without light, it is impossible to sustain life of any kind on earth. If the sun ceases to shine, everything will die. Not only is Jesus our light, but He is also the spiritual air we breathe. By His Holy Spirit, He breathes on us the “breath of life” (John 3:8; 20:22). Jesus is also the “living water” who, by His Holy Spirit, becomes in us “a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:10–14; 7:37–39).
Jesus declared Himself to be “the true bread from heaven” (John 6:32). He is the genuine “bread of life” (John 6:35). He is our life-giving, life-sustaining source. He fully meets all our needs and perfectly satisfies our souls. In John 15:1–17, Jesus revealed that He is “the true vine,” and His Father owns the garden. Christ’s followers are described as fruit-bearing branches. They are the true believers who “abide in the vine.” Jesus is everything we need for life because He is God, “the fountain of life” (Psalm 36:9).
Jesus is the true light is John’s unequivocal way of stating that Jesus Christ is the ultimate, one and only, genuine self-disclosure of God to man. The Word of God became flesh and blood, and Jesus Christ is “the light of the world.” In Him, there is “no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). His light is our “light and our salvation” (Psalm 27:1). Jesus Christ is the true light of God sent into the world to pierce through the darkness. Through His life, ministry, and message, Jesus brought the light and life of God to bear on everyone He encountered. That light continues to shine on earth through His Church (Ephesians 5:8; Philippians 2:15).

Curious thing: shortly after 7 AM I saw through my back eastward facing window a “vapor” trail being created. The jet (presumably, I cannot see it) creating the trail was making an ascent of a perfect 45 degrees. I watched for several minutes as it climbed slowly in the sky. The vapor trail was bright, but at some point it faded somewhat, not completely, and then the jet sped up way faster than it was going, judging from how quickly the trail then started to be caused. It resumed its brightness. The jet went very high in the sky and was still at the 45 angle when I could not see it because of trees in my yard.
Then I noticed another vapor trail which crossed the first one near the point where the first one started from my pov. I watched as the second presumed jet slowly created this second “vapor” trail about at a 20 degree angle. It was hidden behind trees much faster than the first.
Twenty-five minutes later the “vapor” trails are holding steady with just slight dispersion.
I remember the good old days (?) when I would not have wondered about what our government is doing to us now.
I see those chemtrails a lot, up here in NE Ohio esp early in the morning…commercial jets fly much higher and leave a very thin whispy jetstream plume in their wake that dissipates rather quickly..
unlike the chemtrails which are much lower and much thicker and hang in the sky longer as they also expand…I counted 10 a few days ago, all crisscrossing each other.
Then these were definitely chemtrails. I wonder if the pilots of these jets have ever been heard from.

Those “vapor trails” (chemtrails) are all over the place in northwestern Durham County, NC. The planes that spray them fly so low that sometimes the sound wakes me from a sound sleep — this is around 4AM – 5AM. These chemtrails take hours to dissipate; and when they do, they “fluff out” into VERY LOW-HANGING “clouds” that resemble threads of cirrus clouds.

Does the bill have teeth? MEANING – if a plane leaves a nasty trail, can the flight be identified, and the plane then DETAINED and INSPECTED?
Because THAT would explain why you might not be seeing such trails.
Assume, for the sake of argument, that the trails have nothing to do with geoengineering, but also that they do have a purpose, possibly classified, possibly military, possibly defensive.
If there is a real reduction in trails after the legislation, there must be an explanation. That’s basic science. It means there ARE flights that are knowingly leaving trails that are not simply “normal” contrails. IMO.
It may be that the same engine with the same fuel might leave or not leave trails depending on whether it’s running in “eco-mode” or something.
The trails could be cheaper for the airlines or mandated by some regulation.
Along that same line of thinking, it could just be seasonal – perhaps a temperature or humidity effect.
As I understand it contrails are just the plane creating conditions that cause water vapor to condense. Sometimes they form off the wing tips and not the engines.

Yes and no. They’re under continuous assault from RINOs. The RINOs mostly fail with the organization (that process is controlled by the grass roots at assemblies), but have been eminently successful at bypassing the grass roots as far as selecting candidates, because there are two routes to the nomination: 1) go through the assembly, and with 30 percent of the assembly’s vote, get on the primary ballot. 2) ignore the assembly and petition on to the primary ballot.
What happens is that people who couldn’t possibly get through the assembly petition on and then outspend the grassroots candidate, winning the primary.
I’m sure the state organization won no points with the RINO RNC establishment by giving incumbent RINO Ortagnon a thorough stomping when we elected our woman RNC committeeperson, too.
Dave Williams, the state chair, ran for congress in the 5th congressional district (Colorado Springs and most of the county it is in, El Paso County). He won the vote at the assembly hands down, but of course people petitioned on to the primary ballot and he lost the primary (this is the route the RINOs take: Petition on and then outspend the grassroots candidate). This did NOT work in the 4th district (eastern part of the state including a large but thinly populated part of El Paso County), where Boebert won the assembly AND the primary.

April 28, 2008 Suffolk VA. EF3, so not a huge tornado. 20 mile path. Went through our hood and surrounding area. Several adjacent blocks with homes reduced to foundations. Four days before we could get back in our homes. ~Seven days before they turned gas back on.
Driving home from work, had to park on the side of the road. Ran the final two miles to our home. Debris everywhere. Plenty of overturned cars. DW safe at home with, twin eight month Grandsons. Counted out blessings.
Within four or five days, everyone that sustained damage, had a $500 check from Red Cross with a letter, stating how to apply for an additional grant. Not a fan of Red Cross, but that helped. Several nights in a hotel. All fully booked with no reduced rates.
Our damage ~$4K, so we ate the repair costs and did not use homeowners insurance. Didn’t want to give them an excuse to raise our insurance rate.
No idea what if anything FEMA did.
BTW. Another case of no calls connected for several hours. Text messaged did.

