Living Hope
First Peter 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (CSB).
The apostle Peter opens his letter with words of praise for God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, reminding readers that salvation is a gift of God’s mercy. Then Peter states that believers are given “a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” What exactly does Peter mean when he speaks of “a living hope”?
Peter states that it is the “new birth” that provides our living hope, affirming that salvation is a gift from God. Just as an infant does nothing to be born, we experience rebirth not because of who we are or anything we have done. We are born of God (John 1:13) through Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Salvation changes who we are (2 Corinthians 5:17), making us dead to sin and alive to righteousness in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:5). This new birth serves as our reason for hope—the assurance of salvation.
Bible commentators often call Peter the apostle of hope. In this passage, Peter links our new birth—our salvation—with the idea of “a living hope.” The hope Peter speaks of is not the wishful thinking usually associated with the word hope today. We might say, “I hope it doesn’t rain,” or “I hope I pass the test.” But this is not the kind of hope Peter has in mind.
The Greek term for “hope” in the passage means “an eager, confident expectation.” This hope of the believer is not only “living” but “lively.” The CEV translates the phrase as “a hope that lives on.” Unlike the empty, dead hope of this world, this “living hope” is energizing, alive, and active in the soul of the believer. “We live with great expectation,” as the NLT puts it. Our living hope originates from a living, resurrected Savior. Peter’s living hope is Jesus Christ.
The apostle is speaking to Christians who were suffering persecution in Asia Minor. His words were meant to encourage them in their troubles. Their future was secure because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Their hope was in His victory over death and His resurrection life. Whatever the persecuted believers would face in this world could not compare to the blessings of the future resurrection and the life to come in eternity.
Living hope is anchored in the past—Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 28:6). It continues in the present—Jesus is alive (Colossians 3:1). And it endures throughout the future—Jesus promises eternal, resurrection life (John 3:16; 4:14; 5:24; Romans 6:22; 1 Corinthians 15:23). Living hope also enables us to live without despair as we encounter suffering and trials in this present life: “Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:16–18, CSB).
The object of our living hope is described in 1 Peter 1:4 as “an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you” (CSB). We have an inheritance that will never be touched by death, stained by evil, or faded with time; it is death-proof, sin-proof, and age-proof. This inheritance is also fail-proof because God guards and preserves it in heaven for us. It is wholly secure. Absolutely nothing can undermine the certainty of our future inheritance.
People cannot survive long without hope. Hope keeps us going through painful experiences and fear of what the future may hold. In a fallen world where people face poverty, disease, hunger, injustice, disaster, war, and terrorism, we need a living hope. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:12 that those who don’t have Jesus Christ do not have hope. Believers are blessed with real and substantial hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. By the power of God’s Word and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, this living hope quickens our minds and souls (Hebrews 4:12). It changes our thoughts, words, and actions. Once dead in our sins, we now live with the hope of our own resurrection.
The believer’s living hope is solid and secure: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” (Hebrews 6:19–20, CSB). Jesus Christ is our Savior, our salvation, our Living Hope.

Interesting. I always thought that at the end of a youtube vid the suggestions on what to watch next came from my feeds. See’s the Chevrolet Commercial had the “I DARE YOU NOT TO CRY” suggestion which means the suggestion is actually coming from your feed?
So the deal is, something will come out and go viral, then sit for a couple of years. While it sits (and nobody is watching too closely), jackals come out of the grass and start posting versions of the same video with their text loaded over it. Then they use every way they can to pump it up so that they can get click revenue off of it.
I was too lazy to try to find the “pure” and “original” commercial — which I should have done. Of course, there might be six clickbait versions…..
One of the versions I did not use was half the length and edited the audio instead of the video.
Just for us dummies, how does that click revenue thingy work and who enforces the money transfers?
Simply put, if you have a “producer” YouSchmoob account and put up “content”, then YouSchmoob counts the number of times your content is viewed. Based on this, they give you money.
If you merely take someone else’s content and make a minor alteration to it, that person effectively re-routes the clicks that would have gone to the original content creator to themselves.
On the other side of things, YouSchmoob sells advertising. They charge more to put the advertising on content that more people are looking at.
This fellow probably wanted to cry, too, at the end of his day 😀

