It’s starting to go mainstream.
I frequently see many in the pro-Trump media space, saying not to be too confident, and don’t share polls/markets that show Trump winning, because it will make voters complacent and not show up to vote, etc. I think it’s the exact opposite. Victory is contagious. People are much more willing to take part in the game, if they think they are going to win. People commonly repeat “act like we are 10 points down”. How does that motivate the fence-sitters to go to the polls? This will make people feel defeated. People want to feel like their vote matters. Like they are a part of something significant. People want to win. If anything, I’d say this recent surge in Trump popularity and positivity is creating MORE Trump voters, because the stigma around Trump is dying. People are not afraid to openly support Trump anymore. The movement is infectious. Our confidence and vibes draw people towards us, and humans are naturally inclined to default towards the group. Liking Trump is cool now. Spreading positivity does not make us complacent. I think it creates more voters, by making us look more appealing to the undecideds, and motivating the disgruntled non-voters who feel like their vote does not matter. We give them hope that this time, things could be different. I don’t care what anyone says. Trump is winning, and if you want to be part of history, you will join us and vote Trump.
I am so grateful I woke up from whatever hypnosis that was that I was under. I apologize to conservatives, to religious people, to the mothers who were questioning the medicines and foods we gave our children. I didn’t realize how out of touch I was and how manipulated I was by the media and culture in general. I think it’s really important for people to set aside their tribalism and admit when they were wrong. So I’ll go first. 4 years ago I thought conservatives were bad rich white corporate people who hated the poor. I hated Trump (I believed what Canadian media said about him) but I probably couldn’t tell you one single thing that he did wrong or didn’t do right. I pretended like I knew what I was talking about when it came to politics but the truth is all I cared about was not voting conservative. I had such strong opinions about it and maybe I even thought I had done my due diligence. But the truth is I would open up the political platform days before voting day and read between the liberal and NDP parties platform highlights and choose from there. I had NO IDEA and no business voting. I hated the churches and thought religious people were brainwashed. I felt superior in my spiritual practices as if I knew better than thousands of years of peaceful people gathering to worship Jesus. Meanwhile I was drinking, I was partying and filled with anxiety and depression while I did these bandaid eastern wisdom practices that temporarily fixed small problems. I thought the anti-vaxxer moms were crazy and uneducated. In 2019 I went to social justice trainings because that was the thing back then and this is where I started to wake up. Not only did it not make sense…..it so clearly made things worse. And then I woke up. Not all at once. Bit by bit. It started with the visceral feeling that the sometimes well meaning social justice trainings were manipulative and encouraging division and hatred over healing. Then the pandemic and how the media handled it. Then the illegal and corrupt actions of our government. Then the realization that these medicines were causing more hurt than harm. Then my deep dive into understanding politics, geopolitics and the world’s history. Then I met Jesus. And everything else spiralled into place after that. I didn’t just “switch teams” – I’m not on a team. I’m just very very aware of history, the inner workings of politics, how the medical system works and what I need to do to have a good life. I know what it’s like to be a good person who simply doesn’t pay attention to the world beyond the surface of what media shows. There are many of us now. Be patient with people. They can change.

I think the Dems just want to tie everything up in the courts. A case where they say Trump incited insurrection should be thrown out immediately without having to go through the legal system because he did not incite insurrection and has not been charged or convicted of it. One thing about being in a tropical fish club is that you learn about auctions. If you successfully keep fish, odds are that they’re going to reproduce — and, unless you want to fill swimming pools with one kind of fish, you’re going to have to get rid of some — so you take them to the club and auction them off.
Not everyone is good at being an auctioneer, so the club generally settles on a short list of people — hopefully knowledgeable enough to give helpful tips about a fish before the bidding starts. (I’ve done this, but I’m about 5th or 6th choice.)
Bidding recklessly in this context normally has half the fish you just bought eating the other half when you put them in the same tank. Or paying too much for a fish you don’t understand how to care for.
In my case it was coins.
I was in the room once when a coin sold for 125K, and that was a *small* auction as such things go. (It was big for the specific specialized coins it sold, but there have been many multi-million dollar coins sold.
Bidding recklessly is overpaying for a coin or exceeding your budget or both. Sometimes a war can erupt if it just so happens the only two people who care about a piece (i.e., the entire market for it) are in the room. And you do not want to be one of those people when the other one dies; you’re now left holding a bunch of stuff you paid a lot for because you were having to outbid that guy…that now no one but you cares about.