There is an immense amount of discussion about what the Bible means exactly. That is a beautiful thing, not a criticism.
Chuck Missler said the best way to “interpret” the Bible was to see Jesus on every page, and that insight is an amazing key.
To me, the simplest way to understand the Bible depends on a single factual question. Was Jesus an actual human being who lived amongst us?
If He was, than the rest follows, including all the interpretations. A simple totally logical pov. True, it is a key to understanding, and requires application. IMO the application, given the underlying truth of the human existence of Jesus, answers every question. We see/understand things the way Jesus saw them.
All of life is full of ambiguity and seeming contradiction. Most especially words and descriptions. Even inspired words, because those words reflect God’s cooperative plan based on human beings.
For instance, how did Judas die? No one knows exactly, and it is not necessary to know. How anything happens/happened is a realm of factual certainty constituting the normal limits of human understanding.
Do I really need to know? Or is there something more important? If Jesus was sent by the Father, that is all I need to know.
Every man’s living pov is based on some faith. Faith, necessarily, is the fundamental pov of every man. Faith is the bedrock of how every man understands things. There is no human being, save Jesus, who knows better than any other man. That is just the way things are.
And every man choses his own faith, a choice which reflects the heart of every man, what he wants things to be.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

I let this comment sit for quite awhile before I clicked the ‘post’ button. I really don’t want to offend people if it can be avoided.
I disagree that there is a “right” religion. I think all of them are man-made and therefore false by definition. Yeshua did not come here in physical form in order to start a new religion. He came to bring the truth in its simplest form. Man has complicated that truth with religious requirements.
Do I believe that Yeshua is the Christ – the Son of the Living God who is the Messiah that will rescue us? That He was crucified, died, and was resurrected by His Father? That He paid all of our sin debts via His sacrifice?
Yes.
Beyond that, very little else is necessary other than to obey His command: follow Me.
As I was struggling with the question of whether to post this comment, I read a link that barkerjim had posted from the burning platform that said the very same thing.

P, I think what you are talking about is true. But in this context, I must also point out that your very comment makes the case that Christianity, however it is practiced or followed, is the “right” religion.
Christianity is the only religion that accepts that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Islam doesn’t; neither does Buddhism, Hinduism, or any other.
The “truth in its simplest form” is only present in Christianity, if one is speaking of religion. Which they are, in the video.
Is “religion” a requirement to be a follower of Jesus? Of course, it is not. But if a person wants to have a religion, then Christianity is the “right” one.
Why are there so many different sects within Christianity?
Because following is hard, and everybody wants a formula for following – about which there has to be disagreement.

Simply, IMHO, The Catholic Church became corrupt. Henry VIII needed a divorce, broke with the Catholic Church and then compromised creating the Church of England.
My ancestors made it to the American continent with the Dutch reform, and the rest is just more division.
The US realized it could not accept a government religion, thus The Church of England was persona non grata as was the Catholic Church. Thus, the Episcopalian Church was formed. Without God’s Word, there are only a couple other historical references (including Tacitus) that Jesus was crucified, and if they were the only references, nobody would even know who it was that was being referred to.
Without God’s Word, we wouldn’t know that Jesus rose again on the third day.
Without God’s Word, we wouldn’t know any of the things we know about God.
So if we only know all of those things because of His Word, because He chose to reveal them to mankind in His Word and because He chose to preserve His Word, why should we ignore everything else in His Word?

DHS, FBI and Intelligence Community offices now had direct communication lines into Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google, WhatsAp, etc. However, Telegram and TikTok were not around and not part of the partnership. What two platforms have been targeted recently?… Just a coincidence, I’m sure.
The Arab Spring was the BETA test, the proving ground. Then they went domestic with the same operation.
The results of the domestic operation, the public-private partnership, later became stunningly visible in the COVID-19 censorship operation as well as the government influence operation in the aftermath of the 2020 election. However, most recently there has been some pushback from both originating entities; Twitter – via Elon Musk, and Facebook – via a regretful Mark Zuckerberg.

Now, suddenly, with increased scrutiny and a more awakened public seeing the consequences, it is harder for the government to execute their domestic propaganda operations. Even the labeling and categorization through “mis-dis-mal-information” does not appear to be working.
Within the recent WEF discussion, Secretary Kerry outlines how freedom of speech is a ‘threat to the global democracy‘ because the governing officials have a difficult time controlling information. Kerry goes on to posit how the next administration, presumably in his hope Kamala Harris, will forcefully structure all the tools of government to stop Americans from using the first amendment to freely speak about issues.
Governing is too challenging, according to Kerry, when the government cannot stop people from seeking and discovering information that is against their interests. Effective governing required compliant adherence to a singular ideology. Against the backdrop of COVID-19 and a host of similarly related government narratives, if people are free to find alternative information and think for themselves, they become increasingly more difficult to control. I disagree with him. Those are perfectly good words that have their own definitions. If you recognize that something is either disinformation or misinformation, that informs your decision whether to accept it or not.

The Left constantly takes words and terminology that has had an understood meaning for ages, and tries to redefine them. We have known this for years. Therefore, if they try to convince us that something is misinformation, we know that a) they’re probably lying and b) our own definition stands.

On top of that — this disaster at the Baxter International facility could also affect NON-hospital supplies and use of IV fluids — at places like stand-alone kidney dialysis clinics; VETERINARY clinics; EMS supplies; etc.
That must be reason #324 why monopolies are bad, and why keeping all of your manufacturing capacity in ONE area is bad.