Sundance has correctly swung into high gear on the Bondi nomination – he’s working hard in his area of expertise so Trump doesn’t get blind sided again. I’m sure he’s right that President Trump probably doesn’t know about her background.
Mrs. Bondi will not be loyal, 1) she has swampy ways 2) she is weak, a recipe for disaster (Jeff Sessions 2.0).
She’ll go along thinking she’s MAGA till they threaten her, then she’ll immediately do whatever they want, looking out for herself only before she’s done a bit of good – SHE WON’T FIGHT – leaving all the good people like Rudi Giuliani that have been abused for the last four years still out in the wilderness – and throwing President Trump to the wolves.

I read everything SD posted about the Zimmerman case, which “refreshed my memory”. I had not really seen how Bondi allowed that farce to go on, but I do now. She gave Angela Corey “space to destroy” as a strategy, and it cost this nation heavily. She was basically at war with the DOJ then, and she wimped out. Is she really ready now? REALLY ready?
She’s simply not one who smacks down trouble in the early stages, or stops it, once it’s going. The other side is going to take advantage of her. They know her weakness better than I do.

Bondi cannot go after these people without becoming a different person – like Crocodile Dundee – blood on the knife – and knowing that none of the other criminals in DOJ even give a shit about seeing that blood from one of their own – they’re not scared – they’re STILL out to get her, just like crocodiles.

“Just like cats, waste in Washington has nine lives,” Ernst told The Federalist in an exclusive statement.
President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to appoint Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to eliminate waste throughout the federal government. On Thursday, Ramaswamy announced he was starting a podcast with Musk to launch the administrative effort and will call the new program “Dogecast.”
“Elon and I are going to start a separate track of ‘Dogecasts’ that explain exactly what we’re doing to the public to provide transparency on what is a once-in-a-generation project,” Ramaswamy said in a video posted to YouTube. “We want to bring the public along with us. To lift the curtain, to take us behind the scenes of what that waste, fraud and abuse in government looks like.”
Ernst highlighted nine examples topping at least $9.7 million in her weekend social media campaign she says illustrate how the federal government blows through taxpayer money.
“I am working paw in paw with the Trump administration, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and DOGE to claw back tax dollars from the fat cats and get Americans feline good that Washington is finally starting to work for them again,” Ernst told The Federalist.
The senator’s first example is a $6.8 million dollar study by the National Science Foundation to assess what toys, foods, scents, and humans cats prefer. Researchers examined a group of 50 cats, five of which were uncooperative, and reported whichever option the participant animals spent the most time engaging with was that cat’s preference. Cats picked tuna over chicken, moving toys over stationary toys, and catnip over gerbils.
“Good news: they like tuna, catnip, playing with humans, and moving toys,” Ernst reported. “Bad news: we aren’t within a whisker of all the waste.”
Her second example was a $178,000 “Catwalk” study wherein officials with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) “put 10 cats on a catwalk and another on a treadmill to study how they balance.”
Her third example cited a $390,000 study commissioned to answer the question, “how many shakes does it take for a wet cat to dry off.”
Ernst’s fourth example was a $331,000 investigation into whether cats or elephants urinate faster.
“It turns out it was a tie!” the senator reported. “18 seconds for these speed demons.”
“And, who could forget the time @NIH spent $1.3 million treating cats to a pawsh day at the spa with treats and classical music to see if they pooped outside the litter box less,” Ernst wrote in the following post.
Other studies examined the appeal of “cute kittens on the internet,” whether cats could still walk on treadmills after the deletion of brain function, and how cats and mice interact when glowing in the dark.
“It would be a cat-astrope to let this purrplexing spending spree continue,” Ernst said.

A castor oil update –
I had mentioned that my long term floater went away just 12 hours after I used castor oil on my eyelids. Well, the prodigal has been found . . . but it has moved to a position well down and to the right of its former long term central position. At least it’s no longer in my normal field of vision.
The big question I have now, is whether NOT using DMSO will lock the floater into the new position, or if it will return to the center without DMSO.
I any case, I am very hopeful that you have accomplished something good here!!!
He is using castor oil although DMSO was also suggested.