I was just reading God’s Word, Acts chapter 23, where forty men made a conspiracy against Paul to kill him.
And it occurred to me right then as I was reading, that this is the answer to those who reject or denounce ‘conspiracies’.
The word ‘conspiracy’ occurs 10 times in the Bible, 9 times in the Old Testament and 1 time in the New Testament. Just go to any online Bible, and search the word ‘conspiracy’ in the KJV. The word “conspirators” is also found in Scripture (2 Samuel 15:31, KJV).
Here is the passage from the New Testament:

“And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. [13] And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy. [14] And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.” (Acts 23:12-14, KJV)

So the people who reject or mock ‘conspiracies’ out of hand, and pretend like they don’t exist, are denying the Word of God also.

Oh, and just read the OT for all the “not labeled as such” conspiracies – and how God hates them! And how even the Biblical hero David fell to engaging in one – and lived not only to regret it, but to overcome his guilt by returning to obeying the Word of God.

an unlawful, harmful, or evil plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; plot.
But that’s not what some people mean when they refer to conspiracies. They mean theories that people come up with to explain how/why something happened.
So while the takedown of the buildings on 9/11 was definitely the result of a conspiracy, some of the theories about who was behind the conspiracy will not be accepted by some, and they will denounce those theories as conspiracy theories, or just conspiracies.
There are a number of theories about various things that I reject, but I still believe conspiracies exist. Of course they do; they are a major means of committing crime.

When I wrote the post early this morning, I was thinking with regard to dealing with Leftists who, for one example, refuse to consider the conspiracy within the gov’t to assassinate DJT, dismissing it out of hand as ‘conspiracy’, as if the very concept that a ‘conspiracy’ might exist is ridiculous.
They do this because it is the path of least resistance, it’s how the Left ‘argues’ nearly everything, because it requires far more effort to formulate a coherent argument than it does to simply dismiss the idea along with the person who presented it.
They do it because they know they can’t present a coherent argument that can withstand scrutiny.
So the next time some Leftist attempts to dismiss, out of hand, something which can be presented credibly as a real conspiracy, they don’t just get to walk away from that.
Conspiracies are real, they are going on all the time, all around us, because people are motivated to do all sorts of things which require cooperation and secrecy. Some good things, many bad.
By showing that conspiracies are recorded in Scripture, it puts the Leftist in the position of denying God’s Word in order to maintain their position that conspiracies among people in positions of power to do bad things don’t exist, that it’s just fanciful talk, etc.
And while a true atheist may be fine with denying God’s Word and the Authority of same, the majority of people are not true atheists.
And if God’s Word declares some thing is true or real, then no man on earth can claim otherwise, without being in contradiction to God.
Again, the true atheist may not care at all about being in contradiction to God, but the majority believe in God, and if pressed, must acknowledge the Authority of God, and therefore the Authority of His Word.
God’s Word declares that conspiracies are real, so any Leftist who says otherwise has an argument with God. They can win that argument all day long if no one presents the relevant passages in God’s Word.
But if anyone does present the relevant passages, the attempted dismissal by the Leftist is invalidated by a source recognized as Authoritative by the majority — a source of Authority far higher than any corrupt government or corrupt system of human law.
So that’s not nothing.
It takes away one of the Left’s favorite tactics (denying the reality of ‘conspiracy’) to get out of defending what they claim to believe. That tactic stops many people who confront Leftists dead in their tracks, because it is very difficult to establish a position if the opponent simply dismisses the premise.
Now that tactic won’t work, if we simply prove that ‘conspiracies’ are a historical reality with several very well known examples right in God’s Word.