SALLY Q UPDATE:
Home for a night in my own bed, shower, change of clothes.
Will go back very early tomorrow – for a day of diagnostics.
Checking back over my emails – her first complaint of pain was October 31 – and the pain since then has increased in frequency and intensity.
No tests or biopsies over the weekend, but has been seen by several specialists – her longtime Electrocardiologist (heart rhythm specialist), a Gyn Oncology PA, a Urologist, a couple of Hospitalists.
Tomorrow, there will likely be an ultrasound guided biopsy, an MRI if the metal rods in her femurs and the pacemaker don’t prohibit that and a CT scan of right kidney and ureter to be sure her flow is normal now. She may need a stent in the ureter.
They have said the spread of the tumors throughout the abdomen means it’s inoperable. It seems to be a recurrence of the ovarian cancer she had in 2017. One tumor is wrapped around the right ureter. The question now is whether she could tolerate chemo.
She had two CV19 vaccines and no boosters. I keep thinking about the alternative cancer cures – Ivermectin, Fenbendazole, and Hydroxychloroquine. I will find and print all the studies showing their efficacy.
If anyone has information for us – please post it after this comment.

No – she hasn’t had one in years. I’ve urged her not to get the Flu or any other vaccines either.
Her Dad always gets the flu shot. I don’t know if she did this year, but she has in the past.
Everyone in our family who got the CV19 vaccine has gotten the Covid virus.
Good. Taking the mRNA vax and any kind of chemo is like bailing out a sinking boat.

**** It’s going to be important for BOTH you and your ex (Sally Q’s father) to be on board with non-traditional cancer treatment protocols, and to do the necessary pushing to get these types of treatment started — the Establishment Medicine types are hidebound to things like chemo / surgery / radiation, etc. ALSO — the Establishment Medicine types may “allow” non-traditional treatment, but they may force this to be performed outside of a hospital setting; AND none of it may be billable to Medicare / health insurance, etc., because it’s non-traditional.
**** The other issue is going for “Right to Try.” In this case, the Establishment Medicine types can actually refuse to do this, citing “all of the traditional treatment options haven’t been exhausted yet.” This is, IMO, just BS from the Establishment Medicine types.
**** And, no more COVID-19 injections for her. Both you AND Sally Q’s father will need to be in agreement on this. Any further COVID-19 injections will only weaken Sally Q’s immune system even more.

I know from the Facebook cancer group that very few oncologists will even listen when you mention ivermectin or fenben. If you even ask, they’ll do everything they can to discourage it. Most people in that group just do it on their own. Which means you do have to buy it yourself. And incidentally, they’ve found that chemo works better when you’re also taking IV/fenben at the same time. Also, someone posted an article a few weeks ago about a large study that showed ivermectin works better than chemo.

So, chemo + IVM/Fenben works better. That’s so good to know. Everyone I’ve ever known who has taken chemo had their bodies wrecked by it. (This was in the pre-IVM can help humans discovery days.)
Actually, those people who reported this were determined to use chemo. Personally, I wouldn’t touch chemo with a 10 foot pole. However, they found that chemo was barely working before they started the fenben/ivermectin, and then suddenly they started getting results. I personally think they would have even better results just ditching the chemo altogether. Chemo has really nasty side effects, where fenben/ivermectin have almost none. I’ve taken both for over a year with no side effects at all and I’ve been very healthy all that time.
Most insurance companies REQUIRE chemo to fail to assist before they will authorize the expensive drugs such as Keytruda.
If a patient refuses chemo, the insurance refuses to pay for ANY treatment, including doctor visits.
So is there a need to even tell the doctors that a fenben/ivermectin regimen is being followed. Sounds like like some of Linda’s friends are just ignoring the docs and doing things their way and the docs way. So is this a case of better not to ask, just do it?
I don’t know.

REPORT: President Trump to Remove Transgender Servicemembers from Military on Day One
Donald Trump is planning an executive order that would lead to the removal of all transgender members of the US military, defence sources say.
The order could come on his first day back in the White House, January 20. There are believed to be about 15,000 active service personnel who are transgender. They would be medically discharged, which would determine that they were unfit to serve.
It would also lead to a ban on trans people joining the military and would come at a time when almost all branches of the American armed forces are failing to meet recruitment targets.