HOWEVER, I realize (or strongly suspect) that you are referring to those on our own side who promote so-called ‘white-hat’ conspiracies, which are expected to pluck us from the jaws of defeat at any moment.
I have never experienced anything like that in my entire lifetime, it has never happened, which is (in large part) why I am so skeptical of all the smoke that has been blown up our arses over the past 4 years (not to mention from the onset of Q through the end of DJT’s first term).
The desire, even the need to believe in such narratives is so incredibly strong, that it draws evildoers like a moth to a flame.
The evildoers deceive the well intentioned, and the well intentioned spread the deception in a sincere effort to help others.
The observation about ‘conspiracy’ recognized in Scripture does not help OR hurt the ‘white hat conspiracy’ case, because we never denied the existence of conspiracies in the first place.
As ever, the burden of proof (whether by preponderance of the evidence or beyond a reasonable doubt) remains on the person claiming the conspiracy.

Agreed, but to the general public it’s entirely abstract, as in, when was the last time anyone was prosecuted for ‘conspiracy’ to do anything? Sure, it’s a charge tacked on to dozens of other charges in some cases, because that’s how our injustice system works now.
Nobody is charged with what they have actually done, they get a shotgun blast of charges and the prosecution then waits to see what sticks. In the meantime, if you add up all the charges, someone who may only be guilty of a minor offense is looking at 5,000 years if convicted on all counts, which is mighty strong motivation to plea to a lesser charge and salvage some portion of your life.
So ‘conspiracy’ has become abstract to most of the public, insofar as ‘law’ is concerned. I can’t think of a single person who has been prosecuted for ‘conspiracy’ to do anything — unless, again, it was just one of dozens of charges leveled at someone.

The Left dismisses any proposed conspiracy that contradicts their worldview.
And that’s the only type of conspiracy they will ever be confronted with, because they’re never going to be confronted with a conspiracy that contradicts their own worldview from their own side (i.e., from the Left).
So as a practical matter, to the Left, ‘conspiracy’ is a conservative fantasy which can always be dismissed out of hand.
And being on the right (or at least in opposition to the Left), that presents a problem in confrontational argument. The Left dismisses whatever they dislike, so the Right has to establish every point to the Nth degree.
The Bible establishes the reality of ‘conspiracy’ to the Nth degree.
That necessarily shifts the debate from dismissing ‘conspiracy’ out of hand, to debating the merits of a proposed ‘conspiracy’.
So it’s an advance on the battlefield, a step forward in what is otherwise often best characterized as static trench warfare, because the Left will filibuster or dismiss or simply deny whatever they can get away with.
Because they are dishonest participants in the debate to begin with, truth is never their objective, they never enter the debate as a legitimate search for truth to begin with.

This is what concerns me. Reports from all across America of “fraud adjacent” circumstances, big and small. TDS emboldens cheating even apart from the “official” cheating.

Hi DP, I was struck by the name Latrobe, PA in that the name Latrobe featured prominently in an historical novel I just finished yesterday. Since the story started in PA I wondered if there was any connection between Latrobe, PA & characters (historical figures portrayed) in that novel. Turns out there is!

I thought of you a number of times when reading this book, DP, as it depicted the first steamboat journey along the Ohio River & Mississippi River, from Pittsburg to New Orleans. Many adventures & challenges faced the characters, including intense earthquake activity that apparently significantly reshaped the Mississippi River. I’d never heard about such earthquake activity which was reportedly significantly worse than the one that hit San Francisco 2 centuries later.

The author implied that this earthquake is virtually unknown, but as it’s also a part of Missouri history I wondered if you might have been aware of it DP? The fact that it occurred midway in a tectonic plate rather than where different plates meet made me think that it might be of scientific interest.
An historic comet also featured prominently in the novel & it made me wonder if its presence might have contributed to gravitational or tidal forces that May have contributed to that intense earthquake activity in a similar time period. I wonder if Steve might opine!

Comets are so tiny, that I doubt they could cause earthquakes.
Except, of course, by actually hitting the Earth.
The New Madrid quake is obscure to some people (perhaps because they happened in a place no one today thinks of as an earthquake zone) but I’m sure they’re well known to seismologists and likely other branches of geology, ironically for the same reason.
I think the wiki poo page on That comet said it was visible for like 270 days, so I thought it Might have then had sufficient gravitational/tidal forces that acted on the Earth. Just speculating…

Comets look bright because they’re basically evaporating under the sunlight and all the particles, etc. are blowing off and reflect the sunlight, like spraying a mist in a sunbeam. Even a tiny mass can look really bright under those circumstances.
The actual comet is likely something 10km or less in size (the diameter of a medium sized city) which is basically nothing compared to the size of the Earth.
But again, if it collides, it’s doing so at tens of kilometers per second and that WILL have an impact! (So to speak.)
OK TY I guess I was speculating on whether a comet visible for that long, so “near” Earth could have exerted enough gravitational or tidal forces on Earth to have contributed to those atypical (mid tectonic plate) earthquakes. Sounds like it’s not likely.

Size matters here.
Yes, it’s technically a three (four) body problem. But when one of the bodies is much, much, much, much smaller than the others, you can effectively ignore its effects on the others, and concentrate on the other bodies’ effects on it (and each other). In this case, the dyamics of the Earth/Moon/Sun are fairly well understood, you just have to see what happens to the comet (because of the other three bodies) as it traipses on through.
I’m not even sure THIS comet is getting close to Earth anyway. If it’s not coming within ten million miles (say), then basically the earth and moon will have little effect on the comet (much less the other way around).
Hyakutake in 1996 came closer to Earth, actually within ten million miles, close enough you could almost see it moving across the Big Dipper. (Not to be confused with Hale-Bopp the next year.)

Typical Comet: 8 x 10^13 kilograms
the Earth masses almost 100 billion times as much as the comet. Since mass is what drives gravitational effects, that makes the comet a mere flyspeck next to Earth.
Even a direct hit wouldn’t affect Earth’s orbit much but the shock of impact would cause earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. and would be an extinction-level event.

Oh it certainly exists. (And must be kept in the back of one’s mind.) But it would take a very, very long time to do so here, probably more than a lifetime. In any case I don’t see a comet (which is transitory) having more of an effect than Jupiter (which is always there) even if Jupiter is further away (it’s much more massive, and always there).
Butterfly effects are much more likely to happen TO asteroids and comets, and that’s why there’s some uncertainty over whether the asteroid Apophis will hit or miss the Earth.

I mean she was practically bragging about her own covid response that killed many elderly in nursing homes (she was one of the demonic 5 govs responsible for like 40% of elderly deaths in the nation, iirc).
Later Kimmel asked her if she thought it would be possible to bring the 2 sides of the aisle, or more like the electorate, together somehow. She implied she thought it would be where Kimmel thought no chance. Neither of them conducted themselves in a manner that would cause anyone on our side to feel like we’d get either a fair shake or reasonable policy out of people like them.

God goes with us wherever we go. God fights in the battles for us. He’s already defeated our enemy. He’s telling us to be strong and courageous and giving us the ability to be strong and courageous and not back off from this fight. He’s given us the ability to fight this fight, stand strong, to never surrender or quit.
Josh 1:9…Haven’t I commanded you be strong, vigorous and very courageous. Be not afraid neither be dismayed for the Lord Your God is with you wherever you go.
How many times in Scriptures does it say God is with us wherever we go. So no matter where we are, or adversity or adversary we are facing…we know He is with us. He promised us strength and victory. We should never ever become hopeless and full of despair, overwhelmed by our circumstances BUT WE SHOULD BE OVERWHELMING OUR CIRCUMSTANCES BY THE WORD OF GOD, BY THE POWER OF GOD, BY THE POWER OF HIS NAME and remind ourselves on a daily basis the BLOOD COVENANT that we do have with God and to overwhelm our adversary, reminding him of:

The defeat – he’s already defeated.
He wants us to be under this pressure and weight…that you will never get out of the situation you are in but that’s a lie…he will try to tell you it’s never going to change, circumstances will get worse not better…so you stop praying, stop having faith and trust in God. If it looks like the attacks are intensifying that means you are doing something right. If you are not a threat to the enemy he wouldn’t be putting the pressure on you to quit and he would not be attacking you the way he’s attacking you so you’ve become a major threat to the enemy.
